In addition to some regular sites I would like taking tours of factories and maybe seeing some industrial/technology museums.

I understand the Hyundia car factory and Hyundia shipyard in Ulsan give tours but when I go to their web sites they have a notice about not having tours due to COVID 19. I am thinking maybe they just haven't updated their websites. Does anyone have any experience with these tours and/or know if they are running?

Also, is anyone aware of other factory tours in Korea (can be anywhere - I will travel to any city for them) or good historical museums on technology, old factories or the industrialization of Korea.

Book Your Plant Tour & Guidelines

We offer plant tour for individual visitors or group of up to 40 people. if you want to come & enjoy the nongshim usa plant tour then reserve your tour in advance online. to get more details visit us now..

Tours are offered in either English or Korean.

Before making a reservation, please read the Requirement & Guideline  section on Plant Tours. All participants must be over 8 years of age.

Tours can be arranged on Tuesdays or Thursdays and it will be scheduled at 11 AM or 3 PM*. Tours last between 30 minutes to an hour. Please make your reservation online at least two weeks prior to the tour or at most three months prior to the tour.

Due to high demand, it is not always possible to arrange a tour on the day of your first choice.

All tours are subject to approval and could be rescheduled at any time due to scheduling conflicts or workload at Nongshim America. Nongshim America reserves the right to decline or cancel any tour at any time and does not exclude the possibility after you arrive.

Tuesday and Thursday and will be scheduled at 11 AM or 3 PM. Tours are not given on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, Weekends or Holidays.

*Tour hours are subject to change.

Requirement & Guideline

Photographs.

Filming, taking photographs and the using of mobile phones are not permitted in plants.

Smoking / Drinking

Smoking is not permitted in plants. Visitors under the influence of alcohol will not be permitted to participate in tour.

The minimum age to participate in plant tours is eight years. Children aged eight to twelve must be accompanied by an adult.

Pets are not allowed.

The above rules are for your own safety. Failure to observe these rules will result in the cancellation of the tour. Nongshim reserves the right to cancel a tour, change tour routes or times for operational reasons. Should a tour be cancelled for the latter reason, we will offer you an alternative date.

Due to current circumstances regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19), we have decided to take all necessary precautions to protect our employees as well as our visitor’s. It is the largest auto manufacturing facility in the world. There are nearly 5 production lines on a 20 km by 20km area of the plant. Among all the production lines, the assembly line is open to the public. When you go for visiting the plant, the first place you will visit is the Hyundai Motor Company Car Gallery. Here you get to see old Hyundai car modes and its parts. You get see car models that were never produced and also the limited editions. On the assembly line, you can see the production process of Hyundai’s most popular cars, lifted from one place to another and the workers installing more than 20,000 parts together within few minutes. • The plant is closed on weekends and national holidays.
• High seasons – March – June / September – November.
• Reservation during high season should be made in advance.
• Group tour is only available on bus.
• Group less than 12 people will be considered as individuals.
• Visitors must be over the age of 12years and at atleast of 130cm in height unless you are accompanied by a legal guardian (up to 2 children for each guardian).
• Tours cannot be taken the same day as application is submitted.
• Maximum occupancy of the plant is 200 people.
