C2C: Country to Country 2024 – Brothers Osborne live review

Laura Cooney

Since the release of their debut album ‘Pawn Shop’ in 2016, Brothers Osborne have become one of the most beloved country acts among UK fans. They made their C2C debut back in 2017 and have been frequent visitors here ever since, most recently back in ‘Mad May’ 2022. Now, following the release of their self-titled fourth album last year, the sibling duo have been back in the UK all this week playing at C2C, culminating last night where they were second on the bill at London’s O2 Arena.

Arriving on stage to an accordion-infused intro and with screens depicting the back of their heads amidst a myriad of stars, the pair opened their 70-minute set with ‘Might As Well Be Me’ from their latest album. It’s a driving, heavy number which features one of John’s many trademark guitar licks (including the first of several wicked solos of the night) as well as gravelly, deep vocals from TJ. The anthemic, fist-in-the-air feel of the song was the perfect way to kick things off and drew the loudest cheers of the weekend so far. They followed that with the empowering ‘Nobody’s Nobody’, which took things down a notch whilst allowing TJ to show off the strength in his voice on the soaring chorus.

What followed was a whistle-stop tour through the last eight years of music, from the funky swagger of ‘Shoot Me Straight’ and the no-holds-barred-fun ‘Drank Like Hank’, to the bluesy barroom singalong vibes of ‘Weed, Whiskey And Willie’ (which saw the audience light up the whole O2 with their phones) and ’21 Summer’ with its sun-soaked nostalgia and vivid depiction of young love. There were also a few choice covers including a stomping, punchy rendition of Tom Petty’s ‘Won’t Back Down’ – the ideal choice for a band who have built their whole careers on daring to be different – and a mash-up of Bob Marley’s ‘Three Little Birds’ with ‘Rum’, an ode to summer romance so laid-back it’s practically horizontal. The crowd were swaying along (with encouragement from TJ) and in as fine voice as they had been all night, and it was a hugely positive, uplifting moment.

For me one of the standout moments was ‘I Don’t Remember Me (Before You)’. A rare chance for the set to slow down and breathe, the duo brought a touching, soulful quality to the song, which gave TJ a chance to show his softer side against some delicate (at least by his standards) guitar picking from John. I also loved ‘I’m Not For Everyone’ with its big singalong chorus and ‘Stay A Little Longer’, which got the crowd clapping along and probably John’s standout solo of the night. It was a riff that could probably have launched itself into space and cements why he’s one of the absolute best guitarists in country music right now.

The pair closed the show with their take on the lively, rattling ‘Burning Man’, with TJ telling the crowd to “get on your feet”, before going into an extended version of ‘It Ain’t My Fault’. They did a sterling job whipping up the audience’s anticipation, with a Hammond organ solo from their fantastic band before not one, but two incredible solos from John that left the crowd absolutely in awe. When the song itself hit, the noise was like nothing else and the whole audience jumping up and down is a sight that will live long in the memory. It finished things on an absolute high and gave headliners Old Dominion a pretty big job to live up to!

Once again Brothers Osborne showed why they’re among the best live performers in country right now. Between John’s killer guitar solos and TJ’s powerful vocals, along with a truckload of engagement and enthusiasm, they delivered yet another smash of a performance that ticked all the boxes, covered all the hits and threw in some new stuff for good measure. If I had one small criticism, the lack of newer stuff was a slight drawback for me, and much as I love John’s guitar playing it would have been quite nice to squeeze in another track or two from the new record, or even 2019’s ‘Skeletons’. But maybe we’ll get some more of that on their (surely inevitable) next tour over here? Watch this space…

Set list:  1. Might As Well Be Me 2. Nobody’s Nobody 3. Shoot Me Straight 4. Drank Like Hank 5. 21 Summer 6. I Don’t Remember Me (Before You) 7. Weed, Whiskey And Willie 8. Won’t Back Down (Tom Petty cover) 9. I’m Not For Everyone 10. Stay A Little Longer 11. Three Little Birds (Bob Marley cover) / Rum 12. Burning Man 13. Ain’t My Fault  Performance date:  10 th  March 2024

Brothers Osbornes’ self-titled album is out now on UMG Recordings. Their latest EP, ‘Break Mine’, is due for release on 22nd March 2024 .

GRAMMY-winning Brothers Osborne: UK tour in May

Country stars Brothers Osborne have been both critically and fan acclaimed for years, so it’s surprising that they’ve only just received their first GRAMMY award. They won the Best Country Duo/Group Country Performance award for their self-produced single, Younger Me . You’ll get a chance to hear the intensely personal song on Brothers Osborne UK tour this May.

