Ringo Starr’s All Starr Band Announces Fall 2023 Tour

Ringo Starr 's All Starr Band will hit the road this fall for a U.S. tour throughout September and October.

The monthlong trek will begin on Sept. 17 in Ontario, California, and run through Oct. 13 in Thackerville, Oklahoma. You can see the full list of dates below.

The current All Starr Band lineup features  Steve Lukather , Colin Hay , Edgar Winter , Warren Ham, Hamish Stuart and Gregg Bissonette. "I was in Atlanta in bed with the flu once and had to cancel two gigs, that's the only time," the former Beatle told Pollstar . "I love to play. I love an audience. This is a known fact. I keep telling the band, If only three people turn up, we're playing."

Before the fall trek, Starr will kick off his  spring tour on May 19 in Temecula, California.

Today Ringo Starr announced details for his 4th EP, Rewind Forward, available to pre-order today, ahead of its release on October 13, 2023 on digital, cassette, CD, and 10” vinyl. The title track will be available to stream or purchase everywhere this Friday August 25, 2023 HERE .

The EP features 4 new songs:

  • Shadows On The Wall
  • Feeling The Sunlight
  • Rewind Forward

“Rewind Forward was something I said out of the blue – it’s just one of those lines like a Hard Days Night. It just came to me. But it doesn’t really make sense,” Ringo said with a laugh about the title. “I was trying to explain it to myself and the best I can tell you about what it means is: sometimes when you want to go forward you have to go back first.”

“Rewind Forward” was written with his engineer and oft co-writer Bruce Sugar. “We’ve been writing a song now for every EP,” said Ringo. The other tracks find Starr collaborating with old and new friends – including longtime All Starr Steve Lukather and his Toto bandmate Joe Williams who wrote the opening track “Shadows on the Wall”; Paul McCartney, who wrote “Feeling the Sunlight”; and for the final track, “Miss Jean,” Heartbreakers Benmont Tench and Mike Campbell, who penned the track, and who also enlisted Ian Hunter, a former All Starr. In addition the EP features contributions from Joe Walsh, Steve Dudas, Lance Morrison, as well as Matt Bissonnette, Torrance Klein, Weston Wilson, Kip Lennon, and Marky Lennon. All songs were recorded at Ringo’s home studio in Los Angeles (except for “Feeling the Sunlight” which was largely recorded in the UK).

Ringo Starr announces 2023 North American tour dates with All Starr Band

“I love playing with the All Starrs and can’t wait to be back out on the road again," the Beatles drummer said

will ringo tour in 2023

Ringo Starr has announced new dates for a 2023 North American tour accompanied by his All Starr band.

The former Beatles drummer will perform mostly at West Coast venues throughout May and June, including a three-night stint at the Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas. He’ll be joined on the 19-date tour by his All Starr bandmates Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Edgar Winter, Warren Ham, Hamish Stuart and Gregg Bissonette.

Starr’s tour begins in California on May 19, with two successive dates in Phoenix following after. He will perform his Vegas residency after that, before a two-night outing in San Diego from May 28. The remaining itinerary consists of shows in Seattle, Denver and San Francisco, with the final date slated for California’s San Jose Civic venue on June 17. See the full list of tour dates below, and head here for tickets.

“It’s a new year and here are some new tour dates,” Starr said in a statement. “I love playing with the All Starrs and can’t wait to be back out on the road again with this band.”

The new tour comes after Starr was forced to cancel — on two occasions — a slew of dates for his 2022 tour after contracting COVID-19 . Prior to that, 12 dates of the same tour were postponed when Winter and Lukafather likewise tested positive for the virus. “[Ringo] hopes to resume [touring] as soon as possible”, a statement said at the time.

Starr’s most recent project, an EP titled ‘EP3’, arrived in September of last year. Before that, Starr put out his latest solo album, ‘What’s My Name’, in 2019. He shared two EPs in 2021: ‘Zoom In’ and ‘Change The World’ . In a three-star review upon its release, NME described ‘Zoom In’ as “the sort of upbeat, unrelenting jollity we expect from Ringo”.

