From the seemingly small details—the plushness of the carpets, the thoughtful amenities in the cabins—to the ones you can’t miss—the friendliness of the staff, the incredible food and drink offerings—the experience on Celebrity Beyond is, well, truly beyond.

Tell us about the ship in general:

Standing 17 decks tall and a breathtaking 1,073 feet in length, Beyond is the third (and largest) ship in Celebrity’s luxury Edge Series. And let me hold no punches here, she’s incredible. The ship holds 3,260 guests and features 1,646 staterooms, with more restaurants, bars, and lounges than either ship before it. One of the surprises aboard Beyond was the enviable art sprinkled throughout every nook and cranny. A truly global showcase of talent, I often found myself thinking I would absolutely have that in my home . Lastly, it would be remiss not to mention that Celebrity Beyond is captained by Kate McCue, the first American female cruise ship captain.

Who is onboard?

The typical guests were generally older couples, average age somewhere around 55-65, peppered here and there with larger groups of friends or families. There were very few children on the ship, and myself and my husband (both 35) were one of the few “younger” couples onboard.

Describe the cabins.

I was extremely impressed with our AquaClass Sky Suite, an unbelievably spacious room featuring a king-size bed and a sitting area, with floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors that opened to reveal a generously sized terrace and an even more generous ocean view. The bathroom had two large sinks, a waterfall shower, and a delightful soaking tub that offered unobstructed views straight to the water. Also worth noting is the in-room tech, which allows you to adjust everything, from your shades to your lighting to your AC, straight from your phone. At 319 sq. feet, our cabin was frankly larger than a number of NYC hotel rooms I’ve stayed in. And if 319 sq. feet isn’t big enough for you, you can also book one of their two-story villas with its own private plunge pool. Important perk: no matter which stateroom you book, drinks, Wi-Fi, and tips are always included.

Tell us about the crew.

The friendliness of the crew was among the top highlights of the entire sailing experience on Beyond . With over 1,400 crew members, there was always a willing hand near-by with a greeting or offer of assistance. Walking the ship, the service was warm and friendly whereas the wait staff in the dining spaces edged closer to formal, though not stuffy. If you book an AquaClass Sky Suite, you also get a personal butler who comes in handy for dinner reservations. Finally, the crew came from over 60 different countries and they all wore their home country on their name tag which made for some great conversation starters.

What food and drink options are available on board?

With 15 restaurants, five cafes, and 12 bars and lounges on the ship, I happily gorged myself on every cuisine: from Mediterranean to Indian, from Italian to good ol’ fashioned American. And many, many in-betweens. The ship’s crown jewel is Le Voyage , a first-ever Daniel Boulud fine-dining restaurant at sea. Be prepared to spend money here as it’s not included in any package ($75/person for dinner or $125/person with wine pairing), but if you’re looking for a fancy treat, this is a good bet. Pro tip: don’t skimp on the pre-dinner bread offerings. You can thank me later. The appetizers and entrees mostly feature meat (primarily seafood) and the meal is served course-style—you actually can’t order a la carte. And while this meal was certainly a great experience, you can’t leave Beyond without having eaten at Eden. A three-story venue wrapped in panoramic views, the setting is as breathtaking as the food — and the food is incredible. Whatever you do, order The Pea for your cocktail and the risotto as one of your coursed meals. Plus, be prepared to order every dessert on the menu because you simply can’t choose just one.

When it comes to drinks, there are three can’t-miss bars: the Sunset Bar, World Class Bar, and the Martini Bar. The latter is located in the center of the ship and truly serves as the heartbeat of Beyond . Offering an impressive selection of martinis, the space was built to feel like a European piazza where you’ll often find live entertainment, excellent people watching, and a number of featured restaurants and coffee shops on its outer perimeter. The Sunset Bar offers a very different vibe via the spirit of an international beach club. Located on the aft of the ship, you get beautiful open water views with (you guessed it) great sunsets. Designed by Nate Berkus, it features two open-air decks and a pergola covered entrance that makes you feel like you could be summering in Mexico or Morocco. Lastly, and my personal favorite, is the World Class Bar. Less flashy than the other two, the beauty of having a drink here is the craft. With true mixologists behind the bar, I had some of my best cocktails sitting at this chic, velvet-and-glass space. While everything I sipped here was a delight, if you’re looking to be truly impressed, order the Banana Republic featuring Don Julio Repasado tequila, ripe charred bananas, Amaro, and cold brew.

Is there a spa on board and is it worth visiting?

