FC Barcelona return to the United States for preseason tour

The FC Barcelona men’s first team will repeat the last season’s destination and travel once again to the United States for their preseason tour, BARÇA ON TOUR: US 2023, in which they will play a total of four matches, all against European opposition. The first two games will be played in California; 22 July against Juventus in Santa Clara, San Francisco Bay Area, and on 26 July against Arsenal FC. The last two games will take place in Dallas Texas, for the clash with Real Madrid on 29 July and in Las Vegas where the tour will conclude with a game against AC Milan.

The US Summer Tour 2022 saw the Barça play on the East Coast with games in Miami and New York – as well as games in Las Vegas and Dallas – cities which hosted the majority of the Club’s institutional and social activities. This year the geographical emphasis has shifted to the West Coast where the majority of the Club’s activities will take place and where they will play three of their four scheduled games.

mini_3200x2000_web

The blaugranes’ debut on the tour will come on 22 July against Juventus in the Levis Stadium, Santa Clara in San Francisco, home of the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers. It will be the third time that Barça have played at the venue which has room for 68,000 fans following matches against Manchester United in 2015 and AC Milan in 2018. The most recent encounter between Barça and Juventus came in a friendly last season on tour, the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

The other games in California will come against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side on 26 July in the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Los Angeles, a venue opened in 2020 with a capacity of 70,000 and the ground where the Los Angeles Chargers and Los Angeles Rams of the NFL play their home matches. The fixture between the two sides will be their first in seven seasons, the last meeting having come in the last sixteen of the UEFA Champions League in 2016 in which Barça won 2-0 in London and 3-1 at Spotify Camp Nou. The game will also be the first on American soil between the two clubs.

Another Clásico in Arlington, Texas

The summer tour this year will also include one of the most awaited matches for the fans, the Clásico, the third meeting between Barça and Real Madrid in the USA. He game will take place at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas which has a capacity of 80,000 and is home to the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys. The venue is one that Barça have visited twice previously; in 2011 against Manchester United and in 2018 against AS Roma. In their two previous games against Real Madrid in the US, Barça have come out on top both times: winning 3-2 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami in 2017 and 1-0 at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas in 2022.

The Allegiant Stadium, which holds 65,000 fans, will be the venue for the final game of the tour for Xavi Hernández’s men against AC Milan, the third game on the west coast. The two teams have met on two previous occasions on US soil with a 2-0 win for Barça in 2003 in Washington and a 1-0 win for the Italians in 2018 in Santa Clara.

These four games during BARÇA ON TOUR: US 2023 are part of the Soccer Champions Tour, a tournament put together by Sixth Street in collaboration with Legends and AEG, and in which, aside from Barça and their four opponents on the tour, Manchester United will also be participating.

The USA, a popular destination for blaugrana preseason

This summer’s tour will be the 14 th in FC Barcelona history to the USA (the first in 1937 was key in the Club’s survival), a country that has become a popular destination in recent years with tours taking place in 2011, 2015, 2017, 2018, the latter being a joint tour with the women’s team, as well as 2019 and 2022.

In fact, the North American market in a key priority for the globalisation and expansion the Barça brand. Football is undergoing a great period of growth in the USA that trend will hopefully continue with the next World Cup in 2026 taking place on North American soil. Furthermore, FC Barcelona opened a US office in New York in 2016 and continues its efforts to build a greater connection with its existing fans and win more followers and reach agreements with local sponsors to help develop even further the country’s footballing ecosystem.

THERE COULD BE A NEW CLASSIC IN THE USA

Barça will return to the United States in July for their pre-season tour

FC Barcelona will repeat, for the second consecutive year, the American pre-season tour in July. It will be between the 19th and the 30th, with three or four friendlies to be confirmed. One of them aims to be, again, against Real Madrid in Las Vegas

USA tour review: 3 Barcelona players who exceeded expectations

Barcelona’s tour of the USA has come to an end, now it’s time to unravel what we witnessed over the three games on US soil. Which players helped their first-team cause with their performances? Who hurt their stock? We’re going to take a look at both, starting today with the three players who were really impressive.

