Cruise and Kidman adopted both Connor and his older biological sister, 30-year-old Bella Cruise, when they were still married.

The 28-year-old son of  Tom Cruise  and  Nicole Kidman  took to his Instagram Stories over the weekend to share a rare photo of himself at the Belleair Country Club in Florida.

In the shot, Connor poses in a blue checkered polo shirt, shades, and a hat and flashes a peace sign while posing for the selfie alongside two friends.

The smiling shot was taken in Belleair, a city just a few miles away from Clearwater, Florida which, as of 2019, Connor calls home.

The re-post marks the first from Connor since an April 29 photo , which also saw the son of two of Hollywood's most famous actors, on the golf course. This time, Connor was seen at the Pelican Golf Club, also in Belleair. He rocked a similar fit, wearing in the pic, wearing a striped polo shirt, gray shorts, shades, and a hat, flashing a thumbs up while standing next to a friend on the green.

He captioned the post with some golfing emojis.

Connor has mostly stayed out of the spotlight in recent years despite his famous parents. He did, however, attend the Diesel Fashion Show for Milan Fashion Week in February.

Kidman, 55, and Cruise, 60, were married in 1990 before splitting in 2001.

While public appearances from the 28-year-old are few and far between , Connor has been photographed alongside his famous father on multiple occasions over the years, including an appearance at a 2021 October Los Angeles Dodgers game in San Francisco. The pair were photographed sitting side-by-side in the stands as Cruise took photos with fans.

Cruise and Connor were also photographed together in October 2019 in London before boarding a private helicopter.

In addition to Connor and Bella, Cruise shares 17-year-old daughter Suri with his ex-wife, Katie Holmes. Kidman, meanwhile, is also mom to daughters Sunday, 14, and Faith, 12, with husband, Keith Urban.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman’s son makes rare public appearance at Mission Impossible premiere

Connor Cruise, the 28-year-old adopted son of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman has been photographed with his father for the first time in years.

Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman’s son Connor Cruise has supported his father’s new Mission Impossible movie during a rare public appearance in New York.

The only son of the two legendary movie stars dressed casually for the event and was snapped wearing a grey collared shirt with blue jeans and sneakers.

Tom’s beloved sister Lee Mapother also tagged along with the father-son duo.

The 28-year-old was adopted in 1995 by Tom and then-wife Nicole but lives a private life away from the spotlight and is seldom seen publicly with either of his parents.

Connor and his sister Isabella are believed to be somewhat estranged from their famous mother ever since Tom divorced Nicole in 2001.

In 2018, Kidman made a rare statement about her relationship with her children.

“I’m very private about all that. I have to protect all those relationships. I know 150 per cent that I would give up my life for my children because it’s what my purpose is,” she told Who magazine.

Tom and his two eldest children are all devout Scientologists, while Nicole is a Roman Catholic and has publicly distanced herself from the church.

“They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them,” she said, adding that Connor and Isabella are “adults.”

Nicole also shares two biological daughters with her second husband Keith Urban and predominantly lives between Nashville and Sydney, while Connor and Isabella are believed to live in Florida and London respectively.

Kidman has not been photographed with her two elder children in more than 15 years and typically declines to discuss them in interviews out of respect of their religious beliefs.

She was also not present at either Connor or Isabella’s weddings in 2015 and 2019.

More recently, Connor’s sister Isabella has publicly used the name “Bella Kidman Cruise” and occasionally comments on her mother’s Instagram posts.

Connor and Isabella also have a half-sister, Suri, from Tom’s marriage to Katie Holmes.

Unlike her elder siblings, Suri is not believed to be in contact with her father Tom after Katie was granted sole custody.

Inside Nicole Kidman's Relationship With Her Kids Bella And Connor Cruise

Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise are the parents of two adopted children, Connor and Isabella "Bella" Cruise. When the couple split, the "Moulin Rogue" actor's relationship with their kids became fractured. She has since moved on with country star Keith Urban and welcomed two girls, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, but there has been much speculation about where things stand with Kidman and her eldest children.

The specifics of their relationship may be vague, but when Kidman speaks about Connor and Bella to the press, there's a lot of love. "Motherhood is about the journey. There are going to be incredible peaks and valleys, whether you are an adopting mother or a birth mother. What a child needs is love," she said in  The Sun  in 2019. She has also made it clear that there is no difference between having adopted or biological children. "It's the emotion of attaching to a child and helping to guide them and rear them [that is important]," she told Tatler in 2018.

They are all grown up, and their mom feels they've turned out well. "They are healthy and sane and together and are great, great people," she told Associated Press (via Daily Mail ) in 2010. "So I'm not one of those people that needs to be reminded of what I have." But that doesn't mean everything has always been perfect. Here's how Nicole Kidman's relationship with Bella and Connor has evolved over the years.

Nicole Kidman adopted her children in in 1992 and 1995

Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise married in 1990. The "Batman Forever" actor knew she wanted to start a family with her husband, but the traditional route was not possible for them. "From the minute Tom and I were married, I wanted to have babies," Kidman told Vanity Fair . "And we lost a baby early on, so that was really very traumatic. And that's when we would adopt [our daughter] Bella."

The Oscar winner has been open about her fertility and miscarriage and how it impacted her experience with motherhood. "I wish I'd had more children, but I wasn't given that choice," she told Marie Claire in 2021. She did become a mom for the first time, thanks to adoption. First to Isabella "Bella" Cruise in 1992 and later to Connor Cruise in 1995. The love the star felt for her children was instant.

