As my son’s Christmas vacations were approaching, we promised him resplendent Christmas celebration which made us search family packages for Dubai on internet where we checked the ski dubai family package  offered by TravelTriangle. Our Dubai holiday commenced with our arrival at Dubai International Airport where a cab was already waiting for us. On our first day we visited Dubai gold & spice souq followed by a dinner at Marina dhow cruise. Next day we travelled to Abu Dhabi where we visited the Grand Mosque and Ferrari World. My son and husband were quite excited for the Ferrari World and the crazy rides and adventurous games there made our day! The Grand Mosque was magnificent, though we had to follow the dress code, the mosque was one of its kinds whose beauty can’t be justified in photographs.

Our next journey included Miracle garden and desert safari. Miracle garden was a vibrant experience that bestowed pleasantly in our eyes. It is the best place for people who love to take photographs. After having lunch at Miracle garden we left for Desert safari. I believe no traveller must skip desert safari as it dwell the crazy dune bash and various cultural activities such as belly dancing, fire show, henna painting, camel riding and much more!

Our fourth day in Dubai was the most amazing one and we felt that our stay must have been for a longer period. We went to Burj Khalifa and Jumeirah beach on this day. We were enthralled by the breezy and beautiful view from the 124th & 125th floor of Burj Khalifa.

Our stay at Dubai was amazing and we look forward to revisit the place for a bit longer period, possibly with other such Dubai tour packages for family .

2. A Refreshing escape to the land of Desert & Gold!

Being a frequent traveller, I had been very particular about selecting my destinations. This time we planned for an international trip but it was difficult to figure out a package that matched our professional lives as all four of us carries quite a busy schedule. Later, after relaxing for some time in our hotel we left for the Desert Safari. It was a fun-filled place which was followed by dinner at Dhow cruise. Next day we went to a beach and admired the colossal Burj al Arab and Palm Atlantis. Later, we went to Dubai aquarium where we were astonished by huge sharks, ray-filled tank, and crawling snakes. The day ended with spectacular view of Burj Khalifa. The fountain show at Burj Khalifa was the best moment of our entire trip in Dubai.

On our third day of this Dubai family tour package , we went to Dubai Frame and felt grateful for not missing this beautiful glass path, reflecting recent landmarks of the city on one side and old historic part on the other. The remaining time of the day was well-spent at Desert Safari where we enjoyed Dune bashing, camel rides, belly dancing and fire show.

Next day we took a short trip to Abu Dhabi where we visited the majestic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque which manifested the contribution of artisans and materials from across the globe. After mosque, we went to the Ferrari world and the main attraction at this place was Formula Rossa. It's the world’s fastest roller coaster ride and we extolled every moment spent at this place. Our last day at Dubai kept us occupied in shopping. Our Dubai holidays were amazingly planned and executed.

I was tired of my busy schedule and wanted a short escape to spend quality time with my parents. DUBAI: ESSENTIAL INFORMATION

• Dubai is one of the seven emirates of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
• It’s the second-largest city in the UAE, after Abu Dhabi which is also the country’s capital city.
• HH Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum is the ruler of Dubai. He’s also the country’s prime minister and the vice president.
• Arabic is the local language.
• Emiratis constitute less than 20% of the overall population, with over 80% being the ex-pat community from over 150 countries.
• The UAE Dirham or AED is the local currency and is pegged to the US Dollar, exchangeable at a rate of AED 3.67 per one USD. As per the current rate, one dirham is equivalent to a somewhat 19.5 Indian Rupee.
• There are ATMs and reliable money exchange bureaus all over the city.
• Dubai International Airport is the world’s fifth-busiest airport. There is also Al Maktoum International Airport in Dubai South.
• Dubai’s eclectic neighborhoods like Bur Dubai and Karama have the greatest concentration of Indians.
• Unlike India, the weekend in Dubai falls on Fridays and Saturdays.

And as for the language and other aspects, Indians will find it easy to communicate and navigate the city, with the majority of the ex-pat community being people from different parts of India.