Wellness is an important pillar of the experience on Beyond , and their spa is an all-encompassing space that really drives this home. You’ll find a robust fitness center and salon, and of course an exhaustive list of facials, massages, body therapies, and speciality services. I booked their Swedish massage, and I say this with no exaggeration, it was in the top three best massages I’ve ever had (and I’m no amaetur). However, what was most exciting about the onboard spa was the SEA Thermal Suite. Complimentary for AquaClass guests and included with a Thermal Suite pass, this is a dedicated quiet space with six distinct experiences that you can wander through at your leisure: a Crystalarium, heated sauna, Hammam, salt room, rainfall water therapy, and a mist aroma room.

How about the activities and entertainment?

There is no shortage of entertainment onboard. With two pools, multiple hot tubs, and two smaller infinity plunge pools, your water activities are many. There is also a two-story theater with entertainment every night, offering a variety of shows from dance to concerts, from Broadway-like performances to magic shows. If shopping is more of your thing, you’ll find a number of retail options featuring fine jewelry, watches, items inspired from the varying ports of call, and even a dedicated men’s store.

How was the experience for families?

I could count on one hand the number of children I saw onboard. However, that being said, Beyond did offer some family-friendly services that are worth noting. Most useful is their Camp at Sea program which is open every day and offers fun games, outdoor activities, video game tournaments, and slumber parties for children ages 3-17. There are also autism-friendly initiatives for families, including sensory-friendly films and toys, dietary menu options, and autism-friendly training for Camp at Sea employees. In terms of dining, kids can also experience Le Petit Chef, an immersive fusion of entertainment and dining utilizing augmented reality to present a four-course meal. Animated characters appear beside a child’s plate and prepare each course right in front of them before they’re served the actual dish. Apparently, it’s a blast for the parents as well.

Where did it sail and how were the excursions? Did anything stand out?

I was lucky enough to be on the inaugural voyage of Beyond , which included a 10-night Western Europe sail visiting Bordeaux, France; Lisbon , Portugal; Bilbao, Seville, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, and Barcelona , Spain. While a majority of these destinations are relatively easy to get to sans-ship, they’re all topnotch cities and worth exploring no matter how you get there. Speaking of exploring, there are a number of bookable excursions at every port—from cultural to culinary—to help you do just that.

Are there any stand out sustainability or green initiatives about this cruise?

When comparing to Celebrity’s previous ships, Beyond is equipped with several features that reduce fuel consumption by an additional 20 percent: a redesigned bow that aids in fuel efficiency, an emissions purification system helping to eliminate sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions by almost 100 percent, and an Air Lubrication System, which coats the ship’s hull with millions of tiny bubbles to reduce drag and improve fuel efficiency.

Anything else we should know?

You can’t talk about the Celebrity Edge series without giving a shout out to the Magic Carpet. Debuting first on Edge and back again on Beyond , the Magic Carpet is a tennis-court sized platform nestled against the side of the ship, literally floating above the ocean. On the Magic Carpet, you can have food and drinks with the truest of uninterrupted views. Plus, did we mention it moves deck levels? As its position changes throughout the sailing, you’ll find new, distinct experiences at every turn.

Celebrity Cruises’ newest ship is Beyond in every sense of the word

What do Simone Biles, Gwyneth Paltrow, Nate Berkus, Daniel Boulud and one of the world’s most Insta-famous naked cats have in common? Here’s a hint: It weighs 140,600 tons, yet somehow manages to float. 

Aptly named “Beyond,” Celebrity Cruises’ newest ship is sailing proof that some cruise companies never stop innovating – even during a global pandemic. In fact, Beyond’s steel-cutting took place in 2020. While the rest of the world was in lockdown, ship makers at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in northwestern France  were busy building the 17-deck, 1,073-foot-long vessel.

Capable of housing 3,260 passengers and 1,400 crew members, Beyond is basically an ocean-going village. The real groundbreaking ceremony, however, took place in March when Beyond’s captain, Kate McCue , became the first female captain to steer a cruise liner out of the 160-year-old shipyard.

It wasn’t Captain Kate’s first first. In 2015, she made waves as the first American woman to helm a major cruise ship. She’s an A-lister in the cruising industry and far from the only big name associated with Beyond. Biles is the ship’s godmother , Paltrow its well-being adviser and Berkus and Boulud lent their talents to the design and dining departments . McCue's naked cat is the ship’s unofficial mascot.

Beyond – which is currently in the Mediterranean before transitioning to the Caribbean this fall – is the third, and largest, ship in Celebrity’s avant-garde Edge Series . Like its sister ships, Edge and Apex , Beyond boasts something no other cruise line can claim: the world’s first cantilevered platform at sea.

