Our top 5 things to do in the United States

Our USA tour packages will show you all the iconic highlights plus the unexpected gems, from the streets of New York to the vast depths of the Grand Canyon.

Metropolitan Museum of Art

Known as ‘the Met’, the Metropolitan Museum of Art is the world’s third most-visited art museum and the biggest art museum in the United States. Founded in 1870, the Met houses over two million works, from antique weapons and ancient Egyptian art, to European sculptural masterpieces and contemporary American art.

Art Institute of Chicago

Founded in 1879 in Chicago’s Grant Park, the Art Institute of Chicago is one of the largest and oldest art museums in the United States. With a permanent collection of around 300,000 works, from Pablo Picasso’s The Old Guitarist to Grant Wood’s American Gothic, you can spend hours wandering the collections.

American Museum of Natural History

Located in Theodore Roosevelt Park across from Central Park in New York, the American Museum of Natural History is a massive display, with 45 exhibition halls, a planetarium and a library. The museum has over 33 million specimens, ranging from plants, animals, fossils and meteorites to human remains and cultural artefacts.

Literally the best thing I have ever seen. The whole band sounded so tight, the light show was insane and they really played to the audience. Two full sets of material plus an encore was probably more than any of us expected. They played so many songs that I wanted to hear, even some really old material which was so unexpected. The whole audience was buzzing with energy and love for a band that are so good, but really don't tour enough. I'd waited 10 years for a chance to see them and now that I have, I'd have waited another 10 if I knew it was going to be that perfect. It was a privilege to be in that room and witness something so beautiful.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

I saw these guys at the Subterranean in Chicago-- what an insane show. They electrified the crowd with non stop moshing, shoving, and stage diving, it was absolute madness. By the end of the gig I was utterly soaked with other peoples beer (theres always someone with a sloshing cup in a pit; why? just drink it!) and dripping with sweat. this show was epic, if you ever have the opportunity to see these guys you have to seize it-- they put on one hell of a show.

Mindblowing. Asskicking. No holds barred. Take no prisoners. These are the words that come to mind when I think about a Foals show. The first time I saw Foals was only after I had just listened to their song, "Spanish Sahara". Just that one song and my mind was made up. I needed to see them. Turns out that one song was merely a comma in the string of punctuations this band is capable of creating. That song is probably the tamest one they played, and I couldn't be more grateful. A strobe light show starts off their performance to the band members entering one by one. Then lead singer Yannis Phillippakis takes the stage, his signature black Travis Bean guitar in hand. He had a wireless setup for that guitar - a tipoff that I immediately recognized. This show was about to get insane. They ran through a few of their hits from their first album, "Mathletics", such as "Red Socks Pugie", and "Cassius". The crowd was in absolute hysterics. Ebbing and flowing with the music, people crowd surfing and ramming into each other. The song progressed into songs off their sophomore release, "Total Life Forever", where they played "Blue Blood", the aforementioned "Spanish Sahara", and the amped-up "Two Steps, Twice". Then mayhem. Yannis runs top speed and propels himself into the crowd (who were miraculously ready and caught him). All the while, Yannis continues playing his guitar. What happened next was a thing of beauty. Somehow, Yannis makes his way to the side of the venue and proceeds to climb up to the balcony level, and again, launches himself off into the crowd. In all my years, I've never seen someone with such a low fear of death or injury. Since this first performance I've seen Foals a number of times and they never disappoint. Even when they were added as a last minute addition to fill in for a band that canceled for Governor's Ball 2013, they managed to win over everyone at the festival, some saying they were the highlight of the entire event. Easily one of the best live acts I have ever had the pleasure of seeing. Without a doubt, I have never danced, jumped, and sweat so much than when I am at a Foals show. Do yourself a favor, drop any plans you might have and go see Foals. Well worth it.

Tyler, The Creator

I have been a fan of Tyler for a long time, as well as the whole group of OFWGKTA, and seeing him live was something I had on my bucket list. I went in with high expectations for his show, already knowing of how much energy and enthusiasm he puts into his live performances. What I got at The Forum went above and beyond anything I could have hoped for. The crowd was amazing, knowing every song and shouting and yelling along with unrivaled amounts of energy. Tyler was just as, or even more, energetic and knew how to work the crowd perfectly by interaction, be it between moments talking about random things or talking about his music and singing. I was blown away by the fact that at least twice he called to stop the song just to start it again because he loved how into it the crowd was and wanted to see it again. Of course we, the crowd, loved it and drained our lungs out with every lyric. I've seen the Arctic Monkeys, Sleigh Bells, Banks, Pendulum, Wolf Alice and others and can honestly say Tyler was the best overall. Everyone exited the venue with shirts soaked in sweat and with cracking voices, with grins on their face from having experienced something they'd never forget. If you like Tyler, or by extension OFWGKTA, you have to see him live if you get the opportunity, you can never anticipate how godly his live performances will be. I will definitely be waiting for his next visit to see him again.

Absolutely incredible!! Khalid was only my second concert ever and it has inspired me to see as many as I can. It felt like every song was played at 250% and it sounded incredible. The band was phenomenal and I could really feel the music. The crowd was happy and everyone was having a good time. I'd see him again if I could.

Absolutely incredible! The music sounded amazing live, not like anything I've heard before. Jónsi Birgisson's voice is incredible live also, even earning applause from the crowd for the length of some of the notes he pulled off. The visuals were stunning. The lights and background of the stage were beautiful. Overall a wonderful experience and will absolutely be seeing them again if I get the opportunity!

Who are they, exactly? Well, according to our members, that changes almost by the hour...so let's talk about how Songkick keeps you in the loop.

Best live artists

A quick glance at our Most Popular Artists chart might tell you a few key things about the sorts of music fans we vibe with. For starters, it shows just how varied our members' tastes are. Pop, rock, dance, hip-hop, indie/alt and R&B all feature heavily, alongside a whole bunch of underground genres and rising scenes.

Maroon 5, Beyoncé, The Midnight, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Taylor Swift, Calvin Harris, Imagine Dragons, Justin Bieber - and that's barely looking outside the top 20.

After all, if the weekly race for a spot on our most popular charts tells us anything, it's that the whole concept of 'best live bands' is a tricky one to pin down. Everybody's looking for a completely different type of experience, every night of the year.

That's another thing we love about our users: you're incredible at keeping us on our toes. In return, we’ve made it our mission to help keep you on yours.

The 15 Best Tour Operators in 2022

These are the companies Travel + Leisure readers trust to provide them with travel expertise and memorable experiences.

biggest us tour

Note: If you’re looking for our most recent recommendations, check out the 2023 list of our favorite tour operators .

