The trailer for The Tourist season 2 continues the Jamie Dornan-led tense mystery, which has been endorsed by legendary writer Stephen King. The influential horror novelist recently shared his views of The Tourist on social media, calling the Netflix series “ flat-out terrific .” The story follows Dornan's character, known only as The Man, who wakes up in an Australian hospital after a horrific accident with no memory of who he is or his past.
Now, Netflix has unveiled the trailer for The Tourist season 2, which premieres on February 29 and consists of six episodes .
The trailer picks up The Man's story, following the ending of The Tourist season 1 . The mystery drama was originally a BBC One show, which was licensed to Max in 2022. Netflix picked up the series once Max declined to stream the already-completed season 2.
What To Know About The Tourist Season 2
By the finale of the mystery dramedy, it turns out that The Man is a drug smuggler named Elliot. Confronted by Lena Pascal (Victoria Haralabidou), a woman Elliot consistently has visions of, it's revealed that Elliot’s actions smuggling heroin inside people’s bodies led to the painful deaths of two women. It also led to Lena’s disfigurement, all of which she details in a searing monologue that makes plain how awful Elliot was before the accident and why someone would want him dead. This also leads Elliot to the same conclusion, as he attempts to take his own life.
Elliot is saved by Helen Chambers (Danielle Macdonald), and the two begin a romantic relationship. In the upcoming episodes of The Tourist , Elliot and Helen take a trip to Ireland to find out more about Elliot's past. But not too long after their journey begins, The Tourist character is abducted. This proves to be a game-changer in a long-standing family feud that is ready to boil over.

Written by Harry and Jack Williams, the mystery drama's first installment already has the distinction of being the most-watched drama of the year in the UK. Considering Stephen King's positive The Tourist review, the series is poised to continue performing well on Netflix's charts.

The Visit (Trailer 2)
Daniel Berger was sidelined 19 months with back woes: 'My everyday life sucked' | D'Angelo
PALM BEACH GARDENS — For Daniel Berger, the worst part was the sitting around. Not able to do the things he loves. And we're not just talking golf.
Beach volleyball. Tennis. Pickleball. Running. Fishing.
Especially fishing.
"I could go fishing for 12 hours on the boat in five-foot seas and feel like a million bucks," the Jupiter resident said.
Instead, Berger's days were spent on an anti-gravity chair watching television, and gazing at his trophy case for inspiration.
"I'm an active person and don't like to sit around a lot," Berger said Tuesday after a practice round at PGA National in preparation for this weeks Cognizant Classic in the Palm Beaches. "That was the toughest part, sitting around and literally doing nothing for eight months before I got back to being a little bit more like myself and feeling comfortable walking."
Those trophies, for a man who has won four times on the PGA Tour and was a two-time first-team All-American at Florida State, were his incentive.
"I would sit in my office and look at them and just think back and try to visualize the moments of the shots that I hit coming down the stretch, and knowing that as far away as you feel from that, you're not as far as you think you are," he said.
Long break because of bad back
Berger, the Dwyer High School graduate, went 19 months between playing a PGA Tour event. Back issues, of which he says "it's hard to be specific because there's always different factors that can cause you pain," had him sidelined for the second half of 2022 and all of 2023.
Berger returned five weeks ago at the American Express and now is 10 rounds into his comeback as he enters the one tournament he has circled every year. He has missed it twice since first playing in 2015 because of injury.
Few look at Cognizant as a must play like Berger. While several of his peers found any and all excuses to duck the challenging Champion Course, Berger took it on full steam. The closest he's come to winning was when he lost to Padraig Harrington in 2015 in a playoff and surrendering a five-shot lead on the final day of the 2022 tournament.
Last year Berger measured progress by whether he could increase his daily golf activity from 10 swings to 12 to 15 without pain.
Berger's issues started about two years ago when he was unable to defend his title at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am, withdrawing the day before the event started because of his back. He tested the back a week later and decided to play the then Honda Classic. He thrived with a pair of 65s and a 69 before that final round 74 dropped him to fourth, three shots behind champion Sepp Straka.
Four months later, after missing the cut at the U.S. Open, Berger decided he no longer would chase "the quick fix," and went the other way. It was time to allow his body to heal, no matter how long.
