"A few days in Buenos Aires"

We participated in a guided tour in the southern part of Buenos Aires. This tour was made by bike which is an exellent way of seeing this amazing city. I can strongly recommend BA bikes. We had very nice guide who told us a lot about the different spots we visited.

"My favourite tour in BA"

I found this tour amazing with so much useful information about the south of the city from our tour guide. He knew all the history, was happy to answer questions and had an awesome sense of humour. I highly recommend this tour to anyone as we had such a laugh!

By cookens on TripAdvisor London, UK

"Excellent morning in BA!"

We did the south route, and it was beautiful, so much to see, amazing scenery, and there is a bit of a stop in La Boca for you to walk around. Took us around the city in a way that we would not have otherwise done on our own, and we loved every second of it.

"23 feb 2016 BA Bike tour (South)"

They know everything about the history of the Southern neighboorhoods of BA and can talk about it in a very interesting way! You just keep on listening. They really take care of the small group in the sometimes hectic traffic in BA. Really worth it!!!

"Excellent Tour and Guides"

BA Bikes was excellent! We did the South circuit. Our guides were great, very knowledgeable and fun, with great, easy to understand English and good humor. They really knew their history, and explained it in a way that was easy to understand. They talked about historical events, but also talked a lot about the current status politically, socially, and economically in Argentina and Buenos Aires, and gave us an idea of daily life here.

By ktaberle on TripAdvisor London, UK

"Unique way to experience the city"

My family and I recently did the North Circuit tour with BA bikes, and we had a great time. We only had a few days to see BA, and the bike tour gave us a great overview of the major sights and their history. Plus, we enjoyed the fresh air and the ability to cover a lot of ground in a short amount of time. Overall, we were really impressed with how professional and personable the staff was, and the price is unbeatable! Highly recommend it!

"Everything you ever needed to know about Buenos Aires, and on a bike!"

I did the Market Tour. It was GREAT! Our guide knew so much about the city - it was like I had my own pocket historian. We cruised around the city, looked for dead people in the cemetery, and I had plenty of time to myself to cruise around the Frances and San Telmo markets. Would definitely recommend this tour. Bike was comfy and felt like it could take me anywhere.

By Pele C on TripAdvisor London, UK

"North & South circuit in one day!"

We did both circuits in one day, it was a great way to take in a lot of the city in a short amount of time. Both routes are good as they show very different parts of the city- Wall of recommendations in the shop were really useful, and we used a couple of them while we were in BA. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting BA. Thanks for the great tours!

"BA Bikes Food Tour"

I took my family on the bike/food tour and it was the highlight of their trip to Buenos Aires. It was entertaining, unique, educational, and the guides were all around great guys! We definitely did not leave hungry.

"Amazing way to see Buenos Aires!"

BA Bikes is a great way to get an overview of the city. I highly recommend going on one of your first days to talk to a local guide and come up with ideas for your trip to Buenos Aires. Come hungry -- you will have lots of yummy food options. Ask for Gaston -- he was a very knowledgeable guide!

By Shannon B on TripAdvisor Australia

Our guides were so insightful and knowledgeable, they also made us feel safe on the bikes which were great quality as well. They went above and beyond for the tour group of 7 people answering any questions we had and introducing us to many Argentinian foods and places and history that we would never have known. If your thinking about doing this then do it!!!!! :) fantastic

"Food bike tour"

Regarding the Food Bike tour I might say that is extremely enjoyable and i would highly recommend it to everyone. We have a little taste of pretty much every traditional meals we enjoy informally with our friends: empanadas in the plaza, bondiola and chori in the costanera, home made ice cream in av. de mayo and great coffee in a confiteria tradicional. Everybody LOVED it, and it was a great ending for our trip.

By Emily Clarke on TripAdvisor Miami, FL

"Great trip highly recommended"

Great relaxed trip around the south of BA, our guides were fantastic and had the group smiling all trip. The trip was also really informative especially the main plaza and both my girlfriend and I loved it. Cheers guys!

"Wonderful way to see Buenos Aires"

The tour lasted approximately 4 hours and I definitely felt like I got a great overview of the South side of the city. The guides and their peers at the bike shop were also very helpful in recommending restaurants and other things to see in the city. Everyone seems to love their job and is genuinely interested in making sure you enjoy BA as much as they do.

By Erika J on TripAdvisor London, UK

"Best tour ever!"

It was my first bike tour ever and I wish all the ones I will take in the future will be of the same level as this one. I took the South tour through La Boca, Puerto Madero, Plaza de Mayo and other place with. I had the luck to meet the group working at BA Bikes and I must say they one more friendly than the other. Could not recommend this more!

Pedal like a Porteño

Find your feet in the city and discover the best bits of Buenos Aires's bustling metropolis. This city tour takes it all in, exploring Buenos Aires’s tumultuous history, rich culture, striking architecture, mesmerizing street art, and tranquil coastline. By the end of this bike tour, you’ll be left feeling a little bit like a ‘Porteño’ (a Buenos Aires resident) yourself. This city tour stops at Parque Lezama, La Bombonera, Caminito, Reserva Ecológica, Puente de la Mujer, and Plaza de Mayo.

Begin your bike tour with a stop at Parque Lezama. Located in the vibrant neighborhood of San Temlo, this is the city's oldest park, home to the National Historical Museum as well as a monument to the city's founder – Don Pedro de Mendoza. Soak up its tranquil atmosphere as you pedal past the landscaped gardens and stately trees.

