Description About T.I.G.E.R.S. Preserve

An encounter with wild animals in Myrtle Beach is more likely than one might think, and not just the ones that take place on the Atlantic Ocean. Despite all its neon-lit attractions and modern development of the area, a back-to-nature experience with tigers, leopards, chimpanzees, orangutans, wolves and other endangered species are closer than you think at T.I.G.E.R.S, a local wildlife outfit dedicated to the preservation of these majestic creatures. Featuring two facilities on the Grand Strand, T.I.G.E.R.S. allows visitors to get up close and personal with rare and endangered species. T.I.G.E.R.S. Preservation Station at Barefoot Resort in North Myrtle Beach is a free exhibit featuring live tiger cubs and other creatures where visitors can get a sneak preview of bigger and better things at the larger facility in Myrtle Beach. Located about 17 miles south of the Barefoot Landing building, T.I.G.E.R.S. Wild Encounters Preserve features a large collection of animals with lots of room to roam. Trained handlers bring the animals to the free display area where visitors can pet, feed and take photos with some of the tamer species on hand. Professional photographers and videographers are on hand to capture the magical moments of bonding between man and animal, and they are available for purchase at the end of the tour. As one of the few breedng facilities in North America, T.I.G.E.R.S. often has young cubs on site, and also breeds the rare liger (half lion, half tiger). Guests can hold a tiger cub in your arms and feed it from a baby bottle, or watch as handlers run larger animals through the paces. Many of the animals from T.I.G.E.R.S. have been used in Hollywood movies, such as the “Ace Ventura” series, and they are trained on-site by T.I.G.E.R.S, which stands for “The Institute of Greatly Endangered and Rare Species.” Tours are available on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays beginning at 10 a.m. Children 6 and under are not allowed to take part in the tour due to safety regulations. Fantastic Experience!

My wife and I did the half day package on our honey moon and it was incredible. If you are an animal lover this is something that has to go on your bucket list because you are supporting a great cause and an experience that you won't forget. We fed Bubbles (the elephant), held a baby orangutan, tiger cub, wolf pups, watched the tigers play in the water and one chase down a chunk of meat. The staff were very knowledgeable and professional and it was a very interactive program.

This was an absolutely incredible experience and worth every penny. We did the daytime safari and were there from 9-130, the first hour was a little bit of sitting around and getting to know the place, but then it is constant action at a reasonable pace. They fed us a few times and kept us entertained. The Ligers and Lynx and Wolves and Monkeys and elephant were incredible and the staff was very knowledgeable and caring. If you are in the area, book your safari! It was truly a once in a lifetime opportunity and I will recommend it to everyone!

If you're considering going to Myrtle Beach Safari. Do it!!!! I highly recommend. I fulfilled one of my biggest dreams, to hold a monkey and chimpanzee. The whole experience is incredible. You learn so much. You get to touch almost everything. I loved all of the people working there. You can see how much they love the animals.. You get to take your time with the animals. Today was seriously one of the best days of my life!. Everyone needs to experience this once in their life. Everything that's included in the Safari is amazing.. they took 300 of the most beautiful pictures and that are included in the price. Well worth it.. i can not tell you enough how much I loved this!

This was our first time and it was amazing! The staff was very friendly and always gave clear instructions. They give you drinks and snacks throughout the tour, then do pizza and chips and drinks towards the end. We did the daytime safari from 9am-1:30pm. It is expensive but you get a lot of interactions with the animals and lots to see. It down poured for about 15 minutes while we were there, meeting and learning about Bubbles the elephant. They give you umbrellas if you choose to stay out from the covering, but there is a covered area if you choose not to get rained on at all. This is definitely something that needs to be added to your bucket list!

Absolutely amazing time here! We did the night tour, and after a slow start getting everyone checked it, the tour was fantastic. You can tell the animals are truly loved here and you get to interact with so many. We can't wait to come back and do the day tour!

My family loved there entire day at the Safari and then the highlight was hanging with Bubbles and his beautiful family at there home and taking a dip in the intercostal's waterway, off the hook Awesome memories made that will never be forgotten

I waited for over a year to visit here. It did nit disappoint! The day Safari was amazing. The brought out tons of animals and gave you ample time with them. They also gave you snacks through. It was about 3 hours of pure pleasure and excitement. I have been waiting to see Angada for over a year and he was so cool and fun!! Thank you Moksha for sharing him!! Speaking of Moksha, she was a delight! Super friendly and always smiling! The night tour was fun. There was a campfire with the 2 older chimps but you didn't get to interact with. If you go to visit, which I highly recommend, plan for the day tour. You can also get a photo package which gives you a ton of great photos!!