Unfortunately, we were robbed of one game due to the viral issue in the Barca squad that caused the cancellation of the Juventus game , but we do have three games to base this assessment.

You won’t see names like Alejandro Balde or Frenkie de Jong on this list, we already know how good they are. We’re talking about players who surprised or who exceeded our expectations.

Starting with…

Oriol Romeu – Defensive Midfielder

I didn’t rate Romeu’s first performance very highly, in the game against Arsenal I thought he was too passive and the game passed him by. Against Real Madrid and AC Milan, he was the focal point in that midfield when it came to dictating the tempo and ball distribution.

The trial of the double-pivot with Frenkie de Jong looked to be successful with the reliability of Romeu allowing the Dutch midfielder to roam, and De Jong is at his best when he can transition defence into attack, we saw that countless times with balls through the lines.

Romeu showed his defensive capabilities by tracking runners, breaking up play and making those simple passes to keep the ball moving. He also showed that he’s a man aware of his own limitations, often leaving it to the more creative members of midfield to make those cutting passes, guys like De Jong and Pedri.

Expecting him to be Sergio Busquets isn’t fair, but he doesn’t need to be Busquets, he just needs to do the job outlined by Xavi. That job seems to be pretty clear from the pre-season, break up play and keep the ball moving while offering cover for the defensive pair. Romeu will absolutely do that.

Youngsters will have chance to demonstrate their worth in pre-season tour

Barcelona's pre-season trip to the United States has a finalised touring roster.

The team is scheduled to depart shortly thereafter for friendlies with Juventus , Arsenal , Real Madrid , and AC Milan. Xavi has selected 32 players for the USA pre season tour.

The newest hires On the tour, Oriol Romeu, Mika Faye, Ilkay Gundogan, and Inigo Martinez all want to make their Barcelona debut.

Numerous young players can also fit on the plane, including Aleix Garrido, Fermin Lopez, Alex Valle, Lamine Yamal, Marc Casado, and Ander Astralaga.

Despite continuous rumours over their futures at Camp Nou, Franck Kessie, Julian Araujo, Sergino Dest, and Clement Lenglet are also included in the squad.

Since Nico Gonzalez is not participating, it seems likely that he will leave Barcelona, with Porto currently holding the edge in the race to sign the midfielder.

This year's preseason is anticipated to be filled with transfer rumours once again. Despite the Blaugrana's league championship to be proud of, all eyes are on how they can once again reach the pinnacles of European and world football, especially after losing the legendary Lionel Messi.

It might be a crucial summer in manager Xavi's term amid a financial position that hasn't significantly improved, the relocation to a smaller stadium whilst their existing one is being restored, and a team that requires reinforcements.

If all goes according to plan, Barca may be in for a new age of prosperity. If they make a mistake, they risk falling behind Real Madrid once more.

Below we look at Barcelona's 32-man squad for pre-season

Ter Stegen: Ronald Araujo, Ousmane Dembele, Robert Lewandowski, Sergio Roberto, Gavi, Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, Iklay Gundogan, Ansu Fati Ferran Toress, Inaki Pena, Andreas Christensen, Marcos Alonso, Frenk Kessie, Raphinha, Jules Kounde, Eric Garcia, Julain Araujo, EZ Abde, Sergino Dest, Lenglet, Martinez, Oriol Romeu, Mika Faye, M. Casado, Astralaga, Lamine Yamal, Fermin Lopez, Alex Valle, Aleix Garrido.

FC Barcelona planning a tour to the United States

Raafay Humayun

Following the conclusion of the 2022/2023 football season in Spain, Mundo Deportivo reports that FC Barcelona are looking towards a proposed pre-season tour to the United States of America. Scheduled to take place in July of 2023, it would see Xavi’s men visit the country once again following their previous tour in the summer of 2022.

A major reasoning for the tour happens to be Barcelona’s economic situation. Finding a diverse plethora of revenue streams is currently a major objective for the Catalan giants, and tours such as the one being reported are a good avenue to increase their revenue generation.

Similar to the last time they traveled to the United States , FC Barcelona are expected to face the other two Super League advocates alongside them: Real Madrid and Juventus. Moreover, this time around, the Super League project seems like a much more approachable concept for teams that previously ended up opposing it, courtesy of the rulings in favor of the project made by legal authorities that frustrated UEFA and other domestic entities.

