3 days/2 nights in the wonderful "green garden" of Salalah flight options from Muscat or from Dubai

Morning flight from Muscat to Salalah or from Dubai to Salalah.

Salalah City Tour After arrival we visit the Museum for a guided tour of its display on archaeology, history and heritage from the Dhofar Region. Drive to the hotel for check-in.

In the afternoon we drive to town passing Al Baleed the site for an ancient harbour that is now being excavated. Walk along the Sultan’s Palace to the Frankincense Souk. Dhofar is well known for its perfume oils and incense and in the souk all the best fragrances of the Orient come together. We visit the gold souk to see the typical Dhofari jewellery. Our last stop is at the 14 footprints of the Prophet Saleh’s sacred camel.

Overnight / Breakfast in Salalah   Day 02:

In the morning discover Eastern Dhofar – The Frankincense Trail We stop at Ayn Razat, located at the foot of the Qara Mountains, with its natural springs, rich plants and flowers. Continue up the mountains, home of the Jebalis and their large herds of camel and cattle. In Sumhuram archaeological excavation site we inspect the ruins of this old frankincense port city and its store rooms. Continue along the coast and stop at Bin Ali Mosque and the grave of one holy man buried here in the 14th Century. Proceed to Mirbat, the former trading place for horses, and stroll around the old part of the town to admire the beautiful architecture and the old Dhofari houses. While returning to Salalah we stop at Taqa’s wonderful white sandy beach.

In the afternoon explore Western Dhofar – Wonders of Nature Drive across the impressive Qara Mountains and head south where the mountains turn lush green to reach Hiob’s Tomb, visited by Islamic pilgrims. We stop at frankincense trees and a bird sanctuary before reaching Mughsayl Beach, well-known for its blow holes, a natural wonder where the sea bursts up dramatically in regular intervals during high tide. Return to Salalah town and enjoy dinner in a typical local restaurant.

After your arrival at the Dubai International Airport and custom, immigration clearances, our friendly, smart and efficient Oman Safari Tours chauffeur will meet you at the general arrival lounge. DAY 02: HALF DAY DUBAI CITY TOUR & DINNER IN DHOW CRUISE

On the second day, your tour will begin in the morning. We pick you from the hotel at 09:00 am and drive for an exciting half day Dubai city tour. While driving pass through theDubai creek- to can see the natural salt water inlet in a historical part of the city that cuts through Bur Dubai and Deira.Gold & Spice Souks- a traditional market or souk that boasts of hundreds of trade retailers and provide an opportunity for enjoying wide varieties of shopping. Dubai museum at Bastakia area- This is an interactive museum located at Fahidi Fort and established in 1971.

Burj Khalifa- This world famous structure inaugurated in 2010 and currently is the world’s tallest structure, which boasts of 828m protruding the skyline of Down Town Dubai and has more than 160 floors (including the Armani residences & hotel resort). Jumeirah Mosque- This mosque is a tribute to modern Islamic architecture, which is a stone structure, built in the medieval Fatimid tradition.

Burj Al Arab- This is a famous sail shaped building, which is known as the fourth tallest hotel in the world. The Burj Al Arab stands on an artificial island.

The Jumeirah Palm Island- This is a group of artificial islands, which is constructed in the shape of a palm tree. The Jumeirah Palm Island contains luxury hotels (the Atlantis resort),  restaurants, beach side villas & apartments, water parks, marinas and sports facilities & health spas.

Dinner Dhow Cruise (Pickup: 7:00 PM, Drop Off: up to 11:00 PM)

On a wonderful dinner dhow cruise, you will get an opportunity to discover the true beauty of Dubai. By boarding a traditionally decorated wooden dhow (also known as cabin crew), you will sail along the Dubai Creek under the charming moonlight. During the cruise tour, you can see the major Dubai landmarks that shine through the moonlit sky. While the wooden vessel slips silently across the creek, you will come across the past and present architecture (like the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, National Bank of Dubai, the Heritage Village and the Sheikh Saeed’s house) of the area that is brought to its full beauty. Your memorable romantic evening cruise includes a buffet dinner (oriental or continental), soft drinks, mineral water and traditional coffee. DAY 03:  ARRIVAL TRANSFER SALALAH INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT TO HOTEL 

In the morning, you check out the hotel and then transferred to Dubai Airport for departure

(Your standard check out time is 12:00hrs). You then arrive at the Salalah international airport and undergo the quick and easy custom and immigration clearance. Thereafter, at the general arrival lounge, our friendly & efficient Oman Safari Tours chauffeur meet you and guide towards a comfortable and stylish vehicle to drive you to the hotel.

You will enjoy here an overnight stay in the Salalah Hotel (B).

DAY 04: FULL DAY EAST & WEST SALALAH  

Your excursion begins in the morning with a wonderful visit to the old fishing village of Taqah. This village is famous for manufacturing Dried Sardines and for its traditional and old Dhofari Houses. Thereafter, you visit the century old Taqah Castle, which was the former official residence of the ‘Wali’ (Governor) of the region. By visiting this castle, you will obtain a glimpse into the rich history of this region.

