"This was a totally awesome and magnificent tour. Our first with Caravan and now certainly not our last, we couldn’t be more pleased. It went way above all our expectations. Extremely great value. Most spectacular place we have ever visited with the possible exception of the Grand Canyon. Timing of all the stops was excellent. Day after day we were amazed beyond words by the beauty of the sites visited. Don’t omit any stops. Information, history, stories and jokes from our director were outstanding, the most awesome we have ever had. She helped everyone on our bus in one way or another. I would love to have her on every tour and we would recommend this tour over and over." Mr. & Mrs. D.G., Greenwood, Indiana
"This was our 7th Caravan tour. Needless to say, we keep coming back because we have great experiences on Caravan tours. Our lives are enriched on every tour by the places we visit and by the people we meet. The places we went, the things we saw, and the activities we experienced fulfilled my expectations for this trip. In every direction, the scenery was stunning...so beautiful. There were plenty of great activities such as the float on the Bow River, walking on the glacier, the cruise to Goat Haunt and the Peace Park, the gondola in Banff, the Red Jammer tour in Glacier...everything. Yet, there was enough time to explore on our own." Mr. C.R., Lebanon, Pennsylvania
"This tour was so much fun and sold us on Caravan. This was our first Caravan tour following multiple trips with numerous other companies, including a previous one to the Canadian Rockies with another company. For the money, the Caravan Tour is a thorough and very enjoyable tour, good accommodations and an excellent value. Couldn’t believe what quality we got for such a low cost! As each day passed, the sights became more and more impressive, the mountains higher and more snow capped, culminating in the Columbia Icefield. Despite the cold, we were so happy that our director did everything on our itinerary. He was our all time favorite tour guide. So well-organized, professional, amiable and well-versed in the Canadian Rockies. Every day had its special moments, a complete itinerary. We had a wonderful time! We were pleased with every accommodation where we stayed. Great accommodations for comfort, accessibility, and service. Loved the Jasper House cabins and Banff Lodge." Mr. & Mrs. W.H., Berea, Ohio
"A very refreshing, nature-filled trip. Excellent, beautiful scenery was absolutely breathtaking. In AWE of the views at Lake Moraine and Lake Louise. Although the weather was not typical for the time of our visit, we loved every bit of the variety of cold, snow, rain, and sun that we experienced. Loved the Red Jammer Road to the Sun. River rafting in the snow was fabulous. Glacier field was breathtaking. Ample time for rest and photo stops of views to have as cherished memories of this tour." Mr. & Mrs. D.W., Vacherie, Louisiana
"A special family trip to celebrate my husband’s retirement. Loved the tour in full. The best trip I have ever taken. Just loved it. Our sightseeing and activities could not have been better. The Rockies were great. I enjoyed every activity and this is why I chose Caravan Canadian Rockies tour. Each day just got better and better. Everyday we kept saying “can’t get any better” and every day we were wrong. Just gorgeous. We got to see a lot but didn’t feel rushed, it was just right. The trip was broken up and we were able to stretch when tired of traveling. Our director was exceptional. The added knowledge of the area complemented each and every sight that we got to see. Words cannot begin to express our director’s expertise and his presentational skills, the best ever. I will use Caravan again." Mrs. & Mr. S.L., Murrysville, Pennsylvania
"It was our first Caravan tour. We were amazed at how smoothly it all went. We were awestruck by the scenery and by the friendly ambiance of our travel group. We were glad to have walking available to whatever extent we wanted or could manage. Loved the wide range of offerings, rafting, gondola, Red Jammer ride, awesome scenery, seeing the stampede grounds. Excellent to have rotation of seats!! A smooth, expertly ride with local info and a tidy coach, our driver was a true gentleman. A very wide range of places to stay and something for everyone in the group, well done!" Mr. & Mrs. P.W., Polo, Illinois
"Without a doubt, this was the best tour I have been on. Worth every dollar. The sights were the most beautiful I have ever seen and the stops, attractions, guides, free time, and overall schedule was just perfect. Perfect selection of activities and free time. Where to start! The cruise on Waterton Lake and dinner with friends was great. Our guide on the boat did a great job explaining everything we were seeing. The Red Jammer ride and Sun Highway and everything associated with that day was absolutely amazing. The drivers were outstanding and the scenery and wildlife was breathtaking. While we experienced fog going up Sulphur Mountain on the gondola, the views at the top were out of this world. Then the fog lifted and what a sight! All the other stops like Lake Louise and the many waterfalls were great additions to the trip. I would have not wanted to miss any of them. We saw so much more than I expected and I think because of the way our TD managed the tour and the group, we all developed personal relationships with each other early on in the tour and the entire group worked together to make sure no one was left out. Everything went just like clockwork and we had nothing to think about except to enjoy and take in the beauty of the country. Leave the work to Caravan! Another great tour, thanks!!" Mr. W.S., Dayton, Ohio

