Day 1 – Istanbul Historical City Tour   (Lunch included) Byzantium & Ottoman Relics 08:30 am –  You will be collected from your hotel by our travel team for the tour of Byzantine and Ottoman Relics. You will meet with the local tour guide and start a fully guided Istanbul city tour. Istanbul Visiting Sights: – Hippodrome of Constantinople – Hagia Sophia Mosque – Grand Covered Bazaar – Blue Mosque – Topkapi Palace Museum 17:00 pm –  At the end of the day tour, return back to your hotel. Tour ends.

Istanbul by Night: Dinner & Show Cruise on the Bosphorus 19:30/20:00 – We will collect you from your hotel and transfer to our yacht. The panoramic view of Istanbul by the Bosphorus at night, dinner, belly dancing Show, Dj music, and folk shows will both be memorable. Entertainment Program: Belly Dancing Show Anatolian Folk Dances D.J Music Turkish Romany Dance At the end of the dinner and Show cruise on the Bosphorus program, transfer to hotels at midnight. 24:00 – You will be returned back to your hotel.

Day 2 – Dolmabahce Palace Museum & Bosphorus Cruise Tour    (Lunch included) Dolmabahce Palace & Bosphorus Cruise Istanbul offers a lot to see, and on this tour, we will do a visit to the sites out of the historical old town. 08:30 am – You will be collected from your hotel by our travel team for the tour of Dolmabahce Palace Museum & Bosphorus boat trip and cable Car on Pierre Loti Hill. You will meet with the local tour guide and start fully guiding the Istanbul city tour. Istanbul Visiting Sights: – Part of Old Byzantine City Walls – Golden Horn – Pierre Loti Hill and Fly over Cable Car (if it is not closed) – Dolmabahce Palace Museum – Bosphorus Boat Cruise Between Europe & Asia Continents – Shopping opportunities on the way back to the hotel 17:00 pm –  At the end of the day tour, return back to your hotel. Tour ends.

Remarks: Grand Covered Bazaar is closed on Sundays. Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays. Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia Mosque are closed on Friday due to Prayer. Dolmabahce Palace is closed on Monday.

Day 1: Arrival to Istanbul & Afternoon Old City Tour : You will be greeted at the airport by one of our colleagues holding a sign of Efendi Travel, he/she will accompany you to our vehicle and you will be transferred to your hotel directly. The tour starts with pick up from your hotel (Old City and Taksim areas provided with complimentary pick-up service) at around 13:30 and finishes at around 16:30 at Sultanahmet square and then dropped to your hotels. You will visit: Topkapi Palace (former residance of Ottoman Sultans and today is a museum including the sections of Treasury, Sacred Relics, Sultan Pavilions and Harem), after that you will visit Sultan Tombs of 17th and 18th centuries. Day 2: Morning Old City Tour & Departure from Istanbul : The tour starts with pick up from your hotel (Old City and Taksim areas provided with complimentary pick-up service) at around 08:30 and finishes at aroudn 12:30 at Grand Bazaar we will start with Roman Hippodrome (the site of ancient races, games and riots). It was also used for similar purposes during the Ottoman Era. Today, you can observe some of the historic monuments at site including Serpentine Column, Egyptian Obelisk and German Fountain). After that we will continue with Blue Mosque. Blue Mosque (Sultan Ahmet Mosque), a unique example of Ottoman architecture. The inside walls of the Mosque are decorated with beautiful Turkish Tiles. Million Stone (an ancient monument partially remained today. It is situated right at the centre of the city to show the directions to East and West.And then continue to St.Sophia Museum (Holy Wisdom Church built on 537 as the Cathedral of East Roman Empire. Today, it is a museum where the remains belonging to Christianity and Islam are visible together. It is currently listed on World Heritage Sites List. The tour ends at around 12:30 by visiting Grand Bazaar. (One of the largest and oldest covered markets in the world.And then dropped to your hotels. Absolutely Turkey