During his emotional acceptance speech, T.J. Osborne explained: “I never thought I would be able to do music professionally because of my sexuality. And I certainly never thought I’d be accepting a GRAMMY after having done something that I thought was going to be life-changing, potentially in a very negative way. But here I am tonight – not only accepting this award with my brother, who I love so much, but with a man who I love and who loves me back, and I don’t know what I did to be so lucky.”

They performed Dead Man’s Curve , a track from their GRAMMY-nominated album Skeletons , to close the star-studded event.

I’ve seen the Brothers in two different NY venues. Once at the Paramount in Huntington with Jon Pardi and recently at the Palace Theatre in Albany. Both times John and TJ put on an awesome show. Well worth the ticket price.

Loved it. But security maid fans sit down when wanted to dance and have a fun time. Not o.k.. that's why fans pay for a live performance. Thanks Rustonkelley was awesome and i thought it was so cool he was 65 days clean and sober it was cool he mentioned that he was in recovery just as I am. Thanks so very much for your time.

Very good show with lots of energy. The tag on Ain’t My Fault was excellent, they played so many songs and ended with The Wild Feathers jam session to A Little Help From my friends.

Brothers Osborne Plot Extensive North American Summer Tour

By Jon Freeman

Jon Freeman

Brothers Osborne have confirmed a lengthy U.S. tour set to launch in mid-summer. The We’re Not for Everyone Tour, named for a track on their arena-ready third studio album Skeletons , will take the sibling duo to nearly 50 locations beginning in July.

The trek gets underway July 29th in Philadelphia, with stops including Nashville, Houston, Atlanta, Los Angeles, and Seattle. Many of the venues are open-air locations, such as Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater and the Santa Barbara Bowl in California.

TJ and John Osborne will lead their band through a tour that wraps up November 20th in Moon Township, Pennsylvania. “After a Few” singer Travis Denning and 2020 ACM New Female Artist of the Year winner Tenille Townes will alternate opening duties throughout the tour.

In February, singer TJ Osborne publicly came out as gay, making him the only out man signed to a Nashville major label. “It’s been a really wild experience to have come out to very few people — although a lot of my friends and family knew already — and then to come out publicly in one big fell swoop,” he told Ellen DeGeneres during an appearance on her talk show. “In some ways, it’s nice, but it’s made for a very emotional day.”

Brothers Osborne have unveiled the new song “Sun Ain’t Even Gone Down Yet” as they announce details of their upcoming fourth studio album. Titled simply Brothers Osborne , it will be released by EMI Records Nashville on September 15.

“We’ve always had a lot of mystery intentionally around the things we have done, but with this album, we decided to be all in,” says TJ Osborne. “And doing that reminded me of what it was like when I first started playing music, when it was an outlet for my angst or just a way to have fun.”

Sun Ain't Even Gone Down Yet

Adds his brother John: “Since our last record [October 2020’s Skeletons ], we’ve been very forthcoming with who we are. By acknowledging TJ’s personal life and my mental health struggles, we are more ourselves creatively and publicly than we’ve ever been.”

How Lucinda Williams Wore Her Pain On Her Sleeve With ‘World Without Tears’

The producer of the new set is Mike Elizondo, known for his work with Sheryl Crow , Turnstile, Dr. Dre , Twenty One Pilots, Lin-Manual Miranda, and others. He put together an A-list band of studio musicians, including Paul McCartney ’s drummer Abe Laboriel Jr. There’s only one guest vocalist on the album, but it’s one of great distinction: Miranda Lambert sings on “We Ain’t Good at Breaking Up,” which she co-wrote with Brothers Osborne and Jesse Frasure. The brothers co-wrote every song on the album, including the current single “Nobody’s Nobody,” the latter with Elizondo and Kendell Marvel.

Described as the duo’s “most musically diverse yet,” Brothers Osborne features synthesizers and a piano ballad. “We are always pushing ourselves, always evolving and not afraid to change,” says John. “But at the end of the day, we are also who we are.” Adds TJ: “This is a defining record at this point in our career, where we needed to put it all on our shoulders. And we did. Like it was when we were growing up, it’s just John and me.”