Canadian Rockies Overview

Canadian Rocky Mountains Tours – The Ultimate Guide

The Rocky Mountains (or Rockies) in Western North America have been around for more than 55 million years. This majestic and imposing 3000-mile range extends from British Columbia in Canada to New Mexico in the United States. Formed by movements of the earth and sculpted by the action of glaciers, the Rockies stand today as a testament to the passage of time and the immense power of nature.

Humans have lived among the Rockies since the Ice Age. Today, this is one of the most visited destinations in the world. When you read reviews online, the Rockies regularly feature on peoples’ bucket lists. Tourists and locals alike are in awe of the unspoiled beauty of the majestic snow-capped peaks. Whether they’re visiting for one day or 20 days, the abundance of flora and fauna in the region and spectacular scenery never fail to mesmerize visitors.

Many people plan trips to the Rockies to revel in recreational and sporting activities such as camping, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, golfing, boating, and rafting, to name a few. Others travel to this special region simply to experience a connection with nature that only the pristine expanse of the Rockies can provide. What’s common is that everyone who comes to explore the Canadian Rockies leaves after the trip with a lifetime of unforgettable memories.  Canadian Rocky Mountain tour packages cater to every reason for visiting this sublimely beautiful part of the world.

You will undoubtedly visit at least one Canadian Rocky Mountains National Park on any of the large number of guided tours that start in  Vancouver and  Calgary . Winter sports enthusiasts can choose an itinerary and dates that include the beautiful ski resort of Whistler.  Canadian Rocky Mountain tours from Calgary and Vancouver offer great multiday summer packages that bundle travel, several nights in comfortable hotels, and meals. Often, attraction admissions are included for a hassle-free vacation at one great price. Just show up at the departure point and let the professional guides lead the way. Your only worry will be trying to capture a shooting star with your camera before it disappears into the clear night-sky!

A  Canadian Rocky Mountains tour from Vancouver gives you the chance of a lifetime – to walk out over the Rockies, suspended 918 feet in the air, on the glass-bottomed Glacier Skywalk at Jasper. Nothing can quite compare to the rush of adrenaline and you’ll come away with a newfound respect for the term “bird’s eye view.” Other attractions in Jasper National Park include the Athabasca Glacier icefields, river and falls as well as the Jasper Skytram (the highest and longest of its kind in Canada).

Lake Louise and the  Banff National Park are other popular stops that attract an estimated 4.5 million visitors every year. There are several castle-like resorts dotting the area along the railway line that offer unique backdrops for your photos. While in Banff, a Gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain is a must for what are arguably some of the most breathtaking views in the Rockies. The drive on the Icefields Parkway is considered not only one of Canada’s best, but one of the most beautiful in the world.

On your vacation in Canada, Rocky Mountains tour options include those geared to satisfy the intrepid adventurer and explorer in you. On these multi-day Canadian Rockies tours, you will journey to impossibly blue glacial lakes and towering pine-covered mountains. There are innumerable sightseeing opportunities and plenty of hikes through rugged landscape of unparalleled beauty.

Summer tours to the Canadian Rockies are easily available, but also hugely popular are winter tours for those who want to experience the mountains in all their snow-covered splendor. You can enjoy a romantic private horse-drawn sleigh ride along the wintry shores of Lake Louise or go on an invigorating ice-walk through the frosty Maligne Canyon. Please request a brochure, look through our menu, or call / email to find a range of experiences that can make your vacation even more memorable, at prices that are more affordable than you think.

Tours to the Rockies offer more than just spectacular views. This is your chance to immerse yourself in the culture and learn about the traditions of this immensely beautiful land while also mingling with visitors that come here from around the world. Book your Rockies tour today, and you will come away with spectacular photos to share and stories to tell for the rest of your life.

1 -Accommodation:

Choosing the right tour is crucial, especially if you’re looking to visit all the must-see destinations and have ample time to explore. We recommend joining a tour that provides accommodations within Banff and Jasper National Parks. Our selected hotels are centrally located in Banff, Jasper, and Lake Louise, ensuring that you’re right in the heart of these stunning locations.

