4 days in buenos aires, argentina: itinerary & best things to do.

I’ll level with you; four days in Buenos Aires are not enough. To do this sprawling city justice, you would need to spend at least five to seven days there.

That said, armed with a plan you can cover the highlights of “The Paris of South America” in four days and this is where my first-hand knowledge can help you.

Make the most of your time there with my 4-day Buenos Aires itinerary, which formed part of a  two-week visit to Argentina . This includes tips on how to get from the airport, where to stay and how to get around this enormous city.

It will be a busy visit, but this itinerary will allow you to experience the history, culture and diversity of this vibrant city.

My 4-Day Buenos Aires Itinerary

My tried and tested itinerary will allow you to discover the best things to do in Buenos Aires in four days.

• DAY 1 : PLAZA DE MAYO & DOWNTOWN
• DAY 2: LA BOCA WALKING TOUR & PUERTO MADERO
• DAY 3: SAN TELMO & EL ZANJON
• DAY 4: LA RECOLETA CEMETERY & PALERMO STREET ART

If you have just 3 days in Buenos Aires , you should still be able to cover these sights, compressing this 4-day itinerary into busier days. Conversely, if you spend longer in the city, you can take a more leisurely approach and perhaps build in a day trip to Uruguay

Day 1: Plaza de Mayo and Downtown

Plaza de mayo.

Begin your day in Plaza de Mayo, the beating heart of Buenos Aires. Surrounded on three sides by iconic buildings – the Catedral Metropolitana, the Cabildo and the Casa Rosada – this is a great place to start getting to know the city and its history.

Finished in 1827, the solid  Catedral Metropolitana  is Buenos Aires’ main Catholic church. It is home to the mausoleum of General José de San Martín, a revered Argentinian hero, who led the country to independence in 1816.

Don’t be deceived by the cathedral’s sombre Neo-Classical exterior. Inside, it is a wonder of soaring ceilings, exquisite stained glass, marble columns and detailed frescoes.

The 18 th  Century  Cabildo , or town hall, sits at the southern end of the Plaza de Mayo. Once the seat of Spanish colonial rule, it also served as an important administrative building during the early years of Argentine independence. It is now home to the National Museum of the Cabildo and the May Revolution.

However, Casa Rosada  is the star of the show. It was from the balcony of this pink government house building in 1951 that Eva Perón (aka Evita) gave her final speech.

DOWNTOWN BUENOS AIRES

Av. 9 de Julio  is the widest avenue in the world (although Brazil contends that the record belongs to the Eixo Monumental in Brasilia). Wider than a city block at 120 meters, it carries up to 16 lanes of traffic.

Jutting over the oval Plaza de la República like an exclamation mark is the  Obelisk . Erected in 1936 to commemorate the fourth centenary of the first foundation of Buenos Aires, it has become a Buenos Aires icon.

If you have enough time, why not take a 50-minute tour of the Teatro Colon Opera House ? Daily English tours depart 3 -5 times a day.

Day 2: La Boca Walking Tour and Puerto Madero

Morning: a walking tour of la boca.

The historic barrio of La Boca is a must-see in Buenos Aires. El Caminito with its brightly coloured buildings, live tango and flashy art galleries is its beating heart.

La Boca is a strange beast. For one or two blocks, it is  super -touristy.  However, stray off the well-trodden tourist path, and you hit the start of the slums.

As I found out on a  walking tour of La Boca , there is more to this historic Buenos Aires barrio than its Instagrammable streets filled with a vibrant patchwork of buildings.

This barrio’s street art reflects its radical politics. This is demonstrated eloquently in the large mural paying tribute to Mothers of the Plaza de Mayo, the mothers of the ‘disappeared.’

Around 30,000 ‘leftist’ sons and daughters disappeared during the 1976-1983 ‘Dirty War’. These mothers conduct a peaceful protest in front of the Casa Rosado every Thursday, during which they wrap diapers around their heads as makeshift scarves.

Whilst the buildings were extremely photogenic and the history fascinating, perhaps my favourite sight of the morning was the dogs dressed in football kits to raise money for dogs’ refuge.

• As it is easy to veer off the tourist track I recommend exploring La Boca on a guided tour , which is excellent and inexpensive.
• Getting to La Boca  – There is not a Subte (subway) station close to La Boca. Therefore, if transport is not included as part of your walking tour, you will need to catch a taxi or take a bus.
• I caught the 152 bus from Palermo. It was very straightforward; the stop nearest La Caminito is where the bus terminates and it is a short, safe walk along the river from there. Be warned though; in heavy traffic, this journey took around 90 minutes.

AFTERNOON: VISIT Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve

Located in Puerto Madero, Buenos Aires’s newest neighbourhood, the Ecological Reserve  is a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Walk or cycle one of its trails leading to the waterfront promenade with its views over the Rio de la Plata. For the twitchers amongst you, there are reportedly more than 300 bird species that are fellow visitors. And if you’re lucky, you might also spot a river turtle or iguana.

Opening hours : Tuesday – Sunday; 8 am – 6 pm

Getting there: The nearest subway stations are Independencia, San Juan, Plaza de Mayo and Catalinas

Entrance fee: Free

Day 3: San Telmo and El Zanjon

San Telmo is what most people visualise when you mention Buenos Aires: the cobbled streets, the markets, the tango dancers in its main square. But don’t miss the opportunity to visit El Zanjón , a 19th-century mansion, which is a time machine into San Telmo’s past.

The faded grandeur of San Telmo’s buildings bears witness to it once being the richest neighbourhood in Buenos Aires.

In 1985, Jorge Eckstein, a long-time resident of San Telmo, bought an abandoned tenement ( conventillo ) near his home intending to turn it into a restaurant. This  conventillo  was formerly El Zanjón , a mansion dating from 1830.

Early in the renovations, he stumbled upon what would become Argentina’s largest private archaeological site. In addition to pottery, cutlery, and jewellery, he discovered a network of tunnels, once used to channel water.

A superb 60-minute guided tour (in English and Spanish) transports you through this atmospheric labyrinth. San Telmo’s dining scene’s loss has been archaeology’s gain.  

No visit to San Telmo would be complete without a visit to Plaza Dorrego .

I visited midweek to find a peaceful, picturesque square filled with people enjoying an afternoon drink in the autumn sunshine. However, visit on a Sunday, and it is transformed with a craft market and tango dancers.

Arrive early to bag a prime position and sharpen those elbows!

Getting there: The easiest way to reach San Telmo is by subway. Take the Subte Line D to Station Catedral or Line A to Station Plaza de Mayo. You will come out in Plaza de Mayo. From there, just walk down Defensa.

Visiting El Zanjón : El Zanjón is at Defensa 755. A visit is only possible on a guided tour. 

In 2024, English tours take place at 12 and 4 pm with an additional tour at 2 pm at the weekend.

Day 4: La Recoleta Cemetery and Palermo Street Art

Morning: visit la recoleta cemetery.

Start your last day in Buenos Aires by paying your respects to the dead.

Although Eva Perón is La Recoleta Cemetery’s most famous resident, the list of its other occupants reads like a  Who’s Who  of Argentinian history. From presidents to poets, athletes to academics, explore its mausoleums and memorials to get a fascinating insight into the country’s past. 

Housing over 6,400 statues, sarcophagi, coffins and crypts over four city blocks, La Recoleta Cemetery is an eerily beautiful place.

With its wide alleys and shady streets, this labyrinthine city of the dead is a real mishmash of architectural styles. These include Art Deco, Art Nouveau, Baroque and Neo-gothic, adorned with angels, Madonnas, saviours, crosses and cathedral-like domes.

The cats of La Recoleta deserve a mention. Reportedly, there are around 75 of them and they are well-fed and well cared for.

Opening hours : 8 am to 6 pm daily. At the time of updating this article (August 2022), tours of the cemetery were only offered in Spanish. I recommend arriving before midday when it is cooler and quieter.

Getting there: The closest subway stations (Subte) are Las Herras, Retiro and Callao. Buses also pass near the cemetery, including no. 59 from Palermo.

AFTERNOON: PALERMO’S STREET ART

Thanks to its abundance of abandoned buildings and blank walls, creating perfect canvases, and the liberal attitude of the city’s authorities, Buenos Aires attracts local and international street artists. Although you can see street art throughout the city, for a great collection in a compact area head to Palermo Soho.

Whilst you can mooch around by yourself, to make the most of this experience join a street art guided walking tour . And don’t forget to check out the neighbourhood’s many bars and restaurants whilst you are there.

If You Have More Than 4 Days in Buenos Aires

If you are lucky to have more than 4 days in Buenos Aires, consider taking a day trip to Colonia, Uruguay .

Colonia del Sacramento (to give it its full name) is just a short hop across the Rio de la Plata. With its cobbled streets, colonial buildings and a sprinkling of vintage cars it is a perfect day trip from Buenos Aires.

Where to Stay in Buenos Aires

As each of the city’s many barrios has its pros and cons, and its distinct identity, choosing where to stay can feel like a Herculean task. I recommend staying in the trendy barrio of  Palermo.

Within Palermo, you have a choice of  Palermo Soho  or  Palermo Hollywood.

Both of these sub-barrios have more than enough bars and restaurants to satisfy your culinary and drinking needs. However, Palermo Soho has more of a focus on shopping; Palermo Hollywood is livelier, with a greater concentration of bars and restaurants.

As a  solo traveller, safety  is important to me and walking around Palermo at night always felt safe.

• Mid-range: Duque Boutique Hotel  

I stayed at this charming boutique hotel   in Palermo Soho.

It has a tiny spa, a delightful small garden and terrace and exceptionally friendly staff. There are many great bars and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.

• Budget: Hotel Chemin  

This boutique hotel in downtown Buenos Aires has garnered great reviews. Single rooms are available for solo travellers and breakfast is included in the room rate.

• Splurge: The Glu Boutique Hotel  

This is where I would have stayed if my budget had stretched a little further.

Discerning friends stayed here and highly rated this all-suite Palermo Soho hotel located three blocks from Plaza Serrano. All suites have either a private balcony or a terrace.

Getting from the Airport to Downtown Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires has two airports:  Ezeiza (EZE) , handling mostly international flights, and  Aeroparque (AEP) , which is the domestic hub in addition to handling some flights to other South American countries. As public or shared transport options from both airports are few to non-existent, your best bet is a taxi.  

Getting from Ezeiza (Ministro Pistarini International Airport)

Ezeiza Airport is 33km southwest of Buenos Aires city. In order of descending cost, your options for getting to the downtown area of the city are a taxi, shared shuttle service or public bus.  

The key to flashpacking like a ninja is knowing when to splash the cash and, in my view, a taxi is a worthwhile expense.

Taking a taxi from Ezeiza (EZE) Airport

I arranged a taxi through my hotel in Palermo Soho. The journey took around 45 minutes in good traffic.

I don’t know about you, but when I step off a 13-hour flight, a little disoriented, it is good to know that I will be whisked off to my hotel by someone holding up my name on a board.

Alternatively, there is a taxi booth in the arrivals hall, providing a transfer for a cost similar to that of a pre-booked taxi. US dollars are widely accepted.

Hailing a taxi at the airport is not recommended.

Using a shared shuttle service from Ezeiza (EZE) Airport

There is also a shared shuttle service from EZE to Puerto Madero, operated by  TiendaLeón . You can book online or they have a counter just after you exit Customs.

Although this is a cheaper option, this isn’t a door-to-door service. The journey time is approximately 50 minutes.

Alternatively, Minibus Ezezia operates a service between the airport and San Telmo every 30 minutes from 8 am to 6 pm.

Catching a public bus from Ezeiza (EZE) Airport

There is a bus (number 8) which is very cheap and operates every 30 minutes.

However, the trip takes about two hours and the bus makes multiple stops en route. Also, you will need a pre-loaded SUBE card to pay the fare, which you are unlikely to have unless you are a return visitor to Argentina  

As most international flights arrive in Buenos Aires before lunchtime, you have an opportunity to explore a little of the city on Day 0. This also allows you to get your bearings.

Getting from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP) Airport

In terms of location, AEP is far more convenient for most travellers, located downtown in the Palermo neighbourhood. Choose between taking a taxi or catching a shuttle bus or bus to reach your accommodation in Buenos Aires.

I found that a metered taxi was the best option. I did this 30-minute journey a few times to my Palermo hotel and the price was consistent.

As before, TiendaLeón offers a shuttle bus service.  

Catching a public bus from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery (AEP) Airport

Buses do serve AEP but for the increased journey time and hassle, a taxi is your best bet. The lines serving Aeroparque are 33, 37, 45 and 160.

How to Get Around Buenos Aires

Getting around Buenos Aires is relatively easy thanks to its extensive public transport system, comprising buses and the Subte (subway) network.

To use this system you need to get your hands on a prepaid magnetic card, similar to the Oyster card used in London. This is your golden ticket!

This SUBE card is available at all subway stations. Charge the card at Subte stations, national lottery stores and  kioscos .

Considering the congestion on the streets, the subway is the fastest way to get around in Buenos Aires.

There are  five Subte lines  crisscrossing the city and interchanges are clearly signposted. Although it may not be the most modern subway system, trains are frequent. However, carriages can be rammed at peak times (7 – 10 am and 6 – 8 pm).

Travelling by bus in Buenos Aires

It took me slightly longer to get to grips with travelling by bus. They are big, comfortable and frequent, though often crowded.

You have to identify the correct stop to board the bus and where to get off, which can be challenging if you are not familiar with the city. If you’re not sure where to get off, ask the driver or a local for help. In my experience, both were very helpful.

Once you have identified your bus stop, wait for the bus under the sign. Like the British, Argentinians love an orderly queue and at bus stops, they will queue to the right. No milling around and swarming the bus when it arrives!

When you board the bus, tell the driver where you are going – writing this on a piece of paper helped me – so that he will charge you the correct fare. Then lay your card on the SUBE reader where you will see the price of the ride displayed.

All that remains is to sit back and enjoy your ride!  

I downloaded the Como LLego app, which is your best weapon for getting around Buenos Aires. It is not only a sophisticated journey planner, but it also provides real-time information on departures.

Getting around Buenos Aires by taxi

Compared with some other cities I have visited, getting around Buenos Aires by taxi was a breeze. They were plentiful, relatively cheap and safe.

Not once did a driver take a scenic route around the city or need to be encouraged to switch the meter on. Or perhaps I was just lucky!

Taxi drivers do not expect a tip but rounding up to the nearest convenient denomination is common and appreciated.  

Exploring Buenos Aires on an Organised Tour

Is Buenos Aires Safe for Female Solo Travellers?

For the most part, Buenos Aires is a safe city to explore, especially in relation to its South American neighbours. During my 4 days in Buenos Aires, on no occasion did I feel unsafe as a solo traveller. That said, it is sensible to recognise potential threats and mitigate any risks. Be street smart. Like many big cities, petty theft is a problem, particularly in areas that are popular with tourists, such as La Boca and San Telmo. Walk confidently and with purpose, be careful with your belongings, especially smartphones and laptops, and leave your diamond necklace at home.

If possible, book  taxis  in advance. If you need to hail a taxi in the street, only use a ‘radio taxi’. These have a visible company logo on the rear passenger doors.

Although uncommon,  kidnappings  and so-called ‘express kidnappings’ occur in Argentina. Victims are held and forced to empty their bank accounts in different ATMs after which they are normally quickly released. 

Political demonstrations  and picketing have become increasingly common in Argentina. Some demonstrations attract large numbers of people and there have been cases of violence. Exercise normal caution at any large gathering, and be aware of your surroundings.

Su trazado urbano es compacto y sencillo de recorrer. Sus veredas son amplias y están llenas de árboles. A ello se suma un buen número de plazas que embellecen la ciudad y el famoso Parque San Martín, el atractivo por excelencia de Mendoza.

A sus alrededores encontramos la Reserva Villavicencio, el Dique Potrerillos, las Termas de Cacheuta, el Valle de Uco, el Parque Aconcagua y el bellísimo Puente del Inca, solo por mencionar algunos puntos. Y ni hablar de sus bodegas, que son muchísimas. Hay tanto que ver en Mendoza que los días se te pasarán volando.

Día 1: Ciudad de Mendoza

¡Mendoza es un destino vibrante que siempre tiene algo para sorprender! Pasear por sus calles es un verdadero placer. A pesar de ser la cuarta ciudad más poblada de Argentina, se distingue por su limpieza, orden y por tener plazas cada 4 o 5 cuadras (esto no es azar, sino para que los habitantes puedan refugiarse allí en caso de un terremoto). Todas sus calles se encuentran adornadas con acequias y árboles, lo cual le da un aire más natural del que ya tiene.

