Events Communication Manager

Responsibilities

  • Own and develop value proposition and messaging for events aligned to our Experience Marketing portfolio. 
  • Build detailed marketing communications plan for assigned events including proprietary programs
  • Create marketing assets such as emails, templates, social media posts, copy, website development plans and roadmap, digital and on-site experiences. 
  • Ensure the sales field understands the programs and calls to action
  • Deliver full marcom projects on time

The Executive Director of Prospect Management provides leadership and strategic direction for the Department of Development’s prospect and portfolio management program in support of major, principal, and senior principal gift fundraisers, corporate and foundation relations, and transformational gifts across the enterprise. The Executive Director of Prospect Management directs the planning and execution of all prospect and portfolio management processes, including portfolio construction and optimization, portfolio reviews, proposal tracking, and will support the execution of campaigns for Mayo Clinic’s key strategic priorities. The Executive Director of Prospect Management will have oversight of prospect assignment processes and will ensure that prospects are assigned in accordance with department guidelines. The Executive Director of Prospect Management also will partner with Development Technology Services to manage prospect management data integrity and develop and/or refine dashboards, visualizations, and other tools to drive efficiency and fundraising performance.

The Executive Director of Prospect Management will partner with the Senior Executive Director of Prospect Research and Management and the Director of Prospect Development to manage the on-going execution of proactive and reactive prospect identification processes. This will include querying lists of potential prospects, creating and assigning prospect identification projects, managing data integrity and quality control of identification project results, and the assignment of newly identified prospects in accordance with departmental guidelines and the needs of fundraisers for new prospects.

The Executive Director of Prospect Management will also recruit and hire new prospect management staff; will have oversight for onboarding, training, and professional development activities for the prospect management team; and will lead the prospect management team’s role in the on-boarding of new fundraisers and the ongoing training of current staff across the department. The Executive Director of Prospect Management may be called on to act in the absence of the Senior Executive Director of Prospect Research and Management.

Bachelor’s degree is required. Advanced degree is preferred. A minimum of seven to ten years of relevant experience, including five years of prospect management experience is required. Other relevant experience may include prospect research, data analysis, financial analysis, consulting and related. Prior management or supervisory experience or demonstrated management or supervisory ability is required. Experience with comprehensive or large capital campaigns or principal giving programs is required and experience in health care or higher education is strongly preferred. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar tools is required. Proficiency with Blackbaud CRM or similar CRM software is required. Experience with data analytics and reporting are strongly preferred. Experience training or mentoring individuals or groups in skills, techniques, and methodologies of prospect management and/or prospect research or similar work is required.

Experience in conceiving and implementing innovative and efficient analytical solutions to address business challenges or to meet organizational goals/objectives is required. Must possess superior skill in making independent and thoughtful decisions in support of customer and departmental needs. Must possess an advanced knowledge of prospect management techniques, tools and methodologies needed to develop and implement data-driven processes. Must possess a keen attention to detail with the ability to think creatively and recognize connections between and among pieces of information. Must be self-motivated, self-directed, and highly organized and capable of working well under deadlines. Must successfully manage multiple projects with competing and/ or shifting priorities while maintaining a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality. Must have excellent oral and written communications skills and demonstrated ability to give clear and actionable instruction to colleagues when providing assistance or supervising a task. The incumbent must be able to work effectively in a consensus-style operation that expects and promotes teamwork. Must be comfortable with ambiguity. Belief in the mission and strong ethical conduct is essential.

DaySavers founder Harrison Bard (pictured above) unveiled the "Ultimate Stoner Dream Job."

DaySavers is offering what it is calling the “Ultimate Stoner Dream Job,” an opportunity to smoke and test out trending cannabis products, take part in an array of cannabis industry events, and share it with the world, all while getting paid over $70,000 per year.

Imagine getting paid to smoke, savor, and review a variety of ancillary pre-roll and smoking products. DaySavers is utilizing an alternative way to fill this unique creator position.

DaySavers is a compliant, transparent smoking accessories brand launched by Custom Cones USA . The company releases accessories such as Fill-a Blunts , Smoke Temple , and other top pre-roll, rolling paper, and cone brands.

One full-time creator and event marketer will be chosen to earn $70,420—complete with annual bonuses, travel expenses, and other perks. Applicants will also have the chance to be selected for one of many part-time jobs with similar tasks. The content creator’s role will depend on the type of content the applicant makes as well as the state they live in.

“The impetus behind it was looking for creative outlets,” says Custom Cones USA co-founder Harrison Bard. As social media influencers are difficult to reach for recruiters, Bard says they turned to alternative methods: “We wanted to cast out a wider net to reach more talent and people to work with,” he says.

“The reason why we call it a ‘dream job’ is because a lot of people are super passionate about cannabis but very few are able to actually be in the industry professionally,” he says.

Bard is a member of the Rolling Stone Culture Council, and co-founded Custom Cones USA, a leading ancillary company in the pre-roll space, working with publicly-traded LPs and MSOs, leading American brands, and companies of various sizes, with an emphasis on the pre-roll sector. This requires a know-how of paper science, pre-roll manufacturing technology and techniques, and a solid understanding of packaging and compliance regulations. Likewise, he needs a content creator with valuable connections in the sector.