2 -Transportation:

Tours of the Canadian Rockies often require long, sometimes winding, steep, and bumpy drives. To ensure your comfort, Key West Travel utilizes spacious highway coaches with 55 seats. You can look forward to comfortable reclining seats, panoramic windows, and onboard washroom facilities, luxuries that are not typically available on smaller coaches.

3 -Tour Director:

When selecting a tour package, it’s important to consider the intended audience, as this can give you an idea of who your fellow travelers will be and what kind of experience to anticipate. Our tours are primarily designed for individuals aged 30 and above, offering an opportunity to explore the Rockies thoroughly in the company of a more mature group. However, we also warmly welcome families and students, creating a diverse and relaxed environment for all who wish to join.

4 – Itinerary/Activities:

Our strategically situated hotels on the Circle West itinerary ensure that guests don’t miss out on any of the Canadian Rockies’ highlights. Additionally, we provide a selection of optional activities for those seeking extra adventure at an additional cost. For guests preferring a more relaxed experience, complimentary activities are readily available as well.

Our tours are exclusively conducted in English by a seasoned tour director boasting over a decade of professional experience!

Demand for Canadian vacations in 2024 is exceptionally high due to pent-up interest. We strongly recommend securing your seats early to ensure you get your preferred date and avoid the possibility of hotel downgrades.

Key West Travel does not offer individual pick-ups as our tour guests would like to depart Vancouver as scheduled. Usually, the tour departs from Hyatt Regency Downtown Vancouver (655 Burrard Street).

Standard accommodations in our packages offer mountain lodge-style hotels, renowned for their cleanliness and comfort, providing guests with private rooms and en-suite washrooms. For those seeking an even more luxurious experience, our premium accommodations are resort-style hotels that tend to sell out fast. We advise booking premium options well in advance, as they often become unavailable six months prior to departure.

Gratuities are not included in our prices, unless otherwise indicated. While we do not dictate the amount you should offer as a tip, it is customary in Canada to provide gratuities as a token of appreciation for excellent service

The travel time varies depending on the day. On Day 1, if you are traveling from Calgary to Jasper, it will take about 7-8 hours. On the other hand, a transfer from Edmonton to Jasper is shorter, taking about 4-5 hours. On travel days between Vancouver and Jasper or Banff, you can expect a minimum of 10 hours on the bus. To ensure your comfort, we schedule mini breaks every 2-3 hours. On days dedicated to sightseeing, the time spent on the bus will be minimal, as most of the day will be occupied with walking, sightseeing, hiking, and other activities.

While touring through Jasper, you have a great chance of seeing all types of wildlife due to the remote location of this Rocky Mountain town. The first stop on the tour is the Maligne Canyon, where 10,000 years of erosion have created the deepest canyon in the Rockies. Start off with a short and easy walk, admiring the Maligne River and its many waterfalls as you cross back and forth across a series of bridges.

From May to October, you'll make a stop at the disappearing Medicine Lake, followed by the fairytale-like Maligne Lake for a walk around the lake, or a boat cruise out to Spirit Island which can be included as an optional add-on from June 1st to October 9. The exact opening dates are dependent on the ice melt and could be added on the day of for late-May tours.

From December to March, you'll have the option to strap on some ice cleats and go for a walk through the Maligne Canyon where you can see the frozen waterfalls up close. For those feeling less adventurous, an itinerary focussed on wildlife viewing may be more suitable.

Your tour guide will pick you up from the location of your choice in Banff, Canmore, or Lake Louise as this tour can travel in either direction. Please bring your luggage with you if you plan to take this tour as a one-way tour, not as a return trip.

From May to October, the tour will focus on the many mountain lakes, and waterfalls in the Banff National Park and Yoho National Park areas which include key locations such as Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, Emerald Lake, and Takakkaw Falls.

From December to March, the lakes will be frozen over and some of the mountain roads will be closed meaning that Moraine Lake and Takakkaw Falls are not accessible, however, there is still plenty to do and see! Your tour guide will fill the gaps in your day based on your preferences but if you are looking for a fun, Canadian activity to include, Ice Skating on Lake Louise is recommended.

The first stop on the tour is the Maligne Canyon, where 10,000 years of erosion have created the deepest canyon in the Rockies. Start off with a short and easy walk, admiring the Maligne River and its many waterfalls as you cross back and forth across a series of bridges.

From late May to early October, you'll make a stop at the disappearing Medicine Lake, followed by the fairytale-like Maligne Lake for a boat cruise out to Spirit Island.