An excellent way to see the highlights of Turkey for those short on time. You'll see many cultural and historical sites as well as get all those Instagram shots (if that's your thing). Enquire about upgrading to the cave hotel in Cappadocia - it's an absolutely must-have experience. Breakfast and dinners are included however I would recommend getting out of the hotel in Capadoccia making your way into Urgup and the waterfront in Izmir where there are an abundance of small eateries (Sofra was amazing) to try authentic local cuisine. Our guide Nadir made this trip - there wasn't a single question he couldn't answer (and we tried!). He genuinely cares about his guests and goes out of his way to make the trip perfect - when our hot air balloon ride was cancelled on the first day, he woke up early to accompany us on the second day and would probably have blown the balloon up himself to get us the experience we were there for. Our driver Dursun was lovely and took so much pride in providing a safe and clean journey. The days are long because there is so much ground to cover, but I would highly recommend the trip to anyone looking for a fuss-free way to see the highlights of this beautiful country. Pack a few extra lira for taxis to get out and about during free time if you want to see a bit more of the overnight towns.

Absolute Turkey

Very good trip. The leader Engin was excellent and was at our Bec and call 24/7. I feel for his sanity he needs some nights off and just tell us about a few restaurants but not take us there - do his own thing. The whole group doesn’t need to always be together. We had one person that struggled to keep up with group and I felt some pressure to wait for her or help her- I don’t think she had much insight into the affect she was having on group. Otherwise was a great and diverse group.

Anatolian Civilizations | 10 Days

We really appreciated this 10 day trip. It is very well organized, nice hotels, excellent guide and very experienced driver. Some group members caused some problems and the guide managed it professionally. We were a group of 22 travelers and most of the people were nice and kind. The food is mediocre as it is an open buffet and not serving to the table. The pace of the trip is fast because Turkey is very big and I understand there are long roads to drive. This is how you see inside the country. The good think the driver stops every 2 hours for toilet or any other needs. for its price, the our outcome is excellent. We highly recommend this tour.

Magic Carpet Tour

Fez Travel packed in lots of sights and things to see and do. I liked the variety in our stops and sights. Well planned except for the last couple of days. Somehow, they need to be tweaked so there are not so many unreasonable night departures. I would have rather paid a bit more and had the meals ordered when we sat down. Buffet meals were luke warm, over cooked, and meats were so dry from heating for long periods. The meals we sat down and was served were much better, tastier, better variety of foods.

I would have enjoyed this tour more if I was given more free time, or time at Hierapolis, instead of being shuffled to pottery, jewelry or linen stores. PLEASE TourRadar, list these sale scams into the tour itinerary so those of us who appreciate places and adventures are not stuck with a shopping experience that we didn't ask for. Buffets are fine for included food, but would be nice if the food was less options and more time spent on something delicious or unique.

Day 1 : Northern Cappadocia Tour (Lunch included)

Pick up from hotel early morning at 04:00 am and transfer to airport to take a flight to Cappadocia. Once you arrive to Istanbul airport, please proceed to counter to do self check-in and take your boarding pass by presenting your passport. Upon the boarding pass information, please go to boarding gate and embark. After your arrival to Cappadocia Airport, pick up at the exit of first gate by driver. (Holding a sign with your name on it.) Transfer you to join the Northern Cappadocia Tour. Visits to Goreme Panorama which has a stunning view of Goreme Village, land of fairy chimneys, Open Air Musesum which is the biggest monastery complex of the region. Then visiting Ortahisar, a typical village with its castle and cave food storage and Pasabag,(Fairy Chimney valley) which has mushroom like formed rocks and very interesting fairy chimney forms. We pass through the Imagination valley, Devrent, where you have the impression that animals are petrified in the rocks. Midday, lunch break in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, walking along the Red River which is the longest river of Turkey and visiting small village very famous with its pottery workshops. Here, you will have a chance to see how the pottery is made and if you like you may also try. End of the day, going back to hotel bu passing through Love Valley which has incredible view. Arrival to hotel, free time and overnight in Cappadocia in cave hotel.

