Meet our CEO

Steve Baldelli, CEO Travel Resorts of America

Steve Baldelli

Steve Baldelli started Travel Resorts in 1986 at the age of 27 after a call from his friend Jim who had found some beautiful property in Pinehurst, North Carolina after a round of golf. Steve flew down from Minnesota to come to see the land and when he got there, there were 12 unfinished RV sites, a lodge, and a hole in the ground that was supposed to be a pool. He fell in love. Steve and his partner had no idea how to run a campground, but he knew he wanted to focus on three things: Taking people out of their normal element, making it close enough to home but far enough away to be a get-away, and making it affordable so all families could enjoy the campgrounds together multiple times a year.

35 years later, Steve has built Travel Resorts into 11 premier RV campgrounds from Florida to New York and now just recently has started venturing into the Midwest!

As a father of 3, an avid wine connoisseur, foodie, and lover of travel, Steve lives a busy adventurous life, but his heart is in providing the best camping memories to his members. You can find him at any of the resorts throughout the year, interacting with members, planting fun ideas in the activities directors’ heads, and always thinking about how to enhance our members’ experience. Because of Steve and his vision, Travel Resorts really is the definition of the Pursuit of Happiness.

How to get free WiFi in Moscow

Moscow is the largest city of Russia and holds a prominent place in the country as the main economic, cultural, political andresearch centre.

There couldn’t be a better spot to spend your vacations than the artful city of Moscow; the reasons being many but the major one for being among one of the cities where free WiFi connections are blessed. The city being vastly connected to the World through various international airports and railways has an amazingly extensive internet connection around the city for the tourists who might want an access to the media zone as well as to their social network, but would appreciate to cut back on those awful internet charges, while delighting in the beauties of this city like Moscow Kremlin orIntourist Hotel Volgograd.

Moscow had been ranked as one an alpha global city streaming with countless tourists all-round the year, hencefinding free WiFi is not as difficult as it might sound. The capital of Russia has been conveniently blessed with 1178 free WiFi hotspots including various restaurants, coffeehouses, pubs, hotels; and quite surprisingly yet delightfully enough, these free WiFi connections are in access to public transportation, parklands, Moscow metro buses and many such open places where tourists and locals alike, pass through frequently and would want to enjoy their meals or coffees while posting check ins and photos for their Facebook circle!

Mosscow wifi train

The main internet service provider within the entire city is Beeline, Megafon and MTS. If curious about the connection’s security with respect to your personal details, for that is quite natural, have a look at the related websites and find out the best tariffs.

However, in the historical Moscow city, free wireless connections is operative only through the Beeline which is readily spread in many areas of the city. The only effort you need to put in is connect to the internet by the name of “Beeline WiFi” or “Beeline WiFi WPA “and experiment around a bit like putting up your laptop on the window-sill for a few minutes, orswinging around the mobile phone in blank airuntil you start getting a stable reception; and you’re all good to go. Beeline WiFi is the only service provider if you are travelling a bus or a trolleybus, which is quite common in Russia. Moreover, 300 routers providing free internet access have been allocated on public transportation. Another free WiFi arrangement could be leisurely enjoyed while moving in and out of the city through Moscow’s underground Metro system. As of now, MTS has taken the initiative to equip four out of fourteen  Moscow metro stations in the city, erasing off all that weariness of a subway, and what’s more; the data transfer is estimated to be more than 100Mb/s per train!

Fortunately, there are various places in Moscow covered soundly with commercial WiFi network, where you could freely relax, sipping on those savory Mors with your laptop connecting you to the social webs or checking up on your mails and letting you keep track of this fast-paced modern world that would definitely help in easily recording and creating a memorable travelogue.

News | City removes and preserves Chicago Rat Hole after complaints from neighbors

A CDOT crew hangs out after paving the sidewalk in the 1900 block of West Roscoe Street where the so-called Chicago Rat Hole was removed earlier on April 24, 2024. Neighbors complained for months about the increased activity on the street due to the offbeat tourist attraction. (Chris Sweda/Chicago Tribune)

It’s the end of an era for Chicago Rat Hole enthusiasts. After a series of complaints from neighbors, the infamous rodent-shaped sidewalk dent was removed and preserved Wednesday morning, officials said.

