At a distance of 2 km from Jagannath Temple and 2.5 km from Puri Junction, Puri Beach is a pristine sea beach located along the coast of Bay of Bengal in Puri, Odisha. It is considered as one of the cleanest beaches in India and also one of the best Puri Tourist Places. Known for its fine white sands and crystal clear waters, Puri Beach is quite famous for its peaceful and calm surroundings. The beach has continued to be a sacred venue and is visited by an endless number of pilgrims for a purification dip who come to Puri to pay their homage to Lord Jagannath. The long white sandy beach draws large numbers of foreigners and Indians. Visitors can take a stroll, browse pearls and seashell souvenirs sold by local vendors. At a distance of 10 km from Konark, Ramachandi Temple is an ancient temple situated on the banks of Kushabhadra River near Konark in Odisha state. Situated on the Marine Drive Road from Konark to Puri, it is one of the popular places of pilgrimage in Odisha. The temple is dedicated to Goddess Ramachandi, believed to be the main deity of Konark. The temple is even older than the Sun Temple and is one of the most important Sakti Peethas of Orissa. According to legend, Kalapahad, the rebel Hindu Brahmin youth who got converted to Islam, vowed to destroy all the temples of Hindu worship during 17th century. He approached to destroy Ramachandi Temple after destroying Sun Temple. To safeguard the temple, Goddess Ramachandi dressed as a maid and asked Kalapahad to wait at the door till she brings water from the river for the Goddess. After a long wait, Kalapahad entered the temple and found the throne empty. He thought that the maid took away the deity, so he followed her in anger. .....

2 Konark Sun Temple

At a distance of 1.5 km from Konark Bus Station, Konark Sun Temple is an ancient Hindu temple situated in the heart of Konark town in Orissa state. Renowned all over the world for its architecture, Konark Sun Temple is among the prime places to visit in Konark and is often used in promoting Konark Tourism. Dedicated to Sun God, Konark Sun Temple was built by King Narasimhadeva I of Eastern Ganga dynasty in the 13th century CE to commemorate his victory over Muslims invaders. European sailors used this temple tower for navigation, but dubbed it the Black Pagoda for the frequent shipwrecks that occurred along the coast. This temple is one of the grandest temples of India and has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1984. Konark was sacked by the Muslim Yavana army in the 15th century. The central statue enshrined in the temple was smuggled away to Puri by priests, but the Sun Temple was badly damaged in the attack. At a distance of 1.5 km from Konark Bus Station, Konark Museum is one of the ancient museums located in the historical town of Konark in Odisha. Situated near the Sun Temple, it is maintained by Archaeological Survey of India and is one of the prominent places to visit in Konark. The Konark Museum was started in the year 1968 with the purpose of housing the archeological excavations and the fallen sculptures from the Sun Temple. The museum has four galleries displaying 260 various antiquities. The antiquities include various sculptures, paintings, manuscripts and various fallen of parts from the Konark Sun Temple. It is a treasure house for historians and art lovers. The first gallery of the museum holds 62 antiquities, out of which the image of Surya in sand stone, the Khandolite built reconstructed wheel, various incarnations of Lord Vishnu, etc. are the major attractions. The Konark Sea Beach is named after Chandrabhaga River which joins sea here. I stayed two nights and went on one boat and three land safaris in Nagarhole. This is the perfect amount if you want to maximize your chances to see i.e. tigers and get to drive in different areas of the park. I was also able upon asking to change from a canter to a jeep safari and do a stop at Mysore to see the palace on the way back to Bangalore (paid extra) which was no problem. It is hard to describe and to understand how these caves were built, dated from the 2nd century BC, you just have to go and see for yourself! Booked an 11 day tour (Hubbali, Hampi, Badami, Aihole, SolaPur aurangabad) I contacted Sashi at Agora and he basically took care of everything. I presented him with my dates and a rough plan of what I wanted to do, Sashi then put together an itinerary. The cost was really reasonable for 2 people. And during the booking stage I had to make several changes due to some changes in dates, Sashi accommodated and amended everything accordingly with no issues. Payment was done via a bank transfer which was simple. On the first day, our driver Raju bhai came to pick us up and was with us throughout the trip. He was absolutely exceptional. A calm, reliable and completely trust worthy driver who went above an beyond many times. There was always water in the car and he was incredibly knowledgeable, making some of the long drives really interesting. All the guides we had were really knowledgeable, explained everything really well. More so they were local guides who spoke good English and had a lot of insight into a lot of the archaeological sites we visited. All the hotels we stayed in were beautiful, clean and safe. We extended it to 12 days by adding a few days off to allow us to acclimate and process our experiences. This worked out well, although we got tired on our last few days. They organized everything for us and that really, really well! We were picked up and brought to all important sights. They had good recommendations for clean restaurants and interesting stories on history as well as religion. We booked our hotels separately. We had a bad experience at our hotel in Bodhgaya. Our guide Chandan, which was sent from Agora Voyages, helped as getting the hotel refunded and getting us to the new hotel. We are grateful for that. Also our contact at Agora Voyages, Shashi was always ready to answer questions via WhatsApp. Our drivers were really good. Bhubaneswar, Puri & Konark – 4 Days Itinerary

