The show as always was fantastic, Giorgos sang his heart out, the backing band were really good and the two female backing singers were really good singers, the repertoire was first class.

Outstanding performance as ever.. One of my favourite singers, hugely talented. I am glad he comes to the UK every couple of years so we can enjoy his great repertoire of music...

Such a great singer ,brilliant voice enjoyed listening to him and didn’t want to finish , the band was great too , Absolutely beautiful can’t wait to see him again in London .

George Dalaras | Athens | June 23 & 28

George Dalaras, the “Greek singer of five continents,” will get the summer program of the CT Garden Festival under way with a global musical journey with a set list featuring both Greek and international music.

The renowned Greek singer will be accompanied on stage by Violeta Ikari and Aspasia Stratigou.

The concert is the first of a series of concerts to be held as part of the CT Garden Festival, featuring many prominent Greek artists.

The festival is being organized by the Christmas Theater and will be held in the Galatsi Olympic Park.

The concerts start at 9 p.m. with ticket prices ranging from 15 to 25 euro depending on the seating. Tickets are available online at www.viva.gr and www.ct.gr, or by phone on 211.770.1700.

The Hellenic Museum, in conjunction with Juggernaut Entertainment and Premier Partner Intralot Australia, is proud to present George Dalaras in Concert.

George Dalaras is one of Greece’s biggest contemporary music stars and a living legend of the music industry. Rising to early-career fame for reviving rembetika – Greek blues – he is driven by a desire to share this unique sound with the world, and in doing so has built an international reputation as an icon of Greek music culture. 

Over five decades, he has released 70 albums; sold more than 20 million records; played over 500 shows around the world; and collaborated with music heavyweights including Sting, Peter Gabriel and Bruce Springsteen, among others.

Now, Dalaras will travel to Melbourne to perform an exclusive benefit concert in celebration of the Hellenic Museum’s 15th anniversary, Saturday 20 May 2023 at Margaret Court Arena.

All proceeds will support the Hellenic Museum to continue preserving and sharing the wonder of Hellenism for future generations; deliver world-class exhibitions and programs; and enter a new chapter of growth and evolution.  Every ticket sold  lays a brick in the foundation of our next 15 years.

The Hellenic Museum is a public, not-for-profit museum — and the only museum in Australia dedicated to showcasing the transformational power of Greek art, history and culture. Our mission is to share the prolific impacts of Greek history with all Australians, and to reimagine and recontextualise Hellenism in new and exciting ways.  

The Hellenic Museum is deeply connected to its diasporic roots, and committed to providing opportunities for Australian audiences to engage with Hellenic culture. “Greece on Tour” pays tribute to Mikis Theodorakis with an impressive homage in the Vienna Konzerthaus. Mikis Theodorakis was a renowned Greek composer, conductor and politician. He was born on July 29, 1925 on the island of Chios and passed away on September 2, 2021 in Athens. Theodorakis was one of the most famous representatives of the Greek music and had a significant influence on it.

In 2012 the composer was present together with Maria Farantouri at his last concert in the Vienna Konzerthaus. Now a special concert is taking place in honor of the composer. Maria Farantouri, an outstanding interpreter of Theodorakis' works, delights the audience with her powerful and sensitive voice. To this day she is THE Greek Theodorakis interpreter. Now more than ever, her concerts are a sign that Theodorakis' music is timeless and unforgettable. When Maria sings, the composer is always present. It is an opportunity to honor the deep connection between Theodorakis and Farantouri and celebrate their importance to Greek musical culture. Together with the renowned Cypriot artist Alkinoos Ioannidis, the young newcomer Alkyone and first-class instrumentalists, Farantouri will perform songs from all of Mikis Theodorakis' creative phases, including the famous Mauthausen cycle.

Experience the unforgettable music of the greatest Greek composer Mikis Theodorakis in the breathtaking setting of the Vienna Konzerthaus. An initiative of Alexandros Karozas, colleague and close friend of Mikis, who produced many of his concerts and music during the composer's lifetime.
