Paris-Nice 2024: Arvid de Kleijn sprints to memorable first ever World Tour win on Stage 2

Oli Gent

Updated 04/03/2024 at 17:05 GMT

Arvid de Kleijn secured his first WorldTour victory on Stage 2 of Paris-Nice. The Dutchman's stage win was also poignant for his team, Tudor Pro Cycling. The Swiss team had also never won at WorldTour level, but De Kleijn sprinted clear of the rest to seal a memorable victory for both himself and his team. Laurence Pithie, of Groupama-FDJ, finished in second place and holds the yellow jersey.

The route for the Paris-Nice eight-day bike race unveiled Tuesday has the added draw of resembling more than ever a mini Tour de France, which also ends on the Riviera in 2024 so as to avoid the Olympic Games in Paris.

Won last year by Tadej Pogacar as Denmark's Jonas Vingegaard came third on the Promenade des Anglais finish line in downtown Nice, organisers hope to also attract rising Belgian star Remco Evenepoel for the 2024 edition.

"There's hope he'll be on the roster this year," said race CEO Christian Prudhomme.

Known as "The Race to the Sun", the eight days of action are packed with a variety of challenges starting with a team time-trial and the vast and windy plains south of Paris.

The race speeds down the Rhone and Loire valleys, takes in the remote Ardeche and then the rugged peaks of Haute Provence.

2024 Paris-Nice Resembles Tour de France

But with two mountaintop finishes, there is a taste of the Alps before a downhill dash to the seafront at Nice on March 10.

"Paris-Nice will serve as a dress rehearsal and the riders love to practise in race conditions," said Prudhomme.

Pogacar won three stages in 2023 and relegated French climber David Gaudu to second with eventual Tour de France winner Vingegaard third at 1min 39sec.

The final two days cover many of the roads upon which the 2024 Tour de France finale will play out as the world's biggest bike race finishes outside Paris for the first time in its history.

Paris-Nice preview: What will the ‘Race to the Sun’ reveal about the Tour de France?

Tadej pogačar and jonas vingegaard face off for the first time in a stage race since july. yet the 'race to the sun' is more than a two-horse race..

Heading out the door? Read this article on the new Outside+ app available now on iOS devices for members! >","name":"in-content-cta","type":"link"}}'>Download the app .

Will next week’s Paris-Nice tell us a lot about the 2023 Tour de France?

Very much so.

On the surface, the race will be on for the spoils of the eight-day romp lovingly called the “Race to the Sun” as the course rolls south out of dreary Paris, past the lonesome wheat fields of the Loire Valley and the edges of the Massif Central before busting out into the spring splendor of the Côte d’Azur.

And in most editions of Paris-Nice, that’s where the story starts and ends.

  • Analyzing the power numbers of Paris-Nice
  • Israel Premier Tech down to one rider
  • Roglič banishes demons with Paris-Nice win

But this year will be different. Why?

Because Tadej Pogačar and Jonas Vingegaard will face off for the first time in a stage race since July.

The eight-day “Race to the Sun” is usually more like spring training, with stage-hunters and rising GC stars typically hogging the spotlight, but with the peloton’s two best stage racers in the field, bragging rights and ego-measuring should heat things up real fast.

It’s a shame that Egan Bernal (Ineos Grenadiers), a winner at Paris-Nice in 2019 ahead of his historic yellow jersey that summer, will not be racing due to a knee injury.

It’s rare that a Paris-Nice winner goes on to win the Tour a few months later.

In fact, the last rider to do that was Bernal in 2o19. Bradley Wiggins also pulled the Paris-Nice-Tour double in 2012, and with both Pogačar and Vingegaard in the field, it could happen again this summer.

Still, there are plenty of storylines in France’s second most important stage race (sorry, Critérium du Dauphiné), so let’s dive in:

Pogo vs. Vingo, last-chance stage race saloon

OK, we don’t want to hype this too much, but this is the first time the pair is facing off since last summer’s Tour de France. In a stage race, at least, because they did race together at Il Lombardia in October.

And Paris-Nice will mark the only time their stage race calendars will likely overlap before July, so next week will count for a lot.

Of course, what happens in March will not dictate what happens in July. Neither are at their respective peaks.

But what happens next week will shape what the peloton and fans will see in the Tour de France.