Si quieres sacarle el máximo provecho a tu paseo por Mendoza, entonces lo mejor será que comiences temprano. De todos modos, la mayor parte del día lo pasarás en el Parque San Martín, puesto que es muy grande y tiene muchos atractivos en su interior.

Parque San Martín: un imperdible que ver en Mendoza en 4 días

El Parque General San Martín enamora desde su entrada, marcada por imponentes portones de estilo inglés, hasta los espacios verdes, esculturas, fuentes de agua, su lago artificial y gran arboleda que hay en su interior. Ya sea que lo recorras a pie o en vehículo, no puedes perderte este importante pulmón de la ciudad.

El parque nace en 1896 de la mano del arquitecto francés Carlos Thays y es el más grande de América del Sur. Su creador supo conjugar en él la tradición inglesa y francesa propias de la jardinería del siglo XIX, dando un resultado increíble. Más increíble aún si tenemos en cuenta que se levantó en el desierto. No en vano, miles de turistas y locales pueblan sus amplios espacios verdes, zonas arboladas y áreas de descanso.

Con más de 300 especies de plantas originarias de América del Norte, Europa, Asia y Australia, el Parque San Martín es todo un mundo vegetal, lleno de calles y caminos que hacen que pasear por él sea muy placentero. El parque le suma calidad de vida a la ciudad, permitiendo también la justa humidificación del ambiente. Sus 307 hectáreas cultivadas, 17 km de recorridos y 82 hectáreas de expansión lo convierten en un parque único. En otras palabras, es un imperdible de cualquier ruta por Mendoza en 4 días .

¿Qué ver dentro del Parque San Martín?

¡Mucho! Tanto si tienes un plan en mente como si no, lo mejor que puedes hacer aquí es dejarte llevar por tus sentidos. El parque mismo te irá conduciendo a sus principales sitios de interés. Respecto a cómo recorrerlo, puedes combinar un poco de coche con tramos de caminata. Si tienes un espíritu inquieto, cálzate tus zapatillas y recórrelo caminando. Como sea, la experiencia será gratificante.

Los portones

Un parque de semejante magnitud debe tener un ingreso apropiado. Así fue como en 1907 se trajeron desde Escocia estos monumentales portones que tanta elegancia le dan a la ciudad.

El lago artificial

En el corazón del parque encontramos un lago artificial construido en 1906. Además de ser una agradable área de paseo y descanso, en la que los argentinos se reúnen habitualmente a compartir un mate, es el lugar favorito de los amantes de la regata.

El lago artificial del Parque San Martín tiene más de 1.000 metros de largo y 100 de ancho, una isla, un rosedal y pérgolas que lo engalanan. El Rosedal es un paseo peatonal de estilo francés que, tal como lo indica su nombre, está repleto de rosales, esculturas y pérgolas que en primavera se llenan de flores.  Por su parte, a la pequeña isla se accede mediante un puente y regala una vista muy bonita del lago y el Club de Regatas.

Club de Regatas

Con un estilo arquitectónico inglés, este edificio creado en 1909 es la sede de múltiples actividades deportivas. Se encuentra ubicado a orillas del lago, posee embarcaderos, terrazas y un amplio restaurante de primer nivel.

El Jardín Zoológico de Mendoza es uno de los más importantes de Sudamérica. Fue fundado en 1939 en una ladera del Cerro de la Gloria, aprovechando los desniveles naturales del terreno y la flora autóctona. La idea original era que los animales estuvieran en recintos semiabiertos y que pudieran circular libremente en sus hábitats naturales. Lamentablemente, no funcionó y hoy muchas especies se encuentran en jaulas con rejas.

En las 50 hectáreas del zoológico conviven 68 especies de mamíferos y 78 de aves, con un total de más de 1.000 ejemplares. El paseo es muy agradable e interesante, especialmente para ir con niños pequeños.

El Monumento del Cerro de la Gloria, otro imperdible de Mendoza en 4 días

El Monumento del Cerro la Gloria es la estrella del parque y la postal más famosa de la ciudad de Mendoza. Esta obra escultórica del uruguayo Juan Manuel Ferrari, fue inaugurada en 1914 y rinde homenaje al Ejército de los Andes. Asimismo, es un increíble mirador de la ciudad y sus alrededores.

El impresionante monumento situado en una base de piedra traída de la cordillera, muestra la figura del héroe patrio, el General José de San Martín con un grupo de granaderos a caballo y la imagen de la Libertad. La obra está cargada de simbolismo y es realmente majestuosa. Dedícate tiempo a contemplarla, ya que allí se ven reflejadas las costumbres de la época, vestimentas, armas y otros detalles que le dan un gran realismo.

En la amplia explanada donde se ubica el monumento hay puestos de artesanías y comidas regionales. La mayoría de los viajeros suben al cerro en auto, aunque muchos también lo hacen caminando, disfrutando del aire puro cordillerano.

El Teatro Griego Frank Romero Day

El Teatro Griegp es el punto donde culmina la celebración más importante de Mendoza, la Fiesta Nacional de la Vendimia . Este recinto con capacidad para unos 20.000 espectadores es otro de los emblemas del Parque San Martín y un lugar más que ver en Mendoza en 4 días . Se trata de una obra única en Argentina, con 120 metros de boca escénica y una amplia plataforma que hace de escenario. Además, a su alrededor se alzan cerros que le dan encanto a la estampa.

El Estadio Mundialista Malvinas Argentinas

Este estadio fue construido en 1978, cuando Argentina fue sede de la copa mundial de fútbol. Se encuentra ubicado cerca del Cerro La Gloria y es otro de los espacios más destacados del parque.

Hay mucho más para ver en el Parque San Martín, como la Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, el Centro Científico Tecnológico del Conicet, la Reserva Divisadero Largo, el Museo de Ciencias Naturales y más. Como te imaginarás, podrías dedicar un día completo a recorrer el parque.

Un consejo que te damos es que busques alojamiento cerca de él. De esa manera, podrás acceder siempre que quieras o tengas un tiempo libre. Más allá de todo lo que hay para ver, es un lugar de descanso, donde simplemente puedes ir a relajarte a la sombra de un árbol o hacer un pícnic. De más está aclarar que la entrada es gratuita.

Plaza Independencia y peatonal

A la Plaza Independencia puedes acercarte luego de recorrer el parque o por la noche. Ubicada en el corazón de Mendoza, es la más importante de la ciudad y un destacado punto de encuentro de locales y turistas. De ella nace el Paseo Sarmiento , una calle peatonal llena de restaurantes, bares y tiendas de todo tipo. Por eso, es un buen lugar para cerrar tu primer día por Mendoza.

Si tienes tiempo, puedes conocer otras plazas cercanas: España , Italia y Chile , cada una con su encanto particular. También destaca la plaza San Martín , en cuya parte central hay otro monumento a este importante héroe nacional.

Calle Arístides Villanueva

Otra manera de cerrar tu primer día en Mendoza (o cualquiera de los siguientes), es en la calle con más vida nocturna de la ciudad. No olvides que estás en Argentina, un país donde se le da mucha importancia a lo social. Por eso, siempre verás grupos de amigos y familias compartiendo una cerveza y una rica comida en cualquier lugar que vayas. En este sentido, la Calle Arístides Villanueva tiene un encanto especial.

La Arístides es la más famosa de las arterias comerciales y gastronómicas de Mendoza. Frecuentada a diario por jóvenes, está llena de restaurantes, bares y pubs. Su ambiente es siempre de lo más animado, además que tiene mucho brillo y elegancia. Sea la noche que sea, salir a comer en la Arístides es una de las mejores cosas para hacer en Mendoza en 4 días .

City Tour en bus turístico

Los city tour ofrecen la ventaja de recorrer los principales atractivos de la ciudad. Como buena ciudad turística, Mendoza tiene su propio bus. El precio del recorrido para adultos argentinos es de $1400, mientras que para extranjeros  es de $2395.

Los puntos que incluye el City Tour son la Plaza Independencia (salida), el Parque Central, el Área Fundacional, el Parque Urbano, el Acuario Municipal, el Museo del Vino, la famosa calle Arístides Villanueva, la Fuente de los Continentes (dentro del Parque San Martín), el Museo de Ciencias Naturales y el Parque Deportivo de Montaña.

Los puntos de venta del bus turístico se encuentran en la Plaza Independencia, en la peatonal y la Plaza San Martín. A su vez, muchos de los hoteles y alojamientos ofrecen el paseo. También, podrás adquirir los boletos vía online en la página oficial de City Tour Mendoza.

El ticket del paseo incluye guía bilingüe a bordo del bus, entrega de material impreso con los principales atractivos de cada parada, un mapa de la Ciudad de Mendoza y el Parque San Martín y audioguía disponible en español, francés, inglés y portugués.

Si prefieres hacer este recorrido en lugar del itinerario que te planteamos, también será un excelente plan. Además, te quedará tiempo para recorrer el centro de Mendoza, que por cierto, es muy animado.

Día 2: Termas de Cacheuta, Embalse de Potrerillos y Reserva Villavicencio

Para el segundo día tenemos 3 destinos que queremos que conozcas. Lo bueno es que a todos se puede llegar siguiendo la misma ruta, aunque hay un detalle a tener en cuenta que te contaremos más adelante.

Procura comenzar el día temprano, así puedes sacarle el máximo provecho a tu día. De todos modos, si deseas pasar más tiempo en alguno de los sitios que mencionamos (por ejemplo, dedicar un día de relax en las Termas de Cacheuta, puedes dejar uno o dos de los otros lugares para otro momento). La ruta que te planteamos es posible, siempre y cuando no estés demasiado tiempo en cada lugar.

Termas de Cacheuta

Este bellísimo complejo termal se encuentra situado a poco más de 40 km de la Ciudad de Mendoza , siguiendo la RP 82, una ruta escénica muy bonita. Su ubicación privilegiada, en medio de la pre Cordillera de Los Andes y junto al Río Mendoza, la sumerge en un entorno de gran atractivo paisajístico.

Las Termas de Cacheuta ofrecen distintas prestaciones, tanto para el turista que pasa el día allí, como para el que se aloja dentro del complejo. Sus piletas de aguas termales provienen del deshielo y se calientan en la profundidad de la tierra, emergiendo en forma de manantiales que varían de los 35°C a 50°C.

Si deseas pasar el día en el complejo, puedes adquirir tu entrada y disfrutar de los diferentes servicios. El parque cuenta con piscinas para niños, piletas internas y externas, una con olas y un río lento. A su vez, hay restaurantes, tiendas, diferentes ofertas de turismo aventura y hasta una fábrica de cerveza artesanal.

Si no ingresas al parque termal, puedes recorrer sus alrededores, que están llenos de puestos de artesanías y comida local; cruzar el puente colgante y simplemente disfrutar del bonito entorno en que se encuentra inmerso el complejo. Las entradas varían de los $1000 a $1500 pesos por persona, según la época del año en que hagas la visita. También hay agencias de turismo que ofrecen paquetes con traslado y acceso a las termas a partir de los $2500.

Luego de recorrer la zona, no tienes más que continuar conduciendo por la RPP 82 y cruzar el Túnel Cacheuta-Potrerillos . Del otro lado, te espera una imponente postal que tiene como protagonista un enorme espejo de agua.

Embalse de Potrerillos, otro imperdible de Mendoza en 4 días

Potrerillos es una localidad situada a 44 km de la Ciudad de Mendoza, al pie de la Cordillera de los Andes. Rodeado de montañas cubiertas de nieve y bosques, es un lugar que invita a tomar contacto con lo más puro de la naturaleza de esta región.

La villa es tranquila y cuenta con una amplia cartera de alojamientos y restaurantes, agencias de turismo aventura y más. El rafting, los paseos en kayak, las rutas de senderismo, la pesca deportiva y las cabalgatas son solo algunas de las propuestas que conforman su agenda turística.

Como no tienes el día entero a pasear por Potrerillos (aunque si deseas hacerlo y obviar alguno de los otros destinos no estaría mal), nuestro consejo es que te aboques a su embalse.

El Embalse Potrerillos fue inaugurado a fines del año 2001 y regula los caudales del Río Mendoza. Se trata de un inmenso espejo de agua color turquesa que ofrece una belleza paisajística notable. Las majestuosas montañas que rodean el dique y el aire puro que se respira allí crean las condiciones ideales para pasar un momento relajado junto al dique y compartir unos mates.

Alrededor del dique hay clubes deportivos, servicios, alojamientos, propuestas de turismo aventura y deportes náuticos. Si eres amante del velerismo, el windsurf, el canotaje y la pesca deportiva, no descartes la posibilidad de practicar alguna de ellas.

Reserva Villavicencio

Para el final del recorrido de este segundo día te invitamos a conocer la Reserva Natural Provincial de Villavicencio . La misma es famosa gracias a su moderna planta de agua mineral y su antiguo y prestigioso hotel, figura de la etiqueta de esta reconocida marca de agua. El espacio protegido ocupa una superficie de 70.000 hectáreas destinadas a resguardar la diversidad biológica, el valor histórico, cultural y arqueológico de la zona.

Luego de visitar el Embalse de Potrerillos tienes dos opciones: regresar a la Ciudad de Mendoza y desde allí hacer la ruta a Villavicencio, o bien, seguir hasta  Uspallata (a 66 km). Una vez en esta pequeña localidad situada al pie de la cordillera, puedes llegar a Villavicencio haciendo el famoso Camino de las 365 Curvas (más conocido como los Caracoles de Villavicencio ).

La misma consiste en una ruta de ripio de 52 km repleta de curvas y contracurvas. El camino es sumamente pintoresco y se disfruta, siempre y cuando las alturas no sean un problema para ti. El punto más alto de la ruta es la denominada Cruz del Paramillo, ubicada a 3.000 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Si te gustan los paisajes montañosos y tienes un auto adecuado para el ripio, no tendrás problema en llegar a Villavicencio de esta manera. Incluso, los vehículos más bajos también pueden transitarlo. Únicamente hay que conducir despacio y con cuidado.

La otra alternativa para conocer la Reserva de Villavicencio es regresar a la Ciudad de Mendoza y tomar la RP 52. La misma consiste en una interminable recta totalmente pavimentada y muy tranquila, que en su tramo final parece chocar con la montaña. Sin dudas, es una vía mucho más rápida y cómoda, pero menos atractiva desde lo paisajístico. Si llegas a Villavicencio por los caracoles, podrás regresar a la ciudad por esta carretera.

Tip viajero : si vas a hacer los Caracoles de Villavicencio procura tener suficiente luz solar. De noche puede ser peligrosa, dada la gran cantidad de curvas y, por momentos, la estrechez del camino.

Una vez en la reserva, no dejes de conocer el antiguo hotel de Villavicencio, contemplar su fachada exterior y recorrer sus jardines y alrededores. Todo el lugar es muy atractivo y vale la pena.

Una vez que hayas adquirido tu entrada, puedes optar por hacer el recorrido con un guía que te contará la historia del lugar y sobre la flora y la fauna de la reserva. La oferta turística también incluye rutas de senderismo y un parador en donde podrás comer o beber algo.

Día 3: Bodegas y Valle de Uco

Para la tercera jornada de este viaje por Mendoza en 4 días tenemos una experiencia gastronómica imperdible.

El vino es parte del ADN mendocino. La ciudad tiene una larga tradición vinícola, que comenzó alrededor de la década de 1890. Por aquel entonces, muchos inmigrantes llegaron a Mendoza y explotaron sus tierras fértiles en donde crecía fácilmente la vid. De ese modo, comenzó a desarrollarse una próspera industria del vino y la región creció rápidamente.

La provincia de Mendoza es la principal productora y exportadora de vinos de Argentina . Más de 150.000 hectáreas de viñedos aportan el 70% de la producción vitivinícola del país. Por eso, no debe sorprenderte que a lo largo y ancho de la provincia haya un gran número de bodegas (800, para ser exactos).

El clima templado y las condiciones de suelo resultan ideales para el cultivo de vid de alta calidad. A ello se suma la amplitud térmica, producto de la gran altitud, que proporciona humedad y aumenta la exposición solar, mejorando aún más las condiciones para la producción de uva.

Mendoza es la tierra del Malbec. Esta variedad de uva se desarrolla mejor que en cualquier lugar del mundo. A pesar de su origen francés, la mayor superficie cultivada se encuentra aquí. De todos modos, el Malbec no es la única estrella mendocina. Variedades como el Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Pinot Noir y Tempranillo también son muy importantes. A la hora de los vinos blancos destaca el Torrontés, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris y otras. Respecto a las Denominaciones de Origen, existen dos en Argentina, ambas de Mendoza: Luján de Cuyo y San Rafael.

