Daycare 360: Virtual Tours for the Modern Parent

Daycare 360: Virtual Tours for the Modern Parent

Choosing the right daycare for your child is a significant decision, and for modern parents, the process has evolved with technology. Enter the era of “Daycare 360,” where virtual tours are transforming the way parents explore and select childcare options. In this article, we’ll dive into the world of virtual daycare tours, understanding their benefits, and how they cater to the needs of the contemporary parent.

1. The Convenience of Virtual Exploration

One of the primary advantages of virtual daycare tours is the convenience they offer to parents. Instead of scheduling in-person visits that may disrupt busy schedules, parents can explore daycare facilities virtually from the comfort of their homes or offices. This flexibility allows for efficient decision-making without the need for extensive travel or time off work.

2. Real-Time Interaction with Educators

Virtual tours often include features that enable real-time interaction with daycare educators. Parents can ask questions, seek clarification, and engage in discussions about the daycare’s curriculum, safety measures, and daily routines. This interactive element provides a personalized touch, allowing parents to gather detailed information and insights directly from the daycare staff.

3. 360-Degree Views for Comprehensive Exploration

Virtual daycare tours typically utilize 360-degree technology, offering a comprehensive view of the facilities. Parents can virtually navigate through classrooms, play areas, and common spaces, gaining a holistic understanding of the daycare environment. This immersive experience goes beyond static images, providing a more accurate representation of the daycare’s layout and amenities.

4. Access to Detailed Information

Accompanying the visual elements of virtual tours is the availability of detailed information about the daycare’s philosophy, curriculum, staff qualifications, and safety protocols. Parents can access this information during the virtual tour, ensuring they have a comprehensive understanding of the daycare’s approach to early childhood education and the well-being of their child.

5. Enhanced Decision-Making Process

Virtual daycare tours empower parents to make informed decisions about childcare options. By virtually exploring multiple daycares, comparing facilities, and interacting with educators, parents can narrow down their choices based on specific criteria. This streamlined decision-making process is especially valuable in busy urban settings where parents may have limited time for on-site visits.

6. Safe Exploration During Challenging Times

The global landscape has introduced new challenges, including concerns about health and safety. Virtual daycare tours offer a safe alternative to in-person visits, allowing parents to adhere to health guidelines while still actively participating in the decision-making process. This virtual approach ensures that parents can prioritize the well-being of their child and themselves.

7. Transparent Communication

Transparent communication is a cornerstone of virtual daycare tours. Daycare providers can use these platforms to convey important information about their programs, policies, and any updates. This open communication builds trust between parents and daycare staff, laying the foundation for a positive and collaborative relationship.

8. Future-Forward Technology

As technology continues to advance, virtual daycare tours represent a future-forward approach to childcare selection. This tech-savvy method aligns with the preferences of modern parents who rely on digital platforms for various aspects of their lives. Virtual tours showcase daycares that embrace innovation and prioritize the use of technology for the benefit of both parents and children.

Conclusion: Navigating Daycare Options in the Digital Age

The era of “Daycare 360” signifies a shift in how parents navigate the process of selecting the right childcare for their children. Virtual daycare tours offer a convenient, interactive, and informative experience that caters to the needs and preferences of modern parents. As technology continues to shape the landscape of childcare, virtual tours emerge as a valuable tool for fostering transparency, communication, and informed decision-making.

How to Host a Great Virtual Tour of Your Childcare Center or Preschool

This article is an excerpt from our eBook, How to Achieve Your 2021 Enrollment Goals with brightwheel. Download your free copy today!

Virtual tours are quickly gaining popularity among early education centers during COVID-19. Not only do they limit the number of individuals coming in and out of your facilities, but they can also help to save hours of time that would otherwise be spent cleaning after in-person visits. While there are many perks to virtual tours, it can also be difficult for parents to trust a childcare provider they haven’t met face-to-face. For this reason, you’ll want to give a great first impression while hosting virtual tours of your center.

Follow these 5 steps to create a wonderful virtual tour experience for your prospective families!

1. Choose a tour format that meets both your needs and your families’ needs.

You can host virtual tours through a number of mediums—choose one that makes the most sense for your center and the families you’re hoping to attract. For example, a live Zoom meeting with a staff member guiding families through your facility can feel very personal and allow for back-and-forth conversations. Or you might opt for a short recorded video walkthrough instead if you want greater control over the quality and less room for surprises.

If someone in your community has equipment and is willing to help film and edit the footage, you could also consider producing a longer, more professional recorded video . A series of slides with photos could also work well, especially if your prospective families might not have access to fast internet or advanced video capabilities on their phones and computers. You can even design the slides to feel like an actual walkthrough by posting the photos in order as you go room-to-room.