"When I held Bella in my arms, that was everything. I look into those eyes, and that crazy love happens — it's crazy love because you'll do anything when you have a child," Kidman told The Independent in a 1998 interview. "It opens up a part of your heart you didn't even know was there." At the same time, Kidman is open to them connecting with their birth parents. "That's part of my belief on adoption," she told E! News in 2016. "If a child wants to find their birth mother, I'm absolutely supportive of that."

Nicole Kidman's divorce from Tom Cruise impacted her children

There was a time when Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise were one of Hollywood's hottest couples. "He swept me off my feet. I fell madly, passionately in love," she told The Sun. And things between them moved quickly. "I was so young. I look back now, and I'm like, 'What?' I had two kids by the time I was 27, and I'd been married for four years. But that's what I wanted," she shared.

But that ended with their divorce in 2001. Following their split, something seemingly shifted in Kidman's relationship with her children."They live with Tom, which was their choice," she said in 2010, per  Hello!  magazine. "I'd love them to live with us, but what can you do?" Kidman and Tom agreed to joint custody of their children, but there's been much speculation about how much time she spends with them. There would be years without photographs of them in public, and there have been reports that Tom has excluded Kidman from special events, like their son's wedding, per Radar . (In 2019, Connor reportedly married Silvia Zanchi, who is a member of the Church of Scientology.) 

The questions about their dynamic were fueled when Kidman accepted an Emmy for Best Actress in a Limited Series in 2017 for her work in "Big Little Lies" and mentioned only her youngest kids in her speech. "I am also a mother and a wife. I have two little girls, Sunny and Faith," she said. "This is yours." 

They stopped calling Nicole Kidman 'mom'

Nicole Kidman has been reluctant to share too much about her relationship with Bella and Connor Cruise, but she has offered some rather telling details over the years. "My kids don't call me mommy, they don't even call me mom," she once told GMTV (via Marie Claire ). "They call me Nicole, which I hate, and tell them off for it."

To make matters worse, Tom Cruise's second wife, Katie Holmes, had previously gushed about her relationship with his and Kidman's kids. She said in a 2007 interview with Parade (via People ), "His first two children [Connor and Isabella] are incredible, really smart and kind. They call me 'Mom.'" In an interview with Vanity Fair in 2006, Holmes also spoke about the teens and their bond with their sister, Suri Cruise. "It's really special to see them [Bella and Connor] holding their little sister," she said. "To hear them talk about all of the fun things they are going to do together." Following Tom and Holmes' divorce, Suri reportedly became estranged from Tom ;  Suri's current relationship with her older siblings  is unclear.

Despite the complex relationship dynamics between Kidman and her children, she has stressed the importance of motherhood — regardless of the circumstances. "My daughter and son, their life is molded by the way I live," she said in a 2007 interview (via People ). "If I wasn't willing to take on that responsibility, I shouldn't have adopted them." 

Nicole Kidman's children are members of the Church of Scientology

Tom Cruise is arguably one of the most famous members of the Church of Scientology, and his older children, Bella and Connor Cruise, have followed in his footsteps. "They are adults," Nicole Kidman said in a 2018 interview with Who magazine. "They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists, and as a mother, it's my job to love them." She added that she would continue to accept them because she is their parent. "No matter what your child does, the child has love, and the child has to know there is available love, and I'm open here," she shared.

Actor and former Scientologist Leah Remini has been far less diplomatic about the Kidman-Cruise kids' upbringing. In her 2015 memoir, "Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology," "The King of Queens" star claimed Bella and Connor were kept away from any outside information that, as she put it, "might get them asking questions." Remini also remembered once asking Bella and Connor about spending time with Kidman. According to Remini, Bella allegedly responded, "Not if I have a choice. Our mom is a f***ing SP." "SP" stands for "suppressive person," which is the term the church uses for anyone who they view as an enemy.

Despite this, Kidman is supportive. "I've chosen not to speak publicly about Scientology. I have two children who are Scientologists — Connor and Isabella — and I utterly respect their beliefs," she told The Hollywood Reporter in 2013.

Nicole Kidman wants her relationship with her kids to remain private

Nicole Kidman is one of the biggest stars in the entertainment industry. As such, there will always be an interest in what she does and what happens in her personal life. While she is willing to share some of it with fans, like her fertility issues, there are other aspects she prefers to keep under wraps, like her relationship with her two oldest children. "I'm very private about all that. I have to protect all those relationships," she said in an interview with the Hollywood Foreign Press Association in 2018 (via Hello! magazine ). "I know 150 percent that I would give up my life for my children because it's what my purpose is." Kidman has also made a point of keeping her two youngest children, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, away from the spotlight.

Bella and Connor Cruise seem to be more than fine with leading relatively quiet lives. "[Connor] is DJing, he's doing really well. Bella lives in London now," Kidman said in a 2013 interview with " Extra ." "I think that, you know, everybody has their own path, and when they find their path, it's such relief as a parent, you know?" She has also praised them for who they have become. In a 2014 interview with The Weekly , she said, "They are generous, kind, and hardworking, and these are traits that I love to see in my children."

Nicole Kidman has a deep love for her children

In the interviews Nicole Kidman has given about her children, she has made one thing clear: she loves them. While promoting her film "Lion," which is a story that involves adoption, she told Town & Country , "This movie is a love letter to my children." The 2016 biographical feature, which also stars Dev Patel, follows a young man who spent the bulk of his childhood with adoptive parents and wants to find his biological family. "I relate to that. I feel that for my own children who are adopted," Kidman said. "It's not about anything else other than 'I wanted you.' It's that deep and personal, and whatever your journey is, I'm here to love and support you."

Despite the obvious love she has for Bella and Connor, Kidman has been honest about how parenting can be a challenge. No matter what, she approaches it with openness and offers support. "Parenting is about learning who they are, not making them what you want them to be — letting them find their way then supporting them," she told The Sun. "It's rigorous. You're constantly looking at yourself, so you're not placing these expectations on a child." When asked to name the most difficult thing about being a mother in Vogue's "73 Questions" series, she replied, "Knowing I won't be here forever, so I won't always be here to take care of them."

