Everything we know about Rihanna’s rumoured 2023 UK tour

Fans are convinced that the singer will announce a string of global dates following her Super Bowl halftime show

Amy Houghton

2023 is officially the year of the massive comeback. Queen Bey has announced her  Renaissance W orld Tour , Madonna is celebrating 40 years in music with her first greatest-hits tour and now the rumour mill is buzzing with talk that Rihanna is about to swoop in and complete the holy trinity. What a time to be alive.

The ‘Navy’, as Riri’s fans call themselves, have been waiting for this moment for what feels like aeons. We already know that the singer will be performing for the first time in seven years at her much-hyped Super Bowl performance later this month (Sunday February 12 2023) but many are convinced that a tour will shortly follow. Here’s everything we know so far.

Is Rihanna going on tour in 2023?

Long story short: we don’t know. But apparently we could find out soon, despite the fact that there’s still no confirmed news of an album.

What do we know about Rihanna’s potential tour dates?

It’s thought she will announce her North American dates first and will later confirm a European tour for 2024.

Last time around, her tour spanned 71 dates in cities across the world and included six UK shows, so if she does indeed hit the road this year we might expect something similar. However, an insider source recently told The Sun : ‘Her plan is to set up mini residencies in major cities rather than visit multiple places. She wants her next global outing to be swift and easy as she plans to refocus on Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty after her brief return to music.’

Any news on how to get tickets?

Unfortunately not. But don’t fret, we’re keeping an eye out so you don’t have to.

What’s been said about the tour so far?

Since a tour hasn’t actually been confirmed yet, very little has been said on the matter by those in the music industry. It’s safe to say, though, that fans are in a bit of a frenzy over the whole thing.

When might Rihanna announce the tour?

It’s hoped that an announcement could follow hot on the heels of RiRi’s Super Bowl performance next week.

When was the last time Rihanna went on tour?

She last toured back in 2016 following the release of her album ‘Anti’ . The ‘Diamonds’ singer has not taken to the stage since her 2018 Grammys performance, instead focusing on her fashion and beauty empire, Fenty.

Live reviews

Rihanna made her entrance through one of the tunnels like a boxer coming out for the main event. Concealing her face under a heavy hood, she slowly found her way onto the platform opposite the stage. A spotlight followed her every move, making the white robe glow, while phone lights provided stars to pierce through the dark night surrounding her. A single microphone waited on a stand as thunderous applause and ear-piercing screams filled the venue, and it served to silence the crowd in an instant. “All along it was a fever, a cold sweat hot-headed believer…” Having exposed nothing more than her unmistakable voice (and fingernails and unmistakable ass) to her audience, there was no doubt as to who was hiding under that robe. The entirety of “Stay” was performed from that position, before she revealed her face. Having attended close to a thousand concerts, it’s not often I find myself in awe at being in close proximity to a musician, but seeing Rihanna standing in front of me, in the flesh, made me realize what a cult of personality she has built around herself. As she continued the performance with “Love the Way You Lie (Part II)”, she was part pop diva, part rock star, part sex symbol, all while never being anything but Rihanna. She is still so young, yet has already solidified herself among the very few people in history who everyone will know by a single name. It was very in the show, but I was already convinced she had earned that status as well. Her voice is her defining talent, but her business acumen, stage presence, attitude, and beauty are what complete the package. - See more at: http://ilistensoyoudonthaveto.com/2016/05/10/rihanna-viejas-arena-05-09-16/#sthash.AluW51yF.dpuf

With all that has happened in France recently, Rihanna faced a stiff challenge getting Parisians and herself in a summery party mood at the Stadt De France.

However, she seemed to instinctively make the right choices to tap into the crowds fears, their need to reflect and their right to sing and dance without care. Rihanna opened the show hidden beneath a white hooded sweater and sang the wistful 'Stay' - a song whose lyrics took on a lot of ambivalence given the current political climate.

The songs from her Anti album were well received even though their lazy, sexy groove is more suited to a more intimate arena. Among the many hits from the album, 'Desperado' and 'Kiss it Better' stood out as they showcased Rihanna's scything vocals and Prince-like funk.

Rihanna also expertly mixed in medleys of favourites such as 'Umbrella', 'Man Down' and 'We Found Love in a Hopeless Place.' An undoubted highlight was 'Diamonds' which was introduced with a genuinely heartfelt speech by Rihanna expressing support for peace and the people of France. She then asked for the stadium to send out its light to France by way of illuminated mobile phones and the result was a spectacular touching moment.

