OneRepublic is an American pop-rock band originally from Colorado Springs, Colorado (US). It formed in 2002 and has been active ever since. Originally achieving commercial success through MySpace, founding members Ryan Tedder and Zach Filkins formed the band and released its music online unsigned.
In 2003, OneRepublic traveled west and played shows around the Los Angeles, U.S., area.
OneRepublic added pianist Drew Brown, bassist/cellist Brent Kutzle, and drummer Eddie Fisher to the lineup while playing its initial live shows. After being approached by many labels, the band signed with Velvet Hammer (an imprint of Columbia records), whose roster now includes the likes of Coheed and Cambria, Deftones, and System of a Down.
Unlike other bands under the Velvet Hammer label, OneRepublic’s sound has seen more mainstream than alternative success. With collaborations with producers like Timbaland on what is arguably its biggest hit to date, “Apologize,” remixed and recorded in 2006 and featured on Timbaland’s album Shock Value, OneRepublic has safely secured itself quite a few popular rock music fans. The band was also dropped from Columbia’s label around this time and signed to Timbaland’s Mosley Music Group.
“Apologize” appeared again in 2007, this time in its original form on OneRepublic’s debut album, Dreaming Out Loud. The remixed version of the song had record radio plays in North America (it was played 10,394 times in just one week) and this play score was only beaten by the single “Bleeding Love” by Leona Lewis (which, was also co-written by OneRepublic frontman, Ryan Tedder). The other hit single from its platinum debut album is “Stop and Stare,” which saw almost equal success as the previous single.
OneRepublic’s second album, Waking Up, was released in 2009 and reached the top 10 on Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. Singles from this album included “All the Right Moves,” “Marchin On,” and “Good Life.”
In March of 2013, OneRepublic released Native, its third studio album and an official end to a hiatus that had lasted for three and a half years. Native hit number four on the Billboard 200 upon its debut, marking the band’s first time cracking the top 10 in the U.S. First-week sales exceeded 60,000, the best since Dreaming Out Loud.
The lead single from Native was “Feel Again.” Released on August 27, 2012, it climbed to number 36 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and later went platinum. The next single, “If I Lose Myself,” has been certified gold in both Australia and Italy. The next single, “Counting Stars,” exceeded all expectations by becoming the band’s biggest hit yet — it reached the top five in 14 countries and even hit number one in the UK and number two in the U.S. The accompanying music video has over 3.5 billion views on YouTube.
The tours after Native took OneRepublic across Europe, Oceania, North America, and Asia and featured co-headlining duties with acts like American Authors, Sara Bareilles, and The Script. 169 shows later, the band completed its biggest tour yet.
November 2014 saw photos from the band on Twitter with the caption “Hotel recording, Poland. Album 4.” Half a year later, Tedder announced that OneRepublic was heading in a new artistic direction. Since the band values innovation and never repeats the same sound twice, the new album would prove to be yet another surprise for fans.
The group announced in September 2015 that the next album would come early the next year. The wait was long — it wasn’t until May 12 that a new single called “Wherever I Go” dropped. The next single, “Kids,” came out on August 12, and the album called Oh My My came out October 7, 2016. Oh My My struck a chord with listeners, hitting number three on the U.S. Billboard 200 and becoming the highest-charting album in the band’s career to date.
Between 2017 and 2019, OneRepublic shifted its strategy in song releases. Lead singer Ryan Tedder wrote a candid post to fans, saying he was dealing with “crippling anxiety” and illness due to constant touring, promoting, and recording. He said the band would be releasing new music in the form of singles as opposed to traditional albums. In 2017, it released singles including “Born to Race,” “Rich Love,” “Truth to Power,” and “No Vacancy.”
It seemed that the love for music helped Tedder overcome his struggles — in September 2017, he announced the band had begun working on a fifth album. The band also featured on the song “Stranger Things” by Kygo, which came out in 2017. The next year, it opened for the Zac Brown Band on tour.
Its 2018 singles included “Start Again” (featuring Logic), “Connection,” and a cover of “White Christmas.” The lead single from the fifth album arrived on May 17, 2019 and was entitled “Rescue Me.” The subsequent singles, “Wanted” and “Somebody to Love,” preceded the announcement that the new album would be called Human and would come out in spring of 2020. After multiple delays, Human did finally come out in August of 2021.
Currently, the world awaits OneRepublic’s sixth studio album, which the band has teased with songs “Sunshine” and “West Coast.” Its singles were featured in Top Gun: Maverick and other films, building anticipation for what is sure to be a phenomenal release.
The band’s calendar currently includes concerts across multiple continents. Catch OneRepublic on tour to see one of the most exciting acts in rock today.
Live reviews
One Republic is such a great band! At Stadthalle here in Vienna, Ryan Tedder was the living proof that a tight touring schedule is BAD FOR YOU. He was clearly nursing a bad cold and spent the entire concert croaking his way through each song, running out of breath. Hitting the right notes was an exercise in semi-happy accidents and the more frustrated he got, the worse things were. From the beginning it was clear that the entire band would rather be anywhere else than on stage. Uninspired, tired and - almost in an effort to convince themselves - Ryan regurgitated the touring-phrases "Vienna - we love you!" and "Vienna is one of our top-five favourite places to play!" (replace "Vienna" with a city of your choice) with little conviction. They tried. Oh, they tried, but as the show went on, I only felt sorry for them, wishing them a long holiday in the Bahamas. Heavy touring is not for this band. If you wish to see them, make sure to catch them early on and preferably only after they have had at least a full week with no appearances anywhere else. And Ryan - please get some singing lessons to help you protect your voice in these conditions. There are techniques, you know. Singing should not sound laboured. 15 November 2014 you went far beyond laboured with your singing. "It's a wonderful world"? Not for a voice that is crying out for a rest.