Magic Carpet ride

Dubbed the Magic Carpet , this multiuse space hovers over the open water like a 2,100-square-foot floating shelf. It’s dynamic, too. When Tom Wright, the architect behind Dubai’s head-turning Burj Al Arab Hotel , designed the Magic Carpet, he made sure it was capable of moving seamlessly up and down more than 10 stories. During the day, it’s on Deck 14, allowing passengers to lounge in front of floor-to-ceiling water views. At night, it lowers to Deck 5, where it functions as a bar, live music venue and seafood restaurant .

The Magic Carpet’s “Dinner on the Edge” is just one of Beyond’s 32 food and beverage options, which include eight specialty restaurants. The crème de la crème is Le Voyage , Boulud’s first restaurant at sea. An ode to French cuisine inspired by international flavors, Le Voyage wows with dishes like Argentinian filet mignon; five-spice duck pithivier, a savory pie; and Brazilian moqueca, a fish stew.  It’s also hard not to be impressed by the walk-through wine display in Cosmopolitan . Like the ship’s other specialty restaurants, its menu was crafted by Cornelius Gallagher , the Michelin-starred chef who moonlights as Celebrity’s vice president of food and beverage.

Beyond also has buffet central, although it’s laid out more like a high-end food hall. Think Eataly  – but instead of just Italian food, expect to find a little bit of everything. Just don’t plan on serving yourself. This ship – which has one of the highest numbers of handwashing stations per capita – is playing it as safe as possible when it comes to germ prevention. For lighter fare like acai bowls and piñakales (basically piña coladas with kale in lieu of rum), passengers can refuel at the Spa Cafe . Its menu was given the green light by Paltrow,  Goop founder.

New accommodations

Beyond’s accommodations range from 181-square-foot interior staterooms  to two-story villas with private plunge pools and the seemingly endless two-bed, two-bath Iconic Suites . Measuring 1,892 square feet, they’re the largest in Celebrity’s entire fleet. While a four-night Caribbean cruise on Beyond starts at just $476 per person, an Iconic Suite on the same cruise will set you back at least $15,000.

Beyond also features Celebrity’s newest room category: AquaClass . These wellness-centered suites include complimentary access to the spa’s hammam (Turkish bath), crystalarium and float room , where guests can “float” in meditative bliss while swinging in basket chairs suspended from the ceiling. (There’s also a salt room and even a space carved out for rainfall water therapy.)

Alluring onboard experiences

What Beyond lacks in waterslides and splash pads it more than makes up for with cantilevered plunge pools and two-story hot tubs in the shape of giant martini glasses on the Resort Deck . The ship’s art is just as eye-catching. For starters, the 75-foot-long (24-yard) main pool fronts a life-size sculpture of a man attempting to balance an elephant on his back. Then there are the NFTs . Beyond is the line's first ship to showcase, and sell, digital masterpieces by the award-winning visual artist Rubem Robierb .

Of course, Beyond also features your cruise ship staples, albeit elevated. It’s the first ship to have boutiques from luxury brands like Stella McCartney, Marni  and La Maison du Chocolat. There’s also a Vegas-style casino , state-of-the-art fitness center – the first to offer F45  high-intensity group workouts at sea – and a rooftop garden with enough plants to warrant having a full-time botanist on board.

Exclusive spaces

If the common areas are too common, passengers willing to pay a little more can retreat to The Retreat . Beyond’s resort-within-a-resort concept boasts its own lounge, restaurant, pool and two-story sundeck – all exclusive spaces reserved for Retreat guests.

Still, the ship’s real VIP is Bug Naked, Captain Kate’s elusive elf sphynx. This hairless, faithful feline (who has more than 59,000 faithful Instagram followers of his own) has sailed by her side for years. Forget Biles and Paltrow; he’s Beyond’s biggest asset. On ships, cats – even black ones – are considered to bring good luck.

The 2022-built Celebrity Beyond cruise ship is the third in a series of five EDGE-class passenger liners - with sisterships Celebrity Edge (2018), Celebrity Apex (2021), Celebrity Ascent (2023) and Celebrity Xcel (2025).

Curiously, Celebrity Apex was initially to be named "Celebrity Beyond", but the name was changed during the vessel's construction.

The vessel (IMO number 9838395) is currently Malta- flagged (MMSI 215808000) and registered in Valletta .

History - construction and ownership

Celebrity Cruises was founded in 1988 as the Greece-based Chandris Line (cruise shipping operations between 1974-1996). In 1997, Royal Caribbean International (RCI) merged with "Celebrity Cruises Ltd" to become "Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd" (RCCL). The "X" on ship funnels is the Greek letter chi (standing for "Chandris").

Common features of Celebrity Cruises ships include aft-located glass-walled dining rooms, signature alternate dining venues, bars and lounges, spacious Atrium lobby areas, a large number of balcony staterooms, large sundecks with swimming pools, The Retreat (adults-only sundeck with full-size swimming pool, Jacuzzi, cabanas, poolside full bar service), Rooftop Terrace (top-deck outdoor lounge-restaurant-cinema), large Spa (with Thermal Suites), premium retail shops selling top-brand merchandise.