PLAN YOUR DUBAI TRIP

• Best Time to Visit: You can travel to Dubai during any part of the year, however, the most recommended time is during the cool, pleasant winter months (November to April), particularly if you enjoy the outdoors or want to participate in popular events like DSF (Dubai Shopping Festival). Al though Dubai never slows during summer months (May to September), it’s still good to know that the temperature outside will be exceedingly high reaching up to 55 degrees Celsius.
• Recommended Duration: With tons of attractions and experiences to discover, you’ll need at least four to five days to take in Dubai’s top attractions.
• At Religious Sites: Ladies should wear loose clothing that covers your head, shoulders, and knees.
• Theme Parks: Choose comfortable clothing that is not revealing.
• Beaches: You can wear whatever you usually put on your beach visit. But, make sure that you dress modestly and don’t go topless.
• Must-have: Now even if it’s summer or winter, dress modestly. Also, carry a cardigan as the malls and other indoor attractions are air-conditioned and hence super cool in every climate.
• Cosmetics & Medications: Besides your regular beauty creams and medications, be sure to pack a good quality sunscreen as Dubai has year-round intense sunshine.
• Other accessories: H ats, sunglasses, and a pair of good quality footwear.
• Gadgets: There is so much to see in Dubai means it also allows for some insta-worthy pictures. So come prepared with (camera, tripod, etc) to capture the best ever clicks.
• Where to stay? Choose an accommodation that provides easy access to all attractions and experiences covered in your travel program. If shopping and entertainment are high on your priority, consider accommodation in Al Barsha or Downtown Dubai. If you’re looking for budget-friendly choices, there are some decent choices across Dubai’s Bur Dubai and Deira regions.

DUBAI VISA INFORMATION

Dubai visa or UAE visa can be used to travel anywhere in the country. Indians planning for a short trip to Dubai can apply for a Tourist Visa, Visit Visa or a Transit Visa. There is also a multiple-entry visa which is especially ideal for those who wish to fly in and out of Dubai multiple times during the duration of the visa.

Some Indians are eligible for a Visa on Arrival (check below for more details) too. Apart from these, people traveling to Dubai or UAE during the period from July 15 to September 15 don’t have to pay any visa charge for their kids (under 18 years). All tourist visas except for 30-day visas are non-renewable.  

• Accurately filled out the tourist visa application form.
• A valid Indian passport that holds a validity of at least six months from the date you plan to enter Dubai or UAE.
• Scanned copies of the first and last pages of your passport.
• Clear passport size photographs of passengers taken against a white background.
• If you’re female planning to travel alone, attach a NOC from your father or husband.

• A letter which details the purpose of your visit.
• Your Dubai sponsor’s passport and resident visa copies.
• A security deposit of up to AED 2000 per visa. This is refundable but only once you submit the proof of your exit from the country.
• The confirmed air ticket of your onward journey
• Confirmed hotel booking
• Visa on Arrival: This is applicable to only those Indians who hold a residency visa of the UK or European Union.

OK to Board?

This is a mandatory procedure to be adhered to by Indians planning for a short or temporary visit to the UAE. If you don’t know what Ok to Board is, it’s a simple procedure wherein your airline conducts a check in order to ensure the legitimacy of your UAE travel documents, mainly passport, UAE visa, etc.

In fact, you’ll be able to board the plane and travel only if your airline verifies all documents and update your PNR status as ‘OK to Board.’ Apart from this, you can seek the help of your visa service provider to get this process done for a nominal charge.

• Bastakiya Quarter: One of the best ways to get your fill of Emirati culture and past is to make a visit to the Bastakiya Quarter or Al Fahidi Historical Neighborhood. This heritage site is well preserved with its ancient sand-colored structures complemented by wind towers and traditional courtyards. Besides a trip to its top attractions such as Dubai Museum and Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding, you can take an abra ride along Dubai Creek.  
• Ski Dubai: This is undoubtedly Dubai’s coolest attraction. Located within the Mall of the Emirates, this gives you the chance to participate in authentic snow activities even when Dubai simmers with a temperature of over 50 degrees Celsius.  
• Dubai Parks and Resorts: This is the region’s first-of-its-kind integrated resort with three theme parks and a water park under its roof, such as Motiongate Dubai, Bollywood Parks Dubai, Legoland Dubai, and Legoland Dubai. Yes, you guessed it right; Bollywood Parks is dedicated to your favorite Hindi movies and iconic characters.
• Palm Jumeirah: The palm-tree shaped Palm Jumeirah is probably the first thing that comes into the mind when one thinks about Dubai. The exquisiteness of this man-made island is best experienced from a sky-high viewpoint on a helicopter ride or a sky diving adventure. Checkin and boarding staff at Delhi Airport is not cooperative with passengers Their behavior very humiliating . They don’t allow Lap top bag and Ladies’ purse/vanity bag which most of the airlines allow besides cabin baggage and check in baggages. They try to charge extra payment on the pretext of small variations which normally other Airlines staff don’t do. Airline staff should be courteous & cooperative but check in staff of Emirates Airline at Delhi was not so at all.