A multitude of questions about training, rosters, equipment, and even the approach toward the Tour will be answered next week.

Both are already flying out of the gate. Pogačar won Jaén Paraíso Natural and the Ruta del Sol, while Vingegaard won all three stages that were contested and the overall at his season debut at Gran Camiño in Spain.

Long gone are the days of using races as preparation for larger goals. Both will be lining up to win, even more so since neither has won Paris-Nice before.

And since it’s the only other stage race until the Tour that both will be racing in the same lineup, well, big things are bound to happen.

On paper, the rolling stage profiles and relatively shorter climbs will favor Pogačar’s punchier style, but Vingegaard is also a rider for all terrain.

A unique twist on the team time trial in stage 3 will tilt the first part of the race in Jumbo-Visma’s favor, setting up what could be a thrilling preview in the closing weekend above France’s sparkling Côte d’Azur of what lies ahead in the heat of summer.

Of course, neither could win, and you can bet both will be playing down expectations, but you can also bet the bank that both riders and both teams will be going full gas next week.

Pride is on the line, and it’s becoming more and more obvious that Jumbo-Visma and UAE Team Emirates do not like to finish second.

It will be interesting to see how rival teams and riders can try to find an opening.

Who else could muscle in on the podium

paris nice tour de france

Of course, no race — especially one as prestigious and historical as Paris-Nice — is just between two big names.

The field is solid, with riders such as Romain Bardet (Team DSM), Ben O’Connor (Ag2r-Citroën), Daniel Martínez (Ineos Grenadiers), Jack Haig (Bahrain Victorious), Bob Jungels and two-time winner Max Schachmann (Bora-Hansgrohe), and Simon Yates (Jayco-AlUla) also riding for the spoils.

There’s a fleet of younger riders looking to step up, including Matteo Jorgenson (Movistar), Neilson Powless (EF Education-EasyPost), Mattias Skjelmose (Trek Segafredo), Ethan Hayter (Ineos Grenadiers), and the entire Uno-X squad.

Paris-Nice sees its annual trove of sprinters and classics-bound bullies, including Mads Pedersen (Trek Segafredo), Arnaud De Lie (Lotto Dstny), Tim Merlier, and the Soudal Quick-Step squad, Michael Matthews (Jayco-AlUla), Stefan Küng (Groupama FDJ), and Kaden Groves (Alpecin-Deceuninck).

There’s never a dull moment in the Race to the Sun.

Chasing the French ‘soleil’

paris nice tour de france

Paris-Nice kicks off — no surprise — near Paris and ends along the cozy environs of Nice.

Anyone who’s followed the race knows that early March can deliver horrid weather, especially as the route plows across the flat farm country south of Paris where echelons often play out.

The edges of the Massif Central are laden with race-altering traps.

It’s only finally when the course drives toward the Côte d’Azur that the weather typically opens.

Just like teams, race organizers ASO are also trying out new things.

Paris-Nice breaks new ground with a tweak on timing for the stage 3 team time trial.

Rather than take the time of the fourth or fifth rider across the line, as is the case of most team time trials, officials will set the time taken to the first rider. That means teams can sacrifice more riders early, and then set up their fastest rider to sprint to the line.

The change will also stop a whole team from sweeping the top GC standings, officials said.

It will be interesting to see the reaction from the riders and teams, and if the rule is later used in grand tours.

In addition to the TTT, a mix of sprint stages and breakaway profiles dominate the race until the Col de la Couillole in stage 6. There’s no prologue or individual time trial, so the GC should remain undecided until the final weekend.

At an altitude of 1,678 m, the pass is still the highest ever climbed in Paris-Nice. Sunday’s finale over Col d’Eze will keep things tight until the final dash on the Promenade des Anglais.

Preview Paris-Nice 2024 | Year after Pogacar vs. Vingegaard, now BORA-Roglic against Tour-Evenepoel!

T he Race to the Sun, here we go! Paris-Nice is known in the peloton as one of the toughest stage races on the calendar, where the level of nervousness rivals that of the Tour de France. Not surprising, as classic riders, sprinters and general classification contenders all show up in top form here. IDLProCycling.com guides you through the 2024 edition!