Bella Cruise and Nicole Kidman reunited in 2016

Bella Cruise moved to London and lives her life mostly out of the spotlight, although she has a public Instagram page and refers to herself as Bella Kidman Cruise. There is much chatter about her bond with her mom, but she set the record straight in a 2012 interview with New Idea magazine (via E! News ). "I love mom. She's my mom. She's great. I see her sometimes, and I speak to her," she said. "We're a very close family. I love all of our family."

In 2015, Bella married Max Parker at the Dorchester Hotel. Neither Nicole Kidman nor Tom Cruise were there. While there was speculation about why Bella's parents skipped out on the wedding, a tipster told the Daily Mail  that they simply wanted to avoid creating a media frenzy. The source also claimed Kidman was involved in the planning process.

The wedding may have excluded Kidman, but Bella's marriage is believed to have opened doors. About a year after the wedding, Bella and Kidman reunited. "It was a very emotional moment for all of them, especially Nicole," a tipster told Woman's Day Australia (via New Zealand Herald ) in 2016. "It didn't take long for her to burst into tears, and Bella soon followed." This was also an opportunity for the actor to meet Parker, and the source said she took "an instant liking" to him.

Connor Cruise says he has a 'solid' relationship with his mom

While they may not be as close as Nicole Kidman would hope, Connor Cruise has said things are good between them. "I love my mum," he said in an interview with Woman's Day in 2014. "I don't care what people say; I know that me and Mum are solid. I love her a lot. My family means everything. Yeah, I love my music, but the family comes before everything else."

His mother sure seems to share these sentiments about family. In an interview with The Weekly, the actor spoke about her children and husband, Keith Urban. "At this stage of my life, and with time being so precious, the joy I get from us as a family outweighs any joy in any other area of my life by far," she said. 

In addition to working as a DJ, Connor is a keen fisherman, golfs from time to time, and enjoys barbecuing meat. Connor resides in Clearwater, Florida — yes, near Scientology headquarters and one of dad Tom Cruise's many properties. A source told People in 2018, "Connor has a pretty simple life in Clearwater." Though they lead entirely different lives, Kidman supports the path her son has chosen to follow. "Nicole only wants the best for Connor, but she gives him the freedom to make his own decisions, and that includes his religious beliefs and where he wants to live," a tipster told Hollywood Life .

Tom Cruise and son Connor made a rare appearance together in New York City Saturday.

The “War of the Worlds” star and his 28-year-old son, whom he shares with ex-wife Nicole Kidman, stepped out in the big apple for a promotional event for Tom’s upcoming film “Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning.”

Tom wore a black button-up with blue jeans and black shoes. He completed the simple look with reflective aviator sunglasses and a silver wristwatch.

The “Top Gun: Maverick” star’s son also dressed casually for the event, wearing a gray collared shirt with blue jeans and sneakers.

The actor’s sister Lee Mapother also tagged along with the father-son duo.

Tom and Connor have made a handful of public appearances together in the past, including a 2021 Los Angeles Dodgers game in San Francisco, Calif.

Tom, 61, also shares daughter Isabella with Kidman, 56, whom he was married to from 1990 to 2001. They adopted Isabella and Connor in 1992 and 1995, respectively.

As for Tom’s son, the “Seven Pounds” star seems to lead a low-key life outside of the spotlight.

Connor appears to enjoy fishing and playing golf in Florida. He also avoids posting photos of his A-list parents on his social media.

Isabella, who goes by Bella, also stays relatively under the radar . She moved from Los Angeles to live with her husband, Max Parker, in London.

After Tom and Kidman divorced, the two kids chose to stay with their dad in Los Angeles while the “Big Little Lies” star resided in Australia.

In 2018, Kidman made a rare statement about her relationship with her children.

“I’m very private about all that. I have to protect all those relationships. I know 150 percent that I would give up my life for my children because it’s what my purpose is,” she told Australia’s Who magazine .

She also remarked on her children’s decision to pursue Scientology like their father. The actress left the church in the ’90s.

The insider said Tom had not seen his youngest daughter in a very long time and that he was not a part of her life .

After their high-profile split in 2011, Tom admitted in transcripts from his 2012 defamation lawsuit against Bauer Media that he had not seen Suri for three months after he and Holmes called it quits.

Never too old for a ball game with dad! Tom Cruise’s son Connor joined the Mission Impossible star for a rare family outing together in California, where the pair watched the Los Angeles Dodgers face off against the San Francisco Giants.

At one point during the game, which took place on Saturday, October 9, Cruise was spotted on the Jumbotron—and he wasn’t alone! The 59-year-old  Top Gun  actor was seated next to his son, 26-year-old Connor Cruise . While the elder Cruise flashed a smile for the cameras, his son could be seen chatting with other fans sitting next to him, according to Us Weekly . The Edge of Tomorrow share shares his son Connor with his ex-wife, Nicole Kidman . The former couple, who got married in December 1990 and divorced in 2001, also adopted a daughter, Isabella. While the pair rarely speak about their 11-year marriage, Kidman recently opened up about the media attention she experienced during their relationship in an interview for  Harper’s Bazaar   for their October 2021 cover story.

“I was young. I think I offered it up?” Kidman   said when asked about the media frenzy she and Cruise faced. “Maybe I’ve gotten a bit more trepidatious, but I’m always trying to be as open as possible. I just prefer to live in the world that way.”