One Republic was literally incredible - I was lucky enough to be right at the front, and it was so exhilarating. They started with a white sheet in front of the stage so no one could see what was going on, and when they started, all the lights went out except for one spotlight which lit up the silhouette of Ryan - who sang Light It Up a capella, until he reached the chorus when the music kicked in, the sheet dropped and all the lights came on, it was incredible.
You don't have to be massive fan to enjoy yourself, you'll find you know the words to at least a few of their songs, like Apologise, Good Life and Counting Stars. They cover all sorts, from the old ones everyone knows to the new ones which are just incredible, as well as a couple of really good covers which are often an improvised one off. If you are a fan of Imagine Dragons, Coldplay or anyone else similar then you will enjoy yourself at One Republic immensely. Not only do they put on an incredible show, with light up pianos, projector screens showing various clips, lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling, tonnes of confetti and incredible live music, you can't take your eyes of Ryan because his stage presence and talent is immense. Can't recommend these enough - no matter how much or how little you like them beforehand, you will come away a fan, guaranteed.
It's time to re-evaluate your priorities. Seeing OneRepublic live in concert should be at the top of your bucket list!
Ryan Tedder and his band are well known for winning over music listeners through the radio waves, but I promise seeing them in concert is an exciting experience you'll have to see to believe. Known for talkable lyrics, and incredible musical organization, OneRepublic will keep you dancing, singing, and moving for years after their memorable concerts.
Ryan likes to throw in some acoustic sets, and I often find that each concert has a variety of popular hits arranged for an acoustic gathering. He also likes to treat his audiences to covers because, as he recently put it, "I like to sing lyrics that I wished I wrote myself." You'll get to hear the story behind the music and be treated to a wide range of stunning vocals.
See OneRepublic live and soon you'll be counting stars!
OneRepublic is a great band and they showed this with a steady stream of their hits. Faves of the night included 'What You Wanted' and 'Secrets'. The "coffee shop" / small-band segment was really interesting and highlighted the tight playing of the group. Lead singer Ryan Tedder engaged the audience continually and made many references to the city and the Calgary Flames (hockey team) which, predictably, got the crowd excited. The covers were excellent and fun - 'Apologize' / 'Stay With Me' (Sam Smith); 'Budapest' (George Ezra); and, 'What a Wonderful World' (Louis Armstrong). An awesome night.
Also - I had heard that 'Kongos' had been opening for OneRepublic earlier in the tour and was totally bummed they weren't opening here but 'Lights' was really good. She really got the crowd going and has a great energy.
OneRepublic won my heart with some silly commentary. ("This is our second show of the tour. So when - not if, when - something goes wrong, please forgive us." "If you know the words, sing them. Because I will probably forget them." "I promised I'd never sing these songs I wrote because they weren't for OneRepublic. But it's been ten years, and I don't care about being cool, so let's do it. Cool is relative.") I was also especially happy to hear their cover of James Arthur's "Say You Won't Let Go" when James couldn't perform due to sickness. Overall, OneRepublic really related to me an individual level rather than as an all-star mega-huge performing band, and I appreciated that authenticity and silliness.
It was a very nice concert, but nothing more special than the album songs,,,, I had expected some more life entertainment, more show and disappointing was the performance of " if love runs out ". A lot of people left already before this song... I had the pleasure, I thought it would be a pleasure, to enter through VIP Premium, car near tot the Burg and drinks and food.. but to my disappointment, all te places to see the boys were occupied, and it was quit a distance to see them.. so I had to walk down, which was not a pleasure. Also the public was very quit and not interacting with the group.
So very reserved... I had expect more life! The performance was good, maybe to good to be a life concert...
OneRepublic, 11 November, Tallinn.
People were waiting and waiting after the warm-up band The Kongos perfomed. And 1R started to sing behind a huge sheet. Only their shadows were seen. And then boom and then the sheet came down and I just felt my heart cheer up. When the beat of "What you wanted" started, my whole body electrified. The way Ryan plays the piano and takes the high notes is just unbelievable. They had put some "estonish" things in the background and it was so heart warming. They even sang the song "Good life" with the word Estonia in there. It was a great show! I sang my heart out and it was just really spectacular.
Loved them so much! ♥
Oh my gosh! I waited 5 years to see OneRepublic live and wow was it worth the wait! These guys are absolutely amazing and sound even better live than they do on their CDs (if that’s even possible)! Ryan puts on such an amazing performance and whilst you are stood there at the end completely out of breath, with a sore throat and sweating, he’s still bouncing around on stage and giving it his all. The energy Ryan brings to the stage is unreal- he’s dancing to every song and still singing perfectly. These guys put on one of the best performances I’ve ever seen so if you are going to see anyone live in concert, make it these guys!!
We are devout fans of OneRepublic for years now. This was our 6th concert following them from California, to CO, NY, and OK. We paid enormous prices to be able to sit in the front row. OneRepublic never disappoints, however, compared to their other concerts, we were saddened that there were no encores, almost felt their performance was "phoned in". Seems like they are becoming more and more detached from their fans, not very interactive anymore. Almost robotic. In light of his recent struggles, it seems they can't shake the "burn out" from so much touring.
Praying that changes and doesn't leave a bad stain on their career.
Onerepublic gave an AMAZING concert. There are very few artists who can do what they did. Onerepublic took many of their own songs, played them in a completely different way ("Come Home" on guitar, "Good Life" as an edm-ish version), and they still sounded incredible, and the room full of singing fans definitely approved. Nearly every person there was on their feet for the entire concert- it was that energetic. Even some odd number of days later I still can't stop talking about this concert and how talented Onerepublic is. I already knew they were a great band but this really comfirmed that.