"I didn't want to be one of those guys that came back too early and was hurt three months later," he said. "I wanted to feel 100 percent and be able to do everything I wanted to do, and that's where I feel now."
At his peak, Berger was among the top 15 players in the world and a member of the winning 2021 U.S. Ryder Cup team, where he and Justin Thomas went viral for shot-gunning beers on the first tee box. Two years ago, he was No. 17 in the world. He enters the Cognizant at No. 590.
Berger says he's 100 percent, but that comeback was delayed when a leisurely bike ride with his dog resulted in a torn labrum in his right shoulder. Berger had to swerve to avoid the dog and took a tumble. He had planned to play in a few events on the fall schedule.
The silver lining: Berger now could not rush his return from his back injury, even if he wanted.
The dark cloud: Another prolonged period unable to swing a club.
"I was in pain all the time and then I got to a point where I was just like, 'this is just not worth playing,'" said Berger, who turned 30 during his break. "My everyday life sucks, and I'm just struggling to play a golf tournament.
"You can't win a golf tournament when you can only do 25 percent of what you're used to doing. That's where I really made the decision to step back."
Berger said he was not 100 percent at the American Express last month, where he shot four sub-70 rounds and tied for 39th with a 17-under 271. He missed the cut at the Farmers before playing in a Phoenix Open marred by rain and unruly crowds.
More: Everything you need to know about the PGA Tour's Cognizant (Honda) Classic 2024
At one time, Berger believed Cognizant would mark his return from the long layoff. But with a healthy back (and shoulder) he made the decision to get in a few starts instead of starting his season with a home game.
Berger's pre-golf routine looks a lot different now
Berger's routine has changed. Instead of rolling out of bed and heading straight to the range, it's now about maintenance and the process.
Berger, who tees off at 12:29 p.m. Thursday in a group that includes Russell Henley and Tequesta's Eric Cole, now is more measured in that process.
"There's a lot more work that goes into it," he said, calling it a different level of "professionalism."
"I think you see the guys that have been out here for a long time, those are the guys that are doing those things … guys putting in the work so they can feel good and be ready to go. And I feel like that's part of it for me, and it wasn't so years ago."

The Visit Trailer (2015)
Trailer for The Visit .
Writer/director/producer M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, Signs, Unbreakable) and producer Jason Blum (Paranormal Activity, The Purge and Insidious series) welcome you to Universal Pictures’ The Visit. Shyamalan returns to his roots with the terrifying story of a brother and sister who are sent to their grandparents’ remote Pennsylvania farm for a weeklong trip. Once the children discover that the elderly couple is involved in something deeply disturbing, they see their chances of getting back home are growing smaller every day.
Shyamalan produces The Visit through his Blinding Edge Pictures, while Blum produces through his Blumhouse Productions alongside Mark Bienstock (Quarantine 2: Terminal). Steven Schneider (Insidious) and Ashwin Rajan (Devil) executive produce the thriller.
The Visit is a film with a bit of humor and horror . Writer/Director M. Night Shyamalan actually cut the film three different ways. He edited the film to be a pure comedy, then pure horror, and then one that fell somewhere in-between which is what can be seen in the final cut.
Although The Blair Witch Project made the found footage style of horror popular back in 1999, there has been a resurgence in popularity in the last few years. This is Shyamalan's first found-footage film. Shyamalan usually makes a cameo in his films i.e. The Sixth Sense , Unbreakable , The Village , but did not make a cameo for this particular film. The Visit is Shyamalan’s lowest budget studio film with a budget of $5 million. The film did very well and earned over $65 million at the box office. His previous film, the Will Smith starrer After Earth cost $120 million to make (and did terrible).
There is a moment in the trailer for The Visit in which two children tell their mother that there is something wrong with their grandparents to which their mother tells them that they are just old. That moment made me chuckle because that is the general consensus about the elderly from the perspective of their family which makes the premise of The Visit all the more terrifying.
The two kids want to visit their grandparents because apparently they never had in the past, and since they are their family it is reasonable to assume that they would be safe during their extended stay. The grandparents set a reasonable bedtime because they are older and believe kids should get their rest. Everything is normal until suddenly it’s not and the grandparents are out of their minds. Grandma is trying to get her granddaughter in the oven like she’s Gretel or something, and the Grandpa is staring down the barrel of a gun like it is normal.