The  Big Little Lies   star went on to explain why she prefers to be honest in the public eye: “I’m wary at times, and I’ve been hurt, but at the same time I much prefer a warm approach rather than a prickly shutdown approach. My husband, Keith [Urban], says that when he met me, he said, ‘How’s your heart?’ And I apparently responded, ‘Open,'” she said, referring to her new spouse, whom she married in 2006.

Ever since she split from Cruise, Kidman has also kept her relationship with her children private. Some have speculated over the years that the Nine Perfect Strangers  star is estranged from her children with Cruise due to their involvement in the Church of Scientology with their father, however, Kidman has since denied these rumors.  “They have made choices to be Scientologists. It’s our job as a parent to always offer unconditional love,” she told  The Sun  in 2019. These days, it looks like both Cruise and Kidman are offering that love up to their kids.

Their love story didn't last long and ended in 2001, after Cruise filed for divorce out of nowhere, and Kidman later revealed that he refused to attend counseling or to consider not divorcing.

Connor Cruise posts rare glimpse into his private life on his birthday vacation

While Connor Cruise — the son of actors Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise — isn't super active on social media, the 26-year-old recently reaffirmed his love for the hobby that dominates his Instagram page: deep-sea fishing.

In a snapshot from his birthday trip to Costa Rica, Cruise holds up a formidable yellowfin tuna that nearly rivals his height.

"Yellowfin were chewing today," Cruise captioned the post, tagging Los Suenos Resort and Marina. According to its website, the spot features the world's best offshore marlin fishery.

Much of Cruise's Instagram activity centers on showcasing the fish that he catches — one of the few aspects of his personal life that he shares online. He and his older sister, Bella Kidman Cruise — who were both adopted by Kidman and Tom Cruise during the divorced couple's decade-long marriage — tend to stay pretty private, despite their parents' Hollywood fame. Kidman Cruise's Instagram account is primarily dedicated to her artwork, with a few rare selfies sprinkled in here and there.

Taking after their father, the siblings are members of the controversial Church of Scientology . Kidman doesn't share those beliefs but has been vocal about supporting her children's religious choices in the past.

"They are able to make their own decisions," the star of 'The Undoing' told Australia's Who Magazine in 2018. "They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them. And I am an example of that tolerance, and that’s what I believe — that no matter what your child does, the child has love and the child has to know there is available love and I’m open here."

Similarly, Kidman discussed how she also respects their desire to remain out of the spotlight.

“I’m very private about all that," she said, referring to Cruise and Kidman Cruise. "I have to protect all those relationships."

However, given the fact that as of late, Isabella has been liking Kidman's posts on social media and has made comments in the past that she talks to both of her parents, it could just be that the relationship is kept private. And if this is the case, there is not much that is going to be learned about the dynamics of what happens between Kidman or even Cruise for that matter, and their kids if they do not want the public to be privy to what is going on.

Connor And Isabella Cruise's Adoption And Their Complicated Relationship With Their Parents

Kidman and Cruise got married in 1990, and according to some sources, Kidman tried her hardest to integrate herself into Cruise's belief system, the Church of Scientology. The pair decided to adopt Isabella, born in 1992, and Connor, born in 1995, after failed attempts at getting pregnant.

Kidman reportedly spent two years studying Scientology with Cruise, but ultimately she left and sources say that she was deemed a dangerous person to the Church. The Church denies the claims that they bugged their house and secretly tried to split them up through the children, but Cruise and Kidman eventually did split in 2001.

Their children, who were already being raised as Scientologists, decided to stay with Cruise instead of Kidman. But apparently, there's no ill will on either side, and Kidman's relationship with her kids over the years has been very private.

When Kidman does talk about her kids, she says she respects their choices .

"They are able to make their own decisions," Kidman explained. "They have made choices to be Scientologists and as a mother, it’s my job to love them."

Kidman went on to say, "I think that’s so important because if that is taken away from a child, to sever that in any child, in any relationship, in any family – I believe it’s wrong. So that’s our job as a parent, to always offer unconditional love."

Connor, specifically, has also denied any drama between him and his adoptive mother.

"I love my mum. I don’t care what people say, I know that me and mum are solid. I love her a lot."

Despite the fact that Kidman and her adoptive children seem to deny the fact that there's drama, there have been times when Kidman and her kids have equally not been there for one another.

After Kidman’s father died, Isabella wasn’t there for her for support. Kidman was also not present at Isabella’s wedding in 2015, or Connor's in 2019. Kidman and her oldest children have not been photographed together since 2006 either.

"We all need to do this. It’s hard work. It’s a lot of effort. It’s a few meltdowns and running to the bathroom to have a mini-episode, but it is worth everything because you will get through."

Cruise, on the other hand, has a stronger relationship with his kids and is often seen with him at events. They were also at his wedding to Holmes in 2006.

Isabella Cruise's Challenging Life

Now 30, Isabella is still an essential part of Scientology, whose job is to recruit new members. She recently penned a letter explaining her often difficult journey becoming an "auditor" , someone who "provides a precise path by which any individual may walk an exact route to higher states of spiritual awareness," for the belief system.

"This IS what I had been searching for," Isabella explained. "The missing piece. Suddenly everything began to make sense."

Isabella studied at West London's Delmar Academy of Make-up and Hair, and reportedly lives in Croydon, outside London, with her husband, Max Parker, where they live a relatively quiet life.

Besides loving Scientology, she also loves art. On her Instagram, she showcases a lot of her artwork and T-shirt designs, which are all for sale through her clothing line, BKC (Bella Kidman Cruise), which she launched in 2018.

In the past few years, Isabella has reemerged on her Instagram. She even shared a rare new photo of herself in 2022. And falling in line with her desire to not post selfies of herself often, it was not until September 2023 that Isabella posted a picture of herself with long brunette tresses, a significant difference from the short hair that has become her trademark.

