Step into a world of nostalgia and immerse yourself in the rich history of Coronation Street at our all-new permanent exhibition. Building on the success of the Coronation Street Tour, this exciting addition allows fans to continue their journey down memory lane. Here, you’ll discover a treasure trove of new replica sets, props, and costumes that bring Coronation Street to life.

Would highly recommend the tour with its new additions including the precinct, police station, exhibition of artefacts and replicas of the interior of the Rovers Return and Roy’s Rolls.

Our guide Sid was excellent – amusing and very informative. All the staff we came across were enthusiastic and friendly.

We had a lovely time, our guide Daniel was brilliant, very informative about the show past and present. We loved our time there had plenty of opportunities for photos, I enjoyed the exhibition at the end seeing all the outfits from characters and the rovers and Roy’s rolls set up. Fantastic would highly recommend.

The Coronation Street tour is great for fans of the show. You get to walk along the famous cobbles and see the outside sets. We chose to go on a star tour and met Andy Whyment who plays Kirk. It was good to see some peices from the set too. Our tour guide Callum was very knowledgeable and made our tour enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this tour.

Coronation Street: The (New!) Tour

The UK’s longest running and, arguably, most beloved TV show, Coronation Street has aired almost 10,000 episodes, featured over 4,000 actors and, since it first appeared in December 1960, has kept viewers on the edge of their seats with 104 weddings, 43 births and 173 deaths! With a unique balance of gripping, daring storylines and charming wit, the show has provided decades of entertainment to audiences in the UK and, increasingly, worldwide.

Now, you have the chance to stroll the cobbles and get up-close to some of the most iconic landmarks in TV history. From the Rover’s Return to Roy’s Rolls, from Webster’s Autos to Underworld, and from The Kabin to the brand new ' Victoria Street ' set extension featuring Weatherfield’s own Costa Coffee and Co-op, you can experience the intricate details that contribute to the show’s wonderful authenticity... there are even missing cat posters taped to lampposts!

The set’s use started in 2014 following an ambitious move from the original site alongside Manchester’s Granada Studios on Quay Street so it only seems right that the public are able to marvel at it by joining 2018’s brand new tour - the tirelessly welcoming, infinitely knowledgeable and suitably witty tour guides present the facts in an engaging manner, sharing intimate secrets of the new set’s homage to the show’s history as the tour progresses. They encourage visitors to capture the special occasion of the tour on camera and invite you to make yourself truly at home on the fully operational TV set. Ultimately, the guides genuinely appear to be members of the Coronation Street crew.

An absolute must for Corrie fans and a wonderful event for less familiar people alike, the tour will fascinate you, warm you and leave you feeling privileged to have entered into a palace of TV royalty!

Admission is £35 per person for the 60-80 minute tour.

There are professional photo opportunities available along the way and your memento of your unforgettable tour is available for purchase at the end of the tour for £10 (or 2 for £15).

Coronation Street legend, Barbara Knox, took centre stage on a break from filming as she led fellow cast members in celebrating the opening of the new 'Coronation Street Experience.'  The festivities kicked off with an unforgettable moment as Barbara sliced into a jaw-dropping 40-kilogram replica sponge cake of the iconic Rovers and Kabin.

This stunning creation, handcrafted over a staggering 50 hours, symbolises the grand opening of the brand-new 'Coronation Street Experience,' at the home of the show at MediaCity, Greater Manchester.

The recently transformed visitor centre now serves as the ultimate destination for every Corrie fan, offering access to replica Rovers and Roy’s Rolls sets, iconic costumes, historic props and a dedicated Corrie shop.

“We’re thrilled to be able to offer fans of Coronation Street an even more immersive experience with the launch of the Coronation Street Experience and can’t wait for our first guests to arrive this weekend,” said Neil Currie, Guest Experience Manager.

The award-winning 90-minute tour has been hugely popular since it launched in 2014, attracting fans not just from the UK but from all over the world. The new exhibition floor will complement the tour, alongside a cinema, café and retail space, creating the perfect ‘Coronation Street Experience’!

What happens on the day?

On arrival, the two of you will be warmly welcomed, ready for your 90-minute tour to commence. You’ll meet up with your expert guide and head on an adventure around Coronation Street’s most recognisable places. Don't forget to stop by the brand-new Coronation Street Exhibition, boasting a treasure trove of new replica sets, props, and costumes that bring Coronation Street to life.

Participant guidelines

• Under 16's must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times
• Please be aware this is an outdoor walking tour where guests will do around 5,000 steps.
• Suitable footwear is encouraged
• The experience content, equipment used and restrictions may vary

Availability

The tour is available on selected Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year.  Exclusions may apply. Dates are finalised with production two months prior.

We recommend you book at least six weeks in advance to ensure that dates are available. All bookings are subject to availability.

Please allow approx 2 hours for the full experience.

What about insurance?

The centres contracted with us hold public liability insurance. We also hold contingency liability cover. You will not be liable for accidental damage to equipment, except where damage has been caused as a result of recklessness or wilful negligence.
