This bustling spot has very good good with quasi comfortable seating (unless you are among the chosen few to grab a booth). I highly recommend to spicy shrimp flatbread. The wine choices are pleasing too.

After two years of cancelled business trips because of COVID, I was finally able to return to Spokane for a worldwide conference. I was unable to book a room here, but most of my colleagues did. That's why everyone knew my name. I did end... up coming here three separate nights for a drink before or a drink after dinner elsewhere as well as the opening social. The Safari Room is always a pleasant atmosphere with a quality waitstaff. I had Caleb twice and Jason once. All in all, I dropped over $100.00 bucks during the three visits, but it was well wort it. I was a bit dismayed they were no longer offering their great pizzas as part of happy hour due to COVID. It is time to bring that back! More

Absolutely love the happy hour here ! Half off all libations and half off their amazing flatbreads!! Get here at 4 as it gets crowded . They also have a nice pork sandwich and Burger for late night . They serve great lunches and excellent... dinners as well . Service always a 10 ! Prices really not bad !! It's a very nice ,upscale hotel hangout! More

Absolutely the driest ribs ever...like cardboard...and no sauce until we asked for it. Brisket tasted like sauce out of a jar was poured over it on the way to the table. Cole slaw with NO dressing was explained as “lightly dressed”. Lesson learned. If you... want good barbecue, don’t go to a luxury hotel for it. Or at least this one. More

We stayed at this hotel for the night and stopped in for appetizers at the Safari room. Be aware of the hidden fees when spending the night here ( Davenport Tower). Extremely high prices for pita with hardly anything on it and server was hard... pressed to give us attention. More

My husband and I have now opted to not stay at any Davenport hotels - or at least not dine at them. We came here for drinks and it was easier for the server to tell me what they had instead of what they were... out of. It also took an hour and a half to get drinks and an app. The lady that was our server was a little older and brash. When I chose to drink water instead of wine (because they were out of all the ones I wanted) she kept trying To sell me on more and more and every time she came to the table she told me to order a drink. Our server also discussed poor management and owners with us, it just killed our vibe. More

I booked reservations for 2/9 @ 6pm, 2 months in advance for Valentine's Day at the Palm Court Grill at the Davenport Hotel. We were seated in a ridiculous, tiny table that was clearly placed there because of overbooking. It was half in bar, half... in dining room and in the middle of a walk way. We were constantly banged into by careless staff and patrons walking by. The area near the bar where our make shift table was was unbearably loud. There was a 15+ party seated fairly close to us who was behaving obnoxious. They were loud, vulgar, yelling, applauding all night. Complaints to staff generated no results to resolve the noise. After ordering and the appetizer came out, we were left unattended for 1 hour. When dinner came, it wasn't our order! After complaints, dinner was brought again 10 minutes later. This time dinner was cold and obviously had been sitting for some time. I believe our waitress was doing her best but was at the mercy of poor planning, efficiency, and poor management. The manager was summoned by the waitress after the meals arrived cold. The Manager stated. "Well what what do you ME to do about it?" Seriously? I want you to fix it and drop the attitude! We spent $150 on dinner for 2. I expect better than bad attitudes and service for that kind of money. Won't be back, EVER! More

Very popular spot. Had a reservation and we were seated spot on time. Place was a madhouse with everything going on downtown, but service was excellent and amazingly quick for such a busy time......Saturday/happy hour/holiday madness. Flatbread and crab salad!!!

Went April, 2016, for dinner with 18 y.o. son. I liked that this wasn't a fast food or overly casual...or overly formal...place. I wanted to sit, have an adult beverage, yet needed a menu to appeal to both my son and I. This fit the... bill. The décor is lovely, very well put together, and added to the restaurant experience. The service was fantastic, nice greeting, friendly waitress, prompt service. The restaurant menu has a bent towards Southern food (Okra! Grits! BBQ! Fried chicken!) but also offers flatbreads, pasta, and a lovely salmon, among other entrees. My son ordered the BBQ plate, and I had the salmon. Let me say...we own a smoker. My son and hubby have been to a BBQ class, and we know how to treat meats: inject, rub, smoke, you name it. Regardless of our home efforts, my son went nuts over the ribs. I had a couple of bites, too, for quality control. Wonderful. The BBQ sauce on the side was also notable. Son even liked the side of bbq beans. The fried okra was...meh. Still, other flavors on the plate put this on the "exceptional" list. My salmon was also good, Rice & haricots verts sides tasty. I did order my "adult beverage", only to discover the ENTIRE PAGE OF THE COCKTAIL MENU was offered as ... doubles. Yikes! I would recommend this restaurant for adult couples, or for families, it can go both ways. Truly some of the worst service I have ever experienced. Wait staff was not at all accommodating and had no interest in us being there. They appeared irritated by us and other customers trying to get a table. Some members of our party were seated... but we all ended up leaving before even ordering because of the appalling service. A complete disappointment. More