Venture on to La Bombonera, the iconic stadium of Boca Juniors, one of Argentina's most beloved football clubs. Named affectionately after the box of chocolates it resembles, your guide will share the enduring legacy of this stadium's status as a foremost site of Argentina's most beloved sport.

Continue cycling towards the trendy La Boca neighborhood, where your bike tour will stop at one of Buenos Aires's most iconic streets. Caminito is a lively pedestrian area that is a hub of artistic expression, where tango dancers perform on the streets, and vibrant facades display captivating artwork. Try a bit of Argentine tango yourself or ask your guide about the magnificent murals that adorn the walls.

Leaving the vibrant streets of La Boca behind, you'll journey to Reserva Ecológica. This ecological reserve is a maze of scenic trails, so take in the beauty of the wetlands and diverse wildlife that call this oasis home.

Your bike tour then crosses the Puente de la Mujer. Its name means 'Bridge of the Woman' in English, and its sculptural, organic form is inspired by the entangled legs of a tangoing couple, creating a visual effect that is striking and serene in equal measure.

Your day tour then arrives at Puerto Madero. This rejuvenated waterfront district showcases the city's modernization while preserving its historic port heritage and providing stunning views of the Rio de la Plata.

This guided tour's final stop is Plaza de Mayo, the historic heart of Buenos Aires. Ringed by important historic buildings, including Casa Rosada (the presidential palace), this square has been a focal point for protests and political movements throughout Argentina's history. Your guide will provide an insight into the symbolism of the square for the Madres de Plaza de Mayo and other valiant political movements during the time of Argentina's military dictatorship.

This bike tour includes a lunch of an Argentine sandwich with your choice of filling: beef, pork, chicken, or cheese. Armed with a true sense of Buenos Aires’s fiery ‘Porteño’ culture, the city’s cultural highlights, and your guide’s insider recommendations, this bike tour leaves you ready to capitalize on your time in ‘La Reina del Plata’.

«Luciano provided a super valuable tour around palerma and recoleta neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. Great bikes, safe and effective bike route, very calm and chill pace but you see a ton.. I highly recommend this one for sure. Luciano really knows his stuff. Provides a great overview of micro Argentina-specific historical facts and much, much more. Gilda was very sweet and accommodating when I had to make some adjustments to my booking due to the weather (heat wave) here in Buenos Aires. We read all the messages and left our hotel with plenty of time to spare we thought. Uber in this city is tough to crack. Withdrawing cash is another challenge. Maps took us on a wild goose chase. Our fault entirely. For 4 1/2 hours Carlos took us on a fantastic tour. History, dancing, culture & sport. A visit to Boca Juniors the home of the feeder club for Brighton & Hove Albion. Seagulls! The birthplace of argentine tango and its origin story. All of the beautiful national buildings. Even the new neighbourhoods with their own growing stories. We learnt how to ‘take’ Mate. He taught us the etiquette and what not to do. Fascinating. I highly recommend this tour. Tonight we are off to La Brigado for dinner. So many brilliant recommendations! Thank you Carlos. • SnowyShasta 0 contributions 5.0 of 5 bubbles Wonderful way to see Buenos Aires We had a great day riding around Buenos Aires with Julián. We chose the full-day tour, as we realized before coming that a bike was a great way to see this very large city. We loved the fact that the group size was small (there were only 4 of us) so we didn’t have to struggle to keep a large group together. And Julián got to know each of us individually and we were able to ask and get answers to all sorts of questions about the city, the country, the culture, and more. He was even able to satisfy my curiosity about the rocks added to a sculpture on Plaza de Mayo (in honor of Covid victims, which no place online was able to tell me). Be aware that the full day is a somewhat demanding tour - although BA is relatively flat and the rising was mostly easy with plenty of stops to look around and learn more, we covered more than 20 miles. As someone who doesn’t bike often but is in decent shape I was able to complete the ride without issues, though. My husband is more of a foodie than I am, but even I appreciated the tastes of local culture, especially the alfajor and the most amazing empanada I’ve had, either here or in Montevideo. Overall an experience I definitely recommend. We like to do bike tours in new cities, and this was one of the better ones, with good coverage of both big sites and more local flavor, and I loved the small group size. First of all, the communication from Biker street is excellent, we knew exactly where to meet and how to get there. The company also shares via email many helpful tips for navigating the city. Biking is a good way to visit the sights here. Carlos taught us so much about the city and Argentina. We learned about the origins of the tango, how to make and share matte and all about football in Agentina. We tried delicious local food and toured several different neighborhoods. Thank you Carlos for a wonderful day and for recommending Cadore gelatto (not that we needed to eat anymore but it was amazing!). Read more Written January 22, 2024

Where to go?

There are tons of options but here are some of the best places to explore by bike:

In the neighbourhood of Puerto Madero, the 350-hectare Costanera Sur Ecological Reserve is one of the biggest urban nature reserves in the world. We recommend exploring its trails and connecting to nature to appreciate the native flora and fauna and to rest a while with a view of the Río de la Plata.

Over in Palermo is another one of the city’s largest green spaces: Parque Tres de Febrero , with its rose garden, lakes, planetarium and racecourse.

Another park to visit is Parque Centenario on the border of Caballito, Almagro and Villa Crespo. Here you can drop by the Bernardino Rivadavia Museum of Natural Sciences, and nearby you can discover a quiet neighbourhood with quaint European-style houses.