Amazing! I wasn't sure what to expect. I thought it may be a group thing where there was no real interaction with the animals, but I was definitely wrong. I was really pleased with the amount of interaction with the animals. I won't give a play-by-play of the experience because you need to go experience it for yourself, but I will say you will not be disappointed. Yes the ticket price seems high but I feel like I really got an opportunity to do something I would never be able to do on a multi-thousand safari. This will definitely be an annual birthday tradition. There are snacks and lunch throughout. The grounds are amazing. Don't be thrown off by the dung smell when you arrive...it's just bubbles fertilizing the fields. Only downside: There may be a couple parts of the safari that would be hard for someone to completely participate in if you have trouble sitting on the ground and there are a small flight of stairs to climb (less than 10 steps). Not sure if there was a ramp. The staff is very kind and a lot of fun. They take a ton of pictures of you and those are included in the ticket price - one note is the photos are of your group so if you also want individual pics there is an additional fee. We are doing the night safari in October 2023! Can't wait!

We were most fortunate to be introduced to the wonder that is Myrtle Beach Safari. We enjoyed both the Tiger Palace Overnight Stay and then the Chimpanzee Paint and Play the next day. Doc, Kody, Tila, Sarah, Rob, Alice and Rikki are not only wonderful hosts, they encourage questions and want guests to not only enjoy but also learn. All of the animals are part of an extended family. Our interactions with the animals, from feeding magnificent tigers, having a fun breakfast with Bubbles (elephant) to playing with chimpanzees, lemurs and wolf pups were, frankly, emotional. There was much more interaction beyond my short description above. It's just too much for words. In 24 hours our understanding of what the human/animal bond can be was absolutely expanded. When you look into the eyes of a chimpanzee you see understanding and emotion; it's truly moving. If you have the opportunity to visit this magical piece of the world do so.

So I have been trying to get in touch with this place for a month. I finally get through and this lady answers and I asked her if I could ask some questions. She did not want to be bothered. This happened at 8:15 on 7/24/2023. So who we was working there or answering phones were rude as anything. Then I ask her is this a bad time and she said, what can I help you with in a very rude manner. So I was asking questions and then she let out a si with her voice like I was bothering her again. My son has been asking me to go to this place for 3 months since we booked Myrtle beach from august 12 to the 19th. Now he will be heartbroken because of the way this lady treated me. How could anyone expect me to pay $389 per person, when they get treated like I just was. Absolutely terrible. Maybe someone can explain to me why this happens.

A wonderful experience for everyone! When I was gifted this experience from a family member I was so excited to go as I have heard of this safari tour before! Not only did I get to meet some amazing animals eye to eye, but I also got the chance to interact with them in a way that was so special and memorable! The staff - incredible! They're top notch and you could tell that these animals are their entire lives! A very family run preserve it's no secret that these animals have all the love they could possibly need and more! The way they love and interact with each other and the animals is worth seeing as well! It's just beautiful! Thank you! I've been on many animal adventures in the past, but nothing has been quite like this! I want to gush about all of the things that happened on the tour, but that would just not be fair to anyone who will be experiencing this safari for the first time! It's a must see/must do, and worth every dollar! (Plus not to mention all the things they do for animals all over the world!) Let them guide you through an exciting adventure that is sure to fill all your animal loving needs!

The most amazing experience my husband and I had ever done...it was the highlight of our trip to Myrtle Beach area...tour cost goes toward TIGERS Preservation in helping with endangered species. ..sad to say only about 3,000 tigers left in the wild...highly recommended. ..hands-on, up close intervention with AAA+ staff

This is our second time here and it was as fabulous as the first time...even with the rainfall. It's nice to see theses beautiful creatures so well cared for and in a peaceful, private surrounding. There is always something new to learn about the animals and their challanges in the wild. I'm now very conscious about the products I buy so that it will not contain Palm Oil. As the use of palm oil increases in products, the remaining habitats for these wonderful creatures are decreasing around the world from harvesting that ingredient.

