We decided on a family trip with our sons and wife's and 5 grandchildren on arrival you really get the wow factor as you walk in its so geared up for children it's been a few years since the America Disney trips but this seems to be England's version of a theme hotel with the characters walking around meeting the children which they loved, the rooms we choose the Wanyama view rooms were laid out lovely with the childrens own little sleeping area and them being able to wake up and watch the giraffe zebras and giselle breakfast although a bit chaotic had a wonderful choice, my only disappointment was I think reception staff could have been a little more informative we were not given the event list the first day I had to go and ask the second morning if they had any planner list if we were given this on day one I think our stay would have been better planned, but overal we had a memorable 2 days and would go back in the future.

This is our 3rd time in stopping in as many years. We arrived early evening on friday. We were staying for 2 night's, however had booked in each night through different companies. We were met by Julie on reception and we explain the way we had book our stay. So 2 night's but in different rooms. She was brilliant sorted the room out for the Friday night and explain to go and see her Saturday morning to sort out Saturday night. Went to julie Saturday morning, she remembered us. Said leave everything in the room and everything would be moved into the new room. Gave us the new room number, told us to go and enjoy the park and leave everything with them. Brilliant. Went to the hotel restaurant on the Saturday night. Had Julian as our waiter, as we have had everytime we've been. Great bloke and makes you feel very welcome. The food good to. Remember to use your merlin pass if you have one for the discount. The hotel is a great place to stop if you're going to use the park. It's very clean and room are a good size. Themed rooms or not. The hotel also has a good size pool with a new play area for the kids to play in. In the evening you're able to go and walk around and have a look at some of the animals in wanyama village and reserve. We find all the staff very friendly and willing to help if you have any problems. We enjoyed our stay so much this time we're going to come back in October for a couple of days, and get the train into London for the day

Cons...Restaurant meals where limited at safari hotel and all seemed to be spicy, and restaurant staff there at table booking where quite rude, would ignore you for quite a while even when they could see you waiting even when not busy in restaurant. The vending machine didn't work and no out of order sign was put on, had to go to reception and they did refund me the money I'd put in. could do with mini fridges in rooms as our daughter has milk and we had to stick it in sink of cold water. pros..a very nice helpful female staff member from the pool area tried to get us a certain chocolate bar that we couldn't get from the vending machine, went above her duty to try for us and came to our room with a complimentary offer of pick n mix, which was really lovely of her. Reception staff very helpful and friendly also. Rooms clean and nicely decorated, Thank god for Aircon in room which was greatly needed. Very good breakfast Buffett lots of selection.

We had a lovely stay here. Room did not have much of view due to a wall but could see the giraffes roaming. Room was clean and had everything we needed. Had a fab time in the evening Had dinner in the temple restaurant buffet style was basic but ok. Children were able to help themselves which was nice. We then walked round the safari village and up into the viewing area. This is just for hotel guest after the park shut so was nice and peaceful. We swam in the pool after booking our time slot. Was lovely and warm. I would recommend pre booking a table for dinner before you arrive and booking swimming time slot as soon as you arrive. Lovely quality family time. Few niggles but nothing that stopped us enjoying our time at Chessington.

A very clean and presentable hotel. The room was very clean and the facilities excellent, all apart from a lack of one key essential, a loo brush. Surely a hotel located at a theme park, full of rides designed to take the human body to it's limits, would have such an implement? Despite this small, but essential detail, we'll be back... Well, we will be once I've heard back from the email I've just sent requesting an explanation for an erroneous £5.00 charge they've just taken from my account today (not bog brush related...). Another observation is the apparent keenness of staff to remind you to vacate your room before 10am. We had a door knock just before 9am, with cleaners lined up in the corridor. That's the first time I've experienced this at a hotel. A tad unnecessary and made us feel slightly unwelcome in a really nice hotel.