2. Plan the logistics of your tour.

If you’re doing a live video call for your tour, choose a time that’s usually quiet for your center and that’s convenient for your family participants—in many cases, this might be before or after standard working hours. In your communications, make it abundantly clear to families that the tour will be virtual and they don’t need to come to your center. You can also send a calendar invite so no one forgets to join! If you’re using Zoom or another live video tool, include the login credentials or download information they’ll need in the invitation as well.

If your tour is a recording, make sure you think through where the video will live and how people will access it. Will it be available for anyone in the public to view, or will families need to fill out an interest form first? Remember to include details about how families can get in touch with you if they have any questions.

3. Make sure your center is video or photo-ready.

Clean each room beforehand—this is especially important during COVID-19, as a tidy center helps communicate safety to families. If you’ll be recording or photographing staff members, let them know beforehand so they can look their best. Another important factor to consider is lighting. Open the windows and let in as much natural light as possible. If you’re using your phone camera, remember to clean your lens off beforehand so everything looks clear and fresh.

4. Exude confidence and be yourself.

Even if your face isn’t on camera, don’t forget to smile—it will come through in your voice! As the director of your center, it’s your job to get prospective families excited about what your center has to offer. Set the tone with your speaking voice and body language. Don’t forget to share a few highlights that you’re most proud of and help your center stand out, especially if you’ve adopted new safety practices during COVID-19. Prospective families will appreciate the proactive communication and the extra thought you’ve put into keeping your students healthy and safe!

5. Include a clear call-to-action for your prospective families.

If you’re doing a live video tour, don’t hesitate to invite families to enroll with you as you wrap up, and share the next steps to take if they’re interested. If you’re using recorded videos or a photo slideshow, include all pertinent enrollment information in your communications so families have everything they need to apply right away. If a family needs more time to decide, let them know you’ll follow up with them shortly and that you’re available for any questions they may have in the meantime.

Childcare Center Virtual Tour Checklist

It’s more important than ever to build trust with families throughout every step of their enrollment process. By hosting a great virtual tour, you’ll make a memorable first impression and increase the number of families interested in your program!

Child Care Director Resources How to offer virtual tours to prospective families

How to offer virtual tours to prospective families

30th April 2020

There may be situations where you decide not to offer tours in-person. As an alternative, you may choose to host a virtual tour. Here are some best practices to set up and deliver effective virtual tours for your prospective customers.

Why virtual tours?

The short of it is that ensuring that you have a pipeline of families touring, virtually or otherwise, gives you the very best chance of maintaining a full program. Additionally, with a little practice, a virtual tour might be a good time-saving option for you. A virtual tour can weed out families that aren’t serious, or that aren’t a good fit for your program.

How to implement virtual tours

First, figure out how you want to offer virtual tours . Think about what technology you have (phone type, tablet, computer), and decide what you’re comfortable with. Here are some tools you might consider using:

 • FaceTime (for Apple iOS)
 • Google Duo (for Android iOS)

Tip: it’s a good idea to have more than one option available for parents.

Second, communicate with the parents . When you receive notice that a parent has booked a tour on your Wonderschool website, reach out to the parents to confirm the tour as virtual, and coordinate how you’ll conduct the tour. Make sure to do this as early as possible to avoid confusion or a parent showing up at your door when you think you’re having a virtual tour.

Next, share any contact or account info needed for the virtual tour . Once you settle on the tool you’ll use for the tour you can make sure to share the username or phone number.

Tip: make sure it’s clear if you’re calling the parent or if the parent is calling you at the scheduled time.

Finally, have a great virtual tour! The first few virtual tours might feel a little awkward, but remember that what’s important is making a connection with the parent and taking the time to get to know them.

General Best Practices:

 • Verify that the parent can do the virtual tour over the platform(s) you have chosen to use. Be very clear with the parent about which platform, and share any account info you need in order to connect on that platform for the tour.
 • If a parent does not have video capability, you can always deliver the tour over the phone if the parent is comfortable with this option.
 • Give the tour the same as you would in person! Take time to introduce yourself and share your passion for working with children. Walk the parent through your space and let them know about your normal day-to-day routine.
 • No matter how you host the tour, make sure you go into depth about your space and your schedule. Also, make sure you have your Wonderschool website pulled up to reference your calendar, pricing, etc.

Tip: Ask your currently or previously enrolled families if they would be willing to be references for you. Putting happy families in touch with prospective families is a great way to give insight to potential new families.

In particular, Preschools and childcare centers have learned to adapt to our new way of living by offering virtual tours of their facilities. By having a virtual tour for your business, you are giving parents the flexibility to tour your school or daycare ‘virtually’ via their computer or mobile phones.

See more on: what is a virtual tour?

Your Virtual Tour on Google Maps

Our virtual tour photographers are also Google Street View Trusted , which means that they are your connection or bridge, to your Google Maps local profile. With this type of certification, we are able to upload your virtual tour once it’s completed.