This restaurant is located in the Davenport tower in Spokane. The restaurant is nice enough, open air to the rest of the hotel, but the food was lacking in flavor. We ate two meals the with a gift certificate and neither was stellar. The food... was fine and the portions large enough, but just not what I would have expected from a five star hotel. More

If you dine in the Safari bar and grill in the Davenport Tower, I hope you are lucky enough to have HUNTER as your server !! We can honestly say he had such a Pleasant smile and spirit. We watched him interact with other diners,... I don’t believe I saw him without a smile on his face the entire time we were in the restaurant portion of the bar and grill. He put together a side of salmon with a Caesar salad with roasted vegetables. It wasn’t on the menu but based on our thoughts that was what he came up with. The salmon was absolutely delicious moist tender not over cooked. The food was great but I would come back just to have Hunter serve us!! More

Fist and chips: heavily breaded and was crisp, crunchy and overcooked. Got green bean instead of the fries; beans were good. Our waitress was excellent. Food was average. Happy hour was nice, though with the discounted drinks.

Rolled into Spokane to watch some basketball and at 10pm there’s little to find open to satisfy that appetite that builds on a Delta flight from Minneapolis. Almonds en route just don’t cut it. Hotel lobby bar? ugh, not usually a good bet but at... this time of night and no options obvious to this traveller I settle in at the bar. Jared the bartender is friendly and the place is jumping! The sliders I ask? he says yes but if I was hungry try the cheeseburger. I follow what proves to be sage advice. It’s amazing. Full stop. Thin cut fries ( ? thick potatoes wedges, please, I’d order a baked potato if O wanted that experience. these are MacDonalds thin and almost as good-sorry Davenport). The burger however is ok another level-perfectly dine ( Jared asked, and winced, when I said well done-who needs an E. coli crisis in the states with these health care costs?) late night noah needed in Spokane? Dare to explore the hotel bar at the Davenport Tower Safari room and grab the cheeseburger and fries ( and a locally brewed beer)-you’ll go to bed happy. More

This bustling spot has very good good with quasi comfortable seating (unless you are among the chosen few to grab a booth). I highly recommend to spicy shrimp flatbread. The wine choices are pleasing too.

After two years of cancelled business trips because of COVID, I was finally able to return to Spokane for a worldwide conference. I was unable to book a room here, but most of my colleagues did. That's why everyone knew my name. I did end... up coming here three separate nights for a drink before or a drink after dinner elsewhere as well as the opening social. The Safari Room is always a pleasant atmosphere with a quality waitstaff. I had Caleb twice and Jason once. All in all, I dropped over $100.00 bucks during the three visits, but it was well wort it. I was a bit dismayed they were no longer offering their great pizzas as part of happy hour due to COVID. It is time to bring that back! More

Absolutely love the happy hour here ! Half off all libations and half off their amazing flatbreads!! Get here at 4 as it gets crowded . They also have a nice pork sandwich and Burger for late night . They serve great lunches and excellent... dinners as well . Service always a 10 ! Prices really not bad !! It's a very nice ,upscale hotel hangout! More

Absolutely the driest ribs ever...like cardboard...and no sauce until we asked for it. Brisket tasted like sauce out of a jar was poured over it on the way to the table. Cole slaw with NO dressing was explained as “lightly dressed”. Lesson learned. If you... want good barbecue, don’t go to a luxury hotel for it. Or at least this one. More

We stayed at this hotel for the night and stopped in for appetizers at the Safari room. Be aware of the hidden fees when spending the night here ( Davenport Tower). Extremely high prices for pita with hardly anything on it and server was hard... pressed to give us attention. More