The duo have also announced four new tour dates for October, in New York City, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., and Nashville. “These four shows will be very special and all will be different, showcasing music from our new album, and of course some of your old favorites,” say the brothers. Tickets for the New York and Los Angeles shows are on sale now , and those for Washington D.C. and Nashville will be available to the group’s fan club, The Family, for exclusive presale next Tuesday (18) at 10am local time. Tickets go on general sale on July 21 at 10am.

Pre-order Brothers Osborne , which is released on September 15.

The full tracklist is:

1. “Who Says You Can’t Have Everything” (John Osborne, TJ Osborne, Casey Beathard) 2. “Nobody’s Nobody” (John Osborne, TJ Osborne, Mike Elizondo, Kendell Marvel) 3. “Might As Well Be Me” (John Osborne, TJ Osborne, Corey Crowder, Julian Bunetta) 4. “Sun Ain’t Even Gone Down Yet” (John Osborne, TJ Osborne, Corey Crowder) 5. “Goodbye’s Kickin’ In” (John Osborne, TJ Osborne, Lee Miller, Mike Elizondo) 6. “Love You Too” (John Osborne, TJ Osborne, Jessie Jo Dillon, Jesse Frasure) 7. “New Bad Habit” (John Osborne, TJ Osborne, Lee Miller) 8. “We Ain’t Good At Breaking Up” (John Osborne, TJ Osborne, Jesse Frasure, Miranda Lambert) 9. “Back Home” (John Osborne, TJ Osborne, Lee Miller) 10. “Ain’t Nobody Got Time For That” (John Osborne, TJ Osborne, Jaren Johnston, Lee Miller) 11. “Rollercoaster (Forever And A Day)” (John Osborne, TJ Osborne, Jamie Hartman)

The brothers co-wrote every song on the album, including their chart-climbing current single “Nobody’s Nobody,” penned with Elizondo and Kendell Marvel, capturing a message of inclusion and acceptance.

Brothers Osborne are one of music’s most consistently adventurous bands, a duo connected by not just blood, but also a lifetime of performing together, and a shared working class upbringing in Deale, Maryland. The reigning CMA and ACM Duo of the Year winners are leaders of a progressive and still classic school of country music, and the faces of the new generation of Nashville. Anchored by TJ’s baritone and John’s guitar, every one of the album’s 11 tracks are distinctly Brothers Osborne songs – the album is also their most musically diverse yet, along with a new producer’s direction, it features synthesizers, and a piano ballad.

“We are always pushing ourselves, always evolving and not afraid to change,” John says. “But at the end of the day, we are also who we are.”

“This is a defining record at this point in our career, where we needed to put it all on our shoulders,” TJ says. “And we did. Like it was when we were growing up, it’s just John and me.”

Following their nomination for Best Country Album and Best Country Duo/Group Performance at the 2024 Grammys, and winning this year’s CMA Vocal Duo of the Year, Brothers Osborne announce their 35-date “Might As Well Be Us Tour” with dates throughout 2024. The Grammy-winning duo will return to Cincinnati, Ohio to perform at The Andrew J Brady Music Center ® on Thursday, April 11, 2024 with support from Zach Top .

Recently, Brothers Osborne were nominated for Best Country Album for Brothers Osborne and Best Country Duo/ Group Performance for “Nobody’s Nobody” at the 66th annual GRAMMY Awards. The siblings took home their first GRAMMY in 2022, winning Best Country Duo/Group Performance for their song “Younger Me” and have been nominated for 12 GRAMMYs overall. Additionally, the band won the CMA Vocal Duo of the Year at this year’s 57th Annual CMA Awards. The duo are the reigning champions in this category and this marks the sixth time they have taken home this award.

This month, the duo made their debut appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! for a special performance of their song ““Goodbye’s Kickin’ In” with a string quartet and backing vocals. Watch their performance of “Goodbye’s Kickin’ In,” off their self-titled fourth studio album, on Jimmy Kimmel Live! here . The band also appeared on CBS Mornings , joined by Anthony Mason at their homes in Nashville as they open up about the creative process behind their recent self-titled album, and their upcoming tour. John Osborne spoke candidly about his previous struggles with mental health and TJ touched on his journey since coming out. Watch the full interview here .

Brothers Osborne, the band’s self-titled fourth studio album is out now via EMI Records Nashville. The album was named one of the most anticipated albums of the year by The Los Angeles Times who call it “a lively self-titled” album which adds “fresh sounds and textures to the Osbornes’ solidly built songs” and the duo recently appeared on the cover of American Songwriter who say a “sense of comfortable confidence echoes through all eleven tracks on Brothers Osborne , which builds off the duo’s trademark meld of classic Southern rock and polished modern country.” Brothers Osborne is available on all formats here .