Day 2 : Southern Cappadocia Tour (Breakfast- Lunch included)

Pick up from hotel around 10:00-10:15 am by the tour guide and join the Southern Cappadocia Tour. Visiting Uchisar Castle which is the biggest fairy chimney used as a fortress by many civilizations. Hiking about 4 km in Red Valley and passing through Rose Valley by exploring rock churches which saved early Christians from Roman prosecution. Arriving to Cavusin village as an ancient settlement of the region and you may see its cave residences. Midday, lunch break in a local restaurant. In the afternoon, visiting Kaymaklı Underground City as the widest of the Cappadocia and it was used by refugees or people running away from catastrophes. Pigeon Valley offers a nice view over Uchisar Castle and it has pigeons still living in pigeon houses. The last visit to Three Beauties Valley which is famous with its vine factories and stunning view. End of the tour, transfer to airport to take a flight to Istanbul. After your arrival to airport, pick up at the exit of first gate by driver. (Holding a sign with your name on it) Transfer to hotel. End of our service.

Day 1 Istanbul Tour – Old City Tour

Your tour guide will meet you at your hotel lobby or cruise port and start your Istanbul Old City Tour;

Highlights of Topkapi Palace Museum ; (Topkapi Sarayi) More than just an Imperial Residence of Ottoman Sultans. It was seat of Supreme Executive Council for almost 400 years long. Topkapi Palace is a great monument of Oriental architecture which resembles power of Ottoman Empire.

Byzantine Hippodrome / Sultanahmet Square ; where chariot races were held in Roman Empire times, Egyptian Column from Byzantine Empire time. Today German Fountain is cornerstone of square.

Hagia Sophia (skip the line service is not available for active mosques – there is a queue for the entrance);  (Ayasofya, Santa Sofia) Built in 6th century by Emperor Justinian. It plays a very important role in Christian and Islamic World. After the Ottoman conquest the bells, altar, and sacrificial vessels were removed, and many mosaics were covered to convert church into a mosque.

Blue Mosque (skip the line service is not available for active mosques – there is a queue for the entrance);  Built in the early 1600s for Sultan Ahmet I of the Ottoman Empire. Blue Mosque is truly a magnificent masterpiece of architecture, with amazingly delicate proportions for a building of such massive scale.  

Grand Bazaar ; (Kapali Carsi) The largest and oldest covered markets in the world with over 4,000 shops. You can find colorful products of ceramic, leather, rugs, carpets, handicrafts, clothes, silver, and gold.

After completing your private Istanbul tour here, your private guide will accompany you on the way back to your hotel or Istanbul port.

Important Notes:

– This trip can be operated as walking tour because sites of visit are near to each other. But if your hotel is not centrally located, booking private van is recommended from and back to your hotel. – If one of the mosques are not visited, Basilica Cistern will be visited as a replacement. – On Fridays , Hagia Sophia or Blue Mosque will be visited from outside because of the worship.

Spice Market ; is a colorful indoor bazaar and has lots of shops offering a variety of products. Some of them are spices, purses, flavored teas, Turkish delight, nuts, as well as ceramics, and small souvenirs. Spice Bazaar is located in Eminonu Square which is the connection place of Bosphorus and Golden Horn.

Bosphorus Cruise ; is operated with public ferry to see both Istanbul’s European and Asian side. On the way we see Galata Tower, Dolmabahce Palace, Beylerbeyi Palace, Rumeli Fortress, old Ottoman villas, Bosphorus bridge, mosques. Your best Istanbul tour memories will be in Bosphorus. * Please advise if you prefer Private Yacht Option for Bosphorus Cruise .

Dolmabahce Palace ; Elegance and beauty with most luxury decoration, chandeliers, rugs, crystals, ceramic fireplaces. Beautiful palace, right on the Bosphorus with gorgeous furnishings, paintings, porcelains made for Dolmabahce.

Taksim Square ; A great place defining modern Turkey which witnessed important historical moments.

Istiklal Street; (Istiklal Caddesi) and Galata Tower along with embassies of European countries in Taksim.

Day 3 Istanbul Tour – Golden Horn Tour

Suleymaniye Mosque ; is the largest mosque in Istanbul and impressive both inside and out. Suleymaniye terrace offers lovely views of the Golden Horn and Bosphorus.