Furthermore, an expected favorable ruling by the Court of Luxembourg can also prove to be vital in making more and more clubs feel that the Super League project is actually an approachable outlet and may be reviewed.

However, Barcelona do intend on decreasing the length of their tour this time around in comparison to their 15-day period during their previous journey. Instead of taking part in 4 different games, it is rumored to be a 3-game tour during this visit.

The venues for this tour will reportedly be previously visited New York City, potentially the SoFi stadium in Los Angeles, and a third venue located somewhere North of the country this time around.

Who are golf’s highest-paid players in 2024? Updated PGA Tour money list

Scottie scheffler’s consistent wins and outstanding performances make him a golfer to watch in upcoming pga tour seasons..

Svetozar Pavlović

The stakes have risen to new heights as the PGA Tour progresses through another exciting season. Each event feels like a high-stakes duel, with players competing for positions and FedEx Cup points, ultimately determining their earnings for the year. There’s growing interest in streaming and competition, leading the tour to add more money to the event prize pools. With the total jackpot for the current season expected to exceed a whopping $500 million , the PGA Tour golfers are experiencing a period of financial incentive.

In this article, we explore the top earners of the PGA Tour for 2024 and the top five leading golfers on the official PGA Tour’s money list at this moment.

Sahith Theegala: $4,282,963

Theegala, a promising young golfer, has been working closely with his coach, Rick Hunter, to perfect his game and play “boring golf.” In one of his interviews, Theegala explained that he tries to balance having fun on the course and focusing on the mechanics of his swing, which is all about timing. He believes his swing may occasionally go awry, but he and Hunter are constantly working to tighten his technique and improve his performance.

Theegala’s approach has already paid dividends, as evidenced by his PGA Tour victory , his top-10 finish at his Masters debut, and his numerous runner-up titles. He entered the top 5 on this list.

Xander Schauffele: $4,365,483

Xander Schauffele is a consistent player who always goes for the victory. However, he tends to come very close to achieving this goal and then lose it at the last moment . This was the case again on Sunday when he tied for second place with another player from this list in THE PLAYERS Championship. This was his 13th time as a runner-up, and it was a harrowing one for him. If not for Scottie Scheffler’s win, Schauffele would have been a top contender for the title, and this win would have been his biggest yet, surpassing his 2018 Tour Championship and 2021 Olympic gold medal (depending on who you ask).

Hideki Matsuyama: $5,632,462

Hideki Matsuyama won the Genesis Invitational on February 18 this year. He overcame the deficit despite being six strokes behind the leader, shooting a 62 to win his first PGA Tour since 2022. Matsuyama has 18 worldwide wins, eight top-10 finishes in major championships, and five appearances in the Presidents Cup. He has won two World Golf Championship tournaments, two Waste Management Phoenix Opens, eight Japan Golf Tour events, two Asian Amateur Championships, and most recently, the Genesis Invitational. With nine PGA Tour wins Matsuyama is the most successful Japanese golfer in the tour’s history .

Wyndham Clark: $7,896,591

Wyndham Clark quickly rose to financial prominence after clinching his maiden PGA Tour win in a resounding fashion at the 2023 Wells Fargo Championship . He languished in 36th place on the tour money list before this victory. Clark played at The PLAYERS Championship this year, which delivered an thrilling finish. Scottie Scheffler charged from five shots back to start the day and won The PLAYERS for a second consecutive season. On the 18th hole, Clark had a putt to tie the event and send it to a playoff, but unfortunately, the ball narrowly lipped out at the last second when it was halfway down. In February 2024, Clark shot a course record and a career-low round of 60 at Pebble Beach , winning the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am by one stroke over Ludvig Åberg. Due to inclement weather, the tournament was called off after 54 holes.r

Scottie Scheffler: $10,939,500

Scottie Scheffler, the American professional golfer, has been making waves on the PGA Tour with his exceptional performances. His recent triumph at The Players Championship has been nothing short of spectacular, and he has catapulted to the summit of golfing excellence. Scheffler’s performance in the championship was remarkable. He scored 18 under par, beating out his nearest competitor by a single stroke.