The 3300-passenger ship Celebrity Beyond is the 3rd newbuild by "Project Edge" (ship class). These new ships are bigger than Millennium-class but smaller than Solstice-class. The company advertised "small-ship itineraries with large-ship amenities", destination-rich experiences, iconic maritime architecture.

New features (Edge-Class ship design changes)

In comparison to the Edge-class sisterships Apex and Edge, Beyond is longer (20 m / 66 ft), taller (1 deck), with bigger capacity (179 more staterooms), and ~12% larger (GT 140600 tons). Celebrity Beyond also features significant design changes, with added new venues and expanded public spaces.

New venues and spaces on Celebrity Beyond include "Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud" (50-seat specialty restaurant by Daniel Boulud/celebrity chef and restaurant chain owner), redesigned Luminae (Suite-only restaurant designed by Kelly Elaine Hoppen/ South Africa-born British interior designer), redesigned Pool Deck, expanded Rooftop Garden (deck 15/with larger shaded seating areas, 2x infinity pools, bigger Rooftop Grill Bar), twice-larger Sunset Bar (aft on deck 15), larger Retreat (Suite-only bar lounge forward on deck 15).

• The Resort Deck (deck 14) was also redesigned, having a 23-m / 75-ft long lap pool (swimming pool with in-pool chaise loungers) surrounded by a terraced sundeck, The pool deck also features 2-deck high Jacuzzies (martini glass-shaped whirlpool hot tubs), sunken seating areas, a real-size Elephant statue.
• Sunset Bar (decks 15-16) is a 2-deck, Casablanca Morocco -themed outdoor bar lounge (designed by Nate Berkus and Tom Wright/WKK) with a pergola-covered entrance, cascading terraces, covered enclaves, conversation niches.
• The Retreat is a 3-deck-high exclusive (Suites-only) forward-midship located complex with The Retreat Lounge (on deck 15), Lower Sundeck (deck 16, with a glass-roof cover over The Solarium's pool/on deck 14) and The Retreat Sundeck (on deck 17). The Retreat Sundeck is an outdoor area served by The Retreat Bar and offers as amenities cabanas (available for rent), premium furniture (deckchairs, padded loungers, cushioned sofas, daybeds), a round-shaped swimming pool, two plunge pools (cantilevered hot tubs), outdoor showers, restrooms. The Retreat's Edge Villas (2-deck accommodations) were also redesigned.
• Le Voyage Restaurant (capacity 50 seats) is via partnership with Daniel Boulud - Chef-Owner of 7x NYC restaurants plus 6x in other cities. The food menu (developed by the Michelin-starred chef Daniel Boulud) is complemented by a premium wine selection menu and top-quality service by professional sommeliers. Le Voyage Restaurant was designed by Jouin Manku and features Intimate seating cocoons and designer lighting.
• World Class Bar (fleet's first) is via partnership with Diageo plc (1997-founded, London-based beverage alcohol company) which by annual alcohol production volumes was the world's largest distiller until 2017 (when was surpassed by China's Kweichow Moutai Co). World Class Bar is a premium wine bar and cocktail venue served by expert mixologists.

WKK Architects' Tom Wright redesigned and expanded most of the ship's outdoor spaces - including Resort Deck, The Retreat, Rooftop Garden. Resort Deck is ~40% larger than on the ships Apex and Edge.

The 3-deck-high Grand Plaza (open-floor designed midship area) is larger which allowed the Martini Bar to be moved to the venue's center (on Lobby level/deck 2) as a full-circle bar. Grand Plaza's chandelier features a new shape and hundreds of LED lights.

New to the Celebrity cruise ship Beyond are the AquaClass SkySuites, featuring floor-ceiling views, large private terraces, premium bedding and wellness amenities. With the new ship is also introduced a new partnership with Gwyneth Kate Paltrow (1972-born American actress, model, entrepreneur, businesswoman) serving as Celebrity Cruises' "Well-Being Advisor". Since 2022, all Celebrity AquaClass passengers (fleetwide but excluding the Galapagos boats) enjoy complimentary wellness amenities (including fitness kits from Paltrow's goop brand) and custom wellness programming part of the Celebrity's new initiative "Women in Wellness".

Decks and Cabins

Most Celebrity Beyond staterooms are Balcony rooms. Of all the 1646 staterooms, 918 are Edge Staterooms (with Infinite Verandas) and 176 are Suites. All staterooms are fitted with keyless cabin entry technology that uses digital keys (on smartphones), as well as standard keycards and RFID bands.

