KBS Tour vs. Dynamic Gold; Must Read Before Buying.

What is my personal experience on KBS, and Dynamic Gold shafts? I enjoy Dynamic Gold and KBS Tour equally. While the DGs launch low, KBS Tours launch high. Hard stepping them will still give you the KBS feel but with a lower launch and spin if you need to slightly lower the flight with KBS Tours. 

While the KBS Tours hard stepped still launches a little bit higher than the Dynamic Golds, it is a significant improvement over the KBS straight-in. Though overall profiles are still very different, keep in mind that sometimes a shaft just depends on how it is loaded to function (or not).

I can say that during my fitting, I preferred the feel of KBS and DG over PX, etc. But after playing for two years, I can frankly say that I need to return to DG .

 I need to swing with KBS as smoothly as I can because I can feel my tempo slipping. With my KBS, I’ve discovered that toe misses are the most frequent. Due to my inability to afford the cost of a new set at this time, I am returning to DG in the same heads via resift.

Kim Braly’s trademark shaft, the KBS TOUR, is excellent for players looking for mid-trajectory and shot versatility. How stiff is KBS TOUR?

The KBS Tour, in my opinion, has the most “neutral” feeling of the KBS lineup. In fact, the Tour feels incredibly slick and comfortable in the hands. The Tour is almost certainly forgiving of your hands if you miss a shot, I would almost say. The Tour seems to absorb the blow more than a typical steel shaft, which could cause some minor discomfort.

Dynamic Gold shaft specs.

All other iron shafts are compared to the Dynamic Gold, which serves as the industry benchmark. To enhance the performance of serious golfers, Dynamic Gold uses Variable Wall Technology and a step pattern that has been successfully used on the tour. This tour-weight, high-flex steel golf shaft is made for proficient players who want a low, penetrating ball flight for the best possible control and accuracy.

Which Dynamic Gold shaft is stiff?

KBS Tour vs. Dynamic Gold; Comparison.

Conclusion..

I experience the DG as being stiffer and the KBS as having a stronger kick. The shafts I currently own are DG XP S300, which are, in my opinion, somewhere in the middle, feeling slightly stiffer than KBS but not quite as stiff as the DG. 

The KBS shafts might be a terrible fit for you but a good fit for someone else; it all depends on what works and feels the best to you. Just because they cost more and are considered a “upgrade” doesn’t mean they are any better. If a custom fit is not an option, I recommend hitting both shafts to determine which one you prefer, assuming you can tell the difference.

I also observed that the shafts come with various iron heads, which may affect feel and shot outcomes because they have various characteristics.

Introduction

Most people would look at the stranglehold that Dynamic Gold and Project X have on the heavy weight iron shaft market and choose another battle to fight.  Kim Braly isn’t most people.  He jumped into the fight with the KBS Tour, and has converted thousands of golfers, including major champions, to his brand.  In this review, we examine why.

Where most heavy weight iron shafts are focused on stability, the trademark of the KBS Tour is its smooth feel.  There’s a distinct feeling of the shaft loading and kicking during the swing.  This is not to say that the shaft isn’t stable.  Most of the action is in the middle of the shaft, so you don’t sacrifice a stable tip to get this smooth feel.

Performance

Though it’s not a night and day difference, the KBS Tour does tend to promote a higher ball flight than its competitors Dynamic Gold and Project X.  This makes it an excellent choice for golfers who tend to be low ball hitters or those who simply prefer to see the ball in a higher trajectory window.

If you prefer a heavy weight iron shaft, but want a smoother feel, KBS Tour is for you.  It’s also a great choice for players who are seeking a slightly higher ball flight from their iron play.

What does the KBS Tour 120 shafts compare to vs S300 shaft? Driver swing speed of 95-98 mph 3/4 handicap

KBS makes a wedge version.

