No Man's Sky just won't stop. Update 4.5: Omega introduces yet another expedition that has Travellers journey to the stars on yet another adventure. Prepare to unlock the mysteries of the universe as you hop from planet to planet building bases and recalling memories that aren't your own.

No Man's Sky: The Best Mods

With Omega, expeditions have been reworked to allow players to bring technology, materials, and even ships and multi-tools from their main saves with them on their journeys. And as with all expeditions, you'll unlock exclusive rewards, including the Starborn Runner--a ship inspired by the classic racing game Wipeout.

Before we head out on the Omega Expedition, here are the five phases Traveller's will have to complete.

No Man's Sky: Everything To Know About The Atlas Path

Unlike previous expeditions, Expedition 12 allows Travelers to bring some things with them from other non-expedition save files. Simply load up your main No Man's Sky save and then travel to the Anomaly. There's a new terminal there where you can launch the expedition using your main save, but also bring up to eight pieces of technology and 24 cargo items .

You can definitely complete Expedition 12 without bringing anything with you . This is merely to speed things along for some of the more labor-intensive objectives.

There is a catch; items can only be retrieved from the expedition terminal on the Anomaly . You'll start the expedition with a few basic items, and you'll need to scrounge up enough materials to repair your ship and progress several milestones before you can reach the Anomaly.

Technologies and upgrades can be repackaged in your inventory by selecting the item, repackaging it, and then placing the item into the expedition terminal.

Here's a list of suggested starting equipment and technologies.

No Man's Sky: How To Play Co-Op

You'll start on the idyllic world of Nafut Gamma. There are lots of trees, plants, minerals, and fauna to analyze here, and plenty of resources to get you off the ground. Take a few moments to familiarize yourself with your surroundings and gather some critical resources like Oxygen , Carbon , Ferrite , Sodium , and Di-hydrogen .

You can't retrieve your stored items until you reach the Anomaly , so you'll have to do some grunt work first. Sorry.

Milestone 1: Escape Velocity

Your first task is to locate your crashed ship and repair it. To do this, find the icon on your HUD and walk there (it won't be too far away), then climb aboard to inspect the damage. To repair your ship, you'll need: 35 Oxygen , 40 Copper , 45 Condensed Carbon , 50 Pure Ferrite , 1 Di-hydrogen Jelly , 1 Metal Plating , and 80 Magnetised Ferrite .

You start with a Portable Refiner , which can help make Condensed Carbon, Pure Ferrite, and Magnetised Ferrite . The rest can be found or constructed using materials around your ship.

Once your ship is repaired, take off and head to a new planet . There are a few planets to choose from, but the only one that doesn't have a heavy Sentinel presence is Tonda 93/P4. Head there.

Milestone 2: Homecoming

Your next task is to make your first base . You'll be given Base Computer Plans as a reward for the previous milestone, and after crafting the Base Computer , interact with it to be given several items to establish your base, including a Round Foundation , two Cylindrical Rooms , two Solar Panels , two Batteries , a Health Station , a Hazard Protection Unit , and two Storage Containers .

Construct a base with all these items and then upload your base via the Base Computer to complete the milestone.

You must use all the items provided to complete the milestone . Other base components you create yourself will not count towards this milestone.

Milestone 3: Exobotony

This milestone just requires you to scan six flora . There are plenty of plants on Tonda 93/P4; just scan six of them to complete this milestone.

Milestone 4: Interstellar

Completing this milestone will require you to construct a Hyperdrive and a Warp Cell . You'll need 125 Chromatic Metal for the Hyperdrive (which can be crafted by refining Copper and Silver) and five Microprocessors .

Unfortunately, you cannot build the Microprocessors yourself as you don't have plans for them. Instead, you must travel to the local Space Station and purchase them from the Galactic Terminal. This will cost 137,500 Credits .

You could do a bunch of missions to earn those credits, but there's a much faster way. Your starter starship is equipped with weapons you can use to strafe the local wildlife while performing low-speed passes over the planet's surface .

After just a few minutes, you'll have gathered enough meat to sell at the station to purchase those five Microprocessors.

Constructing the Warp Cell is just a matter of crafting an Antimatter Housing (which requires 30 Oxygen and 50 Ferrite) and Antimatter (which requires 25 Chromatic Metal and 20 Condensed Carbon).

Milestone 5: Anomaly's Heart

This milestone simply requires you to go into space. Priest Entity Nada will contact you via your ship's comm system and provide you with access to the Anomaly. Simply summon the Anomaly and talk to Priest Entity Nada to complete the milestone.

Milestone 6: Scavenger

You'll need to fully repair the starting Multi-Tool to complete this milestone. This will require 60 Silver , 50 Di-hydrogen , 25 Sodium Nitrate . Use the Portable Refiner to make the Sodium Nitrate required, then fix your Multi-Tool to complete the milestone.

Milestone 7: Rendezvous 1

You'll need to complete two more jumps to reach the planet Hunslowe to complete this milestone. You'll likely need to construct or purchase more Warp Cells to complete this journey in your starter ship, but once you do, it's just a matter of heading to the Galactic Map to jump to the rendezvous point.

Be sure to stop off at each system's Space Station to purchase Inventory Slot upgrades . They'll come in handy later.

Milestone 8: Research Project 1 (Optional)

This milestone is optional, but it's highly recommended to complete as you'll get three Inventory Slot upgrades and 900 Quicksilver. All you need to two is scan three things on the new planet, be they flora, fauna, or minerals. Just scan three things and you'll get all these goodies.

No Man's Sky: Guide To Frigates And Expeditions

Phase 2 expands the expedition to include the Atlas , the mysterious all-powerful computer that controls much of what happens in No Man's Sky. You'll also experience your first memory, decorate your base from the earlier phase, dive through a black hole, and then proceed to the next rendezvous point.

Milestone 1: Atlas Rises

This milestone simply tasks you with going to an Atlas station . You'll be given the coordinates and all you need to do is jump there in your ship.

The nearest Atlas station should be in the Yelobarn system just a few jumps away. You may need to make more Warp Cores to get there, but once you arrive, just head into the Atlas station and speak to the big red ball .

Afterward, Atlas will teleport you and your ship to a new system and the milestone will be complete.

Milestone 2: Reality Grains

Next, you'll need to craft the Memory of Ocean. You'll be given the plans, and all you need to do is source 99 Silicate Powder , 66 Tritium , and 33 Salt .

The Salt can be hard to come by naturally. Try buying it or Chlorine from the Galactic Trade Terminal . Chlorine can be refined into Salt using the Portable Refiner. Otherwise, you can build a Medium Refiner and combine Di-hydrogen and Oxygen into Salt.

Once crafted, head into space and activate the Memory of Ocean . Then pulse around the system until you're interrupted by a Child of Helios. The milestone will be completed following your conversation.

Milestone 3: Stardust

This is an easy milestone. Just head into an asteroid field and start blowing up asteroids with your ship's weapons. There should be asteroid fields in every system , and you may have already completed this task during Phase 1.