The boat has 16 decks , of which 15 are passenger-accessible and 10 with cabins.

Shipboard dining options - Food and Drinks

Celebrity Beyond ship offers 32 food and beverage serving venues, including 4 main dining rooms and 6 new-to-Celebrity Cruises specialty restaurants. In total, the cruise ship has 15 restaurants, 5 cafes, 12 bars and lounges.

Passengers in AquaClass staterooms or Suites eat at Blu Restaurant, offering lighter "spa-inspired" cuisine. The Luminae Restaurant is named "Luminae at The Retreat" and (along with Blu) is part of the private, Suite Class passengers exclusive complex "The Retreat". Suite passengers have also the option to eat in the Main Dining Rooms / MDRs (Normandie Restaurant, Tuscan Restaurant, Cosmopolitan Restaurant, Cyprus Restaurant). These 4 complimentary restaurants serve menus inspired by the itinerary/destinations visited. Each restaurant offers regional wines and themed cocktails, dishes made from locally-sourced ingredients, also a rotating menu of Signature dishes for dinner (changing every evening) and a Classic dinner menu. The ship's main restaurants are served by dedicated to each table wait staff (sommelier, assistant waiter, head waiter). Passengers are assigned to one of the 4 MDRs but still have the option (upon request) to dine in the other 3.

Celebrity Beyond offers the company's traditional "Celebrity Select Dining" (your-time dining for dinners) option, which is renamed to "Celebrity Select Dining Plus". Passengers can make reservations in any of the 4 MDRs if they know they want to eat at a specific restaurant and dinner time, or they can simply show up and enjoy dinner on their own time.

In addition to the 4 MDR restaurants, there are plenty of complimentary dining venues, such as Oceanview Cafe (live cooking stations, bakery), Mast Grill (poolside), Spa Cafe & Juice Bar (healthy food and beverages), Eden Cafe (wide variety of breakfast and lunch items). The ship also has two outdoor alfresco seating venues.

The ship has a total of 11 bars and lounges, including Eden, Cafe al Bacio, The Club, Sunset Bar, Theatre Bar, Casino Bar, Martini Bar (at Grand Plaza), Pool Bar, Il Secondo Bacio, The Retreat Bar, The Retreat Lounge.

The ship has a number of for-fee restaurants (at surcharge per person), including Qsine (USD 45 pp), Tuscan Grill (Italian steakhouse, USD 45 pp), Murano (French, USD 45 pp), Lawn Club Grill (DIY steaks, USD 40 pp), Bistro on 5 (creperie, USD 10 pp), The Porch (USD 5 pp, panini restaurant open for breakfast and lunch). At Qsine, passengers can order on iPads, then waiters bring the food in the order of choosing.

Craft Social Bar (debuted on Celebrity Apex) features large selections of premium wines (sold by the glass), craft cocktails and craft beers (50+ brands, including several of the world's rarest). Craft Social Bar is served by certified beer sommeliers.

Shipboard entertainment options - Fun and Sport

Ship's Lawn Deck is equipped with real grass and the vessel has more deck chairs than others, offering a calm atmosphere under the sun. The Celebrity iLounge gives guests computer tutorial classes and is also a representative of Apple, providing access to the most affordable Mac products available at duty-free prices. Another feature of Celebrity Beyond is the AquaSpa Cafe, ideal for a quick lunch after the spa.

Sky Observation Lounge offers live music at sunset, or you can test your luck at Fortune's Casino - there's something to do onboard at any time.

Virtual Concierge app allows booking dinner and spa reservations, drinks ordering, room service, and other services. Smartphone sensors are used to track passengers on the ship in order to improve services based on their location.

Edge-Class ships also have Celebrity fleet's most technologically advanced Theater Lounge spanning on 3 decks. Here are held fleet's largest number of production shows, with the largest number of performing crew on any premium-brand ship.

Theatre Lounge is the fleet's largest and has all 7 stage areas - 3x large and 4x smaller. Theater's main stage is extending (into the audience) and is flanked by 2x directional rotating platforms raising over 2 m (7 ft) above the main stage. Lounge's design and technology also feature 2x rotating spiral staircases, 10x synchronized (mobile) projection screens, 16x video mapping laser projectors, rigging for aerial performances. The Theatre offers 7x new full shows, including Shakespeare-based "A Hot Summer Night's Dream" (with acrobatics), "The Jewelry Box" (technological), "Kaleidoscope" (high-energy music and dance), "Arte" (acrobatics), "Elements" (themed on the five elements/air-water-earth-fire-ether, with "air sculptures" and acrobatic performances), "Stage Door" (musical pre-recorded in The London Palladium Theatre), plus two "Headline Residency" program-based new shows - "Get Up" (pop concert by Black Skull Creative) and "The Purpose" (celebrating the inner self).