I just purchased Titleist AP2 Irons with KBS regular shafts, they are very balanced irons and mid-high ball flight. With this iron shaft there is no whipping and very smooth, I am 62 Years old but still can swing a club and I am very impressed with the combo, spending a little extra money for your irons is well worth it.

My elbows struggle with vibration of steel shafts. I am 65 years old and still play competitive Senior Amateur Golf events. I like your c tapered 110 feel. Will adding an after market dampening rod help the vibration issues of your shafts. Any suggestions appreciated.

I’ve used vibration dampening products, and they do change the feel, but I don’t know if they will help with your pain.

Stock advice: work with a fitter to find a good solution. Blind guess: I would take a look at the Nippon Modus for smooth feel.

I am currently playing Mizuno Pro 900 irons with the KBS tour x shaft. I am going to get a set of Mizuno mp-18 blade irons. If I go to the Nippon modus 120 x shaft am I going to have a similar feel but lighter. Mizuno does offer a KBS shaft in lighter shaft X flex. Thank you, J.Baker

I think you will find the Modus 120 to be a bit different than the KBS Tour. I would suggest working with a fitter to find something that fits your swing.

I am purchasing Titleist 716 AP1 irons and are considering the Dynamic Gold or KBS shaft. I play of 10 but are wayward with my irons. Which shaft is better for a straighter ball flight and more consistency? Thanks Ben

I’m not aware of any substantial changes to the KBS Tour since it was released. KBS would have more information on that.

Is the KBS TOUR stiff to heavy a shaft for a 13 handicapper swinging 90’s? I usually hit R300 really high but feedback and distance is hortible.

Hi – is the True Temper XP 115 S300 (fitted, 88swing speed, mid launch and 6200 spin with 6i) a comparable shaft to the Tour Stiff?

The KBS Tour is heavier but otherwise there are some similarities.

Adding nearly 30 grams will be a significant change. Have you talked with a fitter about it? Tried some irons with similar weight shafts?

Hi Matt, I currently play TaylorMade R9 irons with a Taylormade 90 by FST Stiff shaft. I’m upgrading to Tailor-made M4 irons with a Max 85 Shaft. Any thought on which would be more comparable to my existing shafts? The Stiff or a Regular Max 85? I think there both lighter than my existing shaft. Thanks.

I purchased some Mizuno irons with KBS shafts. On the label they say KBS under that is Tour by FST, by the KBS it has a small R inside a circle. I am trying to find out if these are regular or stiff, nothing on the shafts say either regular or stiff.

That sounds like a regular flex, but without seeing a picture I can’t say for certain.

HI Matt, I’ve been gaming the original KBS since 2009 w/ my Mizuno MP 58’s MMC. I’m eyeing a set of MP 18 SC in the KBS tour. Would you say the shaft profile and characteristics is the same as the original KBS that I’m playing now?

Been fitted for X100s and KBS X shafts in new srixon zx7s. Numbers on the trackman are neck and neck. Averaging 98mph club head speed with 7-iron. A lot of comments I read say they prefer the X100s and that they flight lower than KBS x.

The only way to know which shaft is best is to get fit. Online, all anyone can do is guess, unfortunately.

There’s the occasional discussion on the internet from time to time about KBS Tour being ‘counterbalanced’ and ‘building to lower swingweights’ (I presume in comparison to DG). Is this true for this shaft?

That’s a good question. I’ve never noticed the KBS Tour to feel strongly counterbalanced, so I’ve never taken the time to measure. So, short answer: I’m not sure.

Just picked up a set of KBS Tour By FST shafts but they don’t have a weight or flex sticker on them. How can I tell what flex they are?

You could have a club builder check their CPM to get an idea of that.

Old thread I know. Is there any whippy feeling with these in the tour flt 110 regular flex? My ball speed with 7 iron with true temper Amt red hovers around 115. Not sure swing speed. I know go get fitted, but how similar to the amt red would these fall? Of course not the descending weight, but as for whippy- I don’t want that lol.