Scottie Scheffler has broken the PGA Tour's single-season prize money record two years in a row. 2022: $14 million 2023: $21 million And after winning The Players Championship, Scheffler is already at $11 million in earnings this year …with 6 months left in the season. pic.twitter.com/er5zkwCHa6 — Joe Pompliano (@JoePompliano) March 17, 2024

His win at The Players Championship also earned him a staggering $4.5 million prize money . Scheffler’s success on the PGA Tour this season has not been limited to this championship alone. He has also won the WM Phoenix Open and has consistently finished in the top ten in other tournaments .

Scheffler’s rise to financial superiority in the PGA Tour seems inevitable, especially considering the absence of Jon Rahm, one of his biggest competitors. Additionally, the relatively poor form of Rory Mcllroy , another player competing with Scheffler for the top spot, has only made Scheffler’s ascent to the top more certain.

2024 Players Championship money: Purse, payout breakdown, winner’s share

Xander Schauffele’s resume includes an Olympic gold medal, Tour Championship title and WGC victory. On Sunday at TPC Sawgrass, though, he has a chance to add a victory that would top them all.

After a flawless third-round 65, Schauffele holds a one-stroke lead heading into the final round at the 2024 Players Championship. With a win he’d not only add a win at the PGA Tour’s premier event, but also earn himself the hefty $4.5 million first-place prize.

To get his hands on the trophy, he’ll have to hold off a series of challengers featuring some of the Tour’s best. Men’s golf’s two most recent major winners — Brian Harman and Wyndham Clark — are each within two strokes of Schauffele, while major winners Matt Fitzpatrick and Scottie Scheffler remain in chase as well.

Check out below for an entire purse breakdown for the 2024 Players Championship.

2024 Players Championship leaderboard: Scottie Scheffler becomes first back-to-back winner at TPC Sawgrass

Scheffler defended his title and won across consecutive weeks with the lowest final round in course history.

The 50th edition of the Players Championship saw a tournament first as Scottie Scheffler claimed the PGA Tour's flagship event for the second straight season. It was a one-stroke victory for Scheffler, whose 20 under score bested 54-hole leader Xander Schauffele, 36-hole leader Wyndham Clark and Brian Harman.

The world No. 1 became the first player to successfully defend his Players Championship title, and he needed to come from five back on Sunday to do it. He tied the largest 54-hole deficit overcome en route to winning, and Scheffler's 64 on Sunday tied the lowest final-round score from a Players Championship winner (Davis Love III, Fred Couples, Jack Nicklaus).

Prior to Scheffler's successful defense, the best finish by the defending champion was T5, most recently accomplished by Hal Sutton in 2001.

Scheffler is also the first player since Tiger Woods in 2001 to win The Players Championship a week after winning emerging victorious on the PGA Tour, according to Justin Ray . He is also the fourth to win at Bay Hill and TPC Sawgrass in the same season, joining Tom Kite (1989), Woods (2001, 2013) and Jason Day (2016).

The most predictable man in golf experienced one of the most unpredictable tournaments of his career. Dealing with a neck injury that started ailing him during the second round, Scheffler did well just to enter the final round within arm's reach of Schauffele.

"I was hoping to be in this position," said Scheffler. "Yesterday -- I put up a good fight for four days. That's really all there was. Teddy [Scott] kept me in a good head space out there. We had a great finish yesterday, and then got off to a slow start today, but then the hole-out on 4 kind of propelled us a little bit, and hit a lot of good shots today, did a lot of good things this week."

Making three straight pars out the gate, the reigning PGA Tour Player of the Year jump started his round with a hole-out from 82 yards on the par-4 4th for an eagle. He added a birdie on his next hole before nice conversions from outside 10 feet on Nos. 8-9 to turn in 5-under 31, pulling even with Schauffele and Clark.

Back-to-back tap-in birdies on Nos. 11-12 saw Scheffler tie Schauffele once again at 19 under. He appeared keen on keeping the birdie train rolling when he threw his tee shot on the par-3 14 to 4 feet, but Scheffler was unable to convert.