Just one glance at the recent honor roll tells you enough: this is no race for the faint-hearted. With Tadej Pogacar, Egan Bernal and Geraint Thomas, three Tour de France winners are on the recent list of victors, while Primoz Roglic and Richie Porte have also stood on the podium of the world's biggest race. Looking even further, you will find more stars including Bradley Wiggins and Alberto Contador.

Last year, Paris-Nice was the setting for a grand duel between Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard, with the Slovenian dominating over his Danish rival. This season, both gentlemen prefer Tirreno-Adriatico.

Paris-Nice 2024: Course, favorites daily wins and times

Stage 1, sunday, march 3: les mureaux - les mureaux (158.0 km).

Paris-Nice kicks off with a tricky stage, where the peloton will face several challenging hills in the final phase of the race, hitting double-digit gradients. Both strong sprinters and breakaway hopefuls will be eyeing success here.

10.6 km: Cote de Bazemont (1.7 km at 6.6%)

90.8 km: Cote d'Herbeville (2.6 km at 5.1%)

119.9 km: Cote de Bazemont (1.7 km at 6.6%)

Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek)

Michael Matthews (Jayco AlUla)

Arnaud De Lie (Lotto-Dstny)

Start: 1:15 PM

Finish 4:38 PM

Stage 2, Monday, March 4: Thoiry - Montargis (179 km)

The second stage of Paris-Nice is a great opportunity for the sprinters. There are hardly any significant elevation gains, so normally all the sprinter teams will be on high alert for this golden chance in Montargis.

12.6 km: Cote des Mesnuls (1.2 km at 5.7%)

66.5 km: Cote de Villerconin (0.7 km at 6.3%)

Olav Kooij (Visma | Lease a Bike)

Fabio Jakobsen (dsm-firmenich PostNL)

Dylan Groenewegen (Jayco AlUla)

Start: 12:35 PM

Finish 4:34 PM

Stage 3, Tuesday, March 5: Auxerre - Auxerre (26.9 km)

A 27-kilometer team time trial on day three serves as a stern test in Paris-Nice. Around Auxerre, the riders and teams will need to overcome some elevation gains in the first half before heading towards the finish in a flat line.

UAE-Team Emirates

Soudal Quick-Step

Visma | Lease a Bike

Start: 2:40 PM

Stage 4, Wednesday, March 6: Chalon-sur-Saone - Mont Brouilly (183 km)

This stage could be described as the French equivalent of the well-known 'walls stage' in Tirreno-Adriatico. It features seven climbs, with the organizers indicating six of them with the warning triangle (gradients above 13%). The stage concludes with a finish atop Mont Brouilly, a three-kilometer hill averaging 7.7 percent.

33.4 km: Cote du Mont-Saint-Vincent (2.9 km at 6.3%)

88.8 km: Col de Boubon (4.4 km at 6%)

104.1 km: Cote de Vauxrenard (3.2 km at 6.7%)

127.5 km: Col de Durbize (2.2 km at 9.4%)

144.2 km: Mont Brouilly (3 km at 7.7%)

161, 1 km: Col du Fut d'Avenas (5.1 km at 7.3%)

183.0 km: Mont Brouilly (3 km at 7.7%)

Primoz Roglic ( BORA-hansgrohe)

Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step)

Mattias Skjelmose (Lidl-Trek)

Start: 12:00 PM

Stage 5, Thursday, March 7: Saint-Saveur-de-Montagut - Sisteron (193.5 km)

The fifth stage of Paris-Nice is a toss-up. The strong sprinters will surely want to seize their chance, but the breakaway riders might also see an opportunity. Therefore, everyone should keep their eyes peeled in the opening phase.

82.5 km: Col de la Sausse (2.7 km at 5.2%)

118.1 km: Col de Peyruergue (5.4 km at 4.9%)

146.2 km: Cote de la Rochette-du-Buis (2.4 km at 5.4%)

Kaden Groves (Alpecin-Deceunick)

Start: 11:55 AM

Finish 4:31 PM

Stage 6, Friday, March 8: Sisteron - La Colle-sur-Loup (198.5 km)

The Friday stage in Paris-Nice could be a typical transitional stage. The day includes six hills, with the notably steep Cote de la Colle-sur-Loup, averaging ten percent, possibly standing out. After the final climb, there are ten kilometers left, leading up to a nasty uphill finish. It is an ideal stage for the classic specialists.