When it comes to an itinerary, Travel + Leisure readers want more than a string of photo opportunities — and the right tour operator makes all the difference in creating a trip of a lifetime versus one that simply checks off a list of sights. This year, our readers were especially drawn to companies that utilize local expertise and experience to thoughtfully design trips that will entertain as well as inspire.

Every year for our World's Best Awards survey , T+L asks readers to weigh in on travel experiences around the globe — to share their opinions on the top hotels, resorts, cities, islands, cruise ships, spas, airlines, and more. Readers rated tour operators and safari outfitters based on their staff and guides, itineraries and destinations, activities, accommodations, food, and overall value.

The top picks were noted for their deep knowledge of destinations and guides who "go the extra mile." One reader who has been traveling for more than five decades said a trip with Classic Journeys (No. 2) was the "very best" they had experienced. Others noted attention to pandemic safety details, while one who went to Norway was charmed by a "wonderful surprise dinner in Bergen out on the water that was fantastic."

Tour operators that seamlessly navigated the logistics of a trip also came out on top. Quasar Expeditions (No. 9) was noted "for really planning out every detail" so that "all you have to do is show up and have a great time." Meanwhile, of TCS World Travel (No. 10), a guest said: "You never lift a finger and just spend your time actually exploring the destination." They even added that they "learned so much" along the way.

Among the five companies on this year's list that weren't on last year's were two women-only tour operators that cater to travelers of all ages. AdventureWomen (No. 14) has multiday tours designed by women from Bhutan to Yellowstone National Park, while Explorer Chick (No. 15) has everything from day trips — like glassblowing in Baltimore and cave rappelling in St. Louis — to full itineraries in Machu Picchu and the Galápagos. One reader said her Everest Base Camp trip with AdventureWomen was filled with "like-minded women" who "bonded so well," while another said she felt it was a "safe tour group for women."

No matter which tour they chose, readers were most taken by the people they met along the way, as one said of Trek Travel (No. 13): "By the end of the trip, a group of strangers felt like longtime friends." Find out which other companies round out the list of the best tour operators below.

1. DuVine Cycling + Adventure Co.

A tour with DuVine goes far beyond just riding a bike — it's a way to really see the character of a destination. Case in point: even those who say they're not necessarily cycling fans have been converted. That's part of what helped the tour operator — which runs trips in Europe, the U.S., Latin America, and Africa — skyrocket from No. 14 last year to this year's top spot. Its "top-notch biking equipment" and "challenging but doable itineraries" didn't hurt either. One reader was especially taken by a guide picking figs off of a local tree in Puglia for an extra energy boost during a tough climb, as well as another guide singing to the group after dinner. As another reader put it simply: "They exceed your expectations."

25 Top Tourist Attractions in the USA

By Mike Kaplan · Last updated on April 3, 2024

As one of the largest and most diverse countries in the world, The United States boast an amazing amount of tourist destinations ranging from the skyscrapers of New York and Chicago, the natural wonders of Yellowstone and Alaska to the sunny beaches of California , Florida and Hawaii.

With so many tourist attractions in the USA it’s tempting to list entire cities or even states, but in this top 25 I have tried to focus on specific attractions.

25. Mount Rushmore [SEE MAP]

Mount Rushmore

Perhaps the most unmistakably American landmark is Mount Rushmore, a national memorial located in South Dakota. Constructed in the early 20th century, Mount Rushmore depicts the faces of four former American presidents, each of which is carved and blasted from the side of a rock face.

Visitors can admire the larger-than-life faces of Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt. The short Presidential Trail at the base of Mount Rushmore provides better views and an interesting perspective on the landmark.

24. Pike Place Market in Seattle [SEE MAP]

Pike Place Market

Overlooking the waterfront of Elliott Bay in Seattle, Washington, is the Pike Place Market. Opened in 1907, the market is now a historic, iconic part of the city. Pike Place Market is the ultimate place to shop in Seattle, because it is full of the oldest establishments in the region.

There are markets where fresh fish straight from the Puget Sound gets tossed dramatically, cheesemongers who offer tastings of locally made brie and camembert and then there is the site of the original Starbucks coffee shop.

23. Venice Beach in Los Angeles [SEE MAP]

Venice Beach

No visit to Los Angeles is complete without a trip to Venice Beach. Its canals and beaches are spectacular, but the biggest hit is undeniably the Venice Beach Boardwalk. This is a truly entertaining spot where street performers juggle, dance, sculpt and sing for passersby.

Shop for souvenirs, grab a refreshing drink and bring some small bills for a stroll on the boardwalk. After stopping to admire a live performer, many visitors tip a dollar or two to show appreciation.

22. Mesa Verde [SEE MAP]

Mesa Verde

The Mesa Verde National Park in Colorado is home to the preserved homes of the Ancestral Pueblo people. Many of these homes, which are carved right from caves and rock faces, date back to the early 13th century.

Today, it is possible to walk beneath the overhanging cliffs and tour these ancient abodes. The Balcony House is especially well preserved, and it boasts 40 rooms that are accessible exclusively by ladder. The nearby Cliff Palace is even bigger, and it is believed to have housed more than 100 people in its 150 original rooms.

21. Faneuil Hall in Boston [SEE MAP]

Faneuil Hall

One of the most historic destinations in Boston, a city already full of heritage, is Faneuil Hall Marketplace. Also known as the Cradle of Liberty, this early 18th century structure served as a space where early leaders gathered to fight against oppression in the years before and during the American Revolutionary War.

Today, touring Faneuil Hall Marketplace means lots of opportunity to shop for local produce and desserts in the indoor and outdoor marketplace.

20. Kennedy Space Center [SEE MAP]

Kennedy Space Center

Cape Canaveral, located on the coast of Florida, boasts a lot of space-related attractions. One of the best is the Kennedy Space Center, which has been the launch site for every US human space flight since 1968 and currently operates as a launch site for unmanned rockets.

Visitors can learn more about the early pioneers into space, and they can also experience the tension and excitement over the rush to the moon. There is even the chance to participate in the Shuttle Launch Experience, which replicates the experience of space travel.

19. Navy Pier in Chicago [SEE MAP]

Navy Pier

Extending over the waters of Lake Michigan is Navy Pier, an enormous pier in the heart of Chicago’s coastal Streeterville neighborhood. Within the pier, there are countless attractions suited to the whole family.