Very bad !! My confirmed ticket got canceled with out notifying me in hyd airport , crew didn’t help us out !! They were very rude!! They made me pay for the confirmed ticket again !! Can you please let us know how I can get the refund for the ticket I paid

Overall good but one thing I didn’t understand is why they didn’t allow me to pick my own seat.

Check-in process at Bengaluru airport was atrociously slow. Emirates should allow baggage drop option after online check-in and verification of documents. The rest of the flight was quite good and we didn't have any complaints.

The air hostess spilled tomato juice on me by mistake in Mumbai -Dubai flight. I was traveling from Mumbai to UAD. Her senior came and offered couple of small chocolates (probably given in business class) as compensation. I asked for access to lounge as I had to travel till IAD and I could shower and change. But she said she cannot do that and did nothing further. I found the response to their mistake as inappropriate.

Food was not eadable. Testless and not apealing. order for indian vegitarian, recived spice less. combination of main course and side iteams are far away from traditonal food, serve less iteams. , but eadoble. Thanks

I bought Business class ticket but they treated me like economic class. No lounge allowed at check inn I have to take stuff out while other passengers have more than 25 lb in bag. Because I bought tickets from other than airlines . It’s discriminations from airlines to passengers.

Crew were very polite and quicker in service. Excellent cooling, comfortable seats and tasty food served

In my opinion, Etihad Airways is a first rate airline except for one important element. On the day before my return flights, when I chose my seats on the Etihad website I was charged an additional $55 (US) in order to sit on the aisle. I was not at all happy about this additional "hidden" charge and I felt cheated.

The staff was kind and polite, but it was very very hot and no ways to have some fresh air.it would be also be nice to have more time to sleep, since it was a night flight

My wife and I were upgraded to Business Class on our Dublin-Abu-Dhabi flight on the 22nd of January. Being served by "Mariyan" (not too sure about her name, she's from Tunisia) was the real highlight of our flight, she deserves to be working with etihad. We are looking forward to the next upgrade as we are flying back to Dublin on February 01, 2024. If I am not mistaken we have just reached GOLD status as Etihad Guests.

One thing is very important is you people not giving seat arrangement together to couple, senior citizen. You have to take care of senior citizen. Do not look about money. Money is not important everywhere. Make relationship strong is very very important. I like Etiyad air line out of all air line. Food was hot and delicious. Air hostess gave very good service, nice attitude, very good behaviour. I gave 10 out of 10 marks. Thanks Jivraj

I WOULD ADVISE NOT TO BOOK YOUR FLIGHT ON KAYAK. THEY SHOW BETTER FARES AND AFTER I BOOKED MINE, I FIND OUT THAT IT DID NOT INCLUDE LUGGAGE. i HAD TO PAY $800 TO CHECK IN MY BAGS.

Entertainment did not work from flight from Abu Dhabi to Kolkata. Emirates has a much better flight in that sector.

INDIGO Never On Time & Always Prefer to Shuttle Passengers Like shuttle Corks

I did not like the communication gap existing amongst the staff and the customer. My flight to Nagpur was delayed by two and half hours but it was informed to me on email ( not by W.A. or SMS) when I have already left my home in Baner area. I was painfully detained at airport with luggage when the gate no. 10 was changed to 5. I'll never recommend your flight to anybody.

Seats don't recline, no charging points. New aircraft and very clean. Crew should serve some water atleast.

There was inordinate delay without any plausible reason. This has become a normal feature of Indigo now a days.

Flight was inordinately delayed, which has become normal with Indigo. Crews were inattentive. After landing there was a lot of time for arrival of chek in baggage

Staff could have been helpful when traveling with kids and seniors. Not at all professional staff, just some janitors who do not understand hospitality. The food was horrible; the tomatoes tasted foul. The flight was small and the legroom was not good.

Flight was changed without proper monitor display. Boarding process was confusing with no announcements.

Flight arrived on time even though boarding and takeoff were delayed. No infant seatbelt provided. Crew was a bit indifferent. Baggage was damaged and representatives refused to write up a damage report.

IGI T-1 terminal is under renovation. So, the boarding and check in process took extremely long, due to reduced number of kiosks. Further, the flight was delayed by 1 hour 15 mins. The same was not being properly informed to the passengers because of which a feeling of slight chaos was evident amongst the passengers. All this further increased the discomfort, which was already in the menu due to the ATR aircraft. Lastly, the Spicescreen website wasn't working properly due to pathetic interface and poor wifi connectivity, which otherwise could have been a pass-time during the flight. Such issues were not expected from Spicejet and need to be taken care and handled in a better manner in future.