69.8 km: Col des Leques (6.6 km at 5%)

87.4 km: Col de Luens (6.8 km at 4.7%)

92.6 km: Cote de la Blachette (3 km at 5.5%)

140.5 km: Col de Gourdon (6.3 km at 4.3%)

169.8 km: Cote de la Colle-sur-Loup (1.8 km at 10%)

177.2 km: Col des Leques (6.6 km at 5%)

Favorites Oier Lazkano (Movistar)

Christian Scaroni (Astana Qazaqstan Team)

Fred Wright (Bahrain Victorious)

Start: 11:50 AM

Finish 4:33 PM

Stage 7, Saturday, March 9: Nice - Auron (173.0 km)

The penultimate stage of Paris-Nice heads to the summit of Auron and can be considered a serious mountain stage after the two previous climbs. The better climbers in the Race to the Sun will want to put their best foot forward here.

10.1 km: Cote de Gattieres (4.5 km at 4.8%)

120.2 km: La Colmiane (7.5 km at 7.1%)

173.0 km: Auron (7.3 km at 7.1%)

Primoz Roglic (BORA-hansgrohe)

Santiago Buitrago (Bahrain Victorious)

Start: 10:35 AM

Finish 3:08 PM

Stage 8, Sunday, March 10: Nice - Nice (109.5 km)

Paris-Nice traditionally concludes with a tricky stage in and around Nice, and 2024 is no different. Again, the race will cover just over a hundred kilometers, but typically, a lot happens within that distance!

21.0 km: Cote des Levens (6.2 km at 4.9%)

36.9 km: Cote de Chateauneuf (5.4 km at 4.6%)

50.9 km: Cote de Berre-les-Alpes (6.3 km at 6.0%)

68.6 km: Cote de Peille (6.6 km at 6.9%)

100.3 km: Col des Quatre-Chemins (3.6 km at 8.8%)

Pello Bilbao (Bahrain Victorious)

Brandon McNulty (UAE-Team Emirates)

Matteo Jorgenson (Visma | Lease a Bike)

Start: 12:05 PM

Finish 2:49 PM

Favorites general classification Paris-Nice 2024

As always, Paris-Nice boasts a strong field of participants. Last year, Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard stood out, but this year the spotlight is on another illustrious pair: Remco Evenepoel of Soudal Quick-Step on one side and Primoz Roglic of BORA-hansgrohe on the other. Evenepoel is truly starting his Tour de France project here, while Roglic will be competing in his first race for BORA-hansgrohe.

Both men are supported by their respective lieutenant riders, Ilan Van Wilder and Aleksandr Vlasov , yet there is still plenty of competition. For instance, Mattias Skjelmose of Lidl-Trek, who has also targeted this race. The Dane is a strong climber, has a powerful team and possesses a fast sprint.

Visma | Lease a Bike is counting on Matteo Jorgenson , one of the men from the Opening Weekend, and Wilco Kelderman. They might not be the top stage race riders, but Nice-resident Jorgenson could surprise. Felix Gall is the main man for the in-form Decathlon AG2R team, and the robust Austrian should also be considered capable of showing his best on the climbs.

Then there are the teams from the Middle East, with Bahrain Victorious and UAE-Team Emirates leading the way. The Bahraini team is fielding Santiago Buitrago , Jack Haig and Pello Bilbao , while UAE-Team Emirates, with former winner Marc Soler, Brandon McNulty, Finn Fisher-Black, Felix Grosschartner, Jay Vine and Joao Almeida , opens up a strong roster.

INEOS Grenadiers is banking on Carlos Rodríguez , while Jayco AlUla is playing the Luke Plapp card. Groupama-FDJ, meanwhile, is pinning its hopes on French contender David Gaudu . Other distant contenders include Alexey Lutsenko (Astana Qazaqstan Team), Rigoberto Urán (EF Education-EasyPost), Ion Izagirre (Cofidis) and Ruben Guerreiro (Movistar).

Who are the favorites for the general classification of Paris-Nice 2024, according to IDLProCycling.com ?

