Lil Wayne Plots ‘Welcome to Tha Carter’ 2023 Tour Dates

Lil Wayne will hit the road this spring with a 28-city North American tour dubbed the “Welcome to Tha Carter Tour.”

The trek will launch April 4 at the Fillmore in Minneapolis, Minnesota and Wayne will criss-cross the U.S. and Canada over the next month-and-a-half. The run will finally wrap May 13 at the Wiltern in Los Angeles.

Tickets for all shows will go on sale this Friday, Feb. 3, at 10 a.m. local time on Ticketmaster.com . Full information is available on Lil Wayne’s website . 

The Welcome to Tha Carter Tour announcement comes as Lil Wayne prepares to receive a special honor from the Recording Academy’s annual Black Music collective event, taking place Feb. 2, three days before the 2023 Grammys. Wayne — a four-time Grammy winner — will receive the Global Impact Award, along with two of his celebrated peers, Missy Elliott and Dr. Dre.

Lil Wayne announces 2023 North American tour dates

The “welcome to tha carter tour” begins in april..

Lil Wayne has revealed a run of North American tour dates beginning in spring 2023. The “Welcome To Tha Carter Tour Presented by Young Money, Rolling Loud, and Live Nation” comprises 28 dates across the United States and Canada, beginning April 4 in Minneapolis and finishing May 13 in Los Angeles. Tickets go on sale via Lil Wayne’s website on February 3 at 10 a.m. local time.

This Sunday, Lil Wayne will receive a Global Impact Award at the 2023 Grammys celebrating his “personal and professional achievements in the music industry,” along with Missy Elliott , Dr. Dre , and Epic Records CEO Sylvia Rhone. In August 2022, he appeared in Toronto for the Young Money Reunion Show with Drake , Nicki Minaj , and other artists from his record label.

Lil Wayne Will Hit The Road This Spring For The ‘Welcome To Tha Carter Tour’ Presented By Rolling Loud

Lil Wayne may be living his best life as a professional skater when he’s not popping in on an ESPN broadcast to provide commentary , but don’t forget he is a diamond -certified rapper. As the New Orleans native prepares to be honored by the Recording Academy and the Black Music Collective as a recipient of the 2023 Global Impact Awards , he’s also preparing for another chain of events.

Teaming with Rolling Loud, Lil Wayne will embark on a 28-city North American tour titled Welcome To Tha Carter Tour . The tour will kick off in April, with its first stop being at The Fillmore Minneapolis, and will end in Los Angeles at The Wiltern. As of now, the entertainer has shared whether or not he’s bringing any supporting acts on the road but knowing him, a surprise appearance by his Young Money team members, Nicki Minaj or Drake, isn’t out of the realm of possibilities.

Lil Wayne, a five-time GRAMMY® Award winner and multi-platinum recording artist, announced his 2023 tour, Welcome To Tha Carter Tour Presented by Young Money, Rolling Loud, and Live Nation, which will start this spring.

The 28-city tour begins on Tuesday, April 4, at The Fillmore in Minneapolis and travels to cities such as Detroit, Toronto, Houston, and more before coming to an end on Saturday, May 13, at The Wiltern in Los Angeles.

Details of Lil Wayne, T.I., Future Tour Announced

As he alluded to in his recent post-hospital video , a recovering Lil Wayne will hit the road this summer for an ambitious tour called America's Most Wanted. He'll be joined by T.I. and Future for big arena dates across the U.S. beginning in July, XXL reports . Wayne's new album, I Am Not a Human Being II , is out tomorrow.

Lil Wayne added to 2024 Afro Nation Detroit festival lineup

(CBS DETROIT) - Afro Nation is returning for another year in Detroit, and this year's lineup will include rapper Lil Wayne.

The music icon will join PartyNextdDoor, Nigerian artists Rema, Arya Starr and Detroit native Kash Doll for the two-day event at the Bedrock Douglass site on Aug. 17 and 18.

Tickets are $199 for general admission and $299 for VIP.

According to its website, the festival features Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, R&B, Dancehall, Amapiano, and Afro-House music on two stages. In addition to live performances, there will also be five DJs.

Last year's lineup included Ari Lennox, Latto, Coi Leray, Davido and Burna Boy.
