Sync Safari Bookmarks across devices

I have a Mac mini & a MacBook Air. On each I have 3 browsers - Chrome, Firefox & Safari. I primarily use Firefox but I've been reading online about Safari. I'm trying out the Safari browser right now. I'm intrigued about the Safari password manager & syncing bookmarks between devices. I'm considering making the Safari browser my default browser.

So, I have questions about syncing the bookmarks across my mini & my laptop.

Worse case scenario, I import the bookmarks from Chrome & Firefox into the Safari browser on my mini. Likewise, on my laptop. So, I'll have 2 Safari bookmark lists. There will be plenty of duplicates. I can manually delete the duplicates. When the bookmark lists are uploaded to iCloud, does iCloud delete the duplicates to create one"Master" bookmark list?

I can sort the bookmarks by name. There will be 2 identical bookmarks next to each other. I don't want to select one duplicate & delete it. I suppose that a window will pop up & ask "Do you want to delete this bookmark?" I click "yes". Then the same thing happens with the next bookmark & the next bookmark, etc. There'll be dozens of duplicates. I don't want to delete one bookmark at a time. What keyboard combination selects every other bookmark so that I can delete all of the duplicate bookmarks at one time?

Keep your Safari bookmarks, reading list, and tabs up to date with iCloud

With iCloud, your Safari bookmarks, reading list, and open browser tabs stay up to date on all your devices.

Access the same bookmarks, reading list, and tabs on all your devices

When you  set up iCloud for Safari , your Safari bookmarks, reading list, and open browser tabs are stored in the cloud instead of locally on your device. You can access that information on any device that’s set up for iCloud and Safari, including your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac. You can access your bookmarks on a Windows computer.

Because your information is in the cloud, changes you make on one device—like bookmarking a new website, removing an item from your reading list, or opening a new tab—automatically appear on all your devices. You see the most up-to-date version of your bookmarks, reading list, and open browser tabs, no matter where you access them.

Restore your bookmarks and reading list on all your devices

Your bookmarks and reading list are archived automatically. You can use iCloud.com to restore an archived version on all your devices if you ever need to.

  • How do I Selectively Sync Safari on iCloud? Long time user struggling with iCloud Safari Sync. I use an iMac in my office at home, another in my home studio. I use an iPad Pro when working away from home and when not working both at home and away. I've an Admin account on another iMac at a customer's premises I regularly work at and a Mac mini as a media centre. Plus my phone. Obviously I want my bookmarks, reading list and logins everywhere. Obviously I don't want work machines autofilling the address bar or history with Youtube Time Team S4 E3/E4/E5, The Poke, ClientsFromHell etc when clients are sitting at my desk. Is this question directed to someone other that yourself ?

On the off chance -

A " Bookmark " is derived from a Specific url ( Web Address ) and purposely saved by the User .

The " Favourite " is also derived from a Specific url ( Web Address ) but is added to the Opening Page of Safari based upon the frequency the user visits that specific Web Site

Apr 30, 2022 10:54 AM in response to PRP_53

OK, I understand your definition.

A bookmark is a bookmark but it can be a favorite if the site is frequently visited.

I have 26 folders labeled "A" thru "Z".

This is confusing!

When I click on "Bookmarks" in the main menu, I see "Show Bookmarks" AND "Favorites". When I click on Bookmarks > Favorites, I see Bookmarks Bar!

OK, under Preferences:

Under General, I see "Favorites Shows:". I can choose "Favorites" or "Bookmarks Bar" or any folder.

When I go to Bookmarks > Edit Bookmarks, I see Favorites. If I expand Favorites, I see Bookmarks Bar.

"Bookmarks Bar" is a subfolder under Favorites. It looks like the only way to simplify the bookmarks is to use "Edit Bookmarks".

I think that I figured it out. Favorites shows on the Start Page & the Menu bar. "Bookmarks Bar" is a subfolder under Favorites. Under "General" > "Favorite shows:" I choose Favorites. I move everything from the Bookmarks Bar to Favorites.

HMMM, if all of the bookmarks in "Bookmarks bar" are "Favorites", the 'Favorites" will show on the Start Page so I won't need to click on "Bookmarks" > "Favorites".

I set Safari as default. I imported bookmarks into Safari from Chrome & Firefox. Each time that I imported, I was told that 700 some bookmarks were imported. I synced Safari with iCloud. The bookmarks don't show up in iCloud. Where are they? I even restarted my mini. No bookmarks show up in iCloud. How do I get the bookmarks to show up in iCloud?