Top favorites: Remco Evenepoel (Soudal Quick-Step) and Primoz Roglic (BORA-hansgrohe)

Outsiders: Mattias Skjelmose (Lidl-Trek), Santiago Buitrago (Bahrian Victorious), Matteo Jorgenson (Visma | Lease a Bike) and Felix Gall (Decathlon AG2R)

Long shots: David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ), Carlos Rodríguez (INEOS Grenadiers), Joao Almeida, Jay Vine (UAE-Team Emirates), Luke Plapp (Jayco AlUla), Santiago Buitrago (Bahrain Victorious), Aleksandr Vlasov (BORA-hansgrohe) and Ilan Van Wilder (Soudal Quick-Step)

Paris-Nice 2024 live streams: How to watch the eight day 'Race to the Sun'

Evenepoel and Roglič go head-to-head

Primoz Roglic (L) leading the Paris-Nice race

  • FREE live streams
  • Watch from anywhere

Bridging the gap between the early season races and the big spring classics, Paris-Nice is a form builder for some but a major season objective for others. Heading due south for eight days from the outskirts of the capital to the azure waters of the Mediterranean via the lower slopes of the Alps the race is the first classic stage race on the 2024 calendar.

Read on and we'll show you how to watch Paris Nice 2024 live streams from anywhere with a VPN , and potentially for FREE .

The Paris-Nice 2024 live streams take place between Sunday March 3rd and Sunday March 10th. ►  Start time: Start times vary each day • FREE STREAMS — RTBF (Belgium) / Rai (Italy) / Australia — SBS •   U.S. — FloBikes •   U.K. — Discovery+ • Watch anywhere — Try ExpressVPN 100% risk free

Paris-Nice, the race to the Sun, the first big test of form in the long run up to the Tour de France in July will see a strong field of riders tackle the eight stages from Paris to the warm waters of the Mediterranean.

Covering a total of 1,221km, the race kicks off with a couple of lumpy stages close to the capital, which should go the way of the sprinters, but then the GC battle starts on Stage three. Set in the town of Auxerre the 26.5km team time trial will likely set the tone for the rest of the race and will see the teams of the two red hot favourites Remco Evenepoel (Soudal - Quick Step) and Primož Roglič (BORA - hansgrohe) try to take the leader's jersey.

Following the time trial, the race gets increasingly mountainous the further south it travels with serious elevation gained each day and a punishing summit finish on stage seven into Auron. The race may well be decided after this but there is one more stage, another extremely hilly affair which could still shake things up on the final run to the line in Nice.

Set to challenge the two principle protagonists of Evenepoel and Roglič are João Almeida and Brandon McNulty (UAE Team Emirates), Pello Bilbao (Bahrain - Victorious), Carlos Rodríguez (INEOS Grenadiers) and David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ).

Stage four was set on a cold damp day in central France and the race let a small group ride clear but with three significant climbs at the end of the day they were reeled back in just after the first ascent of the tough Mont Brouilly. From here on it was full gas for the teams of the GC riders, keeping their riders at the front ready for the second ascent.

Taking it to the favourites was Luke Plapp (Team Jayco AlUla) who attacked on the penultimate climb and then hit the second ascent of Mont Brouilly with a huge 40 second advantage together with Santiago Buitrago (Bahrain - Victorious). It was Buitrago who launched for victory and took the stage whilst behind there was no real reaction from the likes of Evenepoel and Roglic.

Luke Plapp is the new race leader and he will take the jersey into stage five and the 193.5km from Saint-Sauveur-de-Montagut to Sisteron. With coverage starting at 12.05 p.m (GMT). Read on to learn how you can catch the action wherever you live.

PARIS (AP) — The final stage of next year’s Tour de France will be held outside Paris for the first time since 1905 because of a clash with the Olympics, moving instead to the French Riviera.

Because of security and logistical reasons, the French capital won’t have its traditional Tour finish on the Champs-Elysees. The race will instead conclude in Nice on July 21. Just five days later, Paris will open the Olympics.

The race will start in Italy for the first time with a stage that includes more than 3,600 meters of climbing. High mountains will be on the 2024 schedule as soon as the fourth day in a race that features two individual time trials and four summit finishes.

There are a total of seven mountain stages on the program, across four mountain ranges, according to the route released Wednesday.

The race will kick off in the Italian city of Florence on June 29 and will take riders to Rimini through a series of hills and climbs in the regions of Tuscany and Emilia-Romagna. That tricky start could set the scene for the first skirmishes between the main contenders.