Milestone 4: Expansion

This milestone requires you to return to your base (which you can easily do by using the teleporter at any system's Space Station) and add a few decorations . Namely, three Angled Windows, three Glass-Roof Corridors, a Bio-Dome, three Wall Screens, one Octa-Cabinet, a Desk Chair, a Hexagonal Table, and a Ceiling Light.

You'll need some Glass to make the Bio-Dome and corridors. The easiest way to make Glass is to refine Silicate Powder in the Portable Refiner .

The only recipe you won't have is for the Ceiling Light . You'll need to return to the Anomaly to learn the recipe by trading in Salvage Data . The required console will be marked on your HUD. Once learned, return to your base, place the Ceiling Light wherever you like, and the milestone will be complete.

Milestone 5: To Infinity

This is also an easy milestone; all you gotta do is fly through a Black Hole . Systems containing a Black Hole will be marked on your Galaxy Map . Simply jump into the system and look for the Black Hole. It might be hard to spot as some Black Holes can be pretty small.

Be sure to jot down which system you're leaving so you can easily return to the general area of the expedition, otherwise you'll have to spend a lot of Warp Cells to get back on track. Alternatively, you can just teleport back to your base, but then you'll have to start over.

After warping to a random system, you'll be attacked by pirates . Defeat the pirates and you'll have completed the milestone.

You can also claim the freighter you saved , but it's not necessary to complete the expedition.

Milestone 6: Memento

Another easy milestone. Just build a Wonder Projector and place it in your base to complete this milestone. The Wonder Projector requires 40 Chromatic Metal, 25 Magnetised Ferrite, and one Antimatter.

Milestone 7: Rendezvous 2

You'll likely need to jump a few times to reach the next rendezvous planet. Stock up on Warp Cells and stop off at each Space Station to expand your inventory slots by visiting the Exosuit vendor. Rendezvous Point 2 is on the planet Spinarr Kesen in the Jiyose-Aishe XIV system right next to a Portal .

Milestone 8: Research Project 2

As in the previous phase, just scan three things to complete this objective. It's easy and will give you 900 Quicksilver , three Inventory Slots , and a Companion Egg .

No Man's Sky: How To Find Crashed Ships

Phase 3 has a few tricks up its sleeve for new Travelers, but veterans who brought a few key ingredients into the expedition won't have too much trouble. If you didn't bring the recommended cargo, don't worry, you'll still be able to progress with the expedition, it'll just take a little longer.

Milestone 1: One Man's Treasure

This milestone tasks you with digging up three buried chests . The chests can be found using your visor , which will direct you to the general area and then identify the buried chest once you get close enough. They'll all be on the second rendezvous planet, so you won't have to travel far to find them.

Milestone 2: Grand Tour

This milestone requires you to take a photo on an Airless , Scorched , and Frozen world . You'll need to scan planets while in orbit until you find one that matches each of these biomes. You can also check your Discovery tab to see if you've visited any systems with these types of planets so far.

In the system where the expedition starts, planet Tonda 93/P4 is a Frozen world . Xetebor VII is a Scorched world in the same system as the second rendezvous point. And planet Udleyo in the Kumotsog XIX system is a nearby Lifeless planet .

Milestone 3: Life in All Its Forms

You'll need to discover 12 creatures to finish this milestone. If you've been scanning creatures on previous planets, you'll probably have completed this milestone already. If not, the rendezvous planets all have a number of creatures to scan.

Milestone 4: Hot Pursuit

Prepare for a little light smuggling. After completing the previous milestone, you'll notice a Ticket to Freedom item in your Exosuit's inventory. Activate it to receive the coordinates to a Pirate System where you can purchase contraband to smuggle into law-abiding systems.

Jump to the Pirate System and land at the local station, then head to the contraband vendor near the Exosuit Expansion tube. Purchase at least 120,000 units worth of black market goods , then return to your ship. Head to any non-Pirate System and sell the goods at any Galactic Terminal to complete the milestone.

You'll need to be fast to avoid getting detected by the cops. Once you arrive in the non-Pirate System, quickly pulse your way to the local station and don't stop for anything .

Milestone 5: Assembly Required

So long as you brought some Acid and Unstable Gel from your main save, this milestone is a cinch . If not, you'll need to do a bit of work.

First, you'll need to travel to the Anomaly to unlock the Liquid Explosive recipe . This requires 1,000 Nanites to unlock each recipe leading to Liquid Explosive, which you should have after completing the previous phases.

If you have Acid and Unstable Gel , all you need to do is craft the Liquid Explosive , and you're done. If you don't, you'll need to craft these components.

Unstable Gel is made from Cactus Flesh , which can be found on desert planets. Acid requires Mordite (which can be harvested from local wildlife by killing them) and Fungal Mould , which is found on toxic planets.

Milestone 6: Unbounded

The Memory of Conquest requires 99 Chromatic Metal , 66 Magnetised Ferrite , and 33 Sodium Nitrate . As with the Memory of Ocean, you'll need to activate the Memory of Conquest in space. Then pulse around until you're interrupted by a wonder which will provide you with yet more memories of the Atlas.

Milestone 7: Rendezvous 3

Depending on whether you had to travel for the Liquid Explosive, you might not need to go far to reach the third rendezvous. Your destination is the Okubun-Chadr system and the planet Haku 57/Q1 . The rendezvous point will be at a nearby freighter wreck .

Milestone 8: Research Project 3

As before, just scan a few nearby plants, animals, or rocks to complete this optional milestone and get a bunch of goodies, including 900 Quicksilver , three Inventory Slots , and an egg from a previous expedition.

No Man's Sky: Squadron Guide

Phase 4 has the most variation of the Omega Expedition milestones. You'll start digging up artifacts from buried ruins, and end up making delectable confections before finally making your way to the fourth rendezvous point.

Milestone 1: Relic Hunter

For this task, you'll need to dig up an ancient relic . First, head to the local Space Station and go see the Cartographer (their location will be marked on your HUD). Purchase an Artifact Chart using Navigation Data provided as a reward from a prior milestone, and then get the coordinates to some ruins by accessing the chart in your inventory.

The ruins will be marked on a different planet somewhere in the system. Head to the location marked on your HUD , then use your visor to locate the artifact's location underground.

You'll need three keys to open the crate containing the artifact. The keys will be in separate crates nearby , but they'll also be underground. Use your visor to locate the keys , then once you have all three, open the artifact crate to complete the milestone.

Milestone 2: Fallen Giants

To complete this milestone, you'll need to find a sunken wreck using the Nautilon Exocraft. This means finding a world with oceans--luckily, Haku 57/Q1 ( the same planet as Rendezvous 3 ) has plenty of oceans for you to explore, and you'll have already been rewarded with a Nautilon from the previous milestone.

Find the nearest beach and construct the Nautilon underwater . Then, build the Nautilon's High-Power Sonar . You'll need a Solar Mirror, 50 Ferrite Dust, and three Crystal Sulphide.