By the end of the show, everyone had fallen more in love with Rihanna and headed back into the dark Parisian night with a little more light in their hearts and minds.

You've seen her music videos. You follow her on twitter. You follow her style, trends, favorites. You sing the lyrics in the shower, driving home with your friends, serenading a lover. But nothing is as real as seeing Rihanna perform live!!! The energy from the audience, the attitude and power that's thrown back off the stage...ah-maz-ing. The peeks and valleys from the soulful serenade of Stay to the sexy shock of S&M it's all new once you hear it live! One of my favorite things about going to a show is not only the excitement building up to it, buying the tickets then getting my bracelet and going in. That's just the beginning. I love more than anything, after seeing a great show and I'm back at home listening to the music, remembering where I was, who I was with, how I felt, what I saw and how much fun we were having when we were rocking out and suddenly, Rihanna isn't just some celebrity entertainer, she is a part of something bigger and the music is suddenly different, better, more meaningful. I've seen Rihanna a couple of times and every time that girl delivers. Her fans love her, she has attitude and swag that makes her real and sometimes the energy leaves you glowing for days and asking yourself, how long do I have to wait until music makes me feel this high again?

It was a great concert from the begining. DJ Mustard started the show, and it was wery good warm up, people were dancing.

Then after a little break came on the stage Big Sean. That was also powerful performance and we really enjoyed that.

After another break started Rihanna's show. She came from the back of the arena to the little stage above the soundmen. Two slow songs were awesome. Than she walked on steel and glass bridge and sing a song Woo and another one above us. See was so close to us, that was perfect. Then the reast of the show was on the main stage. She sings wery well, but the sound was overbassed, and the singing can't be heared clearly, that was mistake. Also she was'n talk much, she gave us one song after another. But the songs are so great. It was generally songs from the new album Anti, great. The show duration was 90min.

I'm so blessed that I was on the show. I was great. Thank you and hopefully see you RiRi again soon.

Rihanna's Anti World tour concert in Malmö was even better than I expected. I have to be honest, I was not a big fan of hers but of course Queen Riri changed that with her beautiful yet slaying personality and amazing voice. The overall experience was fun althought the only thing that was a littlee annoying is the fact that the concert started a little more than an hour later than what it was supposed to. But I mean.. it's Rihanna, she can do whatever. A tips from me would be to either buy the standing tickets as close to the scene as possible or buy the ones that are high up and on the opposite side of the scene. I was up and although it was long away from Riri it was magical to see all the people and the lights and literary everything. If you're hesirating weather you should go or not I would tell you to go go go, because it is such a beautiful and fun experience to have!

In one word - unforgettable.

Rihanna was in rare form. This tour has a more subdued palette than her other tours, as the stage was a blank white, and all of her outfits were in shades of cream, tan, black, and brown. However, there was a special energy in the room that night. Rihanna seemed happy, comfortable, and more in control than she has ever been. She joked with the crowd, engaged with all sides of the arena, and made sure everyone had a good time. Halfway during the concert, she announced that it was party time, and the stage lit up with these cool colored pods that pulsated in different colors. Other highlights include her flying over the audience, a foam machine on stage, and her dancers exciting the crowd in sparkly outfits.

I envy those who are going to see her, and implore those who can still buy tickets to do so!

Rihanna is probably one of the best pop artists at the moment. I've gone to three shows - first in Portugal, in her "Loud" tour; 2nd in London in a small venue for her "777" tour; and the last one in Richmond park, as part of the "Unapolagetic" tour. All of them were incredibly amazing! Her songs put so much energy in the crowd and it's impossible to not get stuck to her dance moves and stage special effects.

From the lights, sceneries, to the outfits - everything is top quality and very sophisticated and original.

You are able to listen to the top hits, and also some medleys from her older stuff. Setlists are wisely chosen, as they keep the crowd excited along the show.

I would definitely go to her next show - it's always a surprise and somewhat different from what she has done until now.

Daaaammmn. I didn't know what to expect, especially since I found myself more excited for the preshow of 'the weeknd'to the Rhianna tour and contemplated selling the tickets after he and Travis Scott pulled out. I'm glad I didn't. The show itself made me realise just how many anthems Rhianna has to her name. These sprinkled throwbacks were the most memorable for me throughout the show. The set and lighting combined to give a fab production value over all, in particular the very beginning where Rihanna emerged from behind and took a smaller stage before flying off on a clear platform across to the main stage. Overall I really really enjoyed the show. Wasn't quite one that made me jump and wave my arms around, but one that made me appreciate the talent Rihanna clearly has.

