San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 17, 2016 -- America’s most fun filled Travel and Adventure Show took place March 5th at the Santa Clara Convention Center! This year, Taiwan Tourism Bureau in San Francisco partnered up with China Airlines, EVA Airways, Air & Sea Travel, Lion Travel, Marisan Travel along with Taiwanese food companies Comebuy Drinks and Hsin Tung Yang to showcase a brand new Oh! Bear themed Taiwan Pavilion. The new booth design features an inviting and comfortable environment for visitors to freely inquire useful travel information.

According to Ms. Sylvia Yu, Director of Taiwan Tourism Bureau in San Francisco, 2015 is a fruitful year for Taiwan Tourism. The arrival of the 10 millionth tourist marked a milestone in Taiwan’s tourism sector and altogether contributed NT$445 billion (US$13.56 billion) to Taiwan’s foreign exchange income. This success only indicates a new beginning of the ongoing marketing effort to promote Taiwan Tourism. Taiwan Tourism is highly praised by the international press including Lonely Planet featuring Taiwan as one of the “Best valued destinations for 2015”, “Where to go in 2016: Top 16 up-and-coming destinations” by CNN Travel, and “12 emerging travel destinations that you have to visit in 2016” by Business Insider. Taiwan Tourism Bureau caters to different tourists' needs and partners with quality local travel tour operators to provide customized travel packages. These tour products feature the Bureau's “Time for Taiwan” 6 major tourism themes, bringing tourists exciting experiences of Taiwanese culture, LOHAS, shopping, gourmet foods, ecological systems, and intoxicating romantic scenery. They are also designed along 4 major events such as the Taiwan Lantern Festival, Taiwan Summer Solstice 235, Taiwan Cycling Festival, and Taiwan Hot Spring & Fine-Cuisine Carnival. Backpackers make the best use of the Tour Taiwan Facebook fan page and online travel agencies to plan their travels utilizing the “Taiwan Tourism Events” calendar or app, Taiwan Tour Bus, Taiwan Fun Cards and Taiwan Tourist Shuttle Bus services. The goal is to make Taiwan a fun, convenient and friendly tourist destination."

Taiwan Tourism Bureau arranged a series of Taiwan themed activities. At the Global Beats Stage, there was a Taiwanese music performance with traditional instruments. Event goers enjoyed the authentic bubble milk tea and pineapple pastry at the Taiwan Pavilion, received limited edition hand crafted Monkey lanterns giveaway, and met the Taiwan Oh!Bear as well as taking pictures with the giant Xiao Long Bao display! As grand prizes at the booth raffle, China Airlines and EVA Air both gave away two sets of round trip tickets from San Francisco to Taipei! Captivating Results

Through ideation and creative design, Spritz developed and managed a comprehensive branding & activation strategy at the Sonoma International Film Festival. Throughout the five-day festival, we executed a “Taste of Taiwan” through exclusive naming rights to the Taiwan Tourism Bureau Theater and the Taiwan Tourism Bureau Lounge, where guests experienced Taiwanese delicacies, beverages, and an exclusive Kavalan whisky tasting. A fully-branded 20 ‘x10 ‘ activation was also negotiated in the SIFF Backlot Hospitality tent for premier exposure to VIP guests, media, sponsors, filmmakers, and on-site talent.

Spritz designed and produced decor, signage, and premium items for branding throughout TTB venues and activation spaces, and managed equipment orders and delivery, load-in, and set up for all activation programs.

Spritz secured press coverage for Taiwan Tourism Bureau, developed consistent messaging, and coordinated interviews which generated significant exposure and media impressions.

Taiwan Tourism Bureau partnered with three special guests: Joey Chou , successful Taiwanese-American illustrator who has worked for notable companies such as Disney, Netflix, and Warner Bros, Jamie Tung , Taiwanese-Canadian pastry chef and founder of Buttermere Pâtisserie, and Dorothy Chiang , the representative for the "Future" train, the award-winning Taiwan's tourist train that was featured on CNN Travel.

Attendees were taken through a three-part program with demonstrations from each guest that gave attendees the opportunity to learn more about Taiwan's family-friendly activities. From its bustling cities, to its relaxing beaches and scenic adventures, Taiwan is an ideal destination for family travel. The event called out a variety of family friendly attractions and travel experiences such as the Taipei Zoo, Sun Moon Lake , Night Markets, and train travel, and more!

There were approximately 45 attendees who joined to increase their knowledge about Taiwan's family friendly offerings. Prior to the event, attendees received gift boxes with goodies such as a toy Taiwanese train, custom Taiwan family-travel coloring book and more. During the event, attendees followed as the special guests called out various objects in the box and spoke more about each offering.

