  • kirstyab02 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Interesting Facts We took the City Sightseeing Bus Tour and throughly enjoyed it. It took us down to Cardiff Bay. Which was nice but really cold. I can imagine on a hot sunny day it would be amazing down there but it wasn’t quite like it yesterday. I’m glad we done it though as it was really interesting. The guide was really nice. Made little jokes and was really enjoyable. Read more Written November 20, 2019
  • C E 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Great way to see the city I got a discount by showing my Castle ticket and was amazed to be told the ticket was valid for two days. This is great way to get around the city and you can hop on and off as much as you want. No live guide at this time of year but the free earphones were comfortable and the commentary very interesting. Drivers were very friendly and helpful and buses are about every half hour. Also you can use your ticket to get a discount on these buses in any other city which is a very nice bonus. Read more Written November 1, 2019

  • MerseysideTinkerbell 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Get your ticket at say 11am and do tour all way round then get 10% of castle entry & use next day We wanted to do this although to be fair there arent many stops but if you do like we did and got it at 11am (an hour after the first tour) and then get on the tour at the castle for example and go all the way around which takes about an hour, you here all the commentary (it was live commentary in the morning we noticed) then get off and go into the castle and show your ticket you get 10% off your castle entry ticket price, making your bus ticket that much more value for money. But if you also intend to go down to Cardiff Bay and have thought about catching the water taxi which runs from inside the park next to the castle then why not the next day for example use the bus tour again as transport as long as you use before 11am which is when we purchased ours ie we caught the first bus at 10am from the castle and got off at Cardiff Bay then spent a number of hours around there, going over the barrage and into the welsh assembly building, the pierhead building, the norwegian church etc. Then caught the water taxi back to Cardiff City centre later that day. This made the bus ticket much better value for money because we only paid £4 each for the water taxi one way instead of having to go both ways on it as used the hop on hop off bus as a means of transport as we had already been on the tour twice all the way around. Top Tip! Like I say we got on at 11am on the one day and did the full tour and it was very informative and enjoyable. Then used the ticket to get 10% off castle entry ticket, spent many hours in the castle. Came out and decided why not do the bus tour again as it was a lovely sunny afternoon before it finished for the day. It was the recorded commentary and most of the things that were pointed out were the same but we do find when a live commentary it can be a bit more personal and topical or if something is seen at the moment then it is pointed out to you. We then used it the next day at 10am when the first bus sets off as a means of getting to Cardiff Bay for free effectively and then only having to pay for the water taxi back. • peggyt2013 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Great value for money The tickets are valid for two whole days which we took full advantage of. The live guide, Nigel, was a well of knowledge and humour and made the tours very special. The various drivers we encountered were also very friendly and we enjoyed two great days travelling around Cardiff with them. Read more Written July 25, 2019

The guide was entertaining and informative (didn't catch his name but it was Thursday 30th at 1pm). The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was I thought £13.50 was a little expensive. • Antony J 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Don’t - the worst value for money ever! We take sight seeing bus tours everywhere we go. Usually a great introduction to what’s going on. In most cities, the tours pass lots of interesting places that you can then visit later. Not with this one. Basically you get to see where the museum / town hall / university is. Then you go down to the bay (Millennium Centre, Bay, Norwegian Church) Then a drive close to where Shirley Bassey grew up, past the Rigby Stadium and your back at the Castle. Worth maybe £6 possibly £7. But this is not a guided tour so much as a very short jaunt. Read more Written April 21, 2019
  • mtducker 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Great tour! Well worth it! We booked this tour to get an overview of what Cardiff was like. We booked online using a discount code of 10% off - google to find one! We parked at the ‘Mermaid Quay’ carpark where it costs around £5.50 for approx 3-4 hours. Much more reasonable than anywhere else! The bus stop is also just across the road from the carpark alongside Bill’s Restaurant. Our tour guide was excellent from start to finish- engaging, educational and funny. Thank you for a great few hours:) Read more Written April 17, 2019

  • David S 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Great way to cover the city and learn the history Firstly yes does seem a little expensive our family ticket was I think £38.50 which seemed a lot as family on a tight budget but the kids did love the fact they could keep their ear phones. On boarding the bus we were greeted by the very friendly and helpful driver David. Then we climbed to the upper deck to take our seats. We boarded Cardiff Castle and did the complete circuit which took in and explain history of the National museum and surrounding building complex including university then Cardiff Bay with its amazing landmarks and ever changing history including BBC studios then back towards main town I think the entire journey was about hour and half with a continuous recorded commentary which was highly informative and entertaining throughout. A great way to see a great city Read more Written August 30, 2018

This is a must do in Cardiff. Read more Written August 23, 2018

Would have been better value for money if all the stops were available but on the day we visited most of the stops were unavailable due to road closures. The staff on the bus were lovely and very knowledgeable on our outward journey but on the return journey we were just given headphones to listen to a recording which was hard to hear due to a hen party on board! Read more Written 25 July 2019
  • 724naomir 0 contributions 4.0 of 5 bubbles Entertaining. Not the longest of city tours I've been on but I still enjoyed it. The guide was entertaining and informative (didn't catch his name but it was Thursday 30th at 1pm). The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was I thought £13.50 was a little expensive. • Gill W 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Brilliant open top bus! We visited the excellent Castle the got the open top bus that you can hop on and hop off anywhere! We did the whole tour around Cardiff it was fantastic and took a couple of hours but we saw everything and the quise was so knowledgeable and made the journey really funny and answered all our questions!! We loved it! Read more Written 26 May 2019
  • Antony J 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Don’t - the worst value for money ever! Read more Written 21 April 2019
Thank you for a great few hours:) Read more Written 17 April 2019

A great way to see a great city Read more Written 30 August 2018
  • Orangatanga 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Very informative and amusing I have done quite a few of the tours in Britain and this one was among the best. You could go on and hop off the bus at all the famous landmarks in Cardiff. The guides/drivers on the buses were amazing they certainly knew their stuff and added lots of humour. This is a must do in Cardiff. Read more Written 23 August 2018
  • JayC7271 0 contributions 3.0 of 5 bubbles Expensive! Would have been better value for money if all the stops were available but on the day we visited most of the stops were unavailable due to road closures. The staff on the bus were lovely and very knowledgeable on our outward journey but on the return journey we were just given headphones to listen to a recording which was hard to hear due to a hen party on board!