Rihanna Is Reportedly Gearing Up To Announce A Global Tour This Year

preview for Rihanna Posts Video of Son To Tiktok

When Rihanna announced she'd be returning to performing at this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday, February 12, her fans went wild. Could this mean the pop star was making a return to music? Her last performance was in 2018 at the Grammy Awards, and since then the musical artist has been seemingly focused on her beauty empire and becoming a new mother, leaving some were wondering if she'd ever get back to her first love: music.

The source added, “Her plan is to set up mini residencies in major cities rather than visit multiple places.”

The Anti singer has also been seen at the studio these past few months, though some people suggested she might be visiting A$AP Rocky. However, with the release of Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever came two songs for the soundtrack by Rihanna, “Lift Me Up” and “Born Again. So she has been recording, though the promise of a tour does not necessarily go hand-in-hand with a new album.

The source did say she'll be keeping the rumored touring short, because her focus is still on Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty.

In November of last year, Rihanna told E! News ' Justin Sylvester that even the Super Bowl halftime show is just 12 minutes long, so she isn't really nervous about filling the time after putting on two hour shows most of her performing history. However, she is considering some surprise guests.

“Twelve minutes?” she said. “You could actually do that by yourself, but it's one of those things where you can decorate it however you want. So whether I choose to do it for myself or whether I choose to bring some of my peers on, it's…I don't know what I'm gonna do yet.”

She added, “It's gonna be great either way.”

Rihanna’s Rumored 2023 Tour May Be Announced After The Super Bowl Halftime Show

Riri may be coming to a city near you.

MILAN, ITALY - July 13: Barbadian singer and songwriter Rihanna performs live at San Siro Stadium in...

Rihanna’s first performance in over five years may be setting the stage for an upcoming world tour. The “Work” singer is rumored to be embarking on her first world tour in over seven years, since 2016’s Anti Tour, and she might be announcing tour dates and details shortly after her Super Bowl Halftime Show on Feb. 12.

Page Six reported on Feb. 7 that three different sources have heard “rumblings” of tour plans , which were being kept very secret. “There has been a lot of talk among people in the know, especially in the last week or two, that Rihanna is gearing up to announce a tour,” an insider said. “It seems to be more than just hearsay at this point.” The outlet may be onto something, as just days earlier, The Sun also reported that a Riri tour was in the works.

Rihanna announced that she would headline the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show in September, immediately causing buzz that a new album would finally follow after nearly seven years of waiting. However, she quelled the speculation that November, telling the Associated Press that the Super Bowl and the release of new music are two separate things that may not intertwine. However, she didn’t say anything about a tour, and wouldn’t it just make sense for tickets to go on sale after she makes her big comeback at the Super Bowl? Here’s everything to know about Riri’s (alleged) 2023 tour.

Rihanna’s Potential 2023 Tour Dates

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN - JULY 4: Rihanna performs live at Tele2 Arena on July 4, 2015 in Stockholm, Swede...

Given how Rihanna has yet to confirm a world tour is even happening, dates have naturally not been announced yet. However, The Sun reports that Riri will perform in North America in late 2023 before going international next year. “She has her North American dates ready to announce for 2023 after the Super Bowl and it will be a matter of time before European dates are announced for 2024,” the outlet claimed.

In addition, she will reportedly do mini-residencies at arenas in select major cities, like Harry Styles’ 2022 Love On Tour, rather than play larger stadiums or embark on a more extensive arena trek that visits more cities.

Rihanna’s 2023 Tour Tickets

NEW ORLEANS, LA - NOVEMBER 15: Rihanna performs live on the last show of her tour at New Orleans Ar...

Since tour dates have yet to be announced, ticket details are a little ways off — if the tour reports are even true. However, if reports that Rihanna will play arenas in select cities rather than stadiums are accurate, then expect tickets to be an ordeal to get, especially following the Super Bowl. Rihanna has reportedly signed an eye-watering £32million comeback deal with Live Nation.

Yep. You read that right. £32million. Mind. Blown.

The superstar singer, 35, is said to be planning a ‘major’ tour spanning 2024 and 2025 and has ‘two albums’ worth of new material to release into the world.

Rihanna, who shares sons Riot Rose, two months, and RZA, 15 months, with rapper A$AP Rocky, has apparently already set her creative team to work and they’re currently cooking up on tour details in LA.

A source said this week: ‘Rihanna is quietly planning a comeback tour after signing with Live Nation.’