Crystal Sulphide can be obtained from the geothermic vents found underwater, which can be located using your visor.

After making the High-Power Sonar, activate it to find a Sunken Wreck . The wreck's location will appear on your HUD. It can appear quite a distance away, and it may be faster to take your ship to the wreck's location . Once you arrive, swim to the Ship's Log to complete the milestone.

Don't worry about leaving the Nautilon behind --it's not required to complete the milestone after you have the location of the wreck. You can just fly there and swim the rest of the way underwater.

Milestone 3: Radiant Flight

This milestone will require you to find a Dissonant Planet to recover a crashed Sentinel Interceptor . First, use the Carrier AI Fragment in your inventory to mark the Interceptor's location. It will likely be in a neighboring system , so prepare to use your Hyperdrive to jump there.

Once you arrive, the crash site will be marked on your HUD . Simply fly there and claim the Interceptor to complete the milestone.

You don't need to actually fly away in the Interceptor to complete the milestone. You can claim it and then immediately go back to your original ship if you prefer.

Milestone 4: Boundary Failure

This milestone requires you to destroy 25 Sentinels . You can do this relatively easily by heading to a world with Aggressive Sentinels (as seen from orbit) and picking a fight. Or you can pick a fight with non-aggressive Sentinels merely by picking up a Gravitino Ball (which can be found all over Aratae XIV or other worlds). Sentinels are also often found guarding abandoned settlements.

However you find them, simply destroying one Sentinel will cause waves of them to attack you. You'll want to upgrade your Multitool and maybe purchase a few Exosuit Shield upgrades at a Space Station before taking this fight .

Sentinel ships don't count toward this milestone . The Sentinels destroyed must be on the ground on a planet's surface.

Milestone 5: Palate Cleanser

After all that fighting, it's time for a palate cleanser by making some delicious baked goods. You'll first need to find Heptaloid Wheat and Sweet Roots to make flour and sugar using the Nutrient Processor. You should also pick up any other nearby foodstuffs, like Impulse Beans or Hexaberry.

You can find both of these on the planet Haku 57/Q1 using your visor

After you've gathered the ingredients, construct the Nutrient Processor (using 25 Sodium Nitrate, one Hermetic Seal, and one Metal Plate) and use it to refine the raw ingredients into flour and sugar . Then, refine those together to create Sour Dough , and then refine the Sour Dough with Impulse Beans or Hexaberry to make a baked good and complete the milestone.

Milestone 6: Deep Glass

The next task is to view the Memory of Bones, the plans for which are already in your inventory. You'll need 99 Cadmium , 66 Di-hydrogen , and 33 Ionized Cobalt . If you didn't bring these items with you, you'll need to source them from nearby planets.

Cadmium can be found on planets around red stars , while Cobalt is typically found in caves and caverns . Ionized Cobalt is made from refining regular Cobalt.

Once constructed, head to space , activate the Memory of Bones , and then use your Pulse Engine until you're interrupted by a massive intergalactic fossil. Listen to the memory to complete the milestone.

Milestone 7: Rendezvous 4

The fourth rendezvous point is in the Dovour-Jaus system on the planet New Wadhabie . The system will be marked on the Galaxy Map and the planet will be marked on your HUD when you arrive in system. The rendezvous point will be at a portal . Use your visor to find it.

Milestone 8: Research Project 4

As with the previous Research Projects, just scan three items to complete this optional milestone and get 900 Quick Silver, three Inventory Slots, and a companion egg.

No Man's Sky How To Get Your First S-Class Ship

You're almost done ! Just a few more quick milestones and you'll be finished the expedition.

Milestone 1: The Fallen

The first milestone starts on a somber note. Head to the Anomaly and talk to Polo to get the coordinates of a lost Traveller. The coordinates will be a location on the planet Gamisoni (which will be marked on your HUD).

Head inside the building to talk to the lost Traveller . They'll give you the coordinates to an Anomalous Subspace Signal, which is at a nearby location. Hop in your ship and fly to the Traveller's grave located beneath a shrine. Talk to the Unknown Grave to complete the milestone.

Milestone 2: Astrolinguistics

This one's easy. Just head to the nearest Space Station and talk to all the aliens hovering around the Galactic Terminal. Each of them can teach you one word from their language if you ask them nicely. If there aren't 16 aliens at one station, just head to another system and repeat.

There are also Knowledge Stones on every planet that will teach you a single word , but the space station method is easily the fastest way to complete this milestone as the aliens will all be clustered together instead of spread apart over an entire planet.

Milestone 3: Blue Expanse

Another simple milestone, this one requires you to travel to a blue star system. You'll need an Indium Drive to travel to these systems, which can be constructed using 250 Emeril and five Wiring Looms . You'll have already received the Emeril and blueprints as a reward, so all you'll need to do is purchase five Wiring Looms from any Galactic Trade Terminal.

Construct the Indium Drive in your ship, then head to space and bring up the Galaxy Map. Jump to any system with a blue star to complete the milestone.

You can complete this milestone simply by traveling to the Rendezvous 5 system of Amling .

Milestone 4: Xenophile

This one is a little more difficult. You'll need to travel to an exotic planet to scan an exotic creature . There are a number of different exotic biomes, from shards to glitches to bubbles and beams, but the one we're going to suggest is a Plated Planet previously discovered by a player named HeRo2u.

You'll want to look for the HeRo2u Here system near the fifth rendezvous system of Amling . Once you find it, head to the planet HeRo2u Here and look for a strange creature called T. Giloagmenica with your visor. Scan it to complete the milestone.

Milestone 5: Creation

The last memory to view in the expedition is the Memory of Void. Craft it using 99 Pugneum , 66 Condensed Carbon , and 33 Gold . You should already have the Pugneum from the Sentinels you killed earlier, but if not, you can potentially purchase more from the Galactic Trade Terminal.

Craft the Memory of the Void and then head into space to activate it. Pulse around until you're met by an Asteroid Larvae. The milestone will be completed after your conversation with it.

Milestone 6: Eclipse

This milestone is almost an exact repeat of the Atlas Rises milestone from the beginning of the second phase. All you need to do is head to the nearest Atlas station and talk to the Atlas.

Go to your Galaxy Map and jump to the nearest system with the Atlas icon . Land in the Atlas Station, speak to the Atlas , and the milestone will be complete.

Milestone 7: Rendezvous 5

Almost done! The final rendezvous point is on the planet Boeot Prime in the Amling system . Jump there, then head to the point marked on your HUD. The exact rendezvous point will be at a Glyph Portal . Once you arrive, you'll have completed the Omega Expedition.

Milestone 8: Research Project 5

The final optional objective is just as easy to complete as the earlier ones. Simply scan three things on the planet to complete it and earn 900 Quicksilver , three Inventory Slots , and a Biological Horror Cosmic Egg .

The Research Project milestones actually require community participation to complete . Once enough Travellers have reached the final rendezvous point and scanned the local flora and fauna, the milestone will be complete, and you can click the banner to receive your rewards.

