This was definitely our favorite part of our trip to Nola. Our guide, Erik, was really knowledgeable about swamps and gators and made this a truly memorable experience!
It was an amazing experience! The boat ride itself was a thrill, seeing all the different animals in their natural habitat was impressive! The swamp was beautiful and spooky at the same time with the overhanging trees and Spanish beards. We saw alligators, raccoons, birds, swamp cows.
From beginning to end, a delightful day. The Oak Alley tour was very informative. Our swamp tour was truly outstanding. Captain Ernie is personable, knowledgeable, and an all-around terrific captain. I cannot recommend this tour and this company enough!
We had a great time. Our guide was great, answered our many questions, and seemed genuinely interested in giving us the best tour possible. The airboat was pretty comfy and good fun.

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed the swamp experience. Our boat tour guide Ernie was full of information and a good sense of humor. I definitely recommend the tour to anyone thinking about it.

Ernie was the best. A marine biologist that can answer any questions and advocates for his heritage. Truly fun and educational. Recommended to go on a sunny day. If it's cooler and cloudy it's hard to see the reptiles. Staff were very friendly and the gift shop doesn't rob you unlike the French Quarter
Our tour guide was great! The tour was Informative, historical, and interesting. We went to places we had not been before - outside the French quarter. Highly recommend the tour.
I booked the combo tour where we went to Laura Plantation and an airboat ride. Both tours were awesome!! Kyle, our guide at Laura, really new his stuff. The airboat ride was amazing and I even got to hold a baby alligator. The only thing keeping this review from a five is the musical chairs game we played with bus drivers. We were picked up then told to get on another bus then. The same thing happened after we left the plantation. I'm sure there was some master planner who knew what was going on but no one really explained this to us during so it required us to be very trusting and hope we would eventually have a ride back to our hotel. It all worked out in the end and was a great day.
Hell of a ride with Danny! Great tour even in the winter, get to bring your own beer and hold a baby gator!
We did the Oak Alley Plantation and Bayou tour. Our Bayou tour guide was awesome as was our plantation guide. I recommend the tours, but the bus driver was extremely rude when she picked us up, and her driving scared us all. She was driving 70 in a 55, constantly jumping lanes in and out of traffic cutting off other cars, even pulled in front of a trolley who layed on his horn. The road was a little rough and with her speeding each bump she hit made us come out of our seats. She was also spouting off incorrect facts about Hurricane Katrina. If you don't get Demitris for a driver you'll probably have a great time. We also did the City Tour with Darrin and this tour was awesome. Darrin is a seasoned tour guide, knows the city, and makes this tour a lot of fun with his jokes and music.
We had a phenomenal experience with Donna! She went out of her way to tell us where to eat, what to go see and do, and even dropped us at a different location than we had been picked up at! The drive out and back was interesting and didn't feel like it took over an hour to get to the plantations. She gave us great tips about our tours at the plantations themselves.
This place gets three stars for being the only tour company in New Orleans that will take you on a tour that is not contingent on the number of people that sign up. I had originally wanted to take the oak and laura plantation tour with Isabelle's tours, but was told they couldn't confirm unless six people signed up...I guess this is the NOLA way, zero professionalism. Anyhow, the Nola tour company came through for me. The guy who works in the office even gave me a ride to meet the tour bus, since my hotel was too far away. This is a meat and potatoes tour---after the bus driver picks you up, someone from the tour company checks you in, and then gets off the bus. The bus driver takes you to the plantation, blasting bad music, very very loud bad music. After dropping you off at the plantation you are given a tour by the plantation tour guide, and then you get back on the bus, and go to the next plantation. Music blasting. This is not a guided tour in which you learn about the city while on the bus. Transportation only.

About us - BUT IT'S NOT ABOUT US IS IT?
Welcome to French Quarter Phantoms. Want to get a chill up your spine, have a good laugh, be interested and learn some really cool and creepy things about New Orleans? Great! That is exactly what we will do for you.Our guests come in all shapes and sizes, and they all have one thing in common. They want the best tour in New Orleans. So – everybody claims to have the best tour guides...BUT They stop at that and don’t tell you why… That’s because anybody can put on a costume, hand you a gadget to play with and recite a script.
That's not us!
One former guest described our Master Storytellers as “the strangest bunch of real historians you will ever have the pleasure of spending time with,” and we think that’s perfect! Your tour is led by not just a guide, but a Master Storyteller! French Quarter Phantoms guides are very well educated, having earned degrees in History, Forensic Anthropology, Music, Education, Literature and Theater. Their tours are based on historical documentation. Ask them a question – they love to show off their knowledge. They have researched books, archived newspapers, police, and fire department records; they have talked to librarians, “old timers”, past residents and employees of the sites where the stories are told. What they found were murders, accidental suicides, fire victims – we uncovered their stories, how they lived, how they died and WHY they come back!
Our frightening, freaky, and friendly group of Ghost & Vampire Tour guides all have their own special way of making you laugh while sending a chill up your spine! They will make sure you know what’s creeping around in the dark and live to tell about it! Each guide’s tour is a little different. They have personally crafted your tour from recorded history and folklore to tell the stories they are the most passionate about – our tours are never scripted. Join us for tales of vampires in New Orleans and Ghosts in the French Quarter. You will be surprised what some “Nice” Ladies and Gentlemen are capable of doing! French Quarter Phantoms is locally owned and operated. Owner Cindi Richardson or Office Managers Erin Murphy and Logan Siddall are available to personally answer your questions and take your reservation seven days a week 8 am - 10 pm. We love our city and we love to share it with you. We've been walking the streets of New Orleans for money since 2006 (doing tours of course)!

French Quarter: The Vieux Carre - New Orleans, Louisiana
Often called the Crown Jewel of New Orleans, the French Quarter is one of NOLA's most historic neighborhoods. But you'll find plenty of new mixed in with the old. There’s a reimagined French Market, modern boutiques and artisan cocktails mix with beloved antique stores and old restaurants. (Antoine’s. Arnaud’s. Galatoire’s. Brennan’s – the world would be far less flavorful without you!)
Like the Creole aristocrats lining the galleries of the Historic New Orleans Collection, the French Quarter is a timeless portrait – especially come dusk when swallows glide above the fortunetellers on Jackson Square and St. Louis Cathedral’s butter-crème-colored walls reflect the fiery sunset. Ghost tours troop past mad Madame LaLaurie’s mansion while neon signs stutter to life on Bourbon Street where syrupy red Hurricanes, slosh in famed ‘go cups’– those plastic tumblers responsible for uncountable curbside parties. Night falls. Horse hooves clop, music throbs and gaslights flicker in a place full of long-told legends and those waiting to be born. Create one of your own.