The tour then continues onto the ancient ruins of the once famous city of Sumharam (Khor Rohri). For the Hadramawt Kingdom, this city was the easternmost outpost on the ancient incense route between the Mediterranean Sea, Persian Gulf and India. Khor Rori or  Sumharam was once an important port on the coast of Dhofar and known as one of the major trading cities with frankincense. It is believed that this place has been the hub and harbor for shipping of Frankincense, as well as also rated UNESCO World Heritage site.

On your way back to western Salalah, you can explore the ever green Wadi Darbat and enjoy a relaxing stroll along the Wadi bed, which is surrounded by herds of camels, cattle, and goats. Especially in the Khareef season or the monsoon period, one could witness an almost 100m natural waterfall that beautifully spreads its tentacles into numerous lakes and lush green vegetation. You then proceed towards the Qara mountains to explore the western part of Salalah. We drive you on a road that steadily winds up to a steep incline where the herds of camels and cattle are a common sight. On this drive, you can also enjoy a scenic view of the traditional Dhofari’s rural beauty. You will then visit the ancient tomb of ‘Prophet Job” that is situated in the scenic green mountains of the Salalah Plains.

Thereafter, you proceed to the beach of Mughsail to witness the amazing white sand that touches the deep blue ocean and see the high tide (where the waves burst through the natural titanic Blow Holes that is at the far end of the Rocky Beach with a cave-like entrance. Then we continue along the ‘Hair-pin-bend’ road towards the Western Border of Oman to see its breathtaking cliffs (on the either side), the historical ‘Frankincense trees (growing in their natural habitat) deep down in the valleys and the dotting the dry & craggy countryside. You then get a chance to enjoy a short walk into the valleys to smell the Holy Incense amide the scenic view of the region.

Then we return to the Salalah hotel to enjoy an overnight stay at the hotel. (B).

DAY 05:  SALALAH HALF DAY CITY TOUR

In the morning, after having the breakfast, we take you to visit the Al Baleed museum of the Frankincense Land. This museum was opened in July 2007 at Al Balid Archaeological Park, which is a large archaeological site. Here you can stroll through and witness an impressive collection about the archaeological and maritime history of Oman.

(Open Sat – Wed 8:00 -14:00 & 16:00 – 20:00, Thu – Fri 16:00 – 20:00)

You will then get a chance to explore the Heritage souk to see the different types of Omani crafts and incense burners. Here you will have an exact view of the Arabian market. After visiting the souk, we take you to another famous souk- Gold souk that offers modern and oldens style Dhofari ornaments. Thereafter, you can visit an attractive souk- Haffah souk where small shops are lined up with straight piles of incense boxes, clay incense burners that are colorfully decorated with traditional patterns and bags of incense crystals. On your way to the Haffah souk, you can see the typical Dhofari houses that have caravan windows and doors. While walking past the Sultan Residential Palace- Al Husn and explore the Old Souk where cosmetics, Frankincense and Dhofari traditional clothes are available for sale. Before returning to the hotel, you can visit the ancient city Zufar, the ruins of Al Balid, which was once visited by Ibn Batuta and Marco Polo. You will be impressed to learn about the beautiful, large and noble city.

DAY 06:  FINAL DEPARTURE TO SALALAH AIRPORT

Your departure transfers to Airport will be arranged by us to connect the flight back home as per flight timing.

Dubai to Salalah By Bus

Salalah is accessible by road from United Arab Emirates as Oman and UAE shares a border. So all seven Emirates of United Arab Emirates;  Sharjah ,  Dubai ,  Ras al-Khaimah,  Abu Dhabi ,  Ajman ,  Fujairah  and  Umm al-Qaiwain  are connected to Oman and Salalah by road. So no matter where you are living in UAE, you can come to Salalah by Road.

From Dubai to Salalah by bus, the travel time is around 16 hours, which can change depends on the load in the immigration office at the border. This bus departs from Deira. This is a 45 seats air-conditioned bus and is the only direct Dubai to Salalah bus service.

Trip Itinerary

20th July 2023 , Thursday – Day 1

The bus will Depart from Dubai Bus Station (GTC Bus Station) at 2 pm. Location for meet up will be shared. Reach the spot at least one hour before the bus departure time.

21st July 2023, Friday – Day 2

Arrival at Salalah GTC Bus Station around 7 am. Don’t miss the last hour journey on the bus thats the most fascinating one. You will discover the mesmerizing landscape of the Dhofar mountains. The view of Salalah city at dawn from the mountains is amazing. 

Beautiful Salalah team will meet and greet you in Salalah Bus Station. Drop the luggage at the hotel (hotel check in will be after 2 pm). We will go to have  Breakfast and then we will take you to the West Salalah Tour. 

Sightseeing Tour 1 – West Salalah Tour

The group will depart for a memorable tour on the western side of Salalah – Full Day West Salalah Tour after the breakfast. 