Ringo Starr and All Starr Band’s 2023 North American tour dates are:

MAY 19 – California, Pechanga Resort Casino 20-21 – Phoenix, Arizona, Celebrity Theatre 24–27 – Las Vegas, Venetian Theatre 28 – San Diego, Humphreys Concerts 31 – San Diego – Humphreys Concerts

JUNE 2 – Orlando, Cuthbert Amphitheater 3 – Orlando, Hayden Homes Amphitheater 4 – Seattle, Venue TBD 6 – Denver, Bellco Theater, Denver Convention Center 7 – Colorado Springs, Pikes Peak Center 9 – Lincoln, Thunder Valley Casino 11 – San Francisco, The Masonic 13 – Salt Lake City, Eccles Theater 15 – Los Angeles, Greek Theatre 16 – Paso Robles, Vina Robles Amphitheatre 17 – San Jose, San Jose Civic

Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band Announce 2024 Tour

by Nick Stockton November 27, 2023, 10:36 am

Who would have guessed that, in 2023, The Beatles would be as relevant as ever? The remaining Fabs are riding high off the chart success of their record-breaking new single, “Now and Then,” so what better time for Ringo Starr and His All Starr Band to announce a 2024 Spring tour?

Videos by American Songwriter

will ringo tour in 2023

The 12-show run announced today will see the Beatles drummer and his hand-picked lineup of rock legends, including Edgar Winter, Steve Lukather, and Greg Bissonette, kicking things off with six shows at the Venetian in Las Vegas before heading south of the border for two dates in Mexico City at the Auditorio Nacional.

The jovial Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Famer announced via press release: “sometime during and just after every tour I think ok that’s it – I’m going to stop touring. My family don’t believe me anymore and so it comes as no surprise to them that once again, I’m taking the All Starr Band back on the road!”

Ticketmaster presale begins Tuesday, November 28 – don’t hesitate to grab these tickets, because with all the hubbub around The Beatles these days, they’re sure to go fast.

Once general onsale begins, you can get your tickets via StubHub , where orders are 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s FanProtect program. StubHub is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

Seeing a Beatle perform live is a bucket-list item for any rock fan, and Ringo himself has suggested that any tour could be his last. Don’t wait to get your tickets – you never know who might make a surprise onstage appearance.

Born Richard Starkey Jr. on July 7th 1940, Ringo Starr is best known as the drummer of the record breaking pop act, The Beatles.

Ringo Starr, like his peers in the Beatles embarked on a solo career despite his lack of songwriting abilities. His first and second instalments came in the form of “Sentimental Journey” on March 27th 1970, and “Beaucoups of Blues” released on September 25th 1970. The former reached number reached number 7 in the UK Albums charts, and number 22 in the Billboard 200. The latter unfortunately didn’t achieve similar chart success, however, it was recorded impressively in just two days.

His third album simply entitled “Ringo” released on November 2nd 1973 made it to number 7 in the UK Albums chart and number 2 in the Billboard 200. It was shortly after, certified Platinum by the RIAA. The album featured appearances of all four members of the Beatles. His fourth studio album, “Goodnight Vienna” despite not matching the success of the previous “Ringo” was certified Silver by the BPI and Gold by the RIAA, and peaking in the top twenty of eight countries.

Starr continued to release solo albums over the years including “Ring’s Rotogravure”, and “Ringo the 4th”. Unfortunately when Starr released “Old Wave” on June 16th 1983, the album didn’t achieve any chart success. He had a hiatus for the next decade, before releasing “Time Takes Time” on May 22nd 1992, which at best reached number 19 in Austria, however, Ringo Starr by this point had formed his All-Starr band, which he still tours with to this day.

On January 14th 2008, Starr released “Liverpool 8” which still managed to make the charts of six countries. He has also released a total of twelve live albums with his All-Starr band.