“Crews removed and successfully preserved the square of sidewalk containing the famous ‘Chicago Rat Hole’ and are storing it temporarily while its future location is determined,” a spokesperson for the Chicago Department of Transportation said in a statement.

Photos from the scene show workers removing the slab of Roscoe Village sidewalk before refilling it with cement. It’s still unclear where the beloved imprint will be displayed next, though CDOT confirmed that it would be saved.

“There’s discussion about what could or should happen with it,” said Paul Sajovec, chief of staff for 32nd Ward Ald. Scott Waguespack, who represents the area. “It’s a piece of city infrastructure.”

The rat hole first went viral in January when a photo garnered millions of views on the social platform X. It quickly became an offbeat tourist attraction, drawing hundreds of devoted fans to West Roscoe Street.

At its peak, a makeshift shrine was erected at the site, featuring a framed photo of a mouse, a cardboard coffin and dozens of coins strewn across the sidewalk. Lines of eager visitors would stretch down the block.

But neighbors expressed frustration at the crowds, as well as the trash and food littered at the site. Roscoe Village residents said the dent has existed for decades. Suddenly, it was drawing complaints, according to Sajovec.

The hole had been filled in and dug out on multiple occasions since January, though the culprits remain unknown.

“It runs the gamut,” Sajovec said. “There are some neighbors that expected someone to rip it out the second it became an issue. We heard from other people that they liked it the way it was.”

The Chicago Rat Hole appears to be restored after neighbors, requesting anonymity, cleaned the impression in a Roscoe Village sidewalk that had been filled in by a concrete-like material, with hot water and a scrub brush on Jan. 19, 2024. (E. Jason Wambsgans/Chicago Tribune)

Amid neighbors’ frustrations, the alderman’s office asked CDOT to determine if the section of sidewalk met the criteria for repair and removal. The office was notified ahead of the project Wednesday. At first, it was unclear if crews would be able extract the slab in one piece, Sajovec added.

“Given the notoriety, the goal was to remove it intact,” he said.

The imprint is now safely stored by CDOT. As fans took to social media Wednesday, the spirit of the Chicago Rat Hole seemed to live on.

“It belongs in a museum,” one user posted on X.

Another simply wrote, “FREE THE RAT HOLE.”

By Rick Callahan and Kathleen Foody | Associated Press

CHICAGO — The “rat hole” is gone.

A Chicago sidewalk landmark some residents affectionately called the “rat hole” was removed Wednesday after city officials determined the section bearing the imprint of an animal was damaged and needed to be replaced, officials said.

The imprint has been a quirk of a residential block in Chicago’s North Side neighborhood of Roscoe Village for years, but it found fresh fame in January after a Chicago comedian shared a photo on the social platform X.

The attention, however, quickly grew old for neighbors who complained about visitors at all hours, sometimes leaving coins and other items scattered across the sidewalk. Plus, most in the neighborhood argue that the imprint was actually caused by a squirrel.

Erica Schroeder, a spokesperson for the Chicago Department of Transportation, said the square of sidewalk “containing the famous ‘Chicago rat hole'” is now in temporary storage.

She said that where the slab of sidewalk, which has an impression resembling the outline of a rat — claws, tail and all — will eventually end up is expected to be a “collaborative decision between the city departments and the mayor’s office.”

Schroeder said the rat hole section, as well as other portions of sidewalk along Roscoe Street, were removed by Department of Transportation crews Wednesday morning after the agency inspected them and determined they needed to be replaced because of damage.

Georgina Ulrich, a neighbor, shot video of crews using a concrete saw, a forklift and finally a truck to remove the slab and drive it away.

“All this for a rat imprint,” Ulrich said in one of the clips.

New concrete was poured later Wednesday, Schroeder said.

“The alderman’s office has definitely received complaints from neighbors about people gathering and people placing a bunch of different objects in the public way there,” she told The Associated Press.

“It was just a combination of the fact that the sidewalk was uneven and also that people would show up at various times of the day and night and make a lot of noise and create other issues and problems,” he said.

In January, someone filled in the rat hole with a material resembling white plaster, although the impression was quickly dug out by fans, the Chicago Tribune reported at the time.

Chicago resident Winslow Dumaine told the newspaper that people living nearby said the imprint had been there for nearly two decades.

Callahan reported from Indianapolis.
