At a distance of 60 km from Rajahmundry, 180 km from Vijayawada, 20 km from Polavaram, 260 km from Vizag & 410 km from Hyderabad, Papi Kondalu is a breathtakingly beautiful hill range bounded by River Godavari in the state of Andhra Pradesh. Papi hills are a set of three hills which form a beautiful gorge on the Godavari River spread across East Godavari and West Godavari districts. Entire area of Papi Kondalu is covered by tropical rain forests and it was recently declared as a protected National Park and is one of the top places to experience the Tourism in Andhra Pradesh . Papikondalu is one of the top attractions you must include in Vizag tour packages . The original name for this hill range was 'Papidi Kondalu'. Papidi is a rough translation for partition in Telugu. It is believed that the place was visited by Lord Rama and goddess Sita during their exile. Papi Kondalu has to be reached by boat from Rajahmundry, Pattisam (35 km from Rajahmundry), Polavaram (40 km from Rajahmundry), Kunavaram (50 km from Bhadrachalam ) or Sriram Giri (60 km from Bhadrachalam). The boat service from Rajahmundry to Bhadrachalam is a wonderful experience and it is operated in post monsoon season. Apart from enjoying the view of the hills, valley and waterfalls, tourists can engage in activities like camping and trekking. There are several sights that fall on the way like Perantallapalli, Gandipochamma Temple and Pattiseema. Several tribal communities have made their dwellings on these hills whose main occupation is agriculture, fishing and making handicrafts. There is a waterfall at Munivaatam that is a popular tourist attraction. The boat rides usually include full-day trips starting from Rajahmundry/ Pattisam / Polavaram / Kunavaram / Sriram Giri with break at Perantallapalli and back. Both AP Tourism and Private operators offer these tours from Rajahmundry. There are also one-way trips between Rajahmundry/ Pattisam/Polavaram and Kunavaram/Sriram Giri. There are few private operators who offer 2 day trips from Rajahmundry with overnight stay at Kollur Bamboo Resort. Trips usually start early morning between 6 to 9 AM. One has to book the boat and the huts in advance through tourist agencies or AP Tourism. The Rajahmundry Airport at Madhurapudi (70 km away) has limited domestic services from Chennai , Madurai, Vijayawada, Bangalore and Hyderabad. Rajahmundry is well connected to other neighboring cities of Andhra Pradesh & Telangana by road and rail. It has trains from Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Vizag , Chennai, Bangalore, Mumbai, Bilaspur, Trivandrum, Kochi, Kakinada, Nagercoil, Bhubaneswar, Tirupati, Puri, Kolkata, etc. The city has 4 bus stations. The main APSRTC Bus complex is located on the Morampudi Road. The other three bus stands are Kotipalli Bus Stand in Innispet, Gokavaram Bus Stand in Aryapuram, and the Kakinada Bus Stand near Kambalcheruvu. It is connected by bus with Chennai, Bangalore, Vizag, Tirupati and Hyderabad. The best time to visit Papi Kondalu is from October to January while the Peak Season is from November to December. Usually Papikondalu is visited from Rajahmundry as a day trip or two day trip with night stay at Kollur Camp.

Perantalapalli is a remote tribal village in Velerupadu mandal of West Godavari district. This village is located on Kunavaram-Rajahmundry water way and it can be reached by 10 minutes boat ride from Kolluru. Most of the boats operating to Papi Kondalu stop here to give tourists a chance to enjoy the beauty of the place. The Sri Krishna Munivatam was constructed at this village by Balananda Swamiji in the year 1927. Now this Munivatam is being maintained by a tribal sect Konda Reddys and daily pooja are being performed by them. According to the history, in 1926, Balananda Swami had reached Perantalapalli village while travelling from Rajahmundry to Bhadrachalam on river Godavari in a motor launch and stayed here for a night. He was captivated by the pleasant atmosphere, the tribal community, the scenic beauty of this region. Then a lady appeared to him and asked him to follow her. .....

At a distance of 35 km from Rajahmundry & 30 km from Papikondalu, Pattisam, also known as Pattiseema, is a beautiful place located on the banks of river Godavari in West Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. It is situated between Rajahmundry and Papikondalu and can be reached by road and boat from Rajahmundry. There are two temples in Pattisam, Sri Veerabhadra Swamy, dedicated to Lord Shiva and Sri Bhava Narayana Swamy dedicated to Lord Vishnu. This temple is one of the Panchakasi Kshetras. The other four temples are at Kedarnath, Kashi, Kalahasti and Srisailam . Sri Veerabhadra Swamy or Sri Veereswara Swamy Temple is located on Devakuta Hill in the middle of the River Godavari. The temple was bulit by Cholas in 11th Century AD and it was reconstructed by Raja Kocherlakota Jaggaiah in 19th Century. He donated 1900 acres of land to this .....

DAY 1 TOUR SCHEDULE

• 7.30 AM to 8.30 AM Road journey by vehicle from Rajamahendravaram to Pattiseema revu / Polavaram revu / Purushothapatnam revu
• 9.00 AM Break fast in the Luxury Boat, then journey starts on River Godavari
• 10.30 AM Reaches Posammagandi village. Darshan Goddes Posamma. then journey towards Papikondalu.
• 11:00 AM Boat journey. via Devipatnam, while on boat view demolishing old Police Station at the time of British rule, the said Police station was attacked alongwith other two situated in different remote agency areas at Y'ramavaram and Addateegala by Freedom Fighter Mr. Alluri Seetharama Raju by giving advance intimation through "Mirchi Tapa"
• 1:00 PM Veg. Lunch in the Boat while on journey.
• 2:00 PM Reach Papi hills which are three in number situated like a wall in the middle of River godavari separating districts EAST, WEST and KHAMMAM, enjoy scenic beauty.
• 3:00 PM Reaches Perantapalli village of Khammam district. Visit "Ramakrishna muni vatika which was established by Late Poojya Swamiji Balananda Saraswathi during 1927 then darshan of Swayambu Lingakara Sri Veereswara Swamy.
• 3:30 PM Journey by Tribal boat .
• 5:00 PM Reaches Pochavaram village. Boat journey over.
• 6:00 PM Journey by Non A/C. Vehicle to Bhadhrachalam.
• 8.30 PM Reach Bhadrachalam and allotment of Non A/c deluxe rooms then vegetarian dinner

DAY 2 TOUR SCHEDULE

• 5.30 AM Visit Bhadrachalam temple and darshan of Lord Rama.
• 6:30 AM Journey by road and reaches Heritage, Parnasala 35 KM
• 7:30AM Darshan of Lord Rama and local sight seeing viz., Srirama Simhasanam, Sithammavari Naracheeralu etc.,
• 8:30 AM Return to Bhadrachalam.
• 9:30 AM Break fast then room check out.
• 10:00 AM By road journey to Jangareddigudem.(via) Kukkunuru, Ashwaraopeta.