Beautifully manicured gardens are the ideal place for a scenic stroll, and lots of souvenir shops are a wonderful way to snag gifts on a vacation to Chicago. The pier is also home to the Chicago Children’s Museum, two theaters and an abundance of excellent restaurants.

18. Great Smoky Mountains National Park [SEE MAP]

Great Smoky Mountains National Park

Straddling the border between Tennessee and North Carolina is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The park is the most visited in the entire country, thanks in large part to its enormous size and its incredible scenery.

Visitors can hike through old growth forest, spot hundreds of species of birds and check out the two visitor centers. Hikes can also wind through trails that lead to the waterfalls of Laurel Falls and the vistas of Clingman’s Dome.

17. River Walk in San Antonio [SEE MAP]

River Walk

In the city of San Antonio, Texas , there are few attractions more appealing than the River Walk. Also known as the Paseo del Rio, the River Walk is a network of walkways lining the San Antonio River.

The largest single cave chamber in all of North America is found here and is known as the Big Room. Within the room itself, visitors can set off on a 90-minute walk exploring the incredible underground environment.

15. Bryce Canyon National Park [SEE MAP]

Bryce Canyon National Park

Located in Southern Utah, Bryce Canyon National Park is a breathtaking display of rock formations. Technically, Bryce Canyon isn’t a canyon, but a series of natural amphitheaters. Mormon settlers once called the canyon home, but now most visitors come for the awe-inspiring views and the magnificent hiking opportunities.

Sunset Point is one of the most popular vantage points, offering panoramic views of the red, yellow and orange rock formations. Queen’s Garden Trail is another favorite, because it offers green trees among the red rocks for a brilliant juxtaposition.

14. French Quarter in New Orleans [SEE MAP]

French Quarter

New Orleans, Louisiana, is made up of several unique districts, but none is so famous as the French Quarter. Also known as the Vieux Carre, the French Quarter truly explores the rich French colonial influences on the city of New Orleans . Incredible architecture abounds, with the St. Louis Cathedral being the main attraction.

The French Quarter boasts the Moon Walk, a paved walkway next to the Mississippi River, as well as Bourbon Street, the undeniable hub of nightlife, drinking and entertainment in the city.

13. Sedona Red Rock Country [SEE MAP]

Sedona Red Rock Country

A two-hour drive north of Phoenix is Sedona, Arizona. Sedona isn’t a big city, but it is a major tourist attraction in the USA thanks to its gorgeous red rock landscape. Known as Red Rock Country, this region is an outdoor lover’s dream. Countless canyons, creeks and paths encourage outdoor activity, with Cathedral Rock Trail being one of the local favorite hiking spots.

One of the most interesting spots in Sedona combines the new with the old, with the contemporary Chapel of the Holy Cross built right into the side of the red rocks themselves.

12. Walt Disney World in Orlando [SEE MAP]

Walt Disney World

Orlando, Florida , is a hub of amusement parks, but none is so popular as Walt Disney World. Many travelers don’t realize that Walt Disney World is actually made up of several distinct theme parks, including the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom and the Blizzard Beach Water Park.

Visitors will be able to enjoy thrill rides, watch Broadway-quality shows and explore the nightlife, cuisine, shopping and entertainment at Disney Springs.

In the Sierra Nevada Mountains of California, there is Yosemite National Park. This extraordinary destination is known the world over for its amazing scenery. Within this single park, visitors can peer off spectacular granite cliffs, admire clear waterfalls and see sequoia trees that are hundreds of years old.

Yosemite Valley is a top spot to explore in the park, because it boasts the enormous Yosemite Falls as well as the granite monolith called Half Dome.

10. White House in Washington D.C. [SEE MAP]

White House

The White House in Washington DC is the official residence and office of the President of the United States. It was built between 1792 and 1800 and first used by President John Adams.

I’ve been to almost all of these. HANDS DOWN Grand Canyon- Bryce-Tetons- Yellowstone-Glacier is the most amazing trip. I’ve been all over the world, and Yellowstone’s wildlife and the view at the Grand Canyon are by far the most epic. I love Washington State as well: Mt. Ranier, Seattle, Olympic and the anitoles- you can see a variety in a small distance.

You should have included the historic triangle in Virginia. It includes Williamsburg (Colonial Williamsburg) Jamestown (America’s first settlement) & Yorktown (the site of Cornwallis’ surrender, effectively ending the Revolutionary War) it is literally the birth place of this great nation and is a huge tourist destination.

Nice article, but may I make one correction regarding Pike Place Market? As a local tour guide, it bugs me when people tell our visitors that the Starbucks at the market is the original. It isn’t, and I try to set this myth straight every chance I get. The original Starbucks was on Western Ave., and burned down in the 70s. The original owner and team moved to the present location at the market, which is how they get away with calling it original, but in reality, it is misleading the public.

I have been very lucky myself to have visited most of these places. One of my main reasons why I love America (USA) is because of the diversity the country has to offer in terms of landscapes e.g. countryside, deserts, mountains ect. Out of the above Yellowstone and Vegas are my favourites. Niagara Falls was an sight I will never forget – waking up each morning and opening my hotel room curtains to see the falls directly below….breathtaking.

I can say that I have been very fortunate to have visited all but one of these tourist attractions. (Alaska being the only one) Visiting Alcatraz and seeing the Golden Gate was interesting, along with watching the Geysers in Yellowstone. I live in NY (15 minutes from Niagara Falls and an easy drive to NYC) so those don’t interest me as much but after driving cross country in my early twenties, I have realized just what a beautiful country we live in. I now have three children and make it a point to travel with them. Each child gets a surprise birthday trip every year and it has proved to be not only memorable but also educational. My 11 year old has been many places, in and out of the U.S. and now is starting to understand the value of travel. Great site! 🙂

Manhattan: “… stagger around a museum”… you have you never lied. I recently visited New York, and a friend of mine and I visited the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Our initial plan was to try and see if we could make it through that one and the American Museum of Natural History. After a good 7 hours in the Met, we ended up taking a taxi to Penn Station, and slept our way back on the train to Long Island. I will say, however the exhaustion was worth it.

Fabulous photos of places to visit in the US. I have been very lucky to visit Vegas, and to have flown over the Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon. Over the page you have photos of Alaska and Denali National Park which I plan to visit next year. When I see those photos I can hardly wait. Thanks great post.