For the third time in 2 years the staff at T.I.G.E.R.S Preserve has amazed us. It is worth every penny and more. My daughter and I decided to give a tour to her Grandmother for Christmas. She has heard about it for almost a year now and has now experienced everything we talk about. She already said she will be back again this summer. You will never understand how amazing it is until you experience it. To be able to hold tigers and lions and chimps and gibbons and Wolf cubs and ligers and a serval and touch an elephant where else can you do this! Absolutely AMAZING! Thank you to the entire staff for making yet another day so memorable!

The TIGERS vip safari tour will be the GREATEST day of your life. I am looking forward to going back again. To get to spend time with baby tigers, ligers and chimps in addition to seeing these grown beautiful animals in an environment where they are loved and happy is just a dream come true.

My 6 year old granddaughter loved this experience. We had a ball holding the animals and monkey kisses! Seems expensive but turned out well worth the price and we will do it again next vacation. Very informative and well presented. Feeding the elephant was intimidating but fun. The well planned snacks and drinks were a nice touch also. Don't miss this great hands on tour.

TIGERS Preservation Station

Barefoot Landing is a popular location for shopping, dining and various attractions. It is also the home of a free wildlife and living tiger museum in the T.I.G.E.R.S Preservation Station . Not only are visitors encouraged to enjoy the museum at no cost, but they also get to see some of the world’s most rare tigers. The Bengal tiger, Siberian tiger and Royal White Bengal tiger can all be viewed in their outdoor environment. They also have a Golden Tabby tiger which is the most rare tiger in the world.

Tiger trainers are available to answer questions and provide fascinating information about these beautiful feline creatures. Apes are also among those animals at the Preservation Station. As an opportunity to allow visitors to help support their efforts of conserving and breeding tigers, a photographer is always on hand to take pictures of visitors and their families or friends snuggling up face to face with a baby tiger or an ape. The cost of $59 is pretty pricey for one 8 x 10 shot, but when you consider that you actually get up close and hold one of these wondrous creatures, it’s hard to put a price on it. Guests are happy to know that the proceeds go to help the preservation of the tigers. Be sure to check for coupons as you’re visiting the Grand Strand for discounts. They can be found in the Monster and Sunny Day coupon books.

There is another option available that will greatly enhance your experience at T.I.G.E.R.S. In addition to the Preservation Station at Barefoot Landing, they also have a 50-acre preserve in Myrtle Beach that offers the Wild Encounters Tour. Those people who take part in this preserve are almost speechless as they describe their time spent getting to know the tigers, leopards, orangutan, wolves and chimpanzees.

This adventure will be a once in a life time event for most who choose to go. The price is an extravagant $199 per person. But those who report back say that it was more than worth the cost. Photo and video opportunities are also available at the preserve. As you go through the tour, professional photographers will take studio quality pictures and videos of your experience. If you choose to purchase the photo package, they will take $40 off the cost of your tour and of every person in your party. This will lower the price of each person in your group to $159. You will still pay for the pictures, but at least part of it will come off the tour cost. The local coupon books offer $20 off the price for each person in your group. Be sure to use those to make the price a bit more affordable.

One 8 x 10 picture per group will come with the price of your tour. What you would actually purchase would be the Photo CD at a cost of $125 if purchased in advance. The CD is a professional portfolio that includes pictures of each individual in the group with the animals, group pictures with the animals, candid shots of your group throughout the tour and pictures of the animals. So in the cost of the CD you will receive hundreds of photos, along with the right to reproduce them for printing. There will also be a Video DVD of your tour that costs $125, but if you purchase this along with the Photo CD, the cost is only an additional $25. So for $150 you will get both the CD and DVD. These prices only apply if you purchase them in advance of the day of your tour. The price goes up if purchased on the tour day. Yes, all the photos, videos and price of admission are expensive, but do remember that they use this as a means of raising money to support their endangered species friends.

Children must be at least 6 years old to go on the tour. You will not be able to bring cameras or cell phones. Be sure to leave jewelry such as bracelets and chains behind in a safe place. Also, do not wear white clothes, dresses or skirts, and do wear closed toe shoes.

