Journey to celebrate 50th anniversary with 30 shows in 2024: See where they're headed

Journey is continuing the celebration of its five-decade career with a run of 2024 shows.

The 50 th Anniversary Freedom Tour kicks off Feb. 9 in Biloxi, Mississippi and will play 30 dates in North America through April 29 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. local time on Sept. 29 via ticketmaster.com.

Toto, which supported Journey on their tour earlier this year to celebrate their "Freedom" album, will again join Journey founder, guitarist Neal Scho n, keyboardist Jonathan Cain, lead singer Arnel Pineda, keyboardist Jason Derlatka, drummer Deen Castronovo and bassist Todd Jensen as show openers.

Journey's tour finds the Rock & Roll Hall of Famers tearing through a set list of anthems including "Any Way You Want It," "Faithfully," "Be Good to Yourself" and, of course, "Don't Stop Believin'."

When "Freedom" arrived in July 2022, Schon told USA Today that the album title was originally tapped for the band's 1986 release, "Raised on Radio," but then-singer Steve Perry didn't like it, "so we sat on it for many years … when we were tossing around album titles said, why not just call the whole thing 'Freedom?' It's for the times right now."

Schon was also sanguine when reflecting on the band’s legacy.

"It’s quite an accomplishment and I’m very proud of what we’ve done and how we’ve gotten through emotional and personnel changes and survived," he said. "It’s pretty mind-boggling but also a lot of hard work."

October 17, 2022 – One of the most legendary rock bands of all time, JOURNEY, announces the continuation of their highly successful tour with the 50th Anniversary Celebration Freedom Tour 2023 featuring, very special guest TOTO. Since the group's formation in 1973, JOURNEY has earned 19 top 40 singles, 25 gold and platinum albums, and has sold over 100 million albums globally. Hello, Madden NFL Mobile Fans!

First and foremost, thank you all for playing Madden NFL 22 Mobile! We feel the excitement from you each year and we know how passionate you are about the game.

In this edition of Gridiron Notes, we are going to discuss the Journeys & Weight Room in Madden NFL 23 Mobile. On 7/27/22, Game Designer Stefan joined the Madden Mobile Segment LIVE and discussed what users can accomplish in the Weight Room and how Journeys will work throughout the season!

Stefan started with Journeys because it’s a mode familiar to users who have played Madden NFL 22 Mobile and will play an important role throughout the upcoming season.

Journeys, at the highest level, are the place where a user is going to measure their team's growth and progress throughout the duration of Madden NFL 23 Mobile. As you increase your OVR and progress in all the various modes in Madden NFL 23 Mobile, you want to make sure you come in and complete each Journey challenge to collect rewards along the way. Each map will contain 30 one-time events that can reward Coins, XP, Training Points, Pro Packs, and Madden Cash! Once you complete all 30 events on a stage, you will unlock the next Journey stage of 30 events. Remember, each Journey event is locked until you complete the previous Journey challenge and reach the Team OVR Requirement. Keep up the pace and stay tuned as old Journey stages will be removed and new Journey stages will be added throughout the season!

Journeys are going to be an important part of Madden NFL 23 Mobile all year. The next feature Stefan discussed, Weight Room, can help you complete them and everything else in Madden NFL 23 Mobile!

The Weight Room is a system in which users exchange a currency called Weights and Coins for a limited-time OVR boost. Users can then choose various percentages of OVR boost to apply to specific positional groups to help give them an edge in their preferred playstyle. Each Weight Room boosts can be upgraded from a 24-hr duration up to a weeklong duration. These upgrades in duration will cost resources to acquire. The Weight Room is especially important because it can be used to give a user's team just enough OVR gain to complete OVR requirements in Journeys and Seasonal Events.

Weights are a new currency to Madden NFL 23 Mobile and can be earned and purchased in several different ways. The primary way to acquire them via gameplay is in Arena and Leagues. Whether It’s competing in Daily or Core Arena, users will be receiving weights as a reward for gameplay. You will also receive them if you participate in a league with friends or other users via weekly league achievements and seasonal rewards (More on this next week). Outside of gameplay, users will also be able to acquire weights via trades. By trading in players and resources, users will be able to acquire the weights they need at any point. Finally, users will also be able purchase weights in the store for Madden Cash.

The team is hard at work at designing and developing new features to make the game more fun. Stay tuned, we hope to bring a lot more to you later this season.

November 15, 2021 – One of the most legendary rock bands of all time, JOURNEY, announces their Freedom Tour 2022, featuring very special guests BILLY IDOL and  TOTO. The diamond-selling Rock & Roll Hall of Famers will take the stage in 40 cities across North America with their catalog of global chart-topping hits, including  "Don't Stop Believin”, "Any Way You Want It", "Faithfully", "Lights" and more. The tour includes an Indianapolis stop at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on May 5, 2022, where the band will be joined by Toto.

The tour comes after the band previously announced a brand new six-show Las Vegas residency, running from December 1 to December 11 at the Theater at Virgin Hotels.

Presented by AEG Presents, the Freedom Tour 2022 begins February 22 in Pittsburgh, PA – making stops in Los Angeles, Dallas, Nashville and more – before wrapping May 11 in Hartford, CT.  Very special guest and Rock and Roll icon Billy Idol will join JOURNEY on all dates from February 22 through April 5. An anthemic arena rock outfit that achieved massive success in the 1970s and ’80s, Journey’s blend of melodic hard rock and epic balladry has resulted in 25 gold- and platinum-certified albums. The band has gone through several phases since its inception, with its greatest commercial success in the late 1970s through the early 1980s with a series of power ballads and songs such as “Don’t Stop Believin'”, “Any Way You Want It”, “Faithfully”, “Open Arms”, “Separate Ways”, and “Wheel in the Sky”.

Toto is a Grammy Award winning rock band that formed in Los Angeles, California in 1977. Composed entirely of seasoned studio musicians, Toto released their self-titled debut in October 1978, selling two million copies on the power of their top ten hit “Hold the Line.” Toto IV (released in 1982) featured the number one hit “Africa” as well as the top ten single “Rosanna.” Toto IV went multi-platinum and earned several Grammy Awards including 1983 Album of the Year and Record of the Year (for “Rosanna”).

JOURNEY was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in 2017, and 2018's co-headlining tour with DEF LEPPARD was the band's most successful tour to date, landing them in the Top 10 year-end touring chart with more than 1 million tickets sold, and earning them the prestigious Billboard "Legends Of Live" touring award. March 2019 saw the release of "Escape & Frontiers Live In Japan" , a live DVD/CD set from their concert at the Budokan in Tokyo featuring the band's first-ever performances of the albums "Escape" and "Frontiers" in their entirety. Clear Bag Policy

Fans are strongly encouraged to not bring any types of bags to the North Charleston Coliseum & PAC, however, outlined below are types of bags that will be permitted:

- Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC and do not exceed 14” x 6” x 14” - One-gallon plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar) - Small clutch bags, with or without a handle or strap, not to exceed 4.5” x 6.5” - An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at designated entrances specifically for this purpose. - Diaper bags will be allowed for families with infants and toddlers. Child must be present.

Prohibited items include, but are not limited to, purses larger than a clutch bag, coolers, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, seat cushions, luggage of any kind, computer bags and camera bags, or any bag larger than the permissible size.

Fans will continue to be able to carry items allowed into the venues such as non-professional cameras, binoculars, and smartphones as long as they are in their pockets or one of the approved bags outlined above.