They added to the Mirror : ‘The deal was created to facilitate a world tour and her creative team is quietly at work in Los Angeles putting it all together as she raises her family.

‘She’ll press play on the live show once she’s ready to go back to work and has two albums’ worth of material to release once she’s back.’

It’s no surprise Rihanna already has her eyes set on the future, with the A-lister going back to work just one month after confirming she’d welcomed her second child .

In September, the hitmaker, real name Robyn Rihanna Fenty, unveiled Fenty x Puma’s latest collaboration and looked nothing short of glorious in the promotional video.

TMZ  confirmed on August 21 that the A-listers had welcomed another little boy and his name started with an ‘R’ too.

Rihanna and A$AP welcomed their first child, Rza, in May 2022.

Rihanna returns to work after giving birth to second baby AVANTI

The Barbadian singer  announced she was pregnant once more  in truly epic fashion during her Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show performance.

In it, she unzipped her incredible red fur coat to unveil her already blooming baby bump.

After a rep for the star confirmed the news, she gave fans a backstage glimpse of her growing youngster in a picture that showed her cradling her bump before the show.

The Fashion Awards 2019 - Red Carpet Arrivals

Just like her pregnancy with RZA, Rihanna  championed her ever-changing body  in a number of stunning outfits that highlighted the beauty of pregnancy.

She bared her gorgeous bump during the  Louis Vuitton After Show  and during a  swanky dinner date in France,  both accompanied by her adoring partner.

Meanwhile, on the music front, if Rihanna does drop a new album next year, it’ll be her first since 2016’s Anti.

Rihanna teases new music and world tour: “Let’s just blow everything up”

A new album will mark her first full LP since 2016’s ‘Anti’

Rihanna has teased that there may be new music and world tour on the horizon.

The moment came during a new red carpet interview, which saw her asked about when fans can expect to see her return to the stage after taking a hiatus from music.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight , she hinted that there have always been plans for her to return to performing, but that she would rather wait until she has new music before she commits to a full tour.

“Well we’re always gonna go back on tour,” she told the outlet. “[But] I feel I want to do a tour when there’s new music. We already know what that’s gonna be, with the songs that I’ve performed on my last tour. That was a long time ago.”

“I feel like it’s only fair that my fans get what they’ve been waiting on, which is new music. After that, lets just like, blow everything up,” she continued, potentially suggesting a packed schedule of performances coming in the future.

Rihanna’s last full-length album came in the form of ‘Anti’ – her eighth studio record, which arrived at the beginning of 2016.

She also went on to admit that she felt the release was her “most brilliant album” to date , and that its legacy – along with her perfectionist tendency –has gotten in the way of her releasing her next work.

“I realised that if I keep waiting until this feels right and perfect and better, maybe it’s going to keep taking forever and maybe it’ll never come out and no, I’m not down to that,” she explained previously. “So I want to play. And by play, I mean I have my ideas in my head, but I can’t say them out loud yet.”

The Fenty fashion label owner was also reportedly set to go on tour this year, before finding out she and partner A$AP Rocky were expecting their second child, Riot Rose . She is now rumoured to be one of the two female headliners booked to top the bill at the festival in 2024 .

Rihanna’s last release was the 2022 song ‘Lift Me Up’ , the sombre lead single to the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack and a tribute to late actor Chadwick Boseman .

Since the track was shared, Rihanna has gone on to headline the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show , where she revealed her second pregnancy to the world. Ahead of the performance, she told Associated Press that “Super Bowl is one thing. New music is another thing,” insinuating she wasn’t releasing music around the time of the performance.

Rihanna is rumoured to be doing a stadium tour in 2023

By Hayley Habbouchi

Is Rihanna going on tour in 2023? Here’s the lowdown as the speculation continues.

Rumours have been circulating that Rihanna could be touring this year!

The return of Riri has already been teased for some time after the mum-of-one dropped two songs as part of the Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, all while she prepares for her exciting Super Bowl halftime performance on February 12.

The Fenty Beauty mogul has been focusing on her beauty and lingerie empires in the past few years and until 'Lift Me Up', hadn't dropped any solo music since her last studio album ‘ANTI’ in 2016.

However, since Rih’s confirmed Super Bowl performance, fans are convinced now more than ever that R9 is set to be released soon , which is said to be followed by a stadium tour.

According to reports, Rihanna will be heading on a stadium tour across the globe, which is likely to support her upcoming album.

Rihanna is apparently headed on a world tour next year

Will Rihanna go on tour in 2023?

The rumour mill is flooded with speculation that Rihanna is set to embark on a world tour later this year.