May 1, 2022 9:42 AM in response to PRP_53

I have the option of importing the Safari bookmark directly into iCloud. Is that what I do?

When I clicked on "Safari" in iCloud, I saw "setting up".

I've had a Mac for several years now, & almost everyday I learn something new!

I think it is time the user reads all the information previous provided in those links.

IMHO, there has been enough advise offered for the User ( you ) to make an informed choice what  the next course of action is required to possibly answer the question.

The suggestions have been put forth on a volunteer basis, in good faith and in the best interests of the computer.

How-To Geek

How to sync any browser's bookmarks with your ipad or iphone.

Apple makes it easy to synchronize bookmarks between the Safari browser on a Mac and the Safari browser on iOS, but you don't have to use Safari -- or a Mac -- to sync your bookmarks back and forth.

Quick Links

Safari on a mac, internet explorer, firefox, or chrome via icloud, google chrome sync, manual bookmark sync in itunes.

You can do this with any browser. Whether you're using Chrome, Firefox, or even Internet Explorer, there's a way to sync your browser bookmarks so you can access your same bookmarks on your iPad.

Apple's iCloud service is the officially supported way to sync data with your iPad or iPhone. It's included on Macs, but Apple also offers similar iCloud bookmark syncing features for Windows.

On a Mac, this should be enabled by default. To check whether it's enabled, you can launch the System Preferences panel on your Mac, open the iCloud preferences panel, and ensure the Safari option is checked.

Related: Safari for Windows is (Probably) Dead: How to Migrate to Another Browser

If you're using Safari on Windows -- well, you shouldn't be. Apple is no longer updating Safari for Windows . iCloud allows you to synchronize bookmarks between other browsers on your Windows system and Safari on your iOS device, so Safari isn't necessary.

To get started, download Apple's iCloud Control Panel application for Windows and install it. Launch the iCloud Control Panel and log in with the same iCloud account (Apple ID) you use on your iPad or iPhone.

You'll be able to enable Bookmark syncing with Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Chrome. Click the Options button to select the browser you want to synchronize bookmarks with. (Note that bookmarks are called "favorites" in Internet Explorer.)

You'll be able to access your synced bookmarks in the Safari browser on your iPad or iPhone, and they'll sync back and forth automatically over the Internet.

Google Chrome also has its own built-in sync feature and Google provides an official Chrome app for iPad and iPhone. If you're a Chrome user, you can set up Chrome Sync on your desktop version of Chrome -- you should already have this enabled if you have logged into your Chrome browser.

You can check if this Chrome Sync is enabled by opening Chrome's settings screen and seeing whether you're signed in. Click the Advanced sync settings button and ensure bookmark syncing is enabled.

Once you have Chrome Sync set up, you can install the Chrome app from the App Store and sign in with the same Google account. Your bookmarks, as well as other data like your open browser tabs, will automatically sync.

This can be a better solution because the Chrome browser is available for so many platforms and you gain the ability to synchronize other browser data, such as your open browser tabs, between your devices. Unfortunately, the Chrome browser is slower than Apple's own Safari browser on iPad and iPhone because of the way Apple limits third-party browsers, so using it involves a trade-off.

iTunes also allows you to sync bookmarks between your computer and your iPad or iPhone. It does this the old-fashioned way, by initiating a manual sync when your device is plugged in via USB. To access this option, connect your device to your computer, select the device in iTunes, and click the Info tab.

Related: How to Never Use iTunes With Your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch

This is the more outdated way of synchronizing your bookmarks. This feature may be useful if you want to create a one-time copy of your bookmarks from your PC, but it's nowhere near ideal for regular syncing. You don't have to use this feature, just as you really don't have to use iTunes anymore . In fact, this option is unavailable if you've set up iCloud syncing in iTunes.

After you set up bookmark syncing via iCloud or Chrome Sync, bookmarks will sync immediately after you save, remove, or edit them.

Troubleshooting Sync Issues

While Safari's sync feature is designed to seamlessly update your bookmarks across all your Apple devices, you may encounter occasional issues that disrupt this synchronization process. Understanding how to troubleshoot these sync issues can help ensure that your Safari favorites remain consistent and readily accessible. Here are some common troubleshooting steps to address sync issues:

Check iCloud Status

Before delving into device-specific troubleshooting, it's essential to verify the status of iCloud services. Visit Apple's System Status page to check if there are any ongoing issues with iCloud services. If there are reported problems, it's likely that they are affecting the sync process. In such cases, it's best to wait for Apple to resolve the underlying issues before attempting further troubleshooting.