Fener District ; Continue exploring Istanbul’s rich religious history with a stop at Church of St. George. Since 1600s, the church has been the location of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople. It is recognized as the religious center of Eastern Orthodox Religion.

Balat District ; lines of drying laundry stretch across steep, winding streets. Century-old Ottoman houses lean against each other in a combination of reds, blues, and greens. And art galleries and design shops along water.

Itinerary Details

Day 1 private transfer to airport for direct flight to cappadocia.

Before or after breakfast in the morning (we will share the options to confirm the preferred time), get picked up from your hotel in Istanbul and transfer to Istanbul (IST) or Sabiha (SAW) Airport. After an hour and a 15 minutes flight, you will arrive at Kayseri (ASR) or Nevsehir (NAV) Airport. Meeting your guide upon arrival, re-plan (if desired) the itinerary over the map, sit back, relax, and enjoy these two days in Cappadocia after all the sweet rush of Istanbul.

Early in the morning, leave for the first stop Devrent (Imagination Valley) got its name from the strange rock formations called “fairy chimneys.” Unlike other fairy chimneys in Cappadocia, Devrent is instead formed more randomly, and most of the rock formations look like a silhouette.

The highlights of the day include visits to Goreme Open Air Museum, where you will see some fantastic cave churches dated back to the 10th-11th centuries and registered to UNESCO World Heritage Site List.

Since Goreme is a touristy town, there are not many “non-touristy” food options. Let us take you to one of our favorites to enjoy some of the local delicacies of Anatolian cuisine.

After lunch, head to Pasabag (Hermits’ Valley), where you can walk the lunch off wandering around the giant fairy chimneys, learn how they were formed while taking some beautiful photos. These wondrous rock formations are unique to this region, not only with the geographical process that followed very strictly but also with its historical background.

You can’t get enough of the wonders that Cappadocia has to offer , but there is a lot more to see. A quick ride will take you another fantastic experience, this time, a hands-on one. Avanos, known for its pottery art since Hittites, is one of the most beautiful towns in the region, and literally, it is the first settlement of the human being. The longest river of Turkey, the Red River, passing through the town, gave the locals the chance to collect the beautiful terra-cotta soil and make their pottery since the early centuries. While it had been the leading economic source of the town, today, it remains a touristy visit at many workshops, but again, we have some of the best on the list.

Time to check-in to your hotel and enjoy the time for sunset from your hotel lounge or terrace with a delicate glass of Cappadocian wine.

We will be recommending restaurants for dinner at walking distance or with private transportation, which can also be combined with an impressive performance of Whirling Dervishes at a historical caravanserai.

Day 2 Hot-air Balloon, Underground City, Uchisar and Flight back to Istanbul

Cappadocia is one of the best places in the world for enjoying a hot-air balloon ride, and with its unique landscape, it adds all the extra value to the activity. We do highly recommend to include this activity in your package as well.

Getting transferred back to your hotel, enjoy an excellent Turkish breakfast and then after check-out of the hotel, enjoy your first visit to one of the underground cities, ranging from 4 to 6 floors; those early civilizations benefited as shelters and storage purposes.

The rest of the day includes photo stops for Uchisar Castle and Goreme before another local lunch and get transferred to the airport for your flight back to Istanbul. Upon arrival, get welcomed at the airport and private transfer to your hotel.

We do prefer to book domestic air tickets to plan these two days perfectly, but if you would like to book your own tickets, we are happy to guide you with the flight codes and alternative flight times as well.  

Should I book pre/post tour accommodation?

All our itineraries are created to serve the most requested routes, and they are all flexible. You can ask for pre/post tours, accommodation, and any other travel services to make the planning even better. So, if you would like to visit Cappadocia daily or extend this package to 3 days, it is all doable.

What is the earliest flight we can get after the balloon ride?

If you are catching a tight connection, an international flight, or you need to rush back to the cruise port, it is better to check the timings of the hot-air balloon ride activity before booking. The earliest flight, at no risk, would be leaving at around 10:00. However, this will vary depending on the season, weather conditions, etc. So, it is best to check while booking.