For their self-titled release, the brothers enlisted Mike Elizondo (Sheryl Crow, Turnstile, Dr. Dre, Twenty One Pilots, Lin-Manuel Miranda) to produce, entrusting him with curating his own band of studio musicians, including Paul McCartney’s drummer Abe Laboriel Jr. behind the kit. Miranda Lambert provides the LP’s sole guest vocals on “We Ain’t Good at Breaking Up,” after co-writing the song with Brothers Osborne and Jesse Frasure.

Brothers Osborne Announce Massive Might as Well Be Us 2024 Tour

The country music stars will be taking their new, self-titled album out on the road next year

brothers osborne uk tour

Natalie Osbourne

Brothers Osborne reintroduced themselves in 2023 with their self-titled album — and now they’re bringing their new music to fans.

The Grammy-winning country music duo featuring brothers John and TJ Osborne announced a major tour for spring/summer 2024 on Tuesday. Titled the Might as Well Be Us tour as a nod to a track off their recent album, the live dates see the group playing 35 dates across North America next year.

The ACM award winners’ upcoming string of shows in the U.S. and Canada kick off on Mar. 28 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and continue until mid-summer, as they wrap up on June 29 in Cleveland, Ohio. The tour sees performances in major cities like Atlanta, Boston, Philadelphia, San Diego and Chicago, among many other stops.

Along the way, the hitmakers will be joined by a myriad of special guests, including rising country music stars like Zach Top , Jackson Dean and Caylee Hammack , as well as genre-defying country-rock group The Cadillac Three and country-soul singer-songwriter Madeline Edwards .

News of the Might as Well Be Us Tour comes after the “It Ain’t My Fault” band received two Grammy nominations : best country album for Brothers Osborne and best country duo/group performance for the record’s single, “Nobody’s Nobody.”

On the upcoming tour, the duo will be promoting their latest release and fourth studio album, which dropped in September and was described by TJ in a press release as a “defining record” for the band. Along with the acclaimed single "Nobody Nobody," the 11-track project also features tracks like "Sun Ain't Even Gone Down Yet" and the Miranda Lambert collaboration "We Ain't Good at Breaking Up."

Ticket sales for Brother Osborne’s upcoming tour dates begin with a fan presale. Members of the duo’s The Family Fan Club can gain exclusive access at www.brothersosborne.com for the presale set to launch on Nov. 29 at 10 a.m. local time. Brothers Osborne Announce 2024 ‘Might As Well Be Us’ Tour Featuring Zach Top, Stephen Wilson Jr. & More

brothers osborne uk tour

Brothers Osborne is taking their show on the road.

The duo just announced their extensive headlining 2024 Might As Well Be Us tour, which kicks off on March 28th in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and runs through the end of June with the final show in Cleveland, Ohio.

And not only will you see a face-melting performance from TJ and John, but they’re taking out Zach Top, Stephen Wilson Jr., Caylee Hammack, Jackson Dean, The Cadillac Three and Madeline Edwards as openers on rotating dates.

Brothers Osborne released their self-titled record back in September, which was their first album in three years and the follow-up to their incredible Skeleton project.

The brothers co-wrote each track house on the album, and it’s truly a solid piece of work that represents who they are and their unique, dynamic sound that I’m sure will be a thrill to hear at a live show:

“Somebody’s gotta go on tour… it might as well be US! New dates just announced, and we’re bringing along some awesome special guests.

Family members get first access to tickets starting tomorrow at 10am, general onsale Friday! Let’s do it.”

Public on sale for tickets starts this Friday, December 1st.

Jonas Brothers reschedule 2024 European tour dates

The shows were scheduled for this spring but moved to fall

Due to unforeseen scheduling conflicts, the Jonas Brothers are shifting the European leg of The Tour to start in September. The trek begins on September 9th in Belfast with dates through October 16th in Krakow. All previously purchased tickets will be honored for the new dates and additional tickets are on sale now. Current ticketholders will receive more information via email.

“We have shifted the European dates to later this year and that is only because we have some exciting projects that we are excited to share with you at a later point. The Latin American leg of The Tour will see the band perform in Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Chile, and Argentina, along with three performances across Mexico. They will also perform for the first time in Poland, Austria, Czech Republic, Northern Ireland, Hamburg, Lyon, Munich, and Norway later this fall.