Riders will first cross the Alps during Stage 4, when they will tackle the 2,642-meter Col du Galibier.

Tadej Pogacar of the UAE Team Emirates celebrates winning the men's 'Strade Bianche' (White Roads) one day cycling race to and from Siena - Tuscany, Italy, Saturday, March 2, 2024. (Gian Mattia D'Alberto/LaPresse via AP)

“The Tour peloton has never climbed so high, so early,” Tour de France director Christian Prudhomme said.

And it will just be just a taste of what’s to come since the total vertical gain of the 111th edition of the Tour reaches 52,230 meters.

The next big moment for two-time defending champion Jonas Vingegaard and his rivals will be Stage 7 for the first time trial in the Bourgogne vineyards. The first rest day will then come after a stage in Champagne presenting several sectors on white gravel roads for a total of 32 kilometers that usually provide for spectacular racing in the dust.

Tour riders will then head south to the Massif Central and the Pyrenees, then return to the Alps for a pair of massive stages with hilltop finishes, at the Isola 2000 ski resort then the Col de la Couillole, a 15.7-kilometer (9.7-mile) ascent at an average gradient of 7.1%.

There should be suspense right until the very end because the last stage, traditionally a victory parade in Paris for the race leader until the final sprint takes shape, will be a 34-kilometer (21.1-mile) time trial between Monaco and Nice.

“Everyone remembers the last occasion the Tour finished with a time trial, when Greg LeMond stripped the yellow jersey from the shoulders of Laurent Fignon on the Champs-Elysees in 1989, by just eight seconds,” Prudhommne said. “Thirty-five years later, we can but dream of a similar duel.”

There are eight flat stages for the sprinters, leaving plenty of opportunities for Mark Cavendish to try to become the outright record-holder for most career stage wins at the sport’s biggest race.

The route for the third edition of the women’s Tour will take the peloton from the Dutch city of Rotterdam, starting Aug. 12, to the Alpe d’Huez resort. The race will feature eight stages and a total of 946 kilometers.

What to expect at Paris-Nice

European WorldTour stage racing kicks off on Sunday March 5 with the start of  Paris-Nice , the prestigious eight-day stage race in France that will see Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) and Jonas Vingegaard (Jumbo-Visma) battle it out, among a star-studded start list.

The race, now in its 81st year, runs from March 5 to March 12 and features three key stages for the general classification – a team time trial on stage three of 32.2km, and summit finishes on stage four and seven, before the final day loop around Nice.

The race opens in the northern Yvelines department in France and finishes in the city on the Cote d'Azur a week later.

It will be an insight into the early season form of both Pogačar and Vingegaard, the two riders who are expected to challenge at the Tour de France this July, and also give opportunities for many other GC riders in the peloton.

There are also flatter stages for sprinters and puncheurs, and the constant threat of crosswinds as is natural at the race down the length of France.

Sean Kelly holds the record for most wins with seven, which he won in a row between 1982 and 1988, and he will likely be commentating again this year. Recent winners include Primož Roglič, Max Schachmann, and Marc Soler.

How to watch a Paris-Nice live stream from outside your country

If you’re abroad during 2023 Paris-Nice, you'll have a problem accessing your regular streaming service because of geo-blocking restrictions. Thankfully, there’s an easy solution.

Try a VPN, a piece of software which offers both online privacy and ability to change your IP address, meaning that you can access on-demand content or live TV like you would back at home while in another country. There are plenty of free VPNs but our sister site TechRadar recommends the paid ExpressVPN which it consistently rates as the best VPN provider.

Use a VPN to watch 2023 Paris-Nice from abroad:

Try ExpressVPN for 30 days

Try ExpressVPN for 30 days ExpressVPN offers online privacy and unblocks your usual streaming services from abroad. It has apps to use on phones, laptops, Amazon Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Xbox PlayStation, Android and Apple mobiles, and for more many devices.

How to watch Paris-Nice in the US

In the USA, FloBikes has the rights to Paris-Nice, streaming it across the week. The TV app is available on Roku, Fire TV, Chromecast and Apple TV, as well as on iOS and Android. Subscriptions cost $150 a year.