This is a wonderful and rare opportunity to create a memory that will be treasured throughout the lives of you, your children, grandchildren and friends. T.I.G.E.R.S. has donated over $200,000 to the native homes of the tigers in Asia and Africa through their international conservation programs.

T.I.G.E.R.S. is the most exciting animal adventure ever. We can provide you with live educational shows ranging from Zoological Presentations to Broadway Productions. We will astound your audience with our inventive shows that demonstrate how the wild animals of the world and man can coexist. We will give you the opportunity to learn everything you may have ever wanted to know about a particular species through our very special kind of wildlife presentation. Through our presentations you meet the world's largest variety of trained big cats along with Those Amazing Animal Actors from your favorite movies and television commercials. With T.I.G.E.R.S you will observe and learn about many rare and unique animals, in a new and completely different way.

In our shows you will not see animals sleeping or pacing in cages, as you may find in "traditional" zoos. Instead you will have a look at some of the most magnificent creatures on Earth up close and uncaged. Here you will witness animals having fun playing with their handlers and performing natural behaviors, not the circus type tricks seen in many animal shows. You can see and photograph the animals doing all the natural activities that they would normally do in the wild from climbing to jumping, balancing to running. Our shows are not only educational, they are considered to be one of the most entertaining live animal shows available today.

The animals at T.I.G.E.R.S. act as ambassadors for the rest of their species so that we may learn more about them and ways to help save them. As the great naturalist Didium said,

"In the end we will conserve only what we love. We will love only what we understand. We will understand only what we are taught."

T.I.G.E.R.S. performs their educational wildlife program throughout the year for hundreds of thousands of people. The IronPigs, as you might have guessed, have a thing for bacon. They also have a thing for, well, just about every kind of food. So robust is the Lehigh Valley concessions scene that the team maintains a standalone website dedicated entirely to in-park offerings. One of several new additions this year is the Sweet Pig Burger, which gets the “sweet pig” part of its moniker from the black peppercorn candied bacon it’s topped with. It also includes candied jalapeños and is served on a brioche bun.

Charcuterie boards have had what they call a moment in what they call the foodie social media world. The Whitecaps, perennial concessions pioneers, have taken the craze to a new level with an assortment of fried deliciousness. The Frycuterie Box, served in a pizza box, includes waffle fries, “mini mashers,” cheese curds, jalapeño bacon firecrackers and a minimum of three sauces (“rich nacho cheese, tangy BBQ sauce, and zesty chili”).

The RockHounds are ready to get serious about the jape, and fans of hot dog-based culinary shenanigans will reap the benefits.

A number of creative takes on pork roll items will be available, and the BlueClaws are also serving up the classic – pork roll, egg and cheese on a roll. Breakfast and baseball go well together any time.

Vegetarian Fusion Bowl

It was not so long ago that vegetarians, like many people with specific dietary restrictions or preferences, could reasonably describe their dinner options at sporting events along a spectrum of “fairly limited” to “virtually nonexistent.” Those days are behind us, and nothing illustrates that fact quite so vibrantly as Albuquerque’s Vegetarian Fusion Bowl. A dish that will likely appeal to omnivores as well, it’s built around a plant-based pork substitute and features crispy vegetables, kimchee, cilantro, jalapeños, pickled onions, a creamy avocado drizzle and a hoisin-ginger-soy sauce blend served atop rice. Who’s drooling?

Timber Rattler fans have known and loved the team's cinnamon sugar donut holes for a few years now. This year, Wisconsin is offering a dizzyingly intriguing innovation on them. The Rally Cap Injectable Donut Holes are warmed and tossed in the standard cinnamon-sugar blend, but also given an injection of raspberry sauce, chocolate sauce or Bavarian cream. Any two injections are covered with purchase of the donut holes, and all three can be had for an extra $2.50. The “Rally Cap” in question is the souvenir helmet in which these bad boys are served.

Some days there’s just not enough ice cream or candy. The Saints, saints that they are, are working to make sure nobody ever has one of those days at CHS Field. The Saints Sundae includes THREE full-sized candy bars of the top-shelf variety -- Skor, Snickers and 3 Musketeers -- as well as Oreos, Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups, caramel, fudge, whipped cream and a cherry on top. Your ice cream options are chocolate, vanilla or both, and, of course, the base-bowl can be collected and used whenever you want to attempt to recreate this transcendental experience at home.