“I think one or two of my songs have made the album,” he said in an interview with Good Morning America . “From what I’ve been told, and the stuff that I did with them, I can just say is very true to their sound. At the end of the day, though, I’m trying to write a hit. Trying to write the biggest, best song I can possible.”

DRAMA Announce 2024 Australian Tour Dates

OneRepublic’s most recent single ‘I Ain’t Worried’ arrived in May, appearing on the soundtrack for Top Gun: Maverick . It marked the second original song from OneRepublic this year, following on from the release of ‘West Coast’ in February.
Last week, the band’s frontman Ryan Tedder teased a collaboration with BLACKPINK , revealing that he’s worked on their forthcoming album.
“I think one or two of my songs have made the album,” he said in an interview with Good Morning America. “From what I’ve been told, and the stuff that I did with them, I can just say is very true to their sound.”
“At the end of the day, though, I’m trying to write a hit. Trying to write the biggest, best song I can possible.”

Welcome to the Race Ready for the 2024 Australian F1 Grand Prix, taking place in Melbourne from 22-24 March.
We’re here to ensure you have all the information available at your fingertips to enable you to get the most out of your live motorsport experience. The Australian Grand Prix has sold out for 2024 – sign up to receive an alert when we go on sale for 2025.
Important: If you bought your Australian Grand Prix tickets through Motorsport Tickets , remember to accept your mobile ticket transfers. Instructions on how to do so have been emailed to you. You will not be allowed entry into the circuit, and box office staff at Albert Park won’t be able to assist you, if this has not been done beforehand so don’t leave it until the last minute. Please get in touch with our customer service team as soon as possible if you are experiencing issues accepting your mobile tickets.
Australian F1 Grand Prix weekend schedule
The 2024 race at Albert Park will mark 28 editions of the Australian F1 Grand Prix. One of the most popular races of the year, Australia was the first Grand Prix on the 2024 Formula 1 calendar to sell out.
Here’s the weekend schedule of the 2024 Australian Grand Prix:
THURSDAY 21 MARCH
Friday 22 march, saturday 23 march, sunday 24 march, support races at the australian f1 grand prix.
The Australian Grand Prix will see both Formula 2 and Formula 3 races take place on Sunday 24 March ahead of the Grand Prix. There will also be Sprint races held in both series on Saturday.
As if that wasn’t enough on-track action, no less than four Supercar Championship races will be held over the weekend at Albert Park, as well as three Porsche Carrera Cup races.
See times in the timetable above.
As well as support races there will be special events and features throughout the fan zone to keep the whole family entertained.
Each night there will also be concerts featuring world famous artists such as Jet and Empire of the Sun . See full music line-up here .
The full entertainment schedule is available on the Australian Grand Prix website .
Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit Map
Use our handy track map to plan your trip as best you can. You can download the image or take a screenshot to have it to hand during the Grand Prix weekend.
Where is the best place to sit at the Australian F1 Grand Prix?
It is essential to have your priorities in order when planning your trip to a Formula 1 Grand Prix . Use the map above to help you in your planning. The Australian Grand Prix is not one of the cheapest Formula 1 races to attend. Budget restrictions will come into play for many attending the race in Melbourne.