Con tanta variedad de vinos no será ninguna sorpresa ver lo alegre que está la gente en los viñedos y bodegas. La combinación de vino, montaña y buena comida hace que la experiencia de visitar una bodega en Mendoza sea realmente única.

En la Ciudad de Mendoza y alrededores unas 150 bodegas abren sus puertas al turismo. Las mismas ofrecen degustaciones, paseos a caballo, a pie o en bicicleta por los viñedos, alojamiento en posadas dentro de los mismos complejos y mucho más. De telón de fondo, la majestuosa Cordillera de los Andes . ¿Se puede pedir más?

El Valle de Uco , por su parte, se encuentra situado sobre la mítica Ruta 40 y está conformado por los departamentos de San Carlos, Tunuyán y Tupungato. El mismo ofrece una postal montañosa de maravilla, con el Cerro Tupungato dominando el paisaje.

Un plan excelente es visitar las bodegas que se encuentran situadas en el Valle de Uco. De ese modo, matas dos pájaros de un tiro, sin tener que recorrer largas distancias.

Bodegas para visitar en Mendoza en 4 días

Hay muchísimas bodegas para visitar en Mendoza y sus alrededores. Nuestro consejo es que optes por una (dos como máximo) y vivas un día diferente.

• Andeluna : esta maravillosa bodega situada en pleno Valle de Uco fue fundada en el 2003 por un empresario norteamericano. Es famosa por producir vinos de gran calidad, además que tiene interesantes propuestas turísticas. Uno de sus programas es el llamado Tardecitas en Andeluna, un plan pensado para disfrutar de un atardecer soñado en cualquier estación del año. Además de los tradicionales paseos por las instalaciones y los viñedos, claro está. Las visitas a la bodega son de martes a domingos, con reserva previa.
• Zucardi : en el 2019 fue elegida como la mejor bodega del mundo . También situado en el Valle de Uco, este fantástico establecimiento ofrece otra experiencia inmejorable dentro de sus instalaciones. Su ubicación al pie de la Cordillera de los Andes permite que los viñedos produzcan uvas de gran calidad, con las cuales se obtiene un producto excepcional. Por su parte, el edificio es una verdadera joya arquitectónica que justifica aún más la visita.

La bodega ofrece recorridos a través de los viñedos, un restaurante con un menú de 4 pasos, degustación y vistas inigualables hacia las montañas. Las visitas son de miércoles a domingo, también con reserva previa.

• Trapiche : si buscas una bodega más cercana a la Ciudad de Mendoza, una opción clásica es la Bodega Trapiche, en la localidad de Maipú (a 17 km). Con más de 130 años de trayectoria, este establecimiento fue pionero en la introducción de cepas francesas, vinos varietales y otros destacados aspectos. Además de degustar sus vinos de renombre internacional, podrás complementar el paseo con una sabrosa experiencia gastronómica. Trapiche se encuentra entre las 100 mejores bodegas del mundo, así que sin dudas merece una visita. Las mismas son de lunes a domingo, con reserva previa.

Estas son solo 3 opciones de las muchas que hay en Mendoza. Si eres amante del vino, no deberías perderte esta experiencia increíble que combina paisajes, gastronomía y cultura.

Día 4: Circuito de Alta Montaña, otro imprescindible de Mendoza en 4 días

Para la última jornada del viaje te traemos una propuesta que coronará tu paso por Mendoza en 4 días . Eso sí, nuevamente toca levantarse temprano, puesto que hay varios km que recorrer. De todos modos, créenos que el esfuerzo valdrá la pena.

Tu travesía comienza sorteando los 120 km que separan Mendoza de Uspallata (mismo recorrido que el día 2). Una vez que llegues a esta localidad, tienes que seguir viaje por la ruta 7 hasta el paso fronterizo con Chile, pasando por el famoso Puente del Inca, el Parque Aconcagua y Los Penitentes. Si prefieres, puedes hacer también esta travesía en excursión y olvidarte de tener que conducir.

La ruta es increíblemente escénica y el Río Mendoza te acompañará en todo momento. Hasta llegar a tu primera parada pasarás por atractivos que harán que el camino sea muy llevadero.

Puente del Inca, uno de los grandes atractivos para ver en Mendoza en 4 días

El Puente del Inca es otra de las postales más famosas de Mendoza . Esta curiosa formación geológica se encuentra situada en un paraje cordillerano de enorme belleza, a 2.720 metros sobre el nivel del mar, y en uno de los centros termales más famosos de la Argentina.

El Puente del Inca tiene características que lo hacen un lugar único en el mundo. Se formó hace miles de años por efecto del agua rica en minerales y por su importancia fue declarado Monumento Natural . Lo más llamativo son las tonalidades naranjas, amarillas y ocres de la piedra, que sin dudas son las responsables de su encanto particular.

En la margen derecha se observan las famosas termas, cada una con diferentes temperaturas y componentes. A su alrededor hay imponentes cerros y el río Las Cuevas, que pasa varias decenas de metros por debajo del puente, coronando la postal.

¿Sabías qué? Este puente era usado por la cultura Inca, quienes aprovechaban las propiedades curativas del agua.

Un poco antes del Puente del Inca se encuentra el Parque Los Puquios , un pequeño centro de esquí con atractivos para toda la familia.

Circuito Laguna de los Horcones

Si te gusta el senderismo, esta propuesta que te traemos te encantará. En menos de una hora podrás hacer este paseo de un poco menos de 2 km que conduce a la Laguna de los Horcones, un espejo de agua de origen glaciar que se alimenta de las aguas de deshielo del cerro Tolosa. Situada a 2.950 metros sobre el nivel del mar, regala unas vistas imponentes del colosal cerro Aconcagua (conocido como el techo de Sudamérica).

Este pequeño espejo de agua se encuentra protegida por el Parque Provincial Aconcagua y forma parte de un humedal con una gran diversidad de flora y fauna. La caminata es autoguiada y apta para toda la familia.

El Parque Provincial Aconcagua es una de las 17 áreas protegidas de la provincia de Mendoza y tiene como principal protagonista al cerro Aconcagua, de 6.962 metros sobre el nivel del mar. El pico más alto de América y sus cumbres imponentes son un sueño para los andinistas. De hecho, cada año vienen desde diferentes partes del mundo con el objetivo de dominar su cima.

Estamos llegando al final de este viaje por Mendoza en 4 días , pero todavía quedan cosas por ver. Luego de hacer (o no) la ruta a la laguna, es hora de seguir viaje hasta Las Cuevas (no te preocupes, no deberás conducir mucho). A pocos km de Chile, este pintoresco pueblo de alta montaña enamora con sus casitas de estilo nórdico y escandinavo.

Cerca de Las Cuevas se encuentra también el túnel Cristo Redentor que permite, a través de sus 3.080 metros de longitud, acceder a Chile. Además, a 6 km, aproximadamente está Portillo, el complejo de esquí más importante del país trasandino, y a 154 km. Santiago de Chile, su ciudad capital. También, arranca en Las Cuevas el camino serpenteante que conduce al Monumento del Cristo Redentor .

Tu paseo por Mendoza en 4 días culmina frente a esta imponente imagen situada a 4.000 metros de altura, en la frontera con Chile. Esta obra construida en 1902 tiene 7 metros de alto y se ubica sobre un pedestal de granito de 6 metros, dominando la vista de los valles y montañas cercanas.

Un detalle a tener en cuenta, es que en invierno la ruta al Cristo suele estar cerrada por la nieve. Normalmente, los meses de enero y febrero es cuando se dan las mejores condiciones para visitar el monumento. El acceso es controlado por Gendarmería Nacional, por lo que si no puedes hacerlo lo sabrás.

We had to postpone this trip twice due to COVID restrictions in both the US and Argentina and it took us 2 years to finally get here from our original scheduled date. I was getting to the point where I just wanted to cancel the trip during that period. I'm sure glad we waited it out and finally made it. Everything was fantastic. Buenos Aires, Argentina We spent 3 nights in Buenos Aires which included 2 specialized/fun dining experiences, a tango show, and a private 1/2-day city tour. Transfers from the airport to the hotel were included along with the pick-up and return to the hotel for the tango show. The hotel was in the Palermo district and was near a lot of activities, restaurants, and bars. The hotel was very nice which included breakfast. It was an older boutique hotel with a lot of charm. The staff was friendly and did their best to speak in English to us. We made friends with a local cat that would visit us on our balcony every day. Iguazu Falls (Argentina/Brazil) We then flew up to Iguazu for an amazing 3 nights. Our hotel was in the rainforest and was extremely nice, clean, and very relaxing. Breakfast was included. The restaurant at the hotel was tops and we had lunch and dinner there during our stay. I highly recommend the hotel restaurant. If you want other dining options, you'll need a car or take a taxi into town, which we did one night. We went to the falls and spent a full day on the Argentinian side which included a boat ride under the falls. You will get soaked so be prepared, but it was so much fun. You get to see the falls from every angle on the Argentinean side and it was breathtaking. We also spent a 1/2 day on the Brazilian side one of the days. I personally think the view is better from the Brazilian side, but the Argentinian side gives you so many more viewing options. I recommend you see the falls from both sides since they are completely different and have amazing views. We had a private escort/tour guide the two days we went to the falls, and he was great. Iguazu is a must-see stop for your first trip to Argentina. Salta, Argentina We went from Iguazu to Salta for 5 nights. Our hotel was in the city center near some great restaurants. The hotel was older but very nice and clean. The staff was great and again they tried their best to speak to us in English. Salta is an area where knowing some Spanish would be helpful. This was the only part of the trip where we felt communication was a little difficult for us. Everyone was friendly and we were able to get by. Breakfast was included at the hotel, and it was a basic continental breakfast. All our activities were great, but again knowing some Spanish would have been better for us. I would still recommend Salta to anyone coming to Argentina. It's another region of the country so different from every other area we visited. It was very beautiful, and the people were so nice. Mendoza, Argentina Our last destination was Mendoza for 4 nights. Mendoza was super and all the activities we did were great. We did a wine tour one day which couldn't have been better. We spent a day horseback riding which included a BBQ after the ride with some of the best food we had in Argentina. This was probably one of our favorite activities we did. They really rolled out the red carpet for us and gave us some great memories. Our hotel in Mendoza was our favorite on our vacation. It was in a beautiful setting. We ate dinner at the hotel one of the nights and it was great. The staff was amazing, and it had everything we wanted. Experience Argentina Experience Argentina was great to work with and communicated with me multiple times throughout our vacation to make sure we had a great time. Right from the beginning, they helped us plan an amazing vacation. Communication was always easy either through emails and/or WhatsApp. Even with the trip getting postponed twice they were very flexible with us and made everything happen. All our drivers, activities, tour guides, and hotels were great, and everything went flawlessly. I highly recommend them to plan your vacation in Argentina. Best Moments from Trip We can’t say enough good things about the boat ride in Iguazu Falls which was one of the best memories that I think will come out of this vacation. They literally take you under one of the falls and everyone on the boat loved it, got soaked, and screamed in delight. We haven't laughed that hard in a long time and it was such a blast. The other thing that we loved was the horseback riding in Mendoza. It was so peaceful and beautiful. The horses and our guide were perfect and made for a great day. And the dinner they prepared for us was so excellent. They went above and beyond for this experience. These two activities set the bar for our future adventures, and we will base everything on them going forward. Finally, the food in Argentina is out of this world. I can’t say enough good things about the empanadas, meats, wines, and desserts we had for 17 days. We will eventually go back to Argentina and do the southern half of the country and I will be contacting Experience Argentina to help arrange that adventure for us. Found this company through Zicasso, Kieran was great arranging it all and communication was easy. Our trip started in Buenos Aires where we did a cooking class at the Argentine Experience and took a tango lesson. Our dance instructors took us out to a milongo afterwards and we ended up staying out until 2am. It was great! We felt completely immersed in the culture. We then flew to Iguazu and toured the jungle, got blasted by the falls in a boat ride and saw all the incredible creatures that live there. Our last 5 days were spent hiking in Patagonia where we trekked the Perito Moreno Glacier, visited a ranch, and then drove to El Chalten for the final days. We finally settled on a trip spending about 3 days in Buenos Aires, 2 each in Ushuaia, El Calafate, El Chaltén, and one in Puerti Iguazú. Argentina is a big country, so there were near full days of travel mixed in between towns. Kieran does a great job of arranging a relatively stress free holiday. He arranges in country air travel, transfers, hotels, guides, and excursions. We had never really taken a trip as long as two weeks before. We wish we had allowed at least three weeks, there is so much to see and experience. How truly grateful for Kieran taking the time to understand what we were desiring in our 30th wedding anniversary trip. Córdoba es una ciudad histórica y podés visitar el Convento de la Santa Cruz, el Parque Sarmiento, el Templo de los Doce Apóstoles, el Palacio de la Legislatura y el Mercado Central.

Rosario es la ciudad más grande de la provincia de Santa Fe y podés visitar el Monumento a la Bandera, el Monumento a la Independencia, el Paseo de la Costanera, el Parque Urquiza y el Museo de Arte Contemporáneo.

Buenos Aires Itinerary Day 1 // Arrive + Settle In

Arrive – Whether arriving by air, bus or train, watch your belongings as you navigate your way to your hotel. Pickpockets frequent tourist-dense areas. Uber is your best bet, or a registered taxi if you can’t connect.

Stay – We’d advocate for making San Telmo’s Lemon Suites your home, though a cozy AirBNB in Palermo is a wonderful alternative. 

Eat – Head to boutique wine bar Nilson outside the San Telmo Market for happy hour. Familiarize yourself with the country’s world-class wine selection and have some snacks as you adjust to the absurdly late dinner time in the city. Pop down to Café San Juan for a simply delicious Argentine meal perfect for your first night in town. Or, if you arrive late and want something quick before tucking in for the night, step inside San Telmo Market. There’s a taco shop on the corner, Thai just inside the entrance and many other quick bites.

Buenos Aires Itinerary Day 2 // A Self-Guided City Tour

Morning – Enjoy a short walk through San Telmo’s cobblestone streets lined with ornate doorways en route to breakfast at the grand Café Rivas . After, walk straight up the barrio’s grid of streets towards Plaza de Mayo . Marvel at the iconic Casa Rosada and imagine the tortured history of the square come to life. If you’re interested in a guided history of the city pre-book a free tour of the museum . 

Afternoon – Catch a taxi to El Ateneo Grand Splendid . The city is known for its unprecedented number of used book stores, but none are as magical as this converted theatre. Be sure to head up to the top floor for the best view. For lunch, make the trek to La Cocina for the city’s most famous Empanadas. Or treat yourself to gelato at Rapanui .

From there, you’re a short walk from Recoleta Cemetery . An oddly beautiful labyrinth of twentieth century tombs and fascinating untold stories. Get lost in the ornate maze for a couple of hours before catching a cab to Palermo. If there’s still some daylight head to the Botanical Gardens or post up on a bench in Plaza Armenia and people watch. Or spend the rest of the afternoon popping in and out of Palermo’s endless shops.

Evening – Start the night with happy hour beers and a snack at Nola . Or if you want to spend more time with the country’s wine, Pain et Vin will set you up with a guided flight. Once the sun has long been set and the locals are spilling into the bars, head to dinner. Choose El Santa Evita for a fun atmosphere and rowdy crowd. Or Proper for our favourite meal in town, with endless small plates highlighting the best of the country’s ingredients and wonderful wine pairings.

Buenos Aires Itinerary Day 3 // Culture Central

Morning – Hit up one of the many cafés in San Telmo for a light breakfast, but save your stomach for the epic lunch on its way. Uber down to La Boca to spend the day. Saturdays are best as the streets will be full of life and crime is less likely. No matter what day you go, don’t venture off the beaten path and be sure to arrive and depart by Uber or registered cab, always before dark. Walking to and from La Boca is strongly ill-advised. 

Monday to Saturday you can join a La Boca walking tour at 11am for ARS 600. It’s a great, safe way to see the neighbourhood and learn about its reputation and history.

Afternoon – Once you’ve acclimated to the neighbourhood it’s time for a big, big lunch. Head to Don Carlos , right across from the La Boca stadium, sit back and relax. The owner will seat you and let you know that he will be choosing your food. No menus or ordering required. He’ll bring you what he likes, along with a bottle of wine, if you fancy. It sounds odd but it’s awesome. The food is traditional and wonderfully prepared. Lots of comfort food and meat so be sure to go hungry. If the stars align and you’re in town for a football match head to La Bombonera stadium. If not, we’d suggest an afternoon siesta.