Verify Internet Connectivity

Syncing Safari favorites across devices relies on a stable internet connection. If you're experiencing sync issues, ensure that your devices are connected to a reliable Wi-Fi network or have cellular data enabled. Poor connectivity can hinder the sync process, leading to discrepancies in your bookmarks across devices.

Update Device Software

Outdated software on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac can sometimes lead to sync issues. Ensure that all your devices are running the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, or macOS. Updating to the latest software version can resolve underlying compatibility issues and improve the syncing functionality of Safari bookmarks.

Restart Devices

A simple yet effective troubleshooting step is to restart the devices experiencing sync issues. This can help clear temporary glitches and reestablish the connection to iCloud, potentially resolving any underlying sync discrepancies.

Reset Safari Sync

If you notice persistent sync issues on a specific device, you can attempt to reset the Safari sync settings. On iPhone and iPad, navigate to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud > iCloud Drive, then toggle off Safari. After a few moments, toggle it back on to initiate a fresh sync. On Mac, go to System Preferences > Apple ID > iCloud, then uncheck and recheck the Safari option. This can help reinitialize the sync process and address any underlying issues.

Contact Apple Support

If you've exhausted troubleshooting steps and continue to experience sync issues with Safari favorites, reaching out to Apple Support can provide further assistance. Apple's support team can offer personalized guidance and troubleshooting tailored to your specific device and iCloud account.

By following these troubleshooting steps, you can address common sync issues and ensure that your Safari favorites remain consistently updated across all your Apple devices. This proactive approach to troubleshooting can help maintain a seamless browsing experience, allowing you to access your preferred websites without interruptions.

In conclusion, the seamless synchronization of Safari favorites across your iPhone, iPad, and Mac offers a significant convenience in managing your browsing experience. By leveraging iCloud as the conduit for syncing, Apple has streamlined the process of ensuring that your preferred websites are readily accessible across all your devices. This cohesive integration aligns with Apple's commitment to delivering a seamless ecosystem that adapts to users' needs and usage patterns.

The process of setting up iCloud for Safari and enabling Safari sync on your devices is relatively straightforward, empowering users to effortlessly manage their bookmarks without the need for manual intervention. This streamlined approach reflects Apple's dedication to user-friendly experiences, where technology seamlessly adapts to users' preferences, allowing for a consistent and intuitive browsing experience.

Bookmarks will not sync from Safari to iPhone

Several users have reported an issue where bookmarks will not sync from Mac/Windows Safari to the iPhone. The option to sync can be toggled in iTunes under the "Information" tab while an iPhone is connected.

There are two potential fixes for this issue:

If you have a .Mac account and Mac OS X

Go to System Preferences and select .Mac. Click the Sync tab then press the Advanced... button in the lower-right corner. Next click Reset Sync Data in the lower-left and choose to replace the data on .Mac with the data on your computer.

Next, launch iSync (located in /Applications and choose Preferences from the iSync menu. Next, click Reset Sync History .

Re-attempt syncing your iPhone, making sure that the option to sync Safari bookmarks is turned on in iTunes.

If you don't have a .Mac account, are using Windows, or the above fix doesn't work

In Safari, go to the File menu and select Export Bookmarks . This will save all of your bookmarks in an HTML file. Next:

  • On a Mac Quit Safari if it is open. Navigate to ~/Library/Safari and move the file Bookmarks.plist to the Desktop or another location, then re-launch Safari. Select Import Bookmarks from the File menu and select the file you saved in the previous step. If bookmarks still won't sync, move the Bookmarks.plist file again and this time, don't re-import the bookmarks. Create a new, test bookmark in Safari and attempt syncing with the iPhone. If this works, you know that problematic bookmark data is at play. Manually rebuild your bookmarks.
  • On a Windows PC Quit Safari if it is open. Navigate to C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Application Data\Apple Computer\Safari and move the file Bookmarks.plist to another location, then re-launch Safari. Manually rebuild your bookmarks.

sync safari bookmarks in itunes

If you spend a lot of your time surfing the net, chances are that you’ve built up a large collection of bookmarks. But when you switch devices – that is, when you move from your computer to your iPhone (or iPad) and vice versa, you don’t have access to these bookmarks.