Timing Should be Accurate to Fly Flight was Delay By 3 hrs

Fly has been canceled 3 hours before departure. That happens after 2 delayed departures. No automatic compensation. Spicejet refused to give us compensation form. Bad service.

Landing at Delhi IGI AIRPORT was not smooth.It made us bit nervous. Then the rest was ok. Staff and the crew are very efficient.

One of the worst flying experiences: 1. Flight was over 2 hours delayed with no one providing any reason or updates. 2. Started boarding the plane with over an hour before takeoff. 3. Cabin crew arrived from another flight and had no idea why the passengers were so pissed off. 4. Evasive explanations for the delay - paperwork still being done/aircraft is being fueled etc. 5. Overhead storage space was many rows “behind” the “luxury” SpiceMax seats… Idiots! Had to fight the throngs of impatient disembarkers to retrieve luggage. 6. Non-functioning wifi, while crew is announcing that everyone should log on and take advantage of the wonderful entertainment options! Haha! What clowns! SpiceJet is probably the most incompetent organization from top to bottom. Total nincompoops!

If you are traveling to mumbai -- must try SFO - MUM direct flight. It's a game changer when you are traveling to India. Timings are well designed, optimal and makes the travel enjoyable.

On time boarding, proper information, friendly and cordial approach of staff, particularly crew members and the most important timely available of checked in baggage after arrival.

Air India needs to launch new planes. Seats are worn out, most of the plane's TV screens wasn't working, USB charging ports wasn't working as well so I can charge my phone & watch my download movies, Food was mediocre, the plane smells. How can Air India put through their customers with this bad experience? This complaint needs to get escalated to the upper management. How shameful is the upper management to improve this plane? The flight is going back & forth from NEW YORK & DELHI. Two of the big cities in the world and this is how your experience is for sitting in a plane for 12+ hrs? Get your planes fixed ASAP Air India (TATA Management do your job right).

One of my worst experiences. Nothing was working in the flight. Entertainment system was broken, seat was very uncomfortable, crew did not offer water until food was provided, lights were not working, attendant call was not working. In short everything was broken and duct taped.

Boarding and crew were nice Food was normal No entertainment was on the flight. Neither TV screen was there nor Wi-Fi connection to the mobile phone or iPad was there. Even the budget wing of AIR INDIA ie AIR INDIA EXPRESS provided us Wi-Fi connectivity on our mobile phone in their DOMESTIC SECTOR. So not providing Wi-Fi connectivity on international flight was unthinkable.

Old aircraft, crew were so so. Meals were mediocre. Flight to delhi was delayed. Lounge needs update and was mediocre too.

The aircraft was very old, felt like poor economy seats. Entertainment was not working. Plug point was broken. For the coat of a business class ticket, I was very disappointed and dissatisfied. Crew on flight to Mumbai were good, on way back they were mediocre

Bathrooms were horrible and no cleaning. Announced baggage claim carousel as one but came to a different one. People were waiting

Dubai set to host world's first flying taxi service with air taxi startup Joby Aviation

Work on a partnership with the Gulf emirate announced earlier this year is “a bit more advanced in the approach that they’re taking” than in other jurisdictions, Joby’s president of operations, Bonny Simi, said in an interview. “So we’ll be able to launch in Dubai first.”

Joby said in February that it was targeting initial operations by 2025 in Dubai, where it won a six-year exclusive agreement to operate its electric air-taxi services, and commercial services by early 2026. That milestone may now be reached as soon as late 2025, Simi said.

Dubai’s government has provided economic support, while regulators have dedicated resources especially to Joby, helping to “remove as many roadblocks as possible for us to move as quickly as possible and as safely as possible,” Simi said. The support will help to “de-risk that initial launch for us” financially, she said.

Joby initially plans to establish four vertiports across Dubai for its electric vertical takeoff and landing vehicles, Simi said. The launch sites include Dubai International Airport, a global hub for air travel; also the man-made island of Palm Jumeirah, downtown Dubai near the Burj Khalifa tower, and the city’s marina.

Rival Archer Aviation Inc. reached a preliminary deal last year with the government of nearby Abu Dhabi, targeting manufacturing and a service launch by 2026. While Joby will have exclusivity for flights contained within Dubai, Archer plans to operate flights between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and across the United Arab Emirates.

Other eVTOL market aspirants have also flocked to oil-rich Gulf states. Lilium NV, Embraer SA’s Eve Air Mobility and Volocopter GmbH have all signed agreements in Saudi Arabia, the UAE or both.