Connor Cruise Has Also Gone Into Something Creative

Cruise is probably closest to Connor out of all his kids. They are often seen at Los Angeles Dodgers games and taking helicopter rides together. They are also extremely close because Connor, like his sister, is also a prominent member of Scientology.

In 2018, Connor moved to Clearwater, Florida, and was allowed to live in an "elite Scientology compound," called The Sandcastle, just a stone's throw away from one of his father's properties. Clearwater is of course where Scientology's main hub, The Flag Building, is located.

Connor briefly had an acting career as a kid, appearing in Seven Pounds, in 2008, and Red Dawn in 2012. But living in Florida he has taken up deep-sea fishing, and enjoys living life under the radar , unlike his famous father.

He married fellow Scientologist, Silvia Zanchi, in 2019, and it was reported that Cruise told him not to invite Kidman to the wedding.

Most recently, Connor has opened his own barbequing business, called Connor's Meat Shack. He has also tried his hand at learning to live more off of the earth than with consumer goods.

Connor Antony Cruise is the child of two of the biggest stars in the world right now, yet many fans are getting to know him for the first time. Now 26 years old, Connor tends to shy away from the spotlight in spite of his influential parents. Still, fans can glean a lot from his Instagram feed and sources close to his family over the years.

Connor was born on Jan. 17, 1995, and adopted by Cruise and Kidman when he was one month old. He was the second of their adopted children, following older sister Isabella Jane Cruise in 1992. For the remainder of their marriage, Cruise and Kidman's children lived relatively private lives , and they stayed out of the spotlight as much as possible even when Cruise and Kidman split in 2001.

The custody arrangement between Cruise and Kidman was never very clear to the public, but there were rumors of tension between Kidman and her adopted son. By contrast, Connor and Cruise have often been spotted in public together, apparently happy and sharing some common interests.

Connor's second and only other film role was in Red Dawn in 2012. According to Hollywood Life, Kidman told reporters in 2007 that she had a "strained" relationship with Connor. This claim does not appear anywhere else, though in 2018 Kidman did explain why she is generally private about her relationship with her two older children. According to Hello! Magazine , she told the Hollywood Foreign Press Association: "I'm very private about all that," hinting that it had to do with her children's choice to practice Scientology like their father.

"I have to protect all those relationships. I know 150 percent that I would give up my life for my children because it's what my purpose is," Kidman said. "They are adults. According to Hollywood Life , Connor has refuted rumors of tension between himself and Kidman, and has said that they are on good terms.

Scientology

As noted above, Connor is a lifelong practitioner of Scientology, having been introduced to the faith by his father at birth. In 2019, sources close to Connor confirmed his church involvement to reporters from PEOPLE , saying: "Connor and Isabella grew up in the church of Scientology, they've been members since they were kids."

The insider said that Connor and Isabella "are completely dedicated scientologists just like Tom," adding: "Connor has been able to remain close with Tom because of Scientology.... Connor lives in Clearwater, [Florida,] which is the church's main hub. He still deejays but he has really become a big fishing guy. He's content with living a quieter life." The source even said that Connor "is in a relationship with a fell Scientologist who also grew up in the religion."

"He lives in his own home in a Scientology community. His life is deep-sea fishing. He has a lot of friends and seems very well-liked," they concluded.

Connor and Tom Cruise have made some public appearances together in recent years — attending sporting events and sometimes movie premieres side by side. The insider told PEOPLE that even these sightings are related to Scientology in some ways. They said: "Tom and Connor stepping out together in London was a big deal. It was the same weekend that Scientology does their annual gathering called the International Association of Scientologists (ASI). Tom has attended numerous times in the past, but this appears to be the first time Connor has gone."

Finally, these days most fans get their fill of Connor Cruise on Instagram , where he does most of his interacting with the public. His posts have skewed more and more towards deep-sea fishing in recent years, with occasional commentary on sports, selfies with other celebrities and promotions for DJ appearances. Tom Cruise's devout faith is well-known, and it is something that his son Connor Cruise has adopted as well. "Connor has been able to remain close with Tom because of Scientology," a source told People in 2019. The "Mission: Impossible — Fallout" actor was photographed with Connor in 2019 as the two boarded a private helicopter. Not only was it a rare public appearance for the father-son duo, but the pair was headed to the International Association of Scientologists together. "Tom and Connor stepping out together in London was a big deal," the insider added.

While the two do not make many public appearances together, they are supportive of one another behind the scenes. When the 2023 Academy Award nominations were announced, Connor showed support for his pops with a post on his Instagram Stories, listing the six nominations "Top Gun: Maverick" had nabbed, along with a row of trophy emojis, per Hello!

Tom Cruise’s Adopted Son Connor Left Hollywood To Become A Pro Fisherman

Tom Cruise is one of the biggest male actors in Hollywood and he's been on our screens since 1981, which makes his career now four decades long. A star since the age of 21, Tom, who is now 59 years old, has truly spent his entire adult life in the spotlight. 

Along the way, he's also had some very famous romances. His first marriage was to actress Mimi Rogers, but it was his second marriage to Nicole Kidman that catapulted his private life into the public eye. The couple was married for 11 years, and even adopted two children together, Isabella Jane Cruise, and Connor Anthony Cruise. However, their union wasn't meant to be and they ended up getting divorced in 2001.

Tom then had a relationship with Spanish actress Penelope Cruz for three years, before he found love again with one of America's sweethearts, Katie Holmes. Their relationship made headlines when Tom professed his love for her on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," as he jumped up and down on the couch. Together the couple had a daughter named Suri Cruise, who was born in April 2006, but their marriage wouldn't last either, and Holmes filed for divorce in 2012.

