Oman Tourism College runs a one year General Foundations Programme (GFP) designed to prepare Omani high school graduates to enter the college’s various programmes in Tourism and Hospitality, where the medium of instruction is English. All classes are coed and are taught by both male and female instructors. Students are pleasant and cooperative. After the GFP students can study many different tourism and hospitality subjects.

Ministry of Heritage and Tourism organizes job fairs for graduates of Oman Tourism College

Muscat: The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) organized today, at the Oman Tourism College, the third job fair for  the Oman Tourism College, with the participation of 35 companies.

During the exhibition, 141 job opportunities were offered in various fields in the tourism sector in the Sultanate of Oman.

The organization of the exhibition comes with the aim of intensifying initiatives aimed at enhancing the provision of employment opportunities for Omani job seekers from the outputs of the heritage and tourism sectors, and encouraging institutions in the sector to display the jobs available to them according to the needs of their facilities in various job specializations.

In OCT, the General Foundation program is an intensive English Language and study skills course aligning students’ English proficiency with undergraduate program requirements. Successful completion sets a minimum IELTS standard of 5.0 and includes IT, math, and general academic skills. It adheres to the General Foundation standards established by the Ministry of Higher Education and the Oman Academic Accreditation Agency.

The BSc (Hons) in Tourism Marketing, a four-year program (full-time or part-time), emphasizes international competitiveness and tourist destination development in Oman. It equips students with operational and strategic insight into tourism marketing.

The campus consists of two primary teaching blocks. The main building houses diploma and bachelor’s programs, faculty offices, and administrative facilities, while the second block accommodates the Foundation program and teaching faculty.

The institute has 24 Classrooms equipped for interactive learning. Eight well-equipped computer labs foster technological proficiency. It also has a hub for students to gather, relax, and refuel. Three adaptable ballroom spaces are allotted for practical training. A modern library is present as a comprehensive resource center. Featuring simulation labs and specialized rooms are provided for hospitality training. Six well-appointed training kitchens are there, in addition to one bulk kitchen.

Furthermore, the college provides separate hostels for male and female students, offering a comfortable and secure living environment. These accommodations facilitate a conducive atmosphere for focused study and personal growth.

Learning resources abound, with 38 computers offering internet access, a computer lab with 12 computers, and campus-wide Wi-Fi. Individual study and meeting rooms are available for students’ convenience, along with training classrooms that can be reserved.
