Eric Pryddz is a Swedish electronic house music DJ that is based in Los Angeles, California in the United States.
Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, Eric Prydz was born on 19 July 1976 and is also known by other popular names, Pryda or Cirez D. The producer and artist started to gain a lot of attention with his track “Call On Me” which featured a sample of Steve Winwood’s “Valerie.” The track charted fairly high in Germany and England, but despite it’s popularity, it had gained more attention by the “salacious” video, so Prydz tried to move away from the track and work to gain the proper recognition: for his music.
In 2006 he released a remix of Pink Floyd’s “Another Brick In the Wall, Pt. 2” entitled “Proper Education.” By 2012 Prydz released his full album via, Virgin Records, featuring all of his previously unreleased songs and other songs from his Pryda catalogue. The three-disc album titled “Eric Prydz Presents Pryda” peaked at number fourty on the charts in the UK and eighty in Belgium, however it was still his live performances that people seek out.
2014 proved to be another successful year for Prydz. He celebrated the ten year anniversary of his label, Pryda Recordings, and announced the third instalment of Eric Prydz in concert, complete with large indoor holograms.
Live reviews
Where do I begin?!
It was sublime! Eric Prydz was in beyond stellar form! This was my first time seeing him 'Live', I swear it won't be my last! The venue was perfect! Intimate really. My daughter and I were 10 wonderful feet behind him and could see every inflection of his genius musical manifestations! It was art I'm motion! He started off with one of my favs, 'Frankfurt.' I nearly came undone! His seemingly natural ability to interface with his audience is beautiful. I a 55 year old woman (I'll be 56 on Monday Nov. 7th) and came very close to cancelling this event feeling as if maybe I was too old! I'm so glad it didn't. I was well received and danced my booty OFF! His handlers were kind enough to offer myself and daughter water from the crew's personal stash! I got a gratis drink ticket from his security guard cause he said he liked my dancing! The international attendees is just what America/The World needs right now! And Eric reached US ALL!!!! I got the chance to meet Eric after the show. I was shocked he took time to talk to us! I got a hug and kiss on the cheek! And a photo!!! He asked if I enjoyed the show. What could I say but YES a Million times Yes! Humble, humane and kind he is. My 84 year old mother listens to him also! She affectionately calls him, 'That little Eric Guy.' It's not often to find such great talent and humility in the same person. Eric Prydz is one of a kind! A genuinely talented, Hell! Beyond that! He seems to have a real desire to entertain from the depths of his being! We Love You Eric!!! And Thank You ever so much from the deepest part of my Heart for sharing your Soul with all of us! God Bless you and your family! Thank You!
With Much Affection,
Theresa Pratt
P.S. A newest wanton follower of Pryda!

For contrast, the way Prydz dropped his remix of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" -- a seminal dance track -- was as undramatic as possible. When Armin van Buuren uses the same remix in his festival headlining gigs, it's often cause for fireworks and certainly functions as a dramatic peak. It's the same with "Every Day," which landed Prydz at the No. 3 spot on Billboard's Hot Dance Club chart but is presented as just another chapter in the development of the night. The man knows his way around an anti-climax. What he gained in quality and credibility he may have lost in impact, as the crowd -- observed from one of the balconies -- certainly wasn't going too wild. Prydz' mastery is his ability to command and then educate audiences who might walk into a concert with more commercial, big-room understandings of dance music. If there's a downside to not doing hand-hearts and telling audiences to sit down before blaring, obvious drops shake the walls of the venue you're DJ'ing in, it's that you risk having to touch a crowd on a deeper level than the "rage" metric too many of today's top dance acts are still trying to approach. But as a dance music observer, this writer was impressed by what's either Prydz' natural credibility or insistence on not changing his format. For fans with slightly deeper tastes, the show is a solid night of club music, an almost wordless opera with many acts, messaged and divided by visuals as much as music... For mainstreamers simply buying tickets to every "EDM" show in the tri-state area, it was probably just a fun night with plenty of Instagram-ready moments.
Eric Sheridan Prydz, perhaps Sweden's most recognisable electro/dance DJs and producer has a reputation as one of the most epic live acts currently working the circuit due to his expert merging of high quality music with surrealistic visuals. He may only have one studio album, yet he has a handful of hit singles and early EPs to choose from.
It is also worth noting that he has remixed infamous material by some of the world's most celebrated artists including Michael Jackson, Duran Duran and Pet Shop Boys. His all-consuming stage design illuminates and the waiting crowds explode in cheers of excitement. Taking his place proudly behind the decks, the party kicks in as Eric drops some of his own most loved tracks as the screens and lights begin showing fire, thunder and lightning.
Prydz is really going all out on the near biblical dance atmosphere and his crowd, or disciples are ready to surrender to him as he drops favourites such as 'Call On Me' and 'Animal'. There is no need for a hype man during Eric Prydz's show as the music gets the crowd energised and enthusiastic and when he drops his latest remix collaboration with Chvrches the whole stage just explodes in a barrage of light and sound. A tough act to follow and deservedly described as epic.
I think Eric did the best job he could despite the show was at Opera nightclub. He does not have room to set-up all of his lighting/hologram effect. So, the show lacked those highlights(not his fault.) Plus, this venue can be stuffy due to the security, and being in this part of the city. A better venue would have been The Tabernacle I had a good time, just hope he plays in better venue next time. :)
WHAT A GREAT SHOW. Eric knows how to control a crowd, gets the ready with pryda then throws down with Cirez D and mixed some Eric Prydz in there. One thing tho, if you expect him to play a fan favorite don't get your hopes up, this guys setlist is probably different every night, hell every song that I really wanted him to play he didn't end up playing which sucks but hey....he was FIREEE none the less.
Eric Prydz In Concert, EPIC. No one would be so foolish to call their concerts epic in this day an age, unless they truly were.. Last night was spectacular music. And it was a live dj set. Prydz started where the first dj left off and may be played only 2 or 3 of his own hits. I don't know where the two hours went. Highly recommended concert if you love house music.
Music and visuals were outstanding, I have never seen anyone make such good use of the lighting provided at rebel. However the crowd was terrible, not only was the venue far too oversold, the people there were not the rave crowd I was expecting, just a massive group of seemingly rich bros tryna get lit on a Friday night.
If he comes anywhere near where you live see the guy. Best producer/dj/liveact around! Verydeep and progressive. True Swedish brilliance. Highly recommend seeing Eric Prydz. Progressive as it comes. Dj hit me with those laser beams.
Fantastic concert and great venue! What an amazing light show -- the holograms and lasers were just unbelievable. Nonstop dance party! Prydz was on top of his game, and I wish I went to both the Friday AND Saturday show.
Excellent extended set. Started off the first 1.25 hours with all new tracks, and started sprinkling in older tracks. 3rd hour was tried and true banging anthems. Overall an amazing show!

