Avatar Announce Spring 2024 US Tour

The Swedish metal act will hit 11 cities in May

Avatar have announced a Spring 2024 US tour with support from Oxymorrons and Conquer Divide.

The May trek will see the Swedish band bringing its “Great Metal Circus” tour stateside. The outing kicks off on May 8th in Indianapolis and culminates with three festival appearances: Sonic Temple (May 17th in Columbus, Ohio); Pointfest (May 18th in St. Louis); and Milwaukee Metal Fest (May 19th in Milwaukee).

A Live Nation ticket pre-sale for Avatar’s headlining dates begins Wednesday (February 14th) at 10 a.m. local time using the code ENERGY . General ticket sales start Friday (February 16th) at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster . Fans can also look for deals or get tickets to sold-out dates via StubHub , where your purchase is 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s Fan Protect program.

Surprised my daughter with tickets to their show, 5 hours away in Atlanta, Georgia @Buckhead Theatre, September 13, 2021. We live in North Florida.

Sadly I went to jail last year, and it was very hard on her. No worries, my civil rights were violated, we are gonna be just fine, and famous when this shit breaks.

Anyway, when I got out of jail, I found Feathers & Flesh Book in Europe and ordered it for her with a signed poster, and some trading cards came with it they sent as a bonus.

She thought we were driving like 2 hours away, had no idea where ATL was. They were amazing, as were they're supporting bands also. Had we gotten there a few minutes earlier, we could of gotten right up next to the stage. I was going to ask Johannes to sign her book.

When we get paid off, I promised her a show in Sweden, and I am that mom that always sticks to a pinky promise. The girl got everything she wanted it was her 15th birthday, it was her first concert in person, her favorite band ever, and all the merch she wanted. Shirt, beenie, and patches.

You guys ever come to north Florida before we move, I'll be band mom. I got some cool things for all of you! For helping my girl without even knowing it! Thank you, and can't wait to see you again !

How can you write a review for another brilliant performance? I saw Avatar when they were through Edmonton on their first Canadian show ever as an opening act. They promised, only seven short months ago, that they would return... And were back as a headlining act! First off, the opening performers: '68 was a great, high energy, and talented duo. Dance With the Dead was an entertaining and unique mix of electronic and hard metal instrumental set, loved it! Devin Townsend has always been, and continues to be, one of our country's own most talented musicians. And now to Avatar Country, the King, and all of us as Citizens. I absolutely LOVE this band. Brilliant stage presence, all of them are extremely talented performers and musicians, and they are genuine and true to their sound. I have witnessed them evolve their music and style over the years and NEVER disappoint. Thank you to Avatar for keeping your promise of returning to Edmonton so soon and building the relationship with your Canadian Citizens of Avatar Country. We can't wait to have you back and in a larger venue!! Love you guys!

Heavy metal fans everywhere, unite for Avatar! Their sound is ferocious, refined, and intense – in a good way! The way metal should be! Think Marilyn Manson!

The metal band yielded the audience on a rollercoaster of frightening, nightmarish enjoyment. Avatar’s front man, Johannes Eckerstrom astonished us with thrilling vocals of extreme roars and growls.

“What I Don’t Know” and “Tsar Bomba” excite the audience with intense enthusiasm. The harsh melodies, insane guitar riffs and loud beats will want you screaming for more.

Think loud because this is what they are. The band from Sweden do not hold back, and why should they, they are amazing! They’ll leave you feeling exhilarated and full of emotion, and of course full of love for the band.

If seeing a heavy metal band is on your bucket list then let Avatar be the band to tick it off. Even if you’ve never seen a metal band or are massively into this genre of music it’s an experience like no other and I highly recommend it. Catch them next in Nottingham!

After seeing Avatar support Halestorm last year,we were impatient to see them on their first headlining tour. They didn't disappoint. Melodic,creative,heavy riffs that win any crowd over. Mostly upbeat tracks,but interspersed are songs the remind you this is a death metal band. Johannes vocal range is phenomenal,and all band members are at the top of their game.

After this year's sell out show,I would imagine tickets will be hot property next time. I can't recommend this band enough live as the theatrics are up there with the greatest live acts. Go and see them!

AVATAR as always tore it up and brought down the roof at Terminal 5 stealing the show!

This go around in NYC however they were with shortened set list due to being an opener instead of what they do best headlining. Nonetheless an awesome time was had and I look foreword to seeing them again soon.