It would be the perfect time for Riri to get back to performing as she’ll mark her first return to the stage at the Super Bowl halftime show, which has already become hugely talked about online.

Fans have been sent into a frenzy over the news of a potential Rihanna tour, of course, as it’s been six years since she toured her last album with 71 shows across the world.

Most recently, rumours began swirling that Riri will be headed on the road following her Super Bowl halftime performance, with an insider telling PageSix : "There has been a lot of talk among people in the know, especially in the last week or two, that Rihanna is gearing up to announce a tour. It seems to be more than just hearsay at this point.”

Meanwhile, a second source said: “Even some members of Rihanna’s team have been kept in the dark. It’s all a big secret, from the details of her halftime show to what’s next — if anything.”

The ‘We Found Love’ songstress is yet to confirm a tour is on the way, but keep your eyes peeled on this page for more info!

Rihanna is thought to be touring her new album in 2023

When will Rihanna release her new album?

Most speculation is pointing to a 2023 release for Rihanna’s ninth studio album.

So far, very little is known of the ‘Work’ singer’s new album, however, she has spoken about it on a number of occasions over the years.

In September 2021, Riri teased a brand-new sound for her forthcoming project, telling AP at the time: “You're not going to expect what you hear. Put that in your mind.

"Whatever you know of Rihanna is not going to be what you hear. I'm really experimenting. I'm having fun, and it's going to be completely different.”

She has also confirmed on numerous occasions that a Reggae-infused album is in the works, previously telling Vogue: “I like to look at it as a reggae- inspired  or reggae- infused  album. It’s not gonna be typical of what you know as reggae. But you’re going to feel the elements in all of the tracks."

Rihanna To Embark On Stadium Tour Following 2023 Super Bowl Performance

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

Folks are still processing the thought of Rihanna returning to the stage, as she recently announced that she will be headlining the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime show this coming February.

🚨 Rihanna will embark on a stadium tour next year, HITS Daily Double reports. pic.twitter.com/kDKJc86mNv — Pop Base (@PopBase) October 13, 2022

While we patiently await new music from the new mother and Fenty extraordinaire, we just got word from Hits Daily Double that Rihanna is on the list of artists set to go on a stadium tour in 2023. They also mentioned that she is cooking up some new music which may also be released next year.

Beyoncé, who released “ Renaissance ” in July, is also on the roster for a stadium tour in the works for 2023.

We recently reported that the tour would kick off sometime next summer.

Rihanna has yet to validate any reports about concerts in 2023. Still, her upcoming Super Bowl production could be the reason for her interest in a musical comeback, in terms of performances at least.

The self-made billionaire’s high vibrational plate is complete as she continues to expand and multiply her Fenty empire, so we all respect her break from music. With the success of Savage X Fenty, Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin, it’s possible that she now has room to jump back into the start of it all — her vocals over the perfect beat.

The critically acclaimed 2016 release of Anti, along with the Anti World Tour, which both had sensational outcomes, comprised Rihanna’s most recent album. She toured all across North America, Europe, and Asia, performing her hits including “Work,” “Needed Me,” “Love On The Brain,” “Kiss It Better” and more. With 75 shows performed, Rihanna reportedly amassed $110 million.

We’ve seen her, alongside her boyfriend, A$AP Rocky, after giving birth to their baby boy, visiting the recording studio a few months back. According to Hits Daily Double, the release of new music and performing play a significant role in how her brands are affected.

For a hot minute, fans have been begging in anticipation for Rihanna to deliver some new tunes since this has been the most extended break she has taken from her career as a musical artist.

We all look forward to some official news from the queen herself!

Rihanna 'set to announce huge comeback tour and new music' after Super Bowl gig

Rihanna, 34, is set to embark on a huge tour - which will be her first since 2016. The singer is also gearing up to sing at the Super Bowl next Saturday

rihanna tour europe 2023

  • 23:22, 3 Feb 2023

Rihanna is making her comeback with a huge tour after she takes to the stage at the Super Bowl.

The Love on the Brain hit maker will headline the half-time show next Saturday marking the kick off of her new tour and plans to make new music, it has been claimed.

Insiders have said that she's already got her North American dates planned and will soon be focusing on European dates, which will also reportedly see her gig in the UK.

The singer is said to be "working overtime" as she prepares for the tour.

She is also said to be planning "mini residencies" in huge cities for fans to watch her perform.

A music insider told The Sun: “ Rihanna ’s Super Bowl halftime performance will be one of the best of all time.