If you use Google Chrome on both PC as well as your Apple device, you can use your Google Account for bookmark syncing. You need to log-in to your Google Account when you use Chrome, and enable sync in the settings menu.

To ensure sync is enabled, click on the Settings option in the browser menu. Here, you should find your Google Account sign-in ID displayed at the top, with a few options underneath it.

Click on the Advanced sync settings option. Here, ensure that you select the Bookmarks option.  In addition to bookmarks, Chrome will also let you sync apps, passwords, browser history and even browser settings.

If you use Chrome on your PC but not on your iOS device, you can download Chrome from the iTunes store here.

However, please note that Safari is the recommended browser for use on any Apple device. This is because Apple limits third-party browsers in several ways. Consequently, Google Chrome on the iOS is not as fast as it is on your PC.

Sync Using iTunes

You can also use iTunes to sync your bookmarks. This option is convenient if you don’t have access to the internet at the moment.

In the iTunes menu, select the Information option after the device has been connected to the PC.

Here, you will find an option to sync your PC bookmarks (and vice versa) with your Apple device.

Using any one of these options should get your bookmarks synced across all your devices. Syncing bookmarks (and browser history) can save you a lot of time and energy in the long run, so we recommend that you get it set up as soon as you can.

Safari bookmarks on Mac, iPhone, iPad

One of the useful features of iCloud is that it allows you to synchronize your bookmarks between your Mac and iOS devices.

Safari bookmarks sync is auto-enabled when you set up your new iPhone, iPad, and Mac and sign in using the same Apple ID. However, if you ever turned it off, we’ve prepared this step-by-step guide to enable bookmark sync across your Apple devices.

Sync Safari bookmarks over iCloud

1) Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad and tap your Apple ID from the top.

2) Tap iCloud > Show All .

3) From the list of apps using iCloud, enable the switch next to Safari .

Access Safari in iCloud iPhone

Next, do it on your Mac to complete the setup.

4) Click the Apple icon  on your Mac and select System Settings .

5) Click your name  from the top.

6) Now, click iCloud > Show All .

7) Finally, enable the switch next to Safari .

Enable iCloud for Safari on Mac

After following the above steps, the bookmarks you create in Safari on your iPhone should appear on your Mac, and vice versa.

As you can tell, the only process involved in syncing bookmarks between your Mac and iPhone is ensuring that you have iCloud enabled for Safari on both devices.

Fix Safari bookmarks not syncing across devices

After following the above steps, your bookmarks should appear on all your iPhones, iPads, and Macs. However, if they don’t, here are a few solutions to fix this issue:

  • Make sure your devices are connected to working Wi-Fi, cellular data, or Ethernet.
  • Restart your iPhone, iPad , and Mac.
  • Make sure you’re running the latest version of iOS, iPadOS, and macOS.
  • Double-check to ensure you’re using the same Apple ID on all devices.
  • Follow the above steps and turn off Safari’s iCloud access and turn it back on.
  • If nothing helps, sign out of your Apple ID and sign in again .

Sync bookmarks in Chrome and Firefox

The basics of syncing your bookmarks in other browsers like Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox are the same.

All you have to do is get Chrome or Firefox on your Mac or PC and sign in with your Google account. In Firefox, you will have to create an account.

Next, download Chrome or Firefox on your iPhone and iPad and sign in with the same Google or Firefox account. After signing in, don’t forget to enable sync. After this, your history, passwords, bookmarks, etc., will be synced across all the devices.

Syncing Microsoft Edge and Safari bookmarks via icloud

With my previous laptop, i could sync my chrome bookmarks on my laptop with the safari bookmarks in my ipad using icloud and choosing 'chrome' in the browser selection in the icloud application in the laptop (there are 3 choices there: internet explorer, Firefox and Chrome). That worked fine.

Now I have a new laptop with Microsoft Edge on it. Suppose I import all the bookmarks from Chrome to Edge, can i now sync the Edge bookmarks with the safari bookmarks on the ipad using icloud in the same way. I am asking because there is no "Edge" entry in the icloud application. What shall i choose (if possible at all..) in this case (IE-?, Firefox-No!, Chrome-No!). Is this doable or shall i stay with chrome on new laptop and safari on ipad ?

Hi sh1406 ,

Thanks for your post in Microsoft Community.