Live reviews

Ringo Starr blew the house down with his All-Starr Band on Friday, June 27th, 2014 at DTE Energy Music Theater in Clarkston, Michigan. At exactly 7:30 p.m., Ringo Starr burst joyfully onto the stage with Rockabilly Maestro Carl Perkins' famous song, "Matchbox", although Ringo Starr certainly did not have a long way to go! Following this Rockabilly Classic, Ringo burst effortlessly into his first solo hit, "It Don't Come Easy". Yet, throughout the entire 2 and half hour show, Ringo Starr kept the memories of his days with John, Paul and George constantly in mind! Ringo continued with his solo song "Wings".

He then made way for members of his All-Starr Band to "do their thing" with the following songs:

(1.) Todd Rundgren frolicked left and right on stage, with "I Saw the Light" and "Bang the Drum All Day".

(2.) Greg Rolie belted out the Santana hits "Evil Ways", "Black Magic Woman" "Gypsy Queen" and the Tito Puente cover "Oye como va".

(3.) Steve Lukather and Warren Ham broke-it-lose with the songs, "Rosanna" and "Africa". Steve Lukather also delivered a delectable solo in "Hold the Line".

(4.) Richard Page also "knocked the ball out of the park" with the Mr. Mister classic "Kyrie". He also drew Crowd-pleaser with the song "Broken Wings".

But, the undeniable Star of the show was the man "Ringo Starr", himself!

With almost no effort, except for one false-start on the song "Don't Pass Me By", from The Beatles "White Album", Ringo Starr gave his audience more than their money's worth with the songs, "Honey Don't" (another Carl Perkins Rockabilly Classic), "Yellow Submarine", during which he made reference to Led Zepellin, by warning that, "If you don't know this number, then you have come to the wrong venue!", his solo song "Anthem", "I Wanna Be Your Man" (before which he asked if there were any ladies in the audience?), "Photograph" (which he had co-written with George Harrison), "Act Naturally", which was written by Buck Owens, (about which Ringo said that always tries to Act Naturally), "With a Little Help from My Friends" and the John Lennon Anti-Vietnam Anthem "Give Peace a Chance", for which Ringo was joined once more my all the members of his 2014 All-Starr Band! Ringo finished off this truly memorable concert by saying "thank you very much! You have been a great audience! Always remember, "PEACE AND LOVE IS THE ONLY WAY!" "Good Night Everybody!" The audience was eager to catch a glimpse one more time of there "Starr", but this was not meant to be! The lights went up at 10:00 p.m. and Ringo Starr had made history yet again at DTE Energy Music Theater! By Amit Kshirsagar Ann Arbor, Michigan

Fun show in the round at Phoenix's Celebrity Theater with the legendary Ringo Starr fronting his band of "All-Starr"s Ringo was his usual fun-loving, funny and boisterous self coming out right at the start with his cover of "Matchbox" then into his own "It Don't Come Easy" & The Beatles "What Goes On".

It was then time for Ringo to sit on the drums and backup his fellow band mates as they took turns (figuratively and literally) onstage and first up was Gregg Rolie. Best known as Journey's keyboardist, Gregg's first gig was with Santana and this was 50 years ago during Santana's formative years and this was where they drew from as Gregg and band tore through "Evil Ways" with Toto's Steve Lukather on guitar. Steve was next with "Rosanna" and if I had only one complaint about the show, it would be the tone on Lukather's guitar. The screechy, high-compressed distortion tone worked for his 80's hits but a cleaner tone would've been much better for the Ringo and Santana songs, but overall the complaint is small as his interplay with band, especially Gregg Rolie, is exceptional.

The Average White Band's Hamish Stuart may be the least known member of Ringo's entourage and this was noticeable during his three takes at AWB hits throughout the night. The songs were well played and Hamish is having a blast but the crowd seemed indifferent using the time for bathroom breaks instead.

Colin Hay started his Men At Work with the ubiquitous "Down Under" which came off a bit lackluster but he and the band, especially multi-instrumentalist Warren Ham's sax playing on "Overkill" & "Who Can It Be Now".

The show wrapped with Ringo once again taking the center stage and a slew of hits ending with Sgt. Peppers' "With A Little Help From My Friends" and a little snippet of "Give Peace A Chance" to wrap the evening up.