Western USA National Parks Loop Tour

Western USA National Parks Loop

One of the best group trips I have ever been on. Rene was absolutely fantastic! Zion national park, Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon are absolutely amazing places to visit. Photos can not do justice to the sheer magnificent beauty. Our group was amazing, friendly, fun, always on time and ages 30s-60s. The accommodations were sufficient and the hikes were manageable even for someone like myself who is not the most physically fit. I would suggest arriving a day or 2 early in Vegas or staying the night you return to get the most out of the experience. The Hoover dam is not included but there are short day trips from Vegas that cover this area which is definitely worthwhile. The days were long but there was sufficient rest at night to cope with some of the early morning wake up times. Which was WELL worth it!! Seeing the Grand Canyon at sunset was a sight I will never forget. If I can give 10 stars I would. This was my first intrepid trip and I have to say it won’t be the last. Even though we were unable to kayak lake Powell because time of year, we saw antelope canyon which was quite spectacular. Monument valley was also an experience to remember. If you have the opportunity to go, do it! You won’t regret one minute!

Tim was a great tour guide. He was knowledgeable, helpful, and always upbeat. Time with the wildlife expert was phenomenal. the tour itself was excellent. The good ranking has to do with communications from Intrepid Travel, which were poor and lead to changed air flights and other headaches.

Alaska Kenai Adventure 9 Days Tour

Alaska Kenai Adventure 9 Days

A magical, life-changing trip. I'd wanted to visit Alaska for as long as I can remember, and I'm so glad I got to experience it for the first time with Infinite Adventures! From seeing orcas to hiking alongside glaciers, and telling stories around the campfire while the sun still shines at 11pm, this was an adventure I'll never forget. And I can't wait to go back! Dave and Carolina were the perfect guides. Fun, passionate, kind, highly knowledgable and skilled at spotting wildlife, attuned to everyone's needs, and just the right amount of "tough love" (from Dave, anyway!) to push you outside your comfort zone. From day one, they made me feel right at home and built camaraderie among our group so that we all felt like lifelong friends by the end. (Natalie wasn't on our trip but I spoke to her a lot via email and she was also fantastic, very informative and prompt about answering all my questions.) Despite traveling on a literal tour bus with guides, my experience with Infinite Adventures didn't feel commercial or tourist-y. You're sleeping in a tent, pitching in with chores around the campsite, using the occasional pit toilet, and there's no slowing down even if it's cold or rainy! (Of course Dave and Carolina would change plans if the weather makes something unsafe, but "inconvenient" doesn't influence their itinerary.) There are group activities each day, but you'll also have plenty of opportunities to explore on your own and try local restaurants/cafes/bars in Seward, Homer, and Hope. One highlight is the Adventure Camp across the bay from Homer, a private "tent and breakfast" run by Dave's friends who cook delicious meals and provide a charming atmosphere to take a hot shower and relax after a long day kayaking. You'll probably see a ton of wildlife, too. We saw orcas (specifically transients, which are rarer than other types of orcas), humpbacks, sea otters, Stellar sea lions, seals, puffins, TONS of bald eagles, golden eagles, moose, marmots, black bears, and probably more I'm forgetting. Not to mention all the gorgeous trees and wildflowers everywhere. Alaska is simply breathtaking. And Infinite Adventures is for everyone! Our group ranged in age from 18 to mid-70s, all fitness levels, a mix of single folks like myself, couples, and a father and daughter, and about half our group were from overseas. As long as you're open to trying new things and don't mind getting a little dirty, you'll have an incredible time with Dave and Carolina. So if you've read all the way to the end of my review... what are you waiting for? Book this trip!

Matthew (CEO) was great. As issues/challenges arose (which they inevitably do) Matthew addressed them, and provided options/alternatives, which he presented to the group and the group came to a consensus. A suggestion for Management/Tour Operator, The "meeting" with a Native American who was to talk about his/her Native American culture, should be given "guardrails" and stay within their "Lane". There are those who do not share the presenter's same political viewpoint as the presenter and the presenter should respect that his/her audience may have differing political viewpoint(s) and stay away from brining politics into their presentation. Again Matthew (CEO) was a great ambassador for the Tour Operator and we would definitely take another tour/trip with Matthew!

See inside Oheka Castle, the 127-room Long Island estate that inspired 'The Great Gatsby'

  • I took a tour of Long Island's Oheka Castle, an hour east of Manhattan.
  • It's the second-largest private home in the US and was built in 1919.
  • It's now a residence, hotel, restaurant, and events venue.

Insider Today

If you've ever read or seen "The Great Gatsby," you know 1920s New York was home to extravagant mansions with owners who hosted lavish parties.

One of those owners was financier Otto Hermann Kahn, who built Oheka Castle — named after its owner (Oh-He-Ka) — on Long Island in 1919.

Kahn's wife used to call the home "Otto's zoo," and that seemed to be an accurate description. A-listers of the time used to party at the 109,000-square-foot home, with Kahn as a Gatsby-like figure entertaining all his guests.

But Oheka's journey didn't end there. After Kahn's death in 1934, the property changed hands numerous times until it was abandoned in the '80s. Fires, vandalism, and theft devastated it.

According to Oheka Castle , land developer Gary Melius then purchased the estate and spent $40 million restoring it to its former glory.

Today, it's the second-largest private home in the US, behind only Biltmore House in North Carolina. It's a popular venue for weddings, a restaurant, and a hotel, and has been featured in movies, TV shows, and music videos. Taylor Swift even filmed the "Blank Space" video there.

You can also tour the grounds for $30.

I took the tour and was astonished by the beauty of Oheka Castle. Here's what it was like to visit.

Oheka Castle was built in 1919 by German-American financier Otto Hermann Kahn.

biggest us tour

He paid approximately $11 million, or over $158 million in today's currency, for 443 acres of land in West Hills, New York.

biggest us tour

Oheka Castle has been through a lot in its 100-plus years of history, and for anyone who wants to learn more, there are tours offered twice daily.

biggest us tour

So, I decided to visit. All I knew about Oheka was that Kevin Jonas got married there and Taylor Swift filmed the "Blank Space" music video there.

biggest us tour

But Oheka has a rich history. I learned all about it on a beautiful April afternoon.

biggest us tour

When you drive to the entryway, it's a bit intimidating. There's someone working the gate who must let you in.

biggest us tour

Then comes a long driveway. I felt like I was going back in time to the Gilded Age.

biggest us tour

My first look at the main house was astounding — and yes, I mean house. Oheka Castle is the second-largest private residence in the US.

biggest us tour

It's also on the National Register of Historic Places. It was added in September 2004.

biggest us tour

When Kahn built this house, he had three requirements: He wanted to be high up, he wanted a view of the water, and he needed the house to be fireproof.