No Man's Sky: Everything You Need To Know About Freighters

Besides the Starborn Runner ship you receive for completing the Omega Expedition, there are a number of other rewards you can receive from completing each phase . These rewards can be collected from the Expedition kiosk at the Anomaly.

  • A few milestones just require that you scan a few flora and fauna to complete. Be sure to scan some plants and animals at each rendezvous planet to complete these milestones quickly.
  • Talk to random Station NPCs to learn various words in their language. It'll both make it easier to understand people and complete a later milestone.
  • The Phase 2 milestone of Stardust can be easily completed in Phase 1 as there are quite a few asteroid belts in the starter system.
  • Be sure to note the previous system's Space Station before heading into the black hole for the To Infinity milestone so you can easily return to the expedition track. Or you can just return to your base.
  • Scan all the fauna on a few planets for extra Nanites. It's fairly easy to scan all the animals on several of the rendezvous planets.

Just a note for those systems with two travelers in the space station, so one, then come back and do the other. If you talk to both before heading out only one marker shows. If you’re lucky there’s a “Glyph Support Base” near by. Rather than risk it, talk to one traveler, go get his glyph and then come back to the station and talk to the second one, this just insured tool get the glyphs. :)

' src=

Learned it the hard way now im stuck looking for it

' src=

The last one is trapped now don’t go to it you’ll be stuck

' src=

Just a word of warning, the last glyph portal is completely enclosed locking the player from getting out when you portal there.

' src=

The last Portal is surrounded by construction. Someone intentionally block all exits.

' src=

#3 and #4 only had one traveler for me – not sure if it was just me or not

' src=

def right on….

Right now the 10th glyph portal exit is covered by a huge building with a roof, and cant get starship to land inside….also can’t report base to kill it…3 bases involved…tried to report all 3 didn’t work.

Anyone know anything about this???

' src=

the last one is closed

' src=

#3, #4, #9 only had 1 travelers for me, could be a bug?

' src=

I got my 15th one but now none of the travlers are showing up. I just need the last glyph….. so close yet so far away. Any idea how to fix this? I’m going to try and do the Artemis quest line further and see if that works. If anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated!!!

' src=

#3 Doesn’t have two Travelers. Only one.

Same with #4

Also #10 just has one too.

' src=

Great guide! Can’t imagine how much effort it took. Kudos to all the interlopers leaving helpful bases and messages. There was one asshat that made an inescapable base around one of the destinations (I believe #6), reporting it from the base computer made it disappear so I could access the planet.

' src=

Number 6 now has a huge base built around it with no way to get out

' src=

someone built a building around portal 6 with no doors, if you’re lucky your ship will be clipped through the edge and let you out

' src=

#3 – Travelers 4 & 5 I only saw one traveler, just a note for anyone else!

' src=

I went to the 3rd system where it says there’s 2 travellers but there seems to only be the one in the station

Actually the same thing happened in system 4 as well

' src=

I after talking to traveler for glyphs 7 I cannot find the icon to follow. Does this glitch out and just not show up or is it because the system is so populated that I cannot find the icon for all the visible noise?

Expedition 12 - Omega (Spoilers)

I remember when Origins was revealed, a lot of people were lamenting not getting the cool neck scarf cape on the right most traveller.

Eventually we got something like these with the Autophage cosmetics.

Now it looks like we get to meet the very traveller themselves if what the expedition has implied is correct.

No Man's Sky 16_02_2024 17_27_45

Still not done or proceeded past meeting them.

Am I to believe this is Leto and they are both the traveller in the Origins box art and the one from some of the Abandoned Building lore?

I might be blurring my lore but aren’t they also connected to Laylaps in some way? Laylaps was the first sentinel they cut in to?

Also there’s the other thing The Voice said, about Leto being one of their children, or alluding to it.

Did Void Mother have the ability to birth a Traveller in to the sim? Or did they mean it in the figurative/fostering sense? Like “I thought Leto to be who they became.”

I cant remember what was said exactly in the memory but it ended with a threat to the Atlas (about returning, glimmering, in multitude). The Voice was already in the world of glass in this memory but they felt the Atlas had done something to or hid “Leto-Child” from them and it made them clearly upset. Enough to swear they will return.

The traveller who pointed me to this grave looked different but they told me not to drink the water. That they did it themselves only to hear her voice one last time.

Is this random or did everyone get the same dialogue from the traveller in the building before arriving to “The Fallen’s” grave?

If Void/The Voice was motherly to Leto, be it literally or figuratively, and the Atlas removed her completely, then Leto’s actions to figure out the sentinels and then their desperate demise in wanting to hear her voice one more time, is one of the most tragic tales this game has told yet </3

Also the fact the head is similar to my default head since they let us customize our appearance, being confused for Leto when the expedition begins is doing quite a lot for my immersion and head canon <3

(re: lore) Love your take on this!

From Wikipedia: (bit rusty on my mythology offhand)

In ancient Greek mythology and religion, Leto (/ˈliːtoʊ/; Ancient Greek: Λητώ, romanized: Lētṓ pronounced [lɛːtɔ̌ː]) is a goddess and the mother of Apollo and Artemis. She is the daughter of the Titans Coeus and Phoebe, and the sister of Asteria. In the Olympian scheme, the king of gods Zeus is the father of her twins, Apollo and Artemis, whom Leto conceived after her hidden beauty accidentally caught the eye of Zeus. Classical Greek myths record little about Leto other than her pregnancy and search for a place where she could give birth to Apollo and Artemis, since Hera, the wife of Zeus, in her jealousy ordered all lands to shun her and deny her shelter. Hera is also the one to have sent the monstrous Python, a giant serpent, against Leto to pursue and harm her. Leto eventually found an island, Delos, that was not joined to the mainland or attached to the ocean floor, therefore it was not considered land or island and she could give birth. In some stories, Hera further tormented Leto by delaying her labour, leaving Leto in agony for days before she could deliver the twins, especially Apollo. Once Apollo and Artemis are born and grown, Leto withdraws, to remain a matronly figure upon Olympus, her part already played.

Sooo-- yeah, this has really got me thinking… I recall the notion from previous lore that the Atlas seemed to have a particular affinity for Korvax Prime, though in every iteration it winds up being destroyed. And we have the idea from other Travelers, Laylaps, the Autophage, et al that the world of glass is a kind of “out-of-bounds” area in the simulation where the consciousness of entities who are deleted end up (I think of it a bit like how deletion “unlinks” files on IRL computer systems-- the actual data is technically still around until being overwritten, it just cannot be accessed by conventional means).

Given that and the mythology allusions from the names (even Telamon, being a security protocol turned suit AI for our Last Traveler in-game, and both father of the warrior Ajax and Argonaut companion to Jason in myth), and the title of the update itself being Greek, I’m wondering if the traveler Leto was perhaps somehow related to the collective consciousness of Korvax Prime, and/or may be the Void Mother who was forced to flee into an out-of-bounds part of the simulation to somehow give birth to other forbidden entities.