"The Club" is another new (dual-purpose) venue with a large dance floor, a stage for live performances, a giant LED screen, and served by its own 2 bars. During the day, The Club offers fun activities and games (including Funovation Laser Maze Challenge, Drone Hunting, laser obstacle course, dance classes, trivia). At night, it transforms into "The Jazz Joint at The Club" (live performances by vocalists, dancers, comedians) and later into the disco nightclub "Undercover at The Club". The nightly program is themed on the US Prohibition era, with a menu offering signature 1920s craft cocktails and aerial saxophonist performances. Andromeda body scanner allows passengers to become someone else for the entire evening. Hypno Cam Experience is a dance party, in which an Ultra HD camera is passed around and all photos are instantly displayed on the LED screen.

Ship's Kids Club offers by the "Camp at Sea" program over 500 complimentary activities for children of all ages. The facility features two (new for the fleet) separate spaces (for kids and teens) called "The Basement".

Celebrity's signature Rooftop Garden (top-deck dining-entertainment bar lounge) offers expanded facilities and show programming (Rooftop Concert Series, Garden Cinema Series, Taste of Film experience under-the-stars, with 5 new live musical performances).

In 2023, Celebrity introduced pickleball playing courts fleetwide. The sports facilities are complimentary, including the pickleball equipment (net, paddles, balls) but operated with separate scheduled playing times for adults and families (with kids older than 6). While on older vessels the pickleball courts are either on the Sports Deck or at the Multi-Sports Court, on the EGDE ships pickleball is played at the Rooftop Garden.

Grand Plaza

The Grand Plaza serves as the ship's epicenter (midship location) and spans 3 decks. The open-floor designed venue mixes modernity and simplicity and was inspired by the charming era of Transatlantic ocean liners. The concept was designed by Jouin Manku Studio.

The unique space has a striking lighting feature - The Chandelier, an art installation rising over Martini Bar (in the Lobby level's center) to the ceiling 3 decks above. It is composed of 5 levels and a total of 765 blades illuminated via dynamic LED strips changing their colors from day to night, The Chandelier weighs 7 tons.

The Grand Plaza houses many of the liner's new specialty restaurants, including Fine Cut Steakhouse and Raw on 5 (Deck 5) Le Grand Bistro and Cafe al Bacio (Deck 4), Grand Plaza Cafe (Deck 3), Italian piazzas. Midship-Deck 3 is the Martini Bar. Adorning the edges of Grand Plaza are hand-stitched mesh screens that combine over 13,500 art pieces made of leather, fabric, and metal.

Grand Plaza's cafes are the perfect choice for "coffee breaks" - from morning cappuccino to afternoon tea and pre-dinner cocktails - while enjoying live entertainment. In the evenings, Grand Plaza transforms into the ship's social hub with live music performances.

During the day, "Le Grand Bistro" (in the Atrium on Deck 4) operates as patisserie and cafeteria serving French cuisine. In the evenings, Le Grand Bistro transforms into "Le Petite Chef" - new dining-entertainment concept via an exclusive partnership with TableMation Studios (US multimedia company) and Skullmapping (a 2010-founded collective of filmmakers and visual artists). The dinner experience includes visual mapping technology with animated 3D characters projected (from above) onto tables and on plates. The VIP dining is at a fixed surcharge. It costs USD 25 pp (Le Grand Bistro) and USD 55 pp (Le Petite Chef).

Eden Lounge

Eden is a 3-deck high (aft-location on decks 4, 5, 6) lounge-bar-restaurant venue with live music and shows programming changing throughout the day. Eden Lounge measures 10439 m3 (368640 ft3) and covers a total area of 1175 m2 (12650 ft2).

The lounge has an outward-facing design and combines a signature gastronomic experience (light lunch, 5-course dinner, wine tastings) with live performances, daily lectures, promo events. The lounge has alfresco dining areas on both its sides. In the evening, the lounge transforms into "Eve at Eden", with more provocative entertainment (fusion of performance art, dining, and nightlife.

The Eden Restaurant is part of the lounge. The Eden Bar serves food and drinks including hand-crafted cocktails.

The lounge's 90-m / 295 ft long ramp envelops the entire space and provides panoramic views. The lounge's unconventional furniture and interiors are designed by Patricia Urquiola (Spain). She also designed the lounge's "Library of Plants" (living garden) and the hanging plant pillars. Lounge's designer is Scott Butler (Wilson Butler Architects, Boston MA). The evening show programming is by Variety Worldwide (NYC New York).