It's a slightly cheesy but delightfully entertaining show. Yeah, it's not ALL Ringo (I was with a friend who was genuinely surprised at this fact, even though Ringo has been doing this for 30 years) but it was nice to see a true legend up close, and with the rotating stage, at every angle possible.

Ringo Starr is best known as the drummer of one of the most legendary, chart topping and record breaking bands of all time, The Beatles. What I was expecting was a solo tribute man nostalgically reminiscing over the music and band that made him famous. What I got was a legend and true talentin his own right. Ringo Starr absolutely smashed it. He brought the house down with a number of his solo hits, including ‘It Don’t Come Easy’ and ‘Wings’. Ringo and his band in no way tried to emulate The Beatles, but rocked the stage by bringing their own lively energy and music to the excited crowd. However, homage was indeed paid to the band that made Ringo a Star(r)! ‘With a Little Help from myFriends’ and ‘Yellow Submarine’ were, of course, played to rapturous applause. As was classic ‘Let it Be’, which was met with an incredible cheer from the crowd. However, Ringo did not stray too far from his own solo set and was careful to give his performance a distinctively non-Beatles vibe so as to make his own mark on stage, which he did to great success.

The concert was fine, but Ringo sang few songs. I paid a ticket to see Ringo not the others and listen songs like "Oye como va" Excuse me???? Sorry I must say I feel really disappointed.

Also the problem with the video recording or pictures. In 21st century is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE tell people do not use the mobile phone to record or take pictures. It was outrageous the people who were in the first 4 rows we were under the sight of one of the security not letting us take videos. Of course I move to other rows to not to be in his sight and I could make pics and videos.

I at least counted 45 people recording around me when Ringo sang "Act Naturally".

We were very happy that we chose this concert Ringo Sarr and All Star Band at the Warner Thearter in Washington DC. Mr. Starr was flanked by Mr. Lukather, Todd Rundgren, former Santana and Journey keyboardist Gregg Rollie, Mr. Mister vocalist and bassist Richard Page, drummer Gregg Bissonette (David Lee Roth, Spinal Tap) and multi-instrumentalist Warren Ham. They played HITS by all and our seats in row S was very close and the sound was excellent.

Phenomenal ! I had a really good time. Not only the band was phenomenal, But the mixture of hits from the 60s 70s and 80s was such a joy. Ringo it’s just amazing for a man of his age. I had a great time and I do not regret a penny I spent on going to the show.

Ringo was amazing. Lots of energy and his voice sounded as good as ever. The rest of the band was good but I think that most people would like to hear more of Ringo rather than Toto and Santana but maybe that's just my opinion. Overall, I enjoyed the show.

Jeff Lynne's ELO announce final tour: How to get tickets to Over and Out

will ringo tour in 2023

Jeff Lynne’s ELO dazzled audiences with a show of sonic perfection when the band reappeared in the U.S. in 2018-2019.

Now, the melodic wizard and his ace musical comrades will hit the road a final time for The Over and Out Tour. A 27-date outing will commence Aug. 24 in Palm Desert, California and wrap Oct. 25 in Los Angeles. In between, Lynne and ELO will visit cities including Chicago, Atlanta, Seattle, Cleveland, Phoenix, Philadelphia, Houston and Washington, D.C.

An ELO presale begins at 10 a.m. local time March 20, with the general sale starting at 10 a.m. local time March 22. VIP experiences will also go on sale at 10 a.m. local time March 20. Tickets will be available via livenation.com and details about the VIP packages at jefflynneselo.com.

During the band’s last U.S. run , Lynne offered a 20-song setlist that included Electric Light Orchestra gems “Evil Woman,” “Don’t Bring Me Down,” “Telephone Line” and “Do Ya,” all reproduced with stunning clarity. Even the underappreciated and much-maligned “Xanadu” from the 1980 Olivia Newton-John movie received its due.

In addition to his prowess as a producer, Lynne was also a co-founder and member of The Traveling Wilburys with George Harrison, Bob Dylan, Roy Orbison and Tom Petty. The collective also received a nod in the live production with a comforting rendition of “Handle with Care.”

Lynne was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2023 and ELO ushered into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2017.

