Holiday to Vietnam

Cakes and Bubbly

The fact that a celebration was taking place at Hays Travel with cakes and bubbly available to all visitors had no influence on this review! It is many years since I last visited a travel agent so this was a fresh experience. I found Emma most helpful and patient as she explored numerous different travel and accommodation options with me. The bottom line is that, thanks to Emma and Hays Travel, the right holiday for me and my wife was sourced and has now been booked. Thank you Hays Travel - I'll be back!

Great service from Romsey as always

Emma was super helpful, offering to search for more appropriate hotels for us after we’d already booked the majority of our trip. Very friendly and approachable. When I asked to split the payment for the holiday in an email, the Manager Tash (who may not have even been working) got back to me immediately , advising how this could be done simply and quickly. Great attention to detail by Jamie at Hayes, Romsey. He was helpful and attentive and made our cruise booking a pain free process throughout. False advertisement and no refund

Went into the Romsey office to book a holiday over christmas/ new year for myself and my dog on the isle of Wight. Being and older woman with disabilities and use of a chair i was after a holiday park with onsite facilities, restaurants, entertainment, shops etc especially as it was over christmas time. The lady found a place and assured me it had everything i'd requested. I travelled to the Isle Of Wight arrived at the holiday park to find it was nothing like what had been promised, no facilities at all. Luckily i managed to get a ferry back to mainland for a huge cost. Went back to Hays and nothing was done, no apologies, no refund at all not even for travel back. I wont be using Hays again.

All the desks where manned and we were seen straight away. The consultant took all the relevant details to find us exactly what we were looking for. Helpful, polite and efficient.…

The young lady listened to our request and immediately got in touch with the relevant company to put both the travel arrangements and hotels. The whole thing was booked in about half an hour. The full itinerary arrived by email a couple of days later.

Travel agency relocating next door to bigger corner site in town centre

A ROMSEY travel agency is relocating next door to have a more visible and bigger spot in the town centre.

Hay Travel’s Romsey branch is moving from 27 The Hundred to 29/31 The Hundred, where Ladbrokes used to be, to better support its growing customer base.

Staff will be on site in the new corner shop from Tuesday, February 20 and be open for business on Thursday, February 22.

Natasha Elliott, branch manager, said: “We are incredibly excited to relocate to our new building, which is situated on a corner site – granting us more accessibility and visibility.

“Romsey is a town where a lot of people know each other and, alongside our marketing, word of mouth recommendations are our main source of exposure. Maintaining our excellent service but in a newer, bigger site gives us confidence that our community relations will flourish even more than before.”

Hays Travel Romsey was shortlisted as one of the top five agents in the south east region as part of TTG’s Top 50 Travel Agencies 2024 awards. The ceremony is on April 25 at Victoria Warehouse in Manchester.

Jane Schumm, Hays Travel’s retail director, said: “The capacity of the old Romsey branch didn’t suit the store’s needs and its growing customer base. We have been holding out for a bigger and newer building to maximise the branch’s potential and create a more comfortable environment for colleagues.

“2024 is set to be an exciting year, with the store on track to achieve a considerable percentage increase in sales and, of course, the upcoming TTG Awards – a nomination made possible by Romsey’s talented and hardworking staff, and which we are all very grateful for. We are thrilled to start this new chapter in a new building and wish Romsey colleagues every success.”

The Mayor will officially open the new branch on March 13 at 10am.

Hays travel to relocate ‘high performing’ romsey branch to larger site.

Hays Travel’s TTG Top 50 chasing Romsey branch in Hampshire is poised to move into new, larger premises to capitalise on the team’s strong relationship with the shop’s new and existing customers.

The team at the "high performing" market town agency, which is in the running for Top 50 Travel Agencies 2024 by TTG in the South East region , will relocate to their new corner site on Tuesday (20 February) where they will start trading on Thursday (22 February).

Branch manager Natasha Elliot said the new premises would make the store more accessible and visible.

“Romsey is a town where a lot of people know each other and, alongside our marketing, word-of-mouth recommendations are our main source of exposure," she said. "Maintaining our excellent service but in a newer, bigger site gives us confidence that our community relations will flourish even more than before."

The Romsey store generated 30% of its revenue from new customers last year, which Hays said underlined its ability to draw in new-to-Hays clients.

What you will do in your working day

Whilst beginning to learn about the business and how we operate, you will be provided with ongoing training and support to help develop your customer service and selling skills. You will learn how to adapt to working within a fast-paced sales environment, gain travel product knowledge and develop confidence and flair which will enable you to meet customer’s needs.

This apprenticeship is perfect to develop your passion for travel. Working in the sales division requires hard work, excellent customer service skills and a firm grasp on product knowledge. With a positive and results driven attitude, you will recommend a range of holiday experiences and ancillary products with a view to achieving your individual and team sales targets. You will also be focussed towards completing the apprenticeship programme with the determination to be successful in your role.

• Source and provide accurate and relevant travel information that will ensure customers have a positive travel experience
• Carry out transactions, using a range of reservation and booking systems
• Respond positively and imaginatively to customers’ requirements, demonstrating an enthusiasm to inspire and delight them

The training you will be getting

Our in-house experienced learning and development coaches are on hand to give you expert advice, one-to-one support and award-winning training throughout your apprenticeship. Many of our team leaders and managers started their careers as apprentices - so there’ll always be someone there to offer you help and guidance on the job.

• You will work towards a Level 3 Travel Consultant Apprenticeship, including Functional Skills in English and maths if required

• We pride ourselves on our training and progression opportunities and many of our current managers started with us as an apprentice