Since then Tom hasn't publicly dated any other women. He's instead used the time to focus on being a father to his three children. Nowadays, Isabella and Connor are adults, while Suri is still a teenager. All of Tom's kids have kept a quiet life out of the public eye, but it's Connor who has really settled down for a relaxed life of fishing in Florida. Tom  is probably one of the most famous American actors in the world — his movies, especially the " Mission: Impossible " franchise, have made him a familiar face globally. But another reason he's so well known is the sheer longevity his career has had. But how did the heartthrob get his start in Hollywood? Tom's early life wasn't in the spotlight, but sure enough, he made his impression on Hollywood quickly and only rose up through the ranks. 

Born as Thomas Cruise Mapother IV on July 3, 1962, in Syracuse, New York, Tom didn't have a particularly warm childhood, as his family grew up poor and he later spoke of his father beating him and his siblings. The family moved around a lot in his youth and Tom attended 15 schools in 14 years. He graduated from a high school in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, and soon after at the age of 18, moved to New York to pursue acting. 

He didn't have immediate success so he moved out to Los Angeles. His first role was in 1981 and just two short years later he made a huge splash in Hollywood when he appeared in the youth ensemble movie " The Outsiders ," and fronted " All the Right Moves " and " Risky Business ," the latter of which became a cultural touchstone for Generation X. The '80s only saw his star rise, and the movies " Legend " and " Top Gun " cemented his status as a superstar of his time. The rest of the decade saw Tom star in countless movies that showed off his scope as an actor including " The Color of Money ," " Cocktail ," " Rain Man " and " Born on the Fourth of July ."   

At the same time his career was soaring, so was his personal life. He got married in 1987 to fellow actress Rogers , who introduced him to Scientology. Their marriage didn't last long, however, and in 1990 they were divorced in February before Tom met Kidman when they both starred in " Days of Thunder ." 

The couple got married the day before Christmas in 1990. Soon after they became a Hollywood fixture and the superstar couple worked together on multiple films, including Stanley Kubrick's final movie " Eyes Wide Shut ," while their individual careers shone. Tom extended his '80s reign into the '90s with movies such as " Interview With the Vampire ," " Mission: Impossible " and " Jerry Maguire ." 

During the couple's 11-year marriage, they adopted two children, Isabella , who was born in 1992, and Connor , who was born in 1995. Eventually, however, even their union didn't last, and Tom filed for divorce in 2001. He dated Spanish actress Cruz for three years following that before he met  Holmes , who was 16 years his junior, in April 2005. 

Their relationship began like a whirlwind before Tom declared his love for Holmes on an episode of " The Oprah Winfrey Show ," just one month after their relationship had become public and not long after they'd started dating. He infamously jumped up and down on the couch, clearly infatuated with his new love. The couple was engaged just seven weeks into dating, and by October of the same year, they'd announced Holmes was pregnant. Their daughter Suri  was born on April 18, 2006.  

This period coincided with Tom becoming much more public about his religion, Scientology, and he, Holmes and their daughter often found themselves photographed and in the press. It proved too much for Holmes, who in June 2012 filed for divorce from Cruise. Although the couple kept the details to themselves, it was thought that Scientology was one of the factors leading to their breakup, with allegations that Holmes wanted Suri to grow up outside of the religion.

ABC News reported that this fact was confirmed by Tom, who was asked in a court case whether Holmes divorced Tom in order "to protect Suri from Scientology," to which he replied, "Did she say that? That was one of the assertions, yes."

After the couple's split, Holmes was granted primary custody of Suri and Tom has been seen less frequently with his daughter since then. This led some tabloids to report that Tom had "abandoned" Suri, which led Tom to take them to court over the defamatory allegations. The court documents revealed that Suri was not practicing Scientology at the time of the case. Since then, Suri has lived in New York with her mother and she appears to be leading a very normal life. 

However, Tom's relationship with his other two children, Isabella and Connor, has proved to be a reverse of this situation. After he and Kidman divorced, the kids stayed with their father and have chosen to remain in Scientology. This has meant that they don't spend as much time with Kidman and she's even commented on this. While Isabella is married and lives in London, where she has a fashion brand, Connor has chosen quite a different life from the rest of his family.  

Connor was born on Jan. 17, 1995, in Florida, which happens to be where he's also based these days. He was adopted by his parents not long after his birth and joined their family of three, as they had adopted Isabella a couple of years earlier. Although Connor grew up with incredibly famous parents, they did their best to keep him and Isabella out of the spotlight and give them a relatively normal upbringing.

During the remainder of the '90s, Tom, Kidman, Isabella and Connor were a happy family of four, but by 2001 things took a turn when Tom filed for divorce. The couple broke up one year before Kidman was due to film " The Hours ," a movie in which she played writer Virginia Woolf . The role earned her an Academy Award and Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress. However, she admitted in an interview with BBC Radio 4's This Cultural Life, as reported by the Daily Mail , that the film's heavy themes and her own personal turmoil at the time led her to feel depressed. She said about the breakdown of her marriage:

“When it didn’t work out I had to really dig deep and find my way through depression. I have no regrets about all of it. It was all part of growing up.” 

In the wake of the couple's divorce, there were rumors that Kidman's relationship with her children was severed. The allegations related to the fact that Kidman had left Scientology while Isabella and Connor had stayed in the religion with their father.  

In a rare public moment, Connor spoke to the media about his relationship with his mother in 2014, when he told Australian magazine Woman's Day, as reported by Yahoo :

"I love my mum. I don't care what people say. I know that me and mum are solid. I love her a lot. My family means everything. Yeah, I love my music, but the family comes before everything else."