The best seats in the house at the Australian Grand Prix are arguably in the Brabham and the Jones Grandstands. These two house the most in-demand tickets at the Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit. With good views of the first turns, these seats also offer good access to toilets, food and drink stands as well as souvenir shops.
One of the cheapest options at the Australian Grand Prix is the Waite Grandstand. This stand is named after the winner of the first ever Australian Grand Prix back in 1928, Adelaide-born Arthur Waite. These seats offer views of the cars at blistering top speeds as they head into turns 9 and 10. Giant screens will keep you up to date on the rest of the race and you can also access the General Admission areas – an option that is cheaper still.
For more detailed information on where to sit for the Grand Prix at Albert Park, check out our Australian Grand Prix Grandstand Guide .
Getting to the Australian F1 Grand Prix track
Getting to Australia for international racegoers will usually require an entire day’s travel. Travellers from Europe will lose around 10 hours, and from the United State 13-15 hours. Therefore it is worth factoring in potential jet lag into the trip. We advise leaving plenty of time between the race days and travel days in order ensure maximum recuperation and enjoyment of the event.
There are no direct flights from Europe to Melbourne. There are now some direct flights to Australia from London and Rome. However, these only go so far as Perth, where passengers need to take an internal flight to Melbourne (around 3h 30m).
Los Angeles and Honolulu are the only two US cities with direct flights to Melbourne. From other US cities and Vancouver (Canada), Sydney is the main hub and then travellers should take another short flight to Melbourne.
You could also take the train to Melbourne from Sydney . The journey takes around 12 hours and both day and overnight services are available. Prices start from 79 AUD. The sleeper option prices start from 235 AUD. There is also a bus service, which links the two cities in 10 hours and prices start from just 60 AUD – book with Firefly here .
Once you are in Melbourne, depending one where your hotel is, you may be able to walk to the circuit on race days. One of the main hotel districts is just north of Albert Park and for many will be easily within walking distance. What better way to enjoy the south Australian sun in one of the world’s most beautiful cities?
Public Transport in Melbourne
Public transport in Melbourne is very efficient and lines linking the city centre to the circuit are available for free on Formula 1 race weekends . The most popular way of reaching the track from Melbourne city centre is the tram service – also free!
Bear in mind that the services will be extremely busy and we would recommend walking where possible. Driving to the circuit is not recommended.
The main train station in Melbourne city centre is Flinders Street which links the circuit at Albert Park.
Important : To use public transport in Melbourne, you must have a myki card and swipe it on each trip you take.
Melbourne Grand Prix Circuit Track Stats
Where to stay at the australian f1 grand prix.
One of the the biggest attractions of the Australian Grand Prix is that the race is held in the centre of one of the world’s most popular cities. Melbourne is situated on the warm southern coast of Australia, attracting over 40 million visitors each year.
Hosting a Formula 1 Grand Prix in a city of over five million people means that accommodation is not hard to come by. There is a very high density of hotels in South Melbourne which sits a walkable distance to the north of the circuit.
Here are three examples of hotels close to the Albert Park Circuit, ranging from budget to luxury options:
- Travelodge Hotel Melbourne Docklands
- Waterfront Melbourne Apartments
- United Places Hotel Botanic Gardens