Evening – Experience another side of Buenos Aires culture with a Tango show. There are countless options in town and no doubt they all have their pros and cons. We opted for Homero Manzi . The show was impressive, the food was decent, and the bottomless Malbec made up for any shortcomings. Leave your expectations at home and enjoy some fabricated fun for an evening. You’re sure to have a grand time.

Buenos Aires Itinerary Day 4 // A San Telmo Sunday

Morning – Enjoy some extra sleep after what was likely a late night and when you’re ready to face the world stumble over to Plaza Dorrego . The square transforms on Sundays with vendors spilling out in every direction. Grab coffee from a passing cart, or have a light brunch at Casa Telma . Wander the stalls of antiques, learn about the history of the beautifully coloured glass soda sprayers, watch artists sketch in front of their stalls and get lost on the streets of San Telmo.

Note : Our 4-day Buenos Aires Itinerary is meant to be flexible. If day 2 is a Sunday, swap the order up so that you can make it to the Sunday Market. If you aren’t visiting on a Sunday at all, no worries, the central market is open every day.

Afternoon – When your feet are tired of navigating the endless vendors and your stomach is grumbling, set your sights on Nuestra Parrilla on the Westside of the Central Market in San Telmo. This charcoal grill offers arguably the best choripan in the city – maybe the country. There’s nothing better for soaking up few too many Malbecs than a greasy chorizo on a bun. Consider splitting a choripan before kicking off an afternoon food tour in San Telmo Market.

The empanadas from El Hornero are a must try. The massive crowd may dissuade you at first, but one of a dozen waiters will find you and ask for your order before finding you a place to sit and cracking you a cold beer, if you’d like. We can also vouch for The Market Burger , La Fabrica del Taco , and Gimme Curry . All amazing. But we aren’t done with the food tour yet so pace yourself.

As a treat to end the heavy food you can create your own tasting route of the local delicacy: dulce de leche . Just up the stairs from the main food court you’ll find two dulce de leche shops, both offering a line-up of flavours to try. We certainly wouldn’t judge you for heading back to Nilson after to wash it all down with another glass of wine.

Evening – If you don’t need a siesta that afternoon, you aren’t Argentinian yet. Be sure to wake up before the sun starts to set though. Take the Subway up to the National Congress building, or if you have extra time, check out the city’s version of the Washington Monument, Obelisco de Buenos Aires . Walk along Avenida de Mayo towards Palacio Barolo . Head inside and pay the entry fee for Salon 1923 on the 16th floor. Don’t worry, the cost will go towards your cocktails at the top. Grab a drink and station yourself on the Western side of the small patio to watch the spectacular sunset. If you’re hungry afterwards, you’re very close to one of the best pizza shops in town – Guerrin . Or head back to San Telmo. 

Around 8pm the vendors in Plaza Dorrego tear down and locals gather. The central square transforms as professional tango dancers set up speakers and the cobblestone becomes a stage. Be sure to wear your dancing shoes – you could be selected to learn some moves. Newbies stumble their way through with smiles on their faces while seasoned pros float around with impressive footwork. The whole neighbourhood will soon come to life with bands marching up and down the surrounding streets. The perfect send off from the city.

Ya queda muy poco tiempo para que tú también recorras Argentina en 10 días . Este inmenso país presume de casas de tango, fútbol y plazas monumentales en Buenos Aires , de glaciares de fama mundial como el Perito Moreno y de las impresionantes Cataratas del Iguazú .

Además, cuenta con paisajes que quitan el hipo en la región de El Chaltén , una gastronomía para chuparse los dedos, naturaleza salvaje, la hospitalidad de los argentinos y mucha historia y curiosidades que te van a sorprender.

Conocer bien Argentina en 10 días es completamente imposible, pero he preparado un itinerario variado con los lugares que yo visitaría en ese tiempo. Además, te cuento rutas alternativas y varios consejos que te pueden venir bien. ¡Yo estoy deseando volver!

Vuelo a Buenos Aires

El vuelo directo que nos llevó de Madrid a Buenos Aires duró 12 horas y 50 minutos. Tuvimos mala suerte porque en teoría era un vuelo nocturno, pero nos lo retrasaron 10 horas y acabó siendo un vuelo totalmente diurno. Esto, viajando a Buenos Aires con bebé , no es lo más cómodo.

Llegamos a Buenos Aires a las 19 horas, así que ese primer día solo nos dio tiempo a ir del Aeropuerto de Buenos Aires Ezeiza al centro , hacer el check-in en el hotel, comprar algo de cena para llevar y dormirnos pronto. ¡Queríamos estar descansados para nuestro viaje de 10 días por Argentina !

Itinerario del viaje a Argentina en 10 días

Primer día: centro histórico de buenos aires y la recoleta.

Vamos a empezar este itinerario por Argentina en 10 días con la capital de este precioso (e inabarcable) país. Para una primera toma de contacto, te recomiendo hacer este free tour por Buenos Aires , en el que se recorren las principales plazas y monumentos de la ciudad porteña.

Algunos de los lugares que ver en Buenos Aires son la Plaza del Congreso , el Palacio Barolo y la Plaza de Mayo , donde destaca la Casa Rosada, la Catedral Metropolitana y el Cabildo. También son impresionantes el Obelisco , el Café Tortoni (la cafetería más antigua de Buenos Aires) y la Avenida 9 de julio .

Además, te recomiendo visitar el Teatro Colón , que dicen que es uno de los teatros con mejor acústica del mundo. En la web oficial puedes reservar tu entrada al Teatro Colón con antelación para que no te quedes con las ganas de verlo por dentro, como me pasó a mí.

Nada más comer, continúa hacia el Ateneo Grand Splendid . En mi opinión, es una de las librerías más bonitas del mundo y merece muchísimo la pena entrar. Es un antiguo teatro reconvertido en librería y es una auténtica maravilla.

Este primer día del recorrido por Argentina en 10 días te recomiendo terminar en el señorial barrio de La Recoleta. Allí el gran protagonista es el Cementerio de La Recoleta , en el que están enterrados personajes célebres como Evita Perón. Puedes recorrerlo por tu cuenta o con este free tour por el cementerio de La Recoleta (ojo que cierra a las 17:00 horas).

La Recoleta es uno de mis barrios preferidos donde dormir en Buenos Aires . Cuenta con plazas muy agradables, como la Plaza San Martín de Tours, la Plaza Francia y la Plaza Mitre.

Pronto te darás cuenta de que es una de las zonas más exclusivas y elegantes de Buenos Aires , ya que está repleta de mansiones y sitios culturales súper interesantes, como el Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes o el Palais de Glace.

Ya que estás allí, aprovecha para ir a alguno de los mejores restaurantes donde comer en Buenos Aires muy bien. ¡Quién pudiera tomarse ahora un ojo de bife con patatas fritas! Si quieres más información, no te pierdas mi guía para visitar Buenos Aires en 2 días .

¿Quieres conocer los monumentos principales de Buenos Aires en un día?

Segundo día del viaje por Argentina en 10 días: Cataratas del Iguazú en Brasil

Hoy toca madrugar mucho para ir de Buenos Aires a Puerto Iguazú. Después de casi 2 horas de vuelo, ya estás muy cerca de conocer una de las Siete Maravillas Naturales del Mundo . Pero antes de nada, aquí te cuento cómo ir del Aeropuerto de Puerto Iguazú al centro .

En cuanto hagas el check-in y dejes tu equipaje en alguno de los mejores hoteles donde alojarse en las Cataratas del Iguazú , llega el momento de cruzar la frontera para visitar las Cataratas del Iguazú en Brasil .

El recorrido por el lado brasileño es más corto que en el lado argentino, ya que hay un único sendero (la Senda de las Cataratas ). Estar en plena selva viendo saltos de agua, como el Salto San Martín, el Salto Tres Mosqueteros y el Salto Dos Hermanas es realmente espectacular.

Como colofón, terminarás a pocos metros de la Garganta del Diablo , un salto de agua de 80 metros de altura que te va a dejar con la boca abierta. Aviso: ¡te vas a mojar un poco!

Una de las actividades estrella es el tour de aventura en Macuco Safari (con salida desde Foz de Iguazú). Nosotros viajamos a las Cataratas del Iguazú con bebé y no lo pudimos hacer, pero el paseo en lancha debe de ser pura adrenalina.

Otra opción es reservar esta excursión al lado brasileño desde Puerto Iguazú si no te apetece ir por tu cuenta, o darte un capricho y hacer el paseo en helicóptero desde Puerto Iguazú . ¡Ver los 275 saltos de agua desde las alturas es una imagen que no se olvida fácilmente!

Si te sobra tiempo en este segundo día de la ruta por Argentina en 10 días , puedes aprovechar para visitar el casco histórico de Foz de Iguazú . Tiene una mezcla cultural muy interesante, y prueba de ello es que hay un Templo Budista, la Catedral de Nossa Senhora de Guadalupe y la Mezquita de Omar Ibn Al-Khatab.

¿Quieres visitar el lado brasileño de las Cataratas del Iguazú desde Puerto Iguazú?

Tercer día: lado argentino de las Cataratas del Iguazú

El tercer día de la ruta por Argentina en 10 días nos toca otro de los platos fuertes. Si ayer visitamos las Cataratas del Iguazú en Brasil, hoy vamos a disfrutar de lo lindo con el lado argentino.

El Parque Nacional Iguazú en Argentina es bastante extenso, así que te llevará prácticamente todo el día recorrerlo. Lo primero que te recomiendo es ir a la Garganta del Diablo , ya que apenas hay sombra y el calor no pega tanto a primera hora. ¡Vas a alucinar cuando veas el salto de agua de 80 metros de altura!

Después puedes hacer el Circuito Superior y el Circuito Inferior (cuenta con 8 miradores). Ambos son de dificultad baja y es la mejor manera de ver las Cataratas del Iguazú desde diferentes perspectivas.

Si no hiciste el paseo en lancha el día anterior, la excursión al lado argentino desde Puerto Iguazú incluye esta actividad estrella, además de los traslados y guía en español. De todas formas, aquí te cuento en detalle cómo visitar las Cataratas del Iguazú en Argentina para que aproveches tu tiempo al máximo.

Hay más cosas que ver y hacer en Iguazú si te sobra tiempo. Como la visita del lado argentino es bastante larga, yo personalmente me decantaría por ir al Hito de las Tres Fronteras por la tarde. Es muy curioso ver desde un mismo punto las fronteras de Argentina, Brasil y Paraguay. De hecho, es uno de los planes que te recomiendo en mi itinerario por Iguazú en 2 días .

¿Quieres hacer la excursión al lado argentino con paseo en lancha rápida?

Cuarto día: vuelo a El Calafate y paseo por el centro

Cuando hice mi viaje por Argentina en 10 días , no había vuelos directos de Puerto Iguazú a El Calafate, así que no quedaba otra que hacer escala en el Aeropuerto de Buenos Aires. Esto implica que, entre una cosa y otra, tardarás unas 7 horas y media mínimo en llegar a El Calafate. Puedes comparar precios y reservar tu vuelo aquí .

Y ahora sí, ¡prepárate para alucinar con la Patagonia argentina ! Antes de nada, tendrás que ir del Aeropuerto de El Calafate al centro y dejar el equipaje en alguno de los mejores hoteles de El Calafate .

Nosotros nos alojamos en la Posada Los Álamos y fue, sin ninguna duda, el mejor hotel de todo el viaje . Tiene piscina climatizada, un restaurante donde sirven cordero al palo para chuparse los dedos y habitaciones amplias y acogedoras. ¡Cada vez me gustan más los hoteles decorados con madera! Puedes reservar aquí en la Posada Los Álamos .

Dependiendo de la hora que sea, tienes muchos planes que hacer en El Calafate . A mí me gustó mucho el Centro de Interpretación Histórica El Calafate y pasear por la Reserva Laguna Nímez . Además, en la Patagonia argentina se come de fábula. El cordero patagónico de Isabel Cocina al Disco y el chocolate de Ovejitas de La Patagonia están para repetir y repetir.

Si te alojas en un hotel con piscina, como en el que estuve yo, un buen plan es darte un chapuzón antes de cenar. Si viajas en invierno a El Calafate, asegúrate de que la piscina sea climatizada. 😉

Y un último consejo: hoy mejor no alargues mucho la sobremesa de la cena, ya que al día siguiente te espera un buen madrugón.

Quinto día: Glaciar Perito Moreno

La siguiente parada de este viaje por Argentina es el glaciar Perito Moreno , que no necesita presentación. Siempre me han llamado mucho la atención los glaciares, icebergs y paisajes cubiertos de nieve. Por eso, visitar el glaciar Perito Moreno era uno de mis grandes sueños viajeros. Y… (spoiler) ¡no defraudó!

Este gigante de hielo es uno de los mayores espectáculos de la naturaleza que he visto nunca. Dos de los planes imprescindibles este día son dar un paseo en barco para ver la magnitud del Perito Moreno y después recorrer las pasarelas.

Las pasarelas de observación son una parada obligatoria para contemplar el glaciar. Desde allí, podrás disfrutar casi en silencio de su pared frontal, alucinar con las grietas y quedarte con la boca abierta cuando veas y escuches los desprendimientos de hielo. ¡Brutal es poco!

La guinda del pastel es hacer un trekking sobre el Perito Moreno . Es mi gran espinita del viaje, pero justo mi hija Olivia cumplía 1 año y era un día especial para estar con ella.

Aun así, tengo claro que volveré para hacer el mini trekking por el Perito Moreno o la ruta larga de senderismo por el Perito Moreno . Normalmente ambas excursiones incluyen el paseo en barco y las pasarelas, así que tenlo en cuenta para no reservarlas aparte (salvo que quieras repetir, claro).

Si no vas a hacer el trekking, puedes reservar la excursión al Perito Moreno . Es una de las que hice yo y me encantó. Viajando con una bebé, era muy cómodo tener los traslados incluidos desde nuestro hotel.

Además, vas con un guía en español e incluye el paseo en barco por el Lago Argentino. Aquí te cuento mi experiencia en la excursión al Perito Moreno desde El Calafate por si te sirve.

¿Te apetece hacer el trekking por el glaciar Perito Moreno?

Sexto día: navegación por los glaciares

Seguimos el itinerario por Argentina en 10 días y hoy quiero que conozcas otros gigantes de hielo del Parque Nacional Los Glaciares. Tienen menos fama que el Perito Moreno, pero para mí fueron todo un descubrimiento. ¡No te los pierdas en tu ruta por El Calafate en 2 días !

En este parque nacional hay 47 glaciares mayores, que se dice pronto. Algunos de ellos podrás verlos durante la navegación por los glaciares, como el Upsala , el Spegazzini (mi favorito) o los glaciares Peineta, Seco y Heim .

También cruzarás la conocida como Boca del Diablo y estoy segura de que te quedarás de piedra al ver los enormes icebergs de un azul intenso esparcidos por el Lago Argentino. Este paisaje patagónico lo vas a recordar durante mucho tiempo.

Como no es posible acceder a estos glaciares por libre, tendrás que ir en barco sí o sí. Puedes ir por tu cuenta al muelle de Puerto Bandera o reservar la navegación por los glaciares si prefieres despreocuparte de todo. Esto último es lo que hice yo y volvería a repetir. De hecho, aquí te cuento mi experiencia en la excursión Todo Glaciares por si quieres saber más.

Séptimo día de tu viaje por Argentina en 10 días: El Chaltén

En este itinerario la idea es ir a El Chaltén muy temprano el séptimo día, aunque también puedes ir a última hora del día anterior si lo prefieres.

La mejor forma para ir de El Calafate a El Chaltén es en autobús y el trayecto dura alrededor de 3 horas. El Chaltén es conocido como la Capital Argentina del Trekking , así que prepara tus botas de senderismo porque las vas a necesitar.

De todas las rutas senderistas que se pueden hacer, sin ninguna duda te recomiendo subir al monte Fitz Roy en dos etapas. Puedes organizar todo por tu cuenta o reservar el trekking de 2 días por el monte Fitz Roy si no quieres preocupaciones.

El primer tramo va desde El Chaltén hasta Poincenot y pasa por el glaciar Piedras Blancas y la Laguna de los Tres. Cuando llegues al campamento base, podrás cenar allí y descansar para reponer energías. ¡Al día siguiente toca otro día de senderismo!

¿Quieres hacer el trekking de 2 días por el monte Fitz Roy?

Octavo día: fin del trekking por el monte Fitz Roy y planes alternativos

Después de descansar en el campamento base, el segundo día de trekking toca hacer el camino de regreso hacia El Chaltén . Si te gusta la montaña, ver flora y fauna y disfrutar de aire puro en plena naturaleza, vas a disfrutar un montón.

