The tour was enjoyable and insightful. Captain Kerry was the best! He was knowledgeable, exciting, fun, & boy was he funny. He's all about safety and very accommodating. His communication and directions were excellent. Thanks Captain Kerry you're the best!

What a beautiful experience. I booked the evening 2hour tour. Great views but we definitely should have done the 4 hour cruise.

We had a great day on the Tennessee River with Captain Kerron. We learned so much about the area and scenery we saw. The 6 hour private tour was very relaxing and not spoiled by a spot of rain when we started out. We stayed nice and dry inside the boat's cabin and ventured back out as soon as skies cleared. If we return to Chattanooga, we would like to see the companion trip heading the opposite direction down to the gorge.

Captain Kerron did an outstanding job. He has a great sense of humor and stories. He kept us safe and made this the best part of my trip down to Chattanooga. I recommend that you do the 4 hour cruise and get plenty of time to swim and tube.

We booked a half-day trip with Blue Heaven River Tours this past weekend and it was such a fun day on the water!!! Captain Wyn was an awesome guide. He's very knowledgeable about the area and customized the trip based on what our group wanted to do. It was a perfect day! Worth every penny. I would HIGHLY recommend Blue Heaven River Tours to everyone.

This boat is the coolest boat ever and my brother is an AWESOME Captain !!! We went swimming, tubing, and we went through the lock to the river below and then on to the downtown Chattanooga river front, where we docked and went to a fantastic restaurant. We saw great views of the river valley and the three bridges as well as Ross's Landing where the famous trail of tears began..so much history and so much fun! Highly recommend the 1/2 day or 3/4 day tour for the most joy on the river, but the 2 hour scenic tour or scenic/history tour is also fantastic.

We booked the day with Cap'n Wyn mid-June and it was the best escape we had on our Chattanooga vacation. Wyn is a right guy, really easy to be with. He's filled with history about Chattanooga and he's funny. The houseboat is a dreamboat, fun to be on, and the price is right! Going thru the Lake Chickamauga lock was awesome, have never been thru one before. HIgh speed tubing was a hoot for my wife and girls, and swimming was wonderful, good water temp. Can't recommend this experience highly enough :)

We booked a two hour private couples cruise, We had such a great evening on this cruise, I would highly recommend taking this cruise in Chattanooga! our tour was great and we had the perfect evening.

The trip down the TN river and Lookout creek was very enjoyable. Captain Kerron was very knowledgeable about the history of Chattanooga and enjoyed sharing it. The scenery was incredible and Capt. Kerron took many pictures which he shared with us. The trip definitely met our expectations!

We booked an 8-hour trip with Captain Wyn this weekend, and it was BY FAR the best thing our family did during our time in Chattanooga!! This was the perfect trip for our family of four (children 8 an 6 years old), and one that everyone will remember for quite some time. Our incredible day started when we boarded Wyn's awesome Adventure Craft houseboat at 9 a.m. at Lakeshore Marina in Hixson. From there, he piloted us through the Chickamauga Lock toward downtown. Very cool experience dropping down 53' in this engineering marvel. From there, we got to do some high speed tubing behind his boat down the channel before docking up behind the Tennessee Aquarium and walking across the street to have lunch at the Blue Plate. After lunch, we headed the opposite direction up the channel, went through the lock the other way, and speeded out to Lake Chickamauga to spend the last few hours RELAXING. We swam, paddleboarded, and even sunbathed on a float soaking up the gorgeous views and weather. It was absolutely magnificent having so much fun away from the troves of tourists downtown and around Lookout Mountain. Don't get me wrong, we really enjoyed Rock City and the Incline Railway, but those didn't hold a stick compared to Blue Heaven River Tours. If you are already in the Chattanooga area or plan to take a trip here, I MOST HIGHLY RECOMMEND that you contact Captain Wyn to schedule a tour. He will completely personalize your tour so that your group has the absolutely best experience possible. Five stars!!

“Welcome to Russia, Blue Angels”: the first U.S. military presence over Moscow since the end of the Cold War

The Blue Angels’ 1992 tour saw the U.S. Navy demo team perform in Russia for the very first time.

The video in this article is part of a film called “Blue Angels: Around the World at the Speed of Sound”, produced to support the Blue Angels 1992 season. The story behind it is very interesting and it is worth to be told.

Generally speaking, air shows across the world to represent the United States are flown by the USAF Air Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds. But in 1992 it was the US Navy Flight Demonstration Squadron, the Blue Angels , that flew overseas for a series of air shows which included the first U.S. military presence in the skies over Moscow after the end of the cold war.

Obtaining the approval to go overseas was a hard thing for the Blue Angels Commanding Officer, Greg Wooldridge, who took command of the team in November 1990. In fact, the team’s three main tasks are: to improve community relations, to enhance the morale of the folks already wearing the US Navy uniform and, the most important of all, to enhance recruiting in the Navy. Since the Blue Angels mission is strictly linked to the Navy’s recruiting command, the team flying activity is mainly scheduled across the United States where there is more chance to improve recruitment.

However the 1992 tour saw the Blue Angels performing in Russia, Bulgaria, Romania, England, Spain, Italy, Finland and Sweden: eight different countries in one month, in the first European tour in 19 years.

Since this trip would have brought not only the team, but also the United States military services in several former Soviet Block countries for the first time, during winter training, Woodbridge thought to go to Hollywood to find a producer to realize a film which should have had to support the Blue Angels tour.

He found Rob Stone who had just started his production company and since Woodbridge had no money for this kind of project, he told Stone that he would have to get his own funding to produce the documentary.

Stone and two of his guys went to the Blue Angels winter training and they filmed a movie hosted by the Hollywood star Dennis Quaid which is called “Blue Angels: Around the World at the Speed of Sound” which was showed across the United States for almost two years and then sold to the Discovery and History Channel.

Stone did a great job with this film since it gave to the Blue Angels some extra exposure enhancing Navy recruiting.

Once they were in the former Soviet Union, the Blue Angels pilots were given the opportunity to fly with one of the Russian frontline fighters, the Su-27 Flanker of the Russian Knights or the MiG-29 Fulcrum of the Swift, the two Russian demonstration teams, while the American pilots hosted the former Soviet pilots in the two seat Blue Angel F-18 Hornet .

The tour in the former Soviet Union was a huge success for the Blue Angels, the first foreign flight demonstration team to perform there: they flew a modified air show in Moscow Day to honor the anniversary of the birth of the city and Woodbridge discovered that from west to east, people loved them.

Noteworthy, mixed formations, including Blue Angels F-18 and Russian Su-27 and MiG-29 jets were flown during the Russian tour.