Absolutely brilliant, best gig I’ve been to for a long time. Theatrical, entertaining, passionate, engaging and great light show. The band consists of very talented musicians. An absolute joy to watch and experience the audience’s passion for this great band. Second time I’ve seen live would go again without hesitation.

As alway five star show. I Love the music, energy and preformance Avatar brings live. Definitly worth the 8 hour drive! I rather see them headlining though as they have so many great songs. Always a crowd pleaser and never a let down. Bought tickets for the upcoming shows in the new year and will miss them till than.

The best performance I've seen since alice cooper in the 80 s. I went to salt lake utah then grand junction co then Vegas. Each one was better and better. This band truly enjoys what they do. And they do it to the top level. Truly bad ass!! Already booked September shows tix and hotel.

Saw them at Rockville this year. Was impressed by their stage show. Saw them last nite in Montgomery Alabama. Small venue but it didnt matter to Avatar. They brought a bunch of energy and were amazing. If you get a chance to see them.....go do it. You won't be disappointed.

THIS SHOW AS A WHOLE KICKED ASS... BOTH SINGERS FROM AVATAR AND LIGHT THE TORCH SANG SOME SONGS FOR TRIVIUM WHICH WAS REALLY COOL.....AVATAR WAS BAD ASS CAN'T WAIT TILL THEY RETURN TO THE BAY AREA....THANKS SONG KICK FOR THE HEADS UP ON THE SHOW

Avatar Announce 2023 US Tour with Veil of Maya and Orbit Culture

Swedish metallers Avatar have mapped out a Spring 2023 US tour, featuring support from Veil of Maya and Orbit Culture.

The tour will follow the release of Avatar’s upcoming ninth album, Dance Devil Dance , which arrives on February 17th. The outing begins April 28th in Omaha, Nebraska, and runs through a May 28th show in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania.

Tickets for the tour go on sale to the general public on Friday (January 27th) via Ticketmaster , with a pre-sale beginning Wednesday (January 25th) using the code SOUND . Fans can also pick up tickets via StubHub .

"Dance Devil Dance" was recorded in the Swedish wilderness, far away from all the perceived glamor of the big city and modern studios. Jay Ruston ( ANTHRAX , MR. He first worked with AVATAR when he mixed "Hail The Apocalypse" , a role he reprised on "Feathers & Flesh" before taking the wheel as producer on "Avatar Country" and "Hunter Gatherer" .

Last August, Eckerström told TotalRock about AVATAR 's latest LP: "My best thing to liken it to is [ JUDAS PRIEST 's] 'British Steel' in the sense of that… JUDAS PRIEST were always great, and before 'British Steel' you had 'Killing Machine' , you had 'Sad Wings Of Destiny' and all this, but they were a great heavy metal band, a great rock and roll band, a great prog band at times and kind of eclectic. And then with 'British Steel' I find they really got laser focused, cut off the fat. And we're focused on what we feel right now metal needs — this very pompous but yet…

"Honestly, I feel like we have to save heavy metal," he continued. "Because either people are lost in the past… They did it better than we will ever do what they do. Don't do that. What's next? What's next for us? And do that without disappearing up your own asses completely.

"When people end up doing metal that is best enjoyed while sitting down and shutting up, you miss the point," Johannes added. "Metal is the music that you move to — in the pit, banging your head, dancing around, whatever, lifting weights, drinking too much, getting pregnant, impregnating someone, doing things. It's music to move with. You have drums in the band; why would you have drums if you don't move?

"We look a lot to the masters — that is wisdom from MOTÖRHEAD , from JUDAS PRIEST , from a lot of things — but then just… yeah, that, but not that . They did that. We're now and what's next with that. Where can we try to help bring it? And that is this album."

AVATAR enjoyed quite a productive summer last year, traipsing North America on a successful headline tour. They next embarked on some of the biggest shows of the career — a trek with IRON MAIDEN , supporting the band in stadiums in Brazil. AVATAR also played arenas supporting SABATON . They secured slots at major festivals globally — Inkcarceration , Summer Breeze and Bloodstock Open Air , among others.

Swedish metal band Avatar have revealed 2021 U.S. tour dates. Their 'Going Hunting' headlining run is in support of their latest release and eight studio album Hunter Gatherer . It will be the first time the group performs the 2020 record to a live audience. The tour is set to kick off September 1 in Albany, New York, and wrap up on October 18 in Seattle, Washington.

Magic Sword and Tallah will join Avatar on the road as support. Tickets go on sale this Friday, June 11, at 10AM local. Visit the band's official website for more details and ticket info.