This tour will have a mesmerizing journey to the western side of Salalah city for full day and includes the  following places 

∙ Ayn Jarziz – the popular natural spring 

∙ Ittin Mountains on Jabal Qara – cave, a small trek and a great view of Salalah city from an  altitude of over a thousand feet. 

∙ Prophet Ayub (Prophet Job) Tomb and spring – The prophet is mentioned in The Holy  Quran and the Holy Bible. 

∙ Titam Canyons – The mountain safari will continue to Titam  

∙ Frankincense farm, a photo stop on the way to Mughsail  

∙ Mughsail Beach – the famous white sand beach  

∙ Blowholes at Marneef cave – Mughsail Natural Fountains, the water jet from the blowholes  vary according to the season. 

∙ Masood Hidden Beach , is a Secret Beach in Salalah. You can see from the top view point in a  photo stop. 

First Night Stay in the hotel 

Check in to the hotel room will be after the return from the tour. The hotel will be 3-star Hamdan Plaza Hotel. The room provided will be the standard room. If you want  to upgrade to the deluxe or premium room, there will be an additional charge. Free wifi is provided in  the hotel. Hotel is near the Salalah Gardens Mall, which is the most popular mall in Salalah. You can walk  to the mall from the hotel for dinner. Dinner is not included in the package.

Sightseeing Tour 2 – East Salalah Tour

At 9 am, the group will depart for a memorable tour on the eastern side of Salalah – Full Day East Salalah  Tour. This mesmerizing tour on eastern side of Salalah is filled with amazing landscapes, mountain,  beaches and history – all in one tour & includes all the following places: 

∙ Taqa Castle , one of Dhofar’s most distinguished landmarks, built in the 19th century. And a  drive through Taqa Town 

∙ Taqa Beach and Cliff overlooking the beach 

∙ Wadi Darbat and the seasonal waterfalls – cascade waterfall and Travertines. The valley has  a canal where you can do kayaking or boating overlooking Jabal Al Qara / Dhofar Mountains

∙ Jabal Samhan , which is the highest point in Dhofar region and is above 4000 feet. Clouds are  below the view point.

23rd July 2023, Sunday – Day 4

You will be transferred to the Bus Station at 5:00 AM. The GTC bus will depart at 6 am. Have a safe Journey. You will reach Dubai around 10:00 pm.

• Need fully vaccination certificate, covid travel insurance and PCR (if applicable), Oman Travel Registration and other covid related requirement as per law.
• All travelers arriving in the Sultanate are required to present a COVID-19 vaccine certificate containing a QR Code stating that they have received two doses of any COVID-19 vaccine approved in Oman Pfizer BioNTech, Oxford Astrazeneca, Covishield AstraZeneca, Sputnik, Sinovac, Moderna, and Sinopharm, or a single dose of Johnson & Johnson. The last dose is required to have been received not less than fourteen (14) days ahead of the estimated arrival time. The Ministry of Health publishes and updates the list of vaccines approved in Oman.
• Pre-registration via ( https://travel.moh.gov.om/ ) and upload the vaccine certificate containing QR Codes.

The excursion begins in the morning with a visit to the old fishing village of 'Taqah', famous for themanufacture of 'Dried Sardines' & its traditional & old 'Dhofari Houses'.Visit the century old 'Taqah Castle', the former official residence of the 'Wali' (Governor) of theregion & obtain a glimpse into the rich history of the region.Continue onto the ancient ruins of the once famous city of Sumharam (Khor Rohri). The city was theeasternmost outpost of the Hadramawt Kingdom on the ancient incense route between theMediterranean Sea, Persian Gulf and India. Khor Rori was an important port on the coast of Dhofar,and one of the major trading cities with frankincense, believed to have been the hub & harbour forthe shipping of Frankincense (UNESCO World Heritage site).On the way back to western Salalah, explore the 'ever green Wadi Darbat' for a relaxing stroll along the Wadi bed, surrounded by herds of Camels, Goats & Cattle. In the Khareef season (monsoonperiod), one could also witness an almost 100m natural Waterfall, spreading its ‘tentacles’ intonumerous lakes & lush green Vegetation.Thereafter proceed to 'Qara' mountains to explore the western part of Salalah.On a road steadily winding up a steep incline, herds of Camels & Cattle are a common sight whichgives a scenic view of a traditional Dhofari rural beauty. Visit the ancient tomb of 'Prophet Job'situated in the scenic green mountains of the Salalah Plains. Experience the legendary story of Prophet Job and his devoutness.Proceed to the beach of Mughsail where the white sand touches the deep blue of the ocean & at hightide, where waves burst through the natural titanic 'Blow Holes', at the far end of the 'Rocky beach'with a cave-like entrance.Continue along the 'Hair-pin-bend' road towards Western Border of Oman, with its breathtakingcliffs on either side, to see the historical 'Frankincense trees' growing in their natural habitat, deep down in the valleys, dotting the dry & craggy countryside.Take a short walk into the valleys to smell the 'Holy Incense' amidst the scenic view of the region.