"The Meeting Place" is named the ship's Conference Center (sized 183 m2 / 1970 ft2). This large meeting room is designed by Wilson Butler Architects (Boston MA) and provides advanced audio-visual equipment, varied seating arrangements, private office (event planning space), as well as mobile bars (for food and beverages) and a fully equipped pantry.

Magic Carpet ("outdoor elevator lounge")

A unique feature of the Celebrity Cruises EDGE-class ships is the "Magic Carpet" - a glass structure (glass-roofed, cantilevered platform) the size of a tennis court, able to traverse 14 stories, like a large elevator.

Mounted on the ship's starboard side, the open-air Magic Carpet offers stunning ocean views, comfortable seating, full bar, a stage for live music performances, This "traveling venue" changes its theme, function, and location by extending from Deck 2 up to Deck 16.

Passengers can't simply ride on the Magic Carpet (using it as an elevator). In each location, the "moving lounge" is safely locked, then guests are allowed to step onboard. While repositioning, the venue is without any passengers. Some of its furniture is fixed.

The structure repositions and transforms into a new venue depending on which deck is locked.

• When positioned on Deck 16 (above pool deck), it becomes a specialty restaurant offering the unique "Dinner on the Edge" alfresco dining under the stars.
• When positioned on Resort Deck 14 (in front of the cabanas), it becomes an extension of the pool deck area, also offering live music performances.
• When positioned on Dining Deck 5, it becomes a specialty restaurant - alfresco dining appendix to the ship's main dining room restaurant.
• When positioned on Tendering Deck 2, it becomes an extension of the Destination Gateway (embarkation station serving ship's tender operations). Destination Gateway boarding area is dedicated to the so-called "Edge Launches" - luxurious passenger tendering ashore, providing seamless embarkation and disembarkation in all ports of call along the cruise itinerary. This spacious area is fitted with large LCD screens (displaying destination, itinerary and port highlights), comfortable seating (capacity 130 seats), air-conditioning.

"Destination Getaway" is a dedicated embarkation point when the platform is positioned at its lowest level (Tendering Deck 2).

Magic Carpet's repositioning schedule is published daily.

Itineraries

Celebrity Beyond itinerary program started with an inaugural season in Europe (2022), followed by the Caribbean deployment (winter 2022-2023).

The Maiden Voyage left from Southampton (England UK) on April 27th (2022). The 10-night "Western Europe" (Atlantic coastal relocation itinerary/RepositioningCruises.com) visited ports in France; Portugal, and Spain, ending in Barcelona. Prices started from USD 2450 per person (with double occupancy).

The inaugural Mediterranean season in 2022 (May 7 thru Oct 12) was based on 9-night (themed "Italy and France", "France, Italy and Spain") and 10-night (themed "Italy and Greek Isles", "Greek Isles and Malta") roundtrips from homeports Barcelona and Civitavecchia-Rome .

On October 12, 2022, started the Transatlantic repositioning crossing ("Spain, France and Canaries" itinerary) from Europe to the Caribbean-USA, followed by the homeporting in Fort Lauderdale (Port Everglades, Florida) .

The Caribbean season 2022 started with the 9-night "Southern Caribbean" inaugural cruise (departing on Oct 26th).

Celebrity Beyond Wiki

EDGE-Class ships were designed via an exclusive partnership with Nate Berkus - US interior designer establishing his own company at the age of 24.

On January 29, 2020, started the vessel's construction with the steel-cutting ceremony at STX France (Chantiers de l'Atlantique Shipyard) in St Nazaire, France . The ceremony was attended by Lisa Lutoff-Perlo (Celebrity's President and CEO) and Laurent Castaing (Shipyard's General Manager).

On April 11, 2019, the shipowner RCCL (Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd) signed an MoU agreement with Chantiers de l'Atlantique for a 5th EDGE-class unit ( Xcel ) which is currently scheduled for delivery in 2025-Q4.

The vessel's physical construction (STX France yard number/hull L34) officially started with the keel-laying ceremony held on November 19, 2020, at Chantiers de l'Atlantique Shipyard. The special event was attended by Richard Fain (Royal Caribbean Group's Chairman), Lisa Lutoff-Perlo (Celebrity's President and CEO), Tobias King (Celebrity's Project Manager), Laurent Castaing (shipbuilder's General Manager), Sebastien Le Boulluec (shipbuilder's Project Manager Edge Series).

The vessel was launched (floated out from drydock) on March 31, 2021. Sea trials (in Biscay Bay/Atlantic Ocean) were successfully completed on February 5-6, 2022, being overseen by 50+ shipyard technicians and crew led by Captain McCue.

On October 14, 2021, Lisa Lutoff-Perlo announced that the ship's Master will be Captain Kate McCue. In 2015, she became the first American female to captain a cruise ship (Celebrity Summit). In the following years, she also captained the Celebrity ships Equinox and Edge (2019-2020).