My husband and I have now opted to not stay at any Davenport hotels - or at least not dine at them. We came here for drinks and it was easier for the server to tell me what they had instead of what they were... out of. It also took an hour and a half to get drinks and an app. The lady that was our server was a little older and brash. When I chose to drink water instead of wine (because they were out of all the ones I wanted) she kept trying To sell me on more and more and every time she came to the table she told me to order a drink. Our server also discussed poor management and owners with us, it just killed our vibe. More

I booked reservations for 2/9 @ 6pm, 2 months in advance for Valentine's Day at the Palm Court Grill at the Davenport Hotel. We were seated in a ridiculous, tiny table that was clearly placed there because of overbooking. It was half in bar, half... in dining room and in the middle of a walk way. We were constantly banged into by careless staff and patrons walking by. The area near the bar where our make shift table was was unbearably loud. There was a 15+ party seated fairly close to us who was behaving obnoxious. They were loud, vulgar, yelling, applauding all night. Complaints to staff generated no results to resolve the noise. After ordering and the appetizer came out, we were left unattended for 1 hour. When dinner came, it wasn't our order! After complaints, dinner was brought again 10 minutes later. This time dinner was cold and obviously had been sitting for some time. I believe our waitress was doing her best but was at the mercy of poor planning, efficiency, and poor management. The manager was summoned by the waitress after the meals arrived cold. The Manager stated. "Well what what do you ME to do about it?" Seriously? I want you to fix it and drop the attitude! We spent $150 on dinner for 2. I expect better than bad attitudes and service for that kind of money. Won't be back, EVER! More

Very popular spot. Had a reservation and we were seated spot on time. Place was a madhouse with everything going on downtown, but service was excellent and amazingly quick for such a busy time......Saturday/happy hour/holiday madness. Flatbread and crab salad!!!

Went April, 2016, for dinner with 18 y.o. son. I liked that this wasn't a fast food or overly casual...or overly formal...place. I wanted to sit, have an adult beverage, yet needed a menu to appeal to both my son and I. This fit the... bill. The décor is lovely, very well put together, and added to the restaurant experience. The service was fantastic, nice greeting, friendly waitress, prompt service. The restaurant menu has a bent towards Southern food (Okra! Grits! BBQ! Fried chicken!) but also offers flatbreads, pasta, and a lovely salmon, among other entrees. My son ordered the BBQ plate, and I had the salmon. Let me say...we own a smoker. My son and hubby have been to a BBQ class, and we know how to treat meats: inject, rub, smoke, you name it. Regardless of our home efforts, my son went nuts over the ribs. I had a couple of bites, too, for quality control. Wonderful. The BBQ sauce on the side was also notable. Son even liked the side of bbq beans. The fried okra was...meh. Still, other flavors on the plate put this on the "exceptional" list. My salmon was also good, Rice & haricots verts sides tasty. I did order my "adult beverage", only to discover the ENTIRE PAGE OF THE COCKTAIL MENU was offered as ... doubles. Yikes! I would recommend this restaurant for adult couples, or for families, it can go both ways. HAPPY HOUR SPOKANE – THE SAFARI ROOM AT THE DAVENPORT TOWER

A good happy hour can be hard to come by, but the Safari Room in the Davenport Tower has you covered.

Half price on all alcoholic drinks AND half priced flatbreads? Sign us up!

You typically wouldn’t gravitate to a hotel bar for happy hour, but Spokane likes to break those boundaries and surprise us in so many (great) ways. To make this even sweeter, the Tower offers complimentary valet parking. That’s right, you don’t even have to deal with downtown street parking!

When you first walk into the Safari Room, you’ll notice that it really lives up to its name. There are animals and animal prints everywhere, but it’s just the right amount of safari.

All of their cocktails are made as doubles, and they even have signature drinks to match their theme! We recommend the Mango Tango if you’re looking for a fun, fruity cocktail.

If you’re like us and you crave food whenever you go to a restaurant/bar, then you have to try the flatbreads. There are five delicious options: Tomato Pesto, Spicy Shrimp Tomato Pesto, Thai Chicken, Mushroom Fontina and Pepperoni/Italian Sausage. All of them are only around $6 to $7!

But, if you are craving a little bit more, they do offer a full menu with a range of options.

The Safari Room is well known to the locals and serves as a great spot to start a fun night out or grab a quick drink. Happy hour is every day from 4-6pm, but we recommend getting there a little early because it does fill up!