Having your virtual tour on Google Maps makes your preschool or childcare facility instantly stand out from your competition. Once a prospect engages with your Google Maps page, and discovers a virtual tour, chances are that they will spend more time on your profile. The longer they navigate through your tour, the higher your chances of them giving you a call, making this a wise investment for your business.

More Benefits of a Virtual Tour for your Business

A Virtual Tour offers convenience. In such cases where a person is traveling and cannot visit your school for a tour, you can simply send them a link to your virtual tour. Having every single room photographed allows you to point the parent to the exact classroom their child will be spending time in. This allows parents to visualize their child attending your school, which only increases the chances of a keeping them as a long time client.

And with a virtual tour, you are able to send pinpoint locations of your facility with ease. From pre-k to age 5, there are a lot of classrooms. How convenient would it be to send each parent a unique view of their child’s classroom?

Is Your Preschool or Childcare Safe?

If so, then why not let the world know it? Simple small details such as locks on doors, gates, fencing, security cameras can all be picked up when viewing a virtual tour. These are the types of things parents are concerned about. Sanitation is another concern. Use a virtual tour as an opportunity to display hand sanitizers on counters, tissue boxes, and clean bathrooms

Kids Love Playgrounds!

And so do parents. That’s why it’s absolutely essential to make sure our photographers capture and include it with your virtual tour. Parents want to be assured that their child is not only learning, but is also having fun. Let them envision their children running around in your playground.

Are Virtual Tours Expensive?

This all depends on the size of your facility. It’s important to know the square footage of your property in order to get the best quote. Typical prices for a virtual tour are .75 cents per square foot.

Is the Virtual Tour Mine to Keep?

Yes, the virtual tour is yours forever. There may come a time when you have remodeled your school, and may want a new virtual tour. A new tour will replace your old tour on Google Maps.

Can I add the Virtual Tour to Our Daycare Website?

Yes, upon completion, we will provide you with what’s called a “code-snippet” which your website designer can easily embed to your website.

What Do I Need to Do To Prepare For My Virtual Tour?

We have created a handy checklist of things you could do before our arrival, that will make for an optimal virtual tour.

What if I Don’t Like My Virtual Tour?

We will find out what exactly you are unhappy about and come back out to reshoot if necessary. We want you to be 100% satisfied.

While You’re Here, Can You Take Photos of Our Staff?

So long as you give us a heads up before the date of the shoot, we can certainly bring additional camera lenses to create some head shots or staff photos. If you’re interested, let us know so that we could give you a quote.

I Want the Ability to Leave Little Messages Throughout the Tour. Is This Possible?

Yes, we offer what’s known as an “Interactive Virtual Tour”, which do not go on Google Maps because they offer much more features such as pop up messages, a navigation menu to go from room to room, and much more.

Why Choose Us?

While there are many companies and freelancers in our industry to choose from, there are also a lot of sand traps to watch out for. Be sure to ask any company if they are bonded and insured? You do not want a clumsy team of photographers entering your facility and damaging your property. Does the company you choose use real DSLR cameras or do they use cheap 360 cameras that produce low-resolution virtual tours? Does the company offer a satisfaction guarantee? We answer yes to all of the above. Give us a call today for a free estimate.

Your email address will not be published. Background: Due to the global prevalence of dementia the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services' National Plan to Address Alzheimer's Disease recommended that healthcare professionals prepare to address the complex needs of people with dementia. To address this gap, nursing programs adopted experiential learning methods. While such methodologies are increasingly used, limited evidence exists to inform best teaching practices.

Purpose: This study evaluated the combined effect of an e-learning module with a virtual simulation on nursing students' knowledge and attitudes of dementia.

Methods: The study followed quasi-experimental design with a cross-over and pretest/posttest design. A convenience sample of nursing students was recruited from three public universities in the Southeast United States.

Results: Significant improvements in attitudes toward people with dementia were found in students with previous dementia care experience or those employed to provide services to people with dementia. Experience was a stronger predictor of attitudes than education. However, the reliability of the Dementia Knowledge Assessment Scale was not sufficient in this study.

Significance: The findings may inform best practices in nursing education to prepare graduates to provide quality care for people with dementia.

Will it be easy to find my way in the Moscow Metro? It is a question many visitors ask themselves before hitting the streets of the Russian capital. On top of this, it is the most beautiful metro in the world !

. There are over 220 stations and 15 lines in the Moscow Metro. It is open from 6 am to 1 am. Trains come very frequently: during the rush hour you won't wait for more than 90 seconds! Distances between stations are quite long – 1,5 to 2 or even 3 kilometers. Metro runs inside the city borders only. To get to the airport you will need to take an onground train - Aeroexpress.