The Visit is bizarre and the trailer is filled with plenty of frightening moments making it a must-see for fans of the genre. The fact that the film is from M. Night Shyamalan almost guarantees there will be a twist in the end , whether that will be like The Sixth Sense twist or more like The Village twist is where the quality of The Visit rests. Either way, The Visit looks like a good scare fest with an amusing and frightening premise.

The Ending Of The Visit Explained
Contains spoilers for The Visit
M. Night Shyamalan is notorious for using dramatic twists towards the endings of his films, some of which are pulled off perfectly and add an extra layer of depth to a sprawling story (hello, Split ). Some of the director's other offerings simply keep the audience on their toes rather than having any extra subtext or hidden meaning. Shyamalan's 2015 found-footage horror-comedy The Visit , which he wrote and directed, definitely fits in the latter category, aiming for style over substance.
The Visit follows 15-year-old Becca Jamison (Olivia DeJonge) and her 13-year-old brother Tyler (Ed Oxenbould) when they spend the week with their mother's estranged parents, who live in another town. Loretta (played by WandaVision 's Kathryn Hahn ) never explained to her children why she separated herself away from her parents, but clearly hopes the weekend could help bring the family back together.
Although The Visit occasionally toys with themes of abandonment and fear of the unknown, it wasn't particularly well-received by critics on its initial release, as many struggled with its bizarre comedic tone in the found-footage style. So, after Tyler and his camera record a number of disturbing occurrences like Nana (Deanna Dunagan) projectile-vomiting in the middle of the night and discovering "Pop Pop"'s (Peter McRobbie) mountain of used diapers, it soon becomes clear that something isn't right with the grandparents.
Here's the ending of The Visit explained.
The Visit's twist plays on expectations
Because Shyamalan sets up the idea of the separation between Loretta and her parents very early on — and doesn't show their faces before Becca and Tyler meet them — the film automatically creates a false sense of security. Even more so since the found-footage style restricts the use of typical exposition methods like flashbacks or other scenes which would indicate that Nana and Pop Pop aren't who they say they are. Audiences have no reason to expect that they're actually two escapees from a local psychiatric facility.
The pieces all come together once Becca discovers her real grandparents' corpses in the basement, along with some uniforms from the psychiatric hospital. It confirms "Nana" and "Pop-Pop" escaped from the institution and murdered the Jamisons because they were a similar age, making it easy to hide their whereabouts from the authorities. And they would've gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those meddling kids.)
However, after a video call from Loretta reveals that the pair aren't her parents, the children are forced to keep up appearances — but the unhinged duo start to taunt the siblings. Tyler in particular is forced to face his fear of germs as "Pop Pop" wipes dirty diapers in his face. The germophobia is something Shyamalan threads through Tyler's character throughout The Visit, and the encounter with "Pop Pop" is a basic attempt of showing he's gone through some kind of trial-by-fire to get over his fears.
But the Jamison kids don't take things lying down: They fight back in vicious fashion — a subversion of yet another expectation that young teens might would wait for adults or law enforcement officers to arrive before doing away with their tormentors.
Its real message is about reconciliation
By the time Becca stabs "Nana" to death and Tyler has repeatedly slammed "Pop-Pop"'s head with the refrigerator door, their mother and the police do arrive to pick up the pieces. In a last-ditch attempt at adding an emotional undertone, Shyamalan reveals Loretta left home after a huge argument with her parents. She hit her mother, and her father hit her in return. But Loretta explains that reconciliation was always on the table if she had stopped being so stubborn and just reached out. One could take a domino-effect perspective and even say that Loretta's stubbornness about not reconnecting and her sustained distance from her parents put them in exactly the vulnerable position they needed to be for "Nana" and "Pop-Pop" to murder them.
Loretta's confession actually mirrors something "Pop-Pop" told Tyler (before his run-in with the refrigerator door): that he and "Nana" wanted to spend one week as a normal family before dying. They should've thought about that before murdering a pair of innocent grandparents, but here we are.
So, is The Visit trying to say that if we don't keep our families together, they'll be replaced by imposters and terrify our children? Well, probably not. The Visit tries to deliver a message about breaking away from old habits, working through your fears, and stop being so stubborn over arguments that don't have any consequences in the long-run. Whether it actually sticks the landing on all of those points is still up for debate.