My mom is usually sceptical about driving on foreign lands. She prefers a chauffeur-driven vehicle to a self-driven one. However, this time, while planning my trip, when I asked her, she agreed on taking a Zoomcar. Surprising right! We were at Bhubaneswar to attend my friend’s wedding, another one indeed! Therefore, we decided to extend our visit for four more days to explore nearby cities.

Reaching Bhubaneswar

There are plenty of flights from Delhi to Bhubaneswar, which you can book as per your schedule. Those who stay in the eastern belt can also reach here via train or car.

Here’s how we managed to cover four cities in 4 days:

Day 1: bhubaneswar.

We started our day with an authentic Odia breakfast at my friend’s house. Post, which we headed to collect our Zoomcar, parked at the Yamaha Showroom in Kharabela Nagar. After spending half an hour completing all the formalities, we began our journey. We went to Dhauli, the famous Lingaraj Temple and Odisha State Museum. We ended our day gorging on street food at Unit I & II market. I would recommend having another day for the city to explore Nandankanan Zoological Park and Udayagiri-Khandagiri caves.

Day 2: Puri

Puri is a 1.5-hour drive from Bhubaneswar. We started at 9 a.m from Bhubaneswar, and it was a delight to drive on the Bhubaneswar-Puri Highway. As we reached closer to our hotel, the drive became scenic, with the Bay of Bengal to our left and the bustling city to our right. After check-in, we visited Swargadwar beach right opposite our hotel. We had maggie for lunch from a nearby shaft and headed for sightseeing. We visited the Jagannath Temple and explored the market next to the temple. Next, we went to Puri Beach, explored the beach market and ended our day watching a beautiful sunset at the Golden beach. We stopped by the Ethnic Village Restaurant at Mahodadhi Palace to try out the authentic Odia cuisine for dinner.

Tip: The State Handloom Emporium at Jagannath Temple parking is the best place to buy souvenirs.

Day 3: Chilika Lake , Satpada

Chilika Lake, the world’s second-largest brackish water lagoon, is merely 1.5 hours from Puri. There are many sightseeing spots at Chilika Lake. However, Satpada is closest to Puri and is the only place where you can spot Irrawaddy Dolphins. We started our journey at 8:30 a.m and reached the Chilika Lake jetty ticket counter at 10:00 a.m. They had various packages available from which we chose the 4-hour boat ride that covered the Dolphin sighting point and Sea mouth. Our first stop was the dolphin point, where we had three sightings. From there, it took 1.5 hours to reach the sea mouth. On our way, we saw many birds like seagulls, herons and stork. We spent half an hour exploring the Sea mouth and admiring its beauty. I had some fresh prawns before heading back to the jetty. On our way back, we saw ten sightings, which was a thrilling experience indeed!