It sounds like that you currently need to sync bookmarks to the Microsoft Edge. As Chrome and iClound are not a product of Microsoft, we cannot provide you with more help, but here are some suggestions:

Since there is no option to sync directly to the Edge, it seems like you have to take two steps.Since IE and Edge are the products of Microsoft, you can try to sync IE first and then sync to Edge. And Since Edge and Chrome are the same core, you can try to sync Chrome first and then sync to Edge.

If direct synchronization does not solve the problem, you can try to export bookmarks from other browsers and then import Edge.

For this,kindly check:

Thanks for your feedback.

This is easily doable, though not necessarily intuitive. Since Microsoft Edge can install Chrome extensions, you simply need to install the iCloud Chrome extension in Edge ( iCloud Bookmarks - Chrome Web Store (google.com) ) and select Chrome in the iCloud application (you might want to remove the extension from your Chrome application in order to prevent conflicts).

I've just used this setup successfully to sync Edge bookmarks with Safari on iOS (iPhone and iPad); it seems the iCloud application accepts the sync instructions from Edge because it is the same engine (Chromium).

Thank you for your reply.

For the time beeing , i decided to stay with chrome/safari combo, since it works fine and sufficiently fast for me and i am familiar with it.

I will keep your post anyway if i need it in the future.

Thanks again.

sync safari bookmarks in itunes

• Filed to: iPhone Transfer • Proven solutions

Bookmarks are one of the easiest and most common ways to save web pages to read them later. Many iOS users save bookmarks on Safari to sync them across a Windows PC when needed. But lately, many users have complained that they’re facing unexpected errors while trying to sync the Apple bookmarks from an iPhone to Windows 10.

Worry not as this tutorial includes everything you need to know about syncing Safari bookmarks as well as how to fix the synching issues if they occur.

Part 1. Why Safari Bookmarks Not Syncing on Windows?

Part 2. 3 proven ways to sync safari bookmarks from iphone to windows 10 pc., part 3. common tips about how to fix sync issues on windows..

A myriad of reasons could be the culprit of why Safari Bookmarks are not syncing on your Windows, but experts believe that the below factors are at play in most cases.

  • If the iCloud list file is missing or corrupted, then Safari Bookmarks are not synced on a PC.
  • Many a time, there’s a bug in the Safari app that causes this issue.
  • An outdated Safari app can fail to sync bookmarks.
  • There might be a temporary glitch in the iCloud system.

Regardless of the reasons why are your safari bookmarks not syncing , the below workarounds will help you troubleshoot the issue without any hassles.

Here are the three most efficient and proven ways of syncing bookmarks from an iPhone to Windows 10.

1. Sync with iCloud

Using iCloud to sync Safari bookmarks to Windows is the easiest method in your arsenal. iCloud, being the most ingenious feature of Apple, is much more than just cloud storage. It also empowers users to sync anything from iPhone to a PC including Safari bookmarks.

Note that you would need iCloud for Windows to sync bookmarks to Windows 10. Here’re how you use iCloud to get the job done:

Step 1. Download and install iCloud for Windows. If prompted, restart your PC to get going.

Step 2. launch it and log into your apple account..

login apple id

Step 3. On its main interface, check the Bookmarks option (and whatever else you want to sync) and hit Apply to confirm.

sync bookmarks

The program will start synching all the Safari bookmarks stored on your iCloud. Wait patiently until the process is completed and then, you can access your bookmarks on Windows.

2. Sync with iTunes

Another official method to sync Safari bookmarks is via iTunes. Just like iCloud, this method is easy to implement and hardly takes a few minutes. Before applying this method, users need to disable Safari in the iPhone else iTunes won’t sync the bookmarks that are being synced with your iOS device over the air from iCloud.

Check out yourself how do I transfer bookmarks from Safari to PC using iTunes:

Step 1. On your iPhone, navigate to Settings > iCloud, and turn off Safari.

Step 2. launch the latest version of itunes on your pc and connect your iphone to it via a lightning cable., step 3. when it detects your device, hit on the iphone icon and then, select info in the left tab..

sync in info

Step 4. Now, check the “Sync bookmarks with” and choose your browser from the drop-down menu. Don’t check the Bookmarks option in the Advanced section.

Finally, hit on Apply and wait until the program completely syncs your bookmarks.

3. Sync with Third-Party Apps

Sometimes, the aforementioned two methods don’t work for any underlying reasons. In such a case, users have to rely on third-party apps to get the job done. The internet is awash with such tools but when it comes to the best iOS syncing software, Dr.Fone-Phone Manager (iOS) stands apart from other players.