“The list of songs that made the cut are pretty comprehensive and touch on every era of Rihanna including the new one she’s about to embark on.

“She has her North American dates ready to announce for 2023 after the Super Bowl and it will be a matter of time before European dates are announced for 2024.“

She will perform on February 12 when Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles.

A source also told People: “She is ready for the Super Bowl. She is rehearsing right now. She's very excited, ready, and focused.“

“She can't wait to kill it,“ they added.

This will be Rihanna's first tour since 2016 as she has been busy with her beauty and underwear businesses.

She also became a mum last year as she gave birth to a baby boy, whom she shares with boyfriend ASAP Rocky.

Rihanna recently shared a video of her son, who's name she is yet to reveal, in a car seat on TikTok.

The smiling baby gazed out of the window as he giggled.

She and ASAP Rocky, both 34, welcomed their son in May after announcing that they were expecting in January.

The couple have known each other for nearly 10 years, but their relationship turned romantic in 2020.

She shared a photo of the two of them together in New York wearing a pink top exposing her bump.

In a recent interview with Washington Post, Rihanna explained the reason why they haven't revealed the name of their son.

“We just didn’t get around to it yet really. We’ve just been living,“ she said.

“But I guess there’s a certain freedom that comes with a kind of just, like, getting it out there.”

After giving birth, Rihanna has been praised for proudly showing off her post-partum figure.

She wore a strapless sheer black dress which revealed her underwear and added a leather purse which had a chunky gold chain.

Rihanna to make tour announcement following Super Bowl performance?

Fans are hopeful for a “rihturn” following the star’s super bowl performance.

Kelsey Rivera

Rihanna’s fans are speculating that the star will soon be making a comeback following her Super Bowl performance on Sunday, February 12. While there hasn’t been any official confirmation from sources close to Rihanna, the string of comebacks from other big artists such as Beyoncé and Madonna is making fans confident for a “Rihturn.”

Possible 2023 American and 2024 European Tour

Two unidentified sources reportedly shared with the British newspaper Page Six that the artist is “gearing up to announce a tour,” and that “she has her North American dates ready to announce for 2023 after the Super Bowl, and it will be a matter of time before European dates are announced for 2024.”

The ‘Rihturn’ is a long time coming

Rihanna, who hasn’t toured since her 2016 ‘ANTI World Tour,’ has instead been focusing on building her Fenty Beauty and fashion brand and on raising her nine-month-old son with rapper A$AP Rocky. Her last performance on stage was during the 2018 Grammy Award Show held at New York’s Madison Square Garden alongside DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller.

While fans wait for an official confirmation of a new Rihanna tour, they can tune into Rihanna’s performance during Super Bowl LVII during the halftime show announced back in September .

Her decision to perform at the Super Bowl

Fans might have been surprised to hear Rihanna would be performing at the sports event when she turned down the NFL’s request to perform in 2019 .

In an interview with Vogue regarding the situation, she explained her reasoning.

“I couldn’t dare do that. For what? Who gains from that? Not my people,” she said. “I just couldn’t be a sellout. I couldn’t be an enabler. There’s things within that organization that I do not agree with at all, and I was not about to go and be of service to them in any way.”

She also cited NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick as influencing her decision to disassociate from the NFL’s Super Bowl show at the time.

Despite her earlier feelings on performing at the Super Bowl, the Barbadian artist seems to have changed her tune .

“I can’t believe I even said yes. It was one of those things that even when I announced it, I was like, ‘OK, I can’t take it back. Now it’s like, final,’” she said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight .

“If I’m going to leave my baby, I’m going to leave my baby for something special.” She also told the Associated Press .

Whatever her reasoning, fans will be in for a treat when they tune in on Sunday.

Rihanna Reportedly Embarking on Stadium Tour in 2023

The ‘anti’ artist will also be headlining the 2023 super bowl halftime show..

Rihanna 2023 Stadium Tour Reports super bowl halftime show performance

Rihanna is reportedly set to hit the road for a stadium tour in 2023.

According to HITS Daily Double , the engagement will take place after her Super Bowl Halftime Show performance on February 12, 2023. The ANTI artist supposedly returned to the recording studio shortly after the Halftime Show announcement was made, and that her performance “will be used to relaunch her music career” after she took a step back to focus on her Fenty Beauty empire. Rih is rumored to have an album’s worth of unfinished material that remained that way as she supposedly does not want to release underwhelming music that may negatively impact her brand. Her return to music, however, may “maintain her relevancy and help her brand continue to grow.”