We reached Puri at 4 p.m. Post which we explored the Lighthouse next to our hotel. It gave us a mesmerising 360-degree view of the beach city. In the evening, we explored the street food stalls at the beach market. For dinner, we headed to Sholo Ana Bengali to gorge on authentic Bengali food.

Tip: On your way to the Lake, locals selling boat rides at a cheaper cost might chase you. However, ignore them, as their boats don’t follow any safety measures. I recommend booking your boats from Government assigned stalls only.

Day 4: Konark

It was our last day in Odisha. We checked out at 9:30 a.m from our Hotel in Puri and headed to Konark. It was an hour-long drive through the Balukhand Wildlife Sanctuary. On our way, we stopped by the NuaNai Nature camp to see the Olive Ridley Sea Turtles. However, we couldn’t locate the breeding zone, as there was no one to guide us. We then headed to Ramachandi beach, which was our first spot for sightseeing in Konark. From where we went to Chandrabagha beach and Konark beach. We spent some time by the beach, sipping coconut water before heading to the Sun Temple, our last sight for the day. It is the most famous attraction and a UNESCO World Heritage site that attracts millions of tourists every year. We spent 1.5 hours admiring the brilliant architecture of the temple before heading back to Bhubaneswar.

On reaching Bhubaneswar, we dropped our Zoomcar at the same pick-up point. After which we booked our cab to the airport. We were hungry by the time we reached the airport, as we didn’t have lunch. The Bhubaneswar airport is tiny as compared to the Delhi Airport and had limited food outlets with limited options that were expensive. The counter on the first floor serves south Indian delights had a long queue. Therefore, we bought coffee and chicken roll from the outlet on the ground floor to curb our hunger.

Four days went by so quickly, and not even once we felt tired, bored or unsafe. The roads are beautiful to drive, people are jolly and helpful, and the weather is so pleasing that we felt like staying here forever.

P.S: The best time to visit Odisha is between November to March.

Today we visit Lingaraj Tepmle – a Hindu temple dedicated to Shiva and is one of the oldest temples in Bhubaneswar, Dhauli Shanti Stupa and Udaygiri & Khandagiri Caves – nestled between the foothills of two mountains ranges of the Eastern Ghats, the biggest and most picturesque site of the triad. Later we visit Nandankanan Zoo.

Bhubaneswar – Puri (3 Nights)

Today we proceed to Puri. Enroute we visit Pipli – a town of artisans where locals produce applique art and colourful fabrics. Later we stroll on the sun-kissed beach of Puri and view the breath taking sunset.

Today we enjoy an excursion to Chilika Lake – one of the most important wetlands in the world because it is home to a phenomenal variety of birds. We visit Sea Mouth – the Island where Chilka lake meets the Bay of Bengal. In the evening, we enjoy Odia Folk Dance Show.

Today we visit Jagannath Temple – one of the major pilgrimage centres in India followed by a visit to Chandrabhaga Beach. Later we visit Konark Sun temple – an architectural marvel which is an UNESCO World Heritage Site and Arka Khetra Sun Temple Interpretation centre. In the evening we witness the sound and light show (Subject to Operation) at Konark Sun Temple.