The heavy metal ‘n’ roll, dark, madcap visionaries collectively known as AVATAR — vocalist Johannes Eckerström (vocals), guitarists Jonas Jarlsby and Tim Öhrström , bassist Henrik Sandelin , and drummer John Alfredsson — will embark on the “Chimp Mosh Pit Tour” in September. AVATAR ‘s ninth album, “Dance Devil Dance” , was released in February via Black Waltz Records , distributed by Thirty Tigers . The LP was recorded in the Swedish wilderness, far away from all the perceived glamor of the big city and modern studios. Jay Ruston ( ANTHRAX , MR. BUNGLE , CROBOT , STONE SOUR , AMON AMARTH , URIAH HEEP ) returned as producer. He first worked with AVATAR when he mixed “Hail The Apocalypse” , a role he reprised on “Feathers & Flesh” before taking the wheel as producer on “Avatar Country” and “Hunter Gatherer” .

Avatar Announce 2024 Tour Dates

The band will also be performing at several festivals this spring

Avatar have announced a string of spring tour dates. The group will hit the road in the United States starting on May 8 at the Egyptian Room in Indianapolis, Indiana. The brief run is capped off with a performance at Milwaukee Metal Fest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on May 19. The group will also be appearing at Sonic Temple in Columbus, Ohio and Pointiest in St. Louis, Missouri. Check out the full tour itinerary below.

AVATAR announce U.S. tour with VEIL OF MAYA and ORBIT CULTURE

Avatar 's highly anticipated ninth album, Dance Devil Dance , is almost upon us, and of course, the theatrical Swedish metal troupe will be supporting it with a U.S. tour. Said trek was announced today (January 24th), and it'll see Johannes Eckerström and Co. joined by openers Veils of Maya and Orbit Culture.

The tour is set to kick off April 28th in Omaha, Nebraska, and wrap up a month later in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Tickets will go on sale Friday, January 27th, at AvatarMetal.com . See the full itinerary below.

On Saturday night, Kiss closed out the final performance of their “The End of the Road” farewell tour at New York City’s famed Madison Square Garden.

But as dedicated fans surely know — they were never going to call it quits. Not really.

During their encore, the band’s current lineup — founders Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons as well as guitarist Tommy Thayer and drummer Eric Singer — left the stage to reveal digital avatars of themselves. After the transformation, the virtual Kiss launched into a performance of “God Gave Rock and Roll to You.”

The cutting-edge technology was used to tease a new chapter of the rock band: after 50 years of Kiss , the band is now interested in a kind of digital immortality.

The avatars were created by George Lucas’ special-effects company, Industrial Light & Magic, in partnership with Pophouse Entertainment Group, the latter of which was co-founded by ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus. The two companies recently teamed up for the “ABBA Voyage” show in London, in which fans could attend a full concert by the Swedish band — as performed by their digital avatars.

Per Sundin, CEO of Pophouse Entertainment, says this new technology allows Kiss to continue their legacy for “eternity.” He says the band wasn’t on stage during virtual performance because “that’s the key thing,” of the future-seeking technology. “Kiss could have a concert in three cities in the same night across three different continents. That’s what you could do with this.”

In order to create their digital avatars, who are depicted as a kind of superhero version of the band, Kiss performed in motion capture suits.

Experimentation with this kind of technology has become increasingly common in certain sections of the music industry. In October K-pop star Mark Tuan partnered with Soul Machines to create an autonomously automated “digital twin” called “Digital Mark.” In doing so, Tuan became the first celebrity to attach their likeness to OpenAI’s GPT integration, artificial intelligence technology that allows fans to engage in one-on-one conversations with Tuan’s avatar.

Aespa, the K-pop girl group, frequently perform alongside their digital avatars — the quartet is meant to be viewed as an octet with digital twins. Another girl group, Eternity, is made up entirely of virtual characters — no humans necessary.

“What we’ve accomplished has been amazing, but it’s not enough. The band deserves to live on because the band is bigger than we are,” Kiss frontman Paul Stanley said in a roundtable interview. “It’s exciting for us to go the next step and see Kiss immortalized.”

“We can be forever young and forever iconic by taking us to places we’ve never dreamed of before,” Kiss bassist Gene Simmons added. “The technology is going to make Paul jump higher than he’s ever done before.”

And for those who couldn’t make the Madison Square Garden show — stay tuned, because a Kiss avatar concert may very well be on the way.