Feel is subjective, so unfortunately I can’t tell you whether or not these will feel “whippy” to you.

Matt: I love my new Mizuno JPX923 irons with KBS Tour Reg. Shafts. I have 4 Ben Hogan Wedges I really like but they have APEX 4 shafts which are too stiff for me now that I am 70 years old. In your opinion will the KBS Tour Reg. Shafts be good for my Hogan Wedges? Thanks

I can’t speak to your swing but I like having matching shafts from my irons through my wedges.

The C Taper and KBS Tour are very, very different shafts.

I purchased p770s and didn’t do enough research and got kbs tour black shafts 120g.

My driver swing speed is about 97mph – are these shafts too heavy for me?

I hit the ball okay but notice my carry distances are much shorter than my old callaway rogue st max irons

I would never tell a player that a given weight is universally too heavy or too light for a given speed. What matters is A) fit and B) goals. If you want to get more distance, 120 gram shafts probably isn’t the way unless going lighter causes your ball striking to suffer.

A lot of people tend to compare the KBS Tour series to True Temper’s Dynamic Gold series of shafts. But from our experience, the KBS Tour 120 yields a higher launch and is more congenial for players who have a sweeping swing. So the KBS Tour 120 is better for us mortals.

The KBS Tour series of shafts are gamed by some of the highest-profile players in golf. But beyond that, the KBS Tour 120 is a great middle-weight option if you are looking for better stability from your irons.

How Does the KBS Tour 120 Perform?

One thing that we really liked about the KBS Tour 120 was that we were never afraid to unleash a 110% swing.

The KBS Tour 120 is stout enough to let you swing above yourself but it never feels noodly in the hands. The transition is very smooth with a mid kick point.

The launch is mid-high and the spin rates are average as well. The KBS Tour 120 also works with the player very well. We got the sense that the shaft was doing more than its fair share of the work, meaning that the energy transfer felt very efficient. Our testers were getting very good club head speed with these shafts and we believe it’s because of the active release.

Distance increases were notable as well. We were averaging 160.3 yards with our 4-irons equipped with the KBS Tour 120. Part of what makes the KBS Tour 120 still feel so stable is the stiffer tip section. All the action is in the middle and the tip stays stout on the release.

What flexes are available what swing speeds do they suit.

We tested the KBS Tour 120 specifically and the 120 gram version only comes in stiff flex.

That being said, the KBS Tour 120 was versatile and played well for almost all of our testers. If you’re swinging your 4-iron above 90 MPH, you should do well with the KBS Tour 120.

What Weights Are Available? What Swing Speeds Do They Suit?

Again, the KBS Tour 120 specifically is only available in a 120 gram version.

If you have an average iron swing speed, you should have no problem with this shaft. Even some of our testers who swing their 4-iron under 90 MPH were still getting good distance and feel from the KBS Tour 120.

The KBS Tour 120 is consistent no matter what your lie is like. It won’t make your irons ridiculously heavy; but it will likely add some stability. If you want to swap your graphite iron shafts for steel ones, the KBS Tour 120 is a good choice because the transition will be less jarring for you.

We were very impressed how the KBS Tour 120 shaft performed from the sand. It feels stable even if you chunk. You’re still able to make good contact and your ball flight will be more stable with these shafts.

My new irons I'm waiting on since Nov just got pushed to August due to the KBS Tour 120 shaft not available. My fitter says the DG S300 is another good option for me and we can get them in April. Thoughts? Thx for any opinions, Jeff.

Those are two different shafts imo. I play kbs tours. The kbs are counter balanced and play a little lighter. They are also 10g lighter to begin with . I didn’t get along with s300 but doesn’t mean you won’t. If I couldn’t get the tour I would personally look at modus 120. Just my 2 cents

I have used both the KBS 120 and standard DGS300 a lot. Both are great shafts, but just are quite different in weight, feel, and distance for me. The KBS 120 is a much lighter feeling shaft and I am longer with that shaft than DGS300 (about a half a club). Although the shaft profile is different, the weight difference is the metric that makes the shaft feel the most different to me. If you have demo'd a lot of iron shafts and like the KBS 120 shaft, perhaps look at the other 120 gram shafts like DGS300 120 and Nippon Modus 120 like mention by LSMO.

