Keith Urban has announced that he will be heading out on the road later this year on the RipCORD World Tour 2016 !

“It’s the greatest show ending on earth that I’ve ever heard,” the 48-year-old country singer said in a statement (via The Tennessean ). “That might be my next move.”

“I’m always trying to work more on how to connect and how to do things more intimately in that large setting,” Keith added. “[I want to] bring in some other elements to the show musically that are different than what we’ve done before, [think about] how to incorporate some of the old material in a new way, potentially reaching into some album tracks from way back.”

Keith ‘s tour kicks off on June 2 in Kansas City and will end in Brooklyn, N.Y. on November 19. Support for the tour will be given by Brett Eldredge and newcomer Maren Morris .

Keith Urban Announces 2016 Ripcord World Tour

Keith Urban has been teasing a "big announcement" for weeks, and on Monday, he finally revealed the big news: a 2016 world tour.

The Ripcord World Tour 2016 begins June 2 in Kansas City, Mo. and runs through more than 50 cities until November, with additional cities to be announced. Openers include Brett Eldredge and Maren Morris.

“I’m seriously chomping at the bit to kick off this tour,” Urban says in a press release. “We’ll be playing a lot of new music from RipCORD, all new production, new cities where we’ve never played … and Brett Eldredge and Maren Morris? It’s gonna be potent and unbridled!!!”

Eldredge, a huge fan of Urban, also shares his excitement to hit the road with the "Break on Me" singer.

“I was a Keith Urban fan long before I ever got this music thing going,” Eldredge says in a release. “He is an absolute powerhouse on stage — unlike anyone I've ever seen and to top it all off, one of the most down to earth people I know! The Ripcord tour is gonna be on fire! Get ready!”

Review: Keith Urban Entertains With Hit-Packed Nashville Ripcord World Tour Stop

Keith Urban kept the crowd entertained and on their feet during his two-hour show at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Friday night (Nov. 11), a stop on his Ripcord World Tour . Delivering an energetic, unforgettable show, the singer proved that elaborate stages and intricate set designs aren't necessary when you have his level of talent. Throughout the night, he seemed intent on making sure that everyone in the crowd was having fun -- but it was clear from the very first note that the person enjoying the show the most was Urban himself.

Following stellar opening performances by Maren Morris  -- who recalled how drastically her life has changed since  winning the CMA for New Artist of the Year one week prior in the same venue -- and the always-energetic Brett Eldredge , Urban took the stage and ran through an impressive list of hits. The country superstar sang straight through four songs -- "Gone Tomorrow (Here Today)," "Long Hot Summer," "Break on Me" and "Where the Blacktop Ends" -- before addressing the crowd for the first time. After bringing two women from the audience up onstage, one of whom was eight months pregnant, and taking selfies with both of them, Urban promised the crowd that they were in for an unforgettable evening.

"It's about kicking off your shoes, letting everything outside stay outside," he admonished. "It's all about singing and dancing and standing on your chairs and letting everything go."

Urban performed another string of songs, including his No. 1 hit "Somewhere in My Car," then paused to address the veterans in the crowd, who had chosen to celebrate the Veterans Day holiday by attending his show.

"Being able to come out and enjoy nights like this, with no curfews and no crazy things, like so many places have, is a beautiful thing," Urban noted, "and I don't take it for granted."

A performance of "Days Go By" allowed Urban to show off his vocal chops, as he started by singing the song a cappella with two of his band members. For "We Were Us," which Urban recorded with Miranda Lambert  for his 2013 record  Fuse , Urban invited Morris back to the stage to sing Lambert's part, while he performed "The Fighter" with a virtual version of Carrie Underwood on the big screens.

From a second stage at the back of Bridgestone Arena, Urban faced the audience members in the venue's upper levels and sang "You Look Good in My Shirt;" after playing one of his numerous guitar solos, he removed his guitar, signed it and gave it to a lucky fan. Eldredge joined Urban on that small stage to sing "Someone Like You," and then both men returned to the main stage for "Who Wouldn't Want to Be Me."