“We're looking for someone that has a good grasp of social media in general, potentially content creators themselves, or has worked as a social media manager within a small or large company,” Bard says. “Candidates are really diverse, so they're going to need to stand out in the sense of if they have good writing skills, if they have interesting style in terms of being able to do photos and videos created by themselves, and then to be able to comfortable in front of a camera.”

“This person is a higher-level performer, very creative, delivering high quality, creative content,” says Bard.

Pre-Roll Product Domination

Pre-rolls are one of the fastest-growing product segments in the industry today— outperforming other product segments .

“There's a lot of different data points and they all point to one narrative: that convenience is king,” Bard says. “You can see that across industries, with service restaurants getting more popular, frozen meals providing much more healthy frozen meals and vegan frozen meals.”

The same concept is the same with pre-rolls that are already made, as well as other cannabis products. “The whole point of an all-in-one-disposable vape pen is that it’s fast, easy, and convenient,” he says. “And that kind of flies in the face of environmental sustainability, which is another huge trend, based on the data people are placing convenience over their care for environmental sustainability.”

People may talk about saving the environment, but they are talking with their wallets and still buying products that are convenient. A key point of the brand is testing everything for heavy metals, pesticides, microbials, and being transparent about what the product actually is. Bard explained how accessories are not regulated by anyone, whereas tobacco and cannabis products are heavily regulated by the FDA and so on. This creates a space where accessories are marketed freely.

“You've heard the term ‘rice paper’?” Bard asks. “That's a lie. There's really no such thing as rice paper. So that’s just like a marketing term, to get people to think that that paper was better than another paper.”

DaySavers and Custom Cones USA

So what are some of DaySavers’ flagship SKUs that are currently hitting the market?

“One of our favorites is going to be the Perfect Pack —an electronic pre-roll filling machine,” Bard says. “One of the main benefits of it is that it fills up products from the bottom to the top.” (Watch how it works here .) The idea of the Perfect Pack is to produce uniform pre-rolls in the shape of a cigarette, but it doesn’t leave loose filter tips like most other similar products do.

“And then the other really popular products are our Pre-Roll Tubes with tips. We have glass tips and flavored tips . And then all of those filters are available for roll your own.”

He went on to explain that for some, rolling is an art form and a ritual for proud of flavored wood for people. In most friend groups, there is a go-to roller. But then for other people, rolling can be hard, but the tubes make it much easier.

Bard explained how DaySavers and Custom Cones USA don’t use cheap botanical terpenes, or add aromas that are misleadingly marketed as “flavors.” They’re using the real thing: “Our wooden tips are actually flavored directly onto the onto the wooden tip infused on the outside of the so when you put it in your mouth, even without trying smoking, you can tastes it when you start licking your lips afterwards, that sweet sugar flavor.”

The TQ team reports to the Learning and Development Manager and is responsible for design and delivery of classroom and computer-based safety and compliance training. This individual will oversee a staff of instructors who are responsible for the analysis, design, development and implementation of safety and compliance training courses and programs as well as assuring that the Brookhaven Training and Qualifications Management System (BTMS, Brookhaven’s Learning Management System) is performing effectively.

Job Description:

  • Develop and execute against a lab-wide training strategy for Training and Qualifications
  • Review and assess current safety and compliance training programs, regulatory drivers, and requirements.
  • Oversee a staff of instructors who are responsible for the analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation of safety and compliance training solutions, and programs as well as assuring that the Learning Management System is performing effectively. 
  • Conduct observations of training instructors for revisions or implementation of instructor-led training courses. Provide real-time coaching for improved performance.
  • Create and revitalize training solutions that ensure high levels of competency and strategically align with the mission of the Laboratory.
  • Partner with management, Subject-Matter Experts, and other stakeholders to develop and/or revise blended solutions that may include classroom and web-based compliance training programs.
  • Serve as an onsite, and virtual, classroom instructor and facilitator.
  • Collaborate/partner with Learning and Development Manager for the identification, planning, and budgeting of all training initiatives and programs. This may include, but not limited to interpreting and cascading expectations of performance as outlined in regulatory documents, as well as leadership agenda items.
  • Collaborate with additional resource owners to plan and execute all aspects of safety and compliance training.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience providing subject matter expertise on training delivery, instructional design, compliance, and/or worker health and safety training.
  • Hands on experience with classroom and web-based training design and delivery
  • Demonstrated experience using a systematic approach (e.g., ADDIE) for training design and delivery.
  • Prior supervisory experience.
  • Strong facilitation, interpersonal, and communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and work collaboratively.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and focused on high-quality delivery of work products.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and project management skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of e-learning software (e.g., Articulate, Storyline) and the application of Learning Management Systems
  • Experience in a scientific environment and /or working in a regulated training environment or within the DOE complex.
  • Experience in a nuclear environment or delivering against a nuclear training plan.

Brookhaven National Laboratory is committed to providing fair, equitable and competitive compensation. The full salary range for this position is $121700 - $194250 / year. Salary offers will be commensurate with the final candidate’s qualification, education and experience and considered with the internal peer group.