I would ask your fitter what his recommendation was based on first then consider the option he recommends because as it’s been pointed out by posters before, KBS and DG are different profiles, weights, and balance points which will definitely be an issue should to choose one over the other without knowing exactly why it was recommended

Thanks to everyone for the feedback - I'm going with my original choice that I actually tested and was fitted for. I'll just have to wait out the shaft delay until July. Thanks again.

Savvino-storozhevsky monastery and museum.

Zvenigorod's most famous sight is the Savvino-Storozhevsky Monastery, which was founded in 1398 by the monk Savva from the Troitse-Sergieva Lavra, at the invitation and with the support of Prince Yury Dmitrievich of Zvenigorod. Savva was later canonised as St Sabbas (Savva) of Storozhev. The monastery late flourished under the reign of Tsar Alexis, who chose the monastery as his family church and often went on pilgrimage there and made lots of donations to it. Most of the monastery’s buildings date from this time. The monastery is heavily fortified with thick walls and six towers, the most impressive of which is the Krasny Tower which also serves as the eastern entrance. The monastery was closed in 1918 and only reopened in 1995. In 1998 Patriarch Alexius II took part in a service to return the relics of St Sabbas to the monastery. Today the monastery has the status of a stauropegic monastery, which is second in status to a lavra. In addition to being a working monastery, it also holds the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum.

Belfry and Neighbouring Churches

Located near the main entrance is the monastery's belfry which is perhaps the calling card of the monastery due to its uniqueness. It was built in the 1650s and the St Sergius of Radonezh’s Church was opened on the middle tier in the mid-17th century, although it was originally dedicated to the Trinity. The belfry's 35-tonne Great Bladgovestny Bell fell in 1941 and was only restored and returned in 2003. Attached to the belfry is a large refectory and the Transfiguration Church, both of which were built on the orders of Tsar Alexis in the 1650s.  

To the left of the belfry is another, smaller, refectory which is attached to the Trinity Gate-Church, which was also constructed in the 1650s on the orders of Tsar Alexis who made it his own family church. The church is elaborately decorated with colourful trims and underneath the archway is a beautiful 19th century fresco.

Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is the oldest building in the monastery and among the oldest buildings in the Moscow Region. It was built between 1404 and 1405 during the lifetime of St Sabbas and using the funds of Prince Yury of Zvenigorod. The white-stone cathedral is a standard four-pillar design with a single golden dome. After the death of St Sabbas he was interred in the cathedral and a new altar dedicated to him was added.

Under the reign of Tsar Alexis the cathedral was decorated with frescoes by Stepan Ryazanets, some of which remain today. Tsar Alexis also presented the cathedral with a five-tier iconostasis, the top row of icons have been preserved.

Tsaritsa's Chambers

The Nativity of Virgin Mary Cathedral is located between the Tsaritsa's Chambers of the left and the Palace of Tsar Alexis on the right. The Tsaritsa's Chambers were built in the mid-17th century for the wife of Tsar Alexey - Tsaritsa Maria Ilinichna Miloskavskaya. The design of the building is influenced by the ancient Russian architectural style. Is prettier than the Tsar's chambers opposite, being red in colour with elaborately decorated window frames and entrance.

At present the Tsaritsa's Chambers houses the Zvenigorod Historical, Architectural and Art Museum. Among its displays is an accurate recreation of the interior of a noble lady's chambers including furniture, decorations and a decorated tiled oven, and an exhibition on the history of Zvenigorod and the monastery.