biggest us tour

His previous house in New Jersey had burned down in a fire. Oheka, in contrast, is built entirely out of stone.

biggest us tour

I went inside and waited in front of a grand staircase with the rest of my group for our tour to begin.

biggest us tour

When it began, we saw photos of what the house looked like before it was restored by its current owner. We'd learn more about this later.

biggest us tour

The first room we entered was this beautiful entryway with a mural of the sky on the ceiling.

biggest us tour

The house itself is 109,000 square feet and has 127 rooms.

biggest us tour

Many of the rooms are dedicated to showing off the home's history, like the Chaplin Room.

biggest us tour

Charlie Chaplin was just one of the many '20s A-listers who hung out at Oheka. This photo shows Chaplin (right) with Kahn (center) and actor Douglas Fairbanks (left).

biggest us tour

In fact, according to my tour guide, Jay Gatsby's wild parties in "The Great Gatsby" were inspired by what was going down at Oheka in the '20s.

biggest us tour

This was Kahn's wife Adelaide's favorite room. Adelaide wasn't as big of an entertainer as her husband, but this sunny room was perfect for guests.

biggest us tour

This ballroom is the only room that's not original to Kahn's time inside Oheka today.

biggest us tour

But as you can see from the ballroom's windows, Oheka met Kahn's requirement for a view of the water. He used to dock his yacht there.

biggest us tour

Kahn, who was Jewish, also built a golf course on his property — country clubs at the time wouldn't admit Jewish people or allow them to play.

biggest us tour

After Kahn's death in 1934, the property was shuffled between owners. From 1948 to 1979, it was the Eastern Military Academy.

biggest us tour

During those days, what is now the breakfast room was used as a gym.

biggest us tour

From that room, we made our way to this huge library.

biggest us tour

A portrait of Kahn hung above the fireplace.

biggest us tour

Our final stop on the first floor was this room, which also houses a bar. Press clippings about Oheka adorned the walls.

biggest us tour

Among the displayed articles was Danielle and Kevin Jonas' wedding spread in People. They got married at the estate in 2009.

biggest us tour

Then we went upstairs to check out the hotel and bridal suite.

biggest us tour

The bridal suite, which is on the fourth floor, opens with this mural-covered entryway.

biggest us tour

A beautiful open room with windows allows wedding parties to take in the view of Oheka's well-manicured grounds.

biggest us tour

The gardens at Oheka are breathtaking from above.

biggest us tour

Here's the main bedroom of the bridal suite.

biggest us tour

The primary bathroom has a bathtub and shower.

biggest us tour

Then it was time to check out the gardens — and to learn what happened to Oheka.

biggest us tour

When the Eastern Military Academy went bankrupt and vacated its premises in 1979, Oheka was left abandoned.

biggest us tour

Residents who lived nearby were concerned about vandalism. One neighbor even took this statue for safekeeping and returned it when Oheka was restored in the '80s.

biggest us tour

Land developer Gary Melius purchased Oheka in 1984 and spent $40 million restoring it to its former glory.

biggest us tour

The gardens were originally designed by the Olmsted Brothers, best known for helping with Central Park.

biggest us tour

Melius used those original sketches to restore Oheka.

biggest us tour

These statues were tracked down at an auction and are thought to date back to the Renaissance.

biggest us tour

Now, it's a beautiful wedding venue, hotel, restaurant, and home — Melius keeps an apartment on the third floor.

biggest us tour

As I left the grounds, I got one more look at the restaurant and its courtyard.

biggest us tour

I would highly recommend taking a tour of Oheka. As I viewed its stunning surroundings and learned about its unique history, I felt like I was traveling back in time.

PGA Championship 2024 props, golf odds: Expert reveals top PGA Tour prop bets, parlay picks for Valhalla

S ince his miraculous victory at the 2019 Masters, Tiger Woods has completed just five of the 11 majors he's taken part in. His best finish over that stretch is a tie for 21st place, and a top-20 finish for Woods in this week's 2024 PGA Championship has +750 odds, which is not far off from Wyndham Clark's +800 PGA Championship odds to notch a top-five finish. Valhalla Golf Club hosts the year's second major, and Woods has a victory (2000) and a missed cut (2014) in his two previous PGA Championship starts at this course. Is this one of the 2024 PGA Championship props worth taking a chance on? Before locking in your 2024 PGA Championship prop picks or entering PGA Championship picks, you need to see what SportsLine DFS pro and PGA expert Mike McClure has to say .

McClure is a DFS legend with over $2 million in career winnings, and he's been red-hot on his PGA picks dating back to the PGA Tour restart in June of 2020. McClure uses his proprietary simulation model to analyze the field and crush his golf picks. He is up almost $9,000 on his best bets since the restart.

McClure's model predicted Scottie Scheffler would finish on top of the leaderboard at the 2024 Masters, the Arnold Palmer Invitational and The Players Championship this season. McClure also included Hideki Matsuyama in his best bets to win the 2024 Genesis Invitational. That bet hit at +9000, and for the entire tournament, McClure's best bets returned nearly $1,000.

The model also predicted Jon Rahm would be victorious at the 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions and The American Express. At the 2023 Masters, the model was all over Rahm's second career major victory heading into the weekend. Rahm was two strokes off the lead heading into the third round, but the model still projected him as the winner. It was the second straight Masters win for the model, which also nailed Scheffler winning in 2022.

In addition, McClure's best bets included Nick Taylor (70-1) winning the 2023 RBC Canadian Open, Jason Day (17-1) winning outright at the 2023 AT&T Byron Nelson, and Rickie Fowler (14-1) finishing on top of the leaderboard at the 2023 Rocket Mortgage Classic. This same model has also nailed a whopping 11 majors entering the weekend. Anyone who has followed McClure's picks has seen massive returns.

Now, McClure has dialed in on the PGA Championship golf tournament and just locked in his top prop picks and PGA predictions. You can only see McClure's PGA Championship 2024 prop picks at SportsLine .

Top 2024 PGA Championship prop picks

We can tell you that one of McClure's favorite PGA Championship prop picks is that Tony Finau has a better finish than Sam Burns at +100 odds. These two have combined for 11 PGA Tour victories but zero majors, however, Finau has been discernibly better at major tournaments than Burns. Finau has 13 top 25s across 31 major starts (41.9% of starts), while Burns has a single top 25 across 15 major appearances (6.7%).