Si no te apetece dormir en un campamento base y prefieres hacer rutas de senderismo de un solo día, puedes sustituir el séptimo y octavo día de este itinerario por alguna de las siguientes excursiones:

• Senderismo por la Laguna Torre
• Trekking por el glaciar Vespignani y Lago del Desierto
• Senderismo por la Laguna Capri
• Trekking por el bosque petrificado de La Leona

Como en El Chaltén no hay aeropuerto, cuando termines el trekking de este día deberás tomar un autobús de regreso a El Calafate . Recuerda que el trayecto dura alrededor de 3 horas, así que no te duermas en los laureles. 😊

Noveno día: traslado a Buenos Aires y visita de San Telmo y Puerto Madero

Ya queda poco para que termine tu viaje por Argentina en 10 días , pero todavía nos queda algo de tiempo para conocer más lugares fascinantes.

Hoy toca madrugar de nuevo para tomar el primer vuelo de la mañana con destino a Buenos Aires. El trayecto dura 3 horas y será el último vuelo interno de este VIAJAZO (en mayúsculas).

Como llegarás a Buenos Aires a media mañana, te recomiendo empezar por San Telmo . Es el barrio más bohemio de la ciudad porteña y está repleto de casas de tango y tiendas de artesanías.

De este barrio me gustó mucho el Paseo de la Historieta con la famosa escultura de Mafalda, la Casa Mínima , la Plaza Dorrego y el estilo industrial del Mercado de San Telmo . Si es domingo, ¡no te pierdas la Feria de San Telmo ! Hay infinidad de puestos de antigüedades y productos vintage , así que es una buena oportunidad para llevarte un bonito souvenir .

A media tarde, acércate a Puerto Madero . Es una de las zonas más exclusivas y seguras de Buenos Aires y es completamente diferente al resto de barrios. Aquí abundan los rascacielos , como la Alvear Tower de 235 metros de altura, y las parrillas elegantes , como la Cabaña Las Lilas. No es el restaurante más barato de la ciudad, pero se come de maravilla.

En Puerto Madero destaca el Puente de la Mujer , obra del arquitecto Santiago Calatrava y la Fragata Presidente Sarmiento . También es muy interesante la Reserva Ecológica Costanera Sur , que cuenta con la mayor biodiversidad dentro de la ciudad de Buenos Aires.

Fin del itinerario por Argentina en 10 días: La Boca y vuelo de regreso

He dejado para el final uno de mis barrios preferidos de Buenos Aires. La Boca es un mundo aparte y no deberías irte de la ciudad porteña sin conocerlo. Nosotros hicimos este free tour por La Boca y nos contaron un montón de curiosidades.

La Boca era un antiguo puerto industrial y estaba repleto de conventillos donde vivían los trabajadores inmigrantes que llegaban en busca de un futuro mejor.

Gracias al proyecto de Benito Quinquela Martín, ahora es un barrio con calles y casas de colores , donde cualquier foto que hagas es para enmarcar.

Además de pasear por la famosa calle Caminito , no te pierdas la Plaza de los Bomberos Voluntarios , el Puente Transbordador Nicolás Avellaneda y el estadio de La Bombonera . Ya sabes que el fútbol es sagrado para los argentinos.

Itinerarios alternativos para tu viaje por Argentina en 10 días

Es muy complicado hacer un itinerario de 10 días por Argentina porque siempre te vas a quedar con las ganas de conocer muchos otros lugares. ¡Es un país gigantesco e inabarcable!

Mi mayor consejo, si quieres hacer un itinerario diferente al que te he propuesto, es que evites en la medida de lo posible coger vuelos internos cada 2 días.

Apurando, podrías meter 4 o 5 destinos en una ruta por Argentina en 10 días , pero vas a ir con la lengua fuera. Eso sin contar con las demoras que yo misma sufrí volando con Flybondi en los dos vuelos que reservé con ellos, por ejemplo.

En mi opinión, las Cataratas del Iguazú y El Calafate (Perito Moreno y el resto de glaciares) son las joyas de la Corona. Pero puede que a ti te interese más conocer el norte del país o centrarte solo en la Patagonia argentina. Aquí van algunas rutas adicionales para darte ideas:

• Buenos Aires, El Calafate y Ushuaia.
• Buenos Aires, Bariloche y Calafate.
• Buenos Aires, Iguazú y Salta y Jujuy.
• Buenos Aires, Salta y Jujuy y Mendoza.

Consejos para viajar a Argentina en 10 días

1) Muévete en vuelos internos. Argentina es un país enorme y con 10 días podrás ver solo un aperitivo de esta maravilla de país. Como las distancias son kilométricas, la única manera de conseguir ver más lugares es desplazándote en avión.

Imagino que tu vuelo de regreso a casa saldrá desde Buenos Aires, así que yo te recomiendo dormir en Buenos Aires la noche anterior por si el vuelo interno se retrasara.

Como te decía antes, a nosotros nos demoraron 3 horas el vuelo a Puerto Iguazú y nos adelantaron el de vuelta otras 2 horas, lo que implicó tener que estar en el Aeropuerto de Puerto Iguazú a las 5 de la mañana.

2) Cómo conectarse a internet en Argentina . En todo el viaje utilicé la eSIM de Holafly y me funcionó muy bien.

Ya sabes que no soy partidaria de estar todo el día pegada al móvil cuando estoy de viaje, pero sí me vino bien para ir publicando en redes sociales lo que hacíamos cada día y para mirar los horarios de monumentos, museos y restaurantes.

También me vino fenomenal para escribir a los hoteles cuando nos cambiaron los horarios de los dos vuelos. Recuerda que tienes un 5% de descuento en tu tarjeta SIM para Argentina por leer La Vida son Dos Viajes .

3) ¿Es seguro viajar a Argentina? Una de las preguntas que más me hicisteis durante mi viaje por Argentina en 10 días fue si el país era seguro o no.

De todas las ciudades que aparecen en este itinerario, El Chaltén, El Calafate y Puerto Iguazú son seguras (desde mi experiencia).

Donde sí debes tener un poco más de precaución es en Buenos Aires , especialmente cuando cae la noche. En el hotel nos advirtieron que las zonas de Retiro, La Boca y el Microcentro era mejor evitarlas a última hora del día. También te aconsejo no llevar objetos de valor a la vista para no tentar a la suerte.

4) No vayas a Argentina sin seguro de viaje . Cuando nosotros estuvimos en Argentina, era obligatorio contar con un seguro de viaje. De hecho, nos lo pidieron en la aduana. Ahora ya no hay esa obligatoriedad, pero sí es muy recomendable viajar con seguro .

La sanidad privada en el país es muy cara , así que si viajas sin seguro te arriesgas a tener que pagar de tu bolsillo todos los costes de la asistencia sanitaria. Si quieres saber más, echa un vistazo a mi artículo sobre el que, en mi opinión, es el mejor seguro de viaje a Argentina .

La correduría de seguros IATI, que es con la que yo llevo años viajando, ofrece precios muy competitivos . Además, por leer La Vida son Dos Viajes tienes un 5% de descuento directo reservando desde mi enlace.

5) En Argentina hay una divisa paralela. Te quiero contar esto para que sepas que existe. La moneda oficial es el peso argentino (ARS), pero también existe el cambio blue . Esta divisa está tan normalizada en el país que incluso publican la cotización diaria en los periódicos nacionales. Hay muchos “arbolitos” en la calle Florida que compran y venden divisas al tipo de cambio blue .

6) Elige bien la ubicación de tus hoteles . Esto es especialmente importante en Buenos Aires, ya que la ciudad es enorme y hay barrios más seguros que otros por la noche. A mí me gustan mucho ARC Arenales Studios & Suites y AQ Tailored Suites en La Recoleta, el Hotel Posada Los Álamos en El Calafate, Loi Suites Iguazú Hotel y O2 Hotel Iguazú en Puerto Iguazú y la Hostería Senderos en El Chaltén.

7) Reserva tus tours y excursiones con antelación . Yo suelo llevar los deberes hechos de casa para evitar problemas. En Argentina, reservar tus tours con antelación es especialmente importante en temporada alta.

Nosotros, por ejemplo, contratamos previamente la excursión al Perito Moreno y la navegación por los glaciares en El Calafate. También llevamos reservados varios traslados privados y el free tour por el barrio de La Boca .

8) Disfruta de la gastronomía local. Siempre que recuerdo mis dos viajes por Argentina en 10 días , sale a la palestra el tema de la gastronomía. ¡Qué bien se come en todo el país! Ojo de bife, bife de chorizo, empanadas argentinas, choripán, asado, cordero patagónico, helados de chocolate amargo… ¡Quién pudiera estar allí ahora!

9) Viajar a Argentina con bebé es posible. Nosotros estuvimos a finales de julio y principios de agosto, que es invierno, y la experiencia fue muy buena.

En las Cataratas del Iguazú íbamos en manga corta, en Buenos Aires hacía fresco (nada exagerado) y en El Calafate y El Chaltén es donde más se notaba la bajada de temperaturas. Aun así, con un buen abrigo, gorro y guantes se puede hacer perfectamente (aquí te cuento mi experiencia en El Calafate con bebé ).

10) Disfruta de Argentina. Este es el mayor consejo que te puedo dar para tu viaje por Argentina en 10 días . Coge siempre taxis oficiales, no intentes visitar demasiadas ciudades en poco tiempo, ve a Argentina (sea la época del año que sea), disfruta de algún espectáculo de tango en Buenos Aires y alucina con la naturaleza salvaje del país. ¡Apuesto a que querrás volver!

Gracias por haber visitado mi país y me alegra mucho que les haya gustado. Es un país que para conocerlo bien necesitarías estar varios meses viajando constantemente. Existen muchos lugares no promocionados como Paraná y Victoria en Provincia de Entre Ríos o Santa Fé y Rosario en la provincia de Santa Fé, los Valles de Calamuchita, Valle de Punilla y Valle de Traslasierra en provincia de Córdoba, Valles Riojanos en La Rioja, y un sin fin de lugares ocultos, como las provincias de Catamarca, San Juan, San Luis, Tucumán, etc, etc. Todas tienen lugares increíbles para conocer.

Sí, se te aplica el cambio oficial. Prueba a comprarlos desde otra IP (quizás en la tuya tienes cookies y te han aumentado el precio si has mirado los vuelos varias veces) o con el navegador de incógnito. De todas formas, en general los vuelos este año están todos por las nubes.

Cuánto me alegro de que te haya servido mi blog. Yo los compré desde España (pagando en euros), pero es muy probable que te salgan mejor de precio comprándolos desde Argentina. Yo optaría por una opción u otra en función de la flexibilidad de fechas que tengas. También te recomiendo mirar las frecuencias de vuelos que haya cada día en marzo, ya que si hay pocas quizás no te merezca la pena arriesgarte.

Naturaleza, historia y monumentos emblemáticos. En este tour descubriréis  lo mejor de Argentina en 14 días visitando Buenos Aires, Iguazú, Salta, Bariloche, El Calafate y Ushuaia . ¡Imprescindible!

Día 1: Buenos Aires

Pasaremos a recogeros por el aeropuerto o estación de autobuses de Buenos Aires a la hora de vuestra llegada. Os acompañaremos hasta el hotel para que descanséis del viaje y carguéis las pilas para el emocionante tour de 14 días que nos espera. ¡Bienvenidos a Argentina!

Día 2: Buenos Aires

Desayunaremos en el hotel y comenzaremos una completa ruta para conocer la capital argentina. Podréis escoger como hora de salida del tour las 9:15 o las 14:15 horas. En ambos casos conoceremos los puntos más importantes de la ciudad, como la Avenida 9 de Julio, el Teatro Colón y la Plaza de Mayo . El tour nos llevará también hasta el barrio de La Boca y Caminito, Puerto Madero, Palermo y, por último, Recoleta .

Si realizamos el tour de lunes a sábado, finalizaremos en Recoleta. En cambio, si el tour se hace en domingo, acabaremos la visita en San Telmo para que podáis conocer la feria de antigüedades. ¡Os encantará!

Día 3: Buenos Aires – Puerto Iguazú

Tras desayunar en el hotel, nos dirigiremos al aeropuerto o estación de autobuses de Buenos Aires para que viajéis por vuestra cuenta a Puerto Iguazú . Allí os estaremos esperando de nuevo para trasladaros al hotel. Una vez en él, tendréis el resto del día libre . 

Día 4: Cataratas de Iguazú (lado argentino)

Desayunaremos en el hotel y comenzaremos el día yendo a las Cataratas de Iguazú . En pleno corazón de las cascadas, concretamente en la Garganta del Diablo , descubriréis este salto de agua de más de 80 metros de altura. El lado argentino nos ofrece una serie de pasarelas que nos llevarán a admirar este espectáculo natural desde perspectivas totalmente diferentes. Con la cámara repleta de fotos, regresaremos al hotel de Puerto Iguazú entre las 16:30 y las 17:00 horas.

Día 5: Cataratas de Iguazú (lado brasileño)

El quinto día nos tocará conocer el lado brasileño de las cataratas . Si las vistas del día anterior os sorprendieron, esperad a escuchar cómo ruge el agua al otro lado de la frontera. Viajaremos hasta el Parque Nacional situado a las afueras de Foz do Iguaçu . Desde allí podréis admirar la imagen de postal que forma la frondosidad del paisaje subtropical. Finalizaremos el día regresando a los hoteles para descansar.

Día 6: Puerto Iguazú – Salta

Tras desayunar, os llevaremos al aeropuerto o estación de autobuses de Puerto Iguazú para que os desplacéis hasta  Salta por vuestra cuenta . Al recibiros en esta ciudad, os acompañaremos hasta el hotel. El resto del día tendréis tiempo libre.

Día 7: Salta

En el ecuador del viaje tendréis toda la mañana libre para explorar Salta. A   las 15:45 horas nos reuniremos para realizar una visita guiada de tres horas en la que conoceremos Salta y sus alrededores . Además, el guía os narrará la historia de la ciudad y de sus monumentos, como el Convento de San Bernardo , la iglesia de San Francisco o la Catedral .

Exploraremos el Cerro de San Bernardo, el campus de la Universidad Católica y, por último, conoceremos el pueblo de San Lorenzo . Si os parecía que Salta tenía poco que ver, descubriremos también su famoso Mercado de Artesanía. ¡Os encantará!

Día 8: Salta – Bariloche

Viajaremos de nuevo para seguir conociendo lo mejor de Argentina. Os llevaremos al aeropuerto o estación de autobuses de Salta para ir al siguiente destino:  Bariloche . A vuestra llegada, os estaremos esperando para trasladaros al hotel.

Día 9: Bariloche

Con el apetito matutino saciado, realizaremos un recorrido de cuatro horas para descubrir los paisajes de Bariloche . A través de 65 kilómetros, descubriremos los bosques, lagos y montañas que dan fama a esta región. Cerro Campanario, la Laguna El Trébol, las Penínsulas de Llao Llao y San Pedro , Cerro Catedral o la ciudad de San Carlos de Bariloche nos estarán esperando.

Día 10: Bariloche – El Calafate

De nuevo, os llevaremos al aeropuerto o estación de autobuses de Bariloche para que viajéis hasta El Calafate . Os recibiremos en vuestro destino y os llevaremos al hotel para que descanséis del viaje. Nos volveremos a ver al día siguiente.

Día 11: Parque Nacional de Los Glaciares

A primera hora de la mañana, nos dirigiremos al Parque Nacional de Los Glaciares para conocer el famosísimo  Perito Moreno . Exploraremos el parque al completo recorriendo sus pasarelas y balcones. Desde el primer momento, comprenderéis por qué este rincón de la Patagonia fue declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la Unesco.

Día 12: El Calafate – Ushuaia

Realizaremos las maletas por última vez para viajar al destino final del viaje: Ushuaia . Os acompañaremos al aeropuerto para que realicéis este último trayecto por Argentina. A vuestra llegada a Ushuaia, os estaremos esperando para acompañaros al hotel.

Día 13: Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego

Dedicaremos el penúltimo día de tour a conocer el Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego . Los paisajes que contempléis en este lugar no se asemejarán a nada de lo que hayáis visto anteriormente. Veremos el Canal Beagle, la península de Ushuaia y los archipiélagos Bridges, Willie y Les Eclauriers . Además, pasearemos por las inmediaciones del lago y del río Lapataia .

Día 14: Ushuaia

Llegó el último día de nuestra aventura argentina. Nos despediremos en el aeropuerto para que viajéis a vuestro lugar de residencia. ¡Ha sido todo un placer!

