How Many Points Needed For Tourism Management At CPUT?

Admission to CPUT’s Tourism Management program is based on meeting certain academic requirements, English language competency requirements, and points requirements. It’s important to keep up with the most recent point criteria and admission requirements. Let’s look into the requirements for entry and the points needed for a degree in tourism management at CPUT.

Minimum Admission Requirements For Tourism Management At CPUT

National Senior Certificate (NSC/ Grade 12) with An achievement rating of at least (4) or more in four NSC 20-credit subjects from the subject list and specific course requirements:

  • English (4) 50%
  • Mathematics (2) 30% or Mathematical Literacy (4) 50%

At least one of the following: Economics, Tourism, Hospitality Studies, Accounting, Business Studies, Consumer Science, History, or Geography

Once you’ve met the minimum admission standards, the department will use your Admission Point Score (APS) as a selection factor. Additionally, you must receive a minimum score of 28 in mathematics or 30 in mathematical literacy on the APS, as well as 24 in math and 26 in math for the ECP on the APS.

Additional Admission Requirements

  • Motivation letter: Indicating reasons for applying, your understanding of the industry, and possible career options.
  •  Applicants who apply to study part-time must be employed on a full-time basis.

CPUT Diploma Entry Requirements 2024-2025

  • You must meet the qualification’s individual subject admission requirements. In addition, you must meet the minimum Admissions Point Score (APS) requirements for the qualification for which you are applying.
  • You also need to pass your National Senior Certificate (NSC) before you can get an acceptance letter from CPUT for diploma studies. A mark above the average may guarantee admission to the Cape Peninsula University of Technology.
  • You should also pass your National Certificate (Vocation) with at least LEVEL PASS and APS OF 28 with Maths and 29 with Tech Maths.