From mid-October to mid-May, you may visit other sites around Jasper such as Pyramid Lake/Pyramid Lake Island, visit the Mount Robson viewpoint, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, or do other activities such as hike the Mary Schaffer Loop, hike out to Moose Lake, or set out in search of wildlife.

Your tour guide will pick you up from the location of your choice in Jasper. Please bring your luggage with you as this is a one-way tour. The Icefields Parkway is known as one of the world's most scenic drives so you don't need to venture far from the main highway to see some spectacular sights.

From May to October, the tour will have many scenic photo stops along the route to Jasper including Athabasca Falls, Crowfoot Glacier, Peyto Lake, and Bow Lake.

From December to March, the Icefields Parkway sees much less traffic and turns into a beautiful drive of solitude and wonder. The roadside stops feature endless views of snow-capped mountains and ancient glaciers that make it a true winter wonderland. During this time, you'll have stops along the way at Athabasca Falls, Athabasca Glacier, and Bow Lake.

This tour will surround you with soaring mountains, stunning lakes, and breathtaking waterfalls. This excursion takes you to the most treasured spots in Banff and Yoho National Parks such as Kicking Horse Pass, Emerald Lake, Morant’s Curve, the Natural Rock Bridge, and crossing the Continental Divide. Explore the evolution of the land and discover how ancient glaciers shaped the appearance of the natural wonders found in these spectacular mountain settings.

From mid-May to early-October you’ll also have the chance to visit the iconic Moraine Lake. When Moraine Lake is not open during the winter months, a shortened version of this tour will allow you to arrive at your hotel for the evening before sundown.

Rockies Premium Tour from Vancouver (34 Seats)

The itinerary was very structured and organised. Got to see many spectacular sights of the Rockies. Had an amazing time with the group (just a nice size) and we got to go to Banff, Jasper, saw many waterfalls and mountain ranges. Enjoyed myself thoroughly. Thank you to Luke for being such a cool, chill and wonderful tour guide throughout the trip! He really made sure we all had a great time, single-handedly driving us long distances to the different destinations and also helping out with our luggages. He also recommended us great sights to see and provided insights on some of the history of the Rockies and tidbits about the stuff we saw in our tour.

Caribou Tour

The tour was amazing. Great size group, lots of stops for food and bathroom. Our tour guide, Dayton, was fun and knowledgeable. Definitely recommend this tour.

Tour guide Alma was great. We saw many great sites. Everything went on schedule. The boat tour, glacier site and whale watching was the best.

Canadian Rockies Express Tour

Canadian Rockies Express

Itinerary was great, scenery was beautiful, and our guide was fun. I was the only male in the group with my wife and 11 other females and it worked out fine. Everyone was very congenial, and the diversity of the group added to the experience. Only thing I would change would be the accommodations in Vancouver. While the hotel was fine it was very far from the downtown and sights, so we spent most of our time the last day in the van in traffic. Overall, it was a fantastic trip.

Jets defenseman Brenden Dillon suffered a cut on his hand during a fight at the end of the Avalanche's win over Winnipeg.

Bloody Late-Game Fight Highlights Avalanche's Blowout Win Over Jets

  • Author: Tim Capurso

In this story:

The Colorado Avalanche defeated the Winnipeg Jets 6–2 on Friday night at Ball Arena, taking a 2–1 lead in their Western Conference first-round series, though the victory was marred by a bloody fight at the end of the game.

Tempers flared at the end of a third period that saw the Avalanche score five goals, as Colorado leftwinger Miles Wood and Winnipeg center Adam Lowry went head-to-head in a fight that left Wood's head briefly stuck in his jersey with 27 seconds remaining in the contest. Officials quickly broke up the scuffle, which resulted in five-minute majors for both Wood and Lowry.

But that was only the beginning.

Moments later, the Avalanche and the Jets dropped the gloves again as the final horn sounded, resulting in a large scrum around the net with gloves and sticks strewn on the ice. Jets defenseman Brenden Dillon suffered a bloody cut on his hand and blood was seen on the ice, as well as on Avalanche forward Brandon Duhaime's jersey.

Dillon rushed down the tunnel as officials established order on the ice. He received a pair of minor penalties for roughing, while Duhaime and Avalanche teammate Joel Kiviranta were also assessed roughing penalties.

The Jets had no update on Dillon after the game. It remains to be seen if the tensions from this game will have an impact on the rest of the series. Game 4 begins at 2:30 p.m. ET on Sunday.