Coolly navigating the difficult 14th and 15th, Scheffler added his eighth birdie of the round on the par-5 16th to grab the lead all to himself. He secured par on the 17th and had eyes on one more birdie on the closing hole after finding the fairway.

Scheffler's approach took an odd hop and settled 16 feet away. One last birdie conversion would have all but clinched the trophy, but when his putt slipped by, the door remained open for the chasing pack as he posted 20 under.

Harman made his move with a birdie on No. 15 to get within one, but a wayward drive on No. 16 handcuffed the Champion Golfer of the Year on the easiest hole on the back nine. He arrived at the 18th needing birdie to tie the clubhouse lead, but Harman failed to convert from 17 feet and join Scheffler at 20 under.

Only two men remained with a chance to track down the game's top player. Both Schauffele and Clark made it difficult on themselves with dropped shots on No. 14. Schauffele added another bogey on No. 15 to fall two off Scheffler's pace but quickly rebounded with a birdie on No. 16.

Clark joined Schauffele with a birdie on the 16th and stepped to the 17th one day removed from his chunked wedge shot that found a watery grave. The U.S. Open champion more than made amends when his tee shot settled 4 feet from the traditional Sunday pin location to set up his second straight birdie to get within one of Scheffler.

Schauffele's tee shot settled just outside Clark's ball, but unlike his playing partner, Schauffele was unable to make his birdie putt. The two came to the par-4 finisher both needing birdie to tie Scheffler. Schauffele did not give himself a good look while Clark faced the same 17-footer Harman missed just prior.

Clark's putt came as close as it could come without dropping. Horeshoeing hard around the hole and out, the birdie bid fell by the wayside and gave Scheffler another slice of history at The Players Championship.

2024 Players Championship leaderboard

T2. Wyndham Clark, Xander Schauffele, Brian Harman (-19): All three visited the 72nd hole with a chance to win this championship, and all three failed to make birdie. Harman saw his 17-foot bid never threaten, and Schauffele failed to give himself a realistic chance after hitting his tee shot in the pine straw. That left just Clark for Scheffler to dodge, and the U.S. Open champion did just about everything but make his.

How each player got to this position was quite different. Harman hovered and hovered and hovered before making a birdie on No. 15 to get within one. The Champion Golfer of the Year won't kick himself for not making birdie on the 17th or even 18th for that matter, but for letting the par-5 16th go by without adding another. Meanwhile, Schauffele was in full control of this tournament until the final five holes.

The 54-hole leader arrived to the par-4 14th with the lead and walked off one behind as Scheffler made a birdie ahead and Schauffele dropped a shot. He made another bogey on No. 15, missed a convertible 7-foot birdie putt on No. 17 and has to be walking away thinking he let this one through his grasp.

Clark battled his swing over the weekend and was as many as three down late in his back nine, but he hung tough. He failed to convert an 11-foot eagle chance on 16 before rectifying Saturday's mistake on 17 with a birdie from 4 feet. His birdie putt on 18 to force a playoff will be played for weeks to come as it may be one of the most brutal lip outs in recent memory.

5. Matt Fitzpatrick (-16): The Englishman raced through the finish line with four straight birdies, but it was too little too late. Fitzpatrick struggled for the majority of the day carding four bogeys from Nos. 4-13 to play himself out of contention. The devilish par-4 4th which yielded birdies all week (and which Scheffler eagled Sunday) was a thorn in his side as he played that hole 5 over on the week while someone like Scheffler played it in a 3-under fashion.

T6. Hideki Matsuyama, Si Woo Kim (-15): Matsuyama was so solid despite some injury concern coming into the week. Less than confident that he was 100% healthy, the man from Japan posted rounds of 69-69-68-67 for another quality result at the Players Championship and his third top 10 since 2019.

8. Ludvig Aberg (-14): Talk about a tournament debut. The young Swede continues to show that when the lights are the brightest his game may be at its best. Aberg came home with a bogey-free 67 on Sunday to climb inside the top 10 and collect his fifth straight top-25 finish.

Scheffler dodging bullets

Xander Schauffele misses from 7 feet and needs birdie on the last to tie Scottie Scheffler. Wyndham Clark converts his and will need the same on 18. Up ahead, Brian Harman is on the green on 18 and will need to make a 17-footer to tie Scheffler. This is amazing stuff.