Palace of Tsar Alexis

The Palace of Tsar Alexis was built in the 1650s and is now one of the best surviving examples of non-religious architecture of that era. It was built especially for Tsar Alexis who often visited the monastery on religious pilgrimages. Its most striking feature is its pretty row of nine chimney spouts which resemble towers.

I found the head I like, and now doing a shootout between the S55's with KBS C-Taoer Light, Dynamic Gold and Nippon Modus Tour 120. Anyone have any experience as to what I should look for or expect?

compared flex to flex...the 120s are softer all the way around. Not to mention weight...130g vs about 110-120 depending on the flex chosen.

I had played DG S300 for many years. It was all I knew. Then I began experimenting some KBS shafts and eventually I tried the Nippon Modus3 Tour 120 shaft in stiff. For me, the Nippons felt smoother and the ball flight was slightly higher than the DG's. The other factor is weight. The Nippons are lighter flex to flex than the DGs, but you can still feel the head. I personally liked the way the Nippons released for my swing, which is one of moderate tempo with as smooth a transition from the top and I can produce. My swing lives or dies with tempo.

For me Dynamic Gold launches lower initially but the apex of the flight is higher. I have come to really hate Dynamic Gold. The Modus shafts have had a higher launch for me but it flattens out. I also did not see a lot of difference between the 105, 120, and 125. It would be nice if you could test them on the course so you can see how the ball reacts to shots you try to work one way or another. I will never play Dynamic Gold again.

I appreciate all the input. Anyone have any comparisons to the C-Taper Lite 110's. It is easy to just pick up a set of S55's to try, and if they fail. I will just put them back on Ebay.

Reason OP should try out these shafts yourself. What is great for one hacker does not mean it will be good for another hacker.

I’ve been playing 120’s for the past 3 months and my iron game is strong. Really strong. However, after playing S300’s for years, and despite my iron play being strong, I find myself missing the DG feel. I can’t pinpoint what exactly I’m missing, but the Nippons just don’t feel as crisp. The Nippons are definitely easier to swing, and I can go at them hard or take some off and they still perform. Considering how well I’m hitting them and the scores I’m posting it feels crazy to even talk about it, but here I am.

The Modus3 120 is smooth as can be. If you have a harsh transition then you might be better off going with the DG offerings. I have always felt the Modus3 had the same profile/feel as the AD-DI in the graphite sector. They share the same characteristics with a tip-stiff and softer butt end, they hold up to stronger than average swing speeds and thrive with a smooth transition.

Modus is the best feeling and smoothest shaft. Wish it fit my swing but I have to play c-tapers. Shafts are different for everyone you just have to get fitted properly and try them yourself to see numbers, ball flight, and what it feels like.

I'm kind of curious about the Nippon Modus 120's as well...I happened to get a set of KBS $ Taper and they seem to be really good. Anyone have any experience with both of these? Only reason I ask is because I'm considering a new set of heads and not sure I want to spend the extra money to swap shafts (if I don't have too). Not trying to thread jack, just curious. Thanks.

I believe you read the chart wrong. DI is medium in the butt, medium in the mid and stiff in the tip.

Give $ Taper a try, too. IMO, $ Taper is the next best feeling shaft after Modus 120 in that weight range.

C taper lites I feel are much different in feel. And they spin much less for me anyway relative to the S300. Modus felt more tip stiff with a soft butt section and it felt I could spin them with more ease.

Contrary to many, the DG s300's actually launch higher and spin less for me the the Modus 120 in both s and x. No by much but enough to make a difference. The Modus had slightly less ball speed was much kinder to my misses, probably due to the stiffer tip. The s300 wanted a slightly shorter/quicker transition. The Modus suits my timing really well as someone who is flexible, makes a full turn, and needs a fraction more time and space to squat, rotate, and drive with my legs. Modus feels really good when flushed and still pretty good when missed. S300 feels amazing when flushed and terrible when missed. Some prefer that immediate feedback, I get all the feedback I need from my body and prefer being able to thin a 4iron in 50 degree weather and not hate life :)

Curious to know if your opinions have changed over the past few months.. any new insight on the s300 vs 120?

