THINGS TO DO ON YOUR FRANCE HOLIDAY
For a France holiday that’s steeped in history, Normandy is a must. From exploring the famous D-Day beaches in Calvados and Manche to admiring the fascinating Bayeux Tapestry at the Bayeux Museum, you’ll never be short of things to do and see in the northern French city. One of France’s most stunning sights, Mont-Saint-Michel is nearby too which makes an excellent hike.
If soaking up the sun on a white sand beach is more your thing, head south. The French Riviera is awash with mesmerising shoreline and glamourous seaside towns to relax in. You can also explore its array of chic boutiques, glitzy restaurants and opulent architecture. Be sure to pack your sun cream though, because temperatures soar up to 30 degrees in the South of France.
You probably know by now that wine tasting and vineyard tours are an essential part of a holiday to France, but have you considered cycling? Burgundy in central France offers some unmissable cycling and wine tours, as the gorgeous countryside vineyards are the perfect routes. Loire’s full of enchanting countryside to explore too, along with fairytale-style chateaux and cathedrals to admire.
FOOD & DRINK IN FRANCE
French cuisine is admired all around the globe, so be sure to try lots of delicacies on your France holiday. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can find classic l'escargot (snails) in its hometown, Burgundy, but it’s also served up in most bistros around the country. Frogs legs, or ‘cuisses de grenouille’, grace the menus of many city bistros too - there’s even the famous Le Frog restaurant in Nice!
But don’t worry if that doesn’t take your fancy, because you’re bound to enjoy something from France’s array of bakeries and patisseries. Start every morning of your France holiday with a hot, fresh croissant or crusty baguette, or end every meal with a melt-in-the-mouth gateaux or chocolate souffle.

Things to know before you travel
Check your passport dates
On the day of travel, UK passports must have at least six months until date of expiry and be less than ten years old, even if it has six months or more left.
Apply for a Global Health Insurance Card
The new Global Health insurance card (GHIC) is replacing expired European Health Insurance Cards (ETHIC). These cards give you access emergency state-provided healthcare during a temporary stay.
Take out travel insurance
Travel with peace of mind! Adequate insurance includes cover for medical costs and compensation related to travel cancellations or delays. Don’t get caught out!
Entry to Disneyland Paris
We no longer require a Vaccine/Health Pass for entry into Disneyland Paris. Face masks are no longer required within our Disney Parks, as well as on collective transport. We encourage face masks to be worn during our parades, shows and night-time spectaculars.
Travelling to France by Car?
When travelling by car, please remember to ensure you have the minimum insurance cover required for driving in France. Please check all local requirements when driving in the country, including the need to have a GB sign clearly displayed on the rear of your vehicle, either in the form of a sticker or as part of the license plate. Check the UK government guidance for driving abroad when planning your trip.
We want your journey to and from the magic to be as easy and smooth as possible. To make sure you’re prepared for your Disneyland Paris adventure, please note that there are new rules for travelling in Europe. See our top tips below, plus UK government advice for travelling to France and returning to the UK . As of the 31st of March there is no longer a need to complete Passenger Locator Forms. The UK is rate a ‘Green country’, meaning you can enter frictionless if you are fully vaccinated (booster may be required). If you are not vaccinated or boosted a PCR (<72hrs) or antigen (<48hrs) test is required for entry. Under 12s are exempt from these requirements.

- Please note that customs may check if you have a return or onward travel ticket, proof of accommodation and enough money for your stay. You may not bring any dairy or meat or any product containing them into the EU (exceptions apply). Please note that you’ll need a certificate if you wish to take certain plants and plant products into the EU. - Rules around mobile data roaming have changed and you may face charges when using data roaming abroad. Please check the data roaming policy of your mobile phone provider for more information. At Disneyland Paris we have free Wi-Fi connection available in the Parks, restaurants and in the Hotels. - Please note that the pet passport scheme is no longer valid for travel in the EU. You will now need to obtain an Animal Health Certificate (AHC) for your pet. Allow at least 1 month to arrange this and any relevant vaccinations. - A visa is not required for stays up to 90 days over a 180-day period in the European Union. - Visit the UK government website for up-to-date travel advice .