Loaded with all the features of a premium iPhone File Transfer tool, it is a one-stop solution to sync all types of files including bookmarks between an iOS device and a computer. Over the years, it has established itself as the best alternative to iTunes. What’s more, its intuitive interface and ease of use make it a perfect choice for not-so-tech-savvy users.

Below are the quick workarounds for fixing the Bookmarks sync issues on Windows.

1. Check iCloud and iTunes version

Firstly, make sure you’re using the latest version of iCloud and iTunes. Installing all the available updates for both apps fixes the issue in many cases.

Step 1. Launch iTunes and navigate to help > Check for Updates.

Step 2. if any updates are available, install them..

check updates

Similarly, go to the App Store and check if any Safari updates are available. If yes, install them and check if the issue persists.

2. Check Internet Connection

You need a healthy internet connection to sync Safari bookmarks from an iPhone to a PC. The easiest to check your internet connection is by opening a web page and refreshing it. If it loads just fine, then your internet connection is working. Else, change your Wi-Fi connection and try to sync the bookmarks again.

3. Check Settings

The safari bookmarks are synced only if you’re using the same Apple ID for both your computer and iPhone. Be sure to confirm it and if not, sign in with the same Apple ID for both devices and then try again to sync bookmarks.

4. Check Browser

It is possible that the browser you’re using might not support Apple bookmarks. For instance, the Microsoft Edge browser in Windows 10 is not compatible with Safari bookmarks. So, try any other browser like Google Chrome, Firefox, etc., and check if you’re still facing the issue.

5. Check Bookmark Storage

If you somehow changed the default location of the “Favorites” folder containing bookmarks, it might not be updated on other devices. So, make sure you‘re favorites folder is in its original location, which is C:\Users\username\Favorites.

If not, launch iCloud for Windows and deselect the Bookmarks, and hit Apply. Then, change the location of the Favorites folder to the default and again select Bookmarks in iCloud for Windows.

6. Refresh Browser

Sometimes, the syncing error arises when the browser somehow couldn’t detect the new actions performed. To fix it, refresh your browser. One way to do this is by closing the browser and launching it again. Else, just click on the refresh icon at the top-right bar and perform the synching process again.

Remember that the bookmarks in Google Chrome are not updated as quickly as in Firefox or Internet Explorer.

To wrap it up, this article has provided a detailed guideline on how to sync bookmarks from an iOS device to a Windows PC as well as how to troubleshoot the synching issue. The aforementioned three methods and tried-and-tested and you can rely on any of them to transfer bookmarks from an iPhone to a PC.

But we suggest users install Dr.Fone – Phone manager (iOS) which allows users to transfer any file including Apple bookmarks between an iOS device and computer.

Sync app info from your PC to devices with iTunes

You can use iTunes to sync the contacts, calendars and Safari bookmarks on your computer with your iPhone, iPad or iPod. iTunes also syncs this information from your device to your computer — for example, if you add contacts on your iPad and then sync your iPad to your computer, those contacts are added to your Windows address book or Outlook Express.

Sync contacts and other info with iPhone, iPad or iPod touch

When you sync, iTunes determines whether your device or your computer contains the most recent information, and lets you choose the information you want to sync.

Connect your device to your computer.

You can connect your device using a USB or USB-C cable or a Wi-Fi connection. To turn on Wi-Fi syncing, see Sync iTunes content on PC with devices on Wi-Fi .

The Device button selected near the top of the iTunes window.

Click Info.

The Device window, with Info selected in the sidebar on the left.

Select the items you want to sync.

Click Apply.

Sync contacts and other info with iPod classic or iPod nano

Note: To sync content from your computer to iPod classic, iPod nano or iPod shuffle, use iTunes on Windows 10 or later.

Your contact and calendar information is updated on your iPod each time you connect it to your computer. You can also update your information anytime your device is connected by choosing File > Sync iPod in iTunes.

If you have problems syncing, try syncing only certain information. For example, deselect the Sync tickboxes on the Music, Photos, Podcasts, Movies and TV Shows panes, and try syncing only Info.

You can also sync information wirelessly with your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch using iCloud or Microsoft Exchange. Any items you sync with these apps can also be synced with iTunes.

For more information about syncing, see the user guide for iPhone , iPad or iPod touch . For a device that doesn’t use the latest version of iOS or iPadOS, get the user guide from the Apple Support Manuals website .
