Welcome to TCZ Tourism Council of Zambia
Tcz membership.
Tourism Council of Zambia (TCZ) is private sector membership driven intermediary organisation established under the Registrar of Societies Act of the Laws of Zambia. TCZ was established in 1997.
TCZ has three types of memberships namely the corporate membership, the association membership and voluntary membership.
Membership to the TCZ is voluntary and enhances policy advocacy as it provides a single voice for the private sector in the tourism sector.

Mandate and Objectives of TCZ
Tourism Council of Zambia (TCZ) is a not-for-profit private sector membership-driven organisation with a total membership of thirteen (13) Tourism Enterprise Associations that represent over 400 enterprises ranging from small, medium to large enterprises in the tourism sector. These enterprises are mainly small guest houses, lodges, small hotels, restaurants and bars, catering services, car hire services, camping, tour operators, large hotels, etc. TCZ’s current operational objectives are:
a) To provide a forum for government's interaction...
B) providing a clear single voice..., c) to encourage the advancement of..., d) to uphold business standards..., e) to create public awareness of..., f) to collect and circulate..., g) to provide the private sector..., h) to provide business..., i) to provide favourable tourism....
As an apex body for all tourism enterprises and associations in Zambia, TCZ's main activities are anchored on its mandate which is to drive the growth of the tourism industry by influencing government policy towards creating an enabling business environment. TCZ achieves these objectives through its regular policy dialogue with government on emerging, legislative and regulatory issues of public policy.
The above objectives are carried out through providing a forum for discussion and a structure for action, leadership and coordination, communication channels and networking as an integral part of the new collaborative approach in sectoral economic planning and implementation by the Zambian government.
In this regard, TCZ is represented on the Sector Advisory Group of the tourism, environment and natural resources sector of government.

- Benefits from capacity building of member enterprises’ staff training courses and involvement with government and other bodies. This is aimed at the upgrading and extension of training skills acquisition facilities.
- Public relations activities to promote awareness of the industry and therefore the possibility to expand business opportunities.
- Annual General Congress or Stakeholders' Conference to bring industry operations together.
- TCZ member’s certificate provided for display. This is issued to only members and indicates recommended establishments.
- Membership cards to assist identification of members, which also signifies a commitment to common interest and values, the promotion of professionalism and of compliance to TCZ’s Code of Conduct.
- Membership certificates for identification and information sharing purposes. This membership certificate will be used during Grading and Classification to provide ‘at a glance’ identification of members.
- The card also helps facilitate and discounts for accommodation at member hotels through the Hotel Catering Association of Zambia (HCAZ).
- Rebates on air tickets for marketing travel outside the country on airlines affiliated to TCZ.
- Networking activities of B2B, business development services and access to online web listing, specialised training, market access, business statistics and market information on request.
- Regular interface with government officials such as monthly breakfast meetings with ministries offering you an opportunity to submit business concerns to public authorities.
- Intermediation and representation at the Tourism Enterprise Licensing Committee, etc.
- TCZ is represented on various committees and statutory boards of government institutions.
