Q. How can one reach Ooty? A. Popularly known as the Queen of Hills, Ooty or Udhagamandalam is the most admired hill station in South India. A number of Ooty travel packages are available for tourists to choose from. This picturesque hill station is easily accessible by various means of transport Coimbatore Airport is approximately 85 kilometres away and is the nearest airport that connects Ooty to the rest of the country via an extensive network of flights from networks like Air India, IndiGo and SpiceJet. For international connectivity, Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru is 310 kilometres away from Ooty but is the closest to this hill station. These airports are well connected with buses and taxis for tourists to travel to Ooty. Approximately 40 kilometres away from Ooty, Mettupalayam is the nearest railway station and various trains are available from cities like Chennai, Coimbatore, Mysore and Bengaluru. Buses and cabs are available outside the railway station for Ooty. The Heritage Nilgiri Mountain Toy Train which takes you through thick forests and dark tunnels also starts from Mettupalayam and goes all the way to Ooty. The best way to travel to Ooty is by road. You can drive through the Reserve Forest Area and stunning scenery. Once in a while elephants can also be spotted in this belt. The road trip from Bengaluru to Ooty via Mysore takes around 7-8 hours and is a road trip worth cherishing. Bus services are also available from Kempegowda Bus Terminal, Bangalore and ISBT, Mysore Road, Bengaluru with a number of semi deluxe and deluxe buses for Ooty. Q. What is the weather of Ooty like? A. Ooty is a year round destination. The seasonal variations in its temperature are not extreme and each season brings out the best of this popular hill station. Doddabetta Peak: Located at an altitude of 2623 meters, Doddabetta Peak is the highest peak in the Nilgiris. At the junction of Western and Eastern Ghats, it is around 10 km away from Ooty.   DAY 1: Arrival at Calicut (Calicut-Wayanad)

  On the arrival at Calicut International Airport, our representatives will receive you and transfer you to Wayanad. On the way to Wayanad you can visit Lakkidi view point and Ghats’s road view point and also glimpse of legend chain tree. Check in the resort on reaching the destination and take rest. In the afternoon let’s visit Pookod Lake, Banasura Sagar Dam-its known as largest earth dam in India and have fun going for boating.  Relax the whole day as leisure. Overnight stay at Wayanad. (1st Day Sightseeing depends upon Arrival time)

  DAY 2: Wayanad Sightseeing

  After having your breakfast, move on to various sightseeing destinations in Wayanad, let’s start with Soojipara Waterfalls,  Edakkal Caves, Jain temple at Sulthan bathery and Visit Karapuzha dam. Later return back to Resort. Overnight stay at Wayanad.

  DAY 3: Wayanad – Ooty by road

  Enjoy the delicious breakfast at hotel and Check out. Drive to Ooty via Mudumalai forest. On the way visit Muthanga wild life sanctuary and experience a jeep ride (Extra Cost). On the way visit Needle rock view point and Pykara Boating. On arrival at Ooty, Check in to resort and relax the day. Overnight stay at Ooty.

  DAY 4: Full Day Ooty Sightseeing

  Enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of Ooty on today. After breakfast, Visit Ooty Lake, Roase garden, Botanical garden and Doddabetta Peak. Later return back to hotel. Overnight stay.

  DAY 5: Ooty – Coimbatore Drop

  DAY 01 COCHIN – GURUVAYOOR

  On your arrival at Kochi (Airport / Railway Station / Bus Station) you will be received by our representatives welcoming you to Gods on Country. Proceed to Guruvayoor. If time permits visit athirapally waterfalls. Enroute visit Mammiyur Mahadeva Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and Parthasarathy Temple. If you are not going to these temples you can visit The Devaswom Museum, located inside the Shree Guruvayoorappan Temple complex.On arrival at Guruvayoor,check-in to hotel. Guruvayur Sri Krishna Temple is a temple dedicated to god Guruvayurappan (a four-armed affiliation of the Hindu god Vishnu).Afternoon visit Punnathur kotta also known as Anakkotta (meaning "Elephant Fort"). Earlier a palace of a local king is now the place of gigantic tuskers dedicated to Lord Krishna’s Guruvayoor Temple. You can see more than 50 elephants of various sizes and shapes at the place. 

  Back to the hotel and get prepared to have the evening darshan at the Guruvayoor temple. Note that the present timing is the Temple is opened from 3:30 AM to 12:30 PM and from 6:00 PM to 9:15 PM.   After breakfast, proceed to Munnar the picturesque hill stations in India. On the way to Munnar view the pristine Attukad waterfalls otherwise known as Attukal Waterfalls (seasonal).   DAY 03 SIGHTSEEING OF MUNNAR

  After an elaborate breakfast at the hotel we will take you taken for a full day sightseeing tour of Munnar. Sightseeing tour around Munnar takes one to tea gardens where picturesque colonial towns and meandering mountain streams present photo opportunities galore. You will be taken for a visit to Rajamalai where you can watch Nilgiri Thar in their natural habitat. You will also be visiting the nearby Mattuppetty Dam, Kundala Lake, Echo point, Blossom park. Have a boating in the lake which will give you a rejuvenating feel.

  DAY 04 MUNNAR - THEKKADY

  After breakfast, drive to Thekkady. This will be an action pack day for you since you are staying only for a day. The very sound of the word Thekkady conjures up images of elephants, unending chains of hills and spice scented plantations. The Periyar forest of Thekkady is one of the finest wildlife reserves in India. Spread across the entire district is picturesque plantations and hill towns that hold great opportunities for treks and mountain walks.

  Near to reaching Thekkady you have the option to go for a plantation tour where you will get an understanding of the spices of Kerala. They will explain to you about the plants and how the spices are processed. After lunch proceed for the famous boating at the Periyar lake. Periyar lake is inside the Periyar wildlife sanctuary where you might be able to see animals in close quarters. Later come back and take a walk in the local market where you can buy genuine spices.