Then in 2019, Kidman also opened up about her relationship with Connor and Isabella. She told another Australian magazine, WHO , “I’m very private about (them)," but she did reveal a little about their relationship as it then was. She said:

“I have to protect those relationships. I know 150 percent that I would give up my life for my children because it’s what my purpose is. They are adults. They are able to make their own decisions. They have made choices to be Scientologists and, as a mother, it’s my job to love them.”

But that same year, there were media reports that Kidman hadn't attended Connor's wedding to an Italian Scientologist named Silvia. A source told Radar Online :

"Tom is behind this and what he wants is as good as law ... Tom made the call and Connor followed."

The source added that Tom didn't want Kidman at the wedding as she's seen as a "suppressive person" by the church. Kidman also didn't attend Isabella's nuptials in 2015. Nevertheless, the mother's love that she has for her children clearly hasn't waned despite them not being as close as they once were.  

In terms of his career, Connor stayed in the entertainment world for a while but ultimately it wasn't for him. In 2008, at the age of 13, he tried acting when he played a younger version of  Will Smith in the film " Seven Pounds ." He followed that up with a role in " Red Dawn " in 2012, but since then he hasn't acted in anything else.

It was around that time, during his late teenage years, that he pivoted to a career in the music industry. A budding DJ, Connor went by the name DJ C-Squared — a play on his initials — and he began to play at events including at San Francisco's Temple Nightclub for his 21st birthday. He even released a track on the label Oxygen titled "Refined." 

But by 2018, Connor didn't seem content living his life in the public eye and since then he's opted for a much quieter life albeit one that appears to make him incredibly happy. Connor swapped the glitz of the entertainment industry for a quiet life in Clearwater, Florida — which is close to the Scientology headquarters — where he spends his days fishing. Specifically, deep-sea fishing. In fact, he even competed in the sport in 2018. AOL reported that Connor was part of the company 2 Shea Charters and that his fishing team had come in third in the Rotary Club of Clearwater's Kingfish Tournament.  

A source spoke to Radar Online about the lifestyle that Connor's fishing life entails and how he's incredibly happy starting his days at 5 a.m. and being out on the water all day. They said:

"Connor’s done some growing up these past few months and decided he doesn’t want to live his life spending his dad’s money ... He loves being out on the water, so this is really a dream job for him.”   

The article said that although his current life is relatively low-key, he still lives comfortably in Clearwater, where he owns a boat worth half a million dollars and regularly dines on five-star meals at Fort Harrison, a private hotel run by the church. It seems his lifestyle has also brought him independence from his father. The source added :

“Connor knows his dad will give him anything he wants, and for a long time he took advantage of that ... But he’s really surprised himself at how much he enjoys being relatively independent, thanks to his new job.”

Connor is proud of his life and even showcases what he's up to on his Instagram page, which has over 35,000 followers. Most of his photos depict the incredibly large fishes he's caught and the big smile on his face each time shows that he is truly happy in his life. He also has a secondary account named " Connor's Meatshack ," on which he displays all kinds of meat that he barbecues including "wagyu, brisket, burgers, chicken, and ribs on chars, flats and smokers."

Most recently, Connor debuted a new look on his social channel. In the last few years, he'd let his hair and beard grow out but in June 2021, he shared a snap in which he looked completely different. With a freshly shaved head and no beard in sight, Connor shared the photo to his followers and cheekily captioned it, "new face who dis?" Since then, Connor has kept a low profile and hasn't posted much on social media, but it seems he's content living his life on the sea.

Connor Cruise is giving his followers another rare glimpse into his personal life.   While the son of Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise doesn't post on social media often, he recently made an exception during a night out with friends in Italy. In a photo posted to his Instagram Story on Sept. 22, Connor can be seen smiling alongside his pals while enjoying a meal in Milan.

This social media snap is one of the first fans have seen of the former actor since late April . At the time, the avid outdoorsman gave a shout-out to his fellow fisherman friend and boat captain. "Happy Birthday @hookedforlife," he wrote alongside a pic of the two posing while holding a rather large fish. "Cheers to another year slaying monsters around the globe."

While Connor has amassed over 35,000 followers on Instagram, the fishing enthusiast prefers to stay out of the spotlight. Connor's parents— who announced their split in 2001 after 10 years of marriage —have also notably been private about details surrounding their personal life. 

However, in a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar , the Nine Perfect Strangers star made a rare comment about the speculation surrounding her marriage.

Key Bridge collapse puts a hold on cruise ships through Port of Baltimore

BALTIMORE - The collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge has put a halt on cruise voyages out of the Port of Baltimore.

Several construction workers remain missing after a cargo ship plunged into the bridge early Tuesday. 

The impact is being felt by cruise lines porting in and out of Baltimore .

The Carnival cruise line's Legend, with more than 2,500 passengers, left Baltimore last Sunday on a seven-day trip to the Bahamas. 

Their return trip will be redirected to Norfolk, Virginia, this weekend. Passengers will be given a bus ride back to their cars at the Port of Baltimore.

Ragina Ali, a spokesperson from AAA, recalls what would be her last time witnessing one of the state's most iconic landmarks. She was on the ship celebrating her husband's birthday.

"As we left we went under the Francis Scott Key Bridge, and pointed it out to our family members, beautiful," Ali said. 

Rebekah Sanderson, a teacher who was excited to spend time off with her husband on a cruise ship, said the trip was going great before taking a dark turn.  

"That's like part of the Baltimore experience, getting out of the Harbor, going under the bridge," Sanderson said. "It was a normal Carnival cruise until it wasn't."

Cruise travelers woke up Tuesday morning to the news that Baltimore's iconic bridge had collapsed. 

"I'm looking and I'm like, 'Wait a minute, this is in Maryland and it was so surreal,'" Ali said. 