Argentina Itinerary Ideas: Options for 1-4 Weeks in Argentina in 2024

Looking for Argentina itinerary ideas for how to spend 1-4 weeks in the country? I’m a former Argentina expat who’s spent a lot of time travelling around Argentina. Here are my suggestions for how to plan the perfect itinerary for Argentina.

Welcome to the land of tango, wine and some of the most breathtaking landscapes on our planet – yes, we’re talking about Argentina!

It’s vast ( really vast, like the eighth largest country in the world kind of vast), so planning your trip can seem a bit daunting at first. But don’t worry, I’ve got you covered. Drawing from my two years of living and travelling extensively in this beautiful country, I’ve put together a range of itineraries to help you make the most of your time, be it one, two, three or even four weeks here.

From the buzzing cosmopolitan city of Buenos Aires to the stunning Iguazu Falls in the north to the majestic glaciers of Patagonia in the south, these itineraries are practical and achievable, and packed with the very best experiences Argentina has to offer.

Planning your Argentina travel itinerary

There are a few things you need to know about planning an Argentina itinerary – and what’s behind how I’ve designed these itineraries.

How much time do you need in Argentina?

Firstly, let’s address the elephant in the room – the sheer size of Argentina. As the eighth largest country in the world, Argentina is massive. The country stretches for about 3,650 kilometres from north to south and spans 1,400 kilometres at its widest point from east to west. Exploring all of Argentina’s diverse landscapes and vibrant cities requires some serious mileage and time.

So, depending on how much time you can get off work, you’re going to have to make some hard decisions about where to focus your itinerary.

I think you need a minimum of one week, which is where I’ve started these Argentina itinerary ideas.

Where should you start your Argentina itinerary?

All of the itinerary ideas I’ve included start from Buenos Aires. I’ve done this because it’s the capital city with the most international connections.

If you’re coming from a neighbouring country and crossing the border by land or flying into another Argentina city, you’ll need to adjust these itineraries.

How to get around Argentina

These itineraries all include flying – it’s the easiest and quickest way to get around Argentina.

Some cities in Argentina aren’t connected directly by air, so you might need to go via Buenos Aires. I’ve tried to avoid this as much as possible with these itineraries. Consider buying carbon offsets! Check Skyscanner for routes and pricing .

With some of these itineraries, you might be renting a car in Argentina – hello road trip! Driving in Argentina is safe and a great way to see the country. But I’ve only done this for certain sections of itineraries because it would take too long to do it all by car. Check car rentals online with DiscoverCars .

If you’re on a budget, bus travel might be a better option. I haven’t considered long-haul bus travel in any of these itineraries, so you will need to adjust based on bus schedules.

What do you want to see and do in Argentina?

These itineraries are just a guide. Adjust them based on what you want to do in Argentina. Do you want to get outdoors or are cities more your thing? Is trying local wines and Argentinian food a priority?

Pick your priorities and focus on these to get the best out of your time.

When is the best time to visit Argentina?

The best time to visit Argentina is spring, from September to November, when the weather is milder and crowds fewer. Autumn (March to May) is another great time to visit.

The peak tourist season in Argentina is during the summer months of December to February, but this also means higher prices and bigger crowds. Buenos Aires can be sweltering during these months, but it’s the best time to head south to Patagonia.

In the winter months (June to August), Patagonia pretty much shuts down, so you won’t be able to visit this region. But if skiing is on your cards, this is a great time to visit.

Argentina itineraries for 1 week to 1 month

Here are my suggestions for how to spend your time in Argentina. Click on the links below to jump straight to the itinerary of your choice.

For each itinerary, I list where to go each day and then, to avoid repeating myself for each section, I’ve included links to jump to the bottom of the article for details on what to do in each destination and where to stay.

Argentina itinerary 7 days

A week in Argentina may seem like a whirlwind tour, but with strategic planning, it’s enough to scratch the surface of the country (and leave you wanting more). Given the vastness of Argentina and the limitations set by flight connections, your itinerary will mostly be confined to a few days in Buenos Aires before whisking yourself off to one more destination of your choice.

You need to be realistic about what you can see and do in a week, which is why I recommend a few days in Buenos Aires followed by a few days in another destination before you head back to Buenos Aires for your flight home. Here are several options for how you can spend a week in Argentina.

Once you’ve decided on your itinerary, jump to what to do in Argentina to plan out your days .

Option 1: Buenos Aires and Mendoza

Discover what makes Buenos Aires such a cool city before heading over to Argentina’s most famous wine region, Mendoza.

Days 1-3: Buenos Aires – overnight in Buenos Aires

Days 4-6: Mendoza – overnight in Mendoza

Day 7: Return to Buenos Aires / depart Argentina

Option 2: Buenos Aires and Bariloche

Combine big-city Buenos Aires with the beautiful outdoors of Bariloche in northern Patagonia.

Days 4-6: Bariloche – overnight in Bariloche

Option 3: Buenos Aires and North Argentina

Spend a couple of days in Buenos Aires before heading to the north of Argentina – my favourite part of the country for stunning landscapes and wineries. You’ll need to cut your stay in Buenos Aires to two days to be able to fit in the highlights of the north.

Days 1-2: Buenos Aires – overnight in Buenos Aires

Day 3: Salta – overnight in Salta

Days 4-5: Purmamarca, Tilcara and Humahuaca – overnight in Purmamarca

Day 6: Cafayate – overnight in Cafayate

Day 7: Return to Salta, fly back to Buenos Aires / depart Argentina

Option 4: Buenos Aires and Peninsula Valdes

After a few days in bustling Buenos Aires, Peninsula Valdes is your next destination for wildlife watching.

Days 4-6: Peninsula Valdes – overnight in Puerto Madryn

Option 5: Buenos Aires, El Calafate and El Chaltén

Spend a few days wandering Buenos Aires then head south for hiking in Patagonia – including trekking on a glacier !

Days 3-4: El Calafate and Perito Moreno Glacier – overnight in El Calafate

Days 5-6: Hiking and views in El Chaltén – overnight in El Chaltén

Day 7: Return to El Calafate, flight back to Buenos Aires / depart Argentina

While you can see a few highlights in one week, I think 2 weeks in Argentina is the minimum time you should plan for a visit.

Here, I’ve got two different itinerary options – one explores the iconic Patagonian south of Argentina, while the other takes you to the beautiful north of the country.

I like to pack a lot in, so adjust these itineraries to suit your travel speed.

2 weeks in Argentina – Itinerary option 1

This itinerary explores cosmopolitan Buenos Aires before heading south for a taster of Patagonia’s highlights: Perito Moreno Glacier and hiking. Heading back north, you’ll then stop in either Mendoza for wine tasting or Bariloche for more outdoor experiences, before returning to Buenos Aires.

Buenos Aires – El Calafate – El Chaltén – Bariloche OR Mendoza – Buenos Aires

Day 4: Fly to El Calafate – overnight in El Calafate

Day 5: Perito Moreno Glacier – overnight in El Calafate

Day 6: El Chaltén – overnight in El Chaltén

Take a private transfer or the 3.5-hour bus trip to El Chaltén, Argentina’s hiking capital.

If you’ve arrived in the morning, then hit the ground running in the afternoon by heading off on an easy hike. The Mirador Los Condors/Mirador Las Aguilas or Chorillo del Salto hikes are both easy hikes between 1-2 hours long.

Day 7: Hiking in El Chaltén – overnight in El Chaltén

Day 8: Hiking in El Chaltén – overnight in El Chaltén

Day 9: Travel to Mendoza or Bariloche – overnight in Mendoza or Bariloche

You’ve got two options for the next leg of your trip. You can either head to the wine region of Mendoza or escape to the beautiful outdoors of Bariloche.

To get to either region, you’ll need to head back to El Calafate to catch your flight. Unfortunately, there are no direct flights from El Calafate to Mendoza, so you’ll have a long day of travel as you’ll need to connect (most likely through Buenos Aires).

There are direct flights from El Calafate to Bariloche daily.

Days 10-12: Mendoza or Bariloche – overnight in Mendoza or Bariloche

Day 13: Return to Buenos Aires. Spend the day ticking off anything you weren’t able to do when you first arrived in the city – overnight in Buenos Aires

Day 14: Fly home, sadly your 2 weeks in Argentina are up!

Argentina 2 week itinerary – Option 2

This itinerary starts in Buenos Aires, where you’ll explore what makes this city so cool. Heading north, you’ll visit jaw-dropping Iguazu Falls before heading to the desert for stunning landscapes. The visit to the north includes a few days exploring wineries in Cafayate , Argentina’s “other” wine region, before returning to Buenos Aires.

Buenos Aires – Iguazu Falls – Salta – Purmamarca (and nearby Tilcara, Humahuaca and Salinas Grandes) – Cafayate – Buenos Aires

Day 4: Fly to Iguazu Falls – overnight in Puerto Iguazu

Head to the airport for your flight to Puerto Iguazu. Check in to your hotel and, depending on what time you’ve arrived, head out for your first glimpse of the falls.

Days 5-6: Explore the incredible Iguazu Falls – both the Argentine and Brazillian sides if you can – overnight in Puerto Iguazu

Day 7: Fly to Salta – overnight in Salta

From the lush tropical rainforest, you’re now off to the desert. Catch a flight to Salta. Direct flights from Puerto Iguazu depart on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, so try to plan your trip around these days if you can. If not, you’ll probably have a long day of travel and have to transit through Buenos Aires.

Day 8: Salta – overnight in Salta

Days 9-10: Purmamarca, Humahuaca, Tilcara and Salinas Grandes – overnight in Purmamarca

Days 11-12: Cafayate – overnight in Cafayate

Day 13: Return to Salta and fly back to Buenos Aires – overnight in Buenos Aires

Today, head back to Salta. It’s a 3-hour drive, so plan your schedule so you can return your rental car and get a flight back to Buenos Aires.

Head out for your final night in Buenos Aires.

Day 14: Fly home

Today’s your final day in Argentina, so tick off anything you didn’t get done when you were in Buenos Aires earlier. 

With three weeks in Argentina, you can venture both north and south of the country. Here’s my recommendation for a 3-week trip.

Buenos Aires – El Calafate – El Chaltén – Mendoza OR Bariloche – Salta – Purmamarca (and nearby Tilcara, Humahuaca and Salinas Grandes) – Cafayate – Salta – Buenos Aires

Days 7-8: Hiking in El Chaltén – overnight in El Chaltén

Day 9: Fly to Mendoza or Bariloche – overnight in Mendoza or Bariloche

For the next part of the trip, you’ve got two options: head to Mendoza for wine country or Bariloche for beautiful outdoors.

To get to either region, you’ll need to head back to El Calafate to catch your flight. There are direct flights from El Calafate to Bariloche daily.

Unfortunately, there are no direct flights from El Calafate to Mendoza, so you’ll have a long day of travel as you’ll need to connect (most likely through Buenos Aires).

Days 10-11: Mendoza or Bariloche – overnight in Mendoza or Bariloche

Day 12: Fly to Salta – overnight in Salta

From Mendoza to Salta, there are direct flights on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

From Bariloche to Salta, you’ll have to transit via Buenos Aires, Mendoza or Cordoba.

Day 13: Salta – overnight in Salta

Days 14-15: Purmamarca, Humahuaca, Tilcara and Salinas Grandes – overnight in Purmamarca

Rent a car to explore this beautiful area north of Salta.

Days 16-17: Cafayate – overnight in Cafayate

Day 18: Return to Salta, flight to Puerto Iguazu – overnight in Puerto Iguazu

Head back to Salta with time to return your rental car and get on a flight to Puerto Iguazu. There are direct flights on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. If you can’t get a direct flight , you will need to go via Buenos Aires, which will make it a long day of travelling.

Day 19: Iguazu Falls – overnight in Puerto Iguazu

Day 20: Iguazu Falls, return to BA – overnight in Buenos Aires

Depending on what time your flight to Buenos Aires is, try to sneak in another visit to Iguazu Falls to gaze in awe.

When you arrive back in Buenos Aires, check in to your hotel and hit the town for your final night in the country.

Day 21: Buenos Aires and home

If you have a later flight, head out for one final exploration of Buenos Aires. Don’t worry – I know you’ll be back! 

4 weeks in Argentina itinerary

Now we’re talking! With a month in Argentina, you can see a lot of the country. Here’s a suggested 4-week Argentina itinerary. Once again, I have packed this itinerary, so you can slow it right down and just hit a few highlights if that’s more your travel style.

Buenos Aires – Tigre – Colonia del Sacramento (Uruguay) – Peninsula Valdes – Ushuaia – El Calafate – El Chaltén – Bariloche OR Mendoza – Salta – Purmamarca (and nearby Tilcara, Humahuaca and Salinas Grandes) – Cafayate – Iguazu Falls – Buenos Aires 

Day 4: Day trip to Tigre – overnight in Buenos Aires

Day 5: Day trip to Colonia del Sacramento – overnight in Buenos Aires

Day 6: Fly to Peninsula Valdes – overnight in Puerto Madryn

To get to Peninsula Valdes – where you’ll find sea lions, Magellanic penguins, elephant seals, plenty of birdlife and, depending on the season, whales – you can fly into Puerto Madryn or Trelew airports . Check both to see which has the best price/schedule.

Days 7-8: Peninsula Valdes – overnight in Puerto Madryn

Day 9: Fly to Ushuaia – overnight in Ushuaia

Head deeper into Patagonia. Ushuaia is the “end of the world” and the gateway to Antarctica.

You’ll need to depart from Trelew Airport . There are direct flights to Ushuaia on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

Days 10-11: Ushuaia – overnight in Ushuaia

Day 12: Fly to El Calafate – overnight in El Calafate

Day 13: Perito Moreno Glacier – overnight in El Calafate

Day 14: Travel to El Chaltén – overnight in El Chaltén

Days 15-16: El Chaltén – overnight in El Chaltén

Day 16: Fly to Mendoza or Bariloche – overnight in Mendoza or Bariloche

Days 17-19: Bariloche or Mendoza – overnight in Bariloche or Mendoza

Day 20: Fly to Salta – overnight in Salta

Day 21: Salta – overnight in Salta

Days 22-23: Purmamarca, Humahuaca, Tilcara and Salinas Grandes – overnight in Purmamarca

Days 24-25: Cafayate – overnight in Cafayate

Day 26: Return to Salta, flight to Puerto Iguazu – overnight in Puerto Iguazu

Head back to Salta with time to return your rental car and get on a flight to Puerto Iguazu. There are direct flights on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. If you can’t get a direct flight, you will need to go via Buenos Aires, which will make it a long day of travelling.

Days 27-28: Iguazu Falls – overnight in Puerto Iguazu

Day 29: Iguazu Falls, return to BA – overnight in Buenos Aires

Depending on what time your flight to Buenos Aires is, try to sneak in another visit to Iguazu Falls.

Day 30: Fly home

Sadly, it’s time to leave Argentina. You’ve fit quite a bit in with a month in the country! But I’m sure there are still things on your list that you’ll be back to tick off.

What to do in Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires was my home for two years and it’s an unforgettable city. A great mix of South American passion and culture and European architecture, you can easily fill three days in Buenos Aires .

On day 1, begin your Buenos Aires adventure in the city’s heart with a cortado at Café Tortoni. Explore the historic Plaza de Mayo, surrounded by the iconic Casa Rosada, Catedral Metropolitana and Cabildo. If visiting on a weekend, consider a guided tour of Casa Rosada.

Head south to the bohemian San Telmo neighbourhood, known for its antique shops and the bustling San Telmo market – best visited on Sunday for a fun atmosphere. Don’t miss El Zanjón de Granados, a network of tunnels beneath the streets.

Later, hop on a bus to La Boca to wander through El Caminito, the colourful streets that always appear in tourist photos. In the evening, learn about Argentine food culture with The Argentine Experience , and end the night at one of the city’s many cocktail bars.

On day 2, head to the elegant Recoleta neighbourhood (my old home!). Join a free walking tour with Free Walks Buenos Aires. Visit the opulent Teatro Colón and end your tour at the famous Recoleta Cemetery , home to Evita’s tomb. Marvel at the architecture of El Ateneo Grand Splendid, a bookstore housed in a former theatre. In the evening, catch a tango show at Bar Sur in San Telmo.

On day 3, spend your morning shopping in Palermo or admiring art at Museo de Arte Latinoamericano de Buenos Aires. Alternatively, relax in the parks of Palermo or visit the serene Jardín Japonés. Later, explore Buenos Aires’ street art with Graffiti Mundo . End your trip with a memorable dinner at Don Julio, one of the city’s most famous steakhouses. (I have more places to eat in Buenos Aires !)

