  • Accessibility:  Accessibility varies between operators. It's always best to check with the specific cruise company beforehand if you have mobility concerns. Inquire about wheelchair ramps, accessible restrooms, and designated seating areas.
  • Food and Drink Restrictions:  While some cruises allow you to bring your own food and drinks, others might have restrictions. Check the operator's website or call them directly to avoid any surprises.
  • Dress for the Thames, not the Thames weather:  Pack layers! London's weather is notoriously fickle. A light rain jacket, a scarf, and sunglasses (even in cloudy skies) are your allies. If it's a scorcher, a hat and sunscreen are essential. Opt for comfy shoes – you might be tempted to explore once you disembark.
  • Pick Your Pier Wisely:  Consider your cruise's direction. Greenwich Pier offers a glimpse into maritime history, while Westminster Pier puts you near Big Ben. Research your starting point for nearby restaurants or pubs for a pre-cruise bite.
  • Befriend the Ferry: Many piers are also ferry stops. Arrive early and explore the opposite bank for a unique vantage point before boarding. Snap a photo across the river, then hop on when your cruise arrives for a dramatic "changing sides" entrance.
  • Pack like a seasoned traveler:  Bring a reusable water bottle and a tote bag. Plastic is a foe on the Thames! Pack snacks if you're on a longer cruise, but don't forget – most cruises offer food and drinks for purchase. Cameras are a must, and binoculars add an extra layer of swashbuckling fun!

Before the trip the guide contacted me because 1. Windsor Castile is not open so we can only come and go —- totally waste of time and disappointed when we get there at 5:10pm 2.It said we did not book the tickets in advance for Stonehenge and Bath, I thought we can buy at the visitor center , oh well, and said I need to pay his tickets also! He is the member so he is FREE! He charged me $340 for the tickets which it might cost me $120 or less if I buy my own at the visitor center 3. Trip should started at 9am, they are late till 9:30am although he told me they are late because of traffic . Time still fix for 9 hours trip , if we over 9 hours , we need to pay additional cost ? What if traffic jam took two hours ? Why only benefit for them? They are in charge of everything. Dishonesty. Not recommended for this trip. Save your money and don’t let them deceived you tickets at least. Read more Written June 14, 2023

  • 657plb 0 contributions 1.0 of 5 bubbles Hidden fees, very negative aggressive Two days before our tour we received a text to confirm and provide a link to purchase entry tickets for entry into Kensington Palace and Hampton court. According to the websites for each place, the tickets are £26.50 and £20 respectively. The text provided a link to viplondontour and asked us to pay a total of £170. When we challenged this amount (there are 2 of us) we were advised that we are also paying the tickets for the guide. This was not what we were told when we booked the tour. The person or persons texting us even told us it would cost them more money for us to cancel than if we paid the additional fees. When I pointed out that buying 3 tickets to each place was still less than their invoice, I was ignored. We cancelled and were told we could not cancel and we needed to pay the invoice. I have contacted our travel agent as well as the local tourism office in London. It feels like a scam to us. Read more Written August 1, 2022