With vessel traffic suspended throughout the local waterways, the cruise then notified passengers. 

It will be a nearly five-hour drive added to Sanderson's already extensive road trip home to North Carolina. 

"I want to ask Carnival, 'Is this the best that you can do, a shuttle bus that would more than double my time home?'" Sanderson asked.

AAA says it's already receiving an increase in calls. 

They are recommending people reach out to their travel advisor, cruise and airline directly and inquire about insurance policies.

"We are staying in touch with our customers, anyone who has booked on anything," said Kelly Connor, from AAA. "Obviously, we want them to have the most exciting vacation ever." 

"In the scheme of things its a minor inconvenience when you look at all that's in stakes here," Ali said. 

Carnival says its next cruise leaving on Sunday will also set sail from Norfolk.

It's just one of three cruise lines typically departing from Baltimore, which also includes Royal Caribbean and Norwegian. 

As the situation is fluid, it's important to check updates prior to departure.

Longhorns Notebook: Texas Longhorns Handle ACU, Cruise to Midweek Win

The Longhorns keep the momentum rolling and pick up their third straight win.

The Texas Longhorns (18-11) entered their Tuesday night matchup against the Abilene Christian Wildcats (17-12) with a good amount of momentum behind them and looked to keep it rolling. Well, it is safe to say they did just that with a dominant showing in the midweek clash.

In what was always going to be a bullpen day for Texas, the pitching staff shut down a strong ACU lineup. While it obviously needs to further translate to a conference series, the ability to keep the Wildcats’ bats quiet is a positive sign moving forward for a staff that has been inconsistent. 

At the plate, the Longhorns rode an eight-run fifth inning and cruised from there to the victory. There was a bit of everything, from walks and singles to a power surge with Jared Thomas going deep once and Jalin Flores launching a pair to lead the way in the 11-1 blowout victory.

Now, here are three key takeaways from the Longhorns’ 11-1 win over the Wildcats on Tuesday night. 

Jared Thomas’ power surge

Getting on base has not been an issue in the slightest for Thomas so far this season. The Longhorns’ leadoff man entered Tuesday’s matchup hitting a team-high .409 at the plate, also leading the team with 18 walks. Getting into a groove and finding his power stroke would only make him that much deadlier at the plate. 

Folks, he’s done just that. Leading off the fifth inning, the first baseman took one deep for a solo home run. It was his seventh of the season and his fifth in the last seven games. Already a threat to get on base at a consistent clip and steal some bases, Thomas getting into a groove with the long ball makes him an even more difficult out for opposing pitchers. 

Bullpen depth impresses

Midweek games present teams like the Longhorns a key opportunity to test out their bullpen depth. From getting in work before a conference series to allowing young guys to get some work in, these Tuesday and Wednesday night matchups are a pivotal moment for those who may not have much work otherwise.

That was the case for Texas on Tuesday against ACU. The bullpen has been a wild ride so far for the Longhorns, with high highs and low lows. Starting on the mound was Chase Lummus, tossing 3.2 innings of one-run baseball. Coming in behind him and offering strong innings were potential bullpen pieces for the home stretch of conference play in Easton Tumis and Hudson Hamilton.

Texas’ bullpen was lights out after Lummus exited, holding the Wildcats to zero runs on four hits with eight strikeouts. If they keep that up on a consistent basis, it bodes well for the end of the season.

Keep the ball rolling

Yes, winning a midweek game against a team you should beat is no barometer for success, especially at this point in the season. However, the win over ACU marked the Longhorns' third straight win after taking the final two games against Kansas State to win that series over the weekend. 

There won’t be much time to rest, though, as the Longhorns are right back at it on Thursday for a conference series against BYU. BYU currently finds themselves tied for last in the Big 12 with Houston, the team Texas takes on next weekend in conference play. A sweep would be huge and go a long way towards conference title hopes, but sending the Cougars packing with a series win is the bare minimum for the Longhorns. 

What’s next for Texas?

The Longhorns face a quick turnaround as they are back in action on Thursday evening, kicking off another conference series against the BYU Cougars at 6:30 p.m. CT.

Marco Mueller Expected to Head Italy’s Upcoming Taormina Film Festival (EXCLUSIVE)

Veteran film festivals curator and chief Marco Mueller , who over the past decades has headed both the Venice and Rome fests – among several other events – is operationally back in Italy where he is expected to be appointed artistic director of Sicily’s storied but troubled Taormina Film Festival .

Mueller, 70, did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Over the years he has amassed plenty of experience at Rotterdam, Locarno, Venice – where he had a positive 8-year run – Rome and, more recently China’s Pingyao fest and the new Asia-Europe Young Cinema Festival that ran in early January in Macau. He is based in Shanghai, China, and is expected to remain living there.

Mueller’s next challenge will be to assemble Taormina’s upcoming 70th edition this summer, probably in early July, with only a few months to secure titles.

Taormina, which is one of Italy’s oldest movie celebrations, has undergone many makeovers through the years as political turbulence often undermined the quality and continuity of its management.

Held since the mid-1950s in the Sicilian resort known to U.S. audiences as the location of “The White Lotus” Season Two, the storied summer fest boasts an 8,000-seat open-air ancient Greek amphitheater in the shadow of Sicily’s active Mt. Etna volcano. Guests have included Richard Burton, Elizabeth Taylor, Steven Spielberg, Federico Fellini, Pedro Almodovar and Tom Cruise.

Last year Taormina was run by Barrett Wissman, a Texan who for the past 20 years has been the chairman of IMG Artists, and who did his best to give the fest a boost. Wissman secured the Italian premiere of “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” with the main cast, including Harrison Ford and Phoebe Waller-Bridge, in tow.