Taylor Swift's Eras Tour crowd caused earthquake-like tremors. These 5 songs shook SoFi Stadium the most.

By Nicole Brown Chau

Updated on: March 18, 2024 / 6:44 PM EDT / CBS News

Taylor Swift is known to have an energetic fan base, but just how much energy can 70,000 Swifties generate? A group of scientists in California may have an answer based on earthquake-like signals from her Los Angeles Eras Tour concert at SoFi Stadium on Aug. 5, 2023.

After Swift's concerts at Seattle's Lumen Field in July caused seismic activity, a California Institute of Technology research team sought to better understand what causes "concert tremor." The team recorded vibrations from motion sensors it set up near and inside SoFi Stadium as well as regional seismic network stations and was able to detect 43 of the 45 songs Swift performed during her concert.

By calculating the energy radiated during each song at the Los Angeles concert, the Caltech researchers could interpret each as a local magnitude of an earthquake that would have radiated the same energy, according their research article , published in Seismological Research Letters on March 13.

With these calculations, the study found the most energetic signals during these songs:

  • "Shake It Off" with a local magnitude of 0.851
  • "You Belong with Me" with a local magnitude of 0.849
  • "Love Story" with a local magnitude of 0.800
  • "Cruel Summer" with a local magnitude of 0.741
  • "22" with a local magnitude of 0.645

The energy released during each song is over a few minutes, rather than a second in the case of an earthquake, explained Gabrielle Tepp, a staff seismologist at the Caltech Seismological Laboratory who oversaw the study. "So the magnitude calculated from the maximum amplitude of shaking is much lower (about -2)," she told CBS News.

The researchers determined that crowd motion was the primary source of the concert tremor signals, not the speaker system and instruments.

They also analyzed three other concerts at SoFi in the summer of 2023: Morgan Wallen, Metallica and Beyoncé.

"Overall, the results from these concerts are similar to those from the Swift concerts and support the audience-source hypothesis," the research article says. "The (local magnitude) of the songs was in the same range as the Swift concerts, although none matched or exceeded the strongest Swift signal."

Swift's Eras Tour has broken multiple records, including becoming the first to gross over $1 billion , according to Pollstar. Swift is currently on a brief break from shows, with the tour starting again on May 9 in Paris after the release of her eleventh studio album, The Tortured Poets Department , on April 19.

Taylor Swift's reign continues as she ramps up for the next leg of The Eras Tour. The singer-songwriter will kick off the European portion of her world tour in Paris in May, which will continue throughout the summer. From there, she'll return to North America to tour Canada and a few remaining US cities in the fall. If you're hoping to attend, we've compiled all of the details of The Eras Tour, including how to get Taylor Swift tour tickets.

Swift's Eras Tour has taken the world by storm since March 2023. The three-plus-hour tour features hits from each of Swift's album eras, from "Lover" to her recent Grammy Award-winning "Midnights." Each show also features surprise songs and occasional guests, so fans never quite know what they're in for. Swift will release her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," in April, but it's unknown if any of those songs will make their way to the tour setlist.

Getting tickets has become its own battle and many fans have waited hours in the Ticketmaster queue to hopefully snag some seats, if they could get a presale ticket code in the first place. While Swift continues to extend the tour, including new US dates, tickets remain hard to come by.

Below, we've put together a guide on everything to know about The Eras Tour, including the tour schedule, ticket purchasing details, resale ticket prices, and the concert film streaming options . You can also peruse resale vendors like StubHub and Vivid Seats at your leisure.

Taylor Swift international tour dates

The Eras Tour international dates resume on May 9 in Paris. The European tour will run until August 20 in London. UK prices are listed in pounds, and start times vary from city to city. US dates start in October and can be found under the following table.

Taylor Swift North American tour dates

The Eras tour will return to the US on October 18 in Miami. In addition to the Miami shows, Swift will perform multiple dates in New Orleans and Indianapolis. On November 14, Swift will head to Canada for several shows in Toronto and Vancouver. All North American shows start at 7 p.m. local time.