Celebrity Beyond was officially delivered on April 5, 2022. The ceremony was attended by Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, Laurent Castaing, as well as by Jason Liberty (RCG-Royal Caribbean Group’s new President and CEO).

On May 12, 2022, was announced the name of the ship's godmother - Simone Biles Owens (1997-born as Simone Arianne Biles, American artistic gymnast, hometown Spring TX USA). As of 2022, she has 32x Championship medals (including 7x Olympic and 19x World), ranking her as the world's most decorated and one of the greatest gymnasts of all time.

The christening ceremony was on November 4, 2022, held in Port Everglades/Fort Lauderdale . The naming event was led Simone Biles and attended by the ship's Master (Captain Kate McCue), Jason Liberty and Lisa Lutoff-Perlo.

The ATP men’s tennis tour’s 2025 calendar includes expanded events in Canada and Cincinnati

LONDON (AP) — The Masters 1000 tournaments in Canada and Cincinnati will increase to 12 days each next season, and events in Dallas, Doha and Munich will be upgraded to the 500 level as part of changes announced Friday when the ATP Tour released its 2025 calendar for men’s tennis.

The calendar reveal comes as tennis is at something of a crossroads, with proposals to alter the way the sport is organized being discussed by its leaders.

The London-based ATP will have 60 tournaments in 29 countries next year.

Other changes include moving the Hamburg Open from July to May, shifting the event in Los Cabos from February to July, and switching the Cordoba Open to Mallorca, Spain, as part of the lead-in to Wimbledon.

The Estoril tournament is no longer part of the calendar, but the tour said it will “try to find a solution for the highly regarded event to take place in 2025, and beyond.”

The National Bank Open in Canada and the Cincinnati Open follow the Masters 1000 tournaments in Rome, Madrid and Shanghai in stretching to 12 days. That other trio all expanded in 2023. It means that as of next season, seven of the nine ATP Masters events will last nearly two weeks instead of one.

Alicia Keys Details Son Genesis' Wholesome Reunion with Taylor Swift: 'Is She Gonna Remember Me?'

The singer recalled her son meeting Swift at the 'Eras Tour' in 2023, years after they first met at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards

Some people want it all, but Alicia Keys ' son Genesis just wanted to meet Taylor Swift again!

During a Friday night appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon , Keys, 43, described what it was like to raise a Swiftie in her and Swizz Beatz 's youngest son.

As she explained, the 9-year-old first met Swift when he was younger at the 2019 iHeartRadio Music Awards, as he was seated next to the musician. In a video shared by host Jimmy Fallon , Genesis could be seen playfully waving at the 34-year-old "Karma" singer while his mom was on stage giving a speech.

"He was flirting. ... I was pouring my heart out about all my thank you's, and he's [waving at Swift]," Keys joked.

Keys then mentioned a time when Genesis got to hang out with Swift during an Eras Tour stop in August 2023. At the time, Keys applauded Swift on Instagram for her "big beautiful spirit that makes everyone feel loved."

"They met up again recently, and he was like, 'Is she gonna remember me?' And it was a whole thing," Keys said on The Tonight Show . "He was like, 'She knew me since I was three, right, mom?' "

The encounter went smoothly, as Keys shared behind-the-scenes footage of Genesis getting both a kiss on the cheek and a touching note from his idol.

Genesis' fandom extends beyond Swift, too, as he's also a big fan of Billie Eilish , Keys revealed on The Tonight Show. Keys said Genesis even attempted to convince his mom to let him leave her a voice message at one point.

"He just asked me every single day, 'Mom can I please leave her a voice message?' And I'm like, 'I don't know.' Like, what kind of voice message are you gonna leave her? He was like, 'I'm just gonna say, like, ... I would like to be friends and I really like her music.' And so he leaves her this whole message after harassing me for days and days on end," Keys laughed. "And then he continued to harass me [about] if she wrote him a message back."

"And so every night I couldn't go to sleep, he wakes me up in the morning," she added. "In the nighttime, he won't go to sleep. 'Did she write me? Did she write me? Did she write me? Did she leave me a message?' She left him a message. Can you believe it? It was so sweet. ... Big love to Billie and Taylor."

While Eilish's message to Genesis wasn't shared on air, Swift's message to Genesis during his August Eras Tour visit took him by surprise. In a handwritten note, Swift wrote that she was "so excited" when she found out he was attending the show, and referred to him as her "friend."

"I hope you have so much fun at the show," Swift wrote. "And I'll be waving at you. Love, Taylor."

In response, Genesis shared a message of his own for Swift via his mom's social media: "I loved your show and I'm happy that I got to meet you again."