Watch Paris-Nice live stream on FloBikes from $30

Watch Paris-Nice live stream on FloBikes from $30 FloBikes brings live access to a healthy assortment of races over the season including the Tour de France, Giro, Tour de Suisse, LBL and plenty more including the Paris-Nice. A monthly subscription will cost you $30 while a yearly account will set you back $150 ($12.50 per month).

How to watch Paris-Nice in the UK

In the UK you can buy a month-long pass to get access to the live streams available via the Eurosport player or Discovery+ website.  Buying a pass costs just £6.99, although do remember that it will then auto renew at the same price each month unless you cancel.

However, you can also get a year-long pass for £59.99, which means a saving of £23.89.

If you’re based in the UK, you will be able to watch all of the live coverage from regular cycling broadcasters GCN+ and Discovery+ / Eurosport.

If you only want the cycling, and not the other things that Eurosport offers, you can get a GCN+ subscription at a cost of £39.99 for the year, or you can buy a race pass for £6.99 per month. A GCN+ account also means you'll then have access to both live and on demand race footage as well as long or short highlight streams and in-depth analysis. There is also a library full of documentaries on the sport for you to check out.

If you don't fancy a subscription service, there will also be highlights available on ITV4 nightly , which air at 7pm, apart from after Sunday's stage one, when they are at 6pm. These hour-long shows will then be available to watch later on ITVX.

If you happen to be out of the country when the race is on then you can just download a VPN and choose your location to watch live as if you are back at home. Setting up a VPN is simple – just download, install, open the app and select your location.

There are several VPN options out there, but we think going with Express VPN is the best.

ExpressVPN will also give you a 30-day money-back guarantee .

UK coverage of the race will begin on GCN+ and Eurosport at about 14:00 GMT every day, apart from stage eight, which begins at 12:00. Highlights will be available later in the day.

ITV4 also has highlights nightly at 19:00 GMT , except on Sundays when they're at 18:00 .

In the US coverage begins at about 9:00 ET every day, apart from stages seven and eight, which begin at 7:00 and 8:00 , respectively. Replays are also available after the event.

Sadly, if you're a US GCN+ subscriber, you don't get the Race to the Sun included in your package. You can find the full list of races that GCN will be broadcasting in the USA over on their helpful racing schedule .

2024 Tour de France will conclude with Nice time trial

Race to finish outside Paris area for first time in history

Greg Lemond

The 2024 Tour de France will finish with a time trial in Nice, marking the first time in history that the race will end outside of the Paris area. The change of venue for the grand finale of the Tour has been forced by Paris' hosting of the 2024 Olympics, which get underway in the city on July 26.

It will also be the first time that the Tour concludes with a time trial since Greg LeMond dramatically pipped Laurent Fignon on the Champs-Elysées in 1989.

The length and precise nature of the time trial have yet to be revealed, but Tour organiser ASO has confirmed that the 2024 Tour will finish on Sunday, July 21, just five days before the opening ceremony of the Olympics.

ASO has yet to confirm when the 2024 Tour de France Femmes will take place, but a change of date may be necessary to avoid a clash with the Olympics.

Italian Grand Départ all but confirmed for 2024 Tour de France Prudhomme visits Bologna to discuss Italian Tour de France Grand Départ 2024 Tour de France expected to start in Tuscany and finish in Nice

"This new finish, conditioned by the logistical imperatives that will already block the Champs-Elysées just a few days before the start of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, is accompanied by a significant sporting challenge as the last stage will be an individual time trial," Tour organiser ASO said in a statement on Thursday.

"The sporting qualities of the riders likely to win mean that the Tour could remain undecided until the last few kilometres, as was the case in 1989, the last time the event offered a time trial to close the proceedings."

The penultimate stage of the 2024 men's Tour, meanwhile, is set to take in the rugged terrain in the hinterland of Nice, which has provided so many breathless finales to Paris-Nice over the years.

"The riders will be on the region's roads on Saturday, 20 July," ASO said. "They are all aware that the Nice backcountry lends itself to unbridled, high-intensity rides, almost systematically on the final stage of Paris-Nice. So, there could be opportunities just until the very end to rattle the yellow jersey."

The location of the Grand Départ of the 2024 Tour is due to be announced early in the New Year, with Florence expected to be the site of the race's first-ever Italian start . It would be the Tour's third foreign Grand Départ in succession after Copenhagen in 2022 and Bilbao in 2023.

, a résumé Gouvenou.