• Standard Hotel check-in time is usually between 8 AM - 12 PM & check-out time is between 7 AM to 8 AM. Early check-in is subject to availability & hotel may charge extra (not included in the tour price). In case of late check-in, please inform the hotel about your arrival time.
• In case you arrive before check-in time & free rooms are unavailable, you can fresh-up in hotel washroom and proceed with sightseeing until your check-in time.
• Customers should be ready for sightseeing at Start Time mentioned in the itinerary in order to cover all the places in itinerary. Sightseeing can't extend beyond 7 PM and any places missed can't be covered on following day.
• Sightseeing is limited to the places mentioned in the itinerary. If time permits, you may visit additional places (not mentioned in itinerary) by paying for extra kilo-meters to the cab driver.
• In case of natural disasters or cab strike, mypuritour.com may suggest alternate destination or alternate dates. If no alternate tour / dates can be arranged by mypuritour.com, your tour may be cancelled and 100% of your booking amount will be refunded.
• In extreme cases, your tour may be cancelled by mypuritour.com for unavoidable reasons (within 24 hours of booking) and 100% of your booking amount will be refunded.
• In rare cases, the primary hotel mentioned in the tour page may be unavailable. You will be offered alternate accommodation in the same or higher category. If you are not satisfied with alternate hotel, you may choose to cancel the tour (100% of booking amount will be refunded).
• Hotel rooms are provided on twin sharing basis. In case of 3 adults or child above 5 years, 3-sharing room or Room with extra bed/mattress will be provided
• Wherever room category is not mentioned in the quote / website, Standard room will be provided
• Hotel may deny check-in for unmarried couple and no refund will be issued in such cases
• Please check weekly off days for sightseeing places. Also, few places may be closed due to heavy rains / maintenance without prior intimation & we have no control on such incidents. Wherever possible, alternate sightseeing may be arranged in such cases.
• Entry Fees & Activity Fees may change without any intimation and we have no control on the same. All fees mentioned in our website are for Indian nationals.
• Any special requests like English/Hindi speaking driver is based on availability and can't be guaranteed
• Refund for cancelled tours usually takes around 7-10 business days
• Additional charges may apply for Airport Pick-up/Drop (select Airport Pickup/Drop option from 'Customize' popup on Tour Page)
• Any issues encountered during the trip need to be resolved with Tour Manager immediately during the trip. Issues can't be addressed after completion of the trip.
• Mypuritour.com liability is limited to providing cab & stay. Sightseeing is complementary and it carries no liability. While we try our best to cover all places in the itinerary, no refund will be issued for sightseeing missed during the trip.
• Vehicles Provided (all vehicles are A/C only) : Hatchback - Swift, Ritz, similar; Sedan - Dzire, Etios, Fiesta, Xcent, Amaze, similar; SUV - Innova, Xylo, or similar
• Hotel Voucher will take at least 2 working days from the date of booking
• All Hotels are booked in the name of Primary Traveler mentioned at the time of booking. Any change in guest name is considered as tour canceled and rebooked - cancellation charges apply & hotels based on availability. Valid ID & Address proof need to be carried for all guests including children.
• If hotel does not provide complimentary breakfast, INR 100 for 2-star, INR 150 for 3-star & INR 250 for 4-star will be provided as Breakfast expenses per person (above 5 years). If you miss complimentary breakfast in the hotel due to early morning sightseeing (before 8 AM), you need to have breakfast outside at own expense.
• Cab & Driver details will be provided 10 hours before the Trip Start Time
• In case of vehicle breakdown and issue is not resolved in 2 hours (from the time the issue is reported), we will provide alternate vehicle (or) free accommodation in nearby town until the issue is resolved.
• Usually Hotels don't charge for below 3 years kids, no need to select kids below 3 years while boooking tour. In case of any charges by hotels for below 3y kids, amount needs to be paid directly at the hotel.
• Refund is issued only in case hotel denies check-in and customer had to book own stay or vehicle could not be provided and customer arranges own transport.
• If tour is booked with partial advance payment, additional terms can be found here
• For cab only bookings, additional terms can be found here
• In case of any delay in arrival / start time, driver & mypuritour.com team should be communicated before trip start time. In case of no communication / response from customer at the time of pickup, cab driver will wait for maximum 2 hours at given pickup location. Past 2 hours, trip will be considered as cancelled & no refund is possible.
• All payments for International tours to be made in USD unless mentioned in other currency

Cancellation Policy:

• 31 days & beyond from date of travel (excluding travel date) - 25% of Order Total is charged as cancellation fee
• Between 8-15 days from date of travel (excluding travel date) - 50% of Order Total is charged as cancellation fee
• Between 3-7 days from date of travel (excluding travel date) - 75% of Order Total is charged as cancellation fee
• No Refund if cancelled within 2 days from date of travel, excluding travel date (sorry, we already paid for your Hotel & Cab by this time)

In case of national lockdown / epidemic like Coronavirus, free reschedule can be arranged, if confirmed at least one week before travel date. For tour cancellation, above cancellation policy will apply.