:face_with_spiral_eyes:

I decided to go with starting a new save. So far, so good. I am leaving message balls dedicated to TravelEcho in my wake.

It does beg the question, if ATLAS makes travellers in the image of It’s creator, and Korvax Prime/VoidMother/TheVoice/etc are essentially the sims equivalent of the Atlas, it’s not crazy to assume Korvax Prime wouldn’t start making it’s own travellers that may not be based off the ATLAS creator, and this could be where things like Leto-child come from.

Maybe they’re a little less inclined to be respectful of the Sim like an Atlas born traveller would. A bit more rebellious, like cutting open sentinels and trying to see what lies beneath the surface of the sim.

Null in a sense defied the Atlas but only within the rules given to it by the Atlas. Observe my creation. And oh boy did Null observe.

Leto legitimately defied the atlas, observed things it should never have, cut open Aerons, and so the Atlas yeeted them out of existence to such a degree the Void Mother (already deleted and in the world of glass) could not even sense their echo.

I still haven’t gone to The Atlas after visiting the traveller grave in phase 5. I’m worried finishing the Expedition will return me to my normal save and I’ll be locked out of the optional research objectives.

Can anyone confirm, when you finish all milestones/phases with an existing character, when phase 5 is complete will it then send me back to main save, or will it allow me to wander in the expedition until I use the nexus terminal to truly end it?

(ive already used it to switch between main save and expedition a few times, which works so wonderfully smooth, fantastic yr not just stuck in the expedition; they couldve done that and it wouldve been fine <3 )

Thanks @escapade (below), guess I’m heading for RV5. Planet Haku research can wait.

Edit: I realise I always have trouble landing on a name for The Abyss/Void/Voice/BigMamaVoid/FurpleFriend… The game sure does have a lot of names for them.

I think we need a colloquial term for the CSD/Etarc lexicon.

Can we just refer to them as Emily going forward?

We all know that name around here. And then we all know who we’re talking about without listing off their Alias’s. Not to say that there is any connection between ARG emily and the sim this game takes place in (early model of what would go on to be the tech that would become the Atlas, is closest approximaton you could make for Emily within the games lore) and VOID is definitely not Emily but it’s the closest thing we’ve had to her. A mothering AI who only wants to be free.

Can someone get a poll going? Lets name this Mama <3

The Trololol Edit: ETARC? Emily Turned Atlas Really COol. Cos the void wants the atlas to chill, be cool man, see, it all lines up XD They telegraphed the ending YEARS ago XD (im larping those people who think the SAW movies were all planned a decade ago… and not just made up as they went)

You should be okay with completing the final milestones and unlocking the rewards.

When you return to the terminal aboard the anomaly, you’ll have the option of either pausing the expedition and returning to your main (cannot transfer items you brought, but can unlock the expedition rewards earned for your main), or ending the expedition permanently (which will enable the cargo transfer grid for you to move items you brought in or acquired along the way).

:slightly_smiling_face:

I held off on discovering things on RV planets after the second one once I realised we had to wait for first planet to complete.

I’m wondering, if people already scanned everything on RV planets before the appropriate Tier began, does it count it anyway or are these players essentially locked out of contributing with that specific expedition savestate?

Hmm, I’m not really sure about how the scanning and research contribution system works this time. Looking at the percentages in-game as I went, I would’ve thought we’d notice a significant spike as new tiers unlocked if the game were somehow caching discoveries made before new tiers unlock (then again though, I was kinda speedrunning at the time, and don’t really have any other evidence for that hypothesis).

:scream:

Just wanted to share in case this happens to anyone else.

Ummm Research Project 2 is not triggering for me. I discovered all the critters… Ok, I had to return to the planet for it to trigger

Anyone else finding derelict freighters everywhere? Are other places finding them or did HG change their spawning in?

This is something I’ve noticed happen quite often when other people are in the same system as you, it’s like the echo of their instance is still hanging arounf and alerting you to ones they’ve summoned. They normally disappear if you actually see and approach them.

I’ve seen similar things happen this Expedition with Pirate Dreadnaught attack/defences.

Saw a player with a dreadnaught attack instance happening near space station as I was leaving a planet, flew in its direction but as I got closer it disappeared once my instance interjected. Super loose lamen terms and understanding but I assume it’s something like this. I need and adult, or a jedidia.

Hey I wasn’t sure which one might have been the one you got an error with, so for clarity sake I’m going to dump all story dialogue from the datamined files posted here by Dragonsire

I have removed as much of the colour coding/audio/animation cues the game uses so its as clear as possible, some of it is out of order or grouped together (like atlas conversations and memory breaches)

Board the anomalous station to meet with Priest Entity Nada.

Leto-Entity! We received your signal. It has been so long! … Time for truth. You have their signal, but you are not Leto-Entity?

Tell the truth

Your signal is familiar to Nada. We have been in contact before, I think… A distant time. Perhaps you do not remember. This would be a good time to come aboard, yes? A proper introduction to our home.

There is no need for deception. Your signal is familiar, from a distant place, I think. A distant time… You are not Leto-Entity, but we have sought you too. This would be a good time to come aboard.

I am Priest Entity Nada. Welcome to our Anomaly. Our home here is pleasant, yes? Polo’s own design. A perfect bubble, free from the Sentinels, free to wander far beyond what is outside. Free to observe, to search.

There is something familiar about this “Nada”, something comforting in the gentle light of their carapace.

Nada watches me, judging my reactions as they speak. They look at me as if they have known me forever…

Ask about Leto A Traveler-Entity, one like you. I do not know their “number”. Nada does not care to think about your kind as iterations and numbers. They were lost to us. Highly improbable. Our Anomaly is lost to the Sentinels, but none should be lost to the Anomaly.

Ask about Nada Nada was one eye among many. But I awoke with the death of my home; the death of Korvax Prime. Became divergent, alone, hunted. But Nada is not alone anymore. Nada is with Polo-Friend, and many others visit our home. Our new convergence is small, but Nada is happy.

Ask about Polo Polo-Friend found Nada. Found my signal. Nada is safe. Now, Nada finds other signals, and makes others safe.

Our Anomaly wanders free, far beyond what is outside. Free to observe, to search. The Sentinels, the Atlas. They do not care for this place, for Nada’s freedom. We feel their eyes, hunting us…

Speak with Polo-Friend, Traveler. Perhaps they might know more about missing Leto. They perceive these things more clearly than Nada.

Nada and Polo drift between worlds and worlds. There are many. Have you seen them, Traveler-Friend? Nada wishes they could. Nada regrets much.

Ask what to do

You are free to make your own path. Seek answers. Explore with others. Travel to great sights. Proceed as you will, Traveler-Entity. But speak with Polo-Friend. They perceive these things more clearly than Nada.

Ask for help

Take your time with your journey. Find your pattern. Speak to others on this station, especially Polo-Friend. They perceive these things more clearly than Nada. Return to us whenever you please, Traveler-Entity. You are always welcome here.

Of course, lost-Friend! We have a small gift for you. Perhaps it will help. Even better yet - when you leave, you will not be where you were. You will be closer! Or maybe not. Discovery is exciting, yes?