The report looks at how we have responded to emerging and existing global challenges, with our ongoing, steadfast support for Ukraine being the highlight. We have provided over €88 billion in financial, humanitarian and military assistance, offered protection to over 4 million people fleeing from Ukraine to the EU and are ready to open accession negotiations.

It also looks to the Middle East and how we have responded to the drastic deterioration in the humanitarian situation of Palestinians, quadrupling humanitarian aid to over €100 million in the last year.

At home, the report emphasises the work done in staying the course on key EU priorities

  • continuing our economic recovery from the pandemic
  • boosting competitiveness and manufacturing capacity for the technologies and products required to meet our ambitious climate targets
  • putting in place the legal framework to cut emissions by 55 % by 2030 (a key milestone on the path to climate neutrality)
  • making progress in ending the EU’s reliance on Russian fossil fuels, thanks to the REPowerEU Plan, and in reforming the design of the EU’s electricity market, to protect consumers against price shocks
  • working on a first comprehensive law on Artificial Intelligence as part of Europe’s digital transition
  • strengthening social dialogue and progressing on new rules to improve working conditions of people working through digital market platforms
  • reaching an important milestone in overhauling our migration system.

The report is available in all official languages of the EU as a fully illustrated book and an online version which is available below.

Rihanna performs first full concert in years at billionaire Mukesh Ambani's party for son

rihanna tour europe 2023

Rihanna's return to performing live took place at an unexpected venue this weekend.

The Grammy-winning singer, 36, performed in Jamnagar, India, on Friday as part of the pre-wedding festivities for Anant Ambani, son of the richest man in Asia, Mukesh Ambani.

The three-day celebration was held four months ahead of Ambani's upcoming July wedding, and the almost 1,200-person guest list included Bill Gates , Mark Zuckerberg , and Ivanka Trump , according to The Associated Press . It's unknown what Rihanna was paid for her performance, but according to Forbes , Mukesh Ambani has an estimated net worth of $117 billion.

Videos posted on social media provided glimpses at Rihanna's show, which included renditions of her hits " Umbrella " and " Stay ." It was Rihanna's first full concert since 2016. She performed during the Super Bowl halftime show and the Academy Awards in 2023.

For her performance attire, the "Lift Me Up" songstress wore Dolce & Gabbana, donning an Alta Sartoria silk coat embroidered in gold thread and crystals, according to a press release from the Italian fashion house.

Speaking to fans in India, Rihanna said the show was "the best," according to a clip shared on TikTok . "I haven't done a real show in eight years," she noted.

But videos of Rihanna's show sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some fans suggesting she phoned in the performance. "Pls she don’t even remember what performing is like," one user wrote on X , formerly Twitter, adding, "She forgot she was a singer."

Another user posted , "Rent was due. She didn’t care."

In 2018, Beyoncé similarly  performed a private concert as part of pre-wedding celebrations for Isha Ambani, Mukesh Ambani's daughter.

Rihanna has not released a new studio album since 2016's "Anti." Since then, she has welcomed two children with A$AP Rocky , having revealed her second pregnancy at the 2023 Super Bowl. In a video shared on social media last month, A$AP Rocky teased that Rihanna is "working" on releasing new music.

Rihanna told "Good Morning America" in 2023 that it was a "challenge" to perform at the Super Bowl after being off the road for years. In December, she teased in an Entertainment Tonight interview that she would go back on tour when she releases new music.

"It's only fair that my fans get what they've been waiting on, which is new music," she said. "After that, let's just blow everything up."

Oil Market Report - March 2024

03 March

About this report

The IEA Oil Market Report (OMR) is one of the world's most authoritative and timely sources of data, forecasts and analysis on the global oil market – including detailed statistics and commentary on oil supply, demand, inventories, prices and refining activity, as well as oil trade for IEA and selected non-IEA countries.