Where to stay in Buenos Aires

Luxury: (⭐ 9.0) BE Jardin Escondido by Coppola was once Francis Ford Coppola’s house and is now a cozy boutique hotel in the trendy Palermo neighbourhood.

Mid-range:  (⭐ 8.7) The rooms at Hotel Club Frances , in the heart of Recoleta, are spacious and some have a sauna and spa bath.

Budget: (⭐ 9.7) Casa Caravan has to be one of the cooler hostels I’ve seen, with a gorgeous garden, swimming pool, bar, clean rooms and comfy beds.

What to do on a day trip to Tigre

Just a short train ride from Buenos Aires, Tigre (and the surrounding Paraná Delta) is the perfect place to chill out for a day. It’s an unexpected destination so close to a major city – a network of islands and canals that can be explored by boat. Spend your day cruising along the waterways, checking out the houses on stilts and belle époque mansions.

Don’t miss the Puerto de Frutos market where you can buy everything from homemade jams to artisan crafts. For art enthusiasts, the Museo de Arte Tigre showcases beautiful Argentine art in an equally stunning building. Those interested in history can explore the Museo Naval de la Nación, which explores Argentina’s maritime past. There are several riverside restaurants or cafes where you can eat a meal before heading back to Buenos Aires in the evening.

If you don’t want to visit Tigre alone, consider one of these tours:

• Tour the Tigre River Delta and San Isidro, including a cruise around the canals, the fruit market and the cathedral. Includes hotel pick-up and drop-off, guide and snacks. Book the Tigre and San Isidro tour here .

What to do on a day trip to Colonia del Sacramento

With an extra day in Buenos Aires, it’s easy to leap the Rio de la Plata into Uruguay to visit the town of Colonia del Sacramento.

Only a short ferry ride from Buenos Aires, this compact, historic town is a UNESCO World Heritage site with cobblestone streets, rustic old buildings and great restaurants. Begin your day trip at the Barrio Histórico, where you’ll find most of the town’s attractions. Visit the lighthouse, El Faro, for a panoramic view of the town and the river beyond.

Stop by the Plaza de Armas, where you can visit the Basilica del Santisimo Sacramento, an iconic structure that has stood the test of time since the 17th century. The Calle de los Suspiros (Street of Sighs) is filled with lovely buildings (and a supposed tragic past). There are also several museums.

Round off your day with a waterfront sunset at the old city wall before you hop on the ferry back to Buenos Aires.

What to do in Mendoza

Head to Mendoza to try Argentina’s famous Malbec wine in vineyards set among the mountains.

Mendoza has three wine regions: Maipu, Lujan de Cuyo and the Uco Valley. Explore them by bike, on horseback or via a guided tour.

Maipu is known for its traditional wine-making methods with several family-run wineries. Lujan de Cuyo is often referred to as the birthplace of Malbec. The Uco Valley has panoramic views and high-altitude vineyards.

Spend two days exploring the different regions. It can be hard to choose among the hundreds of vineyards around Mendoza, so leave it in the hands of a guide who can direct you to the best ones. Here are some recommended tours to consider:

Then dedicate the third day of your Mendoza adventure to rejuvenation and relaxation. Visit the Cacheuta Thermal Springs in the Andes mountains. These hot springs are a serene retreat, with therapeutic thermal waters, spa services and beautiful mountain views. Make sure you book the spa, not the water park. What to do in Bariloche

Welcome to San Carlos de Bariloche, the chocolate capital of Argentina – and one of the most beautiful places to visit in Argentina .

Start your first day by strolling around the charming Swiss-style architecture of the town, with its picturesque backdrop of mountains and lakes. The Centro Cívico is the city square with surrounding Alpine-style buildings that house the city’s main public institutions. This includes the Francisco Moreno Museum of Patagonia, where you can learn about the region’s natural and indigenous history.

No trip to Bariloche would be complete without indulging in its famous chocolate. Stroll down Calle Mitre, the main avenue, home to several renowned chocolaterías like Mamuschka and Rapa Nui. Try a few flavours along with a submarino , a type of hot chocolate that involves melting a whole bar of chocolate in warm milk.

On day two, embark on the stunning journey through the Ruta de los Siete Lagos , or the Seven Lakes Route. This scenic road trip, with its spectacular vistas of crystal-clear lakes, lush forests and snow-capped mountains, is unforgettable. Rent a car for the day or take a guided tour .

On your third day, surround yourself with even more beauty with a trip to Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi. There are plenty of hikes in the national park. Other ideas include taking a boat across to the beautiful Parque Nacional Los Arraynes or biking or driving the 65-kilometre Circuito Chico route.

Don’t want to get active? Then spend your third day in hippie-loving El Bolson, known for its beer and homemade sweet treats and jams. It’s a 2-hour bus ride from Bariloche.

Where to stay in Bariloche

One of South America’s most famous hotels, Llao Llao has hosted many famous guests. The dramatic scenery over the Moreno and Nahuel Huapi lakes and the nearby mountains make for a stunning location. Rooms are decorated in the warm style of a mountain lodge.

Wake up to a view of sparkling Nahuel Huapi lake from your comfortable bed at Las Balsas , located near the charming town of Villa La Angostura. The blue façade of the hotel has become its trademark, and it houses rooms that feel more homely than hotel.

What to do in Salta

Salta is the gateway to my favourite part of Argentina: the north. Visiting here means getting off the well-worn tourist trail and exploring an area that is filled with stunning landscapes and a culture far different to the rest of the country.

Salta is a charming city known for its Spanish colonial architecture. Start your visit by taking a stroll around the Plaza 9 de Julio, the city’s main square. Here, you’ll find the striking Salta Cathedral and the Museum of High Altitude Archaeology, which houses Incan artifacts and the mummified bodies of three Incan children discovered in the nearby mountains. In the afternoon, head to San Bernardo’s Hill for panoramic views of the city and the Lerma Valley. You can take the cable car (teleférico) up and then hike back down.

In the evening, head to a peña (a folk music event) to get a taste of Salta’s traditional music and dance.

What to do in Purmamarca, Humahuaca and Tilcara

In Salta, pick up a rental car and head north to Purmamarca, a village renowned for the dramatic Seven Colours Hill (Cerro de los Siete Colores). The drive takes about three hours, but take your time and stop in at the small towns along the way.

Wander around Purmamarca and pick up rugs, blankets and other woven goods at the markets, or take the easy 3km walk around the hill.

Staying overnight in Purmamarca means you’ll have the Seven Colours Hill all to yourself once the tour buses depart in the evening. It’s a beautiful spot at sunset.

On your second day, continue north to Humahuaca, a small town with a rich indigenous history. Here, you can visit the Monumento a los Héroes de la Independencia, a towering statue honouring those who fought for Argentina’s independence. The markets here are also good, filled with handmade crafts and traditional textiles.

Driving through the Quebrada de Humahuaca is stunning.

On your way to Humahuaca, stop at Tilcara to take a look at the ruins of Pucará, a pre-Incan fortress. There’s a hiking trail nearby, to Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Throat). The 4km walk through the canyon ends at a waterfall (which you can swim at).

Do a loop around to Salinas Grandes before heading back to Purmamarca. This expansive salt flat is the largest in Argentina and it’s fun to attempt to take those forced perspective photos you see everyone doing – we tried and failed!

• Budget: The rooms at La Valentina are small, but you won’t spend much time in there when you can be outside admiring the views of the Cierro de los Siete Colores from the patio. Check prices on Booking.com

What to do in Cafayate

After spending time in Purmamarca, prepare for an unforgettable journey southwards to Cafayate, a tranquil town renowned for its high-altitude vineyards and awe-inspiring landscapes. You’ll pass by Salta as you head south, but you can skirt around the city.

With two days here, you can spend your days exploring the local wineries in Cafayate . Cafayate is Argentina’s second centre for wine production and a bit of a hidden gem, I think. It’s famous for the Torrontés grape and it quickly became my favourite wine to drink in Argentina. El Esteco or Piatelli are great wineries to begin with.

Cafayate itself has a laid-back vibe, with its quaint streets lined with colonial-era buildings. Its main square is a hive of activity where locals set up stalls selling handmade crafts and freshly baked empanadas, and restaurants set up tables outdoors on warm evenings.

Don’t miss the chance to explore the Quebrada de las Conchas, a valley with stunning rock formations, on your way back to Salta. Make sure to pull over at the ‘Amphitheatre’, a natural formation boasting perfect acoustics and the ‘Devil’s Throat’, a sheer cliff face that captivates with its dramatic appeal.

• Budget: Book a room at Rusty-K Hostal and enjoy the large outdoor area that’s beautiful on a sunny day. Check the latest rates on Booking.com

What to do in Iguazu Falls

On your first full day here, head to the Argentina side of Iguazu Falls . Start early on the Paseo Inferior (the lower circuit) so you can avoid the crowds. Then head to the Paseo Superior (upper circuit). Both these circuits give you very different perspectives of the waterfalls, so make sure you do both.

You can’t miss taking the boat right under the waterfalls – prepare to get very wet! It’s a lot of fun.

End the day at Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Throat), which I think is the biggest and most spectacular sight of the waterfalls.

The next day, head across the border to Brazil. Remember to check if you need a visa!

Your hotel can recommend a driver or this private tour can organise transport for you .

Once at the Brazilian side of Iguazu Falls, use the shuttle bus to get around. Follow the 1.5-kilometre Path of the Falls for scenic views of the falls. The path crosses almost under the falls – prepare to get wet in some parts. Pack a rain jacket! If you forget one, you can purchase ponchos (although some people are kind enough to hand theirs over once they’ve finished with them).

If you want to see the falls from above, book a helicopter ride .

Once you’re done gawking at the falls, head back to Argentina and to your hotel.

Where to stay in Puerto Iguazu

Luxury: If you’ve got cash to burn and like understated luxury, then book a villa at Awasi Iguazú . Villas are located deep in the rainforest and have private decks and plunge pools.

Mid-range: (⭐ 9.0) If you want to be located only a stone’s throw from the falls, then choose Gran Melia Iguazú . This is where my husband and I stayed when we visited Iguazú Falls.

Budget: (⭐ 8.2) Simple but clean, Iguazu Falls Hostel gets great reviews from guests, and has a swimming pool.

What to do in Peninsula Valdes

Peninsula Valdes – or the Reserva Faunistica Peninsula Valdes more specifically – is the prime wildlife-watching destination in Argentina. From June to November, this UNESCO World Heritage Site is popular for whale-watching, while at other times of the year, you can see sea lions, elephant seals, dolphins and penguins.

On your first day in Puerto Madryn, get acquainted with the city’s marine life at the EcoCentro, a centre dedicated to Patagonian sea life. Afterwards, head to El Doradillo Beach, where you can, if you’re lucky (and it’s the right season), spot southern right whales just metres away from the shore. To round off the day, enjoy the sunset at Punta Cuevas, a small peninsula offering panoramic views over the city and the ocean.

On the second day, head out for a whale-watching trip. From June to November, you can spot southern right whales, while February to April brings orcas. Make sure you pick the right tour – it’s illegal for operators to go within 100 metres of a whale or to chase them. This tour gets good reviews .

If it’s not the right season when you visit, take a wildlife tour to see penguins and other marine animals.

On your final day, take a trip to Punta Tombo, home to the continent’s largest Magellanic penguin colony. It’s a 3-hour drive south of Puerto Madryn. On your way back to Puerto Madryn, stop in Gaiman for afternoon tea. This town was settled by Welsh immigrants and is known for its traditional Welsh tea houses.

To visit Peninsula Valdes, you can base yourself in Puerto Madryn or Puerto Piramides.

What to do in El Calafate

The highlight of visiting El Calafate is the chance to walk on a glacier.

Start your adventure in El Calafate by venturing out to the iconic Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the few advancing glaciers in the world. Book a Big Ice tour , which will pick you up in the morning for the drive to Los Glaciares National Park. Once there, you’ll be guided around the viewing platforms for your first sight of the glacier calving – it’s an unforgettable sight and sound.

Then, strap on your crampons for the hike on the glacier. Lunch is by one of the crystal-clear pools of water that have gathered on the glacier’s surface. The day ends with a boat tour before you head back to El Calafate.

Back in town, visit the Glaciarium, an interactive museum that offers deeper insight into the region’s glacial history. You can also wander alongside Lake Argentino and spot pink flamingos from the shore.

Where to stay in El Calafate

Mid-range: (⭐ 8.9) I recommend booking the stunning Hostería La Estepa , which has sweeping views over Lago Argentina. We stayed here on our trip and it was wonderful.

Budget: (⭐ 9.0) America del Sur Hostel is ideally located near downtown. The timber cabin-style hostel also has beautiful views.

What to do in El Chaltén

Once you’ve arrived in El Chaltén, hit the hiking trails. Argentina’s trekking capital is a gorgeous little town with plenty to fill a few days.

The most popular hiking trails lead to Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre, both of which have breathtaking views at the end. You can read my full guide to hikes in El Chaltén for more details, along with additional trail options.

If hiking isn’t your thing, you can also opt for horseback riding .

Make sure you wrap up a hard day of hiking with a visit to a local microbrewery and a meal at one of the restaurants to sample the region’s mouthwatering Patagonian lamb.

Where to stay in El Chaltén

Mid-range: (⭐ 9.0) To beat the morning hiking crowds, book a room at Destino Sur Hotel de Montaña & Spa , which is located close to the trails.

Mid-range: (⭐ 9.0) The spacious, padded dome tents at Patagonia Eco Domes have amazing views of the surrounding mountains. There’s no mobile phone coverage or internet, and each dome is powered by solar energy.

Budget: (⭐ 8.3) You’ll find competitive rates at Condor de los Andes . There’s a mix of shared dorms and private rooms, and breakfast is included in the rates.

What to do in Ushuaia

As you fly into “the end of the world”, admire the stunning views of Tierra del Fuego National Park before you decide what to do in Ushuaia .

Start your first day with a visit to the Maritime and Prison Museum, where Ushuaia’s history as a former prison colony is explored. Then, journey to the end of the world on the Southern Fuegian Railway, also known as the “Train of the End of the World”.

In the afternoon, take a relaxing and informative boat tour along the Beagle Channel . You’ll get the chance to see colonies of sea lions and diverse bird species.

End the day with a delectable king crab dinner at one of the local eateries – it’s the region’s most famous dish.

On your second day, head into Tierra del Fuego National Park. Trek along well-marked trails, soaking in the views of the snow-capped mountains, dense forests and pristine lakes and bays. There are plenty of adventurous day tours to book:

Descubre los imprescindibles que ver y que hacer en Buenos Aires en 4 días , la ciudad de la furia, sobre todo si tienes un par de días para recorrerla.

Hay tanto para contar sobre ella. Hay tantos rincones para descubrir que se me hace difícil este primer artículo. De hecho empiezo escribiéndolo sin saber muy bien cómo lo voy a orientar.

Peco de esta cuestión típica de « en casa de herrero, cuchillo de palo » no teniendo montones fotos de Buenos Aires . Solo tengo algunas de un viaje que hice con amigas españolas y de visita cuando yo vivía en Madrid , en la que jugué a ser turista en mi ciudad.

Cualquier artículo que haga sobre lugares imprescindibles qué ver en Buenos Aires en 4 días se quedará corto, porque la capital argentina tiene mucho para ofrecer según tus gustos: muchos museos, edificios con una arquitectura espectacular, toda la cultura del fútbol, barrios únicos, lugares de compra, excursiones para hacer en los alrededores…

Pero intentaré orientarlo a alguien que tiene poco tiempo, de tres a cuatro días , o que tiene una única oportunidad de visitar la ciudad y quiere ver lo más posible de ella. Cada uno de estos puntos que te propondremos estarán acompañados de artículos más completos para ampliar la información.

Un poco sobre Buenos Aires

Para ubicarla en la historia, comentar que en su primera fundación (1536) se le dio el nombre de Nuestra Señora del Buen Ayre en honor a la Patrona de los Navegantes del barrio de Triana en Sevilla, a cuya cofradía pertenecía Pedro de Mendoza.

Hoy en día, Buenos Aires se la conoce con distintos apodos. Localmente le dicen Baires, CABA o Capital Federal… pero también cariñosamente se la conoce como la París del Sur, la Reina del Plata y, por qué no, la Ciudad de la Furia (este apodo viene de una canción de Soda Stereo ).

Otra cosa a aclarar es que Buenos Aires es una ciudad autónoma , no perteneciente a ninguna provincia, y luego su área metropolitana formado por unas 40 comunas pertenece a la provincia homónima. Tan solo la ciudad tiene unos 3 millones de habitantes y, si sumamos la población que la rodea en el Gran Buenos Aires , tiene de 14 a 16 millones de habitantes, que es un tercio de la población total del país .

