Bad Bunny Announces U.S. & Latin America Stadium Tour

latin america world's hottest tour

Update: Due to “overwhelming demand” and intense excitement for Benito’s upcoming stadium tour, six new dates were added to the lineup in the U.S. — including otra noche en Miami.

Here are the new dates added to the “World’s Hottest Tour:” Aug. 13 at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium; Aug. 28 at Yankee Stadium in New York; Houston’s Minute Maid Park is getting another date on Sep. 2nd; PETCO Park in San Diego also added another date on Sept. 18th; Sep. 24th at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas; and the SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles rounds out the newest date added for Oct. 1st.

Presale for the new dates starts on Wednesday, Feb. 2 at 12:00 PM local time with a regular sale happening on Friday, Feb. 4 at 12:00 PM.

This story was originally published on Jan. 24, 2022.

Get ready to max out your credit card! On Jan. 24, Bad Bunny announced he will be extending his time out on the road and revealed he will be hitting stadiums in 29 cities across the U.S. and Latin America.

The World’s Hottest Tour will be supported by DJs Alesso and Diplo on select dates as the opening acts in the U.S. The tour is slated to begin on Aug. 5, with the first leg of the tour hitting 15 stadiums across different U.S. cities until Sep. 20. Then in October, the tour continues with its Latin America leg in Dominican Republic, Peru, Ecuador, Mexico, Honduras, and more through December.

Benito uploaded an announcement video to Instagram and he quickly became the number one trending topic in the U.S. on Twitter .

The reggaeton superstar is no stranger to viral moments and massive success. In 2021 alone, he received his first (gringo) Grammy in the “Best Latin Pop Album” for YHLQMDLG as well as being named the most-streamed artist on Spotify for the second year in a row. He was also recently named one of the most fashionable musicians by Rolling Stone .

His popularity quickly sold out his arena tour for “El Último Tour Del Mundo 2022.” According to Billboard , over 480,000 tickets were sold in less than a week and it was projected to gross “ anywhere from $63 million to $84 million over 35 shows.” It only feels right that Bad Bunny would add more dates because the demand is certainly there.

After the announcement of the additional tour dates, his fans quickly flooded timelines on different social media platforms about not missing out on snagging tickets the second time around. One person joked on Twitter about selling their house to get the chance to see Benito perform.

Another person wrote begged fans who already have tickets to the shows to let those without them snag some. Overall, people are nervous about snagging tickets.

This announcement is a clear representation of Bad Bunny’s extraordinary growth as a global superstar. Just after announcing his tour  “El Último Tour Del Mundo 2022”  in April 2021, which will begin February 9th and will tour 35 indoor arenas across North America, the artist broke the record at  Ticketmaster  for the most ticket sales for a tour on its first day of sales since 2018. Bad Bunny quickly sold out all 35 shows, moving more than 500,000 tickets. In addition, the artist performed his first stadium concerts in December 2021, breaking audience records with two performances at the Hiram Bithorn Stadium in Puerto Rico. There is no doubt that after such success, “Bad Bunny: World’s Hottest Tour” in stadiums with an all new production will continue to elevate the artist’s career to new transcendental levels.

Proclaimed the most listened-to artist in the world for a second consecutive year by Spotify, Bad Bunny has distinguished himself for his revolutionary moves that constantly impact the music industry. Over the past year, Bad Bunny has released top hits that have earned him the title of #1 Latin Artist in the US by Billboard for a third consecutive year and was also named one of the top 10 most popular global superstars. As if that were not enough, he is also the highest-ranking Latin act on Billboard’s general all genre chart “Top Artists,” ranking at #10, and is the artist with the most hits to reach the Top 10 of the “Hot Latin Songs” chart since the charts inception.

Adding to his great accomplishments in 2021, the artist closed the year by surprising his fans with the premiere of the music video for “Te Deseo Lo Mejor,” which he made in collaboration with  The Simpsons . The series is known for bringing some of the most popular celebrities in the world to life in cartoon form and this time Bad Bunny caused a great impact with his participation, reaffirming his leading spot in the music industry.

The Puerto Rican sensation became Spotify's most-streamed artist last year for the second time in a row, racking up more than 9.1 billion streams in 2021.

He took home his first Grammy Award last March for his third album YHLQMDLG , which won best Latin pop or urban album. Bunny later raved about winning a "gringo Grammy" ("gringo" is a slang term for white) to W Magazine in May 2021.