How to buy tickets for Taylor Swift's 2024 tour

Original standard tickets for Taylor Swift's 2024 sold out long ago for both international and domestic dates. All US tickets and many international tickets were sold through Ticketmaster , although select international locations used different services.

Tickets for most dates are available on resale websites like StubHub and Vivid Seats . These are generally higher-priced than the originals, which are no longer available. Keep in mind that some countries have rules regarding reselling tickets.

How much are Taylor Swift tickets?

Ticket prices vary by date and location. International resale tickets tend to be a bit cheaper than US resale tickets. It's worth noting that some of the cheapest tickets have restricted views.

StubHub's cheapest European tickets range from $392 (Madrid, Spain, on May 29) to £978 (London, United Kingdom, on June 22). The latter is around $1,248 in USD. The lowest prices for most shows are around $450 to $1,000. On Vivid Seats , the cheapest tickets for these dates go for $549 and $683, respectively.

When it comes to North American shows, the cheapest StubHub tickets range from $1,045 (Vancouver, Canada, on December 8) to $2,081 (Miami, Florida, on October 19). Most of the cheapest tickets are priced between $1,200 and $1,800. On Vivid Seats, the cheapest Taylor Swift tickets on these dates start at $1,133 and $2,212, respectively. The two resale vendors generally have similarly priced offerings, but this varies from show to show.

Who is opening for Taylor Swift's tour?

Taylor Swift has a variety of opening acts, from up-and-coming singers to established groups. Opening acts vary by date. For the European leg of the tour, Paramore will open for Swift. In the US and Canada, Gracie Abrams will be the opening act.

Will Taylor Swift add more dates to the Eras Tour?

Taylor Swift already added additional stops to her tour due to popular demand, including her US tour dates this fall. She also added additional dates to some of her European city stops, including bonus performances in France and the United Kingdom, among other locations. It's unknown whether Swift will end up adding even more tour dates, but by the end of the upcoming US leg she will have been touring for almost two years, so fans shouldn't be surprised if she takes a break.

Power Rankings: Valspar Championship

Power Rankings

Change Text Size

If you already haven’t taken the time to confirm, the answer is yes. Someone other than Scottie Scheffler will win the Valspar Championship this week. No doubt that there was at least one entrant in the field who was curious that he wasn’t in it after the world’s top-ranked talent won consecutive tournaments.

A larger grouping than originally was planned is assembling on the Copperhead Course at Innisbrook Resort in Palm Harbor, Florida. For the explanation, details of the host course and more, continue reading below the ranking of those projected to contend.

As of Monday afternoon, the field stands at 155 but alternates will not be called unless it drops below 144. If necessary to achieve the same objective, this provision also will apply to next week’s Texas Children’s Houston Open and the Valero Texas Open the week after that.

The Copperhead Course is a par 71 with five par 3s and a customary set of four par 5s. The anchor leg of the Florida Swing stood as the hardest of the series in relation to par a year ago when the field averaged 71.935. That also easily was highest among all par 71s throughout the 2022-23 season. The challenge isn’t unusual, though. That it averaged below par a few weeks later in the spring of 2021 and in its more familiar slot in March of 2022 was a surprise.

No matter what, the parkland track has teeth, so all red numbers will have felt well-earned. Although Copperhead can stretch to 7,340 yards, ball-striking is at a premium because overseeded rough is allowed to grow to 3½ inches and overseeded Bermudagrass greens average 5,800 square feet. The putting surfaces also are allowed to reach 12½ feet on the Stimpmeter.

Then there’s the Snake Pit that closes the inward half. Nos. 16, 17 and 18 collaborate for a par-4-3-4 test that averaged +0.593 strokes to par last year. A proper goal for the wannabe winner will be to arrive at it with the lead so as to swing over it unscathed to paydirt. Taylor Moore played it in bogey-free, 1-under for the week, with his only birdie coming on the par-4 16th in the finale.

A strong start also could be imperative. Favorable conditions with manageable breezes are expected for the opening round. That changes considerably as the threat for rain and storms encroach by Friday when winds could gust in excess of 30 mph for a few hours. It’ll calm relatively on the weekend. Daytime temperatures will climb into the 70s.