As confetti poured over the crowd, Urban closed the night with his recent No. 1 hit "Wasted Time" -- but thankfully, he wasn't quite finished yet, and he had a surprise up his sleeve. The Aussie's encore included an acoustic version of "Hallelujah," in memory of the recently deceased Leonard Cohen, as well as "Stupid Boy" and "Memories of Us," which Urban dedicated to "anybody in love, and to my wife." Then, he brought out  Eric Church . To thunderous applause, Church performed his own recent hit " Record Year " (which readers can watch below), and the two stars closed out the night with their duet " Raise 'Em Up ."

Urban's North American  Ripcord World Tour leg wraps up on Saturday (Nov. 19) in Brooklyn, N.Y. In December, he'll head Down Under with Underwood for several shows, then return to the States to headline the Jack Daniel’s Music City Midnight: New Years Eve in Nashville  event with Styx , A Thousand Horses ,  Charlie Worsham  and more. Keith Urban Announces New 2016 Tour and Album

Keith Urban ‘s 2016 tour will reach over 45 US cities, plus Toronto. Additional legs of the tour are expected. Urban told Billboard, “Initially we’re just going to get to Canada and Australia, but I think hopefully we’ll be able to extend out. I’d love to get back to Europe. It’s been a little while since we played there.”

The title of the tour will be Ripcord, the same name as the album. Brett Eldredge and newcomer Maren Morris are scheduled to open all performances. Tickets go on sale for some markets starting January 29, 2016.

Keith Urban to Join The Voice as Mega Mentor for Season 25 Before Releasing New Album

The Voice is adding another star to season 25!

On Monday, NBC announced Keith Urban will join the hit reality singing competition series starting April 8 as a mega mentor for the performers who've made it through the battle rounds as they prepare for knockouts.

The Grammy-winning Australian country star, 56, will appear on The Voice alongside its current panel of coaches: Chance the Rapper , Dan + Shay , John Legend and Reba McEntire .

Urban has previously appeared on The Voice as former coach Blake Shelton 's advisor during season 15. He was also a coach on the series' Australian version for seasons 1, 10 and 11.

Aside from his duties on the show, Urban is gearing up to release a new album featuring his recent singles, "Straight Line" and "Messed Up as Me." The forthcoming project will serve as a follow-up to 2020's The Speed of Now Part 1 .

Previous mega mentors on The Voice have included Wynonna Judd , Ed Sheeran , Snoop Dogg , Usher , James Taylor , Taylor Swift and others.

Last year, Urban returned to American Idol as a mentor for the show's season 21 finale after serving as a judge from seasons 12 to 15. At the time, he spoke to PEOPLE about his excitement toward working with the talented contestants.

"To be able to come in as a mentor, and play as well, is incredible," he said. "That was home for me for several seasons, and the mentoring part is probably one of the things I always enjoyed the most, getting to work with the artist one-on-one."

Before season 25 of The Voice officially kicked off in February, Dan + Shay spoke to PEOPLE about the country-heavy lineup of coaches this time around.

“This year it's crazy because we have the queen of country music. I mean  Reba  is on there, and it's a very intimidating thing because she's… Reba,” Shay Mooney, 32, said. “I mean, when you have one name, that's how you know you really made it!"

“[But] we got a double chair,” quipped Dan Smyers, 36. “That's twice as cool as having one chair.”

They spoke further about playfully feuding with McEntire, 68, on the series. “We get heated out there on the floor. We're both country artists. We're competing for the country acts that come through  The Voice,"  said Smyers. "Everybody always wants the country acts. I feel like that's some of the best talent that's out there."

Luckily, they're all friends behind the scenes. “Hanging out with Reba is amazing. She is honestly one of the sweetest people we've ever met in our entire lives. I just can't say enough good things about her. She's always been so kind to us,” added Smyers.