Australia’s three biennials – Biennale of Sydney, Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art, and newcomer PHOTO International Festival of Photography, Melbourne – have joined forces to create the country’s first Art Grand Tour across Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide, teaming up with major art events to collectively present the work of over 400 artists.

The Art Grand Tour is a build-your-own art adventure that will see locals and visitors moving between the three cities. It kicked off at the end of February 2024, with the Melbourne Art Fair presenting solo shows and artist commissions from 60 of the region’s leading galleries and Indigenous art centres, and is followed by PHOTO 2024 International Festival of Photography on 1 March.
Dedicated to contemporary practice, the photography biennial is marking its third edition. Addressing the theme The Future Is Shaped by Those Who Can See It , PHOTO 2024 features a trail of 100 free exhibitions and large-scale outdoor installations across Melbourne with artists including Ryan McGinley, Cao Fei , Omar Victor Diop, Carmen Winant and Edward Burtynsky . This year, PHOTO also celebrates three icons, Nan Goldin , Malick Sidibé and Rennie Ellis.

In Melbourne, the Art Grand Tour incorporated new commissions and works by 120 artists for NGV Triennial (opened in December and running until 7 April 2024) – with Yoko Ono , Elmgreen & Dragset and Tracey Emin amongst others – as well as MPavilion 10 by Pritzker Prize-winning architect Tadao Ando , an architectural commission of concrete minimalist perfection in Melbourne’s Queen Victoria Gardens.
In South Australia, the 18th Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art opens concurrently on 1 March. Curated by José Da Silva and titled Inner Sanctum , the biennial showcases 24 artists and poets across exhibitions, performances and talks that explore our engagement with the world and each other. The Adelaide Biennial is part of the Adelaide Festival. Curated by artistic director Ruth Mackenzie CBE, and chief executive Kath M Mainland CBE, 2024’s Adelaide Festival features 64 events including Australian Premieres by Marina Abramović, Laurie Andersen and Víkingur Ólafsson.

The Biennale of Sydney opens to the public on 9 March and its 50th anniversary year is led by artistic directors Cosmin Costinaș and Inti Guerrero. Under the theme Ten Thousand Suns , dynamic artworks, large-scale installations and site-specific projects by 88 artists and collectives from 47 countries will be presented across a number of landmark galleries including, for the first time, at the recently restored White Bay Power Station. In association with the biennale, the Sydney Opera House will be illuminated every night after sunset with artwork projected onto its sails.

Visitors to Sydney will also be able to see the exhibition ‘Louise Bourgeois: Has the Day Invaded the Night or Has the Night Invaded the Day?’ , the artist’s largest survey to date in Australia and the first monographic exhibition staged in the Art Gallery of New South Wales’ new SANAA-designed building, Sydney Modern .
Rhana Devenport, director, Art Gallery of South Australia, is one arts leader planning to visit all three cities. ‘It’s a rare opportunity to experience these exemplary gatherings of art that push boundaries, and alter your perceptions, and create new memories,’ she says. With international curators and collectors jetting into Australia for this art extravaganza, the Art Grand Tour marks a distinct turning point for the country’s relationship with the global arts community.