Xander and Clark both tight on 17

Wow, wow, wow!!!! Xander Schauffele will have 7 feet to tie Scottie Scheffler at 20 under. Wyndham Clark will have 4 feet to get within one. Their tee shots on the par-3 17th are the two closest we have seen almost all day. Talk about gumption.

We have a development on 16!

Xander Schauffele will have 25 feet for eagle on 16 to get back to 20 under where Scottie Scheffler has ended his tournament. Wyndham Clark will have 11 feet for an eagle of his own to get to 19 under and in with a chance to chase down the clubhouse lead.

Xander drops another

It looks like Brian Harman (-19) has emerged as Scottie Scheffler's biggest threat as Xander Schauffele just made another bogey. Schauffele is two behind with three to play. Scheffler could slam the door shut with one last birdie as he faces 16 feet on the 72nd hole to get to 21 under.

If you played all eight rounds at Bay Hill and TPC Sawgrass and played both courses to field average, you would be about -2 at the end of the two weeks. Scottie is 35 under.

Xander makes bogey on 14

Xander's second bogey of the day comes at an inopportune time as he fails to get up and down on No. 14. He now is one behind Scottie Scheffler who is on the green on 17 but faces a very difficult two putt from just about 50 feet to stay at 20 under. While all this is happening, Brian Harman makes birdie on 15 to get within one. He will have a great chance to get to 20 under with another birdie on 16.

Scheffler gets to 20 under

A tap-in birdie for the world no. 1 on 16 has gotten him to 20 under with two to play. Scottie Scheffler now heads to the most difficult hole and the most nerve racking, the par-3 17th. He is 8 under on his round and hopes to post a number for Xander Schauffele to look at as he will need to get up-and-down to remain at 20 under back on 14.

A look at the closing stretch

Xander Schauffele has entered the most difficult part of the golf course where four of the last five holes are playing over par. The par-3 17th is currently playing to an average of 3.40 (the most difficult of the day) and may set up a championship moment shortly. Xander leads by one at 20 under but just missed the fairway on 14 while Scheffler is in a small greenside bunker in two on the par-5 16th.

Xander goes one clear

This guy's short game, I mean what else is there to say at this point. Xander makes birdie from over the green on the par-4 12th to get to 20 under and one clear of Scottie Scheffler who is in the fairway on No. 15. Schauffele is now 25 for 31 scrambling this week. He is two clear of Clark and Harman.

Four horse race

Data Golf doesn't give anyone outside the current top four much of a chance of winning (all less than 1%). So it's likely down to Scheffler (-19), Schauffele (-19), Clark (-18) and Harman (-18).

FC Barcelona heading on tour to the west of the United States

FC Barcelona will be visiting Santa Clara , Los Angeles , Dallas and Las Vegas for a tour of the United States that includes friendlies against Juventus, Arsenal, Real Madrid and AC Milan. While last year's tour was centred mainly in the east of the country, this year it is mainly focused on the west, and particularly Los Angeles.

The team flies straight to LAX this Wednesday, and will be based in the Californian city until July 28, although the first game will be played at the Levi's Stadium to the south of San Francisco on July 22 against Juventus . The team will fly straight back to LA after the game.

Next up are Arsenal on July 26 at the SoFi Stadium , Inglewood, LA, the first time Barça have faced the Gunners since the 2016 UEFA Champions League round of 16, which the Catalans won 5-2 on aggregate.

After nine days in LA, on July 28 they head for Dallas and a game with Real Madrid the day after at the AT&T Stadium , home of the Dallas Cowboys. It's the third time the teams have met on US soil, and Barça won both the previous meetings at the Hard Rock Stadium, Miami in 2017 and the Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas in 2022.

On July 31, the team heads back west to Las Vegas , where they end their tour against AC Milan on August 1 at the Allegiant Stadium.

The team will play all these games with the Estrella Damm logo on their right sleeve, and the CUPRA logo on the back of their training and warm-up kits.

Institutional representation

The players are being joined by president Joan Laporta and several members of his board, who will be attending a number of social and commercial events while in a country of such strategic importance to the club, and where it is so important to make personal contact with its huge fan base across the nation.