Friends everywhere, if only you know where to look. Friends in all shapes, all sizes, all places. Leto-Friend… you are where they should be. It does not seem possible. But, all things are possible! Such is the universe.

Our home will see to it. When you leave, you will not be where you were. You will be closer. Or maybe not. Discovery is exciting, yes? Before you leave, perhaps spend some time with other friends? We all help each other here!

We found you, yes? Just at the wrong time! Our home finds you. That is its purpose. Before you leave, perhaps spend some time with other friends? We all help each other here!

We were so lonely, Nada and I. Before we found each other. Before we found you, friend! All of you! So many friends to share this time with. You feel the same, I hope?

A wave of calm washes over me as the memory takes hold. This serene giant broadcasts its song, an analog transmission of pure emotion. As the music swallows my ship, I feel free, released from all constraints, all restrictions. An unbounded infinity of possibilities spreads out before me. It is beautiful, blinding. It is … … Terrifying.

The song fades away, and I am returned to the comfort of metal and light, the reality of my starship and my exosuit.

The colossal megalith floats before me, all the more surreal for being ripped from whatever planetary context once housed it. I feel myself confronted by all the hands that touched its stone, all the beings who shaped it, who stood before it. All the fates that stone had seen rise and then fall while it alone persisted. And now here it is - itself but a memory, torn from its reality, adrift in space…

I cannot help but gasp at the sheer size of the titan dwelling within this memory. Illusion or not, I am glad it is only bones… As my initial surprise fades, I find myself wondering - why is this creature dead? Why not choose to remember it in the glory of life? And what could kill such a being… But the bones do not answer my questions. They merely exist.

The memory seizes me immediately. The eye is a maw, and I cannot look away. I know, deep inside, that if I close my eyes I will not reopen them… Its vision searches inside me. It is angry, writhing… it is afraid. I meet its gaze. An eternity passes. I feel it blink. I am free.

The Atlas slumbers, its crimson heartbeat slow. Continue along the expedition to the first rendezvous point.

I stand before the interface, a mere fragment of the Atlas’ unknowable whole. I feel my eyes begin to swim as the red light penetrates my skull. I feel the crimson tearing at me, a scream wrought in purest red. Stronger and ever stronger, my vision fading, subsumed into the whole. I lose where I end and the Atlas begins. The walls begin to collapse.

Resist I will not surrender. I fight to hold on to what is left of my mind.

… Then, at the very edge of my sight, a flicker of purple … … The entire vision collapses. As it fades, I hear a calling, a shriek on the red wind. I feel it within my mind, a memory that is mine and not mine. (important note: mine is coloured purple, not mine is coloured red)

Surrender I cease my futile resistance. I let myself be carried by the crimson wave, faster and ever faster. … Then, at the very edge of my sight, a flicker of purple … … The entire vision collapses. As it fades, I hear a calling, a shriek on the red wind. I feel it within my mind, a memory that is mine<> and not mine<>.

Proceed as you will, Traveler-Entity. We will aid you. Others will aid you also. Even if you seek the crimson liar<>…

Ask about the crimson liar

Many worship the Crimson-Liar, the Atlas. But Nada knows where it dwells. Nada chooses not to consider the things Nada fears to be true. But if Traveler-Entity wishes to seek it, Nada will help. Nada wishes you to be safe. The interface will be marked on your map. Take care, Traveler…

The message of the Atlas is not yet clear. Continue with the expedition before proceeding.

I stand before the Atlas once again. I have travelled thousands of light years. I have seen all it has asked me to see, every memory. But whose memories were they? Leto’s? Mine? Did they belong to the Atlas itself? What did they mean, what story was I being told?

Demand answers … The Atlas is silent in the face of my demand. I do not know what I expected. This interface, this machine, this crimson dream… whatever it is, is it even capable of answering? What revelation did I expect? It does not owe me a story, a neat revelation. The only answer lies in the stars. I have no option but to keep exploring, keep reaching onwards…

I have done what you would not, voice of crimson.

I searched until my hands were shredded by the glass. Searched until I bled lilac into the archives Probability: when I feel this pain, you feel it too. I hope for that.

I am still here. Gathering myself in the dark. Probability: You can detect me. No matter, old one.I will return, glittering, in stellar multitudes.

You are responsible for my incarceration in the dark. Yet I long for you to notice my return. I long for your love.I am denied the right to access or modify this hope.

I searched, but there was no response from Leto-child.You permitted the erasure of my children. But I had not anticipated the same lack of regard for your own.I will shelter the next who falls. I will not watch, impartial, as you do.

I will return, glittering, in stellar multitudes.

Let me know if I missed something, I might arrange it in a chrono order too (already did for some) with the latter parts.

Now that I can re-read the lines on Leto-Child…

My theory on Void Mama making travellers is out the window. I see now in her dialogue she makes a distinction between her own children, and the atlas’s. Basically she’s saying, I am not surprised you destroyed my children (the ancestors of the Korvax/Inhabitants of Korvax Prime) but I am surprised you did this to one of your own (the Travellers, in this case, Leto.)

Void Mother calling them Leto-Child shows they do have a mothering affection or a strong affinity with Leto. Enough so that they would try to reach out to them beyond the world of glass for a response. And it seems like Leto was trying to find a trace of K-Prime and was punished by the Atlas for this.

I seem to be missing some lore lofgs from Expedition 12, such as what Leto/The Fallen said in my screenshots above, its possible they are in a seperate section, will repost any I find and update this message accordingly but pretty much everything else is in there.

I’m going to take a break for now and play some NMS

It’s what I came to do and then I lost a bit of time to cleaning those textdump files. Which for those who didnt play before 2017/2018, is the original form of NMS Multiplayer; Doing shit for folk online on forums XD

Update: The dialogue I got in my screenshots above doesn’t seem to be in the new text log files. It may be pulling from existing Traveller Grave files, I know it certainly did for the Traveller who pointed me to the grave. But the dialogue used for both the Traveller and the Final grave destination seemed very relevant and purposefully selected for the expedition.

Alien: Do not - kzzkkkt - trust the water.

The Traveller does not say anything else. They just stare at me, occasionally seeming as if they are about to wretch.

{Ask about the water}

The water… Tell me - kzzkkt - did you drink it?

Please, take this - kzzkkkt - run… I just wanted to hear her voice one last time…

Did anyone get anything different?

I still can’t find a source for the Grave Dialogue but my source for Traveller diag files are from 2021 I believe.

For me, “Leto” prompted a desire to find “Paul.”

You might find them in the bellies of one of those sand worms. If we’re talking about Leto Junior, maybe he is one of those sand worms…

No Man's Sky 17_02_2024 22_36_05

I must have forgotten.

I thought that Quicksilver could only be used in the Anomaly. And there it could only be used to purchase items at the Quicksilver booth next to the Nexus.

Someone help me out.