  • Global oil demand is forecast to rise by a higher-than-expected 1.7 mb/d in 1Q24 on an improved outlook for the United States and increased bunkering. While 2024 growth has been revised up by 110 kb/d from last month’s Report, the pace of expansion is on track to slow from 2.3 mb/d in 2023 to 1.3 mb/d, as demand growth returns to its historical trend while efficiency gains and EVs reduce use.
  • World oil production is projected to fall by 870 kb/d in 1Q24 vs 4Q23 due to heavy weather-related shut-ins and new curbs from the OPEC+ bloc. From the second quarter, non-OPEC+ is set to dominate gains after some OPEC+ members announced they would extend extra voluntary cuts to support market stability. Global supply for 2024 is forecast to increase 800 kb/d to 102.9 mb/d, including a downward adjustment to OPEC+ output.
  • Refinery crude runs are forecast to rise from a February-low of 81.4 mb/d to a summer peak of 85.6 mb/d in August. For the year as a whole, throughputs are projected to increase by 1.2 mb/d to average 83.5 mb/d, driven by the Middle East, Africa and Asia. Refining margins improved through mid-February before receding, with the US Midcontinent and Gulf Coast as well as Europe leading the gains.
  • Global observed oil inventories surged by 47.1 mb in February. Offshore stocks dominated gains as seaborne exports reached an all-time high and shipping disruptions through the Red Sea tied up significant volumes of oil on water while onshore inventories declined. Global stocks plunged by 48.1 mb in January, with OECD industry stocks at a 16-month low.
  • ICE Brent futures rose by $2/bbl during February as ongoing Houthi shipping attacks in the Red Sea kept a firm bid under crude prices. With oil tankers taking the longer route around Africa more oil was kept on water, further tightening the Atlantic Basin market and sending crude’s forward price structure deeper into backwardation. At the time of writing, Brent was trading at $83/bbl.

Oil on water

Benchmark crude oil prices were range bound in early March, as the market had already priced in the announced extension of OPEC+ voluntary production cuts through 2Q24. North Sea Dated rose by $2.13/bbl to $84.66/bbl during February as continued tanker attacks in the Red Sea lengthened supply routes and global on-land oil inventories fell for a seventh consecutive month to reach their lowest level since at least 2016.

Global onshore oil stocks fell a further 38 mb last month, taking the draw down since July to 180 mb, according to preliminary data. Over the same period, oil on water surged. Trade dislocations from the rerouting of Russian barrels and more recently due to unrest in the Middle East, have boosted oil on water by 115 mb. In February alone, oil on water surged by 85 mb as repeated tanker attacks in the Red Sea diverted more cargoes around the Cape of Good Hope. At nearly 1.9 billion barrels as of end-February, oil on water hit its second highest level since the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Trade flow disruptions also boosted bunker fuel use. Longer shipping routes and faster vessel speeds saw Singapore bunkering reach all-time highs. That, along with surging US ethane demand for its petrochemical sector underpins a slight upward revision to our global oil demand expectations for this year by 110 kb/d compared with last month’s Report. World oil demand growth is now forecast at 1.3 mb/d in 2024, down sharply from last year’s 2.3 mb/d expansion.

The slowdown in growth, already apparent in recent data, means that oil consumption reverts towards its historical trend after several years of volatility from the post-pandemic rebound. A weaker economic outlook further tempers oil use, as do efficiency improvements and surging electric vehicle sales. Growth will continue to be heavily skewed towards non-OECD countries, even as China’s dominance gradually fades. The latter’s oil demand growth slows from 1.7 mb/d in 2023 to 620 kb/d in 2024, or from roughly three-quarters to half of the global total, under the gathering weight of a challenging economic environment and slower expansion in its petrochemical sector.

As in 2023, non-OPEC+ oil supply growth will eclipse the oil demand expansion by some margin. Led by the United States, non-OPEC+ production is forecast to rise by 1.6 mb/d in 2024 compared to 2.4 mb/d last year when global oil output climbed by 2 mb/d to 102 mb/d. Substantial gains will also come from Guyana, Brazil and Canada, all forecast to pump at record-highs this year. Together, the non-OPEC+ Americas quartet is set to add 1.3 mb/d of new oil production in 2024.

Iran, which last year ranked as the world’s second largest source of supply growth after the United States, is expected to increase production by a further 280 kb/d this year. Output policy for the remainder of the OPEC+ bloc will be revisited when ministers meet in Vienna on 1 June to review market conditions. In this Report, we are now holding OPEC+ voluntary cuts in place through 2024 – unwinding them only when such a move is confirmed by the producer alliance (see OPEC+ cuts extended). On that basis, our balance for the year shifts from a surplus to a slight deficit, but oil tanks may get some relief as the massive volumes of oil on water reach their final destination.

1. Includes extra voluntary curbs where announced. 2. Capacity levels can be reached within 90 days and sustained for an extended period. 3. Excludes shut in Iranian, Russian crude. 4. Angola left OPEC effective 1 Jan 2024. 5. Iran, Libya, Venezuela exempt from cuts. 6. Mexico excluded from OPEC+ compliance. 7. Bahrain, Brunei, Malaysia, Sudan and South Sudan.