Over the last six major championships, Burns didn't finish better than Finau in any of them. They had the same finish in two of the six, with Finau having a better finish in the other four. Additionally, Finau has just one missed cut over his last 18 PGA Tour starts, while Burns has two missed cuts over his last four tournaments. With the long game being a critical component to success at Valhalla, and with Finau ranking in the top 15 in both strokes gained: tee-to-green and strokes gained: approach the green, he's a much better bet than Burns, who ranks outside the top 50 in both metrics.  You can see who else to back at SportsLine .

How to make PGA Championship 2024 prop picks

McClure has also locked in a slew of other prop bets for the 2024 PGA Championship, including one that pays over 40-1 for a three-leg parlay. You can find out what it is, and check out all of McClure's PGA Championship prop picks at SportsLine .

Who wins the PGA Championship 2024, and which golf parlay should you target for over a 40-1 payout? Visit SportsLine now to get Mike McClure's PGA Championship 2024 prop picks, all from the golf expert who is up almost $9,000 on his best bets since 2020 , and find out.

Sleeper Picks: PGA Championship

Sleeper Picks

Change Text Size

Jason Day (+5500) … Because the PGA Championship is a major, it’s a timely reminder that Sleeper is a relative term. The 36-year-old has 13 PGA TOUR victories, including the 2015 edition of this tournament, so he’s not sneaking up on anyone. However, amid the heavyweights much shorter on the board, he stands out as overlooked, which always is good for us. Like Rory McIlroy, who arrives with wins in his last two starts, just as he had in advance of winning the 2014 PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club (Day finished T15 that week), the Aussie is proven to ride the groove of the inside lane. His 2015 PGA Championship title was one of four wins spanning six starts at the time. This time, he’s fresh off a T4 at the Wells Fargo Championship where vintage touch around and on greens was on display.

Viktor Hovland (+650) … Certainly, targeting talent on the upswing is one pathway to this payoff; it’s happened three times this year. Another is leaning into a top talent who’s lost his way but still isn’t very far from the main drag. It’s within that speculative subset where we find the 26-year-old and most recent FedExCup champion. Golf happens and he’s getting a large dose of it this year. Perhaps his smartest decision thus far was sitting out three weeks after missing the cut at the Masters. After a pressure-laden stretch to open the year, it gave him time to reflect, rest, reset and return for the Wells Fargo Championship. A T24 isn’t especially impressive, but it’s better than a feared alternative. Even better, the ball-striker did what he does best in ranking T9 in greens in regulation (11 per round on average) and leading the field in proximity to the hole. That affirmation can fuel confidence, which is exactly what he needs right now. He also has two top fives in majors, including a career-best T2 in last year’s PGA Championship.

Corey Conners (+600) … It’s hard to believe that he’s gone 15 straight starts without a top 10. And given that he’s cashed in 20 in a row, you’d think that the golf gods would’ve tossed one his way across that stretch. That said, he checked up just one shot outside the bubble in his last two. En route to a T13 at the Wells Fargo Championship, the Canadian hosted his usual clinic from tee to green. So, an extension of the norm as the field endures the open-book exam on the putting surfaces sets him up as a front-runner.

Chris Kirk (+400) … He’s one of the 34 in the field who competed at Valhalla in 2014. While that experience isn’t nothing, the greens will present as unfamiliar to the masses. When this happens, ball-strikers step forward as having an edge as all learn the nuances of the ball on the ground nearest the hole. He’s among that contingent as well. Classically tidy form has him positioned at ninth in the FedExCup with a season-opening victory at The Sentry punctuating four top 20s, two of which in his last three starts, including a career-best T16 at the Masters.

Mark Hubbard (+250) … With the slightest of differences in the kickbacks among a host of tantalizing options on this board, let’s ride with one of the longest. He’s cashed in all 13 of his starts this season, seven of which resulted in a top 40, including his second straight at THE PLAYERS Championship. Yes, the PGA Championship is a major but it feels the closest to a non-major that the PGA TOUR hosts, so that’s baked into the faith. Valhalla won’t be brutal, but even if it is, his balanced bag is what anyone competing would want. Never the longest hitter but still T6 on the PGA TOUR in par-5 scoring.

2024 PGA Championship expert picks, odds: Jon Rahm, Ludvig Aberg and Wyndham Clark among best bets

SINGAPORE, SINGAPORE - MAY 05: Jon Rahm of Legion XIII walks on the eighth hole during day three of the LIV Golf Invitational - Singapore at Sentosa Golf Club on May 05, 2024 in Singapore, Singapore. (Photo by Lionel Ng/Getty Images)

The 2024 PGA Championship is shaping up to be a showdown between Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy and Brooks Koepka. All three are coming to Valhalla Golf Club off the back of impressive wins.

Scheffler made a surprise start at the RBC Heritage after winning the 2024 Masters and once again classed the field on the way to his fourth win in five starts. He has taken some time off the last few weeks to be there for his wife and newborn child.

McIlroy was in the news for multiple reasons over the last few weeks. He won the Zurich Classic alongside Shane Lowry and then won the Wells Fargo Championship for the fourth time in dominant fashion.

Koepka has the most major championships out of the three after winning his fifth major championship at last year’s PGA Championship and comes into this week after winning on the LIV Golf Tour in Singapore.

Valhalla Golf Club is a huge golf complex on the outskirts of Louisville, Ky. Jack Nicklaus designed this golf course to reward the best ball strikers in the world. This is not a golf course that can be played along the ground. Players need to drive it long and accurately while also dialing long iron shots into small greens. The only place that Valhalla gives the players a bit of a break is on the greens where the undulations are understated. The breaks are more subtle, but the speed is still up there with the fastest the players will see this year.

The list of major champions and senior major champions at Valhalla looks like a list of the best ball strikers in golf. Mark Brooks bested Kenny Perry in 1996 in a playoff after Phil Mickelson slept on a three-shot lead going into the weekend. Tiger Woods needed a birdie putt on 18 to send the 2000 PGA Championship to a three-hole playoff against Bob May. Woods prevailed. McIlroy defeated Rickie Fowler and Mickelson in 2014 while battling darkness and very odd circumstances at the end of the final round. Two of the best ball strikers that the PGA Tour has ever seen, Hale Irwin and Tom Watson, won Senior PGA Championships on this golf course.

My model for this week will be going off of strokes-gained weighted statistics. That way my model won’t accidentally spit out senior or small tour players at the top of the model. We can scratch off at least 35 to 40 players before we even begin whittling down who we want to focus on this week. Former champions who are now seniors and PGA teaching professionals are easy to cut out of the potential player pool. With what’s left my model will focus on driving distance, driving accuracy, strokes gained on approach and strokes gained around the green. I may include some distance buckets as I go over the new approach shot distances after over 150 yards was added to the golf course, but it won’t be weighted heavily.

