The Tourism Authority. Established as a parastatal organisation under the aegis of the Ministry of Tourism, the Tourism Authority is referred as the regulatory body of the tourism industry and is governed under the Tourism Authority Act 2006 (as subsequently amended). Its mandate is to promote sustainable development of the tourism industry.

The Mauritian government took the decision in January to prioritise tourism workers and hotel staff in the vaccine rollout to ensure visitors will be welcomed into a safe and secure environment in Mauritius.