I just recently went through iron shaft change dilemma so I think I can share my experience in details. Been playing with DG S300 on Mizuno MP60 for many years. Finally I decided to change my iron set this year and had to go through multiple sessions of fitting and analysis with different fitters. Choosing the iron head is a separate story which I won't get into details in this thread but ended up with Srixon Z785.

Choosing a shaft has been a longer process for me because every fitter's analyser came up with different top shaft choices. It is probably because my swing has changed quite a bit since I began the search for a new iron head and shaft combo. The whole journey took around 8 months - ultimate goal was to look for the lightest shaft I could use without losing control and feel. Regardless, these shafts came up in the system frequently:

Project X LZ 6.0Dynamic Gold 120 S300Dynamic Gold AMT White S300KBS $ Taper StiffNippon Modus 120SProject X LZ 6.0 - These felt dead to me. I didn't know what it was but I hated the feeling of it. Completely different feel from Project X, which I didn't mind, and I lost distance by one club as well. It did feel lighter than DG S300 but I did not get along well with shaft in terms of spin, launch height, feel etc.

Dynamic Gold 120 S300 - Didn't like it as well. Definitely lighter than DG S300 but it felt harsher. Even DG X100 felt better than these. Couldn't get it to launch either. So kicked it out of the list.

Dynamic Gold AMT White S300 - It felt no different till around 7 iron compared to regular S300. But when it got to the longer irons, I was spraying the ball all over the place. Not a bad feel but no control. So kicked it out of the list.

KBS $ Taper Stiff - I almost went with this shaft. Nice mid ball flight with great descent angle which stopped the ball. I think in terms of dispersion, $ Taper was the best out of all the shafts mentioned above. Feel was great too. No troubles controlling longer iron shots as well. Distance increased by half club length compared to S300.

Nippon Modus 120S - The fitter wanted to test me out with a slightly lighter shaft compared to $ Taper so that we could really dial in into performance. 5g lighter than $ Taper, Modus 120S was the Goldilock zone for weight, CPM, spin, height and distance. I could hit every club from 4-PW without any issues and ended up gaining one club length per club. The gain came with consistency as well. The best thing about this shaft was the feel. First couple swings, it felt as if the shaft felt softer to flex (??) if that is the right description but as soon as I got used to the shaft from 3rd shot onwards, I understood how this shaft was designed. The shaft loads perfectly to my deliberate swinging style (I am not an aggressive hitter) and felt the shaft unload at impact which is an addictive feel. Goes slightly higher than DG S300 but not something I would notice without a launch monitor.

Other shafts - Tried out other lighter shafts such as Modus 105, XP 95 etc but they were too light for me.

Modus 120's are nothing like Classic DG's.

Anyone who tells you they are has zero feel in their golf swing.

Very different launch & spin & overall feel. Also Modus 120 with may swings will feel way more harsh than DG even though they are 10-15 grams lighter.

If you are used to DG and go to Modus 120 there is going to be a major transition period.

I’ll tell ya boys and gals, I’m at a dilemma with this too. Had x100’s in my p790’s and my club guy fitted me in my new sticks with Stiff NS pro 1150 tours. I like how they feel in my T200’s but now I’m looking at the new 770/7mc’s and don’t know what shaft to go with. Tried dg120 s300’s earlier this year and didn’t enjoy them at all. Too many to choose from.

I recently had an iron fitting for the first time ever after 3 years of golf and thought I should share my experience in case there is somebody out there in the same boat as me. 

