Day 1: GANGTOK

Meet & Greet on arrival at NJP station / IXB airport & transfer to Gangtok – “The Capital City of Sikkim”. On arrival check-in to your hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight in hotel

Day 2: GANGTOK

Start for a half-day excursion trip of Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft.) & Baba Harbhajan Singh Memorial (13200 ft) 52 km from Gangtok city. Lake freezes completely during the winter and is much revered by the locals. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: LACHUNG

This morning (at 9.00 am) pick up from the hotel at Gangtok & drive to Lachung (altitude 8610 ft). Enroute visit Singhik View point, Seven Sisters Water Falls, Naga Water Falls. On arrival check in to your hotel. Overnight at hotel

Day 4: LACHUNG

Early Morning visit Yumthang-valley (known as Valley of Flowers), Yumthang is the summer grazing ground of the Yaks & winter playgrounds of Yetis. On the way back visit Hot Spring considered to have medicinal properties. Back to the hotel for lunch. Spent afternoon interacting with the local people and their day-to-day activities and lifestyle. Day 5: GANGTOK

After breakfast (8.00 am) take the transfer to Gangtok Enroute witness the beautification of the wonderful Bheema & Twin Falls. On arrival at Gangtok check-in to your hotel. Overnight in hotel.

Day 6: DARJEELING

On our tour, along with getting acquainted with Gangtok, we shall explore the neighbouring destinations like Tsongmo Lake, which is situated close to Nathu La, the entry point to China. Tsongmo is the home to Brahmany Ducks and shelter for several migratory birds. We shall end our exploration by seeking the blessing of a Divine One at Baba Mandir, near the famed Tsongmo Lake.

Early in the morning, we will leave for Tiger Hill for witnessing sunrise over Mt. Kanchendzonga. Return to the hotel and en-route visit Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. Later, after breakfast visit Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, PNZ Zoological Park (closed on Thursday), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refuge Centre (closed on Sunday) and Tea Garden (outer view). Return to the hotel for lunch and spend rest of the day at leisure, followed by overnight stay.

Darjeeling – Gangtok (105 km)

After breakfast drive to Gangtok, land of unspoiled natural beauty with alpine landscapes, thick luxuriant forests, rivers in torrent and peaceful lakes. On arrival, check into a hotel. For rest of the day you are free to explore the local area. Overnight stay at the hotel.

After breakfast, proceed to Tsongmo Lake (12,210 ft) and Baba Mandir, a 40 km drive which takes 2.5 hrs. This lake is located very close to Nathu La Pass, which is the entry point to China termed as the “Silk Route” and remains frozen for most parts of the year. The lake is home to the Brahminy ducks and many migratory birds. Nearby is the sacred Baba Mandir, which is highly acknowledged for its spiritual worth. We can also visit the Nathu La Pass, which is the border between India and China. Later drive back to Gangtok. In the evening you are free for your own activities, followed by overnight stay at the hotel.

Kanchenjunga. We walked across the tea estates and took a guided tour to the tea factory where we purchased and tasted the freshly brewed. The host arranged a bonfire with a barbeque where we spend our evening warming up while listening to some local music. The best part of Darjeeling was the morning view of sunrise from Tiger Hills. The breakfast in Keventer’s was bliss and the shopping at Darjeeling Mall was like a therapy. We stayed at Glenburn Tea Estate at Darjeeling to feel the tea beauty; I feel lucky to stay at the Glenburn Tea Estate. What a gem. It sits on a hilltop surrounded by hundreds of tea fields. We tasted the tea also and bought different flavored tea for friends and family. I will recommend this place and would rate 5 out of 5.