Course Information

Course: Valhalla Golf Club (Louisville, Ky.)

Designed by: Jack Nicklaus

Yardage: 7,609 yards

Average green size: 5,000 square feet

Features: Valhalla hosted its first PGA Championship in 1996. The PGA of America bought a 25 percent stake in the club after that tournament and got an almost immediate bang for its buck when Tiger won the 2000 PGA Championship as his third straight major championship win on the way to his “Tiger slam” from 2000 to 2001.

The course features two different creeks that come into play on seven of the holes and 62 bunkers are positioned along the sides of the fairways and guarding some greens. The tees and fairways feature zoysia grass which should see them playing harder and faster than the course played during the 2014 PGA Championship. The greens are smaller than average.

Betting slip

Ludvig Å berg +1800 didn’t tee it up at the Wells Fargo Championship and the official announcement was a sore knee. He has gained more than 15.5 strokes on approach combined in his last four tournaments. He has gained 2.8 or more strokes off the tee in five straight tournaments. He placed second at Pebble Beach, which is one of two courses that feature smaller greens than Valhalla. Å berg has been the third or fourth best golfer on the planet since he turned professional. He has only one major championship start and he finished second to Scheffler.

Jon Rahm +2000 gets a bit of a pass for his mediocre performance at the Masters. Rahm’s play on the LIV Golf Tour has been excellent and probably would include a few more wins if they played four rounds. Rahm comes into this week third in the field in strokes gained off the tee and in strokes gained from tee to green over his last 36 rounds. He is still hitting 75 percent of his greens in regulation.

Wyndham Clark +4000 probably put too much pressure on himself at the Masters when he took a dig at the LIV golfers before he blew up on Friday. Clark has been really good in spots this season, but hasn’t been quite as sharp since he suffered a back injury. His short game let him down last week after he was in contention at the RBC Heritage. He hasn’t performed well at a PGA Championship yet, but this golf course will fit his game. He won at Pebble Beach and finished T3 at the RBC Heritage, which both feature small greens.

Byeong Hun An +7000 has gained strokes off the tee in five straight tournaments. He’s coming off of back-to-back top-four finishes and looks as locked in as I have ever seen him. He has gained more than 10 strokes combined putting over his last two tournaments.

Si Woo Kim +12000 has gained strokes off the tee in every tournament since the Open Championship in July 2023. He has gained more than 11 strokes combined in his last two tournaments. He has gained strokes around the green in seven straight tournaments. Kim is the ultimate no-putt candidate this week. He lost more than 5 strokes putting at the Wells Fargo Championship and still managed to finish T16.

Scottie Scheffler $13,200 has won four of his last five starts and is first in the field in strokes gained from tee to green, second in strokes gained on approach, and second in strokes gained around the green. His entire game is built to win major championships and there is no reason not to use him at this high price with some of the lower-price values we can find.

Rory McIlroy $12,000 had his price set before he dominated the field at the Wells Fargo Championship on Sunday. He comes to the course where he won his fourth major championship almost 10 years ago in his best possible form. I will play Scheffler more than McIlroy, but I wouldn’t argue if you chose to save the $1,200 and ride with McIlroy.

Jon Rahm $11,400 See above.

Xander Schauffele $10,900 has one top 10 finish in his last five PGA Championships. I have been fooled by backing Schauffele at these tournaments. His price is too low for his current ball-striking form. He should be priced at $11,500 if the Wells Fargo Championship was factored in. The problem becomes do you trust him not to fumble it away on Sunday when you have a five-time major winner priced right behind him coming in off a win?

Brooks Koepka $10,800 placed top 15 here back in 2014 before he went on his epic run of winning U.S. Opens and PGA Championships. Koepka comes into this week off a win and looks to have his putter situation figured out after gaining more than 4 strokes putting in Singapore. He gained over 3.4 strokes off the tee on the field over his last two rounds in Singapore so his long game is in shape. Koepka is the safe play in this price range even if I want to play the younger Å berg.

Ludvig Å berg $10,500 See above.

Max Homa $9,700 has taken some time to come into his own in major championships. His performance at the Masters this year impressed and he is coming into this week after gaining strokes everywhere except off the tee at the Wells Fargo Championship. Homa is a high-ball hitter and that helps him at Valhalla. I think Homa will beat his previous best finish of 13th at the PGA Championship and should be in the mix as your second-most rostered player in the 9K range.

Wyndham Clark $9,500 See above.

Joaquin Niemann $9,400 is battling a balky putter right now and hasn’t been quite as sharp off the tee over his last two tournaments on the LIV Golf Tour. He still finished no worse than seventh thanks to the rest of his game and gained more than 8 strokes on approach in Singapore. Before Niemann left for LIV, I was convinced he could win multiple major championships with the PGA Championship being his ideal fit as one of the best ball strikers in golf. I won’t roster him nearly as much as I want to.

Justin Thomas $9,300 has been driving the ball better lately and is a wizard around the green. The two-time PGA Championship winner is a good fit for this golf course, but his game hasn’t been consistent enough for me to back him over a Clark or Homa. The pricing isn’t inviting enough for me.

Cameron Young $9,000 was trending a bit before the Masters, but he has struggled since finishing T9. He isn’t as long or as accurate off the tee as he needs to be to dominate this golf course the way he can at his best.

Hideki Matsuyama $8,600 killed me last week with his withdrawal. I should have looked at his layoff since the Masters with more skepticism about his health, but instead, I made up my narrative. A healthy Matsuyama should contend here without a doubt. I will put him in a few GPPs.

Sam Burns $8,500 is starting to drive the ball better. His approach numbers haven’t been good since the Phoenix Open and that concerns me at this price. If he were priced lower I would be taking more shots with Burns in GPP lineups, but it’s tough to justify.

Tyrrell Hatton $8,200 has two straight top 15 finishes at the PGA Championship and is coming off of a top 10 at the Masters. He gained more than 6 strokes on approach in Singapore finishing T4 and has the type of game that has won PGA Championships. Love him at this price.

Patrick Reed $8,000 finished T12 at the Masters and did it all with his short game. I don’t think Valhalla is a great fit for his game, but he is a golfer who figures out a way to score no matter how he is playing. He finished top 18 in three of his last four PGA Championships. I’m taking more shots in the 7K range than playing Reed here, but I’m not fading him completely.