Eric Prydz teases HOLO 2023 tour
Kicking off with a date at Ultra Music Festival 2023 in Miami
Eric Prydz has teased the announcement of a HOLO 2023 tour, starting at Ultra Music Festival 2023 in Miami, with the PRYDA label boss taking to Twitter to post the cryptic news. No further details are known.
Prydz is set to play Ultra Music Festival in March 2023 alongside Swedish House Mafia, REZZ, Carl Cox, and more artists.
Earlier this year, he announced the return of his HOLO live show – which debuted in Glasgow in 2018 and features 3D holograms on stage – with the audio-visual spectacular rolling into Creamfields festival 2022 at Hylands Park in June 2022. He also performed under Eric Prydz, Pryda, and Cirez D. HOLO at Belgium's Tomorrowland in July.
In August, a 4xLP limited edition pressing of Prydz's 2016 album 'Opus' went for $2,000 on Discogs . The sale happened in June, and the final amount made it the 24th most expensive item to be sold via the platform that month. The particular pressing of the album was limited to 500 copies upon its release, and was available only to people who pre-ordered the record.

Eric Prydz Teases HOLO Tour Coming In 2023
Pryda boss and visual production legend Eric Prydz has teased the announcement of an upcoming HOLO 2023 tour beginning at Ultra Music Festival in Miami.
Eric Prydz’s HOLO show has been praised as one of the most visually interesting and innovative performances in dance music with 3D images that send the attendees into an experience unlike any other. Featured effects are a giant whale floating over the audience, a hand reaching out across the crowd, and plenty of flashing lasers.
Prydz teased the 2023 tour on Twitter simply saying “Eric Prydz Presents HOLO 2023” along with a clip from one of the visuals from the show.
The HOLO show made appearances this year at huge international festivals like Tomorrowland and Amsterdam Dance Event, reigniting the buzz around his insane production skills. Not much is known about this upcoming HOLO event, but the record has shown Eric Prydz pushes the boundary of production for every show.
The famed producer has largely taken a break from releasing original music, his latest 2022 release being a remix of Anyma and Chris Avantgarde’s viral track “ Consciousness .”
Check out Eric Prydz’s HOLO tease below. There is currently no information on where he will play or when tickets will go on sale.

Eric Prydz Teases 2023 HOLO Tour
Eric Prydz has no time to lose and after a huge year, just teased his 2023 HOLO tour. We knew HOLO was coming to Ultra in March, but we weren’t sure if there would be a tour and whether we might see HOLO before Ultra. Now we have answers to both questions.
The Pryda boss posted the cryptic news on Twitter without giving further details.
Eric Prydz had an amazing 2022 post-Covid comeback tour with his iconic HOLO shows. The stops went across the scene’s biggest stages and festivals delivering a spectacular audio-visual show at Creamfields, Hylands Park, Tomorrowland Belgium, ADE in partnership with Tomorrowland , and even making a Brazilian stop .

With Prydz’s fear of flying and the heavy stage production and logistics, we can probably expect more US shows around Ultra Miami. The major European Festival will definitely be part of the 2023 HOLO tour. Where do you wanna see Eric Prydz’s HOLO in 2023 ?