PGA TOUR Americas continues its Latin America Swing with the Diners Club Peru Open, the fourth event of the 16-event calendar on the inaugural PGA TOUR Americas season. Los Inkas Golf Club in Lima, Peru, plays host with 500 Fortinet Cup points to the winner. The Diners Club Peru Open is the fourth of six events in the Latin America Swing, and the 141-player field features all three of the season’s tournament winners, as well as 50 of the top 60 players in the Fortinet Cup. After the season’s sixth event (Inter Rapidisimo Golf Championship, May 16-19), the top 60 players in the Fortinet Cup will be exempt into the 10-event North America Swing, beginning June 20-23 with The Beachlands Victoria Open presented by Times Colonist. Here's what you need to know for this week in Peru.

1. The race for Korn Ferry Tour cards heats up

The top 120 players on the PGA TOUR Americas Points List after 15 events will be eligible for the Fortinet Cup Championship. The top-10 players on the final 2024 Fortinet Cup Standings will earn exempt Korn Ferry Tour membership for the 2025 season. In addition, up to five conditional Korn Ferry Tour cards are available to the top two finishers in the Latin America Swing if these players do not finish in the top 10 on the final PGA TOUR Americas Points List. This event marks the fourth of six events in the Latin America swing; the third to last attempt at scoring a conditional Korn Ferry Tour card if a player doesn't receive one from the Fortinet Cup Championship. Matthew Anderson, the winner of last week’s 69th ECP Brazil Open, moved to No. 1 in the Fortinet Cup standings.

2. International talent rises

The field for the Diners Club Peru Open features 141 players from 18 countries. Twelve players hail from Argentina and 13 are from Canada (including Fortinet Cup points leader Anderson). Other countries represented include Australia, China, Colombia, Costa Rica, Finland, France, Japan and Scotland.

3. Anderson's hot streak

Anderson, who won last week’s 69th ECP Brazil Open and moved to No. 1 in the Fortinet Cup standings; has posted eight consecutive rounds of par or better, tied with Joey Vrzich and Devon Bling for the longest active streak on Tour. Anderson arrives in Peru coming off the strength of his win last week and with a tie for 21st at the Bupa Championship at Tulum and a tie for third at the Totalplay Championship at Atlas Country Club, the first two PGA TOUR Americas events played in Mexico. He looks to continue his good form heading into the rest of the Latin America Swing and the following North America Swing.

By Tomás Mier

Carin León will follow his history-making appearances at both Coachella and Stagecoach with a massive tour across the United States with stops in Europe later this year. On Thursday, the música Mexicana star announced the dates for his 2024 Boca Chueca Tour.

“Embarking on this tour is an exhilarating opportunity to share my new music with fans throughout North America and Europe alike,” he said in a press release. “Taking my songs and the vibrant essence of Música Mexicana to a global stage is truly an honor.”

After a performance at the Mid-State Fair in July, he’ll kick off his arena and amphitheater tour on Aug. 29 in Colorado, before making stops in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto, New York, and Nashville. He’ll also head overseas for shows in London, Madrid, and Paris.

It’s been an ultra-successful year for the musician, who’s successfully released crossover bilingual tracks in country and R&B over the last several months. Earlier this year, he worked with Keith Urban and Rosario on “Si Me Llevas Contigo,” worked with Kane Brown on “The One (Pero No Como Yo),” and dueted with Leon Bridges on “It Was Always You.”

K-Pop group ITZY showcases individuality on second world tour

N EW YORK (Reuters) - Members of the K-pop supergroup ITZY are looking to show a new side of themselves as the band takes its "Born to Be" tour to fans around the world.

The tour, which sees the girl band perform in 18 countries across Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, Europe, and North America this year, takes its name from the group's third studio album, released in January.

“There are our solo songs (on the album). So I think that's a very big difference (from the previous world tour) ... we have our own song (on) stage,” band member Ryujin told Reuters, in an joint interview with fellow members Yeji, Chaeryeong and Yuna.

“(Working) on our own songs ... really helped to express ourselves."

ITZY debuted in 2019 and has built a loyal fan base - called MIDZY - with a blend of vibrant pop, hip-hop and EDM influenced songs and messages of self-love and empowerment.

“Every K-pop group has their speciality... Our group's... is, first of all, performance and also, we have a main message that (is) to love ourselves," Ryujin said.

One of the band members, Lia, has been taking a break for health reasons since September, the group's label has been quoted saying in media reports.

“She's trying hard to come back really, really soon and she's doing great nowadays, we meet each other and hang out," Ryujin said.

The "Born To Be" tour began in Seoul in February and wraps in Hong Kong in August.