Sungjae Im $7,900 has gained strokes off the tee in five straight tournaments. After the RBC Heritage, I was excited to bet him in Texas, but unfortunately, he was forced to withdraw due to illness. He bounced back at the Wells Fargo Championship placing T4. His iron play has been an issue this season. He has only gained strokes on the field on approach in two of his last twelve golf tournaments. Those statistics do scare me a bit. He’s close to figuring it out.

Byeong Hun An $7,800 See above.

Min Woo Lee $7,700 has struggled with his irons since gaining over 8 strokes combined at the Cognizant Classic and the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He has gained over 16.8 strokes combined off the tee over his last four tournaments. I like playing Lee in GPPs because of his upside off the tee.

Si Woo Kim $7,700 See above.

Corey Conners $7,600 is coming into the PGA Championship off the back of gaining over 9.7 strokes ball striking at the Wells Fargo Championship. Conners’s game is built to compete at the PGA Championship. He has two top 17 finishes in his last three PGA Championships.

Sepp Straka $7,500 has gained strokes off the tee in 12 straight measured golf tournaments and most of those gains are because of his accuracy. He has gained over 3.5 strokes on approach in three straight measured events. His around the green game scares me a bit at major championships, but you can’t ignore his current form. He finished T7 at the PGA Championship last year.

Stephan Jaeger $7,100 is the only man to beat Scheffler in Scheffler’s last five starts and that happens to be the only tournament that Jaeger has gained strokes on approach in his last five starts. Jaeger gained distance off the tee this season and that has helped him gain strokes on the field consistently, but I’m a little scared that his iron play isn’t sharp right now even if this price is inviting.

Dean Burmester $7,000 crushes the ball off the tee averaging over 312 yards per drive. He has gained 2.9 strokes or more off the tee in three straight events. He has five straight top 15 finishes on the LIV Golf Tour. He has made the cut in two of his last three PGA Championships, but comes into this week in his best form. Tough for me to not use him this week at this price.

Aaron Rai $6,700 is in play for me this week because of his ball striking and I am hoping his accuracy off the tee can help him set up some second shots. He gained over 8.9 strokes ball striking at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson his last time out.

Keith Mitchell $6,600 is getting back to dominating off the tee gaining over 10 strokes combined off the tee in his last two measured events. He has gained strokes on approach in eight straight measured events and has the type of game you see win or contend for PGA Championships. Love getting him at this price to pair with some high priced players.

Kurt Kitayama $6,500 is on team no-putt this week for me. Kitayama is an excellent ball striker who pops up leaderboards when his putter allows him to convert all the chances he creates. He has gained strokes off the tee in five straight measured events and has gained more than 3 strokes on approach in three of his last five measured events. He finished T4 at last year’s PGA Championship so he has a taste for it.

Ryan Fox $6,400 is a player I never get right. When I think he’s going to contend he misses the cut. When I think he has no shot he’s on the leaderboard and mocking me the entire time. I think this is a good fit for his game and he is coming off of a T4 in Myrtle Beach where he gained over 5.7 strokes ball striking.

Tom Hoge $6,400 is coming off of two mediocre finishes otherwise he would be getting some hype as a low priced play this week. He hasn’t lost strokes on approach since the Irish Open in September of 2023. He plays great on small green golf courses like Pebble Beach and has the type of wedge game that wins PGA Championships. I love Hoge at this price even if his around the green game scares me a bit.

Denny McCarthy $6,300 has four straight made cuts at PGA Championships, but this golf course is made for big-time drivers. He has two top six finishes in his last four starts. I believe he can make the cut, but I don’t love the upside with his current iron play.

Lucas Glover $6,100 has gained over 13.6 strokes on approach combined over his last four golf tournaments. He has gained off the tee in three of his last four despite being a short hitter. His putter isn’t as sharp as it was last year, but I’m not concerned with that here. He finished top 25 in his last trip to the PGA Championship.

Taylor Pendrith $6,000 is going to get a lot of ownership in almost every tournament at this price. His driver is on fire as he has gained over 3.8 strokes in each of his last two measured events. His short game has been particularly sharp, helping him to a win at the CJ Cup Byron Nelson.

Keita Nakajima $5,900 is a long hitter off the tee (over 320 yard average) and won the Hero India Open at the end of March. He hasn’t played a lot worldwide in the last few months so his form is a bit of a mystery. His driver travels no matter what.

Beau Hossler $5,800 has been doing it all with his short game lately. He contended in Myrtle Beach before his iron play took him out of contention. I think people will look at him as a familiar name down in this range, but should probably avoid even if he does play small green golf courses well.

David Puig $5,800 has gained more than 2.3 strokes off the tee in three straight measured events. He has a win and two other top five finishes on the Asian Tour this season, but hasn’t been as consistent on the LIV Golf Tour. I’m looking forward to watching him this week and I will take a flier on him in some GPPs.

Austin Eckroat $5,700 has the type of game that PGA Championship winners all have. He is strong off the tee with solid irons throughout his bag. He has struggled since he missed the cut at the Masters and it really showed last week when he lost over 7 strokes around the green at the Wells Fargo Championship. Be careful rostering Eckroat too much with his current form.

Patrick Rodgers $5,500 has gained strokes off the tee in four straight tournaments. His iron play has been poor, but he gained over 1.4 strokes on approach in the last round at the Wells Fargo so I’m hoping that sparked something with him. He finished T29 at last year’s PGA Championship.

One and done

Each week, we will pick in reverse order of the standings, and we can’t duplicate picks in the same week. Reference  this spreadsheet for tracking who we have used.

  • Hugh Kellenberger:  $7,112,305.13
  • Brody Miller: $6,009,111.83
  • Dennis Esser:  $2,480,211

Dennis Esser: Rahm gets the nod this week over Koepka by a hair. I wanted to take Å berg, but I want to see him fully healthy before taking him this year in one and done.

Brody Miller: The time has come to use McIlroy. The explanation isn’t very nuanced. After a disappointing first few months, McIlroy has won his last two starts. But more than results, McIlroy just looks confident out there in a way we haven’t seen in years. Then, you add in that he, of course, won the last PGA here in 2014. And  then you realize Quail Hollow (where he’s won four times including last week) is an extremely close course fit to Valhalla. It just seems like the best time to use him.

Hugh Kellenberger: Any list of the best players without a major championship now has to include Niemann, but I’m not so sure he’s not going to take himself off that list this week at the PGA Championship. He’s been the best player on the LIV tour — two wins and six top 10s in seven starts is a sick run of consistency. He was pretty good at the Masters with a T22 finish, but the circumstances of his arrival there assigned more pressure to Niemann. He’ll go under the radar this week at a course that should set up well for him.