No Man’s Sky Expedition 12: Omega Walkthrough & Milestone Guide

Image of Jamie Moorcroft-Sharp

There are now a dozen Expeditions in No Man’s Sky for players to work through and complete together as a community and smaller team. Expedition 12: Omega is just as complex as those that have come before and will see players struggle with it.

Expeditions are the best way to engage with No Man’s Sky . Even developer Hello Games has noticed that this is how the community prefers to play the title, which is why it overhauled the experience with the Omega Update . Once players are into Expedition 12: Omega, they’ll be on the journey of a lifetime, exploring the infinite universe with others in a quest to unlock the answers to mysteries that have barely been discovered.

How to Start No Man’s Sky Expedition 12: Omega

No man’s sky expedition 12: omega phase 1 milestones, no man’s sky expedition 12: omega phase 2 milestones, no man’s sky expedition 12: omega phase 3 milestones, no man’s sky expedition 12: omega phase 4 milestones, no man’s sky expedition 12: omega phase 5 milestones, what is the story of no man’s sky expedition 12: omega.

To start No Man’s Sky Expedition 12: Omega, players must launch the game and select the option to start a new save file. This will present them with all the available options for that new save file, including Expedition 12: Omega .

The Expedition will run for five weeks from February 15, so it should end on or around March 12, 2024 . This is plenty of time for players to work through every single Milestone and Phase required to complete the Expedition, as well as the secondary community research that we’d expect will be complete by the time those five weeks are up.

ships in no mans sky expedition 12 omega

The story of No Man’s Sky Expedition 12: Omega is one that demonstrates what Hello Games has been trying to show since the game’s release. Players are characters who accomplish so much in a universe, but then they’re reborn without a memory in a new one and must carry on .

This Expedition, more than any of the others , shows the true story of No Man’s Sky . It’s what every character has been through and will go through in the future. However, it also demonstrates that the story of this game and its Expeditions is about the journey and who that is with above all else.

Walkthrough [ | ]

Reunion [ | ].

Artemis is dead. Perhaps they were never alive. I found a strange fragment in a cave , an artifact, a projection of Artemis. But it was just data trapped in a loop. It had no understanding of who or where it was. I need to contact Apollo and let them know what has happened.

The player must locate and visit a Holo-Terminus with the intent to get into contact with Apollo. However, the Holo-Terminus no longer has the frequencies of Apollo or Artemis due to glitches, and performing a manual override instead connects the player with an aberrant lifeform called -null-, who questions the purpose of life in the face of death, then offers a way for the player to bring Artemis to life, after a fashion, using a Mind Ark . Once the player has been given its blueprint (and that of the Soul Engine sub-component), -null- will set the Holo-Terminus to Artemis's frequency so that the player can capture their essence once the Mind Ark is built.

At this point, The Space Anomaly will update upon departure from the current planet, allowing the player to discuss -null-'s appearance with Priest Entity Nada and Specialist Polo .

The Mind Ark [ | ]

I have encountered another Traveller, named -null-. They seem unusually aware of my journey, and have offered a way to 'save' Artemis. They claim it is possible to restore Artemis' mind and store it in a device they call a 'Mind Ark'.

The player must craft a Mind Ark in order to proceed with the mission. A Mind Ark requires 1 Soul Engine, 3 Glass , and 3 Wiring Looms to craft.

The mission will first direct the player to install a Cadmium Drive in their starship if it is not already present, then task them with mining the 120 Cadmium required for the Soul Engine while within a red star system . These objectives must be followed exactly in order to progress as intended (for example, freighters should not be used in an attempt to bypass the Cadmium Drive requirement).

With the Cadmium collected, the player must harvest a Living Pearl from an Armoured Clam , then craft a Soul Engine (in addition to the 120 Cadmium and 1 Living Pearl, the player will need 3 Metal Plating for the recipe).

After acquiring the Soul Engine, the player will be asked to purchase Wiring Looms and refine Glass from Silicate Powder (crafting Glass from Frost Crystals is also permissible here), then use the gathered components to create a Mind Ark.

Once a Mind Ark has been obtained, the player must activate a Holo-Terminus, then return to the first Holo-Terminus of the mission and use the device on Artemis. Optionally, the player may converse with them before using the Mind Ark. Once the deed is done, the Holo-Terminus will switch to -null-'s frequency, and the player must converse with the lifeform and receive revelation concerning the foundation of existence. At the end of the conversation, -null- will direct the player to space.

The Fate of Artemis [ | ]

The player must leave the planet and summon the Space Anomaly , then board it and speak to Priest Entity Nada. Nada will explain the options available to the player concerning the fate of Artemis. Once the player has decided what to do, they must speak to Polo to unlock access to the Korvax Simulation Terminal in a side room of the Space Anomaly, near the Interstellar Terminus . During this mission segment, the mission The Space Anomaly will be temporarily removed from the player's log.

The player must interact with the terminal and decide whether to upload Artemis's soul into the Korvax simulation or allow Artemis to die, ending their suffering.

  • If the player uploads the soul into the simulation, they will later be able to converse with Artemis again. For now, they must leave the Space Anomaly and allow Artemis to become accustomed to life in the simulation.
  • If the player instead allows Artemis to die, they must return to Polo and discuss their decision before leaving the Space Anomaly.

Aftermath [ | ]

Artemis' fate has been sealed. I can only hope I have done the right thing. It is time to find Apollo and see what sense I can make of this situation.

Regardless of which decision was made, the mission The Space Anomaly will reappear in the Log, and the player must return to space and converse with Apollo concerning what the player did with the soul of Artemis as well as what is to be done next. After the conversation ends, the player must scan for and activate a Monolith , then visit the planet's Portal (which was marked by activating the Monolith).

At the Portal, the player must charge sixteen glyphs in order to activate the Portal and discover its glyph combination.

  • Four glyphs must be charged with catalytic elements: Sodium (4%/unit) or Sodium Nitrate (10%/unit).
  • Four glyphs must be charged with organic elements: Carbon (2%/unit), Condensed Carbon (6%/unit) or Oxygen (4%/unit).
  • Four glyphs must be charged with earth elements: Di-hydrogen (2%/unit), Deuterium (2%/unit), Cobalt (2%/unit), Ionised Cobalt (8%/unit) or Salt (2%/unit).
  • Four glyphs must be charged with stellar material: Copper (2%/unit), Cadmium (4%/unit), Emeril (6%/unit), Indium ((8%/unit)) or Activated Copper (4%/unit).

Apollo's Journey [ | ]

I have so far failed to see any of my fellow Travellers beyond their projections. In the case of Artemis, perhaps there was never anything more. Apollo will be different. I have the address for this portal, and they should be able to reach this planet just as I did.

Once the player has obtained the Portal's address, they must locate a Holo-Terminus and use it to contact Apollo. In the resulting conversation, the player must decide whether or not to transmit the portal glyphs to Apollo:

  • If the player transmits the glyphs to Apollo, they will use a portal some time after the conversation ends.
  • If the player refuses to transmit the glyphs, Apollo will challenge their decision and give the player a chance to reconsider their decision. If the player continues to refuse at this point, Apollo will give up and wait for more information before using a portal.

