More than 20 million people are within a four-hour drive of the ferries and airlines that bring visitors to Block Island, and 10 million can reach a ferry or airplane in under two hours.

COMING AND GOING

By Ferry Block Island Ferry/Interstate Navigation provides year-round service from Point Judith, Rhode Island (304 Great Island Road, Narragansett, R.I.) to Old Harbor, Block Island. A second high-speed catamaran offers daily service from Fall River, Massachusetts and Newport, Rhode Island to Block Island during the summer. Block Island Express gets you to Old Harbor in just over one hour on a high-speed catamaran from a terminal in New London (2 Ferry St., New London, Conn.) that’s right next to the Amtrak train station. It runs May through September. Block Island Express also offers connections to Block Island from Orient Point, Long Island, via its Cross Sound Ferry service. The two services have matched-up schedules making it convenient and quick to take the fast ferry from Orient Point to New London and connect to the ferry to B.I., all in 2 hours and 45 minutes,including layover. By Commuter Plane New England Airlines has provided daily scheduled air service to Block Island from Westerly, Rhode Island, since 1970. The airport (56 Airport Road, Westerly, R.I.) is just off Interstate 95 and is an easy drive or train ride from anywhere in New England. By Private Plane Block Island State Airport welcomes private prop planes on its one-lane runway. There is no control tower, but pilots should announce themselves on frequency 123.00. Block Island is so manageable, you do not need a car.

On Foot. The sneaker express is an easy way to enjoy the shops, restaurants and hotels in Old Harbor. A 15-minute walk from the ferry will take you to the main beach.

On Bikes. Bicycles are an affordable and enjoyable way to explore the island. Rental stands offer bikes to fit the needs of the entire family or bring your own over on the ferry.

On Mopeds. Mopeds can be rented around the island, and can accommodate one or two passengers. Mopeds may be driven on all paved island roads, but are not allowed on dirt roads.

Museum of Modern Art

This is a branch of the Main Art Museum, where exhibitions of contemporary art, master classes, creative workshops are held. This is the only place in the city where you can get acquainted with modern art.

Museum of the Institute of ecology of the Volga Basin of the Russian Academy of Sciences

If you ask the locals if they know about the existence of this museum, they will say that this is the first time they have heard about it. Meanwhile, this museum is quite interesting and worthy of visiting, and it will be interesting for children here. Among the exhibits are samples of the oldest rocks from the region, minerals, samples of oil from Devonian deposits, which was mined in the Samara region, fossilized prints of plants and animals, and much more. Victory Park

Victory Park is one of the few places in Togliatti where tourists can just walk in their free time. In the center is a monument erected on the day of the 40th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War, and nearby is the alley of memory with several more monuments. There are alleys for walks in the park, there are shops and green spaces, a tank, a self-propelled gun and a gun from the Second World War are placed on the site. Monument To Tatischev

Spaso-Preobrazhensky Cathedral

Several funny sculptural compositions were built in Soviet times in an attempt to create at least something attractive in Togliatti. This, of course, is not a real museum, but rather an entertainment park, where visitors are introduced to physical phenomena in an entertaining and funny way, while explaining the principle of the origin of certain phenomena. Deception of vision, magic electric ball, giant furniture, experiments with magnets, bottomless well, shadow theater, experiments with pendulums, etc., in total more than 70 exhibits. Embankment and beach of the Avtozavodsky district

In the Avtozavodsky district there is a long sandy and Pebble Beach with an embankment. It stretches along the entire coast of the district, interrupted in the middle by boat stations. This is a favorite place for citizens to relax in the summer, so in good hot weather it is always fun and noisy, and there are many beautiful girls on the beach. The embankment itself does not represent anything outstanding: there are no architectural attractions, amenities, and beauties. Garibaldi Castle and Park

Garibaldi Castle and park is a hotel and tourist complex in the village of Khryashchevka, 40 kilometers from Togliatti and 125 kilometers from Samara. The building of a beautiful castle in the Gothic style, as if transferred from somewhere in old England, is surrounded by a beautiful manicured park, statues. There is a fountain and a restaurant, and in summer there is a tent cafe. In winter, of course, there is no park with its beauties and a fountain.

There are dozens of shops located upstairs in the same building and grocery stores on the ground floor. There is a small food concession offering hot food, snacks, alcohol & tobacco from 10AM-10PM. Laundry services available (dry cleaning must be taken elsewhere).  Also, there is a new modern hotel called Hotel Chocolate that is adjacent to the "A Volga Girl" office which is highly recommended, if the company luxury apartment is occupied. $480-$850

One-Bedroom Company Apartment This luxurious 3 room flat is located in a security building (located 1 block from A Volga Girl's office) and has all of the amenities of home. It boasts a separate living room, bedroom and fully furnished kitchen with clothes washer, TV and cable, and WiFi.  Our clients usually prefer these accommodations due to the many amenities. This rental priced at $69.50 per night plus a $40 cleaning fee. $735

Food $50-$100 per day

Togliatti has a wide array of eating establishments. Our friendly and helpful office staff will gladly guide you to some of the "preferred visitor spots" located throughout the city. In addition, there are at least four great restaurants and cafes in the area (including a few grocery stores) -- all within walking distance from A Volga Girl office, A Volga Girl apartment and the two recommended hotels.

Ground transportation $100-$200

Three, four, or five taxi rides per day around Togliatti during a 10-night stay would cost between $100-$150, depending on whether your fares are driven within or between the 3 primary Togliatti city districts. Taxi fare back to Samara Airport for your departure should run approximately $70.

We do not contract with outsiders; all of our intepreters are drawn from our full-time office staff , with everyone having earned a University degree in English. Clearly, for those clients corresponding with women that are fluent in English (levels "4" and "5"), the use of interpreters when visiting Togliatti is unnecessary. For most of our visitors, the use of skilled interpreters is a vital component in the in-person process of getting to better know the one or more ladies that you have traveled over 6,000 miles to meet. We suggest the utilization of our interpreters in an on-and-off manner.