To celebrate, a sweepstake is held on the Taiwan Tourism Bureau's official Instagram page @taiwantourism_na from August 4 to August 19 . To enter the sweepstakes, download the Taiwan illustration coloring page and color, paint, or decorate the illustration to make it your own art. Then post a photo of your art to Instagram Story with hashtag #ColoringMyTaiwan .

The Director of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau San Francisco office, Linda Lin , said, "Through these interactive events, we have the opportunity to maintain communications with niche groups of journalists and content creators and provide them with travel inspiration relevant to their audience. Taiwan adheres to all health and hygiene regulations, providing safety for travelers. We're looking forward to warming up the U.S. market through the variety of activities in preparation of the border reopening."

Taiwan has been actively monitoring the global situation and gradually easing the restrictions. Beginning on July 25 , foreign nationals could apply for entry into Taiwan by volunteering, international exchanges, working holidays, etc. More information could be found on  Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) in the United States.

Welcome to Taiwan

  • Decrease font size

The Tourism Administration has worked hard to highlight Taiwan to the world amid increasing international competition during the current post-pandemic revival in global tourism. In 2023, Taiwan was once again ranked among the world’s top-three non-OIC tourist destinations in the Global Muslim Travel Index (GMTI), and was named as a 2023 “Favorite Adventure Destination” by US-based web publisher Trazee Travel. In addition, stories from six of Taiwan’s national scenic area administration (NSAA) offices were recognized among the Top 100 at the Global Green Destination Day Conference. In March 2024, two NSAA offices received “Green Destinations Top 100 Story Awards” at the International Travel Fair Berlin (ITB).

Taiwan is a unique alpine island with a diversity of topographies, ecologies and cultures. Its people are friendly and enthusiastic. Taiwan’s island-circling railway lines and bicycle trails, as well as the national greenways traversed by its ancestral peoples, are all important tourism resources. The Tourism Administration has attracted the attention of international tourists with its "Mountains, Waters, and Fun Around the Island" campaign. In addition, it is promoting 2024 as the year of “Round-Island Fun in Taiwan” to welcome tourists from near and far to Taiwan through all four seasons.

In line with international trends, the Tourism Administration is also promoting themes such as 1) implementing “Sustainable Taiwan” in its scenic area management, 2) enhancing tourism software and hardware, 3) building and shaping the Taiwan tourism brand, and 4) developing Taiwan into a unique tourism destination.

Taiwan's natural features, culture and technical development all support inbound tourism. Visitors can experience a wide variety of traditional celebrations, religious practices and ethnic cultures. Taiwan welcomes friends from all over the world. Regardless of age or interests, an attractive itinerary awaits. Discover Taiwan and enjoy a new and interesting travel experience!

Taiwan Lantern Launch for the Traveler’s Dream

  • Copy Link copied

San Francisco, Jan. 25, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Taiwan has a story to tell. To raise awareness about Asia’s off-the-radar destination while travelers are dreaming about future travel plans, Taiwan Tourism Bureau has launched a campaign for Bay Area residents.

One of the world’s safest — and most beautiful — destinations, Taiwan is seeking its rightful place on the wish lists of fun-lovers and adventure-seekers yearning to return to globe trotting. Fifteen new videos such as “Explore Taiwan’s Food Scene with Hailey and Adam” give a taste of escapes into the lush greenery of this unexplored island nation, each presented in a 60-second snackable bite.

Taiwan Tourism has teamed up with Buzzfeed, Instagram and YouTube influencers for guided mini-adventures that highlight several of Taiwan’s most appealing attributes:

  • Outstanding Affordability
  • Safe, Green & Clean Environment
  • Awesome Culinary Traditions
  • Gold Card Stays and Covid Success
  • Extraordinary Culture & People

Taiwan is the perfect destination for visitors traveling with the most precious of cargo: a fistful of wishes to launch into the sky at one of the island’s glorious lantern festivals.

Linda Lin, director of the Taiwan Tourism Bureau in San Francisco said, “‘Escape to Taiwan’ to launch your personal wishes. Our safe and friendly island is a dreamy destination, but it needn’t be only a dream. Everyone is so proud of Taiwan’s track record in staying healthy and it’s our wish to share that success with American visitors later in 2021.”

Until that moment arrives, we’re sharing Taiwan-themed wishes for inspiration.

  • A wish to climb Yushan, highest peak in Northeast Asia
  • A wish to cycle around the island once known as Isla Formosa, or “beautiful island”
  • A wish to admire, preserve and protect 400 species in the “butterfly kingdom”
  • A wish to dive into oyster omelets at midnight at a Taiwan Night Market
  • A wish to ride the Taiwan High Speed Rail at 186 miles per hour from the north to the south of the island
  • A wish to join the Mazu Pilgrimage, one of the world’s biggest religious festivals
  • A wish to hear the boom & sizzle of the “Taipei 101 Fireworks” on New Year’s Eve

And a wish to Escape to Taiwan...