I'm a personal trainer and train for strength quite a bit so I naturally preferred a heavier club when I started playing golf. I would describe my iron swing as smooth with a smooth, easy transition (project X iron shafts feel AWFUL). My swing is longer than most and I get across the line at the top. I started with burner 2.0's with 85-S graphite shafts, then 3 months into golf I purchased p790's with 105g DGX100 shafts. My iron game instantly got better (dispersion-wise and consistency with strike) because of the heavier shaft. A year later I started to learn how to shape shots and take golf even more serious so I found some 2020 p770s with Nippon Modus 120x 1/2"-under because I figured I would eventually grow into them and I personally hated the look and feel of super thick game improvement irons. TXG Youtube video was huge on Nippon Modus so I figured what the heck. Again, my iron game almost instantly improved and the shafts felt great. I am also 5'6 so I figured I'd be good with shorter clubs. Sure enough, my long irons had never been easier to hit. 

Fast forward a couple years, I shoot anywhere from 5-10 over mainly due to my horrible decision making on the course and how often I play. I love seeing equipment videos online and saw the huge gains that could be made with a fitting. I figured I'd go to a big box store to try out different shafts in case I was leaving any accuracy or distance on the table (the fitting itself wasn't all that after watching great fitting videos on YouTube lol). My current 7 iron was in the 85-90mph swing speed range and carrying 165. Fitter said according to the swing speed, I would probably be better off with a stiff shaft so we started with with a Nippon Modus 120S. The shaft felt so much easier to hit with ~2 more yards in distance and a better smash factor/ball speed. It really was crazy how much easier it was to swing the club. I could only imagine at the end of a round.

We then tried DG120 S300 and were both surprised with the results. A flush shot went from 163-165 with NM120X, to a 173-175 with DG120 S300. The swing speed and clubhead speed went up accordingly with relatively the same dispersion. Unfortunately, I do not have the launch/spin numbers on hand and I wish I did. The best way I could describe it is the DG shaft naturally "lags" behind my body in the transition which allows the lower body to initiate the downswing easier, making the deflection of the shaft at impact much stronger. With Nippon Modus it felt like more of a uniform transition which provided less power. I would describe Nippon Modus as extremely stable for my swing type. KBS was similar to Nippon Modus for me. Project X felt awful and like I had no clue what the clubhead was doing for my swing type. 

Just to test it out, we tried 105g shafts and the speed went up but it was much harder to get center contact leading to a bigger dispersion. The heavier 130g-S shafts felt awful and the timing was horrible. It would take a lot of practice to get a feel for those shafts. I would compare it best to how my wedges feel. I currently have NM 120X shafts on the wedges and trying out stock wedges with the "wedge flex" 130g s200s feels horrible. I will most likely get a set of DG120 S300 wedge shafts as well.

The Unique Burial of a Child of Early Scythian Time at the Cemetery of Saryg-Bulun (Tuva)

In 1988, the Tuvan Archaeological Expedition (led by M. E. Kilunovskaya and V. A. Semenov) discovered a unique burial of the early Iron Age at Saryg-Bulun in Central Tuva. There are two burial mounds of the Aldy-Bel culture dated by 7th century BC. Within the barrows, which adjoined one another, forming a figure-of-eight, there were discovered 7 burials, from which a representative collection of artifacts was recovered. Burial 5 was the most unique, it was found in a coffin made of a larch trunk, with a tightly closed lid. Due to the preservative properties of larch and lack of air access, the coffin contained a well-preserved mummy of a child with an accompanying set of grave goods. The interred individual retained the skin on his face and had a leather headdress painted with red pigment and a coat, sewn from jerboa fur. The coat was belted with a leather belt with bronze ornaments and buckles. Besides that, a leather quiver with arrows with the shafts decorated with painted ornaments, fully preserved battle pick and a bow were buried in the coffin. Unexpectedly, the full-genomic analysis, showed that the individual was female. This fact opens a new aspect in the study of the social history of the Scythian society and perhaps brings us back to the myth of the Amazons, discussed by Herodotus. Of course, this discovery is unique in its preservation for the Scythian culture of Tuva and requires careful study and conservation.