This is the fourteenth time that Barça have visited the USA, the first dating all the way back to 1937, a tour that played a key role in the club's very survival. The most recent visits were in 2011, 2015, 2017, 2018 (together with the women's team), 2019 and 2022.

2024 NCAA tournament predictions to win March Madness regions, Final Four

barcelona usa tour 2023 squad

Selection Sunday is officially behind us. We know who is playing who and the path each team would need to take in order to claim the 2024 national title. So, now the question looms "Who will it be?"

Whether you are trying to create that first bracket or just trying to win your office pool, there is plenty of intrigue surrounding who the experts having making Cinderella runs, representing each region in the Final Four, and of course, which team will win it all.

Obviously, trying to predict March Madness is near impossible. It is madness, after all. And there's a reason that nobody has ever been able to correctly predict a full bracket. Still, for those of us less familiar with the 2024 college basketball scene, these predictions could be exactly what we need in order to earn bragging rights for a year.

2024 March Madness Predictions:

East region:.

USA Today : UConn

Paul Myerberg writes, "Anyone other than UConn winning the region and going to the Final Four would be a big surprise. The Huskies are long, deep, explosive, dripping with athleticism and loaded with the sort of confidence you'd expect from the defending champs." Myerberg does like Florida Atlantic as a potential sleeper in this region, but seeing as how FAU would likely face UConn in the Round of 32, clearly he believes that this is UConn's region to lose.

FOX Sports : UConn

FOX Sports' John Fanta also likes UConn to come out of this region. It should be mostly a breeze for the reigning national champs too. That said, fans will be treated to a rematch of last year's national championship game between the Huskies and San Diego State Aztecs in the Sweet 16 if Fanta's predictions come true.

West Region:

USA Today : Arizona

Josh Peter writes, "Sure, the skeptics are howling: But Arizona lost two of its past three games! Including a 78-65 setback against lowly Southern California! Nonetheless, these Wildcats are built for an extended run thanks to a versatile eight-man rotation. Scoring? Got it. Arizona ranks third in scoring offense with 87.7 points per game. Caleb Love, the senior guard, leads the team in scoring at 18.1, and each of the team’s four other starters are averaging 9.8."

FOX Sports : Arizona

No love for the top seed North Carolina it seems. Fanta likes the Wildcats out of the West as well, with a matchup against UNC in the Elite 8.

South Region:

USA Today : Houston

Eddie Timanus writes, "One at least has to consider Kentucky in the No. 3 position. When their many talented scorers get going, the Wildcats are capable of beating anyone. But in the end we can’t go against top-seeded Houston. Despite the Cougars getting outmuscled in the Big 12 finale, they’ve been remarkably consistent all season in the nation’s deepest conference, and their defense-first approach should serve them well in the pressure-packed environment of March Madness."

FOX Sports : Houston

Once again, we see a match. Houston has undoubtedly been one of the most consistent teams in college basketball. It's hard to argue against them. While teams like James Madison and NC State could make a run, they certainly wouldn't be much of a match for a team as talented and proven as Houston.

Midwest Region:

USA Today : Purdue

Steve Berkowitz writes, "Given that the other team in NCAA Tournament history to lose in the first round as a No. 1 seed — Virginia — came back to win the national championship the following year, also as a No. 1 seed, how can you resist this one?"

FOX Sports : Tennessee

Our first mismatch. This is arguably the closest of any of the regions. Creighton has been one of the best teams all year and for them to be listed as a No. 3 seed, seems remarkably disrespectful. Still, FOX Sports likes the Tennessee Volunteers out of this region, defeating the Purdue Boilermakers in the Elite 8.

Final Four :

Paul Myerberg writes, "Anyone other than UConn winning the whole thing might be a big surprise, actually."

And it's hard to argue against him. UConn has been one of the deepest, most explosive, and most athletic teams we've seen in recent memory. Not only do they have the tools to reach the championship and win, but they clearly have the experience and know what it takes to do so.

UConn seems to be the runaway favorite for most experts and it's hard to disagree. UConn has dominated nearly every opponent they've faced, and they've faced several strong opponents.