Por su localización estratégica a orillas del gran Río de la Plata , Buenos Aires se convirtió enseguida en uno de los puertos más importantes de América y la conexión principal con Europa. Fue recibiendo cada vez más inmigrantes europeos, en algunas épocas mayoritariamente españoles (cuyos descendientes son los que se lograron la independencia respecto de España) y luego muchos italianos. Pero también hubo corrientes inmigratorias en las que llegaron muchos franceses, suizos, alemanes, sirios, libaneses y judíos.

Es por eso que Buenos Aires es una ciudad cosmopolita que suele dar la bienvenida al extranjero y donde cada quien ha puesto un poquito de sí para construir esta gran urbe ecléctica .

¿Es seguro viajar a Buenos Aires?

Mucho se habla de si es seguro viajar a Argentina , especialmente a su capital Buenos Aires. Nosotros vivimos más de 7 años en Buenos y somos argentinos, por lo cual en este aspecto podemos darte consejos de primera mano.

Como regla general, si te mueves de día por los lugares turísticos que vamos a mencionar más adelante no hay mayores problemas. En estos lugares suele haber mucha policía vigilando.

Sin embargo, hay que tratar de no ser ostentoso en lo que llevas , es decir, relojes de valor, alhajas y todo lo que pueda ostentar dejarlo en el hotel. La cámara de fotos y el móvil lo puedes llevar siempre prestando atención.

Para moverse por Buenos Aires como turista durante el día, se puede hacer perfectamente en el metro , llamado subte aquí. Otros medios de transporte publico no los recomendamos, a excepción de la línea de tren Mitre en el ramal que hace Retiro a Tigre . Siempre moverse en taxi, excursión o transporte privado es la mejor opción, y en Argentina es barato.

Por la noche la situación cambia , y hay que trasladarse en taxi o transporte privado de un punto a otro. Se puede caminar de noche por zonas de mucha afluencia de público como pueden ser los bares y restaurantes de Recoleta o Palermo , pero el resto de lugares hay que evitar caminar de noche.

Como cualquiera podría pensar, su nombre no deriva de que esté allí el estadio del equipo de fútbol de Boca Juniors , sino que viene de que se encuentra la desembocadura (boca) del Riachuelo en el Río de la Plata .

Al ser la zona de mayor entrada de barcos , a finales del siglo XIX se asentaron allí muchos inmigrantes italianos , principalmente genoveses, que le dieron al barrio su fisonomía actual. Estos vivieron en conventillos (casas de vecindad en España) cuyas paredes eran de chapa y estaban pintadas con los sobrantes de la pintura de los barcos . Normalmente una lata de pintura no alcanzaba a pintar una casa completa, así que normalmente las casas presentaban distintos colores .

• Caminito : es una calle o pasaje dentro del barrio de la Boca a cuyos lados se pueden ver los coloridos conventillos . Desde la década del ’50, dada la popularidad que adquirió gracias a un tango y a la iniciativa de algunos de sus vecinos entre los que se encontraba Benito Quinquela Martin , esta calle es peatonal y un museo al aire libre .
• Puente transbordador Nicolás Avellaneda : hay muy pocos puentes de este tipo en el mundo. Este estuvo en funcionamiento desde 1914 a 1960 y desde el año 2017 se ha arreglado, pero aún no está abierto al turismo.
• El Estadio Boca Juniors : se encuentra a unos 400 metros de Caminito. Es el estadio de uno de los equipos de fútbol más importantes y populares de Argentina, el Club Atlético Boca Juniors, también conocido como la Bombonera. En su interior, merece la pena visitar el Museo de la Pasión Boquense y, de ser posible, presenciar un partido de fútbol.

Que hacer en el Barrio de San Telmo

Sal Telmo es de los primeros barrios de Buenos Aires y es por eso que allí se respira un aire especial. Huele a arquitectura colonial, a calle empedrada, a plazas llenas de cotidianeidad. Seguro presenciarás un espectáculo callejero de tango ya que su música suena en cada rincón.

• Paseo de la Historieta y el Museo del Humor : comenzando en un banco de la calle donde se encuentra sentada Mafalda, se pueden visitar otros puntos del barrio de San Telmo donde se encuentran algunos de los personajes más queridos de la historieta argentina, como Isidoro Cañones, Clemente, Larguirucho y Super Hijitus.

Que hacer en la zona Plaza de Mayo en Microcentro

Este es el corazón de la ciudad de Buenos Aires , donde se encuentran los principales edificios históricos para ver.

Que hacer en Buenos Aires en 4 días, zona del Obelisco

La zona que rodea el Obelisco es de las más transitadas de la ciudad y, como símbolo, constituye uno de los principales lugares que ver en Buenos Aires.

Que hacer en Puerto Madero

Puerto Madero se extiende a lo largo de un sistema de diques intercomunicados entre sí , con puentes giratorios y dos canales de acceso, uno al norte y el otro al sur. Y es una zona de oficinas y residencias bastante top imprescindible que ver en Buenos Aires en 4 días.

• Pasear por los docks : se observan las grúas amarillas y lo que antes eran los depósitos y silos de almacenamiento y hoy se han convertido en oficinas y residencias.
• Puente de la Mujer : fue el primero de los diseños que el arquitecto español Calatrava hizo en América Latina. Se trata de un puente con tirantes, giratorio y de color blanco que se ha llamado Puente de la Mujer.
• Fragata Sarmiento : Es un buque escuela construido a finales del siglo XIX que ha dado unas 39 vuelta al mundo en misión de paz. Se puede visitar el museo que hay en su interior.
• Reserva Ecológica Costanera Sur : es una de las reservas urbanas más grandes de América Latina donde abundan más de 2000 especies de aves, mamíferos, plantas y árboles.

Que hacer en la zona del Congreso y Avenida de Mayo

La avenida de Mayo parte de la Plaza de Mayo y llega hasta la plaza de Congreso, donde se une con la eterna Avenida Rivadavia (la más larga de Argentina).

Que hacer en el barrio de la Recoleta

Convengamos que viajar a Buenos Aires por turismo y visitar un cementerio es algo que puede sonar a priori extraño. Pero el Cementerio de la Recoleta es una obra de arte en sí misma que no te puedes perder si vas a visitar Buenos Aires.

Es, desde 1946, Museo Histórico Nacional y casi 100 mausoleos en su interior han sido declarados Monumentos Históricos Nacionales .

• Cementerio de la Recoleta : En este cementerio descansan los restos de familias aristocráticas argentinas, ex-presidentes del país y personalidades de renombre nacional. Parece una mini ciudad, con sus manzanas, avenidas, calles y rotondas, y los mausoleos y panteones presentan diversos estilos arquitectónicos espectaculares. Uno de los mausoleos más visitados es el de Evita Perón.
• Árbol Patrimonio Histórico : se trata de un gomero de gran tamaño plantado en 1781. Sus ramas alcanzan los 30 metros de largo.
• La Biela : es de las cafeterías más tradicionales de Buenos Aires y se encuentra frente al Cementerio de la Recoleta. Tiene mucha historia ya que ha sido muy frecuentado por personalidades de importancia de Argentina.
• Las plazas de los alrededores : alrededor del Cementerio de la Recoleta hay muchos espacios verdes entre las que destaca Plaza Francia o la Plaza San Martín de Tours. Los fines de semanas son sus días más frecuentados ya que se arman puestos de ventas de artesanía y espectáculos callejeros.
• La Facultad de Derecho de Buenos Aires : es un edificio muy fotogénico y hermoso de contemplar desde el puente que cruza la Avenida Figueroa Alcorta. Muchos se acercan hasta sus escalinatas para realizar fotos creativas. La Facultad de Derecho funciona en este edificio desde 1949.
• Floralis Genérica : es la escultura de una flor de acero en el medio de una fuente. Tiene un sistema eléctrico que permite que la misma abra por la mañana y cierre por la noche.
• Museo de Bellas Artes de Buenos Aires : alberga una importante colección de arte clásico europeo. Algunos de los artistas que se exponen son Rembrandt, Rubens, Renoir, Cézanne, El Greco, Rodin, Picasso, Goya, Monet y Van Gogh..

Que hacer en Palermo en buenos aires

Palermo tiene muchas divisiones y una vez que te aprendés una, aparece otra. Muchos van a disfrutar del ambiente, porque el parque que lo rodea, tiene un césped super verde y cuidado ideal para hacer un picnic.
• Museo de Arte Latinoamericano (Malba) : es un museo de arte moderno con obras de artistas latinoamericanos a partir del siglo XX. También en el lugar se realizan eventos culturales y hasta tiene una sala donde se proyecta cine independiente.
• Plazoleta Julio Cortázar : alrededor de esta pequeña plaza que lleva el nombre de uno de los grandes escritores argentinos, se encuentra lo que se conoce como el Soho. Es una zona en la que hay bares y restaurantes por doquier.
• Plaza Armenia : ya que en la zona hay una gran comunidad de armenios viviendo allí. Al igual que en Plaza Cortázar, en sus alrededores está lleno de bares y restaurantes. Los fines de semana y festivos funciona una feria de artesanos.

– Cómo llegar a Buenos Aires

A) llegar a buenos aires en avión.

Desde el extranjero, sobre todo desde otro continente, el aeropuerto principal es el que se encuentra en Ezeiza , el ministro Pistarini. Aunque también hay un aeropuertos más, el Aeroparque Jorge Newbery , que recibe vuelos de Argentina y de los países limítrofes.

Luego, dentro de Argentina, funcionan bastante bien (aunque con retrasos) y son cómodos si se consigue un asiento cama o semi-cama.

d) Llegar a Buenos Aires en tren

Es una opción que se está volviendo cada vez más popular como una forma de viajar distinto. Realmente si hay algo que le falta a Argentina es una buena red ferroviaria (y rápida) que haga traslados de pasajeros, realmente sería fenomenal contar con una.

Dia 1 em Buenos Aires

Pela tarde, é uma boa ideia passear pelo  bairro Palermo  e visitar o  Museu de Arte Latino Americana , o belo   Jardim Japonês   e o Hipódromo de Palermo, que é muito bonito e lá acontecem diversas corridas de cavalos durante o ano.

Aproveite a noite para uma combinação prática de restaurante e balada. Prática, pois a   melhor balada de Buenos Aires , a Asia de Cuba, é um restaurante até a uma hora da manhã, quando as mesas são retiradas e o lugar se transforma em uma grande pista de dança.

Dia 3 em Buenos Aires

Uma boa atividade para começar o terceiro dia em Buenos Aires é ir até o bairro La Boca e fazer um tour pelo  estádio La Bombonera , casa do famoso time de futebol Boca Júniors. O estádio tem uma estrutura de admirar que pode ser conhecida durante a visita guiada, e também conta com um museu da história do time.

Em seguida, vá para o  bairro San Telmo , que é uma atração por si só. Ele fica logo ao lado de La Boca e lá você vai sentir a atmosfera da Buenos Aires antiga e boêmia. Almoce em um dos botecos famosos que existem ali e, se estiver por lá no domingo, dê uma passada na Feira de San Telmo. Nela os comerciantes vendem antiguidades e existem vários artistas se apresentando.

Pela noite, uma boa ideia é jantar no melhor e mais comentado restaurante de Buenos Aires, o Aramburu. Ele é um pouco caro, mas vale cada centavo pela experiência. Lá só existem 6 mesas e o chef Gonzalo Aramburu serve 12 pratos para degustação em cada uma delas.

Também há uma versão mais simples do restaurante, chamada Aramburu Bis. Nele a comida é da mesma qualidade, mas o cardápio é maior e mais barato. Depois de jantar, tente entrar em algum dos speakeasy  bares de Buenos Aires   que estão escondidos pela capital argentina.

Dia 4 em Buenos Aires

Guarde o quarto dia do seu roteiro em Buenos Aires para conhecer a cidade de Tigre, que está a 33 km da capital argentina. Lá é possível fazer um bonito passeio de barco no Rio Tigre . A viagem acontece no delta do rio, que até chega a lembrar um pouco os canais de Amsterdã.

Essa é uma atividade diferente e que encanta os visitantes. Na volta para Buenos Aires, uma boa ideia é almoçar no La Bourgone. Ele fica no bairro da Recoleta, dentro do Alvear Palace Hotel. O restaurante é conhecido pela sua criatividade dos pratos e pela atenciosidade dos funcionários.

Aproveite o resto do dia para fazer algumas compras em Buenos Aires. O shopping mais famoso da capital argentina é a  Galerías Pacífico , um prédio antigo que um dia já foi uma galeria de arte, e por isso seu interior é todo decorado. Hoje ele ocupa um quarteirão e abriga diversas lojas de marcas famosas, exposições e cursos de dança.

Clay Feagler es el primer campeón del PGA TOUR Americas

TULUM, México – El estadounidense Clay Feagler trabajó más que nadie para salir victorioso en el Bupa Championship at Tulum que abrió la temporada inaugural del PGA TOUR Americas. Para entrar al field de este torneo, el lunes pasado tuvo que superar un hoyo de playoff en la clasificación abierta y este domingo necesitó de cuatro hoyos extra para vencer a su compatriota Davis Shore, con quien había empatado el primer lugar con total de 4-bajo par 284 en los 72 hoyos del campeonato.

Después de jugar tres veces el hoyo 18 para mantenerse iguales, el playoff por el título se definió en el par-4 del hoyo 10, en donde ambos jugadores pasaron por el drama de ver su segundo tiro ir al agua. Shore vio su pelota ir al agua por segunda ocasión al volver a tirar a green y en esas circunstancias a Feagler le bastó un bogey para quedarse con el triunfo.

“Obviamente estoy cansando, pero al mismo tiempo muy feliz”, admitió Feagler, un graduado de la Universidad de Pepperdine que a sus 25 años logró aquí su primer título como profesional. “El último año ha sido difícil con todo lo que ha pasado y venir aquí y superar la clasificación del lunes para tener oportunidad de jugar y hacerlo de la forma que lo hice ha sido increíble. Toda la semana fue increíble”.

Feagler entró al PGA TOUR Americas con estatus condicional tras finalizar la temporada 2023 del PGA TOUR Canadá en el puesto 78 de la Fortinet Cup. Ahora, como ganador, aseguró estatus completo para el resto de la temporada y se colocó de primero en la carrera por la Fortinet Cup que recompensará a los 10 mejores jugadores de la temporada con estatus exento en el Korn Ferry Tour.

Triunfar en el demandante campo de PGA Riviera Maya, en donde el promedio de golpes para el torneo fue de 74.65 (+2.65), colocó a Feagler de vuelta en la senda correcta tras un 2023 que fue muy difícil en lo personal.

“Perdí a mi padre en marzo del año pasado. Yo inicié ese año en el Korn Ferry Tour, pero no jugué buen golf y tuve que buscar otras alternativas. Me fui a Canadá y aunque jugué bien, no pude enfocarme apropiadamente, el golf no estaba ahí. Estaba tratando de superar lo de papá, así que tenía mucho en mi cabeza”, dijo el campeón sobre el impacto que significó el fallecimiento de su padre, Try Feagler, hace apenas un año.

“Sé que él está allá arriba mirando hacia acá y sonriendo. Fue una gran semana y hoy pude sentir su presencia junto a mí. Creo que todas las personas que han estado a mi lado, mi madre, mi hermana y obviamente mi novia, han sido grandiosas”, agregó el jugador que tuvo a su novia Meredith como su caddie en los últimos dos días del torneo.

Detrás de Feagler, quien ganó 500 puntos para la Fortinet Cup y se llevó un cheque por USD $40,500 dólares, y Shore, quien ganó 300 puntos, el tercer lugar en solitario fue para Julián Etulain. El experimentado argentino hizo 69 golpes en esta ronda final para acabar con un total de 3-bajo par que lo dejó apenas un golpe fuera del playoff por el título.

“Yo la verdad que contento con el trabajo que hice”, dijo Etulain, quien hoy anotó un valioso birdie en el difícil par-3 del 17 que le permitió separarse de un grupo de tres jugadores que empataron el tercer lugar con 2-bajo par. “Sabía que tenía que jugar bien ayer sábado para darme una posibilidad hoy. Pude jugar bien ayer y pude rematar hoy”.

Con su semana uno en la historia, el PGA TOUR Americas permanecerá una semana más en México para disputar el Totalplay Championship at Atlas Country Club. El segundo torneo de la temporada y del Swing Latinoamericano dará inicio este jueves que viene en Guadalajara, México.