Eric Prydz Hints 2023 HOLO Tour
Over this past weekend the infamous Swedish DJ and producer Eric Prydz made a major announcement regarding future shows. Prydz announced over Twitter that he will be presenting his signature “HOLO” audiovisual experience in the U.S. beginning at Ultra Miami in 2023. He limited his public announcement to his fans with a few words and only offered subtle hints.

So far little is known about the details of upcoming shows and potential future stops. With that being said we can infer that based off his tweet that “beginning” at Ultra Miami will be the start of a multi-stop U.S. and/or North American Tour. As a result this tweet came as major news to fans being that it has been several years since Eric Prydz announced a full headlining tour.
What Is HOLO?
Eric Prydz HOLO at Tomorrowland 2022
HOLO first debuted in 2018 at Braehead Arena in Glasgow, UK . This project is a variation of his live sets that includes a high production value and an immensely stimulating audiovisual experience. Throughout his career Prydz has been an artist that has operated and identified under several aliases. From Eric Prydz , to Cirez D , to Pryda , HOLO is another performance of his with a unique take.
Undoubtedly this production is unlike any other artist in the industry. What makes HOLO so special is the use of visual elements that compliment his live music. When Prydz presents his show the sets includes the use of massive multi-story holograms displayed behind the decks. With the help of his production team he portrays extraordinary immersive visuals, pictures, and videos professionally curated by digital artists. With images that correspond to the live music it is the true embodiment of spectacle. Additionally these digital displays include wildly captivating 3D elements that make his live performance an experience for fans to behold. HOLO’s production also includes the use of world class laser and light systems throughout his live performance for a stunning display.
Both fans, and fellow artists alike, remain in awe and amazement after witnessing Prydz’s HOLO show. Fellow industry tech house giants Camelphat were taken aback by his debut in Glasgow in 2018.

Live Review: Eric Prydz Presents HOLO 2023 @ Rod Laver Arena
HOLO is a mind-blowing futuristic live dance experience like no other.
Eric Prydz HOLO tour (Source: Supplied)
Platinum-selling Swedish DJ/producer Eric Prydz makes his highly anticipated return to Australia with his internationally acclaimed ‘HOLO’ show, bringing it to the southern hemisphere for the very first time.
Tonight, he plays the first of three exclusive Melbourne shows at Rod Laver Arena as part of the final weekend of Victoria’s ALWAYS LIVE celebration of live music.
DJ Sardi warms up the audience that packs in from the hot and windy Melbourne conditions. Usually, the front of the floor area closest to the stage fills up the quickest, but for this show, it’s the opposite because the best view in the house to see the full picture of all the visuals in their glory is front-on from the back of the floor area.
From the moment global dance innovator Eric Prydz begins his performance, he instantly captivates the audience by seamlessly blending tracks from his extensive catalogue of progressive house and techno into a cohesive audio-visual journey. With a jaw-dropping display of tech-forward magic and musical talent, he transports ravers to a futuristic dance concert for an immersive experience like no other.
With cutting-edge technology, including LED screens with 3D holographic effects and state-of-the-art lighting that runs across the ceiling to the stage, it’s a mesmerising and exciting sensory multi-dimensional spectacle that continues to innovate and evolve since its inception.
For visuals that vividly come out of the screen the way they do, we’d expect to have to wear some sort of 3D glasses, but the impressive production allows us to get that same experience with our very own eyes. It’s so realistic we almost want to reach out and touch them.
Don't miss a beat with our FREE daily newsletter
Synchronised perfectly with Prydz’s music, the visuals create an epic display that has us in awe of every changing moment. The production is extraordinary, from life-sized astronauts and robots to blue whales, trains and reaching hands. A sea of mobile phones fills the sold-out arena with people desperate to try and capture and share the essence of the mind-blowing visuals they’re witnessing.
Prydz’s flawless mixing showcases his ability to blend dance genres effortlessly with a series of progressive builds to control the energy in the arena at all the right moments. His masterful set ranges from uplifting progressive house anthems to dark and heavy techno tracks, taking the audience on an emotional rollercoaster.
The continuous and intense set takes us back to visuals of a star constellation between moments of song transitions and strobe lights and laser beams shoot across the arena as a song reaches its peak. The second half of the set includes some of his biggest hits to excite the audience, including Pjanoo, Every Day and Proper Education .
Eric Prydz is not your average performer, and he’s earned his success by revolutionising the event experience for electronic music fans. Few artists worldwide can match the impact of his performance style that must be seen to be believed as he transforms the arena into a breathtaking otherworldly environment that pushes the creative boundaries of live-dance music. It’s a testament to his status as one of the world's top DJ/ producers, and there are none who come close to the production value of this live show that truly lives up to its hype.
The dancefloor genius ends the performance with Opus, met with deafening applause from the arena. The iconic melody and soaring synths of the track echo throughout, creating a powerful and unforgettable moment that leaves the audience wanting more. The final visual of a robot points a remote control with a laser out at the audience before pressing the ‘Off’ switch to power down the show.