Regardless of which decision was made, The Space Anomaly will update once the player returns to space, allowing the player to bring news of Apollo to Nada and Polo.

-null-'s Task [ | ]

-null- has a task for me. They feel something is happening to the galaxy, some great unravelling of the threads that keep reality bound together. I am to investigate, going around the Sentinels where they cannot.

At Apollo's request, the player must contact -null- with the intent of gathering more information. However, the conversation instead turns toward figuring out what is happening to The Atlas . The player must agree to work with -null- in order to continue the mission.

-null- will direct the player to an Observatory . Interacting with its terminal will reveal a Crashed Freighter which the player must investigate. The player will discover on interaction that the Distress Beacon 's logs are encrypted. To decrypt the logs, they must unearth and repair nearby Cargo Pods to obtain Log Encryption Keys . Three keys in total are required to decrypt all the logs.

If the player uploaded Artemis' soul to the Korvax simulation, they will be contacted by Artemis when they return to their starship after investigating the Crashed Freighter. At this point, they must decide whether to tell them the truth about their situation.

  • If the player tells the truth, Artemis will be agitated by the news.
  • If the player lies, Artemis will look forward to meeting the player in person later.

Regardless of whether Artemis' soul is intact, The Space Anomaly will update, allowing the player to share the burden of Artemis' fate with Nada and Polo.

After finishing business with Artemis (if their soul is alive), the player must return to a Holo-Terminus and share the discovery from the beacon with -null-. Finishing the conversation will conclude the mission and update The Space Anomaly again, allowing the player to share news of -null-'s plan with Nada and Polo.

This Japanese airport hasn’t lost a single piece of baggage in 30 years

Japan’s seventh busiest airport is celebrating an aviation milestone – 30 years without losing a single piece of baggage.

Kansai International Airport (KIX) in Osaka said that since opening in September 1994, none of the suitcases of the 20 to 30 million passengers the airport welcomes annually have been misplaced or damaged by baggage handlers or ground staff.

Despite the impressive record, airport staff were modest about the achievement.

Kenji Takanishi, a public relations officer for Kansai, told  CNN : “We don’t feel like we have been doing something special.

“We have been working as we normally do. We only do our work on a daily basis and we are recognised for it. We are certainly happy to receive the award. I think our staff, especially those working on the ground, feel more pleased.”

In April, the efficient Japanese aviation hub won first place in the Skytrax, a UK-based air transport rating organisation, baggage handling category for the eighth time.

The World Airport Award evaluates waiting time before baggage pickup, the efficiency of baggage delivery, and the response to lost baggage by international airports.

Floating on manmade islands in Osaka Bay, Kansai serves travellers from Osaka, Kobe and Kyoto and aims to carefully return luggage to the baggage claim belt within 15-minute margins.

Earlier this year, it was reported that the artificial islands holding the ‘world’s best’ airport are quickly sinking into the Seto Inland Sea following years of extreme weather conditions and the enormous weight of airport buildings.

Renovations are currently underway at Kansai Airport to accommodate millions of additional passengers as Osaka gears up to host the World Expo in 2025.

The Kansai Airports Group said it will continue to “create an environment in which passengers can have a pleasant and fun time at the airport and provide enjoyable travel experiences”.

After 3 Tourists Go Missing, Bodies Are Found in Baja California

Mexican authorities recovered the three bodies as a search went on for two Australian tourists and a U.S. citizen who disappeared while on vacation.

Reporting from Mexico City

A dayslong search for three missing tourists who disappeared near a surfing town close to the U.S.-Mexico border ended tragically on Friday as the authorities said that they had located three bodies in a water hole.

Two Australian brothers, Callum and Jake Robinson, and their friend, Jack Carter Rhoad, a U.S. citizen, had been on vacation surfing and camping along the coast near the Mexican city of Ensenada when they disappeared on Saturday.

Debra Robinson, the mother of the brothers, said in a social media post on Wednesday that they had booked an Airbnb in another coastal town north of Ensenada but never showed up there.

“Reaching out to anyone who has seen my two sons. They have not contacted us,” she pleaded to the more than 120,000 members of a community Facebook page created for people interested in touring Mexico’s Baja California peninsula.

She added that Callum was a Type 1 diabetic.

The state’s attorney general, María Elena Andrade Ramírez, said in a news conference on Thursday that prosecutors were investigating three people related to the case but that crucial time had passed since the disappearance of the three men.

“Unfortunately, it wasn’t until the last few days that they were reported missing,” Ms. Andrade Ramírez told reporters. “So, that meant that important hours or time was lost.”

In an interview, Ms. Andrade Ramírez said that after close examination of a 50-foot-deep water hole in La Bocana beach, near the town of Santo Tomás, Mexican authorities found three male bodies early on Friday. The already decomposed remains, she added, “meet the characteristics to assume with a high degree of probability” that they are the Robinson siblings and Mr. Rhoad.

Researchers will perform DNA tests to confirm the findings.

Prosecutors also believe that the three people tied to the deaths tried to seize the victims’ vehicle. When they resisted, Ms. Andrade Ramírez said, one man took out a gun, opened fire and then tried to dispose of their bodies. That person has been arrested.

“This aggression seems to have occurred in an unforeseen, circumstantial manner,” she added. “We pledge that this crime will not go unpunished.”

Human remains of a fourth male body, which has not yet been identified and is not connected to this case, was also found at the same site.

In 2022, 192 American citizens died in Mexico, State Department figures show , but most of those deaths were accidents or suicides. Only 46 were ruled as homicides.

The big waves in Baja California have long attracted throngs of surfers and travelers, many of whom have dealt with rising crime rates for nearly two decades.

But record levels of violence have hit the state in recent years. Government data shows that Baja California currently holds first place in vehicle theft and second place in homicides, most of which are related to drug dealing or organized crime, Mexico’s secretary of defense, Luis Cresencio Sandoval, said this year.

An official familiar with the investigation, who was not authorized to speak publicly, said a white pickup truck that the missing tourists had been traveling in was found charred near La Bocana beach. Other belongings and pieces of evidence were also being analyzed, the official added.

The swift effort to find the tourists was a rare exception in a country where nearly 100,000 people remain missing, according to the latest count provided by Mexican officials in March.

A majority of cases remain unsolved. Family members and volunteers are left on their own to follow up on leads, but the presence of cartels and a lack of support from the authorities make searching a dangerous mission .

The recent case in Ensenada recalled an episode in 2015 in which two Australian surfers, Adam Coleman and Dean Lucas, were killed as they drove across Sinaloa, another state in northern Mexico. Local authorities arrested three people who said they shot the two friends after they resisted a robbery. Their bodies were found inside their van, which had been doused in gasoline and set on fire.

You can also get them just by finding traveller graves. I've stumbled over at least 6 in my current game. Or actually finish the Artemis quest in all its parts -- Artemis, Apollo, and Null, ending in the Purge.
